Seychelles is a country made up of an archipelago of 115 islands off the west coast of Africa. Known for its gorgeous waters and rich tree-covered islands, it has become a popular tourist destination in recent decades. But one small island called Moyenne remains an oasis within paradise. Bought by an eccentric Englishman named Brendon Grimshaw in the 1960s, the island has been carefully conserved to be as healthy and rich as Seychelles before the tourist boom. Since Grimshaw's death in 2012, the island has become a protected national park, the smallest in the world.

Grimshaw first visited Seychelles in 1962 at a time when many African countries were becoming independent. During this time of great change, Grimshaw was working as a journalist but began looking for a new career. Buying an island seemed an appealing new project, but most were expensive. Almost by chance, he found Moyenne, a .038 square mile island off the north coast of Seychelles' largest island, Mah. He purchased it for 8,000 and began the next great journey of his life.

The island was abandoned other than a family of local fishermen. The many trees were choked with weedy underbrush. White sand and boulders ringed the tiny island. Grimshaw and Rene Antoine Lafortune, a 19-year-old local, formed a close bond as they cleared the underbrush, cut paths, and planted trees. Today the island boasts 16,000 trees, many planted by them. They include mahogany, palm, and mango trees. His vision was to leave an unspoiled island for future generations of Seychellois and the world, said Suketu Patel, a friend of Grimshaw's since 1976, to the BBC. He wanted a mini-Seychelles. He wanted to try and replicate what Seychel...

Stacks (STX) Rallies By 29% In The Past 7 Days Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The cryptocurrency Stacks (STX) has recently experienced a remarkable turnaround, with its price bouncing back after reaching a multi-month low of $0.4412. Investors have seized the opportunity to buy the dip, resulting in a continuous upward trend for STX over the past few days. As a result, STX is now trading at $0.7916, marking a significant 29% increase from its lowest level this month.

Stacks is up 29% In 7-days: source @coingecko

Potential Catalysts For STX

Two primary reasons drive the surge in Stacks price. Firstly, the decision by Blackrock to file for a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) with the US Securities and Exchange Commission has sparked positive sentiment. However, uncertainties remain regarding the acceptance of the iShares Bitcoin Trust, as Coinbase is slated to serve as the custodian of the coins. Furthermore, the ongoing conflict between Coinbase and the SEC adds to the regulatory uncertainty surrounding the situation.

Related Readings: Bitcoin Just Gained Over 18% In Seven Days: Whats Happened When This Has Occurred In The Past?

Furthermore, the SECs lawsuit against major exchanges Binance and Coinbase is expected to benefit Bitcoin, as both regulatory agencies recognize Bitcoin as a commodity rather than a security. Consequently, many investors in alternative cryptocurrencies may shift their focus to the perceived safety of Bitcoin. Stacks, which is closely tied to Bitcoins ecosystem and enables the development of decentralized applications (dApps), stands to benefit from this changing investor sentiment.

The expanding Stacks ecosystem is another significant factor contributing to the rise in STX price. Bitflow Finance, a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, recently introduced an sBTC/sBTC stableswap pool, enabling seamless token swaps. This development enhances the utility and adoption of Stacks, ultimately bolstering its positive price performance.

CITD Series: Sarah Breskman Cosme, A Hypnotherapist Journey to the Secrets of the Sphinx "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Her hands were strapped down at her sides so she couldnt fight, but she had no more fight left inside her. It was the 1970s, here in America, and Christie was about to endure one of many electric shock treatments the doctors hoped would cure this young woman of her strange fantasies involving extraterrestrial life and worlds long lost and forgotten. Fast forward to present day, and Christie has finally found her voice, surfacing through past-life regression hypnosis to tell these truths, and reveal the secrets of the ancient Sphinx. Included in this book are fascinating accounts of life on Mars and how this colonization came to a tragic end. Also included are accounts of other clients who have never met, sharing similar stories about the Sphinx and its role in the upcoming Ascension.

If you want to understand the information within the Sphinx, understand that life is just a game, and that this game has been going on for longer than human beings can fully comprehend in the aspect of time. We have consistently created new realms and new planets and have consecutively inhabited them. In each furtherment there is something new to be learned and uncovered that furthers us. The truth of existence is that we are ALL part of this ancient grouping of beings that have traveled from planet to planet to see what the next and the next will bring, so that we may never stop evolving.

