Under-The-Radar Bullish Bitcoin Moving Average Crossover Looks Imminent "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Many traders and technicians closely follow the well-known Golden Cross moving average crossover in key liquid markets such as Bitcoin, Gold, and the Nasdaq 100 Index among others. Today, however, well examine an under-the-radar Bitcoin moving average crossover which looks imminent. Using Bitcoins reliable data from 2011 through today, lets find out if this lesser known moving average crossover looks bullish or bearish going forward.

This Lesser Known Moving Average Crossover May Soon Hit

While the Golden Cross occurs when the 50-day simple moving average crosses above the 200-day simple moving average, Bitcoins 50-day simple moving average (50MA) currently looks poised to cross above its 100-day simple moving average (100MA) within days. Earlier this year, Bitcoins 50MA crossed above its 100MA as the number one crypto by market cap surged in January off of its post-FTX collapse low. Further Bitcoin gains followed from this most recent crossover.

Bitcoin Daily Chart  | BTCUSD on TradingView.com

Now that Bitcoin has extended its year-to-date gains in recent sessions, its 50MA looks poised to cross back above its 100MA once again. Beyond the signal earlier this year, whats happened in the past when Bitcoins 50MA has crossed above its 100MA?

Sixty Days And Beyond Looks Bullish

To find out, well look at all signals since 2011, adding an extra condition which better describes current market conditions with respect to Bitcoin. Our extra condition requires that Bitcoins 100MA must be rising, meaning that the average closed at a value greater than the day before when the 50MA crossed above the 100MA. This additional requirement filters out 50MA > 100MA crossovers during periods of downward price momentum and better describes Bitcoins current technical state.

Bitcoin Exchange Supply Continues To Slip, Holders Not Interested In Selling? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows that the Bitcoin exchange supply has only continued to decline despite the recent rally that the asset has observed.

Bitcoin Exchange Supply Continues To Register Net Decline

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, exchanges have continued to see withdrawals recently. The indicator of interest here is the exchange balance, which measures the total amount of Bitcoin thats currently sitting in the wallets of all centralized exchanges.

When the value of this metric goes up, it means that the investors are depositing a net number of coins to these platforms currently. As one of the main reasons why holders may transfer their BTC to exchanges is for selling-related purposes, this kind of trend can have short-term bearish consequences for the price.

On the other hand, decreasing values of the indicator imply a net amount of the supply is leaving from the exchanges. Such a trend, when prolonged, can be a sign that the investors are accumulating at the moment. Naturally, this could be constructive for the cryptocurrencys price.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin exchange balance over the last few years:

Bitcoin Exchange Balance

As displayed in the above graph, the Bitcoin exchange balance had been in an overall uptrend during 2018 and 2019, but with the COVID crash in March 2020, a shift happened in the market and the indicator started moving in a downward trajectory.

There was a break in this trend during the 2021 bull run, as the metric mostly moved sideways, with some increases coming near the top of the rallies. This deviation in the trend was possibly a result of investors depositing to take advantage of the profit-taking opportunity.

With the end of the bull market and the transition toward a bearish period, though, the indicator resumed its decline. Events like the 3AC Collapse and the FTX Crash saw the exchange balance dropping especially hard, as these platforms going down made investors more wary of keeping their coins in centralized custody.

With the start of the Bitcoin rally this year, however, the metric once again started moving sideways as demand for selling returned. In the leadup to the local top in April, exchanges were receiving net deposits as their supply outright registered an increase.

Replacing The Worlds Preferred Store Of Value, Bitcoin Will Make Housing Affordable Again "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Leon Wankum, a HODLer who is active in real estate and venture capital with a masters degree in financial economics.

On August 15, 1971, U.S. President Richard Nixon announced that the United States would end the convertibility of the U.S. dollar into gold. Since then, central banks around the world have started operating a fiat-based monetary system with floating exchange rates and no currency standards at all. The money supply has been rising steadily ever since. This forced market participants to look for ways to invest their money to protect against this inflation and one of the most popular investment assets has been real estate.

In the past, people owned real estate for its utility value, which is characterized by the fact that you can live on it or use it for production. Nowadays, however, it serves the world as the primary asset to store value. Around 67% of global wealth ($ 330T) is stored in real estate. This has pushed up real estate prices enormously and, with that, the cost of housing and the cost of living.

Home Value Change Vs. Income Change

The chart below shows the increase in wages in the U.S. from 1965 to 2021 compared to the increase in housing prices. It shows that real estate prices have risen excessively.

Source

As a result, it is no longer possible for most people to afford their own home. In addition, regulation and inflation have made construction significantly more expensive, for example, due to the increased building requirements because of so-called ESG guidelines and the increase in raw material prices. Property owners pass this price increase onto tenants in the form of increased rents.

From Utility To Speculation

Real estate has become a speculative investment object because it is used as a store of value,...

US Militarys Recruiting Woes Are a National-Security Crisis "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Analysis by James Stavridis | Bloomberg

NEW YORK - OCTOBER 14: A military recruiter walks out of his office after new Army recruits were sworn in at Times Square October 14, 2004 in New York City. The U.S. Army is celebrating its 40th anniversary of the Army Recruiting Command by swearing in over a dozen new recruits in Times Square. Since the outbreak of war in Iraq, the military has struggled to meet recruiting numbers. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images) (Photographer: Spencer Platt/Getty Images North America)
Americas armed services are failing to meet their recruiting goals, with the Army in particular suffering the worst shortfalls in five decades. There are many reasons behind this, but one is very surprising: veterans themselves.
Recent reporting and anecdotal evidence indicate the likelihood that children of service members will sign up, or be urged to do so by their families, is at a nadir. Given that 80% of new recruits have a relative...

