LayerZero Crosses This Significant Milestone, But Is An Airdrop Coming? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Cross-Chain communication protocol platform LayerZero has crossed 50 million cross-chain messages, as revealed by the platform on Tuesday, July 25. This significant milestone proves the massive trading activity and cross-chain token swaps that happen across several chains daily.

LayerZeros Impressive Growth

The 50-million cross-chain messages is undoubtedly a testament to how much LayerZero has achieved in the space. Due to the projects disruptive vision, it has received enormous backing from some of the ecosystems biggest Venture Capitalists (VC).

Three months ago, LayerZero raised $120 million from prominent backers like auction company Christies, renowned VC firms Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, Capital market company Samsung Next, OpenSea Ventures, and Circle Ventures. What is more impressive is that LayerZero was valued at $3 billion during this Series B funding round, almost three times its $135 million valuation during the funding round held back in 2022.

This remarkable feat has also come during the lingering crypto bear market when many have felt that the outlook in the industry will be negative. That is why it is easy to share the sentiments of the CEO of LayerZero Labs when he stated:

LayerZero is to blockchains what the internet was to computing clusters. LayerZero allows chains not only to build bridges (to transfer assets/value between them) but send and execute arbitrary data just like a packet on the internet. What this means is that you can now build applications that are orders of magnitude more complex than existing applications and do so with a completely seamless experience between chains.

Blockchain interoperability remains the foremost issue in the Web3 space. Furthermore, this has greatly hindered some from venturing into the space, and it is well-known that if crypto is to enjoy mainstream adoption, this issue needs to be dealt with. That is why interoperability protocols like LayerZero are key in the blockchain ecosystem.

It is common knowledge that the interoperability issue stems from how blockchains have different protocols and standards that make them incompatible. However, platforms like LayerZero bridge this gap by facilitating seamless and direct communication between different blockchain networks, making it easy for users on networks like Ethereum, Aptos, Solana, and SUI to move their digital assets across these chains.

Wen Airdrop?

The question of if LayerZero will carry out an airdrop has been on the lips of many members of the LayerZero community. Although the team has been tight-lipped over whether or not there will indeed be an airdrop to users, the signs are becoming more glaring that one may, in fact, be on the horizo...

Garret Yount: Why Vibes Matter "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

We've all had 'that' feeling: when our mood suddenly changes or we sense an 'atmosphere' on entering a room. There is a distinct quality that connects these experiences it's a shift in how we sense a person or a place, often referred to as a 'vibe'.

Vibes matter because they have the power to change the way we feel and behave.
Garret Yount PhD has been researching the science of 'energy vibes' for over 20 years. In Why Vibes Matter he explains what can lead us to experience a 'vibe' or a shift in energy and how to harness their power.

Looking at where vibes come from and how they affect us Garret reviews the research and explains the science behind our reactions. Practical tools and techniques will help you attune to your own vibes and learn how to influence them in the wisest possible way.

Garret Yount, PhD, is a Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Dr. Younts primary interest is bridging molecular neurobiology with aspects of consciousness and the nonmaterial mind. He began his formal studies in consciousness research with a small grant from the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 1995, which allowed him to work with biofield practitioners and spiritual healers in the laboratory. Dr. Yount was among the first scientists to be awarded a Research Project Grant (R01) from the National Institutes of Health to study energy healing. He has spoken nationally and co-authored peer-reviewed papers on the topic of establishing rigorous guidelines for research into biofields and micro-psychokinesis.

AITABacheloretteWhite All of my friends were on my side. She Didnt Include Her Sister In Law in Her Bachelorette Party Photos. Is She a Jerk?

Bachelorette parties can get pretty testy

And if you dont believe me, this story that a woman wrote on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page will definitely convince you!

Sink your teeth into this beauty and see if you think this woman was out of line.

AITA for not including my SIL in photos during my bachelorette party because she wore white?

Im getting married (yay!) and my brother John asked me to include his girlfriend Sarah as a bridesmaid as a way to get her involved with our family since he wants to propose soon.

I wasnt happy (shes quite snobbish, almost in a comically villainous way. She once made fun of the fact that I get most of my groceries from the local big box superstore and not somewhere with more high quality product).

But I love John and it mattered a lot to him, so I agreed.

Onto the issue: on the final night of my bachelorette party, we decided to have one big meal that was really pricey and fancy that we all saved up for. Sarah said she had to take an emergency work meeting and for us to go ahead first (the restaurant was walkable from our hotel).

Guys, when Sarah showed up, I was FLOORED. She came in a white sparkly sequin number with a tull...

Binance Rolls Out Zero-Fee Stablecoin But Hits Pause Soon After: Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

First Digital USD (FDUSD), a newly introduced stablecoin scheduled to make its debut on Binance on Wednesday has now faced a halt due to technical difficulties.

A Bumpy Start To The FDUSD Journey

The expected listing of FDUSD on Binance was initially set for July 26, 2023. To incentivize traders, Binance planned to offer zero maker fees for all FDUSD trading pairs. However, due to technical issues encountered by the FDUSD pairs liquidity providers, the launch was postponed.

Related Reading: Binance Pools Litecoin Hash Rate Falls 50%: Whats Next?

Trading was halted at 09:45 (UTC), and all pending FDUSD orders were canceled, reflecting the exchanges commitment to user protection amid these unforeseen circumstances.

In response to these technical glitches, Binance rescheduled the FDUSD listing for the same day at 14:00 (UTC). However, the delay caused by the technical issues put a temporary damper on the excitement surrounding the FDUSD launch.

First Digital USD: Just Another Stablecoin?

