Abandoned Materials Are Upcycled Into Charming Bug Sculptures

Upcycled Sculptures of Bugs by Mark Oliver

Abandoned materials find new life in Mark Olivers charming sculptures. The UK-based artist upcycles everything from scrap metal to playing cards, carefully assembling different parts together until he creates amazing figurines that resemble fantastical insects.

This ongoing series, titled Litter Bugs, features collage sculptures of various shapes and sizes. Oliver credits his father's collection of electrical and engineering components for inspiring his interest in layering different elements together. Urban entomology is my post-modern bow of respect to the Victorian tradition of insect collecting, where the decaying and disposed ofthe litter of modernityis assembled to create an illusory collage, he tells My Modern Met. I intend the work to fascinate from a distance, and reveal humor and beautiful art upon closer inspection.

While random on their own, these foraged parts work harmoniously together to depict a fictional insect. Not only that but by assembling these scraps into new works of art, Oliver is returning litter to nature. My work creatively employs these inorganic found' items to mimic delicate, organic forms, which (if genuine) might, themselves, employ the instinct of mimicry or disguise, he adds. Litter Bugs have been exhibited internationally and in various galleries across the UK.

You can purchase available art via Oliver's online shop, and keep up to date with his latest work by following him on Instagram.

XRP, Cardano Among Altcoins To Keep An Eye On: Santiment "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p>Data from Santiment shows XRP and Cardano, among other altcoins, may be the ones worth keeping an eye on in the coming days.</p> <h2>Social Dominance Of Altcoins Like XRP & Cardano Has Remained Low Recently

According to data from the analytics firm Santiment, Bitcoin is seeing the greatest attention in the market right now, while some of the alts arent being talked about that much. The indicator of interest here is <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/altcoin/internet-computer-icp-social-dominance-hits-top-in/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">social dominance</a>, to understand which the social volume needs to be looked at first.</p> <p>The <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/altcoin/xrp-ethereum-increased-social-talk-bitcoin-loses-interest/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">social volume</a> is a metric that measures the total amount of unique social media posts/threads that are making mentions of a given asset or term. By unique, whats meant here is that the indicator only counts these posts once regardless of how many times they mention the term (obviously, as long as they make at least one mention).</p> <p>If the metric counted the pure number of mentions instead, then a thread with a large number of mentions could raise the count by itself, even if mentions may be low everywhere else on social media. Thus, to obtain a more accurate representation of the trend in the wider market, the social volume only considers unique posts.</p> <p>Now, social dominance is an indicator that compares the social volume of a given cryptocurrency with the combined social volume of the top 100 assets (by market cap) in the sector.</p> <p>Here is a chart that shows the trend in the social dominance of the five largest coins in the market: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), BNB (BNB), XRP (XRP), and Cardano (ADA):<img alt= "XRP, Cardano Social Dominance" class="alignnone aligncenter" height="1802" src= "https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F0ItSimaMAYJnBt?format=jpg&name=4096x4096" width="2836"></p> <p>As displayed in the above graph, the social dominance of Bitcoin has been high since the rally started around the start of the year. The asset has been leading the price surge in these last few months, so its not particularly surprising that the interest in the cryptocurrency has been elevated during this period.</p> <p>Discussions around BTC on social media had been dropping slightly last month when FUD had been going around in the market, but with the <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/bitcoin-news/bitcoin-sharks-whales-strong-buying-rally-continue-july/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">latest leg in the rally</a> above the $30,000 level, interest has once again spiked in the coin.</p> <p>While this has happe...

Unique Phone Stands

Most of us are used to carrying our phones in our hands or in our pockets at most hours of the day, but sometimes it's nice to give your device a place to sit. At My Modern Met Store, we carry a selection of unique smartphone holders that are as helpful as they are decorative. This way you can watch videos, scroll, and read while being hands-free.

The Bird Beechwood Phone Stand, for instance, is a minimalistic helper that has been cleverly carved so that the swoop of the bird's tail will hold any phone or tablet at a slight angle. Simply prop your device on the back of the birdy and enjoy browsing or streaming without worrying about your tech falling over.

If you want your phone stand to have a more humorous touch, Artori Design has you covered. Their playful phone holders feature silhouettes of people who are just as attached to their devices as we are. For example, Chatty Patty, features a black silhouette of a female figure who is sitting down and talking on the phone. She kicks her feet up to make sure your phone stays standing up. This way, you can continue using your device with greater ease.

Solana (SOL) Price Targets 40% Rally Amid Strong Fundamentals "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Solana (SOL) price is currently at a crucial turning point, which will be of decisive importance for the coming weeks. If the SOL bulls manage to leap above the currently most important resistance, a rally of up to 40% could be on the cards. If the bulls lose the upper hand, another plunge of up to 21% could be imminent.

Crucial Moment For The SOL Price

An analysis of the 1-day chart using Fibonacci retracements shows that the SOL price is at a pivotal point for the coming weeks. At the time of writing, SOL was trading at $19.19, just below the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level. So far, SOL bulls have failed to break above this level at $19.72.

If successful, the price level above $21, at which SOL was trading before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) classification of the Solana token was announced, would again be within reach. A bit further up, the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) awaits the SOL price at $22.05 an indicator often described as a bull line that SOL investors have been unable to break above since April 2022.

In this bullish scenario, the 200-day EMA can be considered as the second most important challenge for SOL bulls. An upside break could allow the price to rise to the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level at $27.00, which also marked the year-to-date high, potentially marking a 40% rally. At this level at the latest, a preliminary pause in the rally is to be expected.

In a bearish case, SOL fails to capture the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level. In this case, a drop towards $15.30 is conceivable, which would represent a price loss of around 21%.

Data shows 63,060% increase in CHILD DEATHS since rollout of Pfizers COVID-19 jab for children in Europe "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A recent analysis by EuroMOMO, an organization entrusted with official statistical data from European countries, revealed that there was a direct correlation between the approval of Pfizers Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine for kids and a surge in excess deaths among children. It showed a staggering 63,060 percent surge in excess deaths among children aged zero to 14 by the 22nd week of 2023 from when the vaccine had been given emergency use authorization (EUA) by drug regulator European Medicines Agency (EMA). The data covers 26 out of the 44 countries in Europe. A report by independent news outlet Expose provided a chart that covered the period from January 3 to March 27, 2022, and concluded a total number of SARS-CoV-2 cases categorized by vaccination status and age group in England. The data, extracted from the U.K. Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Week 5, (page 43), Week 9 (page 41) and Week 13 (page 41) COVID-19 Vaccine Surveillance report painted a vivid picture of the disconcerting reality, reported Expose. Another revealing chart indicated the case rates per 100,000 people, also segregated by vaccination status and age group in the country. The chart showed an alarming disparity, with case rates skyrocketing among the triple-vaccinated population in every age group. During week 21 of 2021, EMA extended the EUA of Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine, first to children aged 12 to 15 and later to the five to 11 age group. From then on, a shocking rise in excess deaths among children was observed. Between weeks 22...

Greetings from Thoughtcriminal 231Js1736/23! Thats my official Thoughtcrime Case Number, which my attorney needs to reference in all our official correspondence with the New Normal Thoughtpolice. I think Im going to silk-screen it on a T-shirt and wear it on my first day in Moabit Criminal Court, the largest criminal court in Europe with 340 judges and 360 prosecutors. Thats right, the Berlin State Prosecutors office is pursuing its criminal investigation of me for allegedly disseminating propaganda, the content of which is intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization, which according to Germanys Grundgesetz could send me to prison for up to three years. My attorney wrote to them and politely explained how ridiculous their investigation is and why they should summarily drop the charges, but New Normal Germany has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to Thoughtcrime, especially Thoughtcrime involving any kind of Covid-denying propaganda. Coinbase Stock Soars Nearly 12% As BlackRock Reveals Surveillance Partnership "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Coinbase, a prominent United States cryptocurrency exchange, has recently witnessed an upswing in its COIN share prices. This surge comes on the heels of the worlds largest asset manager, BlackRock, choosing Coinbase as a surveillance partner for its re-filed Bitcoin ETF application.

In the limelight of this crypto-mainstream finance crossover, Coinbases shares have soared by a nearly 12% over the past day.

