Pasolini on Caravaggios Artificial Light "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Caravaggio, Self-portrait as the Sick Bacchus. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Pasolinis pen was preternatural in its output. Collected by the publishing house Mondadori in their prestigious Meridiani series, his complete works in the original Italian (excluding private documents such as diaries, and his immense, largely unpublished, epistolary exchanges in various languages) fill ten densely printed volumes. The twenty thousand or so pages of this gargantuan oeuvre suggest that, in the course of his short adult life, Pasolini must have written thousands of words every day, without fail.

Allusions to paintingand to the visual arts more broadlyappear across the full range of Pasolinis writings, from journalistic essays to poetry and work for theater and film. The intended destination of the textual fragment below, which remained unpublished during Pasolinis lifetime, remains uncertain. We know, however, that it was most likely penned in 1974. The characterological novelty of Caravaggios subjects, to which Pasolini alludes in passing, underscores some of the parallels between the two artists bodies of work: an eye for the unlikely sacredness of the coarse and squalid; a penchant for boorishness to the point of blasphemy; an attraction to louts and scoundrels of a certain typethe rough trade, of homosexual parlance. It is striking, for instance, that some of the nonprofessional actors that Pasolini found in the outskirts of Rome and placed in front of his camera bear an uncanny resemblance to the new kinds of people that Caravaggio placed in front of his studios easel, to quote from the essay presented here. Take Ettore Garofolo, who for a moment in Mamma Roma looks like a...

Ethereum Classic (ETC) Resumes Uptrend, Notches 13% In The Last Day "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum Classic (ETC) is currently experiencing a rise in its market price, gaining 13.99% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap

Following the ETCs dip in the last two days, it appears the bulls have retaken control of the market, pushing the coin to trade above the $20 mark for the first time since April.

ETCs Price Action In June

Ethereum Classic has found a place among the headlines in the last two weeks following its initial bearish form at the start of June.  ETC began the month trading around $18.01 before experiencing a nosedive which saw the token trade as low as $13.99 on June 10.

Thereafter, ETC would rise to $15.03 and hover around this price region for the next few days before embarking on a bullish run that to gain by 28.60% between June 20 and June 24, hitting the price resistance level at $19.33.

The following days would then present a mixed price action before ETC finally retraced to its key support level at $17.64 on June 29. After retesting at this price zone, ETCs price has resumed its uptrend, climbing higher since then.

Ethereum Classic (ETC) remains one of the major projects in the cryptocurrency space. Launched in July 2016, Ethereum Classic is a hard fork of Ethereum created to preserve the purpose and integrity of the original Ethereum network.

At the time of writing, ETC is exchanging hands at  $20.90, with a 1.51% gain in the last hour. The tokens 24-hour trading volume is currently valued at $482 million, having also gone up by 208.92%.

ETC Price Analysis And Prediction

Looking at the ETCs hourly chart, its Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains well above the signal line indicating the tokens bullish run may still be on.

However, its Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently in the overbought zone at 89.71, meaning a selling pressure may soon occur, which may drive down the tokens price.

Henry Cavill Gave Tremendous James Bond Audition According to Casino Royale Director

Henry Cavill

Over the last decade and a half, moviegoers have grown accustomed to seeing Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond. Now, it turns out that that casting choice could have gone in a much different direction. According to Martin Campbell, director of Casino Royale (2006), Henry Cavillknown for his star-making turn as Superman in the DC Extended Universegave a tremendous audition that could have landed him the role.

Speaking to Express UK, Campbell reminisced about the secret auditions held for a new 007 some 18 years ago, after Pierce Brosnan ended his run as the famed MI6 agent. Cavill was only 22 years old at the time, which may have played against him when performing the seasoned Bond. Despite his age, he made quite an impression.

He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous, said Campbell. And look, if Daniel [Craig] didnt exist Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape very handsome, very chiseled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.

Though he didn't get the role way back when, his name is definitely on the list of actors that  audiences can envision as Bond. According to Express UK, the betting odds have him at 7-2, slightly behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is at 7-4.

When asked about Cavill finally getting to play Bond this time around, Campbell said, Henrys 40, so by the time hes done the third one hes go...

Sabre56 Partners With Arkon Energy For Ohio Data Center Consultancy Deal "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Sabre56, a leading hosting provider and Bitcoin and digital asset mining consultancy, has signed a consultancy deal with Arkon Energy for the management of Arkon's recently acquired data center in Hannibal, Ohio. Sabre56 will oversee logistics, equipment sourcing and procurement, design planning and overall cost management of the data center.

Phil Harvey, CEO of Sabre56, expressed pride in the deepening strategic partnership with Arkon Energy, stating, "It is an honor to collaborate on the company's first U.S data center." He also mentioned the sustained demand for their delivery services and their continued consultation with other market leaders constructing their facilities.

Arkon Energy's CEO, Joshua Payne, shared his enthusiasm for securing their first data center in the United States and expressed confidence in their consulting partner, Sabre56. Payne stated, "Hannibal, Ohio, will only be the first of several acquisitions as Arkon Energy is building out its U.S. footprint."

This collaboration builds upon the two companies successful history of project cooperation, including Sabre56's involvement in procuring a Norwegian facility later purchased by Arkon Energy.