First Digital Group, a conglomerate including Hong Kong-based First Digital Trust, a custodian and trust firm, unveiled the plan for the FDUSD stablecoin in June. Backed by FD121, the stablecoin, pegged to the US dollar on a 1:1 ratio, promised to be fully backed by cash and cash equivalents held in regulated financial institutions segregated accounts.

The reserves are said to be under constant audit and monitoring by independent third parties, assuring investors of the coins stability.

Beyond the initial hiccups, the ambition driving the creation of FDUSD is worth noting. The First Digital Group envisages FDUSD to be more than a simple programmable digital asset.

FDUSD is designed to be compatible with Web3 technologies, positioning it to potentially aid in the creation of future solutions. The stablecoin is able to interact with financial smart contracts, escrow services, and insurance protocols without requiring intermediaries. This integration aims to bridge the gap between traditional finan...

Too much booze.

I have a friend who had a drinking problem and got into an argument with a gas station worker while dr**k.

The worker tried stopping his car by standing in front of it and my friend ran him over and k**led him.

Wife, career, freedom, everything lost

An acquaintance. He had a good job, nice truck, mortgage on a nice home, minimal debt, in a relationship with someone out of his league.

Before I knew him hed had a DUI, but his attorney got him a plea deal that dropped the DUI down to a minor charge. A real lucky break. All he had to do was stay the course.

He could have walked home that night. It was less than two miles. But he was too proud to leave his truck at the bar, so instead he wrapped it around a power pole. No one was hurt, including him. The judge who got his case was furious to learn his previous DUI had been pled down. The judge rejected a plea deal and vowed to throw the book at him.

Exuberant Patterns Bring Ceramic Creatures to Life in George Rodriguezs Mexican Zodiac "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A ceramic sculpture of a colorful grasshopper.

El Chapulin. All images George Rodriguez, shared with permission

Antennae spring from the crown of a grasshopper, and an alert expression characterizes a cacomixtles beady eyes in George Rodriguezs vibrant portraits of Mexican fauna. In his ongoing Mexican Zodiac series, the artist takes inspiration from the Great Race myth and the birth of the Chinese zodiac. I wanted to continue to explore themes of protection, inclusion, and sanctity using the Chinese zodiac as a framework, he tells Colossal. I was also inspired by Ai Weiweis Circle of Animals sculpture recreating the 12 animal heads of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing.

Rodriguez initially made all of the Chinese zodiac animals in homage to the original stories, then landed on the idea of bringing the narrative closer to his own home and creating a parallel Mexican version. Instead of the Year of the Rat, it would be el Ao del Chapuln (grasshopper), he says. Instead of Year of the Tiger, it would be el Ao del Jaguar. I have fun translating the different animal characteristics into animals that would be found in and around Mexico.

Real Estate Investors Should Consider Strategies For Bitcoin, A Superior Store Of Wealth "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Leon Wankum, a HODLer who is active in real estate and venture capital with a masters degree in financial economics.

Real estate has proven to be an effective store of value over the last few decades, with property prices around the world having risen sharply since the 1970s. This development coincides with the "Nixon shock" of August 15, 1971, when U.S. President Richard Nixon announced that the United States would end the convertibility of the U.S. dollar into gold.

Since then, central banks around the world have started operating a fiat-based monetary system with floating exchange rates and no real currency standard at all. The money supply has been rising steadily ever since. As a result, real estate has become so valuable because it serves the world as the primary asset to store value and protect wealth from resulting inflation. Around 67% of global wealth (with some estimates putting the figure at $330 trillion) is stored in real estate.

In the past, people owned real estate for its utility value, which is characterized by the fact that you can live in it or use it for production. However, today, most people, especially wealthy individuals and institutions, own real estate to store value. In addition, from about 2008 to 2022, there has been a low to negative interest rate policy around the world, which has prompted investors to withdraw their savings from the bank and invest them.

But even more recently, macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds have exposed the weakness of real estate as a physical store of value and demonstrated the benefits of bitcoin as a digital store of value.

Litecoin Bulls Barrel Back Toward $92 Level Will They Succeed? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Litecoin (LTC) price decrease was a healthy retracement as it pulled back toward the $92 mark. Such retracements are standard after prolonged upward trends and are often seen as an opportunity for the market to find stability before continuing its upward trajectory.

However, in the case of Litecoin, the bears have become increasingly dominant, signaling potential resistance ahead.

LTC has been facing a significant price drop, falling below the crucial $90 level to $89.47, as reported by CoinGecko. The altcoin experienced a minor 0.3% increase in the last 24 hours, which hardly compensates for the troubling seven-day slump of 3.6%.

This sharp decline has sparked concerns among investors and traders, as the once-promising bullish momentum seems to have taken a dramatic turn for the worse.

Litecoin Struggles To Surpass $92

One key factor contributing to the current bearish trend is Litecoins inability to climb past the $92 mark. LTC has repeatedly failed to breach this level and has instead posted lower lows, indicating a loss of bullish momentum, as noted in this LTC price report.

When a cryptocurrency struggles to surpass crucial resistance levels, it typically shows waning buyer interest and growing selling pressure, leading to a downward spiral.

As LTCs price continues to decline, investors are now concerned about the $87.65 support level. Historically, this level has held firm during previous price declines as a crucial barrier against further downside movements.

However, given the recent price behavior and lack of significant buying support, there are growing concerns that the $87.65 support may falter.