Renewed BlackRock Application Spurs Coinbase Growth

Nasdaq disclosed on July 3 that BlackRock, the eminent entity in worldwide asset management, had updated its proposal for a spot Bitcoin ETF, incorporating new specifics about a surveillance-sharing agreement with Coinbase.

This news triggered a bullish response in the market, and Coinbase shares skyrocketed, marking a significant day in the crypto market landscape. The details in the application outline an agreement between Nasdaq and Coinbase forged last month.

The pact, intended to supplement the exchanges market surveillance program, provides Nasdaq access to spot BTC trade data. The report revealed that should BlackRocks Bitcoin ETF gain approval, Nasdaq expects to leverage the data obtained from Coinbase in surveilling the trading.

Notably, the regulatory landscape around cryptocurrencies in the US remains a hotbed of speculation and anticipation. While the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted approval to a number of futures-based ETFs, a spot-based one, physically backed by the asset as opposed to CME contracts, has not yet been given the green light.

Refiled applications for multiple companies looking to launch spot BTC funds emerged last week, facilitated by Cboe. This includes Fidelity, WisdomTree, VanEck, and Invesco, all of which have listed Coinbase as a surveillance-sharing partner, further amplifying Coinbases critical role in the process.

Nate Geraci, the President of ETF Store, believes that the launch of a spot Bitcoin ETF will shatter previous ETF launch r...

How Ordinal Inscriptions Will Drive Adoption Of Bitcoins Lightning Network "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Jesse Shrader, the co-founder and CEO of Amboss, a Lightning Network explorer and analytics tool.

For years, you could basically only do two things on the Bitcoin network: You could save BTC or you could spend it. Then, a late 2021 privacy upgrade had the unintended consequence of allowing data storage on the Bitcoin blockchain, resulting in NFT-like inscriptions and BRC-20 tokens, both applying Ordinal Theory for asset tracking.

The popularity of NFT-like Ordinal inscriptions and the experimental BRC-20 token standard has driven up transaction costs across the Bitcoin network. The frothy demand for stamping limited block space with new data pushed transaction costs so high that in May 2023, Binance twice had to pause BTC withdrawals, a risky and undesirable step for a global exchange. To help manage the transaction costs, Binance announced it would start using the Lightning Network a decentralized, Layer 2 network designed for fast transactions bypassing the underlying Bitcoin blockchain to process BTC withdrawals.

While some argue that Bitcoin should stick to being digital gold, I dont see it that way.

As a store of value, bitcoin will continue to provide a trustless alternative to central banking; other uses of its immutable blockchain dont diminish this function. On the contrary, emergent uses of the Bitcoin blockchain will drive more efficient use of the limited block space, leading to broad adoption of Lightning Network as a scaling solution for bitcoin as a global currency. The Lightning Networks growth will provide a trustless alternative to centralized payment processors, expanding Bitcoins utility.

Challenges Faced By BRC-20 Tokens

The BRC-20 token standard is extremely new created in March 2023. If its name sounds familiar, thats because its somewhat akin to ERC-20 tokens such as Shiba Inu and MakerDAO that run atop the Ethereum network. Whereas Bitcoin has traditionally been about storing and transmitting value, BRC-20s allow for other assets to be minted in an Ordinal inscription. Now, a slew of BRC-20s have popped up for trading and speculation, many in the form of meme tokens, from...

USDC Circulating Supply Down 38% Since Jan. 1 Will It Affect Price? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

USDC experienced a notable decrease in its circulating supply during the weekend, causing ripples of concern within the cryptocurrency market. According to data from CoinGecko, the stablecoins circulating supply dwindled by over 2%, falling from $27.9 billion on June 30 to $27.3 billion in less than 48 hours.

This sudden drop has intensified existing worries regarding the stability and long-term viability of stablecoins in the volatile world of cryptocurrencies. Since the beginning of the year, the total supply of USDC has exhibited a downward trajectory, plunging by a staggering 38%.

This continuous decline raises questions about the underlying factors contributing to the diminishing supply of USDC and its potential impact on the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Declining Circulating Supply And Its Impact On USDCs Price

The decrease in USDCs circulating supply can have significant implications for its price and overall value. As the supply of a stablecoin decreases, its scarcity may result in increased demand from investors and traders. If the demand for USDC remains steady or rises, the reduced supply could potentially push its price higher, following the basic principles of supply and demand economics.

However, this effect may not be linear, as other factors such as market sentiment, regulatory developments, and the overall performance of the broader cryptocurrency market can also influence USDCs price movements.

Market Perception And Trust Concerns

The declining circulating supply of USDC might also trigger questions regarding the underlying reasons behind the reduction. Investors and users may question the transparency and credibility of the stablecoins issuer or the overall health of its backing reserves.

Any perceived lack of clarity or uncertainty could lead to reduced trust in USDC, causing some participants to seek alternative stablecoin options or ev...

Rough-Hewn Deities Rise from the Streets of Vietnam in Kumkum Fernandos Growing World of Futuristic Figures "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Three figurative sculptures made of geometric shapes that appear worn and robotic

Koha, Manike the Maniac, and Lomba. All images Kumkum Fernando, shared with permission

At once totemic and automaton-like, the deities built in Studio REBORN in Saigon are bound by mystique. The characters are scions of the Vietnamese city, emerging from doors, windows, tabletops, and abandoned architecture that Kumkum Fernando collects, cleans, and repurposes as figurative sculptures. While the found materials may have lost their original paint or patterns, the artist faithfully honors this history, often recreating motifs and color palettes reflected on the final forms.

Born in Sri Lanka to an antique collector, Fernando incorporates this background into his pieces, both through the act of scouring construction sites, resale shops, and streetside trash bins for wood and other items used in his practice and through adornment. Many of his sculptures include elements of folkloric tales and temple paintings that infuse the pieces with a spiritual, mythical quality and reference Sri Lankan culture.

Fernandos latest body of work abandons the sleek, boldly vibrant forms of recent years to instead focus on a gritty, post-apocalyptic narrative. I started out by making notebooks and toy cars using old Vietnamese building parts before transitioning to glossy figurative pieces, he tells Colossal of his evolution. I began to miss the textures and colors I used to work with. Thats when I decided to go back and incorporate aspects I loved from the beginning into this series.

On view now at Jonathan Levine Projects, the characters of Post Colonial Rainbow Punks are intergalactic swashbucklerspart gangsters, part mythical beings.&#8221...

Stravinskys Illegal Arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner (1944) "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In 1939, Igor Stravinsky emigrated to the United States, first arriving in New York City, before settling in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he delivered the Charles Eliot Norton lectures at Harvard during the 1939-40 academic year. While living in Boston, the composer conducted the Boston Symphony and, on one famous occasion, he decided to conduct his own arrangement of the The Star-Spangled Banner, which he made out a desire to do my bit in these grievous times toward fostering and preserving the spirit of patriotism in this country. The date was January, 1944. And he was, of course, referring to Americas role in World War II.

As you might expect, Stravinskys version on The Star-Spangled Banner wasnt entirely conventional, seeing that it added a dominant seventh chord to the arrangement. And the Boston police, not exactly an organization with avant-garde sensibilities, issued Stravinsky a warning, claiming there was a law against tampering with the national anthem. (They were misreading the statute.) Grudgingly, Stravinsky pulled it from the bill.

PEPE Breaches Local Highs With 20% Leap In Surprise Comeback "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

PEPE has recently made a stunning comeback by surpassing its local highs with a remarkable 20% weekly surge. This unexpected turn of events have provided some relief to investors who thought the frog-themed coin will never be able to get back on its feet again.

What has propelled this sudden comeback, and what does it signify for the future of this meme coin?

PEPE Maintains Bullish Pace As Open Interest Rises

PEPE, currently priced at $0.00000185 according to CoinGecko, has recently experienced a remarkable surge in its value. Over the course of 24 hours, the asset witnessed a notable rally of 16%, and within the span of just seven days, it soared by an impressive 20%.

Upon analyzing the OI (Open Interest) chart from Coinglass, it becomes evident that the surge in PEPE prices was accompanied by a simultaneous increase in Open Interest. This indicates that speculators in the Futures market were not only convinced of a bullish move but were also willing to bid on the asset, expressing their confidence in its potential.

