Man Wants Uterus So He Can be First Trans Woman to Have Abortion "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Micaiah Bilger, Treating killing an unborn baby as if it was a badge of honor, a radical transgender activist said he wants to have a uterus and ovary transplant in order to become the first trans-female to have an abortion. On Tuesday, Libs of TikTok, a social media account that exposes radical leftist extremism, shared a video of the transgender activist, a biological male, making the disturbing comment online, according to Live Action News. I want to be the first trans woman to have a successful uterus transplant, ovaries and eggs included, and I want to be the first trans-woman to have an abortion, the activist said in the video. Likely an attempt to gain attention by shocking his audience, the unnamed activist went on to say he will have as much gay sex as it takes with as many trans-women as it takes and let the transphobes and homophobes scratch their heads wondering what to make of it. The activist said he wants the uterus and ovaries to come from a willing, healthy, trans-masculine donor, for whom I will devote myself heart and soul to their aftercare. His goal is to get pregnant and become the first transwoman to have an abortion, he added. https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1678892214682890241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1678892214682890241%7Ctwgr%5E8d07eec6699a68a33d37c19d84e59e42815a232e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lifenews.com%2F2023%2F07%2F13%2Fman-wants-a-uterus-so-he-can-be-first-trans-woman-to-have-abortion%2F But there is little chance he will achieve it. Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Telling Her Mom to Treat Her Brothers the Same Way She Treats Her "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

AITATreatMyBrothers Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Telling Her Mom to Treat Her Brothers the Same Way She Treats Her

What a concept, huh?

Treating all of your children equally?

Who wouldve guessed?!?!

Well, apparently this woman had to try to set her mom straight because she wants her brothers treated the same way as her.

Read on to see if you think she was out of line.

AITA for telling my mom to treat my brothers the same way I am?

I (22F) have two brothers for the sake of this post Ill call them John (18M) and Terry (16M).

My mom (50F) has always had a stronger liking towards both John and Terry, ever since they were little they could do no harm in her eyes.

Since I was little I would always get in trouble for everything John and Terry did, if they hurt each other it was my fault, if they did something wrong it was my fault etc. My mom always raised me as a caregiver, I had to basically take care of my little brothers, I was the one cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing their clothes, buying them stuff they needed, helping them with their homework etc.

However, due to me always doing everything for them, they have become the most useless human beings on the entire earth. They are almost adults and still wont do their own laundry, wont help with the cooking, wont clean anything that they made a mess and are just overall grubs, leaving their dirty tissues and clothes everywhere.

Last night was the last straw for me when J...

Watch Giant Cats Attack Train Sets at This Quirky Japanese Restaurant "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Watch Giant Cats Attack Train Sets at This Quirky Japanese Restaurant

Seemingly giant cat resting on a miniature train track

Photo: Screenshot from YouTube

In popular culture, Japan is home to some very large creatures like Godzilla and Mothra. If you visit the Diorama Restaurant in Osaka, Japan, you will find giant cats as well. The charming eatery, which doubles as a cat shelter, is home to beautiful scale models of landscapes and tiny towns which appear to be overrun by large felines. As if that weren't enticing enough, the restaurant also features a miniature train that goes around the locale, although its rides are rarely free of incidents. A small camera attached to the train captures the many ways these trips are interrupted by seemingly monumental kitties.

It is incredibly entertaining to see the (very-normal-sized) cats interact with the miniature train as it travels around the grassy hills of the restaurant. The true magic of the experience, however, lies in seeing the point-of-view footage of these epic rides. Sometimes, the train bumps into a sleepy cat who, despite seeing the convoy coming in, doesn't want to move from its snuggly spot. Other times, a feline silently prowls the train until an off-camera force turns it on its side. Since every cat's personality differs, it adds a layer of adrenaline to each trip.

Due to the nature of the place, the Diorama Restaurant is reservation-only. The Diorama Cafeteria is open in three parts, with lunchtime, tea time, and time spent together, reads their website. There is no difference in the service contents except for the contents of the meal each time. Occasionally, a free slot will open up, so you can check their Twitter to snag a same-day reservation.

If you're too far away from Japan but still want to be up to date with these giant cats' shenanigans, you can follow the Diorama Restaurant on...

Artist Enhances His Original Drawings by Openly Embracing AI as Creative Tool [Interview]

Mixed Media AI Artwork by Cy Teh

While many artists are running from AI, digital artist Cy Teh has embraced its creative possibilities. By blending his digital drawings with AI, he's creating unique mixed-media artworks that have taken his artistry to a new level.

As opposed to some creators who have hidden their use of this technology, Teh is very transparent about his creative process. Even his Instagram bio says: Digital Artist + AI. Additionally, all of Teh's posts are accompanied by a caption that clearly explains that the images are a combination of his hand-drawn work and AI.

I will keep moving forward and learning the good parts of each field, the captions continue. I hope to share the fun with you through this platform. If it offends you. I sincerely apologize to you here.

Teh's evocative work speaks to the best of AI and the way it can be used by people to enhance creativity rather than to steal ideas or fool the public. His haunting portraits of young and old men and women are mesmerizing, making the viewer wonder what the story is behind the artwork.

It's these human aspects that take Teh's digital art far beyond what we're used to seeing with AI. This made us curious to chat with him about his use of the technology and how it's been received by the public. Read on for My Modern Met's exclusive interview.

The Power of Self-Love: How Love For Self Can Help Our Planet Heal Fast "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Earth strives to maintain its integrity. Currently, the earth feels bereft of its integrity, disrespected, and hated. Earth is a living thing that loves you and provides you with a home. Earth is about to restore its purity and let you realize how important it is to love Earth in order to love yourself. Love the earth and yourself because they are one and the same. We need to be conscious of what we are doing with our lives because we are not only part of the earth but also part of the universe. We are made up of atoms that were created in another galaxy billions of years ago, and now we live on this planet with other beings like us. We have to take care of our planet so it can live for many more years. When we love ourselves and others enough, we will automatically give things back to Earth and the universe. This means that if we don't love ourselves or others enough, nothing will change in our lives, even though we want something different from what is happening now! Let's start now by loving ourselves and others! Earth is a body that has been alive for billions of years. It has been through many changes in order to survive. We are here to experience life on Earth and learn from her, but we must also protect her. She needs us now more than ever before because she is under attack from all sides: from the sun that is burning her skin, from the water that pulls away the minerals needed for life, destroying everything she holds dear, and from man himself, who wants only power over nature for his own selfish gains. All these sources of suffering are coming closer together today than ever before! Earth has been working on herself for many years now, but she has not been able to get all of her healing done because she needed your help. She has been through so much trauma, pain, and suffering that she cannot heal herself alone. She needs you to help her heal so that she can return to her...