Atheist Republic News Summary: Andrew Tate's Shocking Call for the Islam... "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

  • Andrew Tate's Shocking Call for the Islamization of Britain

https://www.atheistrepublic.com/news/andrew-tates-shocking-call-islamization-britain

Location: United Kingdom

Andrew Tate, the British-American social media personality and former kickboxer, known for his promotion of misogyny and his current legal battle in which he is facing charges of human trafficking, has ignited online backlash with his recent call for the Islamization of the United Kingdom. This call followed London-based billionaire Asif Aziz's announcement of plans to transform the Trocadero, a key historical landmark, into a mosque. Tate, a recent convert to Islam from a Christian background, lauded the news, tweeting, "Allah is the best of planners and I look forward to seeing The Islamic Republic of Great Britistan in her final form. Alhamdulillah Britain will be fully Islamic soon." However, his comment prompted widespread shock and criticism, with Twitter users challenging his statements about the demise of British culture and the need for an Islamic Republic. One user pointed out, "This is a false dichotomy you assert. A secular UK as it is intended to be. All races and religions and cultures etc living in harmony. That seems like a better and more long term plan."

In an unexpected turn of events in Sweden, a provocative protest took an unexpected twist when Syrian-origin Ahmad Alush, initially granted permission to burn the Torah and the Bible as part of a demonstration, dramatically altered his plans. Poised to light the holy books in front of the Israeli Embassy, Alush abruptly discarded his lighter and declared, Im a Muslim, we dont burn (books). I want to show that we have to respect each other." This abrupt change came as a surprise given the original protest was seemingly retaliatory to an earlier Quran-burning incident. However, Alush's initial plan was not without severe backlash; Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Ariel Muzicant,...

Binance Coin (BNB) Price Poised For A Major Breakout Which Way Will It Go? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Binance Coin bulls have shown signs of sluggishness, leading to a concerning dip below the crucial $240 support level. This downward movement suggests that bearish forces may be gaining dominance in the near-term market outlook.

Currently, BNB is shaping an intriguing chart pattern known as the inverted flag. Amidst the recent market turbulence, BNBs price has experienced a 0.2% dip in the past 24 hours and a seven-day decline of 2.1%. The coin is currently trading at $237, figures from crypto market tracker CoinGecko shows.

As the former high of $261.9 seems to be a distant memory, investors are keenly observing this bearish continuation pattern and its potential implications.

Understanding BNBs Inverted Flag Pattern

The inverted flag pattern is a technical chart pattern that signals a potential downtrend continuation. It is formed when a sharp decline in the price of an asset (the flagpole) is followed by a brief period of consolidation, represented by a downward-sloping channel (the flag).

This pattern suggests that the price will likely break the lower support trendline after a temporary relief rally and continue its downward trajectory.

With a loss of 2.0% in the last week, the BNB price is approaching the lower support trendline of the inverted flag pattern. As BNBs bearish continuation pattern takes hold, the chances of the price breaking this dynamic support become more significant. A daily candle closing below this trendline would signal a strong possibility of the downward trend resuming.

Binance Coin: Potential Reversal At Support

However, there is hope for BNB holders as signs of a potential reversal emerge. If the coin price shows resilience and starts to rebound at the bottom support trendline, it would indicate that buyers are actively defending this critical level.

Such a reversal could prolong the ongoing relief rally and...

At the center of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a device quite like the real ancient Greek artifact known as the Antikythera mechanism, which has been called the worlds oldest computer. After undergoing Indiana Jonesification, in other words, the Antikythera mechanism becomes a time machine, a function presumably not included in even the least responsible archaeological speculations about its still-unclear set of functions.

But according to Jo Marchant, author of Decoding the Heavens: Solving the Mystery of the Worlds First Computer, the Antikythera mechanism really is a time machine in a sense. When you turn the handle on the side, you are moving backward in time, youre controlling time. Youre seeing the universe either being fast-forwarded or reversed, and youre choosing the speed and can set it to any moment in history that you want.

According to renowned analyst Ali Martinez, DOGEs price action has established a crucial support zone between $0.070 and $0.076. Martinez points out that in this price range, a staggering 452,000 wallets acquired a significant amount of DOGE, totaling 51.4 billion coins. On the other hand, the cryptocurrency faces stiff resistance at $0.083 and $0.088, signaling potential hurdles for further upward momentum.

In/out of the money around price

On-chain data firm Santiment adds to the optimism surrounding DOGE, highlighting that the average DOGE trader, active in the past year, is now in profit for the first time in 12 weeks, showing a 2.4% gain. This development is considered a significant milestone and could attract more interest from traders.

On the other hand, more traders in profit means that profit-taking is more likely, thus selling pressure could build up. Moreover, the DOGE social dominance indicator has not yet reached the dangerous FOMO zone, indicating the possibility of a further upward surge.

How to Build a Paver Patio "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

DIY Paver Patio 2

By Jamison Rantz

On our barn/workshop we have a covered porch that gets used quite a bit. The covered area is a place to store my grill and transport material into the workshop. But it has also become a place to store bikes and other things, leaving us little space to entertain outside. To expand that area for storage and my new Pit Boss grill we decided to build a paver patio. I learned a ton throughout the process of researching and completing this project and I thought it was important to put together a thorough guide for others to learn. Read on to see exactly how it all came together!

If you know anything about the ukiyo-e masters of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Japan like Kitagawa Utamaro, Utagawa Hiroshige, and Katsushika Hokusai, you know that they became renowned through woodblock prints. But in almost all cases, a woodblock print begins in another medium: the medium of the drawing, where the artist works out the image before committing (or having it committed) to a block of wood for printing. This process, as Tokyo-based Canadian printmaker David Bull explains in the video above, entailed the destruction of the original drawing or at least it did a couple of centuries ago, before the advent of copy machines, let alone high-resolution digital scanners.

