Analysts Forecast: Bitcoin (BTC) To Hit $310,000 If This Happens "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The crypto community is currently in a state of constant speculation as renowned analyst Willy Woo sets forth a prediction suggesting Bitcoin could potentially scale up to a price of $310,000 under a specific set of circumstances.

Woos hypothesis, which has sparked a flurry of discussions in the crypto community, is hinged on an assumption that notable institutional players might decide to designate a fraction of their assets under management (AUM) to the largest digital currency, Bitcoin.

The Theoretical Path To $310,000 Bitcoin

Woo breaks down his perspective, detailing that a significant augmentation in Bitcoins market cap, coupled with a corresponding increase in its realized cap, could set the stage for this quantum leap in price. However, he underscores that the timing of these potential institutional inflows would significantly determine the trajectory of Bitcoins price.

Woo noted:

It [BTC potential to $310,000] would really depend on whether they [institutional players] deploy in a bearish or bullish phase of the market but the range would be between $128,000 $398,000. Right now its $310,000.

According to Woo, if such investment decisions take place during a bearish market phase, Bitcoin may dip to around $128,000. On the flip side, a bullish market condition could propel BTC to $400,000.

Woos projections, albeit well-reasoned, were met with a fair share of skepticism, particularly concerning the assumption of institutional asset reallocation towards Bitcoin. Reacting to the doubts, Woo emphasized the hypothetical nature of his argument, stressing that the ultimate control of asset allocation rests with the investors and not the institutions.

Investor Decisions VS Wealth Manager Discretion

Splitting wealth management into two distinct categories investor-driven decisions and wealth manager discretion Woo explained that any large-scale movement toward Bitcoin would likely necessitate the approval of the individual investors represented by these institutions.

Tweeting about his analysis, Woo stated that If these institutions allocated 5% of AUM into BTC, his calculations project above $300,000 per coin and could vary significantly to below it. However, currently, the estimate stands at $310,000, based on a methodology measuring market cap increase versus realized cap increase.

European Space Agency Releases New High-Resolution Photos of Mars

New Color Photos of Mars From ESA

Photo: ESA / DLR / FU Berlin / G. Michael, CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO

In June 2003, the European Space Agency (ESA) launched the Mars Express orbiter to investigate the surface and composition of the Red Planet. For 20 years, the spacecraft has been circling Mars, providing a wealth of information for scientists back on Earth. In celebration of this anniversary, ESA released new high-resolution photos of our neighboring planet, showcasing an unprecedented variation in color and composition.

These pictures highlight a mix of orange areas and gray-toned sectionsthe former representing oxidized iron while the latter is attributed to basaltic sands from volcanoes. There are also paler regions that contain clay and sulfate minerals, possibly suggesting the presence of water. Additionally, one of the most prominent features of the new images is the view of Valles Marineris, a system of canyons that cuts across Mars' surface.

ESA also celebrated the 2oth birthday of the orbiter with its first-ever livestream of the planet. The Mars Express took pictures every 50 seconds with the Visual Monitoring Camera and beamed them down to Earth for a stunning visual sequence. This is an old camera, originally planned for engineering purposes, at a distance of almost three hundred million kilometers from Earththis hasnt been tried before and to be honest, were not 100% certain itll work, explains James Godfrey, spacecraft operations manager at ESAs mission control center in Darmstadt, Germany. Unfortunately, part of the livestream was interrupted due to weather issues at the ESA ground station in Spain, but the rest of the video is stil...

Altcoin Whales Show Highly Active Day, Volatility Incoming? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows that altcoin whales have been highly active recently, something that could lead to volatility in the prices of these assets.

Altcoin Whales Have Displayed One Of The Most Active Days Of 2023

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, several altcoins have seen transfers worth more than $10 million in value in a single day. Generally, besides centralized platforms like exchanges, only whale investors are capable of moving such a large amount of tokens with individual transactions.

Whales are an important part of any cryptocurrencys ecosystem, as the sheer number of coins that they hold means that they can sometimes have the power to influence the market.

Related Reading: Stablecoin Cap Shows Early Sign Of Reversal, Why This Could Benefit Bitcoin

Naturally, only a couple of whales making a few sizeable, but still relatively small transfers likely wont actually produce visible fluctuations on the market, but a few massive transfers may do so.

Thus, whenever the whales are highly active (that is, a number of them are making multiple large transactions), the price of the asset that they are trading can become more likely to display volatility.

Now, here is a chart from Santiment that shows how the scale of whale activity has recently looked like for the various altcoins in the sector:

Image

As highlighted in the above graph, the whales of several altcoins moved around a large volume of tokens yesterday. Many of these alts saw major transactions crossing the $10 million mark, making the day the third most active of the year.

These large transactions have come while these alts have registered some amount of fluctuations during the past week. It would appear that this market activity has raised the interest of the whales in trading these assets.

As mentioned before, whales making such large multiple transactions can result in higher volatility for the prices of these cryptocurrencies. So far, however, since these large transfers have taken place, some of these coins have noticed some volatile price action, while the others have continued to move sideways.

From the chart, its visible that...

13 Artists Add Their Creative Touch to the Streets of Aberdeen "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

13 Artists Add Their Creative Touch to the Streets of Aberdeen

NeSpoon at NuArt Aberdeen 2023

NeSpoon

For the sixth year, the NuArt Festival, which originated in Norway, has invaded the streets of Aberdeen, Scotland. This year, 13 artists from around the globe came together to create new murals and ephemeral street installations. In doing so, they added to the vast collection of art that the festival has brought to the Scottish city.

Some of our favorite muralists, like NeSpoon and SNIK, were on hand to leave their creative touch on the walls of the city. As usual, NeSpoon connected with a local lace maker to gain inspiration for her mural. After being introduced to Evelyn Currie from the Bon Accord Bobbins Lace Group in Aberdeen and learning about her 40-year passion for lace, NeSpoon used one of her projects as the basis for the mural. The piece depicts the Scottish thistle, the country's national flower.