Furthermore, a PEPE price report revealed that the Relative Strength Index (RSI) displayed bullish momentum. Prior to the rally, PEPE came close to testing the 50% retracement level at $0.00000135.

This observation suggests that the asset is likely to approach and potentially...

Bullish On Bitcoin And Crypto: Why A Major Recession Crash Is Not Coming "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In the world of financial markets, Bitcoin and crypto, fear and uncertainty often dominate the headlines. Over the past few months, there has been growing speculation about an impending recession and the possibility of a major crash in risk assets. Theses such as Bitcoin will rise to $40,000 and then crash are currently in abundance.

While the majority of analysts expect a recessionary crash, with the timing being hotly disputed, macro analyst Alex Krueger presents a compelling case for why such fears may be unfounded. In his research report, Krger debunks prevalent bearish theses and sheds light on why he remains bullish on risk assets, including Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Debunking Bearish Theses For Risk Assets Like Bitcoin

According to Krger, the upcoming recession, if any, has been one of the most widely anticipated in history. This anticipation has led to market participants and economic actors preparing themselves, thereby reducing the probability and potential magnitude of the recession. As Krger astutely points out, What truly matters is not if data comes in positive or negative, but if data comes in better or worse than what is priced in.

One flawed notion often associated with recessions is the belief that risk assets must bottom out when a recession occurs. Krger highlights the limited sample size of US recessions and provides a counterexample from Germany, where the DAX has reached all-time highs despite the country being in a recession. This serves as a reminder that the relationship between recessions and risk assets is not as straightforward as some might assume.

Valuations, another key aspect of market analysis, can be subjective and dependent on various factors. The analyst emphasizes that biases in data and timeframe selection can significantly impact valuations. While some metrics might suggest overvaluation, Krger suggests looking closer at fair pricing indicators, such as the forward price-to-earnings ratio for the S&P 500 ex FAANG. By taking a nuanced approach, investors can gain a more accurate understanding of the market landscape.

Furthermore, the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) presents a revolutionary opportunity. Krger highlights...

Truck Driver Cameras Privacy A Female Truck Driver Said Her Workplace Installed Cameras in Her Truck That Stay on When She Changes Clothes

Being a trucker is not one of those jobs that I would think could be micromanaged on some levels, but this story has me thinking a little bit differently.

A female truck driver shared a video on TikTok where she talked about how her employers installed surveillance measures that no employee should have to endure.

As she puts it

I used to love this company because I knew that they have my best interest at heart. However, that completely changed and went out the window when they installed cameras into our trucks.

Now she seems to be pretty p**sed off about it, because the cameras are only supposed to be on for a short period of time after the truck shuts down.

Curve DAO Notches 17% Climb As Native Stablecoin Gains Traction "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

So far, Curve DAO has been seeing enormous gains at the start of the month as CRVUSD, Curves native stablecoin, gains significant traction in users.

According to recent data posted by Curve DAOs official Twitter page, the stablecoin has reached a supply and debt level of over $50 million, which indicates that the stablecoin is being used heavily just after two months after its launch.

CRVUSD now joins the growing number of stablecoins available in the industry. However, another tense moment in the crypto market occurred last month.

Major Hiccup In The Stablecoin Industry

Just last month, Tethers USDT depegged, prompting serious fears of another collapse on the horizon. According to some sources, it was mostly caused by an imbalance within Curve DAOs Curve 3Pool. This small imbalance caused a 70% surge in USDTs balance which indicated a significant sell-off.

In an interview with Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino, he emphasized Tethers role as a gateway to liquidity and how Tether is solid. He also puts confidence in USDT by saying that these events are a good test for us.

Meanwhile, there is virtually no fear, uncertainty, or doubt surrounding CRVUSD, thanks to the ecosystems innovative utilization of LLAMMAan exclusive algorithm designed specifically for CRVUSD.

LLAMMA: How Does It Work?

In a Twitter thread created by Poopman DeFi, LLAMMA uses a concept known as soft liquidation. The user must first deposit sfrxETH as collateral to borrow CRVUSD at an overcollatelrized ratio of 117%. LLAMMA then uses the price fluctuations of the two assets to rebalance the ratio between the two.

Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Suing Her Brother and His Wife

You know things are pretty bad when family members sue each otherand its something that none of us like to see or hear about.

And the woman who wrote this story seems to be pretty broken up about if shes an a**hole because she told her brother and his wife that she will be suing them.

Did she go too far?

Check out her story and see what you think.

AITA for telling my brother and his wife that I will be suing them for selling the nursery I gave them?

I (f36) lost my 3 year old son from a chronic condition that he was born with. I struggled a lot with his illness and received a lot of support from my family when my ex husband was too busy with work than care for his son.

When my brother and his wife found out they were expecting (they suffered from a miscarriage after a miscarriage) and because of their financial situation I decided to lend them my sons nursery to use for their baby under the condition they give it back when they no longer need it. Its an expensive nursery and the process of shipping (I live in another country) took me time and money and of course not to mention its sentimental value.

They were so grateful for my help and appreciated it a lot but my sister in law unfortunately lost her baby at 5 months in the pregnancy and I heard from my mother since my brother and sister in law went low contact with everyone to be able to grieve. I waited few months before asking for the nursery back since they no longer need it.

I called and asked my bro...

MATIC Price Prediction: Polygon Bulls Aim For $0.80 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

MATIC price is recovering from the $0.60 support zone. Polygon might rise further toward the $0.75 and $0.80 resistance levels.

  • MATIC price is attempting a recovery wave above the $0.68 resistance against the US dollar.
  • The price is trading above $0.70 and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours).
  • There was a break above a key declining channel with resistance near $0.650 on the 4-hour chart of the MATIC/USD pair (data source from Kraken).
  • The pair could continue to rise if it clears the $0.720 resistance zone.

Polygons MATIC Price Starts Recovery

After a major decline, Polygons price found support near the $0.60 zone. MATIC traded as low as $0.600 and recently started a recovery wave.

The recent gains in Ethereum and Bitcoin also helped altcoins such as MATIC and ADA. MATIC was able to climb above the $0.65 and $0.68 resistance levels. Besides, there was a break above a key declining channel with resistance near $0.650 on the 4-hour chart of the MATIC/USD pair.

The price is now trading above $0.70 and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours). A high is formed near $0.7205 and the price is now consolidating gains.

It is well above the 23.6% trading above $0.70 and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours).. Immediate resistance is near the $0.720 level. The first major resistance is near the $0.75 level. If there is an upside break above the $0.750 resistance level, the price could continue to rise.

MATIC Price Prediction

The next major resistance is near $0.78. A clear move above the $0.78 resistance could start a steady increase. In the stated case, the price could even attempt a move toward the $0.80 level or $0.82.

The woman said that it all started when a customer placed an online order for three sandwiches but one sandwich wasnt made the right way because her store was out of a particular ingredient.

She said her co-worker was new on the job and their online ordering system doesnt allow them to give refunds, so things took a turn for the worse.

Well, this sure sounds unusual

But thats the beauty of Reddits Am I the A**hole page!

You never know what youre gonna get!

So lets take a look at this guys story so we can see if he was totally out of line with his behavior.

AITA for wanting my girlfriend and my brother to take turns on the bed while theyre staying with me?

Basically my little brother [19M] is going to be staying with me [25M] and my girlfriend [24F] for a little while.

We have one bed thats pretty big and comfy and a s**tty pull-out in the living room that no one wants to sleep in.

I said to be fair she and him should take turns on the pull-out every other night, and the other one can sleep in the bed with me.

My girlfriend doesnt like this idea and says since she actually lives here she shouldnt have to sleep on the pull-out when my brother is just a guest, but since its my house I think its perfectly fair of me to decide on the sleeping arrangements.

Hmmmmnow check out what Reddit users had to say about this story.

In todays currently distorted political atmosphere our Founding Fathers have been characterized as anything from rum runners to marijuana smokers, from slave owners to assassins of British office holders so that they were domestic terrorists as was taught by federal orientation of new federal employees under the Obama Administration. Just part of the disinformation campaign conducted by the left who, as Yuri Bezmenov, former KGB defector pointed out is part of the demoralization of a society under Soviet asymmetric warfare.  When a society disinherits its own past and culture it is rife for takeover.