Watch How a Polar Bear Delicately Crosses Thin Ice Without Breaking It

three screenshots of video showing polar bear spreading legs to cross thin ice

Photo: Screenshot from Reddit

As fun as ice skating can be, the key to doing it safely relies on the thickness of the ice. That's why cities will measure the ice to make sure that it's safe for the community to skate on.  But this isn't limited to humans; polar bears are also aware of the dangers. An enlightening viral video shows what a polar bear does to get to the other side of a frozen body of water without falling through thin ice.

No matter how much polar bears thrive in freezing environments, falling into frigid waters is not a pleasant experience. But when conditions seem dangerous, the creatures have to use their smarts to safely cross. That's why, as this video reveals, instead of giving up and turning back, the polar bear distributes its weight to avoid breaking the ice. It spreads its limbs and crawls until it's safe to walk on all fours again.

The principle even has its own equation: pressure equals force divided by area (P= F/A). In other words, pressure is directly proportional to force, but inversely proportional to area. As @Rainmaker1973 explains on Twitter, This bear spotted crawling instead of walking on ice possibly learned that maximizing A and therefore reducing P, increases the chances to safely reach the snow.

As much as this video demonstrates the cleverness of polar bears, it also brings another issue to mind. The climate crisis threats the arctic landscapes these creatures call home. While it's not immediately clear if the ice this particular bear is crossing has been thinned by the change of seasons or as a direct effect of climate change, it paints a clear example of the dangers fauna may face

BUSD Market Cap Plunge Of 80% Raises Concerns Of Impending Collapse "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The fate of Binance USD (BUSD), the stablecoin introduced by Binance, hangs in the balance as its market capitalization has experienced a significant decline of over 80% in 2023.

From November 2022 to June of the current year, BUSDs market capitalization has plummeted from USD23 billion to USD4 billion. Notably, the capitalization suffered an 18% loss in May alone, as reported by CCData, an analysis company.

TrueUSD (TUSD) Gains Traction As BUSD Market Cap Declines

As the market capitalization of BUSD continues to decline and reach a critical level, representing less than 5% of the overall stablecoin market capitalization, Binance has begun actively promoting the adoption of TrueUSD (TUSD).

While TUSDs market capitalization still falls slightly below that of BUSD, currently standing at over USD3.1 billion, it has surpassed BUSD in terms of trading volumes. According to data provided by CCData, the trading volumes of TUSD have tripled, indicating a growing interest and usage of the stablecoin.

Related Reading: Mask Foundation Moves 2.5 Million Tokens To Exchanges, Huge Dip Incoming?

TrueUSD (TUSD), introduced in 2017 by TrustToken, has emerged as the fifth-largest stablecoin in the market, trailing closely behind BUSD. Functioning as an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token, TUSD secures its value with dollar reserves deposited in multiple US-based banking entities. The company behind TUSD ensures a 1:1 convertibility with the US currency, instilling confidence in its stability and reliability among users.

As BUSDs market capitalization experiences a significant decline, the growing popularity and trading volumes of TUSD serve as a testament to the increasing demand for an alternative stablecoin option. Also, Binances shift towards promoting TUSD suggests a strategic response to the changing landscape of stablecoin usage and market dynamics.

TUSD has been gaining rapidly on BUSD in recent months

The steep decline in BUSDs market capitalization can be attributed to its impending discontinuation. In February 2023, NewsBTC reported that Paxos would cease issuing the BUSD stablecoin due to an ongoing lawsuit filed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commi...

DNA Study Reveals New Insight About Balto, the Legendary Sled Dog

Photo of Balto the Sled Dog

There are few dogs who can claim the same legendary status as Balto. As a member of a historic 1925 sled dog expedition, he helped deliver medicine to combat diphtheria, traveling all the way from Anchorage to the small town of Nomea total of over 600 miles. Although there were over 150 other dogs involved in the life-saving dispatch, Balto's name is the only one that has lived on, as he was the leader during the last 53 miles. Now, scientists are delving back into the past to uncover possible reasons for his incredible athleticism.