The deal comes at a time of growing optimism in the crypto environment, with asset managers like BlackRock aggressively seeking market share. In May, Sabre56's newly constructed facility in Wyoming attracted GEM Mining, which reserved space for 4,510 miners, highlighting the company's reputation for cutting-edge hosting sites.

Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Being Inconsiderate to Her Mother-In-Law "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Woman Asks if Shes Wrong for Being Inconsiderate to Her Mother In Law

Ive heard some serious horror stories from people about the clashes they get into with their in-laws and it does not sound pleasant.

At all.

And a young woman took to Reddits Am I the A**hole? page to see if folks out there think shes out of line for how she dealt with her mother-in-law.

Check out her story below and see what you think.

AITA for being inconsiderate towards my MIL?

I (26F) am getting married in a few months in a small ceremony to my fiance(28M).

Recently a video went viral where the brides mom has cancer, so to support her, the bride and groom shave their heads to show their love and support.

The thing is my fiances mom has cancer and fiance, FSIL(20F) and FBIL(19M) all want to shave their heads at the wedding to show their support.

Now, I think this is sweet as my MIL is a very kind person and I have no problem if they do so (fiance included).

But, they want to do it ONLY on the wedding day plus I HAVE to do it to.

This is where the conflict lies. My hair grows very slowly and has taken so long to grow till beyond my shoulders and I take extremely good care of it by using special herbal oil that can only be found in my hometown(I live overseas).

And I want my wedding day to celebrate the union of 2 souls and 2 families not to make it about my MIL.

I dont mind ANY OTHER DAY. Now all of them are saying that I am being in...

Report: SEC Demand Clarity And Comprehensive Information For Spot Bitcoin ETF Filings "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has raised concerns over the recent surge of applications for spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), stating that the filings are lacking clarity and comprehensive information, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

A variety of firms have submitted the applications such as BlackRock and Fidelity Investments.

Following BlackRock's lead, a wave of traditional and crypto asset managers, including Fidelity Investments, Ark Investment Management, Invesco, WisdomTree, Bitwise Asset Management, and Valkyrie, have reactivated or amended their applications for spot bitcoin ETFs in recent days. The approval of such an ETF would mark a significant milestone for the industry, providing broader institutional access to bitcoin and allowing investors to trade bitcoin as easily as stocks, albeit at the loss of some of bitcoins properties.

Experts predicted BlackRock's application would address the SEC's concerns through an agreement to share surveillance of a spot bitcoin-trading platform with Nasdaq, the proposed ETF's listing exchange.

Nevertheless, the SEC informed the exchanges that the filings lacked key details, such as the precise surveillance-sharing agreement that would be implemented. A spokesperson for Cboe told the Wall Street Journal that they plan to update and refile the application.

The SEC's critique has once again highlighted the regulatory challenges surrounding the launch of spot bitcoin ETFs. Market participants await updates from the asset managers and exchanges to address the concerns raised by the SEC. As the industry eagerly anticipates the potential approval of a spot bitcoin ETF, stakeholders hope that the revised filings will provide the clarity and comprehensive information necessary to gain regulatory acceptance.

Binance Survey Says 88% Of Institutional Users Have a Positive Outlook For Crypto Assets "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p>Institutional investors are paying more attention to cryptocurrencies and digital assets. According to a recent survey report by Binance Research and Binance VIP & Institutional, 88% of institutional users have a long-term, optimistic outlook on crypto for the next decade.

The crypto market is known for its high volatility, but the majority of big-money players see crypto as an important part of their portfolio for years to come.

Institutional Interest In Crypto Assets Is Growing

The Institutional Crypto Outlook Survey, which surveyed 208 Binance VIP and Institutional users from 31st March to 15th May 2023, found out that a growing number of institutional crypto investors are in it for the long haul. According to the survey, 63.5% of these users had a positive outlook on digital assets over the next 12 months, while 88% are more positive over the next decade.

Of the respondents, 50% expect to increase their crypto asset exposure over the next five years. Only 4.3% said they plan to decrease exposure. That signals a lot of confidence and optimism about the future growth and mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin remains Most Popular Crypto Asset Among Institutions

Bitcoin remains the most popular choice among institutional investors, with a larger proportion of respondents more positive about Bitcoin as compared to the broader crypto sector. This is not surprising given that Bitcoin is the largest crypto by market cap and the most established. Bitcoin is seen as the digital gold of the crypto world and a store of value and hedge against inflation.</p> <p><img alt="Bitcoin price chart from TradingView.com (Crypto)" class="aligncenter" height="1724" src= "https://www.tradingview.com/x/r9xkCXXs/" width="2884"></p> <p>42.8% of investors are more interested in the potential for large investment returns. However, 37.5% are more motivated by the long-term exposure to the technology behind digital assets, with 48.1% and 43.8% of respondents investing in Layer 1 and Layer 2 technologies respectively.</p> Institutional Trade Still Mostly Done On Centralized Exchanges <p>Centralized exchanges remain the most popular platform for institutional trading. While many crypto investors advocate for decentralized exchanges on the rise, centralized exchanges like Binance offer a one-stop shop for institutional traders to easily buy, sell and convert a wide range of cryptocurrencies. The survey found that 90.5% of institutional investors would rather trade on centralized exchanges.</p> <p>While some institutional investors remain skeptical about cryptocurrency, its clear that mainstream interest in this asset class is building steadily. If institutional adoption continues to rise, its likely to drive broader mainstream acceptance of c...&...