Image result for 4th of July celebration

Many people in the midst of their hot dogs, burgers, and beer on the 4th of July, dont even realize that the 2nd Continental Congress drafted the Declaration of Independence more than a year after the battles that took place at Lexington and Concord the previous April. So, the 13 Colonies had been at war with the King George government for more than a year prior to the founding document of the new nation. Each man who signed the Declaration of Independence knew that he would be found guilty of treason by the British government and hanged if caught.

Image result for King George reading the Declaration of Independence

When King George received the Declaration of Independence sealed with a wax seal his legal staff quickly examined the document and were impressed as it was completely legal. The 13 Colonies were not as uneducated as the kings court thought. It appeared that all was in order. Little do people know today the sacrifices suffered by many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. At least 5 of those members of the 2nd Continental Congress lost their entire estates burned down by British soldiers and confiscated by the Royal Crown. Every one of them lost family members to the fighting or who would be captured and executed. In a war that saw 2 million British infantry on American shores with only 2.2 hundred thousand Continental Army in opposition, odds were not in favor of the colonists though initially they did win several important victories.

Where do you keep your ketchup? Some keep it in their kitchen cupboards, and some place it in their fridge. But what's the right answer? For such a common condiment, the cupboard vs. fridge debate has many raising their voices and defending their choice of placement. Now, Heinz, the top-selling ketchup brand in the U.S., has finally settled the debate.

On June 27, 2023, Heinz UK tweeted, FYI: Ketchup. goes. in. the. fridge!!! Actually, the answer has been on the product information found on the bottle all along. The Heinz ketchup label reads: For best results, refrigerate after opening. Shake well before first use.

A day later, the company launched a poll about ketchup-keeping, and most people already aligned with their vision. 63.2% of users answered that they keep their ketchup in the fridge, while 36.8% stuck to their old ways and expressed that it lives in their cupboards.

Understandably, users raised some questions. So why is it on the shelves in supermarkets & shops then? a user named Dave asked the company. To that, Heinz UK replied, Where do you keep your soft drinks, Dave? They also replied to some customers with a cheeky image of a box of Heinz sitting in a supermarket fridge, ri...

Saint Germain: Implants Being Removed "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

What are implants?

Old time implants and unconscious programs installed in your being are now being deactivated, neutralized and removed. The event happens in the middle of your life, so you dont notice it at first. GOD intervenes imperceptibly in the lives of people who have given their consent to this on a soul level. The time for this healing, for this blessing and for this grace has truly come. Traditional implants still affect how people think and feel. Implants are invisible ethereal grids that create specific vibration patterns and separate people from the light-filled cosmic vibration. These were installed in the human being eons ago to allow incarnated angels on earth to have this type of experience.

Permitted interference, unauthorized assault!

This interference with your DNA is due to extraterrestrial powers and their technology. In this way you did not have access to the intrinsic divine self-consciousness. For thousands of years you were little more than a plaything for those who knew how to wield your power. This intervention was originally foreseen and also allowed. This intervention only became an encroachment when the dark entities decided to continue this manipulation far beyond the permitted time and this state of affairs is now being cleaned up, lifted and ended. Is it possible to find your way to freedom from a deeply manipulative world? This was the challenge you set yourself. Thus, these implants were taken from life to life as a cellular heritage and activated upon entry into a new life. Stressed in this way, it was difficult to see through things or to escape the Matrix throughout ones life. Over the millennia this was reserved for only a few initiates, masters and adepts. It takes the nature of a CHRIST, KRISHNAS, or BUDDHAS to penetrate the thicket of delusion and find the true self in this all-encompassing illusion. Today this situation has changed fundamentally. Today the time has irrevocably come when this cosm...

How a brilliant woman rose against the tide of her time to fathom the mysteries of space.

Look Up: The Illustrated Story of Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, Who Laid the Groundwork for Measuring the Universe

Long before they could vote, the women known as the Harvard Computers shaped our understanding of the universe with their prolific and precise astronomical calculations. Among them was Henrietta Swan Leavitt (July 4, 1868December 12, 1921), who singlehandedly measured and catalogued more than 2,000 variable stars stars that pulsate like lighthouse beacons. Along the way, she discerned a correlation between their brightness and their blinking pattern that soon allowed astronomers to measure the distance of stars for the first time, furnishing the yardstick of the cosmos. Her insight made it possible to determine the size of the Milky Way and the age of the universe. It was foundational to Edwin Hubbles groundbreaking discovery of the existence of other galaxies and the expansion of the universe.

This Is What AI Thinks People Look Like Based on Their Job "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

This Is What AI Thinks People Look Like Based on Their Job

Here's What AI Thinks Average Professionals Look Like

According to AI, most professionals look like models or actors. Or, at least, that's what it seems like in the new series of Midjourney-generated images by BuzzFeed writer Angelica Martinez. She asked the AI image generator what an average person looks like based on a variety of careers, from astronauts and doctors to influencers and baristas.

Unsurprisingly, AI has a very polished vision of what an average professional looks like. Everyone appears to be their best selves, fit and trim without a hair out of place. At first glance, AI appears to have gotten things right. The firefighters have their gear on, the dentists are flashing their beautiful smiles, and the news anchors give smoldering glances at the camera.

But, when you really dive in, it seems like the technology made some odd choices that spark questions about what source material humans used to train it. For instance, the astronauts are quite intense. And in particular, the female astronaut looks like something has spooked her. The actors appear dressed for a period piece set in the 1930s, while the authors look like fairly generic hipsters except for the glasses that give a vague air of literary greatness. The morticians are also quite interesting, seeming like a pair from the late 19th century rather than someone who provides funeral services today.

The overall feel is quite youthful. Only in some of the science-based professions, as well as teaching, do we find older employees. In fact, the female teacher is the only woman in the selection who looks as though she's over 50. Apparently, in AI's eyes, once you reach middle age, there's little space left in your career.

Of course, we all know by now that AI plays on stereotypes. These types of series only serve to reinforce that and to remind us to take the AI visuals we see with a grain of salt. Keep scrolling down for all 36 images and see how well you think the technology managed to capture the spirit of each job.

The Flower of Tujia Weaves History and Culture Through 150,000 Meters of Red Brocade Thread "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An installation made from thousands of meters of red brocade thread inside of a museum.

All images YI+MU, shared with permission

Intricate geometric patterns and rich hues distinguish the  woven textiles of Chinas Tujia people, who call the Wuling Mountains home in western Hunan. In the nearby city of Zhangjiajie, the new China Tujia Brocade Museum will be dedicated to the art of Xilan Kapu, or Tujia brocade, to celebrate the cultures distinctive creativity and preserve an endangered craft. In a remarkable architectonic installation called The Flower of Tujia, 150,000 meters of red brocade thread creates an awe-inspiring centerpiece for the main space.

Designed by Yi Chen and Muchen Zhang of Beijing-based design studio YI+MU, the artwork spans more than 1,000 square meters along a grid of 20 beams, allowing the fiber to alternately reveal and conceal the geometry of stairwells and windows as one moves around. The diamond-shape structure inspired by the iconic pattern of the Tujia brocade is clearly visible from all angles, the studio says. Symbolically interpreting the 30-step process of Xilan Kapu into a three-dimensional piece, the design unifies and highlights the museums interior and sparks a sense of wonder that verges on the spiritual, a key aspect of YI+MUs philosophy.

The museum building was completed in 2022 and an opening date is yet to be announced. Find more of YI+MUs projects on the studios website. (via...

Whether you are a fan of Harry Potter or not, youve likely heard of Hogwarts. Though its often the backdrop to the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends, thee wizarding school is almost like a character itself. The castle and its grounds are home to enigmatic creatures and deadly secrets, many of them crucial to the development of the series. Paying tribute to the most charming location of the Wizarding World, LEGO has announced a 2,660-piece Harry Potter set called Hogwarts Castle and Grounds.

This is not the first LEGO set dedicated to Hogwartsand that doesn't include the amazing fan-made models done throughout the years. It is, however, the first to feature the grounds of the castle and the Black Lake. If you're familiar with the Harry Potter saga, you know that the surrounding areas of the castle are just as compelling and full of life as Hogwarts itself.