Our time has not only these technologically advanced tools, but also, as previously featured here on Open Culture, a wealth of rediscovered drawings by Hokusai himself. The existence of these exquisite small drawings had been forgotten, says the site of the British Museum. Last publicly recorded at a Parisian auction in 1948, they are said to have been in a private collection in France before resurfacing in 2019.

Shiba Inu: Will This Bullish Formation Lead To A 25% Upsurge? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has recently caught the attention of traders and investors as it forms an ascending triangle pattern on the price chart. This technical pattern is characterized by higher lows, converging with a horizontal resistance level.

The current price of SHIB stands at $0.00000789, experiencing a meager 1% in increase in the last 24 hours and recording a modest seven-day gain of 0.6%, data from CoinGecko shows.

However, the real excitement lies in the potential breakout that could lead to a fresh prolonged recovery for the cryptocurrency from this ascending triangle pattern.

Shiba Inu Ascending Triangle Pattern Explained

An ascending triangle pattern is a technical chart formation characterized by higher lows and a horizontal resistance line. Traders often interpret this as a potential bullish signal.

As the price approaches the flat resistance line, it indicates that buyers are becoming more aggressive, creating higher lows. This pattern suggests that a breakout to the upside is more likely than a breakdown to the downside.

Currently, Shiba Inus price is hovering near the neckline of the ascending triangle at $0.00000788. A bullish breakout from this neckline at $0.00000845 could trigger a significant price surge for SHIB. This could set the stage for a fresh and prolonged recovery, potentially enticing more buyers to enter the market.

Ethereum (ETH) Price Prediction: Buy Signal With 78% Accuracy Flashes "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

After Ethereum (ETH) once again failed to break the $2,000 level in the 1-day chart, the price has been on a downward slide in recent days. However, this could now change, as a historically accurate trend indicator shows.

Crypto traders and analysts constantly seek reliable indicators to navigate the turbulent market. One such indicator gaining attention is the Tom Demark 9 (TD9), which has flashed a buy signal for Ethereum (ETH) on the daily chart. Renowned analyst Joe McCann shared his insights via Twitter, revealing an intriguing success rate of 78% for ETHs historical TD9 buy signals.

Ethereum (ETH) Buy Signal

Joe McCanns tweet brought the spotlight on ETHUSDs TD9 buy signal, which occurred after the asset dropped 8.7% from its recent high. The TD9 indicator, an indicator that also measures whether an asset is overbought or oversold, similar to the RSI, aims to identify potential trend reversals. According to McCann, historical data showcases the TD9 buy signals remarkable accuracy for ETH, with a win rate of nearly 78%.

Possible price targets include the July open at $1,933, the August 2022 bear market rally high at $2,031, and the year-to-date 2021 high at $2,142, according to the analyst.

Ethereum ETH TD9

Digging deeper into the data, McCann highlights the impressive performance of ETH following TD9 buy signals. The statistics reveal that, on average, the asset surged by over 2.6% in the seven days following the signal, with a median return of almost 5%. These figures alone could pique the interest of traders looking for an edge in the crypto market.

To provide a more nuanced picture, McCann narrowed the data to examine the year 2019, a period he deems analogous to the 2023 crypto market cycle. The results are even more captivating, showing a remarkable win rate of nearly 90% for TD9 buy signals during this period.

Go ahead and dig in now!

Not a good sign.

The groom would not make any eye contact with the bride.

So many photos where she is gazing lovingly at him, and hes just like 10 yard stare right over the top of her head.

Oops.

While shooting video, I attached a microphone to the groom for audio and proceeded to prepare for the ceremony.

Just as I was about to adjust my audio settings, the groom stepped into another room with a friend.

As I put on my headphones, I overheard the groom confiding in his friend, describing the wedding as a wedding of convenience and reassuring them not to be concerned about what would happen in their relationship.

Not a good start.

I did a wedding for an acquaintance and her husband.

7 Types of Non-Verbal Emotional Abuse You Should Recognize "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Emotional abuse is a form of manipulation that doesnt always rely on words to cause harm. Non-verbal emotional abuse is just as damaging and can be harder to detect. Understanding the various types of non-verbal emotional abuse is crucial for recognizing unhealthy behavior in relationships. Here are seven types to be aware of:

  1. Gestures and Facial Expressions: Negative gestures, such as eye-rolling, smirking, or sighing loudly, can be subtle yet powerful ways to belittle or demean someone without saying a word. Constant negative facial expressions can also create a hostile atmosphere and chip away at the victims self-esteem.
  2. Silent Treatment: The silent treatment involves ignoring or refusing to communicate with the other person. By stonewalling and withdrawing affection, the abuser exerts control and instills fear in their partner. This tactic can lead the victim to feel unworthy and powerless, desperate to regain the abusers attention.
  3. Dismissive Body Language: Dismissive body language, such as turning away, crossing arms, or standing with closed-off posture, sends a clear message of rejection and disapproval. It is an indirect way of conveying contempt and can cause the victim to feel unimportant and invalidated.
  4. Withholding Affection and Intimacy: An abusive partner may withhold affection, love, or intimacy as a means of punishment or control. This can leave the victim feeling unloved, unwanted, and emotionally deprived, damaging their self-esteem and emotional well-being.
  5. Passive Aggression: Non-verbal passive-aggressive behavior involves subtle acts of hostility and sabotage, such as intentionally forgetting commitments, giving backhanded compliments, or performing tasks with the intent of causing frustration or disappointment. The victim is left feeling confused and hurt, often unsure if they are being oversensitive.
  6. Social Isolation: An abusive partner may use non-verbal cues to isolate the victim from friends and family. This can include giving disapproving looks during social gatherings or refusing to engage with the victims loved ones, making the victim feel alienated and dependent solely on the abuser for support.
  7. Monitoring and Surveillance: Constantly checking the victims actions, tracking their whereabouts, or invading their privacy without consent are forms of non-verbal emotional abuse. These actions erode trust and autonomy, creating an atmosphere of fear and control.