Litecoin Up 18% In Past 24 Hours, Is Halving Rally Here? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Litecoin has observed a sharp increase of around 18% during the past day as the much-anticipated halving is just over a month away now.

Litecoin Outperforms Market With A Strong 18% Surge

Like most of the wider cryptocurrency market, LTC had enjoyed a sharp rally a week or so back, which had taken its price above the $90 mark. Unlike coins like Bitcoin, however, the asset had failed to maintain at these post-surge levels, as it slid off during the days that followed, until eventually bottoming out at the low $80 level.

In the past day, however, tides seem to have rapidly shifted for Litecoin, as the asset is now trading above $101 after registering a sharp growth of 18% during the last 24 hours. The below chart shows how the cryptocurrency has performed recently.

Litecoin Price Chart

As you can see in the graph, Litecoin was around the $81 level only a couple of days back. This latest turnaround for the asset has meant that it has now surpassed the high registered around the start of the month.

In terms of daily returns, LTC has outperformed almost all the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap; Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is the only exception with its whopping 26% gains in the same period.

As analyst Tony The Bull pointed out on Twitter, Litecoin formed a golden cross just before this surge, as its 50-day moving average (MA) has crossed over its 200-day MA.

Interestingly, only a few days ago, the same MAs had also formed a cross of the opposite type: the death cross. The bullish cross canceling this bearish one out merely days later is a pattern similar to the one seen back in 2020, which preceded the bull run.

LTC Only Has 34 Days To Go For The Next Halving

Litecoin also has a strong bullish narrative coming up in the form...

Ethereum Continues Uptrend As Staked ETH Soars To New High "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Ethereum network is currently witnessing a surge in interest following the recent Shanghai upgrade, which has expanded the options for holders of Ethereum (ETH). This has resulted in an uptick in the number of people staking their ETH in beacon deposit contracts, an indication of the growing confidence in the Ethereum blockchain since the upgrade.

Since the Shanghai upgrade, the quantity of staked ETH has been increasing at a swift pace. This growth recently hit a peak, breaking previous records and suggesting that Ethereums transition to proof-of-stake (PoS) has been received positively by the market.

New Era For Ethereum

The amount of Ethereum staked has now hit an all-time high (ATH), surpassing 25.8 million ETH, equivalent to a value of over $48 billion, according to the latest data shared by blockchain and crypto industry analytics platform, CryptoRank.

Ethereum (ETH) deposit contract value hits ATH.

This development has caused quite a stir in the crypto community and provides insight into the evolving dynamics of the Ethereum blockchain. Just a month earlier, in late May, the Ethereum deposit contract balance had crossed the $40 billion mark.

This upward movement underscores the effectiveness of the new features introduced during Ethereums transition from the proof-of-work (PoW) to the PoS consensus mechanism after the Merge upgrade.

Furthermore, the impact of the Shanghai upgrade on the Ethereum ecosystem has been profound. The surge in the Ethereum sta...

Linking Bitcoin To The Fentanyl Trade, Elizabeth Warren Demonstrates Concerning Bias Against Innovation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Lee Bratcher, the president of the Texas Blockchain Council, and Mark Shut, the director of administrative affairs at the Texas Blockchain Council.

Senator Elizabeth Warren has expressed concerns regarding the use of cryptocurrencies in illicit activities, specifically in relation to the fentanyl and opioid crisis in the United States. In a recent hearing at the Senate Banking Committee, she cited a report from blockchain analytics firm Elliptic, indicating that digital currencies, particularly bitcoin, are being used to fund the fentanyl trade in China. But this is a clear obfuscation of the facts and a willful disregard for concepts in logic.

Let's put this into perspective: Any technology can be used for good or ill but we do have a responsibility to address and mitigate any potential misuse. The proportion of illicit transactions in digital assets is actually quite small compared to the overall transaction volumes.

According to Chainalysis, illicit transactions made up only 0.15% of all cryptocurrency transactions in 2021, down from 0.62% in 2020. In comparison, according to the UN, it is estimated that annual money laundering amounts to 2% to 5% of global GDP. Furthermore, the Chainalysis report argues that the transparency of blockchain technology allows for better analysis and tracking of illicit activity compared to traditional financial systems.

So, while we should certainly aim to reduce the amount of illicit activity being fueled by cryptocurrencies, it's crucial to remember that illicit activities are not unique to cryptocurrencies. Consider this quote written in a report by former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell:

The broad generalizations about the use of Bitcoin in illicit finance are significantly overstated. The blockchain ledger on which Bitcoin transactions are recorded is an underutilized forensic tool that can be used more widely by law enforcement and the intelligence community to identify and disrupt illicit activities. Put simply, blockchain analysis is a highly effective crime fighting and intelligence gathering tool.

We respect Senator Warrens office and her commitment to public safety, but we must also speak truth to power, especially when powerful elected officials manipulate statistics for a political agenda. The suggestion that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are...

Whales Dive Into XRP, Accumulating $170 Million Worth: Whats Their Game Plan? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The recent downturn in the XRP market has not deterred large-scale investors, often referred to as whales. Amid a 12% drop in XRPs price between June 22 and June 28, they instead saw an opportunity rather than a setback, amassing 360 million XRP worth approximately $170 million. This significant investment demonstrates the high-stake moves that define the crypto markets.