Once assembled, the new Hogwarts Castle and Grounds LEGO set stands at over 8.5 inches high, 13.5 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. Rather than taking up an entire table, its compact size makes it the perfect accessory for your bookshelf. It's almost as if it was designed to be proudly positioned alongside your hardcover Harry Potter collection.

The most noticeable architectural aspects of the castle are present, such as the Astronomy Tower, the Great Hall, the greenhouses, and that wooden bridge that inspires many reflective conversations. Yet one of the most exciting elements of the Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set is that it also features some of the castle's iconic sites as little ro...

Hidden feature of the Moon has been unearthed by scientists and its very, very big, and very, very heavy. "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Picture
Buried beneath its South Pole-Aitken basin one of the largest preserved craters in the Solar System  is a structure which weighs at least 2.18 billion kilogrammes and measures more than 300km (186 miles) in depth and 2,000km (1,243 miles) in length.

The researchers who made the discovery, all based in the US, posited that the anomaly could be made out of metal from the core of an asteroid or oxides from the crystallisation of a magma ocean.
"One of the explanations of this extra mass is that the metal from the asteroid that formed this crater is still embedded in the Moon's mantle, lead author Peter B. James, from Houstons Baylor University, said in a statement shared with IFLScience.
Illustrating just how gigantic this thing is, he went on: "Imagine taking a pile of metal five times larger than the Big Island of Hawaii and burying it underground. That's roughly how much unexpected mass we detected.

The Hole "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Photograph by Nicolaia Rips.

When he walked into my bedroom for the first time, he pointed at the top right corner of the room. What is that?

The answer was a hole. Directly above my closet and several inches below the start of my ceiling is an obvious nooka deep-set crawl space suspended inside my wall. If that werent fun enoughfun said through gritted teeth, like how the realtor said Now, this is fun when he showed me the nooktheres another feature: a bolted door within the nook. A dusty, intrusive, and creaky wooden door that points up to the sky. Between the bolts that secure the door is a sliver of light, slim enough that you cant see whats on the other side.

My building is an old Boerum Hill brownstone with a criminal exterior renovation. Inside my bedroom, though, the floors slant and the ceiling droops. Its a beautiful princess bedroom, if the princess never got saved and lived forever unmedicated in her virginal bedroom. Its a room of illusions, and the nook is its most illusive element. The nook is the last thing I see every night before I go to sleep. Goodnight Moon, good night dollhouse room, good night nook.

He was the first person I dated after a catastrophic college relationship. He was sweet. He reminded me of a portrait of a medieval saint or a beautiful lesbian. He asked questions.

What are your dreams for the future? Dont know. What did you want to be when you were small? Taller. Where does the door in the nook go? Not sure. Have you ever opened it? Never. Never? Never ever. From my bed he would stare at it, and the more I tried to ignore it, the more he pushed. What if theres something amazing up there? And what if there isnt. Here we are in my bed, I thought, no point in fantasy.

He believed doors were made to be opened. I believed, firmly, that some doors should not be. Locked basement doors, closed bedroom doors,...

Bitcoin Bulls Dominate, But Expert Warns Of Potential $20,000 Retest "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin has risen by almost 80% in the first six months of 2023. However, as has been the case in the past, the cryptocurrency has experienced periods of stagnation before making any significant moves.

This has resulted in a consolidation phase that has left investors waiting in anticipation for the next direction. And if attempts to breach upper resistance lines fail, it could jeopardize most of the gains made in the last few months of 2023.

Will Bitcoin Plummet To The Depths?

Crypto analyst under the pseudonym Captain Faibik on Twitter, has recently made some bold predictions about Bitcoins future.

Despite the current bullish sentiment in the market and the possibility of reaching a new yearly high for 2023, Captain Faibik warns that bulls are not out of the woods yet.

Faibik believes that Bitcoin may retest the $20,000 region in the upcoming months of August and September. However, Faibik also believes that the Bitcoin bull run will officially start in November 2023.

On the other hand, the recent confirmation of a 2-week buy signal, a successful retest from the breakout, and the Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) crossing above the 0 level for Bitcoin have caught the attention of traders and investors alike.  These indicators have only occurred in 2015, 2019, and 2020, leading many to believe that a significant price movement is imminent.

Trader Moustache highlights that while history doesnt repeat itself exactly, it often rhymes. This means that while past events can provide insights into potential market movements, there are no guarantees in the volatile cryptocurrency market.

However, the fact that these same technical indicators have been observed in the past and have been followed by significant price movements is a cause for excitement among Bitcoin investors.

With the Launch of Mad in Denmark, a Global Network for Radical Change Grows Stronger "IndyWatch Feed Health"

When we started Mad in America more than a decade ago, we never envisioned that our webzine would one day bloom into a global network of Mad sites. Mad in Denmark, which is newly launched, is the 11th affiliate in that network, and three others are expected to launch later this year.

Personally, I have been waiting for a Mad in Denmark for a number of years. Olga Runciman is a long-time board member of Mad in America, and so it makes for a particularly happy moment that she and her Danish colleagues have launched this site.

I can no longer remember when I first met Olga, but we have been fellow travelers now for at least a decade, spending time together at conferences held in countries that now have a Mad site. I mention this because our friendship is emblematic of the spirit that unites the growing network of global Mad sitesthere is a commonality of purpose and a shared joy at pursuing radical change together.

From Redlining to the Court: How Systemic Racism Shaped Basketball Culture in NYC "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Picture this. Walking down 135th street in Harlem, you spot a park in the distance. As you walk closer, you hear a basketball bouncing and kids yelling. Its a small, outdoor court, well-maintained with fresh paint and a sturdy chain-link fence surrounding it. The ball is constantly in motion, being passed, dribbled, and shot from all angles. As the game progresses, the excitement draws in more kids around the court.

New York City is synonymous with basketball. From Harlem to Brooklyn, basketball has been a part of the citys culture for decades. But why has basketball become such a staple of African American culture in cities? The answer is complex, but the roots of its popularity among minority groups stem from discriminatory practices like redlining and segregation.

A White Mans Sport

Basketball was originally invented as a white mans game

Micheal Novack, The Joy of Sports (1946)

Basketball was founded in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian physical education instructor seeking a way to keep his students active. By the early 1900s, it was being played in colleges and high schools across the nation. Colleges like Harvard, Yale, Cornell and Princeton began to play games against each other as early as 1901. The first professional basketball league, the National Basketball League (NBL), was founded in 1937. It was later merged with the Basketball Association of America (BAA) to form the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1949.

The 1950 Minneapolis Lakers basketball team, Wikimedia Commons

For the first 30 years, the majority of participants at the collegiate and professional level were white, as black participants were barred from playing. The first black collegiate player, George Gregory Jr, did not appear until 1928. In the 1949-1950 season Chuck Cooper, Na...

These devices can track sleep stages and specific aspects of a sleepers physiology and brain activity, offering a more ecologically valid way to observe sleep oscillations of people sleeping in their own beds. Researchers hope these devices will help increase the number of patients with autism in sleep studies and potentially lead to new interventions to improve sleep and ease other spectrum-linked traits.

Whether interacting with architecture or crafting their own sets, photography duo Daniel Rueda and Anna Devs (previously) find endless inspiration in the built environment. Grounded in their training as architects, the Valencia-based pair conceive of visual puns and whimsical ways to augment existing structures and spaces by adding new design elements and donning garments that blend in with the scenery.

Happytecture, a new book published by Counterprint, celebrates the last several years of their joy-filled practice of transforming ordinary locations into eye-catching, witty works of art. Saturated hues and exquisitely produced props characterize Devs and Ruedas compositions, the result of scouting unique locations and finding imaginative ways to incorporate new shapes, palettes, and clothing. By precisely matching patterns or embellishing with bows, they add new meaning to existing designs and challenge us to see our surroundings differently.