Recognizing non-verbal emotional abuse is essential to protect oneself or others from toxic relationships. If you suspect that you or someone you know is experiencing any form of emotional abuse, seek help from a trusted friend, family member, or a professional counselor. Remember, no one deserves to be subjected to abuse, and there...

The Most Splendid Housing Bubbles in America: Home Prices Drop The Most Year-Over-Year In Over A Decade "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Wolf Richter,

Home price rise since 2012 may be coming to an end: Shiller. Biggest YoY drops: Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, Portland, Denver, Dallas.

Probably whats happening with the increase in home prices, its just seasonal, its the summer, typically it [the Case-Shiller National Home Price Index] is going up in the summer, Robert Shiller, one of the guys that developed the Case-Shiller Home Price Index, told CNBC yesterday. It has been just growing ever since 2012, about 10 years in the US of steady growth in home prices, he said. But it may be coming to an end with the advent of this interest-rate rising cycle. It was the second time in the interview that Shiller used the phrase, may be coming to an end. Moments earlier hed said: The fear of interest rate increases has influenced peoples thinking its not just the homeowners, its new buyers who wanted to get in before the interest rates went up even more. They wanted to lock in. So thats been a positive influence on the market. But its coming to an end, he said. Todays S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index for May is a three-month moving average of home prices whose sales were entered into public records in March, April, and May so thats smack-dab in the spring selling season, when prices always rise from the prior month, even during Housing Bust 1. And given the lag in the Case-Shiller Index, the spring selling season is reported in the summer, and typically it is going up in the summer, as Shiller said. On a month-to-month basis, the 20-City Case-Shiller Index rose 1.5% in May from April, but it wasnt enough, and compared to a year ago, it fell by 1.7%, the third month in a row of year-over-year declines, and the biggest since 2012:...

Fallout From Hunter Bidens Art Grift Is a Legitimate Crisis of His Own Making "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By KLAUS MARRE, DONKEYHOTEY, If a picture says more than a thousand words, then Hunter Bidens paintings tell a troubling tale of greed and yet another president who is putting family above country. Two years ago, when details emerged of how presidential son and serial grifter Hunter Biden tried to turn some of his paintings into hundreds of thousands of dollars, we warned that this would be an excellent opportunity for people to ingratiate themselves with his dad. And guess what; thats exactly what appears to have happened. New reporting shows that at least one of the buyers of this artwork was a major Democratic donor whom President Joe Biden ended up appointing to a prestigious commission. Ultimately, it doesnt matter whether that appointment constitutes a material benefit or whether this is the kind of position that a big donor would have gotten in any case. What matters is that this creates the appearance of impropriety. As we pointed out at the time, this art sale should never have been allowed to proceed because of precisely this kind of thing. Not just because Joe Biden was supposed to be a different kind of president after years of Donald Trumps nepotism, corruption and self-dealing, but also because this is exactly the kind of arrangement that invites the scrutiny of Republican lawmakers hellbent on...

Dont you just love stories of petty revenge?

Of course, you do!

We all do!

And we think youre gonna get a big kick out of this story that a man posted on Reddit.

Hang on tight and enjoy the ride!

Kick my family out, Enjoy the smell

A few years ago, My family, wife and kids went to a new country for a couple weeks, and had booked a rather nice airbnb. It cost $4000 for two weeks, so it better be nice.

Anyhow, we were offered the services of the housekeeper at $20 a day, after three days, I decided to call her, and have her come, but right away, I got a weird feeling from her, so I told her just to clean for a couple hours, and I would pay her for the whole day. I didnt want her in the house when we werent there.

While that ticked her off so she told the owners we had ruined the place, and caused a bunch of damage. They immediately emailed me and said we needed to get out, and they were calling the cops on us, and werent refunding us.

Feeling vulnerable in another country with a family to protect isnt a fun situation, but luckily we secured a motel nearby (major downgrade, but had availability).

After arguing back and forth with the owner via email, I told the host we wouldnt leave, and they would have to get the cops to come unless someone came and brought me a cash refund.

So lo and behold...

Lets take a look

AITA for leaving my sister in hospital while she had a stillbirth because I had to do my MCAT?

Mia had a high risk pregnancy, placenta previa and some other issues. She eventually had to get a c-section a week earlier than expected, but the baby was stillborn, which was terrible.

I had my MCAT the day after Mia delivered, and shed told me before that she wanted me to stay with her, we talked before they took her in and she was a screaming crying mess. I ended up leaving since I had my exam early morning, and I came back to the hospital as soon as I finished. I did hear the awful news that the baby was stillborn before the exam but I didnt go then.

Adorable Train Redesigned With Sacred Nara Deer Decor Is a Big Hit in Japan "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Adorable Train Redesigned With Sacred Nara Deer Decor Is a Big Hit in Japan

Nara Deer Train in Japan

Photo: @mareiii04

Seeing wild animals in the middle of a city is a rare occurrence in most places, but not in the Japanese city of Nara. Here, there is an unrestricted deer population which is considered sacred and given free rein to roam the streets. As a result, the ancient capital has become a popular tourist destination for people who want to see animals occupying a manmade city completely unfettered. In fact, there is even a train that passes through the city that is inspired by the deer population.