For their enormous mural titled An Ending, A Beginning, SNIK hand-cut nearly 400 feet of stencils. It's one of the duo's largest pieces ever and perfectly shows off their skills at creating ethereal portraits. Other notable works include a colorful mural by Brazilian artist Thiago Mazza. Using his skills, he transformed a drab parking structure into a fresh botanical garden.

This year's festival was built around the theme of rewilding. While often used in discussions about the environment, rewilding is also an interesting take on the development of street art. Where personal freedom and transgressive acts have now been replaced by permission and commissions. NuArt Aberdeen looks at how the art form can balance its roots in passion and spon...

Compound (COMP) Surges Nearly 10% In The Past Day, Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

As the crypto world continues to evolve with increased volatility, unique patterns emerge, attracting the interest of investors and analysts alike. One such way has been observed in the recent trading activity of Compound (COMP), the governance token tied to the Compound protocol. The asset experienced a significant surge, registering a nearly 10% growth within the past day.

Over the last 7 days, COMP has been in an uptrend, and the 10% single-day rise forms part of a larger appreciation pattern. This escalation is noteworthy as the tokens price soared over 50% within just a week.

Whale Activity Fuels Price Momentum

Blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain earlier today shed some light on the reason behind the recent COMP price surge. The firm disclosed on Twitter that a possible whale or institutional investor appears to have made substantial COMP transactions.

According to Lookonchain, Wallet 0x0D5 transferred 3 million USDT to Binance on June 26 and extracted 50,000 COMP, equating to around $2.26 million, 16 hours ago. The same entity reportedly withdrew an additional 120,000 COMP, valued at approximately $5.53 million from Binance shortly after.

Such considerable transfers often signify bullish behavior and could contribute to the increase in COMPs price, given their potential influence on the tokens supply and demand dynamics.

Compound (COMP) Latest Price Action

COMP token price has increased in the past few days, with the governance token breaking multiple resistance levels. COMP is currently trading above $46, up 51.7% over the past week. The token currently has a market capitalization of $32...

Stablecoin Cap Shows Early Sign Of Reversal, Why This Could Benefit Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data shows the stablecoin market cap has returned toward equilibrium and may be gearing up for a reversal. Heres how Bitcoin could benefit from this.

Aggregate Stablecoin Market Cap Change Has Returned To Equilibrium

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, the aggregate stablecoin market cap had previously been in a decline for around 14 months. The aggregate stablecoin market cap here refers to the combined market cap (that is, the total valuation in USD) of the top five stables in the sector.

More specifically, the relevant stablecoins in the current discussion are Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Binance USD (BUSD), Dai (DAI), and TrueUSD (TUSD). The complete supply of these stables is considered here, regardless of how it is distributed among the different blockchains.

Related Reading: Bitcoin Rally Stalls As Short-Term Holder Exchange Inflows Intensify

Historically, the combined market cap of these assets has held important information for the sector, as it can provide hints about whether capital is flowing into or out of the market right now.

To track the flow of capital, Glassnode has looked at the 30-day percentage change in the aggregate market cap of these fiat-tied tokens.

Here is a chart that shows the trend in this indicator over the past few years:

Stablecoin Aggregate Market Cap

Naturally, when the value of this metric is positive, it means that the top 5 stablecoins have registered net inflows during the last thirty days. On the other hand, negative values imply outflows have taken place in the past month.

From the graph, its visible that the 30-day percentage change in the aggregate stablecoin market cap was quite positive during the 2021 bull run. This would imply that these assets were constantly seeing an expansion in their supplies in this period.

Usually, investors make use of stables whenever they want to escape the volatility associated with other cryptocurrencies. Such holders keep their capital in the form of these assets until they want to buy back into a volatile coin like Bitcoin or withdraw into fiat. Obviously, in the former scenario, the purchasing can have a positive effect on the price o...

Introducing The Chief Lightning Officers, Dedicated To Bitcoin Adoption Through Education "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Tim Niemeyer, co-host of the Lincolnland Bitcoin Meetup and a member of the Chief Lightning Officers.

On January 4, 2023 (block 770,402, for those of you keeping score at home), the Chief Lightning Officers (CLO) was created.

What started out as a small group of voluntary plebs has blossomed into roughly 50 Bitcoiners engaging in bi-weekly calls with the intent to arm each other with all of the necessary tools and skills to further Lightning adoption at the local level. The plebs that make up the group have wide-ranging skill sets across multiple industries, such as education, finance and information technology, in addition to holding blue-collar jobs. This grassroots movement has lofty goals. As early member Mark Maraia stated in an interview for this article, CLOs have embarked on a mission of helping Lightning rails rule the Earth.

Diagnosing Before Prescribing

While Maraia and many others in the group have sales experience, the goal is not about closing the deal: Self-appointed members of CLO, who call themselves chief Lightning officers, meet local, prospective Lightning point-of-sale (PoS) merchants with a fact-finding mindset: they build relationships with these local merchants and uncover their pain points. While its easy for Bitcoiners to say Bitcoin fixes this, CLOs attempt to, as Maraia puts it, diagnose before you prescribe.

The biggest frictions discussed by the group have been high fees, delayed settlements, the security of in-house funds, friction during international business transactions and overreaching government regulations. But, as anyone who has studied the Lightning Network enough has realized, it has boundless potential to reduce fees, lightning quick final settlement, increased security and privacy, not to mention its ability to be borderless and permissionless.