Moral Compass: The Political Spectrum And Our Understandings Of Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Dea Rezkitha, an Indonesian Bitcoin educator and podcast host.

In politics, individuals are often grouped into left and right wings, but the complexities go well beyond this simple dichotomy. To gain a deeper understanding of peoples beliefs and values, and ultimately how these will inform their outlook on Bitcoin, it is crucial to consider their social views as well. This is where a political compass comes into play, serving as a valuable tool for analysis.

What Is A Political Compass?

The political compass is a graphical representation of political ideologies that helps categorize individuals or groups based on their views on two main axes: economic policy (left-right) and social policy (authoritarian-libertarian). It provides a more nuanced understanding of political ideologies beyond the traditional left-right spectrum.

You can easily take the political compass test at this link.

Source

The political compass allows for a more comprehensive understanding of political ideologies by incorporating both economic and social dimensions. It recognizes that political views cannot be easily reduced to a simple left-right spectrum and acknowledges the varying degrees of government intervention and social control that different ideologies advocate for.

The left-right axis reflects a spectrum of economic policy preferences. On the left side, you find ideologies that generally advocate for greater government intervention in the economy and more equitable distribution of wealth and resources. These ideologies may support policies such as progressive taxation, social welfare programs and government regulation of industries. They often prioritize social justice and reducing inequality.

On the right side, you find ideologies that favor less government intervention in the economy and emphasize individual freedom and free markets. These ideologies tend to support lower taxes, limited government regulation and free trade. They believe that economic prosperity is best achieved through minimal government interference and individual initiative.

The authoritarian-libertarian axis represents social policy preferences and the degree of government control over personal freedoms. Authoritarian ideologies advocate for a strong central authority that exercises control over various aspects of society. They may support strict law enforcement, censorship and limitations on individual rights in the name of maintaining social order and stability.

Libertarian ideologies, on the other hand, emphasize individual liberty and limited go...

Whats a good insult that doesnt really sound like an insult?

Heres what AskReddit users had to say.

Customer service technique I use: the customer is ranting and yelling on the phone. I dont say anything or try to interrupt.

Then when they pause and ask if Im still there, I say Yes, I was just waiting for you to finish. Takes the wind out of their sails every. time.

Dogecoin Engagement Fails To Impress, Raising Concerns About Broader Interest "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Is Dogecoin (DOGE losing its charm? Despite the impressive price rally in May, recent trends suggest a decline in engagement and investor interest. As the crypto market continues to evolve, concerns are mounting about the broader implications of Dogecoins waning appeal.

Dogecoins engagement metrics have faltered, leaving some experts wondering if the cryptos allure is wearing off. Market indicators show a decline in trading volume, with fewer transactions taking place compared to previous months.

Will this once-beloved digital currency be able to regain its momentum, or is its star beginning to fade?

Dogecoin New Addresses Stagnant

The growth of new addresses joining the Dogecoin community has hit a roadblock since May, according to a recent DOGE price report. However, on-chain data analysis reveals that this stagnation in new holders has not adversely affected the weighted sentiment associated with the cryptocurrency.

As of the latest update, DOGEs weighted sentiment stands at -0.645. This metric provides insights into the average sentiment attached to a particular cryptocurrency, taking into account the unique social volume surrounding it.

Interestingly, despite the somewhat negative value, the weighted sentiment has shown improvement from its low point of -1.99 on June 9. This shift suggests that the prevailing defeatist perception during that period has gradually shifted towards a more optimistic outlook.

Social Volume And Holder Count: A Diverging Trend

However, while the weighted sentiment demonstrates a positive trajectory, the coins social volume tells a different story. Instead of aligning with the stagnant number of holders, the social volume of Dogecoin has remained remarkably low since June 9, as per Santiments data.

Social volume measures the number of mentions and discussions...

Polygon (MATIC) Flexes Muscles In The Last Week With 27% Gain Details "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Polygon (MATIC) has demonstrated a significant price surge in the past week, rising by 27.39%. This bullish momentum has been further reinforced by a 9.38% increase in the last 24 hours. However, in the most recent hour, the price experienced a slight decline of 1.04%. Currently trading at $0.84 per MATIC, the cryptocurrency remains 71.11% below its all-time high of $2.92.

Polygon (MATIC) has experienced an uptick in value this week: Source

Reasons For The Price Movement

Multiple factors have contributed to the recent price movement of the crypto. Firstly, a favorable court ruling for XRP ripple effect on market sentiment, potentially influencing the performance of other cryptocurrencies like MATIC. The courts determination that XRP is not a security has provided investors reassurance and positively impacted the overall cryptocurrency market.

Related Reading: PEPE Sees Sharp 17% Surge, But Will This Whale Spoil The Party?

Furthermore, the increased activity of decentralized applications (Dapps) on the Polygon Network has significantly driven up demand for MATIC. The networks reputation as a scalable and efficient solution for the Ethereum network has attracted numerous developers and users to build and interact with Dapps on the platform. This heightened interest in the Polygon Network has increased demand for MATIC tokens.

Additionally, the highly anticipated launch of Polygon 2.0 has generated excitement within the community. This proposed upgrade aims to enhance the functionality and scalability of the Polygon Network, allowing for the support of multiple chains without compromising security. If successfully implemented, Polygon 2.0 could further solidify MATICs position as a leading blockchain solution, potentially attracting more investors and driving higher prices.

Expectations For Polygon

Looking ahead, Polygon holds promising prospects for further growth and development. With a total value locked (TVL) of $1 billion on the Polygon Network, the platform has established itself as a prominent second-layer scaling solution for Ethereum. The increasing TVL, which has grown from $878 million in the previous month, indicates...

BNB Chain Inks New Record With Soaring User Activity A Boost For Price? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BNB Chain, the blockchain platform powering the Binance ecosystem, has recently emerged as a formidable force in the crypto world, surpassing its competitors in terms of daily active users. This surge in user engagement has coincided with a surge in the value of the BNB token, which has experienced a steady increase of over 5% within a single week.

As BNBs daily active users continue to soar, one cant help but question the overall impact of this unprecedented growth. What lies behind BNBs ability to outshine its rivals and attract a growing user base? Is there a hidden catalyst propelling its value upwards?

Moreover, as these metrics diverge from the norm, skeptics begin to raise valid concerns about the sustainability and potential risks associated with BNBs rise.