The Fed Launches Phase One of Their CBDC This Month "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Great Resets worldwide social credit system has arrived https://gregreese.substack.com In a recent Time Magazine article, Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates hedge funds warned that the world is on the brink of disaster. He came to this conclusion based on current events that havent happened since the nineteen thirties. The largest amounts of debt and inflation. The biggest gaps in wealth and values resulting in the rise of populism on both the left and the right against the elites. And the greatest international conflict between world powers, most importantly between the U.S. and China. Peter Onge writes that the easy way out of this mess would be for the elite to proactively shrink in scope. Get government out of the economy, out of social engineering, and out of propagandizing kids. But of course, this wont happen. Common sense and simple observation will tell you that the so-called elites will continue on their path towards economic destruction and world war. Which is likely what the international bankers had planned all along. Let us not forget that the fast-growing BRICS monetary system was born in 2001 out of Goldman Sachs. In 1971, President Nixon officially ended the Gold Standard and replaced it with the petrodollar in which OPEC agreed to price their oil in US dollars in exchange for US military protection. This blood money deal preserved US control over the world economy. But when the US weaponized the SWIFT payment system against Russia, BRICS became the only viable solution for the rest of the world. Reuters in New Delhi reported that last May, the State Bank of India rejected Indian Oil Corp's planned payment in US dollars for Russian oil. And so they went to a private bank and settled their trade for Russian oil by paying in yuan to the Bank of China. And have continued to do so...

Solana Registers 20% Rise In Past Week, But Can SOL Keep This Up? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Solana has observed an increase of more than 20% in the past week. Heres what on-chain data says regarding whether this is sustainable or not.

Solana Trading Volume Has Remained Low Despite Price Rise

In its latest insight post, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has looked at the underlying metrics of Solana to see what has been driving the latest increase in the price.

The firm has looked at the social volume of the cryptocurrency for various social media platforms and has found that the asset has seen elevated interest on Reddit recently.

Here, the social volume refers to a metric that measures the total number of unique posts or threads on a given social media platform that is making at least one mention of SOL. This metric can tell us about the degree of discussion that the coin is currently receiving on the website in question.

Now, below is a chart that shows the trend in the Solana social volume on four major social media platforms: Telegram, Reddit, Twitter, and 4chan.

Solana Social Volume

As displayed in the above graph, the Solana social volume on Reddit has seen some spikes as the cryptocurrency has risen during the past week or so. The other platforms, however, havent observed that much discussion related to the asset.

A notable spike in the social volume on Reddit also occurred before the coins 5% surge during the past 24 hours. This may imply that interest from users on the platform could partly be helping fuel the rise.

In terms of the actual trading volume, though, SOL has continued to observe muted activity, despite the growth.

Here is a chart that displays the trend in this indicator:

Solana Trading Volume

Interestingly, the initial, strong rise that Solana enjoyed was accompanied by elevated volumes, but at the start of this month, the indicators value noted some decline. Since this drop in volume, SOL has mostly move...

Teenager Told His Parents He Wont Get a Part-Time Job. Is He Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

AITATeenagerJob Teenager Told His Parents He Wont Get a Part Time Job. Is He Wrong?

No thanks, I wont be getting a job

That is something that no parent wants to hear from their teenage kid.

But is this young man a jerk for telling his parents this?

Check out what he had to say in his story.

AITA for telling my parents I wont get a part time job?

My [16m] parents recently have been telling me to start making my own money to pay for unneeded stuff like expensive clothes and nights out with friends, which, fair enough.

They told me to get a traditional part time job working at a store, or a restaurant, or babysitting, or whatever. I decided those sounded time consuming and boring, so decided to utilize my good taste in clothes to make money in a more hands off way.

I used money I have already remnants of birthday money, mostly to go to a thrift store and buy clothes I knew would be in trend right now and sell them, either online or to people I know, then withdraw some of the money for personal spending and put most back towards buying more stuff.

This is optimal, because now (as of a month after starting), Im making pretty good money, for very little work (1-2 hours every weekend at a thrift store, then another 1-2 hours to pose for photos modeling the clothes and post them online), and even that little amount of work is something I find fun. So all in all, seems better than working longer hours at something Id find boring for similar pay.

My parents are angry because I took what was supposed to be a teachable moment about ha...

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Registers 28% Gain How Long Will It Last? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is captivating the attention of the crypto community with its ongoing price surge. The recent inclusion of BCH on EDX, a Citadel Securities-backed crypto exchange, has sparked fresh interest in this digital asset.

As investors eagerly monitor its progress, the price of BCH on CoinGecko stands at $291.80, showcasing a 24-hour rally of nearly 7% and an impressive seven-day surge of 27.5%.

The overall bullish sentiment in the crypto market has contributed to the positive trajectory of BCH. As cryptocurrencies gain mainstream acceptance and adoption, investors are seeking alternatives beyond the traditional giants like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and BCH has emerged as a viable contender.

However, the question on everyones mind is whether Bitcoin Cash can sustain its current bullish streak.