The goal of the first few meetings of CLO was to determine which industries were ripe for Lightning adoption. Of the early suggestions were cannabis dispensaries, coffee shops (oh, the irony paying for coffee with bitcoin), food trucks and non-chain restaurants, local sports teams and craft brewers, to name a few. During each meeting, the group brainstorms other industries that would benefit from utilizing the Lightning payments network (LPN). The group agrees that local Bitcoin meetups should all be working toward having merchants at their meetup spot accept Lightning payments. Some already are, like Boulder Bitcoin, which created an LNURL/QR code that funds meetup event items such as drinks and pizza. Lincolnland Bitcoin is in the process of obtaining the Worlds Smallest Bitcoin (Lightning) Hobby ATM so that local pl...

Ethereum (ETH) Price Drops Due Whale Selling, Key Levels To Watch "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum (ETH), the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, experienced a price drop of over 3% within the last 24 hours. The reason is presumably a significant sell-off carried out by a prominent whale. The whale deposited 25,000 ETH (worth around $47.24 million) on Binance, only to withdraw a significant amount of USDT shortly afterwards.

As the on-chain data provider Lookonchain reports, the whale has probably already sold a part of his ETH. According to the on-chain data, the whale withdrew 16 million in USDT. The drop in ETH price [a few hours] ago was most likely due to the sell-off of this whale, the analysts note, further explaining that the whale still owns around 8,000 ETH ($14.7 million) unsold.

Nevertheless, ETH bulls continue to show strength. A look at the 1-hour chart of Ethereum reveals that the price has formed a bull flag. In technical analysis, a flag is a short-term consolidation pattern that occurs after a strong price move and indicates a temporary break in the trend.

A bullish flag forms during an uptrend with the flagpole pointing upwards, followed by a consolidation phase before a possible continuation of the upward movement. For now, the pattern has held, ETH has bounced up from the 4H 200 EMA at $1,825. In this respect, the bulls remain in control (despite the whale) for the time being.

Ethereum ETH price

Basically, two scenarios are conceivable. If the aforementioned support levels are broken to the downside, especially the underside of the flag, Ethereum could face a further price decline towards $1,750. Conversely, a breakout from the flag pattern to the upside (around $1,900) could trigger a price rise towards $2,000.

However, according to analyst Ali Martinez, thats where the price will hit Ethereums key supply wall, which is in the $2,000 t...

Dogecoin Faces Downward Pressure Will DOGE Bulls Avert A Further Slide? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Dogecoin (DOGE) is currently facing a critical juncture in its price movement. The DOGE price is teetering above the last horizontal support level before a potential substantial decline. In order to avoid a steep fall, it is imperative for Dogecoin to muster a decisive bounce at its current level.

However, this task may prove to be challenging as a persistent downtrend, marked by a descending trendline, has been undermining the efforts of buyers to establish a sustained bullish recovery for nearly two months.

Will Dogecoin be able to break free from this downward pressure and embark on a new upward trajectory?

A Crucial Juncture For DOGE Price

Analyzing the technical aspects of Dogecoins price movement on the weekly time frame reveals a significant decrease at the beginning of June, ultimately reaching the $0.06 horizontal support area. This particular zone holds immense importance as it has remained intact for an impressive 378-day period.

Whether the price manages to bounce back above this critical level or succumbs to a breakdown could potentially dictate the future trend for DOGE.

At present, according to CoinGecko, the value of Dogecoin stands at $0.063. However, recent market conditions have not been favorable, leading to a slump in DOGEs price.

North Carolina House Approves Bitcoin Study, What Will It Reveal? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In consideration of recent developments, a bill has been introduced to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a state-administered depository for cryptocurrencies, positioning North Carolina as the custodian of its Bitcoin and virtual asset holdings.

However, the proposed study will thoroughly assess the costs and benefits associated with alternatives such as a privately managed depository or utilizing the depository of another state.

A Comprehensive Study For North Carolinas Financial Holdings

On June 28, the House approved a bill that authorizes a comprehensive study with a budget of $50,000. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of incorporating gold bullion and virtual currencies like BTC into North Carolinas financial holdings. The study aims to examine various aspects, including the secure acquisition, storage, insurance, and liquidation of these assets.

One of the main areas of investigation is the potential impact that gold and cryptocurrency holdings could have on North Carolinas funds.

Specifically, the study intends to assess whether such holdings could serve as a hedge against inflation and mitigate systemic credit risks. Furthermore, it seeks to determine if integrating gold and crypto assets into the portfolio could effectively reduce volatility and enhance overall returns.

By undertaking this study, the House plans to gather crucial insights and evidence that will inform the decision-making process regarding North Carolinas investment strategy.

The bill emphasizes a neutral and data-driven approach to understanding the potential benefits and risks associated with diversifying the states financial holdings with gold and virtual currencies.

The bill was successfully passed in the House with a majority vote of 73 in favor, 40 against, and seven members absent. For it to become law or be subject to a potential veto by Governor Roy Cooper, it must now proceed to the Senate for further consideration.

Bitcoin Study: Analysis Of North Carolinas Virtual Asset Holdings

In a separate legislative initiative, on May 3, North Carolinas House unanimously approved a bill that would prohibit payments to the state using a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Additionally, the bill specified that North Carolina would not permit the Federal Reserve to conduct any future pilot CBDC testing within its jurisdiction.

A Brief History of Japanese Art: From Prehistoric Pottery to Yayoi Kusama in Half an Hour "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The earliest known works of Japanese art date from the Jmon period, which lasted from 10,500 to 300 BC. In fact, the periods very name comes from the patterns its potters created by pressing twisted cords into clay, resulting in a predecessor of the wave patterns that have been much used since. In the Heian period, which began in 794, a new aristocratic class arose, and with it a new form of art: Yamato-e, an elegant painting style dedicated to the depiction of Japanese landscapes, poetry, history, and mythology, usually on folding screens or scrolls (the best known of which illustrates The Tale of Genji, known as the first novel ever written).