When Balto died in 1933, his remains were taxidermied and donated to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This decision made it possible for researchers to examine his DNA and learn more about his genetic makeup and compare it to modern sled dogs. And while the eponymous 1995 animated film promoted the idea that Balto was half-wolf, his genes reveal that he was a 100% domesticated dog. His DNA was analyzed with 135 different breeds, ultimately revealing that the heroic pup was related to Siberian husky and sled dogs from Alaska and Greenland. Three breeds that are well adapted for life in the snow.

In addition to analyzing Balto's DNA with other dogs, it was also compared with 240 other mammals to help identify which DNA fragments have not changed over millions of years. Due to their longevity over so centuries, those fragments are considered essential and stable, while mutations are potentially dangerous. As it happened, Balto's genetics showed that his DNA was more stable than modern breeds of dogs, suggesting that he was healthier. Balto had variants in genes related to things like weight, coordination, joint formation, and skin thickness, which you would expect for a dog bred to run in that environment, one of the scientists, Katherine Moon, says.

Whatever his secret was, Balto helped save many young people's lives, s...

Is Bitcoin Evolving Beyond Its Use As A Store Of Value? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Paolo Tasca, a professor, economist and founder of the University College Londons Centre For Blockchain Technologies and the Distributed Ledger Technology Science Foundation.

Bitcoin has held its place as the preeminent digital, robust and unhackable store of value for nearly a decade. Yet, every year, the debate continues about whether bitcoin should evolve to become something more. Can digital gold also be the worlds currency? Could Bitcoins blockchain be used to register assets of value? Should it?

This conversation has peaked with the launch of Bitcoin Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens, driving even more demand to the Bitcoin blockchain. And understandably so Bitcoins peerless security and stability made it known as the blockchain of value. Now that it is possible to store a growing range of assets there, people want to. This is welcome news for the store-of-value proponents, as demand for bitcoin should drive up the price.

But more transactions also mean more competition, and if you want your transaction to go through, that means more fees and longer confirmation times. This is not ideal for the supporters that prefer bitcoin as a currency and the growing competition for block space is already affecting the ability to register assets.

The Economists Evolutionary Theory

This dilemma isnt new for Bitcoin. Its intentional restriction of the block size and transaction capacity has pioneered great tech, like the Lightning Network, and instigated debates over adopting colored coins, SegWit and other Core changes.

And Bitcoin is not an exception. When other blockchains came into the market, their ability to handle ERC-20 tokens, NFTs and other operations restricted their popularity. Ethereum was faced with similar limitations, but somewhat resolved them with technical upgrades. However, this led DApps to find shelter in alternative chains. This led to severe interoperability issues, but the economists "evolutionary theory" held true: The market moves in the direction of maximum opportunity.

Looking from an economist's perspective, it's crucial to note that bitcoin's utility as a store of value is still not widely adopted beyond our sector. During the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, we were curious to see how the crisis (the very kind that Bitcoin was designed for) would stimulate demand for the cryptocurrency. What surfaced inst...

Conducting family research can be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack and thats why a lot of family lore and legend is passed down the old-fashioned way: through stories about ancestors.

And today were going to get a bunch of interesting family history stories from folks on AskReddit.

Check out these tales and see what you think.

A fascinating, terrifying life.

My grandfather was born in Poland.

He was around 16 when the wars broke out, and because he was a fit, healthy, blonde haired, blue eyed farmer boy, he was sent to work in German farms. Before that though, he was put into a concentration camp while they figured out where to send all their new slaves.

During this time, his older brother actually escaped. My grandfather says he stole a gun climbed the fence, tanked the cuts from the barbed wire, and just ran. He made the escape with a few other people, but all but two of them were killed. My grandfather was supposed to join them, but he said he just froze and chickened out. His brother later joined some battallion, where he later died fighting nazis.

My grandfather was eventually moved to a small town in Germany, and was housed with landowners who grew some sort of crop. He was set to work.

This small town was actually secretly against the war though, and the family he stayed with used their house as a saf...

Litecoin (LTC) Bulls Charge Past $91 Following 20% Rally "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Litecoin (LTC) has recently witnessed an impressive three-day bullish streak, sparking excitement among investors as its price surged past the $91 level. The cryptocurrencys remarkable performance during this period has been celebrated by bullish traders who see it as a significant victory.

With this surge, Litecoin has caught the attention of market participants, generating renewed interest in its potential and signaling a potential shift in the broader cryptocurrency landscape.