BCH Whales Pause Buying Spree Amidst Price Surge

Link "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Wes Anderson lives at least part-time in Paris, a situation whose advantages include the ability to frequent JM Vido, one of the very few cinephile-oriented video-rental shops still in business. His apartment is on rue Daguerre, which would make it a bit of a trek across the Seine and then some to get there. Still, he made it out to JM to shoot the video above, the latest installment of a series from French Youtube channel Konbini in which famous auteurs (here on Open Culture, weve previously featured episodes staring David Cronenberg and Terry Gilliam) pick their favorites off the shelves. Anyone whos seen Andersons work will have a sense of his love of movies, but seldom have we had the chance to see him speak so enthusiastically about them.

Andersons JM journey begins and ends in Japan. He calls Shhei Imamuras Vengeance Is Mine a great, very long, sort of serial killer movie and names Akira Kurosawas Drunken Angel as one source of music for his own animated film Isle of Dogs. There follow works from Luis Buuel, Rouben Mamoulian (who seems to have been a particularly powerful fount of inspiration), musicals like The Pajama Game and Meet Me in St. Louis, and John Sturges Western Bad Day at Black Rock (whose title sequence he lifted for his latest picture, Asteroid City).

READ THIS FIRST After careful deliberation, Ive chosen to disable the copy-protection plugin on our site, which will reinstate the copy and paste function. It seems I overlooked the large number of users who prefer to print or archive posts for future reference. The copy-protection measure wasnt intended to prevent our paying members from accessing the content, but rather to deter pirates from misusing Bens work for unscrupulous activities. It goes beyond the mere theft of work these pirates often manipulate Bens content slightly, using it to market bogus products or services for monetary advantage under Bens name. Personally, I receive countless emails daily from individuals who forward me falsified or edited content purportedly from Ben, asking for validation. In one such email a man asked me for a refund from a crypto currency he purchased from the link at the bottom of a Benjamin Fulford article. Ben has never sold financial products and this individual had been robbed by a fraudster. Another motivation behind the copy-protection implementation stemmed from the fact that many individuals dont respect the posting guidelines. From the time he started his blog, Ben has kindly permitted his works to be freely shared a week after the initial post. However, this generosity has been exploited, with many sharing the works prematurely and falsely claiming them as their own. Explore Exquisite Kimono Designs from 19th-Century Japan "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Japans 19th-century kimonos blur the lines between art and fashion.

Meiji era customers could browse hinagata-bon, traditionally bound pattern books, on visits to drapers and fabric merchants. These colorful volumes offered a glamorous update of the Edo periods black-and-white kimono pattern books.

Aspiring designers also studied hinagata-bon, as many of the designs featured within were the work of celebrated artists.

Each page featured a standard kimono outline in a back or side view, embellished with the proposed design. These range from traditional floral motifs to bold landscapes to striking geometric patterns, some arresting, some discreet.

Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Telling the Truth About Why She Turned Down a Prom Proposal Years Ago. Is She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

AITAPromposal Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Telling the Truth About Why She Turned Down a Prom Proposal Years Ago. Is She Wrong?

I guess the truth had to come out at some point

And the woman who wrote this story on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page wants to know if she was out of line for revealing why she turned down a proposal to the prom 10 years ago.

Lets take a look at what she had to say.

AITA for revealing why I rejected a promposal nearly 10 years ago?

I (27F) attended school in the UK. Towards the end of our final year of school, when we turn 18, our schools organise something called a Formal, which I suppose is a bit like a prom without the romantic aspects as youre not expected to go with anybody, and the idea of promposals generally isnt something thats done here.

Nearly 10 years ago, as I was preparing to leave school, I found out that, not only did a boy in my class have a massive crush on me for years, but he was planning one of these massive promposals that are often done at proms. He had always been a horrendous bully to me.

He would go from calling me hideous and claiming that I would die alone and unloved, to stealing my friends phone to get my number, or sneaking up behind me and cutting out strands of my hair that to keep, or going so far as to find my house through my fathers distinctive car.

Naturally, when the day for his promposal came along, he came out with his sign in front of the entire school, and I bluntly said...

Revival in Louisiana Still Going Strong After 8 Months "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Move over, Asbury! Hammond, Louisianas revival that began last October shows no signs of slowing. Hammond, Louisiana, some 750 miles south of Wilmore, Kentucky (where the Asbury Revival broke out in February), is the site of a revival that is well into its eighth month and continues to bless and save hundreds. Since the revival began on October 16, 2022 at the Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, thousands have come and continue to come to hear evangelist David Harrison of the Voice of Hope Ministries. The first night just 125 people showed up, with 34 making commitments to Christ. That was just the beginning. Believers and seekers descended on the town of 20,000, far exceeding the churchs capacity. Harrison brought in a tent capable of seating up to 2,500 people to meet the demand. At last count, an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 souls have attended the Hammond revival. Harrison said:
The awakening in Louisiana has truly been life-changing. When God sent me there on October 17, I never would have dreamed we would still be there! It has been the most supernatural event Ive ever seen.
Other evangelists, such as Nick Hall, the founder of Pulse Ministries, and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, senior pastor at New Season Church in Sacramento, California, who also heads the National Christian Leadership Conference, are claiming that the revival that began in October and continues today is no coincidence. Said Hall: God is moving. Its not over. Its just starting! He added:
Im just seeing this break out everywhere. You cant end revival, revival isnt owned by anyone, and it didnt start by anyone. Its a move of God.
Rodriguez agrees:

Recent 800 Billion Shiba Inu Dump Has Short Traders Worried Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) recently faced a major token dump of epic proportions, with a whopping 800 billion SHIB tokens being thrown into the market. But what caused this massive sell-off and what does it mean for the future of Shiba Inu?