While such large-scale purchases are not unusual in the volatile world of cryptocurrencies, this particular accumulation of XRP seems to suggest a confident long-term outlook on the asset by these whales, despite the current bearish trend.

XRP Whale Movements Amid Market Fluctuations

On June 22, XRPs price hit a weekly high of $0.52. But this peak didnt last long. The subsequent reversal led to a drop, triggering increased profit-taking as many felt the asset was overvalued.

Consequently, XRP has been on a downward slope, breaking key support levels, and presently trades below the earlier $0.5 mark. This puts the assets decline at around 4.3% for the past week.

However, the picture is not all gloom and doom. The market capitalization of XRP sits at $24.8 billion, making it the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. This ranking comes even amid the notable downward pressure.

Despite the past weeks bearish trend, the last 24 hours have shown some signs of recovery for XRP. The token has experienced a slight uptick, gaining 2.1% in price. This positive movem...

Arbitrum Gains Tempered By Obstacles, Hindering ARBs Further Upswing "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Arbitrum (ARB)s gains have been tempered by various challenges, hindering its further upswing. The declining inflows of stablecoins on the Arbitrum network have raised concerns among investors and enthusiasts alike, as it signals potential obstacles for the growth and development of the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector.

As a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, Arbitrum initially garnered significant attention and saw impressive gains, but recent hurdles have dampened the optimism surrounding its future prospects.

While the decline in stablecoin inflows is a cause for worry, there are potential avenues for growth that could help revive Arbitrums momentum.

Resilient Growth Amidst Volatility: ARB Performance

Despite facing market volatility, both the Arbitrum protocol and its native token, ARB, have demonstrated remarkable growth. CoinGecko reports ARBs current price at $1.14, showcasing a 0.9% rally over the past 24 hours and an encouraging seven-day gain of 3.3%.

However, a recent ARB report highlights a notable decline in stablecoin inflows on the Arbitrum platform, raising concerns about its potential impact on the protocols growth trajectory.

The decrease in stablecoin inflows may also impact the protocols overall liquidity. Less stablecoins entering circulation may reduce liquidity in the market.

Such a decline could also indicate a waning demand for stablecoin-based activities within the protocol, potentially aff...

How Do You Like Them Apples? Can Suns Playful Sculptures Emerge from Bright Red Fruit "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An intricately carved apple.

All images Can Sun, shared with permission

If anyone ever told Can Sun not to play with his food, its a good thing he didnt listen. The London-based Chinese artist meticulously carves red apples into geometric cross-sections and linking chains, sometimes adding accoutrements like brass hinges. Delicate slices are puzzled together to form circles or the skin carefully removed to reveal interlocking, rope-like shapes, as if the apple is caught in a net.

I had a really tough childhood. For a long period, humour has been a way to protect my self-esteem, Sun tells Colossal, sharing that he chose to focus on apples because the unexpected arises from the ordinary. My work tries to break the audiences logical expectations, which makes the audience wonder if the world is absurd. The more everyday the object, the greater shock when the audience sees its different forms.

Sun enjoys playfully reinterpreting all sorts of everyday objects into uncanny artworks, like a wearable temporary sculpture made from dandelions that mimics brass knuckles. His work will be included in group exhibitions in Beijing and Shanghai this July and August, and you can follow updates on Instagram. (via...

Bitcoin Price Stalls Below $31,000, Is The Best Time To Buy Next Monday? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Bitcoin and crypto market eagerly observed the expiry of the quarterly BTC and ETH options today (at 8:00 am UTC / 4:00 am EST). It was the second largest in history with a volume of 159,000 BTC options and 1.25 million ETH options with a total value of almost $7 billion.

The market was expecting a sharp increase in volatility, but it failed to materialize. In the run-up, the BTC price briefly spiked as high as $31,300 before seeing a pullback towards $30,700. The event has thus pretty much become a nothing burger.

Options analysts at Greeks.Live confirmed a few minutes ago that the quarterly expiration has been completed, with more BTC block calls being traded in the last few days, mainly to close and roll positions at the end of the quarter, with ETH being mainly in the order book, adding:

With the quarterly expiry, the market has seen a release of positions that have built up in recent months, and options could see a larger shift if the market supports it in July.

Although volatility levels have risen this month and market makers are happy to actively buy positions, the downward trend in major term IV is very much in evidence amidst the strong selling pressure from quarterly delivery.

Whats Next For Bitcoin?

Todays daily close could become extremely important for the Bitcoin price. Today is month-end, quarter-end and the Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) price index, the US Federal Reserves preferred inflation gauge, will be released at 8:30 am EST (12:30 pm CET). On Tuesday, the U.S. market is closed for the Fourth of July, Independence Day.

The Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) price index is preferred by the Fed because it provides broader coverage of consumer spending, includes chain weighting to accurately track behavioral changes, accounts for the substitution effect, and uses comprehensive data sources. The PCE is therefore considered a more flexible and representative indicator of inflation compared to other indexes such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

While headline CPI data have looked extremely good in recent months, core inflation has been shown to be very sticky. A lot of focus today will therefore be on core PCE. The expectation for PCE inflation is 3.9% and for core PCE 4.7% year-over-year. A surprise to the downside has the potential to provide a bullish boost to both the traditional financial market as well as the Bitcoin and crypto markets.