BNB Chain Surpasses BTC, ETH In Daily Active Users

In the ever-evolving landscape of blockchain technology, BNB Chain has recently achieved a significant milestone, surpassing renowned chains such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in terms of daily user activity. According to a BNB analysis, the chain secured the second position, solidifying its position as a formidable player in the crypto world.

Token Terminals data also revealed that BNB Chain boasts an impressive count of over 1 million daily active users, a testament to the platforms growing popularity and appeal. This notable achievement is even more remarkable considering the longstanding dominance of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have traditionally held the top positions in the cryptocurrency market.

The BNB token has also made waves in the market. Currently priced at $248.78, it experienced a slight setback with a 3.5% slump in the past 24 hours. However, the token quickly bounced back with a decent 5.4% increase in the last week.

Oh right, youre my mom and dad!

Check out his story and see what you think.

AITA for pretending not to recognize my parents when they tried to reconnect?

I was raised mostly by my uncle and aunt. My older sister developed a serious illness when I was 6 and my parents decided that they couldnt care for both of us I guess, so they kind of unceremoniously dumped me at my grandparents and my uncle took me in.

Like, didnt even explain to me what was going on, just youre going to go visit gran for awhile and never picked me back up. My grandparents and uncle explained it later, and they were pretty livid at my parents. Ive seen my parents maybe 5 times since then and not at all for the last 9 years. I decided to stop having contact with them when I was 12 and since I was the only one reaching out all communication broke down.

It turned out ok, I love my aunt and uncle and it turns out they cant have kids so theyve always said Im their miracle kid, I was just misrouted by the stork at first. I was formally adopted by them when I turned 18, I wish it had been earlier but there were some red tape things that would have...

He Wont Forgive His Dad for Breaking a Deal. Is He Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

AITAForgivingDad He Wont Forgive His Dad for Breaking a Deal. Is He Wrong?

Have you ever had someone go back on their word and it really hurt you?

Yeah, thats always badbut its even worse when one of your parents does it.

So is this guy wrong for not forgiving his dad for breaking a deal?

Check out his story and see what you think.

AITA for refusing to forgive my Dad for breaking our deal?

When I (17 M) was 8, my parents bought me a piano and signed me up for lessons. I was super excited because I love music. Over time I kind of became known as the piano guy at school. I play at school concerts, accompany the school jazz choir, and play once a week for the residents at a couple of retirement homes in our town.

When I was 15, I started to talk about quitting lessons, and my parents quickly tried to guilt me out of it. I told them I wanted to try other things, and that between piano and studying, I didnt have much time left for other extra curriculars. My Dad proposed a deal.

If I kept playing and taking lessons until I reached level 10 RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), and continued to keep my grades up at school, he would buy me a new car of my choice. I jumped at it and we shook hands on the deal.

I should explain that my family is well off financially. I have a very privileged life, but I wouldnt say Ive been spoiled. If I ever want a luxury item like a new phone or game console, I have to buy it myself with money Ive saved from summer and after school jobs.

I should also explain that my DadR...

These lip injections that women are getting these days are NO GOOD.

Well, at least thats my opinion

But Im just one dummy in a world of billions of people!

Check out what AskReddit users had to say about this.

Weird.

Theres a trend in female Kpop idols (Im not sure if its in South Korean culture as a wholeI know idol culture can be magnified quite a bit) to remove the fat from their cheeks, so their faces dont look so round and fat.

Every single woman Ive seen do it goes from looking gorgeous to looking vaguely alien. The round face seems to be seriously looked down upon, which is a d**n shame.

Ugh.

The Kardashian look.

I think that whatever they do to their lips and cheeks makes them a look like gelflings from The Dark Crystal.

All fake.

Overfilled lips.

Especially when combined with fake tan, fake t**s, fake nose, etc.

I feel bad for people that do this to themselves, but also disgusted by it.

Vast Hordes Of Americans Are Being Forced Out Into The Streets As The Middle Class Disintegrates "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By MICHAEL SNYDER, How many people will be sleeping in homeless shelters, on the streets or in their vehicles where you live tonight?  That is the sort of question that not a lot of us like to think about.  But the truth is that homelessness is growing at a very rapid pace all over the country right now.  But if you have lots of money, life probably seems pretty good to you at the moment.  You may eat at a different restaurant every night, and you may be one of the approximately 10 million Americans that currently own a second home.  Our leaders made the wealthy even wealthier by pumping trillions of dollars into the system in recent years, but as the cost of living has soared the poor have gotten even poorer and the middle class has steadily disintegrated.  So now the gap between the wealthy and the rest of the nation is larger than ever, and that is creating a tremendous amount of tension in our society. In California, vast hordes of homeless people sleep in the shadows of multi-million dollar homes every single night. And even though California has spent a whopping 17.5 billion dollars on homelessness during the last four years, the homeless population in the state has just continued to grow
California has spent a stunning $17.5 billion trying to combat homelessness over just four years. But, in the same time frame, from 2018 to 2022, the states homeless population actually grew. Half of all Americans living outside on the streets, federal data shows, live in California. Across the country, homelessness is on the rise. But California is adding more homeless people every year than any other state. More than 170,000 unhoused people now live here.
Just think about that number for a moment. There are 170,000 homeless people in just one state. And those are the ones...

Waiting for Buyers to Come: Unsold Electric Vehicles Piling Up in Car Dealerships, Says Report "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Naveen Athrappully, The number of unsold electric vehicles at dealers in the second quarter tripled compared to the past year, signaling a weakened demand for the segment, said a recent report by leading auto-dealer data company Cox Automotive. In second quarter 2023, the average inventory for electric vehicles (EVs) topped more than 92,000 units on the ground at dealer lots, according to the 2023 Cox Automotive Mid-Year Review presentation. This is up 342 percent compared to second quarter 2022. During this period, the new EV days supply, which refers to the average number of days a warehouse holds inventory before selling it, rose 166 percent, to 92 days from 38.5 days. While the pace of EV sales is up, it is not rising as fast as inventory builds, said Jonathan Gregory, senior manager, Economic and Industry Insights. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are facing a field of dreams moment, he stated. They have built inventory, and now they wait for buyers to come. This is one of the hottest topics weve had this year. Brands like Jaguar, Infiniti, and Lincoln had the highest days of supply, at over 100 days. The lowest numbers were seen among Toyota, Honda, Kia, and Lexus, with each brand having less than 30 days of supply.
Tesla continued to dominate the luxury EV segment with a market share of 25.5 percent, followed by Mercedes at 12.5 percent, BMW at 12.2 percent, and Lexus at 11 percent. Among EVs priced above $50,000, Ford held the biggest shar...