This is the beginning of the story of Japanese art as told in the half-hour-long Behind the Masterpiece video above. It continues in 1185 with the Kamakura period, whose brewing sociopolitical turmoil intensified in the subsequent Nanbokucho period, which began in 1333. As life in Japan became more chaotic, Buddhism gained popularity, and along with that Indian religion spread a shift in preferences toward more vital, realistic art, including celebrations of rigorous samurai virtues and depictions of Buddhas. In this time arose the form of sumi-e, literally ink picture, whose tranquil monochromatic minimalism stands in the minds of many still today for Japanese art itself.

This surge comes as a breath of fresh air for the crypto community, which has been grappling with volatility and uncertainty in the last few weeks.

With a strong focus on scalability and accessibility, Stellar has garnered a loyal following among individuals and organizations seeking efficient and inclusive financial solutions.

But what factors have contributed to this remarkable growth?

A Newly-Discovered Fresco in Pompeii Reveals a Precursor to Pizza "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Archaeologists digging in Pompeii have unearthed a fresco containing what may be a distant ancestor of the modern pizza. The fresco features a platter with wine, fruit, and a piece of flat focaccia. According to Pompeii archaeologists, the focaccia doesnt have tomatoes and mozzarella on top. Rather, it seemingly sports pomegranate, spices, perhaps a type of pesto, and possibly condimentswhich is just a short hop, skip and a jump away to pizza.

Found in the atrium of a house connected to a bakery, the finely-detailed fresco grew out of a Greek tradition (called xenia) where gifts of hospitality, including food, are offered to visitors. Naturally, the fresco was entombed (and preserved) for centuries by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D.

AITA for saying my last goodbyes to a kid I used to nanny for?

I(28f) have been the nanny to this sweet, little kid Franny(8) for the past 3 years.

Shes honestly such an angel and I was super lucky to get to take care of her since we got along well and she never really started any trouble. It was also nice since they live in the same apartment complex as me.

Anyways, I recently just started dating again for the first time since then due to a rough breakup. I ran into Frans parents while out on a date with my girlfriend who made it pretty clear they were uncomfortable that I was gay. Literally that night, I got a sudden text message saying they found a new nanny that worked better for their needs and that I wouldnt be welcome in their home again and not to contact them.

Im still pissed off, because we got along all fine until they realized I was a lesbian?? Anyways I went the next morning to question them in person since they live a floor...

Revolutionary Invention: Romanian Teenager Invents a Battery the Size of a Marker Pen to Power Neighborhoods for 50 Years. "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Picture
In a groundbreaking achievement, a 15-year-old Romanian student has unveiled a mind-blowing invention that could change the way we perceive power generation. Vladimir Stefan Virzob, a prodigious student at the National College Traian in Drobeta Turnu Severin has developed a miniature radioisotopic battery capable of powering an entire residential district for an impressive half century. This extraordinary device, called the KN-9, is comparable in size to a simple marker pen, but has incredible power, producing up to 16 megawatts a day.
The young Vrzob, already a gold medalist at the 6th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations Traian Vuia in Timioara and a silver medalist at the International Exhibition of Inventions and Inventions in Warsaw, continues to surprise the scientific community with his innovative ideas.
Picture
Inspired by principles established in the mid-20th century, he revolutionized the innovative approach that has not yet been explored by specialists in the field.
In an interview, Vrzob shared his excitement over the potential of his creation. My invention concerns a radioisotopic battery that has the ability to convert nuclear radiation into electricity. What sets it apart is the unique scientific community, he enthusiastically explained.
Although the exact cost of production remains uncertain, Vrzob confidently states that his invention offers remarkable efficiency when compared to existing technologies currently available.

  • Betrayed by Diversity? Pride Flags Banned in First Muslim-Majority US City

https://www.atheistrepublic.com/news/betrayed-diversity-pride-flags-banned-first-muslim-majority-us-city

Location: United States

Eight years after the election of the first Muslim-majority city council in Hamtramck, Michigan, a sense of betrayal echoes amongst the city's liberal community. Former Mayor Karen Majewski expressed her disappointment saying, Theres a sense of betrayal. We supported you when you were threatened, and now our rights are threatened, and youre the one doing the threatening. Her remarks came in response to the council's controversial decision to ban the display of Pride flags on city property, a decision that coincides with Pride Month and a period of increasing threats to LGBTQIA+ rights in the U.S. The decision has led to a complex tension between the socially conservative Muslims and liberal residents, who once celebrated the council's 2015 election as a demonstration of diversity and a rebuttal to Islamophobia. Nevertheless, as these tensions rise, there's also a call for inclusion and coexistence from individuals like Gracie Cadieux, a local resident who stated, We arent in the business of excluding people from our society, and Im not going to exclude socially conservative Muslims they have a place at the table just like everyone else. However, they cannot, and will not, shove another community out of the way."

Shiba Inu Lead Dev Shares Mysterious Where Video As SHIB Readies For Breakout? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shibarium, the highly anticipated layer 2 solution by Shiba Inu, is facing significant delays, leaving investors in a state of uncertainty. Despite initial expectations for a launch between the second and third quarter of 2023, the exact release date remains unknown.

However, Shiba Inu chief developer Shytoshi Kusama released a new video today that may give the community renewed optimism. Alluding to the most frequently asked question of when Shibarium will finally be released, Kusama wrote via Twitter today: Wen is so last year. The real question is WHERE? and shared numerous hashtags: #SHIBARMY #SHIBARIUM #SHIBOSHIS #SHIBAETERNITY #MVSHIB #SHIBACALS #WELLY #UNIFICATION #BADIDEAI #SEEYOUTHERE.

The video features the Shiba Inu logo and a major (American) city. The message of the video is: Something is coming. Actually we are going somewhere. Apparently the developers of Shiba Inu are planning a big event, whether it is the launch party for Shibarium is the one million dollar question. At least thats what Kusamas words suggest, as its apparently no longer a question of when, but where. However, it could just be a Shiba Inu convention or an event to announce something else, so far its all speculation.