When first we start learning a new foreign language, any number of its elements rise up to frustrate us, even to dissuade us from going any further: the mountain of vocabulary to be acquired, the grammar in which to orient ourselves, the details of pronunciation to get our mouths around. In the video above, he not only presents us with a few of the rarest sounds or phonemes, to use the linguistic term in any language, he also shows us how to make them ourselves.

Several African languages use the phoneme gb, as seen twice in the name of the Ivorian dance Gbgb. You might be tempted to go all French on it, Rudder says, but in fact, you should bring your tongue up to the soft palate to make the g sound, and at the same time close and release your lips to add the b sound.

Never Skip A Korea Pump? Bitcoin Cash Soars 168% in 10 Days "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Bitcoin Cash (BCH) price has gone through the roof in recent days. Within the last ten days, the Bitcoin fork has risen by a staggering 168%, temporarily BCH was already up over 200% today. While Bitcoin Cash was still trading at $104 on June 20 and was stuck in a deep bull market that looked bad even compared to other altcoins, a miracle occurred 10 days ago. The price exploded out of nowhere.

Why Is Bitcoin Cash Experiencing A Revival?

As NewsBTC reported, the reasons for the phenomenal rise in BCHs price have already been discussed hotly over the past few days. It was often heard that the listing on the new crypto exchange EDX Markets, which is backed by industry giants Citadel Securities, Charles Schwab Corp. and Fidelity Digital Assets, favored BCH.

Furthermore, it has been argued that the price increase is also due to Bitcoin Cashs recent game-changing upgrade. In mid-May, Bitcoin Cash underwent a hard fork that not only improved the networks security and privacy measures, but also introduced plans for CashTokens.

However, the real reasons for the current Bitcoin Cash pump seem to lie elsewhere: namely in South Korea. Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu reports today that South Korea could be the reason for the BCH pump, looking at where much of the trading volume originates.

In the last 24 hours, the largest exchange in South Korea, Upbit, recorded over $350 million in trading volume for BCH/KRW, accounting for 23.58% of the total trading volume for BCH. Moreover, it is also three times the trading volume of BTC/KRW on Upbit an anomaly that has extreme rarity.

Renowned crypto whale and trader Andrew Kang agrees, stating that the current BCH rally reminds him of the multi-week Aptos (APT) battle between Korean retailers and professional traders.

Never Skip A Korea Pump?

Koreans didnt need a reason to bid, all that mattered is that it kept going up and early bears got slaughtered, Kang said. The trader is alluding to APTs 500% rally earlier this year.

South Koreans pumped Aptos because of a joke about housing affordability. APTs trading volume on the South Korean crypto exchange UpBit was often higher than the total trading volume on Binance at the time. It was also beneficial that the Aptos Foundation marketed the altcoin to Koreans from day one.

According to Alex Shin, co-founder of crypto venture capital firm Hashed, South Korean crypto investors...

So did this mom act like an a**hole?

Read her story below and see what you think.

AITA for throwing my sons Switch in the trash?

My daughter Mae is 13 and has been having the worst mood swings with her periods. Shes also had really bad cramping and other issues. She got snippy with my son Mic 9 over being loud while playing fortnite.

Mic decided that his revenge was to throw away my daughters feminine hygiene products all of the thrash. She went to switch out her pad and Mic threw everything away. I had to make an emergency run to get more pads for my daughter whos already feeling sh**ty. I hear Mic playing fortnite on his switch and laughing with his friends about what he did.

I grabbed his switch and threw that in the trash. He starts crying and my husband is like really and took it out of the garbage and told my son hes grounded from the switch until we decide to give it back. My husband locked it up in a safe in our bedroom and swears he wont give it back but throwing it away was over the top.

I dont think Mic should get it back and it should be given away to someone else and my husband thinks Im overreacting but what our son did was cruel and he should be punished for it and a loss of his switch is punishment.

AITA?

The P3 Freemasons -who control the Black Sun organization, the Vatican and large parts of the Pentagon- are calling for the worlds military forces to take action because all the politicians are corrupted by the financial system. Woke Hollywood Sinks Into Irrelevance After Multiple Box Office Failures "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Woke Disney Loses $900 Million In Recent Box Office Flops.

The formula for box office success these days seems rather simple Produce a solid story with relatable and likeable characters and tell that story in a setting that makes sense with as few distractions and tangents as possible. In other words, make a normal movie without the intent to manipulate your audience with propaganda. Most movies that follow this basic formula will rake in the cash. Any movie that insists on browbeating the audience will bomb; get woke, go broke. The problem is that Hollywood elitists just cant help themselves. They think theyre smarter than the audience and smarter than the box office, and they would rather lose their entire business and fade into obscurity than admit the truth: The market dictates the success or failure of popular media, the media does not dictate the market. To be fair, the media culture we live in today is far different from what it was even 10 years ago.  The entertainment industry is no longer interested in keeping the public happy or distracted, theyre only interested in platforms. They see every movie and every popular franchise as a vehicle to deliver their gospel, the gospel of woke. They likely believe if they saturate the market long enough and thoroughly enough with their messaging that one day the public will just give up and accept woke as the new normal. This isnt happening. Theres been a flurry of film flops in the past year which have made it obvious that Hollywood is imploding instead of gaining influence. Disney is probably the best place to start as a window into woke failure because the company strategically targets children with far-left concepts from feminism to gay and trans ideology.  The company was on a downward spiral well before it tried to go to war with the state of Florida, declaring that it would do everything in its power to overturn anti-child grooming laws.  But that little incident didnt help,...