Should The Roommate Have To Replace The Exact Bottle Of Wine She Took From The Pantry? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

ReplaceMyWine Should The Roommate Have To Replace The Exact Bottle Of Wine She Took From The Pantry?

Those of us who enjoy wine know for sure that not every bottle is created equal, and when you find the bottle that speaks to you, its not something you forget.

OP lives in a place with two roommates, and generally they get along and have few issues sharing things and spaces. OP isnt as much of a drinker as one of the other girls, but recently found a bottle of wine she really enjoyed while on a trip with her sister.

I (23f) share an apartment with two roommates (28f and 25f.)

My 28f roommate, Morgan, sometimes has friends over, and theyll watch movies and drink something, usually wine.

I dont really drink, just once or twice a year on special occasions. The most recent time was because my sis wanted to do a wine tasting while we were on a trip together.

She bought a bottle and put in the pantry, saving it for a special occasion.

At the winery, I found the first wine that Ive actually enthusiastically liked: a spicy wine infused with hot peppers. I bought a bottle, took it home, and put it in my section of the shared pantry.

One night, she came home to her roommate and her roommates friends drinking it. OP was upset, and the roommate apologized and said one of her friends had opened it before shed realized it wasnt hers.

A couple of months went by without incident. Then one Friday night, I came home to Morgan and two of her friends drinking it. I confronted her about it, and she said that her fr...

Leo Season Horoscopes July-August 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Leo Season 2023 runs from July 22 to August 22 and is the time of the Sun. The Sun represents our unique inner flame. It is the Divine spark that lives within us that propels us toward our passions, our purpose, and our joy.

During Leo Season, we are invited to re-spark our inner flames by remembering our passions and what brings us joy. You may even naturally find during Leo Season that you are drawn to a new hobby, reading material, or experience that ignites your soul and gets you excited about life again.

Leo Season 2023, is particularly noteworthy due to the increasing number of planets shifting retrograde. When we have strong retrograde energy, we are invited to look back over the past, to reconsider things, and to perhaps investigate old issues we are yet to resolve.

During Leo Season 2022, Venus and Chiron will station retrograde, plus Mercury will also slow down in preparing for its retrograde on the 23rd. In fact, by the time Leo Season is complete, we will have 6 major cosmic bodies in retrograde.

Venus Retrograde will definitely be the stand out of the bunch, and seeing as she is the planet of love and relationships, and Leo also rules over the heart, we may find ourselves doing a lot of heart-centered healing work.

As we move into August, Leo Season also brings the activation of the Lionsgate 88 Portal, a highly charged cosmic portal that works with the energy of Leo and the star, Sirius.

Lets take a closer look into what Leo Season will bring for each sign of the zodiac. Remember, you can read for your Sun and Rising-

XRP Explodes With 1,300% Surge In Trading Volume As crypto Exchanges Jump On Board "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In a long-awaited decision, Judge Torres ruled in favor of XRP in their case against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday. The verdict is a positive development for the cryptocurrency industry, particularly with a focus on whether digital assets should be deemed securities in the US.

The ruling is expected to set a precedent for the industry moving forward. It is positive for both altcoins and the wider industry, as the default expectation is that these assets are not deemed securities so long as they are made available to the public.

This event will likely have wider implications for ongoing legal cases and may help rebuild confidence in the industry for developers and attract more liquidity to the ecosystem.

XRP Defies Expectations With Massive Price Surge And Trading Volume Spike

Following the news, XRP saw a surge in price, reaching as high as $0.93, the highest price since May 2021, and closing at $0.82.

According to data compiled by the research company CCData, the news led to an influx of trading activity, with XRP trading pairs on centralized exchanges (CEX) recording a total volume of $6.05 billion on the day, an increase of 1351% from the previous day.

The relisting of the asset on other centralized exchanges, including Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini has also contributed to the spike in volumes.

The news surrounding the ruling also led to almost 100% daily gains for XRP, with other tokens such as Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA), recently deemed securities, seeing significant gains of 35% and 28%, respectively.

Despite the negative backdrop that XRP has faced due to the lawsuit, its market depth liquidity at the 1% level has remained resilient year-to-date (YTD). XRPs 1% bid/ask side depth at Yearly Open was 26.5 million XRP, which saw a variance of 0.41% throughout the year and remained strong at 25.1 million XRP on the 12th of July.

Derivatives Data Shows Positive Sentiment

According to the report, Derivatives data indicate that XRPs positive funding rate remained steady over the past few days, in line with the wider positive market sentiment.

The lawsuit news generated a significant rise in speculative interest on the bid side, with a $280 million increase in Open Interest, from $635 million to a high of $913 million across exchanges. Moreover, funding rates reached over 0.03% across exchanges, over three times higher than its baseline level of under 0.01% before the announcement.

On the other hand, the funding rate history of XRP shows that speculators trading perpetual contracts have been favoring the upside, with minimal time......

Shelter Cat Gives a Making Biscuits Massage to Blind Dog Who Needs All the Love

Cat massages blind dog with its upper paws

It is well known that cats love to make biscuits by kneading into a soft surface. But for one cat named Elodie, this also means helping a friend feel better. In a video captured by the staff of Sunshine Animal Refuge Agadir (SARA) in Morocco, the kitty can be seen giving Tam, a blind dog with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a loving massage.

Tam has lived at the shelter for nine years. During his time there, he has developed a unique friendship with the felines living there.  Every day we witness beautiful connections between our residents, the shelter writes. They graciously gift him with moments of gentle care and unwavering affection.

Tam regularly shares his bed with at least two cats, Hazel Skeet, a volunteer at SARA, told The Dodo. All the cats adore him and give him cuddles and massages. Due to his condition, Tam could use all the love he can get. The Ehlers-Danlos syndrome makes the lovable dogs skin extra fragile and his joints prone to arthritis.

Tam lives at the shelter with his sister, Daccia, who shares the same condition. Still, that doesn't stop them from playing together and enjoying a laid back life with their friends. He spends the rest of his day sitting in the sun or shade, taking in the sounds and smells of the refuge, Skeet says. Occasionally, he will have a young puppy coming up to say hello, which he tolerates, but he mostly prefers to curl up with a cat friend.

While his condition makes him wary of strangers at first, Tam is known for showing his love once he feels comfortable. It takes a while to earn his trust, bu...