An Early Autism Diagnosis Does Not Necessarily Mean a Better Quality of Life "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Research Finds the Number of Autistic Traits Is the Strongest Predictor of Better Life Outcomes

British researchers recently set out to examine whether learning about an individuals autism diagnosis earlier in childhood predicts a better quality of life and well-being in adulthood. Unlike previous research, their study did not find evidence for this relationship, suggesting that the age one receives an autism diagnosis is not a robust, independent predictor of adult life outcomes. Instead, the authors discovered that having more autistic traits was the strongest predictor of all quality of life and well-being outcomes. At the same time, they discovered that other variables, such as sex and additional mental health conditions, emerged as unique predictors of several outcomes. This new research highlights the need for more concrete, objective terminology to measure the different components of the process of coming to know about ones autism diagnosis in future research. It also advocates for a heightened focus on how a diagnosis is disclosed and the social-emotional support the individual receives during and following the recognition process. Additionally, the authors revealed several other factors that were significant predictors of quality of life and well-being, including being male, having additional mental health conditions, and having more autistic traits. It is important to point out that this study makes clear that getting a timely diagnosis remains critical for individuals with autism and their families to access appropriate support.

Litecoin $100 Milestone Indicates Promising Bullish Trends Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Litecoin (LTC) has been on a remarkable run in the past three days, emerging as one of the most impressive performers among cryptocurrencies this week. But whats causing this sudden surge in its price?

The answer lies in the anticipation of a major event thats just around the corner: the impending halving of Litecoin, set to take place on August 2. Similar to Bitcoin, Litecoin undergoes halvings after a specific number of blocks are mined, roughly every four years.

As the halving approaches, investors and enthusiasts are left wondering: will Litecoins price continue to soar, or is there more to this story than meets the eye?

Litecoin Price Rally And Resistance Breakthrough

LTC has demonstrated a strong performance in recent days, currently trading at $112.35 according to CoinGecko. Over the past 24 hours, LTC experienced a notable rally of 5.1%, and within a seven-day timeframe, it surged by an astonishing 29.0%.

Over the weekend, LTC managed to surpass the crucial $100 mark, and since then, it has sustained trading above this key level of resistance. This resilience indicates bullish tendencies and raises the possibility of a significant breakthrough, with the potential for the $100 resistance to transform into support.

Such a development could pave the way for a sustained bull run, potentially propelling the token to reach $130 in the near future.

Social Activity Volume And Halving Event Hype

The surge in LTCs price has coincided with heightened social activity volume, as observed by the blockchain analytics firm Santiment.

This suggests a correlation between price spikes and increased interest and engagement surrounding the crypto.

The anticipation of Litecoins upcoming halving event has generated a surge in demand for the asset, driving its price upward.

Only 41% of Teens with Autism Have an IEP Goal Related to Post-High School Housing "IndyWatch Feed Health"

92% had a Transition Plan in their IEP by Age 16, Less than Half Included Adult Living Arrangments

A new longitudinal population-based surveillance study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that while the vast majority of teens with autism (92%) have transition plans in their individualized education programs (IEPs), these plans often neglect to include goals related to post-high school living arrangements. The authors came to this finding by reviewing health and education records for 322 teens, ages 1516 years,  with autism. They discovered that only 41% had a goal related to post-high school living arrangements. The researchers noted that although these goals are not required components of transition planning, they are essential as only a minority of young adults with autism live independently without support. The study used data collected through the CDCs Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network from 2002 to 2018 in 3 catchment areas throughout the country. The authors determined that working with education partners, families, and the adolescents themselves is essential to identify what challenges contribute to these findings and what supports are needed to improve the transition planning process for individuals with autism to have an appropriate living arrangement placement prepared for adulthood.

You are Here to Live, Not Just Survive "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

This is What Life Was Meant to Be

If a secret voice in your head is whispering that life was meant to be far better than the one you were offered, please trust it because its right.

You were not meant to hate Mondays, to live for the weekend or to dream of your next vacation.

Yet you might think that there is something wrong with you, for it often appears that nearly everyone else is doing just fine.

Well, heres the truth:

Most people in this culture deep down feel that their life lacks joy and meaning; they just dont want to admit it, to others and especially to themselves. For admitting it means facing a harsh truth and the emotional turmoil that is bound to arise from that hence, they prefer to ignore their pain and pretend that everythings alright.

So, trust me, there is nothing wrong with you; whats wrong is the life you are forced to fit into that is, an unnatural life.

A life where youve been given an ever-growing burden to carry and are told to not complain about it.

A life where you are coerced to fight against your own feelings and desires.

A life that is not yours, but was designed and is controlled by others.

In a few words, a life of suffering and misery.

But you are not here to live like this. You are here to live free like a bird and brave like a lion. You are here to love, play, create and discover. You are here to contribute something magnificent to the world.

You are here to live, not just survive.

So, when you hear that secret voice again, please trust it because this is what life was truly meant to be: a celebration, not a drudgery.

How to Handle Criticism "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

How to handle criticism

This is a transcript of a spontaneous talk.

How to best deal with criticism?

I have found that one of the most important things that you can do is to differentiate criticism into constructive criticism and destructive criticism.

Now, constructive criticism is criticism offered by people who genuinely care about your work or whatever you are doing, there are people who want to see you improve. They are there to elevate you, and to actually have a discussion with this sort of criticism is very good to engage. It is very important to pay attention to it.

The problem is that often we think that we know everything. We think that we are the best. We have such an inflated ego that we dont pay attention to the criticism that is directed toward us, and hence we dont improve, or we dont improve as quickly as we could if we did pay attention to that criticism.

So you need to let go of the idea that youre right or that you know everything and pay attention to that criticism and ask yourself:

What can I learn from it?

I do that quite often. When I publish something, lets say an article or a video, and I receive a lot of criticism and some of it is so good. Im like, yes, that person pointed out something that I could not see, and then I could correct my article, or I could write a better article next time it helped opened my eyes to some facts or truth that was invisible to me before that.

But then I have noticed that some of the criticism that I receive is very destructive is from people who dont really want to help me, who dont want to contribute to our community, who instead want to put me down.

They call me names. The fight against things that I never said. If you receive this kind of criticism as well. The best thing you can do is to not pay attention to it, but first you have to identify it and this is something that I learned early on in my writing journey.

When I started writing back in 2012, I wrote an article on the negative effects of religion and I was focused on the Judeo-Christian tradition and this article for some reason reached a lot of people and I got so many emails, perhaps hundreds and about half of them contained what I call dest...

Queensland Opens Needle-Free Vaccine Skin Patch Manufacturing Factory "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Laura Harris at Natural News.

Australia has opened a supposedly state-of-the-art facility for manufacturing vaccine skin patches.

The facility, to be set up in the suburb of Hamilton in Brisbane, Queensland, supposedly seeks to simplify the complex process and the exceptional costs associated with traditional vaccine delivery methods. The Australian government further said that this new manufacturing facility will better position the country to tackle future disease outbreaks more effectively.

Spanning an expansive 5,500 square meters (60,000 square feet), the facility will function as both a global headquarters and a biomedical center. The state government of Queensland is providing generous subsidies for biotech company Vaxxas to operate the facility.

Vaxxas plans to manufacture and distribute its first commercially available vaccine patches from the facility within the next three to five years. The company and the Queensland government claim that these patches will enhance accessibility to vaccines, particularly in areas within Australia that do not have as readily-available access to trained medical professionals and proper storage facilities for vaccines.

This world-renowned technology has the potential to play a vital role in pandemic preparedness because it allows vaccines to be deployed quickly and easily to our communities, said left-wing Queensland Deputy Premier Stevel Miles at the facilitys inauguration.

The potential of this world-renowned technology to play a crucial role in pandemic preparedness cannot be overstated. The ease and speed with which vaccines can be deployed to our communities using these patches are remarkable, Miles added.

Australia claiming microneedle vaccines more convenient than traditional vaccines

The vaccine patches being developed by Vaxxas are part of an emerging technology known as microneedle vaccines. This technology offers the convenience of self-administration, enabling vaccine manufacturers to deposit their vaccinations through the surface of the skin in mere seconds. Moreover, the patches can remain stable at room temperature, eliminating the need for cold chain storage.

How to Deal with Toxic People "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

How to Deal with Toxic People

How can one best deal with toxic people?

Sometimes, there are people in our lives who are quite toxic. People who are very nasty, hateful, abusive, manipulative, controlling. People who make our lives harder, who disrespect us, who dont care about us and want us to suffer, or who dont even realize how toxic their behavior is.

So, how can one deal with such people?

Im going to share with you a few tips that will possibly make your life easier if youre dealing with toxic people.

The first one is to try to understand those people. Why do they behave this way?