Hey o!

This is gonna be a whole lot of fun!

Because AskReddit users were nice enough to share break up lines instead of pick up lines.

Are you ready to get your laugh on?

Lets get it started!

Weighing me down.

Hey, are you an anchor?

Because youve done nothing but weigh me down.

I like this one!

You remind me of Halleys Comet.

I dont wanna see you again for another 74 years.

Dumped!

Hey babe, I think its about time we cancel our gym membership.

Were not working out anymore.

Youre trash!

I knew this girl in middle school who would break up with boys by saying: roses are red, violets are blue, trash is dumped and so are you.

Hahaha.

They say one mans trash is another mans treasure.

I hope you find someone who treasures you.

This is good.

Hey girl, are you a newspaper?

Youd think in this day and age that employers would be extremely careful about how they handle situations where employees get injured on the job, but this story illustrates the fact that some places still have a long way to go.

A man who works at a thrift store shared a video where he talked about the hurdles he had to navigate to get his company to take notice of an injury he suffered while working.

It all started when the man was punctured by a needle at the thrift store where he works.

Skip to recipe below or continue to read about the meaning behind pine cones and rose petals:

Pine cone metaphysical meaning

Throughout the span of recorded human history, Pinecones have served as a symbolic representation of Human Enlightenment, the Third Eye and the Pineal Gland.

Conifer Pine Trees are one of the most ancient plant genera on the planet, having existed nearly three times longer than all flowering plant species. The Pinecone is the evolutionary precursor to the flower, and its spines spiral in a perfect Fibonacci sequence in either direction, much like the Sacred Geometry of a rose or a sunflower.

Our Pineal Gland, shaped like (and named after) the Pinecone, is at the geometric center of our brain and is intimately linked to our bodys perception of light. The Pineal modulates our wake-sleep patterns and circadian rhythms, remains uniquely isolated from the blood-brain barrier system, and receives a higher percentage of blood flow than any other area of the body save the kidneys.

It is considered by many to be our biological Third Eye, the Seat of the Soul, the Epicenter of Enlightenment and its sacred symbol throughout history, in cultures around the world, has been the Pinecone.

In addition to spiritual consciousness and enlightenment, pinecones have also historically been used as symbols of everlasting or eternal life.

Rose petals metaphysical meaning:

Rose is the most sacred plant and the flower of love. It has an energy that is healing and will balance and align all chakras. It can activate the heart chakra for healing and awakening a greater sense of love. Rose can increase your telepathy, and help you attune to the angelic vibrations. It can help open one to exploration of the mystery of time, life and death and all that is unknown....

But the death of affirmative action was not achieved merely through the machinations of Republican lawyers. LA Artists Floating Painting Studio Removed by Local Officials "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

LOS ANGELES  An artists floating studio, conceived as part of a project to bring attention to LAs contaminated waterways, was damaged as it was being dragged out of the water by local officials. LA County Public Works removed artist Sterling Wellss makeshift studio-raft from Ballona Creek after news reports and online posts described the piece as a possible unhoused encampment.

Wells typically creates his plein-air watercolors of polluted waters as close to the source as possible, sometimes while partially submerged, standing in barrels buried in shallow water and working from an easel. He embraces the moments when water hits the paper, washing away paint and leaving an accumulation of mud.

In preparation for his solo exhibition opening July 8 at Night Gallery, Wells built a studio raft to float atop LAs Ballona Creek, a contaminated waterway that feeds into the Pacific Ocean. Anchored in a fixed position, the raft would a...

Swine: Demi Lovatos Pro-Abortion Video That Manages to Be Equally Dumb and Evil "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

On the first anniversary of the overturning of Roe vs Wade, Demi Lovato released a surprise music video titled Swine. And, after watching that video a couple of times, I have to admit: It worked. I am now pro-abortion. Because I think that the people involved in that video should have been aborted.

Bad jokes aside, watching this video and listening to its lyrics is a sad and unsettling experience. Its one of these things I believe will be studied in the future as an example of cultural weapons used to destroy a civilization from within. It is actually quite astonishing.

My opinion about this video doesnt even originate from my personal stance on abortion. I believe it is a complex issue that should be debated rationally. Should abortions be outright banned? I honestly dont know. Allowing each State to decide using its democratic processes is probably the best way to go. And thats exactly what the overturning of Roe vs Wade accomplished.

With that being said, I am 100% adamant on a couple of points: Every single abortion is a sad and unfortunate event. Also, absolutely no abortion is empowering nor is it a cause for celebration. And dont get me started on late-term abortions where born-alive babies are literally left to die.

Clearly, Demi Lovato doesnt agree with any of this.

I created SWINE to amplify the voices of those who advocate for choice and bodily autonomy. I want this song to empower not only the birthing people of this country, but everyone who stands up for equality, to embrace their agency and fight for a world where every persons right to make decisions about their own body is honored.
 Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) via Twitter

Yes, youve read correctly. Lovato used the words birthing people to refer to women. She literally used a term that is used by extremists to erase women from the public space in a post about equality and empowerment. The hypocrisy on display in these sentences is astonishing. However, coming from Lovato, none of this is surprising.