Watch a Dancer Perform a Highly Complex Underwater Mime Routine

Underwater dancer walking upwards and posing

Photo: Screenshot from Instagram

Dancing is, by nature, an intricate discipline that requires grace and precision. As if it weren't complex enough on the ground, can you imagine executing it flawlessly underwater? This is exactly what Jaydeep Gohil, also known as Hydroman, does. Playing with the buoyancy of water, he creates elaborate underwater routines displaying his incredible skill and body control. As a result, his videos are almost hypnotic.

One of his videos, titled The Inventor, quickly went viral on Reddit and Instagram for the sheer display of talent it features. In it, Gohil first seems to walk up an invisible staircase before showing off some dance moves and floating at the pretend top. He then does something even more bewildering. He begins walking upwards and goes in a clockwise motion to make a full circle in the water, as if his legs were the clock hands. In the end, he simply poses as if about to take a bow.

On top of the creativity behind the choreography, bringing it to life with such perfection takes different skills. Not only does he have to control every part of his body down to the detail, such as his hands and his feet, but he also likely has to hold an exact amount of air in his lungs to only float up to a certain level.

Gohil has also recreated Michael Jackson's famous moonwalk, doing so on a submerged pool table, and also upside down below the surface. He has also addressed the challenges of dancing underwater with a funny video. He depicts his...

Hempcrete has both thermal mass and insulating qualities. It also continues to absorb carbon over its lifespan.

Today hempcrete is used mostly by eco-minded architects in Europe and Canada, mainly due to regulations controlling hemp production evolving in these regions. (Its not contain the psychoactive agents of regular cannabis.)

What Would a Truly Critical Picasso Exhibition Look Like? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No one can fault the Brooklyn Museums Its Pablo-Matic: Picasso According to Hannah Gadsby for attempting to showcase a narrative of Picassos legacy that centers feminist artists, but the exhibition has rightly drawn criticism for its lack of critical engagement with the aesthetic contributions of the women artists it brandishes and their tenuous links with Pablo Picassos corpus. The show, albeit lazy in its framing, raises important questions, especially those pertaining to the roles of public museums and their (de)construction of art historical canons. Instead of foregrounding Picasso, the show might have more effectively achieved its goal by focusing on the specific contributions of feminist artists like Betye Saar, Mickalene Thomas, and Marisol Escobar, among other pioneers in modern and contemporary art, on their own terms. Upon viewing the exhibition it became clear that an aesthetic association with Picasso does not bind these artists. What would an exhibition that critically engaged Picassos Modernist forms and those of his global interlocutors look like? If, as Edward Said suggested in the 90s, one must read contrapuntally to revise the Western canons repressed foundations of colonialism in other words, be attuned to t...

Large Exchanges Relist XRP Following Ripple Victory Over SEC "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In a significant turn of events, large cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, and Gemini announced their decision to relist XRP after a significant legal victory for Ripple against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

This momentous decision comes as a result of the exchanges reevaluating their previous delisting of XRP, showcasing a renewed confidence in the tokens regulatory standing.  This was brought about by the recent landmark court ruling by Judge Analisa Torres.

Coinbase, Kraken, And Bitstamp Reinstate XRP Trading

Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, wasted no time in announcing the resumption of XRP trading following the court ruling. Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, expressed the exchanges decision in a tweet, stating:

Coinbase will re-enable trading for XRP (XRP) on the XRP network. Do not send this asset over other networks or your funds may be lost. Transfers for this asset remain available on @Coinbase &  @CoinbaseExch.

The reinstatement of the digital asset on Coinbases platform marks a significant shift in their position after delisting the token in January 2021. Kraken, another prominent exchange, also confirmed its plans to reinstate trading for the cryptocurrency, as Marco Santori, Kraken Legal Officer tweeted stated:

1/ This morning, the Federal Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that XRP is not a security. As such, just a few minutes ago, Kraken re-enabled trading in XRP for US users.

Bitstamp, an early adopter of XRP, joined the bandwagon, emphasizing its role as a leading liquidity venue for the asset globally as it confirms the return of the token on its exchange for US users.

Ripples Legal Battle And Market Impact

The court ruling stems from the SECs lawsuit against Ripple, which accused the company of conducting an unregistered securities offering through the sale and distribution of XRP.

Ripple chose to fight the lawsuit, investing substantial resources into the legal proceedings. The outcome of this case carries significant weight for the cryptocurrency industry, as it determines the regulatory oversight faced by digital asset firms.

Although Judge Torres recent summary judgment concluded that while Ripples initial sale of XRP to institutional investors could be classified as a securities offering, the subsequent trading of the tokens on crypto excha...

It's easy for arm chair quarterbacks to make hasty generalizations about acts of the past, but you weren't there to experience the horror and fear of what an enemy can do you to your family and friends. You weren't there to experience the terror of knowing there's a war going on that's killing millions while your sons and fathers are overseas fighting an evil and concerted effort by the Axis Forces ot Communists who specialized in such sadistic cruelty that it is almost unmentionable yet you would criticize the liberators who could have destroyed the capital cities of the enemy and suppressed them forever rather than rebuild them into functioning societies again when our enemies would never have allowed America, Great Britiain, or Europe to return to normalcy or recover economically without draconian control. This is yet another sad example of human nature and how we forget the lessons of history. The greatest generals such as MacArthur and Patton used maximum force to attain victory as soon as possible to stop the bloodshed against the suicidal efforts of our fanantical enemies. This is a fact that Supreme Commander, Ike Eisenhower expressed when he ordered his combat journalists to capture the horrid concentration camps in Germany on film, "Because 50 years from now some bastard is going to say that this all never happened!" It goes on in Germany as in Japan, the denial of the atrocities they committed against helpless citizens much less the POW's they mowed down with machine gun fire to this very day. Just remember, you are not so high and mighty nor are you in the moral high ground that you arer qualified to even pass judgment.

PEPE Sees Sharp 17% Surge, But Will This Whale Spoil The Party? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows a PEPE whale has made a large deposit to Binance, something that could provide an impedance to the meme coins rally.

PEPE Whale Has Deposited $7.2 Million To Binance

According to data from the cryptocurrency transaction tracker service Whale Alert, a massive PEPE transfer has occurred on the Ethereum blockchain during the past day.

The transaction in question involved the movement of 3.94 trillion PEPE, which was worth almost $7.2 million at the time the transfer went through on the network.

Generally, only the whale entities are capable of making such large moves, so its reasonable to assume that a whale investor would have been behind this transfer.

Due to the massive amount of capital involved in transactions of these humongous investors, they can sometimes cause noticeable fluctuations in the price of the asset.