Is home birth safe?

According to the most recent and up-to-date research evidence, yes. On this page, Ill share some of that with you. I also link to a number of articles and blog posts that Ive written about this.

In 2019, a large systematic review and meta-analysis was published in The Lancet. It looked at 14 studies including data from around 500,000 intended home births. The authors found that, The risk of perinatal or neonatal mortality was not different when birth was intended at home or in hospital. (Hutton et al 2019).

This is just one of many studies that show the same thing. The Hutton et al (2019) study was remarkable because of its size. But, as the studies on this page show, its not a unique finding.

If youre the kind of person that likes the detail, here are the results of the Hutton et al (2019) study:

Among nulliparous women intending a home birth in settings where midwives attending home birth are well-integrated in health services, the odds ratio (OR) of perinatal or neonatal mortality compared to those intending hospital birth was 1.07 (95% Confidence Interval [CI], 0.70 to 1.65); and in less integrated settings 3.17 (95% CI, 0.73 to 13.76). Among multiparous women intending a home birth in well-integrated settings, the estimated OR compared to those intending a hospital birth was 1.08 (95% CI, 0.84 to 1.38); and in less integrated settings was 1.58 (95% CI, 0.50 to 5.03). 5 Emotional Abuse Tactics In Relationships That Can Seem Innocent At First "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Emotional abuse can be insidious, leaving lasting scars on victims and damaging the fabric of their relationships. It is crucial to recognize that abusive behaviors can manifest in ways that initially appear innocent or harmless. By shedding light on these seemingly benign tactics, we can develop a deeper understanding of emotional abuse and empower individuals to identify and address it in their relationships.

  1. Belittling and Gaslighting

One of the most prevalent emotional abuse tactics is belittling or undermining the victims thoughts, feelings, or abilities. Abusers may make derogatory comments disguised as jokes, consistently downplay their partners accomplishments, or dismiss their emotions as irrational. Combined with gaslightinga manipulative technique aimed at making the victim doubt their own perceptions and sanitythis can leave victims feeling confused, invalidated, and doubting their own self-worth.

  1. Control and Isolation

Abusers often seek to control their partners lives by limiting their social interactions and isolating them from friends, family, and support networks. Initially, this may seem like an innocent desire to spend more time together or concern for their partners well-being. However, when an individual is constantly monitoring their partners activities, demanding constant contact, or restricting their freedom, it becomes a form of emotional abuse that isolates the victim and undermines their independence.

  1. Withholding Affection and Intimacy

Emotional abusers may withhold affection, intimacy, or emotional support as a means of control. They may use the silent treatment, withholding physical or emotional intimacy, or intentionally creating distance to manipulate their partners emotions. This subtle tactic can lead the victim to question their worthiness of love and foster a sense of unworthiness, leaving them desperate for any sign of affection or validation.

  1. Constant Criticism and Undermining

Emotional abusers often engage in a pattern of constant criticism, focusing on their partners flaws, mistakes, or perceived inadequacies. They may use constructive criticism as a guise to erode the victims self-esteem and self-confidence, leaving them feeling constantly judged and unable to meet the abusers ever-changing expectations. Over time, this can significantly damage the victims self-image and create a cycle of self-doubt and reliance on the abuser for validation.

  1. Manipulative Guilt and Blame

Abusers frequently employ manipulative tactics such as guilt-tripping and blame-shifting to maintain control over their victims. They may use phrases like If you loved me, you would or Its your fault I...

5 Things Cheaters Say When Theyve Been Caught "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Infidelity is a painful and complicated betrayal that can shake the foundation of any relationship. When confronted with their deceitful actions, cheaters often resort to a variety of tactics to minimize their guilt or manipulate the situation. By understanding the common phrases cheaters tend to use when theyve been caught, we can gain insight into their mindset and better equip ourselves to navigate the aftermath of infidelity.

  1. It didnt mean anything

One of the most common phrases cheaters employ is downplaying the significance of their actions. By claiming that their infidelity was meaningless, cheaters aim to diminish the emotional impact and hope to shift the focus away from their betrayal. However, it is essential to recognize that infidelity is a breach of trust, regardless of whether it involved emotional or physical connection.

  1. Im sorry, I never meant to hurt you

Feigned remorse is another tactic employed by cheaters to elicit sympathy and minimize the gravity of their actions. While genuine remorse may exist, it is crucial to distinguish between words and actions. True remorse should be followed by a sincere effort to understand the pain caused, making amends, and rebuilding trust.

  1. You pushed me into it

Cheaters may attempt to deflect blame onto their partners by suggesting that their actions were a result of their partners behavior or shortcomings. This statement shifts responsibility away from the cheater and seeks to justify their infidelity. However, it is vital to remember that infidelity is a choice, and healthier alternatives, such as open communication or seeking professional help, should be pursued to address relationship issues.

  1. It was a mistake

Describing their infidelity as a mistake is a common attempt by cheaters to absolve themselves of accountability. While everyone is prone to making mistakes, infidelity is a deliberate and conscious choice that often involves planning and deception. It is crucial to recognize that accepting responsibility is a fundamental step towards rebuilding trust.

  1. I promise it wont happen again

Promises of change and fidelity are often offered as a means to regain trust and salvage the relationship. However, it is essential to exercise caution when evaluating these promises. Rebuilding trust after infidelity requires consistent and sincere effort over an extended period. Couples therapy or counseling can be valuable tools in addressing the underlying issues and rebuilding a stronger foundation.

When confronted with their infidelity, cheaters may resort to various tactics to manipulate the situation and minimize their guilt. By being aware of the phrases commo...

Annoyed At Wife Nappy Bag He Got Mad at His Wife for Not Having Any Diapers. Did He Go Too Far?