Is He Wrong for Calling His Wife a Bully? Heres What People Said.

Hey, sometimes people need to be called out, you know what Im saying?

Even if it happens to be your own wife

And that has put this guy in quite a pickle

But did he act like an a**hole?

Read his story below and see if you think he was out of line.

AITA for calling my wife a bully, knowing it would trigger her?

I (M36) work as a bus driver.

Ive been doing the same route for about five years and Ive gotten to know my regulars pretty well to the point where Id consider most of us friends. I enjoy my job and conversation and socializing comes easily to me. My wife (F36) works in an office and drives so shes never really met any of my regular passengers.

So Ive been married for about five years now and weve got two little kids (M4 and F1) and every few weeks we do The Big Shop where we go to the big Asda (Walmart for you Americans!)

Everything was fine and we were getting through the list with the kids sat in the trolley when I hear my wife make a noise of disgust and I look up to follow her gaze and see one of my regulars, getting her own shopping done, lets call her L (F27).

L is a goth. Very monochrome color scheme, always in black velvet and lace, black lipstick, powdered white face, some visible tats, the works. But shes a lovely girl, very sweet, works as a sign-language interpreter at a local secondary school, involved with Age Concern in her spare time and working towards a PHD.

Philadelphia Museum Accused of Reneging on Union Contract "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) Union, which achieved a hard-won contract last fall after a 19-day strike, is alleging that the museum has reneged on a mutually agreed-upon compensation provision. According to the union, PMA CEO Sasha Suda and General Counsel Al Suh communicated in a union leadership meeting yesterday, June 29, that the museum would not honor the specified terms of a longevity pay increase that will impact employees across departments.

As one of five major museum compromises outlined in the contract, the longevity pay increases schedule was originally meant to reward both full- and part-time employees with incremental salary bumps of $500 and $250, respectively, for every five years of employment at the institution (for up to 20 years). Under this structure, a full-time employee (working more than 25 hours per week) would have an additional $1,000 added to their annual base rate for their 10-year employment anniversary, and a part-time employee (fewer than 25 hours per week) would receive an additional $500 for their 10-year employment anniversary. If an employee has been working at the museum for over 20 years, they would receive retroactive longevity increases.

Now, the PMA has allegedly indicated that effective July 1, the longevity clause would only be applicable to employees whose employm...

The artist and author is an avid tourist and dedicated observer, and he saturates the blank pages of his Moleskines with watercolor and ink drawings of airplanes, film characters, and maps. Like most of us, Naranja was unable to travel during much of the last few years, although hes resumed his adventures and frequented Thailand and other parts of Asia, which are reflected in his latest spreads.

Fidelity Refiles For Spot Bitcoin ETF, Joining Peer Institutions "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In a recent flurry of events indicating growing institutional interest in Bitcoin, Fidelity Investments has refiled its application for a spot Bitcoin ETF. This move comes after several other major players in the financial industry have also made similar filings, cementing Bitcoin's position as a sought-after asset among traditional investors.

The momentum began with BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset management firms, filing for a spot bitcoin ETF application. Although they were not the first ARK Investments and 21Shares had already filed for a spot ETF they initiated the cascading effect now seen. Investment firms Bitwise and Invesco both refiled for their own spot ETFs, which they had submitted previously.

Shortly thereafter, WisdomTree, an investment management company renowned for its innovative exchange-traded products, filed its own application for a spot Bitcoin ETF. Adding to the now-growing list of firms seeking to launch spot Bitcoin ETFs, Valkyrie Investments joined the race.

Meanwhile, ARK, a prominent investment management firm, amended its 19b-4 filing for a spot Bitcoin ETF, solidifying its position in the race for approval. With the inclusion of a surveillance sharing agreement between CBOE and a crypto exchange (likely Coinbase), ARK's filing aligns with BlackRock's strategy and places them at the forefront to potentially be approved first, given their early filing.

However, amidst this competition, Fidelity Investments has reentered the fray by reapplying for a spot Bitcoin ETF. Fidelity, a trusted name in the financial industry, brings its significant expertise and reputation to the bitcoin market, further solidifying the notion that Bitcoin is gaining acceptance among institutional investors.

Jaymes Seyffart, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg, took to Twitter to share his guesses at when the filings may be addressed, noting that the dates for when the filings will be approved or denied are not exact.

Reason and Emotion: Scottish Philosopher John Macmurray on the Key to Wholeness and the Fundaments of a Fulfilling Life "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The emotional life is not simply a part or an aspect of human life. It is not, as we so often think, subordinate, or subsidiary to the mind. It is the core and essence of human life. The intellect arises out of it, is rooted in it, draws its nourishment and sustenance from it.

Reason and Emotion: Scottish Philosopher John Macmurray on the Key to Wholeness and the Fundaments of a Fulfilling Life

We feel our way through life, then rationalize our actions, as if emotion were a shameful scar on the countenance of reason. And yet the more we learn about how the mind constructs the world, the more we see that our experience of reality is a function of our emotionally directed attention and has something of the structure of love. Philosopher Martha Nussbaum recognized this in her superb inquiry into the intelligence of emotion, observing that emotions are not just the fuel that powers the psychological mechanism of a reasoning creature, they are parts, highly complex and messy parts, of this creatures reasoning itself.