As such, the movements of the whales can be something to watch out for. How such transfers may affect the market, though, depends on the exact intent the investor had behind it.

Here are some additional details regarding the relevant PEPE whale transfer, which may shed some light on what the whale wanted to achieve with the move:

PEPE Whale

As you can see above, the sending address in the case of this PEPE transfer is an unknown wallet, meaning that its an address unattached to any known centralized platform, making it likely that its the personal wallet of an investor.

The receiving address, on the other hand, looks to be a wallet affiliated with a centralized platform. More specifically, this address is connected to the cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

I have searched in vain via the NY media to find the owner so that I can send her a copy. No joy so I am hoping this Pet Comedy competition can help me find the mystery woman and her leaping dog. You never know!

If you need something to cheer you up and make you smile, check out the finalists of the 2023 Comedy Pet Photography Awards. The photos of these sweet kitties and goofy dogs are sure to put a grin on your face. From the initial pool of images, 25 have been selected for the shortlist by a panel of expert judges.

The winners will be revealed on August 11, but for now, you can make your voice heard and participate in the vote for the People's Choice Award. Some of our favorite finalists include Chris Porszs photo of a border collie leaping for a ball in New York's Union Square and a hefty cat nicknamed The Big Boss lounging by the waterfront.

Some photos focus on the quirky habits that our furry friends have. Brazil's Monyque Macedo Dos Santos captured this perfectly by showing her little dog's unusual habit of burying itself under the couch cushions. Others, like Klaus-Peter...

Four Medicinal Plants Rewild Mumbai in a New Mural Series by Mona Caron "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Four green plants with blue, yellow, and pink flowers tower over Mumbai with a road in the foreground

All images courtesy of Pranav Gohil and St+art India Foundation, shared with permission

Four hardy plants soar toward the Mumbai skyline in a new series of murals by Swiss artist Mona Caron (previously). Known for her stunning portrayals of weeds and botanicals thought of as ugly or undesirable, Caron celebrates the resilient specimens native to India that are often found poking through the concrete and along dusty roadsides.

Taking its title from the name of the vegetation, Kurdu, Takla, Chhota Kalpa, Kantakari brings together four medicinal plants that burst through the urban environment despite the harsh conditions. Unflinching, Kurdu wont even bother to pick a sheltered spot. No matter how destroyed the terrain, right in everyones way, like a cow ambling across a busy Mumbai street, it gently floats the sacred into the midst of our daily chaos, mostly skirted unnoticed, Caron shares.

The works celebrate this strength and determination and advocate for recognizing their worth. It takes closeness to the earth to harvest its blessings; it takes traditional knowledge to know the best way to. Lets honor this wisdom which persists at the grassroots of this bursting metropolis, against all pressures to uproot, she says.

These murals were created as part of this years Mumbai Urban Art Festival organized by St+art India Foundation. Find more from Caron on her site and...

Who Was William-Adolphe Bouguereau? Learn About the Beloved 19th-Century French Painter

William-Adolphe Bougueureau Paintings

The most famous artist of all time is a difficult question for anyone to pinpoint. Today, many people might say Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, or Frida Kahlo. However, just a couple of decades ago, people might have given different answers. In a similar fashion, the name William-Adolphe Bouguereau may not be familiar to many these days, but in the later 19th century, he was one of the most beloved painters around.

Born and trained in France, Bouguereau was an upholder of the French academic style. His talent for creating beautiful, idealized worlds made him a popular artist among wealthy patrons, and his dedication to traditional approaches kept him a favorite in the prestigious Salon for his entire life. He also worked parallel to the Impressionists, who sought to subvert the values he displayed in his polished pictures. But while Bouguereau's fame faded after his death, the Impressionists rose upshowing how quickly artistic tastes can change.

Here, we will learn more about Bouguereau's art and why the Impressionists fought against it.

Heres What On-Chain Data Reveals About XRP Rally "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

XRP has observed a massive 67% rally during the past 24 hours. Here are some facts on-chain data reveals about this price surge.

Several Indicators Have Surged Following The XRP Rally

In its latest insight post, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has looked into the underlying metrics related to XRP as the cryptocurrency has seen an extremely sharp surge during the last day.

This rapid growth in the assets value has come following Ripples victory in court as XRP has been declared not a security. Immediately after the announcement, the coin had managed to rise by around 90%, but in the hours since then, the asset has taken some hit.

Nonetheless, the cryptocurrency has still managed to hold onto the majority of its gains so far, as its still up 67%. This rise has now made the asset the fourth largest in the space in terms of market cap, as it has leapfrogged past BNB.

Following the rally, the social dominance of XRP saw a sharp surge toward the 7.4% mark, as the below chart displays.

XRP Social Dominance

Social dominance measures how the discussions on social media related to any given coin (which, in this case, is XRP) compare against the combined amount of talk the top 100 assets by market cap are receiving currently.

At the current value of the metric, 7.4% of all discussions related to these top 100 coins are coming from XRP alone. Such a high amount of interest among social media users is generally a sign of euphoria, which usually leads to a correction in the price. This may explain why the asset has taken a hit since the initial jump.

In terms of whale activity, the network has naturally been active during this surge, as these humongous investors have made a large number of transactions, as shown below.

@ErasTourUpdates: Taylor Swift in Philadelphia "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Photograph by Jake Nevins.

An early-summer, late-afternoon light was catching a porcelain figurine of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus on the windowsill of Johnnies Italian Specialties, the twenty-eight-year-old family-owned restaurant in South Philly where, in May, I dialed up my personal hotspot, hoping to get tickets to the Taylor Swift concert taking place in the city later that night. My cheesesteak sub was dry and insufficiently cheesy and entirely beside the pointit was a formality, if a regionally appropriate one, meant to justify my seat at this funky restaurant as my sister and I refreshed four different ticket resale websites waiting for prices to drop. We were not two of the lucky 2.4 million who had gotten tickets to the Eras Tour when theyd gone on sale several months earlier, in a rollout so vexed and disorderly it caused an investigation by the U.S. Justice Department into antitrust violations by Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

At first, this didnt bother me. I do not have the patience to wait in something called a virtual queue, and also I have a job. So Id resigned myself to the fact that I would not be attending the Eras Tour, Swifts 131-show survey of her ten studio albumswhich I suppose we now call eras and not albumsand the logical, world-beating end point of her willful evolution from gee-whiz country darling to too-big-to-fail pop supernova. But then, in March, the Eras Tour commenced, and for several weeks thereafter my Twitter feed was overrun with clips from the show, which runs close to three and a half hours, includes forty-four songs, and is structured episodically as a Homeric celebration of Swifts discography. It looked like the sort of thing Id regret missing, the premise of a memory I could tell my kids or at least my friends kids about.