This major token offloading extravaganza went down on Binance alone, with traders ditching their SHIB for USDT. The Buying Selling View indicator revealed that this frenzy took place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC.

To understand the degree of the situation, lets delve into the factors behind this recent market movement and explore the potential consequences for both short-term traders and long-term SHIB investors.

What SHIB Offloading Means For Short-Term Traders

When a massive token offloading event like the recent SHIB dump occurs, it creates a ripple effect that can have significant implications, especially for short-term sellers aiming for quick gains.

Token dumps often result in increased market volatility, causing sudden price drops and erratic fluctuations. For short-term traders, this can be both a bane and boon. On one hand, volatility presents opportunities for quick profits if they time their trades well. On the other hand, it also raises the risk of unexpected losses if the market turns against their positions.

Massive offloading events tend to put downward pressure on the tokens price. The increased supply flooding the market can lead to price depreciation, which may discourage short-term traders from entering or maintaining their positions. This, in turn, can impact the overall trading sentiment and make it harder for traders to secure favorable gains.

Celsius Starts Swapping Altcoins for Bitcoin, ETH; Chainlink, Aave, Others At Risk "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bankrupt crypto lender Celsius Network has begun the process of swapping altcoins for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). The recent court approval (June 30) granted the company permission to convert its altcoin holdings into the two leading digital assets, raising concerns about a potential sell-off of popular altcoins.

Celsius Network, known for its altcoin lending services, has been undergoing bankruptcy proceedings since July 2022 when it filed for Chapter 11 protection, revealing liabilities of up to $10 billion. The recent court ruling allows Celsius to convert its altcoins into BTC and ETH starting from July 1.

LINK, AAVE And SNX Sell-Off Due To Celsius Coming?

According to on-chain analysis provider Lookonchain, Celsius has been actively transferring altcoins to different wallets. Most of the altcoins have been moved to wallet address 0x4131. Remarkably, Celsius made its first swap today. Lookonchain tweeted:

Note that Celsius seems to be starting to swap altcoins for BTC and ETH. Currently: Most of the altcoins have been transferred to wallet0x4131. Transferred 1,393 StaFi( $rETH) to Wintermute Trading and received 1,393 $ETH.

The altcoins held by Celsius Network amount to approximately $164.5 million on the EVM chain, including:

  • 3.16 million LINK ($19.9 million)
  • 98,268 AAVE ($7.36 million)
  • 2.9 million SNX ($6.2 million)
  • 7.95 million TGBP ($5.49 million)
  • 1,812 PAXG ($3.45 million)
  • 12.650 BNB ($3.02 million)
  • 3.841 million MATIC ($2.65 million)
  • 419,899 UNI ($2.27 million)
  • 9.25 million ZRX (2.00 million)

In addition to the above, Celsius Networks wallets also contain around $296 million worth of Bitcoin, $120 million worth of Ethereum, and approximately $100 million (in paper value) of its native token CEL.

Yesterday, data from Arkham Intelligence revealed that Celsius moved around $70 million worth of altcoins and stablecoins to different wallets, including those related to crypto market maker Wintermute, crypto custodian Fireblocks, and stablecoin issuer Paxos.

Todays first swap of altcoins to Ethereum by Celsius Network raises concerns that the movements to new addresses was just the preparation for a potential sell-off for the aforementioned altcoins. LINK, AAVE and SNX could face a dump if Celsius sells these altcoins in one go, but the prices of MATIC, UNI, ZRX and BNB could also see a negative impact.

Its worth noting that while the court approval allows Celsius to convert altcoins into BTC and ETH, the exact details and timeline of the conver...

People Share the Most Amazing Stories That Theyve Ever Found Online

Friends, were going to warn you right off the top that the stories youre about to read are in-depthand some of them are pretty disturbing.

So hang on tight and check out what these AskReddit users had to say.

This guy who found a nightmare in the middle of nowhere.

When I was 19 I worked for a company that allocated labour to rural areas of Australia. Basically what you did was tell them when you were available, and theyd send you to a remote farm for a few weeks where youd do whatever they needed done. It was hard work and long hours, but good pay and good fun if you got in with a nice group of workers.

When this occurred, I was working on a large property (I was told it covered roughly the same landmass as the state of Maryland USA) about 9 hours from Sydney city, and the property itself was about 40 minutes from the nearest town. In short, it was the middle of nowhere.

I was working at the farm clearing bushland with 3 other guys my age from the city, our boss was a guy called Jeremy who owned the farm and supervised us while helping out with the work. He was pretty laid back, and was generally really good to us. This summer in particular was very hot, and the work was hard, so one day when the temperature hit about 38 degrees Celsius (about 100 Fahrenheit) Jeremy decided to give us the afternoon off.

He said he knew of a water hole on the farm about a 25 minute drive north, I was keen for a swim but the other guys just w...