A lot of times, because we dont understand this people, we try to deal with them by fighting against them. And what that does is it adds fuel to the fire, because it makes our relationship even more complicated. They control us, and then we try to control them, they try to make us feel worse, and then we try to make them feel worse too. How can healing take place in such an environment? Its impossible.

And the other thing is that often abusive people who want to get our attention, because this way they can find another opportunity to attack us. And so they want us to engage in conflict. Theyre like parasites who live on this negative energy. So by trying to fight them, we give them what they want, and we let them thrive.

If we study those people, we will see that actually, they are not evil people that most of us think. We try to fight against them, because we think that they are bad. But if you study their psychology, you will understand that in almost all cases, there are people who are deeply hurt, as the saying goes, hurt people hurt people.

So once we understand them, we start seeing them with empathy. And once we realize that, there is no point in fighting anyway, we stopped fighting. So what can we do instead?

And this brings us to the second point that I want to make, which is, try to communicate to them as best as you can. What is the problem that youre having with them? What is their situation exactly? What makes you feel hurt? What do they do that complicates or burdens or worsens your life?

Whatever that is, bring it up to them. Say, you know what, this happened, you said this, you did this, and I dont enjoy this kind of relationship that...

Dont Trust Elon Musk "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

Elon Musk Wont Save Us

Many people think that Elon Musk will save us, as if he is Jesus or something. Not by using supernatural powers, of course, but by harnessing the powers of technology.

He is what can be described as a techno-utopian. And the technological solutions he proposes are every techno-utopians dream.

But the truth is, those solutions arent solutions at all. For they dont address the root causes of the biggest problems humanity is faced with today. In fact, they distract us from them and the real solutions.

For example, one of Elon Musks solutions is electric cars. Cars that are made by the working class and sold to the upper and upper-middle class. Cars that require tremendous resource extraction and cause tremendous environmental pollution. Yet which are sold as the better alternative to fossil fuel-powered cars, in effect exploiting the ecological crisis for profit.

How about making structural changes to our cities and transportation systems so that people have to rely less on automobiles?

No, that wont help we need more electric cars!

Another of Elon Musks solutions and his most ambitious one so far is space rockets. Rockets that will supposedly help humanity to colonize Mars before Earth becomes uninhabitable.

In other words, he is investing billions of dollars in fleeing Earth, instead of healing it. Again, damaging Earth to build, power and maintain those rockets. And techno-utopians think that this is the solution we need!

But wouldnt all those billions of dollars be better spent on, lets say, designing, implementing and promoting alternative educational, agricultural or economic systems with the goal of improving our social and environmental conditions?

As you can understand, Elon Musks solutions arent solving the worlds problems. On the contrary, theyre adding to them. And I believe he deep down knows that, but his narcissism doesnt let him admit it.

You see, more than caring about the world, he cares about his self-image. He cares about portraying himself as the bad boy, the rebel, the one who deviates from the norm. Thats why hes one of the most famous trolls on the Internet alive. And for that hes worshipped by his fellow techno-utopians.

But lets not forget, he is also the worlds richest man. And you cant become the richest man in the world...

Depression is a Symptom of Our Social Sickness "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

depressed woman

Our society thinks that theres something wrong with depressed people. And it tries to fix them, mainly by using chemical drugs called antidepressants.

Why?

So they can fit into society and function as normal people.

But what if society itself is sick, and depression is a symptom of our social sickness?

Then its not the individuals that needs fixing, but society itself and by that I mean the social systems and institutions in place, which, due to the way they are designed, inevitably create the conditions that produce depression on a mass scale.

For example, one of the strongest predictors of depression is poverty. Thats because of several reasons, one of them being that people born in poverty are way more likely to experience emotional abuse as children, which significantly increases the risk of them developing depression.

Other important causes of depression include engaging in meaningless work and feeling disconnected from other people, both of which, along with poverty, are outcomes of our debt-based economic system, which places us in a condition of artificial scarcity that results in forced labor, competition and economic inequality.

Picture society as a tree, and people as its leaves: If the tree is sick, then naturally its going to produce sick leaves. Now, we might think that theres something wrong with the leaves, and try to fix them one by one without addressing the tree, but our efforts will be in vain, for the leaves are inseparable from the tree. And even if we could somehow fix a leaf here and there, the tree will still keep on producing new, sick leaves. Hence, we will be fighting an endless battle, while allowing the trees sickness to continue.

So, when it comes to depression, lets stop blaming the leaves, and focus on healing the tree.

Empowering Your Child: 15 Crucial Conversations for Boosting Self-Esteem "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Becoming a parent is an enriching and exhilarating journey, filled with innumerable rewards. Its an occupation thats challenging, but every bit of effort invested in it offers a multitude of returns. Children possess an unconditional affection for their parents; however, there are specific phrases they yearn to hear, which often go unsaid.

Childhood and adolescence are critical phases of life when individuals develop their sense of self-esteem. Recent statistics reveal some alarming trends, underscoring the urgent need for proactive measures.

According to a study by Dove, 52% of girls globally feel societal pressures significantly impact their self-esteem. A Common Sense Media report indicates that by the age of 13, approximately 80% of girls have had concerns about their body image.

Boys are not immune either; the Journal of Adolescent Health found that nearly 18% of boys are highly concerned about their weight and physique. These concerns can result in reduced self-esteem and increased susceptibility to mental health disorders.

In terms of mental health, the numbers are startling. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, approximately 1 in 6 U.S. youth (ages 6-17) experience a mental health disorder each year. The World Health Organization reports that half of all mental health conditions start by 14 years of age, but most cases are undetected and untreated.

A Story About Heaven and Hell "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

Heaven and Hell - The Parable of the Long Spoons

Once, a curious man asked God about the nature of Heaven and Hell. In response, God led him to two doors that revealed starkly different worlds.

Upon opening the first door, the man saw a pitiful sight. A large pot of savory vegetable stew sat at the center of a table, surrounded by thin and sickly people. Although they held spoons, the utensils were too long for them to bring food to their own mouths. The aroma of the stew made the mans mouth water, but the pitiable sight of their suffering left him trembling.

This is Hell, God proclaimed.

However, when the man opened the second door, he was surprised to find the same pot of stew, the same long-handled spoons, and a similarly sized group of people. Unlike the first group, these individuals were well-fed, plump, and laughing with one another. The man was puzzled, and he turned to God for an explanation.

With a smile, God simply said, Love is the only skill required. These people understood early on that by sharing and caring for one another, they could all enjoy the meal. Those who are selfish and greedy will always be left wanting.

***

Heaven and hell are not places that we go to, but states of being that we manifest through the choices we make.

The people in Hell were as close to the same pot of delicious stew as those in Heaven, but their refusal to work together and care for each other resulted in their suffering. On the other hand, those in Heaven understood the importance of sharing and love, and their willingness to help one another led to their joy and well-being.

So, always remember: Genuine happiness and fulfillment come not from selfishness and greed but from compassion and generosity toward others.

The story is based on a text often attributed to Rabbi Haim of Romshishok.

Better Money For Better Journeys: How Bitcoin Has Improved The Way I Travel "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by HodlingCarla, an avid traveler and Bitcoin advocate.

Few things get me as excited as visiting a new corner of the world, and my passport can attest to that. I've visited 45 countries, lived in nine and covered all continents except Antarctica.

After years of globetrotting, I thought that part of my life would have been over by now. But just when I began to feel the desire to settle down and set roots, something happened: I discovered Bitcoin. My life, then, was radically changed. Not only has it transformed my worldview, but it's also reignited a fire in me to keep moving and seek out people who have gone through the same awakening.

Combining my passions for adventure and hard money, I've recently begun to focus on visiting emerging Bitcoin circular economies across the globe. From helping me save time and money to making me feel more protected and connected with the people I meet along the way, using Bitcoin has been a game changer for my travel experiences.

In this piece, I discuss how Bitcoin has helped me fix common money issues known to travelers everywhere and how it's made my journeys more special in multiple ways.

Bitcoin Helps Travelers Save Time

If I had a sat for every time I've had to deal with payment-related issues in a foreign country, I'd have a big enough stack to make Michael Saylor jealous. Whether it was finding a currency exchange with decent rates, looking for a store that accepted my cards or calling my bank to resolve credit card issues, I've wasted so much precious time on these problems that just thinking about them frustrates me.