Nine days earlier, my sister had texted me to see if Id be down to drive to Philadelphia from New York the day of t...

XRP Kicks Out BNB To Become 4th-Largest Crypto After 65% Rally "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

XRP, the token behind the Ripple payment network, has been on an absolute monster rally in the last day. The token has seen a 65% price surge that propelled it into the number 4 spot in the crypto rankings, pushing BNB down to 5th place, even though BNB on the other hand, is also up by 9% in the past week.

XRP Overtakes BNB

XRP recently overtook BNB after reaching a yearly high of $0.81, giving the cryptocurrency a market cap of $41 billion. The huge price spike can be attributed to investors jumping on the bandwagon with fear of missing out on XRP after the big news regarding its victory over the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The court determined on June 13 that the sale of XRP to regular investors does not constitute the sale of an unregistered security. As such, United States District Judge Analisa Torres ruled in partial favor of Ripple, saying that XRP sales on public cryptocurrency exchanges were not offers of securities under the law.

However, the judge remarked that Ripples direct sale of XRP to institutional investors in the amount of approximately $700 million violated federal legislation regarding the sale of securities.

This catapulted XRPs price from $0.478 to $0.7885 in just under a day. With its current market cap, this means XRP is now the third-largest native cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin and Ethereum when the USDT stablecoin is removed.

Ripple (XRP) price chart from Tradingview.com

24-Hour Trading Volume Spikes 1700%+

According to data from Coinmarketcap, XRPs 24-hour trading volume has spiked a whopping 1,758.13% to over $13.49 billion. Trading volumes have surged on various exchanges, where Upbit, the South Korean-based crypto exchange, had over $2.7 billion in 24-hour trading volume. Binance also saw over $2.3 billion in trading volume as investors scurried to buy XRP.

Coinglass data shows more than $35 million short position trades on XRP have been liquidated in the past 24 hours. Most of these are from Bybit, OKX, and Binance, with $21 million, $14 million, and $14 million in short position liquidations, respectively.

Of course, fast price rises often end in pullbacks as XRP remains a volatile digital asset. But its recent breakout shows its still an altcoin to watch, with the potential for even bigger gains if more investors continue to FOMO. However, XRPs potential for long-term growth continues to be supported by Ripple Labs real-world value as a payments network.

At the time of writing, XRP is stil...

Fir0002, Giraffe in Melbourne Zoo, GFDL 1.2, via Wikimedia Commons.

Pter Esterhzy once wrote that Pter Zilahy is the white raven of Hungarian literature who can observe the world each time as if for the first time, always fresh and original. While its labeled a novel, The Last Window-Giraffe is essentially uncategorizable, a hippogriff of a creation fashioned from fragments of history, autobiography, and wild invention. How such a wealth of elementsfrom childhood memories to political atrocities to the poignant evocation of the correspondence between sexual awakening and the deaths of dictatorscould be gathered and spun into such a coherent narrative is a kind of aesthetic miracle.

Zilahy uses the Hungarian alphabet to present a wonderful mix of historical facts, poetry, and visual images, an approach inspired by the time he spent in Belgrade in 1996, when citizens took to the streets to protest Slobodan Miloevis electoral fraud. The Last Window-Giraffe evokes many memories of my own past in the former Yugoslavia. Theres a wizardry in Zilahys ability to shrink an entire historical epoch to human scale while at the same time elevating ordinary experience to mythic significance. This is intellectual alchemy of the highest order, executed with wit and compassion. Zilahy can murder a sacred cow and canonize an unknown victim of totalitarianism in a single sentence.

UKs Largest Clean Air Mural Is Completed After 3 Weeks "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

UKs Largest Clean Air Mural Is Completed After 3 Weeks

The Bulb by Nerone in Southampton

French street artist Nerone has created the UK's largest clean-air mural in Southampton. Painted on The Bulb, a new hub for the STEM community, the piece shows a woman covered in colorful flowers. And best of all, the nearly 11,000-square-foot mural is not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally friendly.

To create his masterpiece, Nerone used Graphenstone CO2-absorbing paint. The lime-based paint naturally absorbs CO2 as it cures, and Nerone estimates that it will pull about 145 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air annually. That's the equivalent of about three mature trees.

In terms of the subject matter, the piece is a continuation of other portraits Nerone has painted. It features his fiance Frankie, who has also appeared in his murals in South Korea, Colombia, France, and Turkey. This is the second time she's appeared in a mural in the UK, as Nerone also used her as his muse for a mural in London.

Covered in colorful flowers, she brightens up the environment and transforms this concrete office building into a joyful site. It was important for Nerone to add some color to the space, as the building is clearly visible from nearby Southampton station.

It took 17 days for the French artist and a team from Lawless Studios to complete the piece. The community was also highly involved, thanks to a series of community events and workshops that ran concurrently. And while it was hard work, Nerone is pleased with the outcome.

It would be amazing that people realize we can do beautiful things, Nerone says, bringing a positive message while we preserve and improve our environment.

Editorial: the decline of editorial cartoons (and how to stop it) "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

Rats_leaving_a_sinking_ship__fabio_magnasciuttiCartoon by Fabio Magnasciutti

It's been a while since the last editorial (time is a precious commodity these days), but this week I felt the need to write one. The reason: devastating news for editorial cartooning from across the pond as three Pulitzer-winning cartoonists let go in one shocking day. Jack Ohman of the Sacramento Bee, Joel Pett of the Lexington Herald-Leader and Kevin Siers of the Charlotte Observer were all let go as the parent company of these newspapers, McClatchy, has decided it will no longer run daily opinion cartoons.

You can read all the details in this article in the Washington Post. Ohman called the event 'another brick in the wall', and I can't help but agree. The last few years have seen many troubling developments that all point in just one direction: the demise of political cartooning. A short recap:

-In 2019 the (international edition of the) New York Times decided to stop running political cartoons.

In 2021, no Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartoons was given.

-In 222, the Pulitzer Prize decided to change the name of the category Editorial cartoons to Illustrated Reporting and Commentary.

-Also in 2022, Gannett , a large US newspaper company with 250 titles decided that the time for a traditional editorial page (the home of the political cartoon) has come and gone

-In 2023, World Press cartoon announced it wasn't able to organize the prize, due to lack of funding.