Atheist Republic News Summary: How Quran-Burning Turned into a Diplomati... "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

  • How Quran-Burning Turned into a Diplomatic Nightmare for Sweden

https://www.atheistrepublic.com/news/how-quran-burning-turned-diplomatic-nightmare-sweden

Location: Sweden

In a provocative act during Eid al-Adha celebrations, an Iraqi refugee named Salwan Momika desecrated the Quran outside the Stockholm Central Mosque in Sweden. Momika tore up and set fire to the holy book, placed a strip of bacon on it, and stamped on it while waving Swedish flags. Surprisingly, the Muslim community largely dismissed or ignored the act, responding with calm and even distributing chocolates to the police present. Avsan Mezori, a Muslim in the crowd, expressed empathy for Momika but refused to give him attention, while Husam El Gomati, a political activist, saw it as a deliberate attempt to portray Muslims as violent. The incident drew criticism from Turkish officials, who have already blocked Sweden's NATO membership application due to other controversies. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson considered the act legal but inappropriate, leaving it to the police to handle such incidents. The US State Department condemned the Quran burning and urged Turkey to approve Sweden's NATO bid.

The shocking incident sent shockwaves across Kurdish social media, with furious netizens pointing fingers at Islamist parties and Salafists for fueling the hatred that led to Wirya's untimely demise. Binar Mustafa, a passionate Iraqi activist, mourned the loss of this talented soul, warning of the growing grip of religious conservatism in Iraqi Kurdistan. They believed it was their kid, and after a legal battle with the kids supposed mother, they brought the kid home. A whole parade happened due to the missing kids return. He lived and d**d believing he was, in fact, Bobby Dunbar.

Well, a few decades later, his granddaughter asked Bobbys (nephew I think?) for a DNA sample so she could see if her and Bobbys nephew were related. Turns out, they werent. Meaning the real Bobby Dunba...

AITA for customizing my burger?

For my nieces (my sisters child) 10th birthday a few days ago we went to a restaurant. I am pretty picky about food so I thought it would be easier rather than complain about the burger place she wanted to go to Id just take along some of my own stuff.

The actual meat is okay but they do horrible over sweet brioche and fancy named complex burgers and it makes the food basically inedible its so disgusting. I ordered their most basic burger with just some lettuce and had brought my own bread, some cheese and some BBQ sauce.

Nobody said anything at the time, none of the staff cared and honestly I think the guys at the next table were pretty jealous but afterwards my sister told me I was being a total a**hole and ruined the evening and drew all of the attention away from my niece on her birthday.

My niece didnt seem unhappy, basically nobody commented beyond haha dont you want one of these fancy burgers. I got to eat food that was actually edible and I dont think I was being an a**hole but idk.

Was my sister just being weird or does she have a point?

The James Webb satellite is like Hubbles big brother due to the fact that its infra-red sensors can see far beyond the limitations of the human visible spectrum and penetrate further beyond the dust, nebulas, proto planets, and dark matter into light from celestial objects thats billions of years old. There is a surprise that has come from this. The Big Bang theory is now falling out of favor. Why? In theory the matter that originated the universe we know was once condensed into a dense mass of matter that exploded and within seconds expanded into a universe that is supposedly moving away from the epicenter of the big bang location.

Time existed before the Big Bang | Lee Cronin IAI TV

The fabric of space time

Estimating that the Big Bang occurred 13.8 billion years ago the process of expansion has taken light years upon light years in order to produce a seemingly infinite structure of galaxies each with billions of stars and solar systems. Galaxies that are several light years across cover unimaginable distances, but the light emanated from these distant stars has been traveling for millions and even billions of years so that the James Webb telescope can see into the past but now in the present as many telescopes have been able to do, but not with such pin point clarity.  Heres the problem if one peers back in time closer to where the origin of the universe began there should be older galaxies that have spread outward and even collided with other galaxies making them the oldest known objects to have been created. They would have expanded outward but not newly formed near the point of origin.

Is the Big Bang Theory Wrong? | Neil deGrasse Tyson Explains... - YouTube

Somethings wrong

So, if the infinite expansion of the universe constantly moving away from itself is happening then why, when we can almost see where the Big BANG began are there new galaxies? They shouldnt be there they should be out in the furthest reaches of the universe as new forming galaxies rather than at the center of the oldest part of the universe where everything is supposed to be moving away from.. This completely contradicts the Big Bang theory. This tells us too that the universe may be even more infinite than suspected and that it did not come about from just one centralized explosion of dense, hot matter. So, where does the Multi-verse come in?

Affirmative Action and the Art Worlds White Elites "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

It is surprising to me that anyone would be surprised by the US Supreme Courts decision last week to ban affirmative action in college admissions. I have been hearing gripes about the policy since I was in high school in the 1970s and was accepted to Brown University, a member of the Ivy League, as a beneficiary of affirmative action. The prevailing assumption is that more deserving White people lose out to less deserving members of minority groups. There is no accompanying acknowledgment of the fact that less than academically stellar children of White donors and alumni are accepted to elite institutions over other applicants with records of greater academic accomplishment. That assumption also ignores the value of the resilience, grit, and resourcefulness of minority students who make it into elite colleges despite having fewer social connections and undervalued cultural capital. The resentment toward affirmative action harbored by many people mostly White is not always articulated openly because it is politically delicate for liberals to openly express their elitism and racist bias. Underlying this resentment is the persistent belief that racism is reducible to individual acts of mistreatment, preferably physical and visible. That resentment also bespeaks White peoples refusal to accept the fact that systemic racism affords them privileges, whatever their personal views may be.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Says Bitcoin Is An International Asset "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with nearly $9 trillion in assets under management, has made significant strides toward embracing bitcoin, as indicated by its recent filing for a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund. The companys decision to take steps to offer its clients exposure to the digital asset are likely to bring a surge of institutional adoption to the space.