The Narashika Train, or Nara Deer Train, does not look like any ordinary train. Each carriage features a green and grass-like floor, and tan-and-spotted seats modeled after the coat of the deer. Even the usual handgrips have been exchanged for special, deer-themed ones. And if that weren't enough, there are also banners featuring the friendly creatures hanging every few feet, and illustrations placed on the walls and windows. Altogether, these creative elements create a bucolic atmosphere reminiscent of the city of Nara itself.

Though this special train hasn't been in service for longonly since December 2022it has already amassed an enthusiastic following. It runs on the Kintetsu Line between Kintetsu Nara and Kobe Sannomiya stations; however, since the trains run randomly, it is not always guaranteed you will be able to take a seat on the fuzzy deer seats. Still, if you're able to visit Nara, it's well worth a try. You never know. Perhaps, you will be able to take a ride on the cute, deer train.

If you visit the Japanese city of Nara, be sure to visit the Narashika Train, or Nara Deer Train.

Deadly Russian Strikes on Odesa Damage Historic Cathedral "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Two weeks after destroying a historic building in Lviv, Russian missiles hit the city center of Odesa, a World Heritage Site, killing one person and injuring 22 others. In a series of rocket attacks on the city, 61 buildings were damaged, including 28 structures considered highly significant to Ukrainian architectural heritage.

Starting on July 19, Russia has conducted a series of missile attacks on Odesa, a port city on the Black Sea, targeting grain and oil terminals and port equipment. The attacks began after Russia withdrew from the Black Sea grain initiative on Monday, July 17.

On July 23, missiles hit the city center, damaging the Orthodox Transfiguration Cathedral (a replica of the original 1794 church destroyed by the Soviet government in 1936 and rebuilt in 2010) as well as structures associated with Classicist and modernist architecture dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries. According to the Odesa city administration, the heaviest damage hit so-called revenue houses and residential houses belonged to members of the aristocracy in the 19th century. Some of the damaged structures were built as early as the 1830s.

Etel Adnans Mountain of Love "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Dear Etel,

I have just traveled from the peaks of California, wrapped in a luscious mist atop the jagged cliffs and ocean infinite, to the creases and folds of the Dom mountain in the Swiss Alps, where milky fog rests on pine forests sprawled under snowy peaks. You are everywhere, flowing in those heights, hills, sea breezes, clouds, moody skies, and birdsongs. I follow you in this incessant exile toward desire and freedom. I see you, I imagine your gaze settling into the horizon, longing for our beloved Beirut, where I am headed next. I am here to study philosophy, as you and my mother did; I am a professor, as you and my aunt Ketty were. Now our guides are gone, and we are lost. As you taught me to, I dive into our ancestral myths and cosmologies looking for the source, from the Mediterranean to Babylon, seeking truth in the scripts of Gilgamesh, Zarathustra, Isis, Ishtar, and ghazals. We were colonized time and time again, and men tried to tame us, but we went searc...

New California Law Covers 100% of College Costs for Foster Youth "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

New California Law Covers 100% of College Costs for Foster Youth

Californian Foster Youth Can Go to College for Free

Photo: Mikos/Depositphotos

Financing higher education is a challenge for most U.S. students, but it can be particularly difficult for those in foster care. A new law in California seeks to change the circumstances of over 60,000 foster youth by covering the entire cost of collegefrom tuition to housingat any UC, Cal State, or California community college.

Senate Bill 307 will make it possible for thousands of teenagers in foster care who want to continue their education, which is estimated to be 93% according to a recent survey. However, due to a lack of resources, only 4% of former foster youth are able to reach a bachelor's degree by the age of 26 in comparison to 50% of students who were not part of the foster system.

[This is] a potential game changer for tens of thousands of California's foster youth with dreams of going to college, California Senator Angelique Ashby says. This legislation expands the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) to have 100% of their unmet need covered, including for books, food, lodging, after other aid is applied. All students can participate in the program regardless of their high school performance.

The state of California has done a good job historically of paying for tuition for foster youth who find their way to college, Ashby adds, but it didn't cover everything, including housing, which for foster youth then you might as well cover nothing if you're not going to cover the housing.

There will be $25 million allocated to this program annually so foster youth can go to college debt-free. The next step, according to former foster youth Shane Harris, is to spread the word and let stude...

How I Built my Square Outdoor Dining Table for 8

The plans for this table are below, but I wanted to also share some photos of the build steps.

attach table aprons to legs with pocket holes

I used pocket holes to attach the aprons to the legs.  I used 4x4s for the legs and 2x4s for the aprons.

build two legs sets as shown

It's easy to build - just build two of the leg sets -

attach leg sets together

Then make the table frame by adding the remaining aprons.

Intuitive Astrology Forecast August 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

August 2023 starts and ends with a Full Moon. On August 1st, we have the Aquarius Super Full Moon, and on August 30th, we have the Pisces Super Blue Full Moon.

Having two Full Moons in the same calendar month means August will be a time for releasing, clearing, and letting go. All that is no longer resonant with our being will be up for release, and once we reach the months end, we will likely find ourselves wading through some empty spaces.

From August 23rd, both Venus and Mercury will be in retrograde. In fact, we will have a total of six major cosmic players in retrograde throughout August, with Venus and Mercury being the strongest.

All of this retrograde energy could create a sluggish feeling. We may feel like we are moving in circles, or perhaps having to go back over things we thought we had already dealt with. Our patience may be wearing thin, but there will not be a lot we can do to make things move any faster.