If you have children, you always have to be prepared.

That means you should always have food, formula, wipes, and nappies (diapers) on hand at all times.

So was this guy a jerk for getting annoyed with his wife because she didnt have any nappies for their baby?

Check out his story and see what you think.

AITA for getting annoyed at my wife for having no nappies in the nappy bag?

So I (M35) took the baby (F2) out the other day whilst my wife (F35) was at work. I am prepared for several hours out of the house, snack, juice, books (Dont Mess with Duck which I highly recommend) etc.. I grab the nappy bag, throw it in the pram and leave.

We go to the pub for a spot of lunch, we read a story, I drink some of my pint and then the baby poos. No problem, I threw the nappy bag into the pram.

I go through said bag and there are no nappies.

Its 21C outside, she is in a dress and I have promised the park. I am panicking. There are trousers in the bag, do I just bang them on and style it out? Do we sack off the park and go home? DonI just deal with that meltdown?

Luckily the pub have nappies in the changing room and I bang her in some tight fitting neonatal nappies and we head for the park.

When I get home, my wife gets annoyed at me for not checking the bag before leaving. My standpoint: if you use the last nappy, you should replenish the bag...

The Bias that Creates the Illusion of an Effective Covid Vaccine "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The prevailing narrative tells us that vaccinating the frail and elderly against Covid had a dramatic effect on mortality. How strong is the presumed effect of a Covid vaccine in that vulnerable population? Is it as strong as many believe, or perhaps much closer to zero than to the other end of the scale?

First, there is bad news to share, even before estimating any possible benefit.

Data from DenmarkIsrael, and Sweden show increased risk of infection within one week or so after the first dose. Possible mechanisms include transient immunosuppression (decreased lymphocyte infection, and infection at vaccination sites. News outlets in Israel reported outbreaks of Covid infections in nursing homes shortly after the initiation of the vaccination campaign, and again after initiating the booster campaign (use Google Translate). Needless to say, when the risk of infection increases, the risk of death increases too.

The Truth about Roswell: Decoding Decades of Deception "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

It was a sunny afternoon on June 24th, 1947, and Kenneth Arnold was flying his small aircraft over Mineral, Washington. He was heading to Yakima but took a slight detour to look for a lost US Marine Corps plane. If he could find it, hed collect a nice reward. Flying near Mount Rainier, he spotted a shiny object in his plane's mirror. Then, he saw multiple flashes of light. It looked like a group of aircraft, flying in formation. But something was wrong - these 'aircraft' didn't have tails. And they were flying faster than anything hed ever seen. After about two minutes, the objects vanished near Mount Adams. When Kenneth landed in Yakima, he immediately told his friends and airport staff about his bizarre experience. By the time he reached Pendleton, Oregon, his story had spread. Reporters were eager to hear it. In describing the odd movement of these objects, Kenneth said it was like a teacup saucer skipping across a lake. At that moment, the term flying saucer was born. And over the next two weeks, events would unfold that would affect every person on Earth. And change the course of history. https://youtu.be/rih9-80p0Ec

Tips Money Dont Work What Tips for Saving Money Just Dont Work for You? Heres What People Said.

Lets get real: wed all like to save more money but sometimes we just have to splurge a little bit on things that make us happy: a nice meal, a new gadget, some fancy clothes.

So, while it sounds good in theory, saving cash doesnt always happen.

Lets hear from AskReddit users about money saving tips that just dont seem to work for them.

You need the good stuff.

Cheap coffee for me. I can absolutely taste the difference and its disgusting.

I dont smoke or drink so when I treat myself to a coffee its gonna be a good one.

Starbucks is overrated. Costa is good. McDonalds coffee is surprisingly good and a decent price.

Just say noto Costco.

My pet peeve is telling me to shop at Costco because its cheaper.

I live alone so the portions of fresh things are just too big.

The membership and driving to a separate store doesnt save me any money.

Not cutting it.

Cheap shampoo.

My hair looks like garbage with that stuff and I get sores on my head.

Can be pricey.

Gardening.

If you dont have anything to garden with, its a little pricey. Also, if you dont have the knowledge, the trial and error is costly of money and time.

Matthew A. Eller: Youre mostly known for using familiar images into your work which without a second look are dead ringers for real advertisements. For example your recent Sesame Street campaign brought attention to climate change. Can you tell me a little bit about that?

Winston Tseng: Well, the idea for that campaign came from all the really bleak headlines and stories we see everyday about the climate. Were constantly inundated, and it felt like were getting a bit numb to it. So I thought,...

Man Rescues a Turtle That Got Stuck Between Rocks on a Beach in Hawaii "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Man Rescues a Turtle That Got Stuck Between Rocks on a Beach in Hawaii

Screenshots of video showing a man rescuing a turtle that got stuck between rocks in Hawaii

Photo: Screenshot from Reddit

Being in the right place at the right time can sometimes be a lifesaver. One man on a beach in Hawaii learned this when he spotted a sea turtle stuck on the coastal rocks. Luckily, he quickly sprang into action. A 45-second clip posted to Reddit shows the dramatic rescue, as the man struggles a bit to free the turtle before finally being able to save it.

Waves break on the sea turtle, who seems to have been trapped between two rocks and is desperately waving its flippers. Come on, get out, the man can be heard saying as he approaches the animal and lifts it by its sides. Things seem to go sideways for a moment as the turtle slips deeper in between the rocks. Not giving up, the man then boosts it from below, and the turtle gets to climb the rock before happily swimming off into the sea.

Since adult sea turtles can weigh between 73 to 110 lbs, the man is definitely putting in a lot of effort to release the turtle. As if the heaviness of the creature didn't complicate the rescue enough, wet beach rocks are notoriously slippery. However, the man manages to stay safe and on his feet by looking up to check for any incoming waves.