The company also recently resubmitted their filing after the SEC responded that the initial filings required more information in regards to the exchanges involved, subsequently adding Coinbase to the filing, as other firms refiling did.

And now, BlackRocks CEO, Larry Fink, has made an appearance on Fox Business where he stated that the role of bitcoin and crypto is digitizing gold.

Instead of investing in gold as a hedge against inflation or the devaluation of your currency [bitcoin] can represent an asset that people can play as an alternative, Fink stated. The description reinforces the perception of bitcoin as a store of value, akin to the role gold has traditionally played in investment portfolios. By likening bitcoin to gold, Fink acknowledges the international nature of the digital asset, highlighting its potential as a global store of wealth and indeed, during his news appearance, Fink further emphasized that, "Bitcoin is an international asset."

The televised statement underscores the conviction Fink, and likely BlackRock, have in bitcoin and its potential role in the future. Fink's recognition of bitcoin's international appeal further bolsters the case for increased institutional interest and investment.

BlackRock's pursuit of a Bitcoin ETF and Fink's endorsement of bitcoin as digitized gold reflect a notable shift in the attitude of major financial institutions toward bitcoin. These developments suggest that BlackRock, along with other industry giants, recognizes the potential of bitcoin to reshape the financial landscape.

Leonardo da Vinci is famous for many things. His portfolio of work ranges from his most recognizable masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, to his Vitruvian Man and The Last Supper. His brilliance was virtually endless, touching realms of art, science, and engineering. This boundless genius is captured in the over 1,000 pages of his notebooks which are bound together in the Codex Atlanticus. Twelve pages from this volume are free to be viewed by the public in a once-in-a-lifetime exhibit in Washington, D.C.

Da Vinci designed countless machines, including visionary ideas such as self-propelling carts and flying machines. He designed hoists to lift heavy objects and weapons for use in warfare. Meanwhile, he was also a student of human anatomy and angles. His notebooks are packed with knowledge. The hundreds of pages were collected into 12 volumes known as the Codex Atlanticus in the 16th century by sculptor Pompeo Leoni. Da Vinci's writings and sketches date to between 1478 and 1519. Although the records are voluminous, only 12 sheets have traveled to America to be displayed at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, D.C.

Seeing da Vincis notebooks outside of Italy is an extreme rarity. The Codex normally lives at Milans Biblioteca Ambrosiana. The pages are delicate and extremely light sensitive. The dozen pages currently on display will only be viewable for two months to limit their exposure. After the exhibit ends,...

And this woman is so worked up that shes thinking of suing her daughter-in-law.

Is she acting like an a**hole?

Check out her story and see what you think.

AITA for threatening a lawsuit against my daughter-in-law?

Hi. I am a grandma and I own a pretty good business in accounting.

Im not filthy rich, but I surely have a good amount of money and Ive set aside a lot of money for my grandson for college, or for a house if he decides not to go to college.

Every year for his birthday for the past 8 years I have given him around $800 a year for christmas and his birthday, so he can enjoy himself. Its quite a hefty sum of money, but he is a great child and I believe he deserves the money. He is 15 at the moment.

Well, recently he came forward and told me for 5 years that my daughter in law has stolen a lot of money from him, and some from my son as well. It turned out that she was spending a lot of money to herself and decided to pretend that my grandsons money would be going towards college funds (It was usually through gift cards, so how would it even go towards a college in the first place?).

Not only this but apparently he was barely even FED and didnt get basic necessities a lot of the time. 6 years ago she broke up with my s...

In Latin, memento mori translates roughly to remember you will die and has been used as a visual trope employed in art for centuries, often in the form of a skull. In 17th-century Vanitas still-life paintings, other symbols like hour glasses, clocks, extinguished candles, fruit, flowers, or game animals were added as a constant reminder of the fleetingness of life. For artist Sarah Conti, the nature of existence is as much a subject as the avians she sculpts. Existing in delicate balance within their increasingly imperiled habitats, she says, [Birds] cant evolve at the rate we are changing the world.

Surrounded by family members who were avid birders, the artist traces her interest in the feathered creatures to childhood. The more she learned, the more she admired how birds have captured humankinds imagination. Later on while enrolled at the University of Montana in Missoula, the onset of the pandemic made the schools studio spaces inaccessible, prompting her to be outdoors more often. She says, All the time I used to spend in the studio transitioned into time spent in wetlands and woods looking for birds. I had the time and access to see many new species, and it ignited so much interest and wonder in me....

New Study Suggests That Pre-Washing Rice Does Not Reduce Stickiness

Pre-Washing Rice

Photo: belchonock/Depositphotos

If you cook rice regularly, then you've probably been told to pre-wash it. While this is a good practice to rinse off potential dust and remaining hull, some culinary experts also recommend washing to reduce hardness or stickiness in your rice. Well, according to a new study, pre-washing grains does not affect the result.

The experiment was conducted with three varieties of rice: glutinous rice, medium grain rice, and jasmine rice. All types underwent the same pre-washing conditions before being cooked. While rinsing the uncooked rice removed free starch from the milling process, the researchers found that it did not affect the inner structure of the rice grains. As a result, the prepared rice displayed the same stickiness properties regardless of whether it was pre-washed or not. This is because the stickiness is attributed to a starch called amylopectin, which is leached out of rice during the cooking process. As a result, the researchers found that the stickiness qualities were due to the variety of rice in question. In the case of this experiment, glutinous rice was found to be the stickiest.