When we have a large amount of retrograde energy coursing through the cosmic skies, it is almost in our best interest to move slowly and with deliberate intention.

Dont be in a rush to finalize things this month. Instead, go with the pace of how the Universe wants you to flow. If you keep hitting brick walls, you dont have to push through, instead, you can take a few steps back, admire the view, sit in anything that is uncomfortable, and then wait for the right next action to find you. This passive state is not powerless, in fact, it is highly empowering, and this is even doubly so when retrograde energies are flowing.

August 2023 also brings some power days where we are likely to feel energized and uplifted. The Lionsgate 88 Portal on August 8, the Venus Star Point on August 13, plus the meeting of the Sun and Regulus on August 21-23, are three power times in the month where we can harness some high vibrational energy. These are also days we can connect with some lightness and ease and perhaps feel some respite from the heaviness of the retrogrades.

Lets take a closer look into some of the main astrological events of the month and how you can work with the energies-

August 1: Aquarius Super Full Moon

The month begins with a healing Full Moon. While the energies of the month hold some intensity, this Full Moon feels to be a gentle, guiding force, taking our hand and revealing to us all that is just no longer a fit for our highest well-being. Soak up the healing energy that is circulating and channel it into your being, especially if you are feeling dysregulated or are called to let go of something meaningful. Aquarius is an air sign, which means we may feel a lot of energy and emotions centered...

ESO Unveils Incredible Photo Revealing How Giant Planets Are Formed "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

ESO Unveils Incredible Photo Revealing How Giant Planets Are Formed

Material orbiting star V960 Mon by ESO

Photo: ESO/ALMA (ESO/NAOJ/NRAO)/Weber et al.

The European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (VLT) has just captured an image that will help scientists understand how giant planets are formed. By focusing on a young star 5,000 light-years away that has seen a marked increase in brightness over the past nine years, they were able to observe something extraordinary.

The star V960 Mon, which is located in the Monoceros constellation, grabbed the attention of astronomers because it brightened so dramatically over a short time. Shortly after the change, the VLT's Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet REsearch (SPHERE) instrument showed that material orbiting the young star had come together to form spiral arms that extend farther than the entire Solar System.

To get a closer look at what was going on, they used the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), which can peer into the dust. It was then that it became clear that the spiral arms were breaking into fragments and forming large clumps. This discovery is key because astronomers believe that one of two ways a giant planet can form is by gravitational instability. This occurs when large fragments of material around a star contract and collapse.

No one had ever seen a real observation of gravitational instability happening at planetary scalesuntil now, said Philipp Weber, a researcher at the University of Santiago, Chile, who led the study published today in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

But did he act like an a**hole when he did this?

Check out his story below and see what you think.

AITA for going on vacation without my children from a previous marriage?

My ex-wife Kate and I have two kids (Mike, 16 and Abby, 14). We had a turbulent marriage and split for many reasons. It wasnt amicable and I had to fight for custody.

Kate and I both remarried. She didnt have children with her new husband. I have three (9F, 7F, 5M) kids with my wife and also gained a stepdaughter (19). My stepdaughters father left after he found out my wife was pregnant, so she never knew her father.

When I came into their lives I took on the role of a father figure. As far as blended families go, I am really lucky that we are all happy. My stepdaughter and I have good relationship and Mike and Abby love their siblings from my wife.

The only person that is against my family is my Kate. My wife is black and this has been a point of contention since the beginning. Especially the fact that my wife is a very dark-skinned black woman is problematic to her. Kate, her husband and...

Public Concern Mounts over Southern Border Crisis "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

A recent Gallup poll reveals 94% of American adults perceive the situation at the southern border as a crisis or problem. Despite some efforts to downplay the issue, the public remains acutely aware of the escalating conditions. Controversially, the Biden administrations new parole system grants legal entry to potential illegal migrants, blurring the lines between legal and illegal. The systems predicted to admit over half a million asylum seekers annually, raising concerns for national security. Critics argue this approach masks the issue instead of addressing it, a sentiment shared by the majority of Americans surveyed. For the prosperity and security of the nation, many demand more transparency and rightful actions to tackle the border crisis.

How Does Untreated Burnout Manifest? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Wir wrden das al Burnout nennen, the woman told me.

Translation from German: We would call that burnout.

Different stages of burnt matches on yellow background, flat layLast November, I was riding on a train from Basel, Switzerland, to Hanover, Germany. As the train left Basel, I settled into my window seat and enjoyed watching the countryside as the train rolled along. A couple hours into the trip, a woman boarded the train and asked me if the seat next to me was free. I nodded yes and adjusted the bag at my feet to make a little more room for her. As the train pulled away from the station, we began chatting in German, asking the typical questions such as where are you traveling to and where are you from.

I am from the US. I was in Basel and am now heading to Berlin. Years ago, I lived in Basel for eight months while studying at the university, I said. As we continued to chat, I told her that I get a lot of synchronicity and improbable connections that are often a lot of fun. I then told her how synchronicity is related to Basel. Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung, who coined the term synchronicity, grew up near Basel. In addition, he studied at the University of Basel and for a few years, he was a professor there. So even my relationship to Basel has a much deeper meaning and connection for me. As we continued chatting, I shared a few of my goofy synchronicity stories as I call them. She enjoyed them, and we laughed together.

At some point in the conversation, the woman asked me what I do for a living. I told her that I have worked as a statistician, a technical writer, a knowledge engineer, and as a software tester. I then said that I really want to get into writing and public speaking to help bring about change to the mental health system. I told her of the severe stress breakdown that I endured back in 1998 and how I was t...