The remarkable growth of Litecoin in such a short span of time has rekindled optimism among cryptocurrency enthusiasts, who are closely monitoring its progress.

Litcoin (LTC) Breaks Past Recent Lows

LTC has defied expectations with a notable 6.1% rally in the past 24 hours, and shooting up to the $91.35 level, as reported by CoinGecko. This upward movement comes as a pleasant surprise for investors and traders who had concerns about LTCs descent to the March low of $72 on June 14.

The drop to this critical level sparked fears of a potential downward spiral for Litecoin. However, to the relief of bullish market participants, the strong buying pressure at the $72 support level proved resilient and initiated a mild price rally.

The recent surge in LTCs price not only demonstrates the cryptocurrencys ability to rebound from critical levels but also solidifies the positive momentum it has gained over the last seven days. During this period, Litecoin experienced a nearly 20% climb.

Meanwhile, an...

Following this launch, GODS, the native token of the Gods Unchained ecosystem, has rallied 50% from June 2023 lows, expanding in line with the broader cryptocurrency markets spearheaded by Bitcoin, which is currently trading above $31,000.

Gods Unchained launches on Epic Games Store

The game recently announced its debut on Epic Games Store, a digital gaming distribution platform with over 230 million PC gamers, including a community of digital trading card enthusiasts.

As one of the original web3 games, Gods Unchained has been at the forefront of decentralized gaming. Now, intending to attract more mainstream trading card game and strategy gamers, Gods Unchained is undergoing an update, with an updated logo and updated visuals across different points, which would launch with the Epic Games Store release.

The PC game also teased a mobile-friendly design focused on onboarding new users. In a comment about the launch Daniel Paez, the executive producer of Gods Unchained, said EGS will introduce the web3 game to a massive audience of traditional PC gamers and TCG enthusiasts.

Blockchain gaming, NFT activity recovering

The deployment on EGS is timely. Specifically, it is when the cryptocurrency market is recovering after months of lower lows in 2022. During the last bear cycle, cryptocurrency prices crashed from 2021 peaks, impacting activity. Out of this, there was a significant contraction in non-fungible tokens (NFT) activity, which translated to low activity.

In the Gods Unchained blockchain games, all trading cards are represented as unique NFTs. These represent ownership and can be transferred between users, even exchanged for cash or other cryptocurrencies. Since trading cards vary in rarity, the value assigned to each can change.

According to DappRadar, unique active wallets (UAWs) remain stable at around 1,150 but lower than 2021 peaks when it spiked to over 4,000. At the same time, Gods Unchained generated over $745,000 in active transaction values.

At the moment, GODS, the native token of the Gods Unchained game, is rising in sync with the broader cryptocurrency market. GODS is trading at $0.16, up 50% from June lows. GODSUSDT Candlestick arrangement shows that the token is bottoming up after dropping 75% from February 2023 highs.

TV Series Worst Finale What TV Series Had the Worst Finale? People Shared Their Thoughts.

Some TV shows run out of steam and cant come up with a good finale and other shows just botch it for some reason.

We hear a lot about the iconic finales of TV shows, but what about the bad ones?

Check out the TV finales that AskReddit users were definitely not into.

A famous show in Spain.

There was a once pretty famous Spanish TV sitcom called Los Serrano, about a Spanish family and it ran for 5 years, they basically turned the plot into a s**tshow with the wife of the protagonist d**ng, two of his children involved in in**st and the other ending up in juvie.

Pretty dark stuff for a comical sitcom. In the final episode the father went to end his life and when he does it he just wakes up as if nothing happened (nothing as in, the actual whole 8 seasons), it was just a dream.

Bitcoin Just Gained Over 18% In Seven Days: Whats Happened When This Has Occurred In The Past? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

By the completion of its daily candle on Wednesday, Bitcoin had gained over 18% in just seven consecutive sessions, abruptly ending the steady drift lower which had dominated its price action since Bitcoin put in its mid-April high above 30,000. How unusual is this magnitude gain in only a weeks time, and whats happened in the past after similarly robust rallies? Lets take a closer look at Bitcoins price history to find out.

Bitcoins Price History Suggests Higher Prices Ahead

As we examine Bitcoins price history for which there is reliable data (2011 to the present), the number one cryptocurrency by market cap has experienced numerous instances of gains greater than or equal to +18% over the span of seven days.