Although this study suggests that pre-washing holds no bearing on the texture of cooked rice, that does not mean that it is a useless practice. In addition to cleaning the rice grains from lingering husk, stones, and even insects, rinsing can also reduce microplastics by 40%. Not only that but depending on where the rice is grown, it can also contain high levels of arsenic. A pre-washing routine will help lower your risk for exposure to these different factors.

A new study suggests that pre-washing rice does not reduce stickiness or hardness.

Spent my pre-adolescence there during the previous rule of the junta, when Suu Kyi was in house arrest. I cannot begin to explain the fear that was present in everyday life there then.

My father had to be at Yangon for some pretty run-of-the-mill corporate work and was nonetheless always on alert. As a 10/11/12-year-old, I was not allowed to answer telephones, lest I reveal something that might seem problematic to the administration.

The Intriguing Science Behind Rains Aroma: Can You Smell When The Rain Is Coming? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Have you ever found yourself standing at the threshold of your home on a sizzling summer day, or on a crisp, bone-chilling winter afternoon, convinced you could smell the rain coming? As it turns out, this phenomenon isnt universally experienced, leading many to question if its rooted in scientific fact or if it merely exists as a whimsical myth.

If youve browsed through social media on a particularly cloudy day, you might have noticed a polarizing debate: there are those who assertively proclaim their unique ability to predict rainfall through olfactory cues, while others appear notably doubtful. However, regardless of which camp youre in, theres some fascinating evidence that supports the concept of pre-rain odors. Numerous factors contribute to this olfactory phenomenon, with a primary component being the enchanting scent known as petrichor.

The Mesmerizing Mystique of Petrichor

Petrichor, a term rooted in Greek with petros meaning stone and ichor standing for the ethereal fluid coursing through the veins of ancient gods, represents the intoxicating, earthy aroma that pervades the atmosphere post rainfall, especially following a prolonged dry spell. Mineralogists Isabel Joy Bear and Richard Thomas first introduced this term to the world in 1964, unwittingly kindling widespread fascination with this mysterious smell.

Though petrichor consistently ranks among favorite natural fragrances for many people, the reason behind its appealing allure wasnt understood until recently. In an enlightening 2020 study, researchers discovered the tantalizing scent of petrichor wasnt just enticing to humans but proved irresistible to a variety of other animals as well.

Russia Says A Ukrainian Attack On Zaporizhzhia Facility With a Dirty Nuclear Device Is Imminent "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Ukraine could launch a large-scale attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) overnight, a senior Russian atomic energy industry official warned late on Tuesday. Kyiv may also strike the plant with a missile stuffed with radioactive waste, he added.

On July 5, literally overnight, while its still dark, Ukrainian forces will attempt an attack on the Zaporizhzhia plant with long-range high-precision munitions, as well as suicide drones, he told Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The ZNPP was seized by Moscow from Ukraine early into the ongoing conflict, getting formally transferred under Rosatom management as the Zaporizhzhia region became incorporated into Russia after a referendum. Both Moscow and Kyiv have repeatedly accused each other of subjecting the Russian-controlled facility to artillery fire and drone strikes. RT

The warning was voiced by Renat Karchaa, a senior aide to the head of Rosenergoatom, a subsidiary of Russias state-owned atomic energy giant Rosatom. The official cited intelligence data received by the industry.

These warnings are not new. Russia has long claimed that Ukraine will use a dirty bomb or a false flag attack (claiming Russia used a nuclear bomb) in the ongoing conflict.

Russia Claims Ukraine Considered Using A Dirty Bomb Attack

President Vladimir Zelensky said Moscow wanted to cause a radiation leakage at the plant, while his aide Mikhail Podoliak accused Russia of placing mines in the plants cooling pond. The surge in XRPs daily burn rate has been a topic of great interest within the crypto community. Just a month ago, the total supply of XRP stood at 99,988,863,851. However, it has now dropped to 99,988,616,835, indicating a reduction of 247,016 XRP.

With the total supply of XRP decreasing by 247,016 over the course of just 30 days, equivalent to an average of approximately 8,233 XRP burned per day, the stage is set for a potential upward trend that could lead to a significant appreciation in XRPs value.

In comparison to the figures observed in previous months, the recent 247,016 burned XRP represents a significant increase. This development has prompted crypto enthusiasts to question the potential for further growth and whether it could drive XRPs value to unprecedented heights.

Ancient Maya City Discovered Under Jungle Forests in Mexico After 1,000 Years

Thousands of miles of dense, lush jungle cover much of Central America. The jungle hides many incredible creatures and biodiversity, but it also obscures important human-made structures. Beneath the greenery, hundreds of ruins of buildings built by the ancient Maya and Olmec peoples have been discovered in recent decades using modern technology. The use of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) scanning technology to sweep digital eyes over thousands of acres quickly, these sites emerge from landscape and history. Most recently, Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) has announced the discovery of a 1,000-year-old Mayan city in the Balamk ecological reserve on the Yucatn Peninsula.

The city was discovered with LiDAR in March 2023. The images taken by the technology showed buildings as topography under the jungle cover. Lead archaeologist of the project, Ivan prajc, set about searching through the junglean incredible search covering an area larger than the European country of Luxembourg. On the high ground of a peninsula, the site spans over 123 acres with the remains of large buildings, including pyramid ruins almost 50 feet high. The site also has stairs, plazas, and many stone columns. In honor of this last feature, the team named the site Ocomtn meaning stone column in Yucatec Mayan.