A century before Nussbaum, the far-seeing Scottish philosopher John Macmurray (February 16, 1891June 21, 1976) took up these questions in a series of BBC broadcasts and other lectures, gathered in his 1935 collection Reason and Emotion (public library).

This Is What AI Thinks People From Each of the 50 U.S. States Look Like

What an Average Person Looks Like from Every U.S. State According to Midjourney

People have been having a lot of fun with AI, particularly with image generators like Midjourney. Using the technology, we've seen everything from Renaissance-inspired streetwear to fantasy campers. For many, it's fascinating to see what AI considers beautiful or perfect. Recently, a writer at BuzzFeed, Sara Thompson, decided to see what would happen when she asked Midjourney what a typical person from each American state looked like.

Each of the 50 AI-generated images shows an adult man and woman intended to personify a specific state. In some cases, the looks are unmistakable. There's a stereotypical blond California girl, and the duo from Hawaii is sporting traditional dress. The older couple from Florida looks like they're ready for a day on the golf course, while the Alaskans are bundled up for a cold winter.

Many of the other states show subtle differences that might be harder to associate with a specific region. The couples from Illinois and Massachusetts, for instance, are fairly bland and without distinguishing features that would quickly associate them with their states.

Scroll down to see all 50 AI renderings of these average Americans. Do you think that the technology captured the spirit of your state?

See what AI thinks an average person in every U.S. state looks like.

74-Year-Old Vera Wang Shares How She Still Looks So Young: I Avoid the Sun

Vera Wang Shares Aging Secrets

Photo: zhukovsky/Depositphotos

Hollywood and the fashion industry are both known for emphasizing youth. However, over the years, more and more celebrities are coming forward about embracing their older bodies and aging naturally. As fashion designer Vera Wang celebrated her 74th birthday, she shares her perspective on getting older and some of her top tips for feeling her best.

Wang's youthful appearance has frequently been praised online. However, the New Yorker claims that she doesn't really think about aging. Her career as a designer is what keeps her grounded and she tries to take care of herself so that she can continue to do what she loves. Im very flattered that people think Ive aged well, but it was never my goal, Wang says. I drink vodka, I sleep, I avoid the sun. But I like to work. I dont want to be pigeonholed.

Wang started her own independent brand at the age of 40, and it was then that she broke into the bridal business. Her love for her craft has only grown over the years. Ive always focused on work. Work was my lifeline that kept me feeling relevant and challenged me over the years, she continues. I think the mind is more powerful than one could ever understand. The challenges that work and life present us is what keep us going. That, and sleep. I can sleep around the clock.

To balance out her workload, Wang tries to get at least seven hours of sleep, but ideally nine. I think its so important. I try my best to pace myself, but with social media and the way the world has changed, its just outpaced the human brain and everything we can deal with, she explains. In addition to getting plenty of rest, Wang always wears sunscreen to protect her skin and treats herself to the oc...

Exquisite Paintings by Lee Me Kyeoung Are an Ode to the Quaint Corner Stores of South Korea "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Trees envelop a small convenience store surrounded by water and a yellow bridge

All images Lee Me Kyeoung, shared with permission

City dwellers know that convenience stores have a culture unto themselves, and although franchises continue to dominate and overtake businesses, small, independently run shops have undeniable charm. For the past several years, artist Lee Me Kyeoung (previously) has been adding to her ongoing series of paintings that celebrate the idiosyncrasies and appeal of tiny South Korean corner stores, which are increasingly facing closure.

On view throughout July at Gallery Imazoo in Gangnam, Me Kyeoungs latest works are an ode to these disappearing locales. Enveloped by lush cherry blossoms or persimmon trees, the shops are well-stocked with dense shelves, crates of goods, and advertisements pasted in the windows. Bicycles, benches, and the occasional folding chair stand outside the entrances. Delicately rendered in pen and acrylic, the paintings depict architectural and organizational variances that make each spot unique, while honoring the cultural ubiquities of these spaces.

Me Kyeoung has a robust archive of the quaint shops, which you can find on Instagram.

This Glenn Beck Museum Tour Will RED-PILL Your Leftist Friends | Ep 285 "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The far Left would love nothing more than for America to forget its own history. But its not just the good that needs preserving. We also must remember our darkest mistakes so we NEVER repeat them. Over the past few years, weve seen the rise of an expert class of elites who insist THEY know best and the rest of us should shut up and OBEY. But weve seen this before. On this episode of Glenn TV, Glenn exposes that dark history with the artifacts that prove it. Its all part of the most disturbing section of his traveling museum, Blueprints of Liberty The American Journey Experience with Glenn Beck. Called the Red Pill Room, it documents real dangers of progressivism and eugenics. Glenn tells the true stories behind disturbing artifacts documents signed by Adolf Hitler and Nazi doctor Josef Mengele that authorized mercy killings, a briefcase of papers from the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case, which allowed abortion to thrive, postcards referring to lynchings as barbecues, and one of the most twisted movies ever made, The Black Stork. These evil ideas, Glenn warns, havent gone away. Theyre just called by a new name. But even in all this darkness, there is still hope, as long as we remember what REAL truth is.