In a few scenarios, it's even resulted in the disruption of my itinerary and a significant dose of anxiety, as when it happened during a trip to a remote island in the Philippines in 2015. Though I had a great time, it wasn't long before I found myself running out of cash, with no ATMs and no currency exchange offices in the area. Ultimately, I was saved by the only Western Union office in town when it finally opened two days after my crisis began.

Had the locals and I known about Bitcoin then, my journey would have gone as planned, and my stress levels would have remained stable the entire time.

Fast forward eight years, and I returned to the Philippines, but this time, my experience with money matters was much better. Why? Because I chose the island of Boracay, also known as Bitcoin Island, as my destination.

If youve made mistakes that you still dwell on, remember to be gentle with yourself, for you didnt know better at the time. And instead of regretting your mistakes, see them as learning opportunities.

Mistakes arent all bad. Although they can cause a lot of pain to ourselves and to others they serve a very important purpose:

To helps us learn, develop our understanding and grow as human beings.

The past is gone, so dont try to change it. Instead, use it as a stepping stone to find greater joy in the present. For, as long as youre alive, theres always a new opportunity to turn your life and that of others into a more positive direction.

Ill end this article with one of my favorite poems written by Rumi, which kindly reminds us to accept and forgive ourselves:

Come, come, whoever you are.
wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
It doesnt matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come,
even if you have broken your vows a thousand times,
Come, yet again, come, come.

Our Economy is Killing the Planet "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY SOFO ARCHON

How Our Economy is Killing the Planet

Consider this:

If people stopped buying as much stuff as they currently do, fewer sales would be made, which means that fewer jobs would be needed, and hence that more unemployment would be created.

Now, assuming that consumption slowed down significantly and for long enough, the economy would shrink dramatically and eventually collapse, resulting in hunger, violence, and disease.

Therefore, our economic system is based on consumption.

But heres the problem:

The more we consume, the more resources we use up. And since we live on a planet with finite resources, our economic system has us extract resources way faster than Earth can replenish them, causing deforestation, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and a multitude of other environmental issues.

In other words, our economic system is inherently unsustainable.

So, what can we do about it?

Well, we can either change it from its very foundations and start living in alignment with our life-supporting planet, or keep it as it is and destroy the world as well as ourselves along with it.

The choice is ours.

This next level attempt to ask someone on a date deserved so much better "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Its not easy asking someone on a date, as any one who has tried and failed to pluck up the courage will surely testify (so all of us, then).

So due respect to whoever came up with this, a next level attempt to take someone to the movies that deserved so much better.

Very possibly youve seen it before but it makes us smile (and despair) every time.

He apparently likes em thick.

Its an excerpt from Multiplication & Fractions: Math Games for Tough Topics, available as an ebook at my bookstore (Thank you for cutting out the middleman!) and in ebook or paperback through many online retailers. Read more about my playful math books here.

Many parents remember struggling to learn math. We hope to provide a better experience for our children.

And one of the best ways for children to enjoy learning is through hands-on play.

This game offers upper-elementary and middle school students plenty of practice doing estimation and mental math with fractions.

Domino Fraction War

Math Concepts: proper fractions, comparing fractions.

Players: two or more.

Equipment: one set of double-six or double-nine dominoes.

How to Play

Remove the double-blank tile. Turn all remaining domino tiles face down on the table and mix them around to make the wood pile.

Each player turns one tile face up and makes a proper fraction (smaller number on top) with the numbers on the two halves of the tile. The player who has the greatest fraction takes the other players tiles prisoner, placing...</p>

Basically the gym store owner wasnt having any of it, and his heavyweight takedown of the pranksters bothering his shop was A++.

Good for the store owner for calling him out. The day influencers stop having any clout will be the best day ever.

Annoying people for views from their preteen followers is a complete waste of regular peoples time. Maybe one day hell realize how pathetic he looked doing these.

Federal District Court in Texas vacated the ATFs recent Regulation on What constitutes a Frame and Receiver in a scathing rebuke of recent ATF Rule making Basically, in his 38 page ruling the Judge stated that if the Frame or Receiver in question is ,not capable of operating in a completed Firearm, at the time of inspection, it cant be classed as a FireArm, PERIOD. Shiba Inu Lead Dev Teases Shibarium Launch, How High Can SHIB Rise? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Excitement is building within the Shiba Inu community as the highly anticipated launch of Shibarium, the layer-2 scaling solution, draws near. Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous project lead developer, recently addressed the upcoming launch, emphasizing the importance of sticking to the planned strategy and timeline. Kusamas confident statements have further fueled anticipation among enthusiasts.

Shibarium Is On The Verge Of Release

When asked about potential changes to the launch date or plan of Shibarium, Kusama responded resolutely, stating, It doesnt matter; everything is already set. I cant change the date or plan. Its called a launch strategy. This unwavering commitment to the established timeline demonstrates the Sharium developers teams dedication to ensuring a successful launch for Shibarium.

Shibarium launch Shiba Inu

In another intriguing conversation within a Telegram group chat, someone identified as Mark suggested that Shibarium would launch at ETHToronto which takes place from August 15-16, 2023, in Toronto Canada. Surprisingly, the Shiba Inu lead developer playfully agreed, stating, Mark his words. This playful interaction has fueled speculation that Mark is actually right with his speculation.

It is noteworthy that Kusama recently dropped another hint in which he said that it is no longer a question of when but where. The SHIB lead developer released a video showing the Shiba Inu logo and a major (North American) city. The message of the video was, Something is coming. We are actually going somewhere. Apparently the developers of Shiba Inu are planning a big event, and as the rumors have it, for the Shibarium launch.

While the exact launch date remains undisclosed, another Shiba Inu enthusiast brought up a previous statement from Kusama in which he hinted at a two to four-month timeframe for the launch after the beta testing start. Notably, July 11 marks the four-month milestone since the beta release.

And theres even more recent hint from...

The Lion of Chaeronea "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Tetradrachm minted 364-363 BCE by the city of Amphipolis, at the mouth of the River Strymon in Thrace. On the obverse, the head of Apollo, wearing a laurel crown; on the reverse, a race torch surrounded by a square bearing the inscription AM-IO-IT-EN (=of the people of Amphipolis).

Formerly an Athenian colony, Amphipolis was lost to Athens during the Peloponnesian War as a result of the Spartan general Brasidas brilliant northern campaign; an attempt by the noted demagogue Cleon to recover it ended in his defeat and death (though Brasidas was killed as well). Thereafter the polis remained independent, enjoying great strategic importance for a number of reasons: the nearby forests supplied vital timber for shipbuilding; local silver mines offered vast wealth to whoever controlled them; and the city was in a prime location to facilitateor interfere withgrain shipments to Athens from the Black Sea region. However, only a few years after this coin was minted, the expansionist Philip II of Macedon conquered Amphipolis and consolidated his hold over Thrace. Amphipolis would remain an important Macedonian stronghold until the kingdoms defeat by Rome in 168 BCE.

What Do Women Dislike About Their Bodies That You Love? Heres What Men Had to Say. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

RedditWomenBodies What Do Women Dislike About Their Bodies That You Love? Heres What Men Had to Say.

Ladies, let me tell you something: youre beautiful, all of you.

No matter your size, what color your skin is, or any other physical characteristic you might possess, you are BEAUTIFUL.

And these male AskReddit users talked about things they love that women dont like about their own bodies.

Check out what they had to say.

Big cheeks.

My ex girlfriend always complained about the size of her cheeks and how she looked like Quico (a character from an old Mexican TV series).

For me she looked gorgeous, i loved to kiss and caress her cute round face.

You bet!

Everything that has to do with getting older.

When my wife and I got married, we were obviously younger and in our 20s. Although never thin, I was more slender. My wife, 59 and legs for days and just banging body.

Now? Im not as thin (same as her) we have two kids, and I find her s**ier now more than ever. In our almost decade together, we have slept on a floor, used change for gas and had our electricity turned off 3-4 times for non payment. Shes my Ride or D**.

She has more of a tummy now, bigger boobs, maybe doesnt shave like she used to or wear skimpy lingerie outfits randomly. BUT. I wouldnt trade it for the world. We have grown older together and I honestly couldnt find anything in this world that still turns me on as the certain way my wife runs her fingers down my back or...