The site dates to the Mayan Classical period, which lasted approximately from 250 to 1,000 CE. During this period,...

On Mexican Baroque "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Each time I return to Mexico I find myself marveling at how many elements of daily life there could, in some way, be described as Baroque: our sunsets, our cuisine, our pollution, our corruption. Century after century, the country has exhibited a great tendency towards exuberance, and a natural bent for the strange and the marvelous. Theres a constant play between veiling and unveiling (even in our newscasts, one senses indirect meaning in everything), as well as a fluidity of form, in which excess triumphs, every time, over restraint.

Three hundred years of colonial rule produced an intense syncretism of indigenous and European cultures, a bold new aesthetic accompanied by many new paradoxes, and these can be glimpsed today in both lighter and darker manifestations, some playful and others barbaric.

Mexican Baroque emerged from the conquest of the New World, from the long, fraught process of negotiation and subjugation that began to unfold once the Spaniards established their rule in 1521. The European monarchs wanted as much gold as their conquistadores could plunder, while their missionaries sought to convert the pagan savages to Catholicism. The Aztecs of course had their own gods, a monumental pantheon that included the fierce and formidable Quetzalcoatl and Huitzilopochtli, yet these ancient powers proved no match for colonial rapacity.

There was one pivotal overlap between the two religions, however, a fortuitous convergence which helped ease the transition from the Aztec cosmology to the Catholic faith. And this was the theater of death present in both religions. Accustomed to their own...

The takedown of this anti-feminist is quite the watch and for once Piers Morgans face said it all "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

We have to say we hadnt come across Pearl Davis before, the anti-feminist influencer whos raising a new generation of misogynists online.

Davis has been compared to Andrew Tate and while she has explicitly denied she hates women, her opinions apparently include: women have it easier in society, men should be able to hit women back, women dont deserve to be with a well-paid man if theyre obese, its a womans fault if a man cheats on her and women are entirely responsible for unwanted pregnancies.

We only mention her (shes not very keen on divorce either) because of her appearance on Piers Morgans Talk TV show on Tuesday where she found herself up against journalist Ava Santina and its quite the watch.

In Surreal Collages, Julie Liger-Belair Explores Home, Interiority, and the Terrain of Dreams "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The Nowhere Plan. All images Julia Liger-Belair, shared with permission

The house can be a symbol of comfort and refuge from the harsh world. A house, in other words, can be a reflection of everything we hold dear, says Toronto-based artist Julie Liger-Belair, whose mixed-media collages often center on depictions of home. But a house can also be a place of fear, oppression, and powerlessness, she adds. Im really obsessed by this duality.

Liger-Belair augments found photographs, historical portraits, botanicals, and patterned papers with a range of drawing media. During the pandemic, when quarantines enforced boundaries between interior spaces and the outside world, she started to consider what it means to do or show something on the inside. This led to incorporating motifs related to living spaces and enigmatic dwellers. Bodies merge with architecture, botanicals bloom from torsos and limbs, and otherworldly landscapes extend into the distance.

The Y chromosome is disappearing so what will happen to men? "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Darren Griffin, University of Kent and Peter Ellis, University of Kent

The Y chromosome may be a symbol of masculinity, but it is becoming increasingly clear that it is anything but strong and enduring. Although it carries the master switch gene, SRY, that determines whether an embryo will develop as male (XY) or female (XX), it contains very few other genes and is the only chromosome not necessary for life. Women, after all, manage just fine without one.

Whats more, the Y chromosome has degenerated rapidly, leaving females with two perfectly normal X chromosomes, but males with an X and a shrivelled Y. If the same rate of degeneration continues, the Y chromosome has just 4.6m years left before it disappears completely. This may sound like a long time, but it isnt when you consider that life has existed on Earth for 3.5 billion years.

The Y chromosome hasnt always been like this. If we rewind the clock to 166m years ago, to the very first mammals, the story was completely different. The early proto-Y chromosome was originally the same size as the X chromosome and contained all the same genes. However, Y chromosomes have a fundamental flaw. Unlike all other chromosomes, which we have two copies of in each of our cells, Y chromosomes are only ever present as a single copy, passed from fathers to their sons.

This means that genes on the Y chromosome cannot undergo genetic recombination, the shuffling of genes that occurs in each generation which helps to eliminate damaging gene mutations. Deprived of the benefits of recombination, Y chromosomal genes degenerate over time and are eventually lost from the genome.

The first and possibly the most important one is: How long are we going to be told what to do and how to do it by the elites in charge? Eyewitness to RIOTS in France says THIS is the true cause "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

France is on fire. Nearly a week of protests and riots in response to a police shooting have led to violence, looting, and massive clashes on the streets in several cities. Ezra Levant, Rebel News Founder, has been in Marseille witnessing just some of the French turmoil. And he believes these riots go beyond a single, police-related incident. Rather, he tells Glenn, this is about a real separation between the French people and the migrants who seem unwilling to adopt France and its way of life as their new home. And if this kind of ethnic tension doesnt find a resolution, Levant predicts, these trends will continue to get worse not only in France, but around the world as well

Head to http://franceonfire.com/ for more updates from Ezra about the situation unfolding in France.