Bitcoin gains >= 18% in Seven Days | BTCUSD on TradingView.com Because the number of occurrences will vary depending on holding time, well start by listing the number of times this has happened next to our hypothetical hold times of 7 days through 90 days. Holding time is defined as the amount of time one held Bitcoin before exiting. For example, if one hypothetically purchased Bitcoin following the trigger event (i.e., +18% over the span of seven days) and sold it 30 days later, this would be a holding time of 30 days.

Bitcoin Occurrences of +18% Gains in Seven Consecutive Days by Holding Time (2011 Present)

  • 98 occurrences using a 7-day hold time
  • 73 occurrences using a 15-day hold time
  • 57 occurrences using a 30-day hold time
  • 30 occurrences using a 90-day hold time

Clearly, gains of this magnitude in just a weeks time are not uncommon for Bitcoin, an asset with numerous instances of large price advances especially when considering its relatively short price history compared to traditional risk assets.

Bitcoin Results Slightly Less Bullish In Recent Years

While a gain of over 18% in such a brief time period may lead some traders to lean bearish, the data suggests otherwise, with historical average results clearl...

Mask Foundation Moves 2.5 Million Tokens To Exchanges, Huge Dip Incoming? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In the volatile and unpredictable world of cryptocurrencies, major transactions often signal impending market movements. Recently, Lookonchain, an on-chain analytics firm, reported a substantial transfer of MASK tokens, initiated by the Mask Network Foundation.

At the time of writing, the token was trading at $3.69, following a decline of over 2.5% over the past 24 hours. The noteworthy shift of 2.5 million MASK tokens, equating to over $9 million, could potentially trigger further price variations.

Crypto Analyst Predicts: Bitcoin (BTC) To Reach $69,000 And Above In 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

As the world of crypto continues to evolve, traders and analysts are closely monitoring the Bitcoin (BTC) charts for clues about future price movements. Among them, the popular analyst known as Credible Crypto has shared his insights, predicting a new all-time high for Bitcoin by 2023.

The prognosis relies on the assumption of a continuing parabolic advance that could drive the token beyond its previous peak of $69,000.

Predicting A Parabolic Advance For Bitcoin

The essence of Credible Cryptos prediction lies in the nature of Bitcoins parabolic advance. This concept describes a situation where momentum in the price of an asset increases exponentially until it reaches its peak.

According to Credible Crypto, such advances have been evident in Bitcoins history, as observed during its ascents from $3,000 to $14,000 and from $10,000 to $60,000.

Bitcoins recent performance, characterized by firm support at $25,000 on monthly timeframes, is considered by Credible Crypto as potentially setting the stage for another round of parabolic advance. This new climb, the analyst suggests, should produce monthly moves of more than $10,000, filling the $40,000 gap to the previous all-time high.

Analysis from Credible Crypto on Twitter

A Logical Guess For New Heights

While cautioning that these are estimations based on current market conditions, the trader puts forth October 2023 as a fairly logical guesstimate for when Bitcoin could reach its new all-time high. He clarifies that its not a definitive prediction, but rather an estimation based on the logic of Bitcoins past behavior.

The analyst noted:

I am not saying we MUST hit new all-time highs...

Road Trip Engage Talk To Me Man Asks if Hes a Jerk for Wanting His Wife to Stay Awake on a Road Trip to Talk to Him

My philosophy has always been that TWO people should stay awake in the car on long road trips just in case something bad happens or the driver starts to doze off.

Safety first, right?

But this guy is in some pretty hot water because he wanted his wife to stay up with him while he drove a long distance on a family road trip.

Was he out of line?

Read his story and see what you think.

AITA for wanting my wife to stay up during a road trip and talk to me?

Im writing this right now at the hotel where Im at because Im genuinely at a loss of words, I dont think Im in the wrong but at the same time, she looks really p**sed at me.

Bitcoin Future Hangs In The Balance: What To Expect In The Coming Weeks "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency by market capitalization, seems to have entered a phase of consolidation above the $30,000 mark following a notable surge of over 10% on Tuesday.

While the price movement has generated a lot of interest among investors, it remains uncertain whether Bitcoin will maintain its upward momentum or experience a pullback in the coming days.