Shared in the aptly titled Humans Being Bros subreddit by user westcoastcdn19, the video has amassed over 25,000 upvotes and the gratitude of every animal lover. Thanks for not giving up on it! says one...

North Carolina House Advances Bill To Study Virtual Currency Including Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The North Carolina House of Representatives has passed House Bill 721, which includes provisions to study the acquisition and potential benefits of virtual currency, with a specific focus on Bitcoin. The bill, titled State Precious Metals Depository Study, aims to examine the process of securely holding, insuring, and liquidating virtual currency on behalf of the state. It has now been referred to the Senate for further consideration.

The legislation recognizes the growing importance of virtual currency, as defined in G.S. 53-208.42(20), and proposes evaluating its potential impact on the state's financial strategy. The study outlined in the bill will analyze the expected benefits of allocating a portion of the General Fund to virtual currency, aiming to hedge against inflation and systemic credit risks, reduce overall portfolio volatility, and increase portfolio returns over time.

Language relating to the study of virtual currency, including the specific reference to Bitcoin, was added after Dan Spuller, head of industry affairs at the North Carolina Blockchain Initiative, testified on behalf of the Initiative in front of the North Carolina House Standing Committee. Spuller, who highlighted in a subsequent tweet that this is one of many pro-Bitcoin pushes the Initiative is making in the state, received unanimous support in the language being added to the bill.

In addition to exploring the potential benefits of virtual currency like Bitcoin, the bill also emphasizes the importance of assessing the costs, benefits and security measures associated with various depository options. The study will examine the feasibility of utilizing a privately managed depository, another state's depository, or establishing a State-administered depository within North Carolina. The ultimate goal is to determine the most suitable custodian, guardian and administrator for virtual currency assets held by the state, its agencies, political subdivisions, or other instrumentalities.

Quoting directly from the bill, it states, "the expected impact of allocating a portion of the General Fund to virtual currency to hedge against inflation and systemic credit risks, reduce overall portfolio volatility, and increase portfolio returns over time."

The inclusion of virtual currency and Bitcoin in the legislation showcases North Carolina's proactive approach to studying Bitcoin and exploring its potential benefits.

What Is Proof Of Stake? And How Does It Work? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Introduction

In a blockchain network where participants remain anonymous, a dependable coordination mechanism is essential. The "proof" acts as confirmation that a participant has met the requirements to validate a block of transactions, signifying their good-faith participation. One such consensus algorithm employed to generate new blocks, distribute new cryptocurrency, and validate transactions is proof of stake (PoS).

This mechanism provides an alternative to the original consensus method, proof of work (PoW). Rather than the energy expenditure necessitated by PoW, PoS requires validators or miners to make contributions to the network from their own holdings of the blockchain's native cryptocurrency, i.e., their stake.

To avoid losing their stake, validators are incentivized to operate honestly and reach a consensus on the order and validity of transactions. PoS miners are selected based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold or "stake" in the network; therefore, the more cryptocurrency a validator stakes, the more likely they will be chosen to create the next block.

Read More >> Technical Guide To Proof Of Stake

Comparison With Proof Of Work

Instead of stakes, PoW requires considerable computational resources and energy consumption to validate transactions and create new blocks. For this reason, people assume proof of stake is more energy efficient and less resource intensive than PoW. Yet, we will learn later in this article that this is a somewhat false assumption.

Both consensus mechanisms aim at producing new blocks and validating transactions. They must also maintain the security and integrity of the blockchain network, but they do so in different ways.

In PoW, miners compete to solve the Byzantine Generals Problem faster and reach a consensus on the validity of transactions. The quickest miner to complete the target hash creates a new block and receives the block reward, the network's token of value. By selecting the chain with the most work, the network overcomes any ambiguity, and double spending is prevented due to requiring at least 51% of the global hash power for a double spend block to catch up.

In Ethereums PoS, by means of comparison, the double-spending problem is solved using checkpoint blocks at various points in time, approved by a two-thirds majority vote through a stake to assure everyone in the network about the truth of the system.

Another significant difference between PoS and PoW is the incentives and the ethics behind them. In a PoS network, i...

Pat Sajak announced that he will be stepping down as the host of Wheel of Fortune after a whopping 41 seasons under his belt, and the hunt was on to find his successor. Fans of the TV game show didn't have to wait long to find out who it will be. Media personality and producer Ryan Seacrest confirmed that he will be the new host, joining Vanna White in the next installment of the series.

Sajak has been the face of Wheel of Fortune since its syndication in 1983, so this marks a huge turning point for the beloved TV show. I am humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak, Seacrest writes. I can say, along with the rest of America, that it's been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them. Pat, I love the way you've always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease. I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.

While Sajak will be continuing his tenure through the 41st seasonwhich begins in SeptemberSeacrest will presumably pick up the mantle soon afterward. His experience as a host of American Idol for over 20 years will certainly help him find his footing in his new role. Additionally, Sajak stated that he will be working as a consultant on Wheel of Fortune for three years, so he will still have a presence during the transitory period.

Many people probably don't know this but one of my first jobs was hosting a little game show called Click' for Merv Griffin 25 years ago so this is truly a full circle moment for me and I'm grateful to Sony for the opportunity, Seacrest adds. I can't wait to continue t...

MicroStrategy's Aggressive Bitcoin Acquisition Strategy Secures 0.726% of Total Supply "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

MicroStrategy, the leading public corporation in terms of bitcoin holdings, has once again demonstrated its aggressive bitcoin acquisition strategy. The company recently announced the purchase of an additional 12,333 BTC for approximately $347.0 million, at an average price of $28,136 per bitcoin. This brings MicroStrategy's total holdings to an impressive 152,333 BTC, acquired at an average price of $29,668 per bitcoin. With a total of 21 million bitcoins set to ever exist, MicroStrategy now controls approximately 0.726% of the total available supply.