A Brain Swelling Tick-Borne Illness Is Spreading In Europe "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The experts are once again blaming climate change for the spread of a tick-borne illness that causes brain swelling. Doctors recorded the first confirmed case of tick-borne encephalitis virus acquired in the United Kingdom in 2022.

So it has to be climate change right? If not, how else will take away literally everything anyone has acquired over their lifetimes and enslave them?

According to a report by Grist, tick-borne encephalitis, or TBE, is a potentially deadly disease that experts like to say is spreading into new regions due in large part to global warming. The report claims that studies have shown that several tick-borne illnesses are becoming more prevalent because of climate change. Public health officials are particularly concerned about TBE, which is deadlier than more well-known tick diseases such as Lyme due to the way it has quickly jumped from country to country.

WHO Warns Europes Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Outbreak Could Be The Next Pandemic

Not long ago, the media was warning of Cimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever spreading in Europe and that it would likely reach the United Kingdom. The fear-mongering seems to have abated over CCHF, which is also a tick-borne illness.

Gbor Fldvri, an expert at the Center for Ecological Research in Hungary, said the effects of climate change on TBE are unmistakable. Its a really common problem that was absent 20 or 30 years ago. He added: The number of overwintering ticks is increasing, and in spring there is high activity of ticks, said Gerhard Dobler, a doctor who works at the German Center for Infection Research. This may increase the contact between infected ticks and humans and cause more disease.

Ticks cant survive more than a couple of days in temperatures below zero, but theyre able to persevere in very warm conditions as long as theres enough humidity in the environment. As Earth warms on average and winters become milder, ticks are becoming active earlier in the year. Climate change affects ticks at every stage of their life cycle egg, six-legged larva, eight-legged nymph, and adult by extending the length of time ticks actively feed on humans and animals. Even a fraction of a degree of global warming creates more opportunity for ticks to breed and spread disease. Grist......

Digital Shovel Unveils NanoPOD, A Compact And Efficient Bitcoin Mining Solution "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Digital Shovel, the industry leading manufacturer of turnkey, mobile crypto mining containers, has announced the launch of their latest innovation, the NanoPOD. Designed specifically for small to medium mining operations, the NanoPOD stands out as the company's most compact and efficient offering to date, setting a new standard in size and convenience.

With a footprint small enough to fit through a 7-foot tall door and occupying a mere two standard skid spaces in a tractor trailer, the NanoPOD seeks to optimize miners space and enhance their capabilities. Similar to its larger counterparts, the m300 and i300 MiniPods, the NanoPOD offers a rugged and easy-to-deploy, all-in-one solution that can be used both indoors and outdoors.

"We at Digital Shovel are dedicated to assisting businesses in scaling their crypto mining operations with turn-key mobile units," explained CEO Scot Johnson. "The NanoPOD represents a new era of affordability and enhanced security for small to medium miners, and we are thrilled to unveil it to the mining community here at Mining Disrupt in Miami."

Key features of the NanoPOD include flexible power options, capable of supporting single phase 220-240v and three-phase 415-380v and 220-240v. With a miner capacity of up to 120 kW, the NanoPOD can house 28 Bitmain S19 Miners or 36 Whatsminers, providing ample power for optimized mining performance.

The NanoPOD also incorporates Smart PDUs, enabling individual circuit wattage monitoring, automated switching of each circuit (both manual and auto modes), an atmospheric monitoring system, heat vectoring management system, and automated fan control for effective temperature regulation.

In terms of ventilation and filtration, the NanoPOD utilizes six awning-based intakes measuring 6-24 x 24 x 4, along with six 2100 CFM blower fans. To emphasize its eco-friendly focus, the NanoPOD has been engineered with high heat recycling capabilities, allowing blower fans to be partially ducted towards buildings or greenhouses in need of heat. A remote thermostat empowers users to monitor the temperature within the structure and automatically reroute excess heat once the desired temperature is reached.

The launch of the NanoPOD marks a step forward in the Bitcoin mining industry, providing smaller miners with a highly accessible and sophisticated solution for their operations.

Worldcoin Founders Refusal To Answer Token Distribution Question Sparks Controversy "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Worldcoin co-founder Alex Blanias recent refusal to disclose the tokens distribution model has raised some eyebrows, including that of John Deaton, who has expressed his dismay at his action.

Something Fishy With Worldcoin?

A video surfaced on Twitter in which Alex Blania, during a recent Bankless interview alongside fellow co-founder Sam Altman, refused to respond to the hosts question on Worldcoins token distribution, citing the regulatory uncertainty in the US as why he couldnt answer the question.

The Twitter user (@Pledditor) posted the video with the caption:

When a crypto founder refuses to answer questions about token distribution

In the video, the host asks Blania to explain the distribution of the WLD token and Blania is quoted as saying: Look, many of the details we cant talk about here for the regulatory uncertainty in the United States.

The video quickly went viral and sparked controversy as to whether Worldcoin was just another ponzinomics or, indeed, Alex Blania was honest about why he couldnt answer the question.

However, renowned crypto lawyer John Deaton, who represents some XRP holders, quickly reacted to the video in a tweet.

Deatons tweet read:

Wtf did this dude just say?  Did he literally say that he cant talk about how WorldCoin is distributed because of the regulatory uncertainty in the United States?

If there was ever a signal to RUN AWAY as fast as you can from a project, HERE IT IS. Is he saying he cant tell you how to acquire it or what youre acquiring because he might get sued?

Now that I think of it, is he being smart and just following legal advice or is he a moron.

Deaton stated that Blanias action was enough reason for investors to run away from th...