This list probably isn't complete, but it already paints a dire picture for the profession. And although it's mostly centers on the US, I fear American cartoonists might be at the forefront of developments that will hit us all. I firmly believe public appetite for...

People With Horrible Kids Get Real About What They Wish Theyd Done Differently While Raising Them "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

ARRaisingKidsMistakes People With Horrible Kids Get Real About What They Wish Theyd Done Differently While Raising Them

Its really, REALLY gotta suck to raise a child, do your best, and have them turn out to be, well, a sh**ty person.

But you hear about it all the time, unfortunately.

And these parents got real about what theyd done differently when they were raising their kids.

Take a look at what they had to say.

Cant win em all.

You dont have to win every power struggle.

I think Ive learned a lot from having 4 very different kids, and I think too many parents 1. Think the same strategies work for all kids (ie, rule-consequence-behavior falls in line, rinse and repeat) and 2. Focus on the behavior rather than the cause.

If you have a kid who doesnt respond to your parenting style/philosophy, you should rethink your approach. Its not all the kids fault.

Some kids will burn their lives to the ground to make a point. I have one like that. For too long, it was a vicious cycle of

kid acts out

I punish

kid is angry, acts out more

I punish harder

kid is angrier, acts out even more

I punish even harder

and on and on and on and on. Something needs to break the cycle.

For instance, if your kid is challenging your authority, its usually a bid for more independence. Theyre trying to be more mature, and they want your adult respect....

GLOBAL WARMING!!! OMG! WE"RE ALL GUNNA DIE!1!! "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

As little as 5 years ago you could google how much people contributed to the world wide pollution and carbons in the atmosphere and it was less than 1%. It was a really small amount but I have noticed that all of that info has been scrubbed. The links between the Earth and Sun have been proven in relation to the poles shifting, coronal holes causing earthquakes, the ozone layer, the magnetic shielding, and flipping of the poles affecting, not just Earth, but all of the planets. All of this...

Crypto Liquidations Cross $300 Million Amid Massive Market Recovery "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The last 24 hours have been more than interesting for crypto investors across the globe. Thursday, July 13, saw one of the most important lawsuits in the history of the industry come to an end, and the ruling in favor of Ripple triggered a massive rally. As digital assets across the space recorded double-digit gains, liquidation volumes climbed quickly, now clocking over $300 million.

Crypto Short Traders Take Big Losses

The high volumes of crypto liquidations in the market so far have been a result of price recovery. As such, the vast majority of traders who have been losing money have been short traders, that is, traders who were betting on prices falling rather than recovering.

According to data from Coinglass, out of the over $300 million in liquidations, short traders made up for a total of $219 million. On the flip side, the volume from long traders was much lower, coming in at only $82.74 million for the same 24-hour period. This means that short traders made up 70.33% of all liquidations during this time, as long traders made the most money.

Furthermore, over 86,000 traders saw their positions liquidated on the last day, but the single largest liquidation happened on the Bitmex exchange. This position was worth $2.82 million at the time of liquidation, taking place across the XRPUSD pair on the exchange.

Crypto liquidations

As expected, Bitcoin led the liquidation volumes during this time, but interestingly, Ethereum was not the second-highest volume as it usually is. That title was claimed by XRP traders this time around with a total of $62.17 million liquidated in 24 hours.

Will The Liquidations Continue?

A major factor behind...

Artist Recreates 18th-Century Romantic Lovers Eyes Tradition by Painting Eyes on Vintage Plates "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Artist Recreates 18th-Century Romantic Lovers Eyes Tradition by Painting Eyes on Vintage Plates

Lover's Eye Paintings on Plates by Susannah Carson

In the late 1700s, a romantic trend swept through wealthy families in England, Europe, and even America. Called lover's eyes, or eye miniatures, these small paintings were commissioned to depict the eye or eyes of spouses, loved ones, and children. While during the Georgian period (1700s to early 1800s) they were worn as accessories like bracelets and pendants, contemporary artist Susannah Carson is reimagining this art form. She adds delicate paintings of eyes and faces to vintage plates.

Each of these depictions is rendered in a style that evokes the original tradition. Human gazes appear in the center of these dishes, staring at the viewer calmly and directly. The form of the dish even acts as a frame, bordering Carson's handiwork with decorative patterns. This combination of materials enhances the nostalgia of these paintings, making them all the more precious to look at and display.

Im interested in painting as not just an optical illusion, but as an illusion of lifeof otherness, of richness, of engagement, of that delicate connection we have with other beings which allows us to feel, for a moment, not so alone, she says. With compositions highlighting the gaze, these subjects tell us their stories with a single look and ask for us to tell them our stories in return, thereby creatingunlike the alienation of much modern arta welcoming intimacy.

You can purchase available art via Carson's website and keep up to date with the artist's latest work by following her on Instagram.

Polygon Reclaims 10th Position As MATIC Surges Nearly 30% In One Week "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The crypto market continues to exhibit dynamic shifts as Polygons native token, MATIC, outpaces Litecoin (LTC) in the global rankings to secure the 10th spot. This move comes after MATIC experienced a surge of nearly 30% over the past week.

Resurgence Amid Crypto Rally

The general upswing in the crypto market in the past week has presented opportunities for numerous cryptocurrencies to make significant strides. Polygon (MATIC), for one, has capitalized on this trend, breaking through multiple resistance levels to claim the 10th position in the global crypto market, thereby leaving Litecoin (LTC) trailing behind.

The assets surge, which saw MATIC price climbing from a low of $0.67 last Friday to a high of $0.88 yesterday before retracting to $0.84 at the time of writing, marks a nearly 30% increase in the past 7 days.

Polygon (MATIC) price chart on TradingView

The surge also signals MATICs resilience, given that it comes just a month after the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) classified it as a security, triggering a drastic dip in its value. This move by the SEC made MATIC dwell in a bloodbath for a week to trade below the $0.6 mark.

MATIC Road To Recovery

MATICs recovery, however, has been somewhat fascinating. Over the past 24 hours, MATIC has rallied by nearly 10%, exhibiting a strong upward trajectory. Interestingly, this rally mirrors the movements of several notable altcoins in the market, indicating a wider market recovery trend.

Despite the initial setback following the SECs classification, MATIC has demonstrated a comeback. Its rebound not only highlights the resilience of the asset but also underscores its growing popularity among investors, which can be attributed to the increasing interest in the Polygon platform, known for its scalability solutions for Ethereum transactions.

MATIC has witnessed a dramatic rise in its market capitalization over the past week, marking a nearly $2 billion increase. The digital asset, starting from a valuation of $6.2 billion last F...