This latest move by MicroStrategy further solidifies its position as the largest public corporation holder of bitcoin. MicroStrategy's journey with bitcoin began in August 2020, and despite selling some of its holdings for tax loss harvesting in December 2022, the company has consistently increased its bitcoin collection. In fact, shortly after the sale, MicroStrategy acquired an additional 2,500 bitcoin, further bolstering its already significant holdings. With their current holdings, MicroStrategy now controls approximately 0.726% of the total 21 million bitcoins that will ever be mined.

In addition to its relentless accumulation of bitcoin, MicroStrategy has recently revealed plans to leverage Lightning for enterprise infrastructure services and content monetization solutions. The company's chairman, Michael Saylor, has been actively spearheading the mission of advancing Bitcoin adoption and development.

The latest acquisition of bitcoin by MicroStrategy reinforces the company's belief in the long-term viability of the digital asset. With Marathon being the only other company holding a substantial amount of bitcoin compared to MicroStrategy, and this acquisition being larger than their entire holdings, it is clear that MicroStrategy's aggressive acquisition strategy positions it as a dominant force in the corporate bitcoin space, controlling a significant percentage of the limited supply.

Archaeologists Uncover a Fresco in Pompeii with a Cheesy Pizza-Like Dish Served on a Silver Platter "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An ancient fresco on a wall depicts a pizza-like dish, chalice with wine, and fruit served on a silver platter

Pompeiianstheyre just like us! Hungry for pizza.

Earlier this year, archaeologists excavating a block of houses in Regio IX of the Vesuvian city uncovered a fresco that shows a round, doughy dish resembling the modern favorite. Researchers were quick to point out that pizza, as we know it today, hadnt been invented when the 2,000-year-old painting was created, although the ancient civilization did enjoy foccacia, a cousin of the tomato and cheese-covered pie.

This dish appears topped with pomegranate, spices, and a cheesy pesto known as moretum. Served on a silver platter accompanied by dried fruit, yellow strawberries, and a chalice filled with wine, the focaccia likely represents a gift of hospitality, according to the Archeological Park of Pompeii. These offerings to guests emerged from the Hellenistic period and the Greek practice of Xenia, which also describes the genre of paintings depicting this tradition.

Approximately 300 frescoes of ancient food have been found around Pompeii, although this still life is particularly well executed. While the work offers insight into what the buried civilization ate, director Gabriel Zuchtriegel says it also has implications for how we understand the evolution of food and wealth, sharing:

I think about the contrast between a modest and simple meal that reminds us of a sphere...

Elton John Delivers Final UK Performance at Glastonbury Music Festival

After a career that spans over 50 years, the legendary singer Elton John gave his final performance in the UK. The momentous event happened at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival, with a set covering his greatest hits, including Saturday, Candle in the Wind, and Bennie and the Jets. Fans recorded videos of the crowd surrounding the Pyramid stage and noted that it might be the biggest ever, surpassing the 100,000 people that came out to see Paul McCartney in 2022. A video of John's performance of Rocket Man shows how incredible the energy was that evening.

At 76 years old, the British pop legend seemed as focused as ever while singing and simultaneously playing the piano. His performance of Rocket Man lasted over 10 minutes, featuring numerous visual effects that brought delight to the thousands of fans cheering below. As John belted the lyrics, fireworks went off over the Glastonbury crowd, not once, but several times over the duration of the song.

Overhead photos of the event capture just how packed it was, with crowds stretching out into the distance. The energy last night was like nothing else, and I couldnt be more grateful to the crowd and the people watching at home for all your love and support. You will be in my heart and soul forever, John wrote on his Instagram. The performance is already one of the most-watched shows of the year with more than 7 million people tuning in to watch it on the BBC. And while the number of attendees has not been tallied yet, it's suspected that it was the largest crowd in Glastonbury history.

Although this is John's final concert in the UK, he will be sharing his talents again soon at a concert in Sweden on July 8,...

The Work of Happiness: May Sartons Stunning Poem About Being at Home in Yourself "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

What is happiness but growth in peace.

The Work of Happiness: May Sartons Stunning Poem About Being at Home in Yourself

In a culture predicated on the perpetual pursuit of happiness, as if it were a fugitive on the loose, it can be hard to discern what having happiness actually feels like, how it actually lives in us. Willa Cather came consummately close in her definition of happiness as the feeling of being dissolved into something complete and great a definition consonant with Iris Murdochs lovely notion of unselfing. And yet happiness is as much a matter of how we inhabit the self how we make ourselves at home in our own singular lives, in the dwelling-places of our own experience.

That is what May Sarton (May 3, 1912July 16, 1995), who has written so movingly about unhappiness and its cure, explores in her poem The Work of Happiness, included in her indispensable Collected Poems: 19301993 (public library).

DIY Drink Dispenser Stand / Holder "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

drink dispenser stand carrier

Building the Drink Dispenser Stand and Carrier

This drink dispenser stand was super easy to build!  First, I cut all my boards using a compound miter saw - but you could also use a circular saw or jigsaw for cuts.

Cutting the Handles

Since this drink dispenser stand flips to become a carrier for the drink dispensers, I wanted handles to help hold it.  You could use hardware pulls as well.  Here's how I cut my handles out:

cutting handles cutting handles

I first drilled two holes with a spade bit.  Then I connected the two holes together with jigsaw cuts.

Building the Drink Dispenser Crate

Once the handles were cut, I can start building.  I used brad nails to build - you can also use screws or staples - all work great, just a matter of tool availability and fastener preference.  GLUE is essential if using nails or staples.

drink dispenser crate diy

I built two sides identical, with the 1x2 attach on the inside.  The 1x2 also works as a support for heavy drinks.

Then I attached the 1x2 for the bottom frame - this is all detailed in the plans below.