Bitcoin Uncertain Trajectory

Ben Lilly, a well-known cryptocurrency analyst, and economist, recently shared his thoughts on the current state of Bitcoins price action and its potential future trajectory.

In a recent analysis, Lilly dubbed the current price movement the Larry Fink Pump, referencing the recent announcement by BlackRocks CEO Larry Fink regarding the companys increased interest and application for a  Bitcoin spot ETF.

While the pump has caused some excitement among investors, Lilly notes that several factors could cause the rally to falter.

For one, Bitcoin has already wiped out the remaining high-leverage liquidity to the upside, and the Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) spot seems to have lost its short-lived trend already.

Additionally, the fuel meter discussed in a recent Alpha Bites episode by Benjamin Skew of Jarvis Labs LLC has dropped significantly from its pre-pump levels, which could indicate a bearish case for Bitcoin in the short term.

Despite these potential bearish factors, Lilly remains optimistic about Bitcoins future. He notes that the $24,000 level is still sitting there and could be had if the price breaks the 200-day moving average, which is currently creeping above it. If this happens, he predicts that Bitcoin could drop to $21,000-$22,000.

However, Lilly also sees the possibility of an upside scenario for BTC. He notes that low-leverage liquidity sits at $32,000, and he would love to see it taken out.

Looking at the returns by trading session, he points out that the New York session seems to be leading the way. He notes that when the trend of the New York session ends, theres a bit of a lag before the price responds to the downside, suggesting that the June options max pain of $25,000 may not happen.

Lilly also highlights the recent increase in the whale holding chart, as seen in the chart below, which indicates that large Bitcoin holders, commonly referred to as whales, are once again accumulating the cryptocurrency.

LEO Token Shows Positive Moves As Major Coins Suffer Volatility "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitfinexs utility token, LEO, stands out from the crowd with positive moves amid the market-wide downturn that suppressed most coins. It saw an 8.69% price increase on the day and added 11.42% over the past seven days, which placed it among the top-gaining coins on the last day.

LEO tokens move today follows a consistent price increase since June 20, after Bitfinex announced a public grant to support the open-source development of Qubes OS in partnership with Tether, USDT stablecoin issuer.

LEO Outperforms Top Coins With Recent Action

LEOs value did not only strengthen against the dollar but outperformed the two market forerunners, Bitcoin and Ethereum, in terms of 24-hour price change. At the time of writing, LEO is up 9% against Bitcoin and nearly 8% against Ethereum. The bullish momentum presented in LEOs price movement suggests a move to conquer the $4 psychological level.

The tokens price stalled at the consolidation channel between $3.51 and $3.6 over the past weeks. But currently, LEO is trading at a low of $3.63 and a high of $3.93. Also, its bull-bear power is neutral, indicating a fierce struggle to prevail between the bears and the bulls as the histogram bars show long green candle stick patterns.

Notably, the token has bounced off the 200 Exponential Moving Average, indicating a golden cross, meaning LEO is witnessing an upward trend due to a strong buying interest. It also suggests the bulls are in action to trigger a further uptrend.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has exceeded 78, meaning the asset is leaving the overbought territory. This move indicates that LEOs price is approaching a swing rejection where it could break its last record high.

Pixars Latest Short Carls Date Brings Back Two Beloved Characters From the Movie Up

As the star of one of the most affecting love stories in film history, Carl Fredricksen from Up (2009) quickly became one of Pixar's most beloved characters. Now, 14 years after the release of the original movie, the animated elderly man is coming back for Carl's Date, Pixar's latest animated short.

Not only is Fredricksen making a return, but the new short sees him reunited with Dug, the quirky Golden retriever who also starred in Up. The original film saw Carl going on the adventure of a lifetime to pay tribute to his late wife. Now, the widower is back in the world of dating as a senior, leading to some adorable moments.

Pixar shared a trailer for Carl's Date, which sees the title character telling Dug that he has been asked out on a datesomething he doesn't know how to do. Querying Dug about whether the chocolate boxes he got are fun, the clip builds up excitement to see these great characters once again.

Carl's Date was directed by Bob Peterson, who co-wrote and co-directed Up, as well as voicing Dug in both productions. Ed Asner, who voices Carl, passed away in 2021. As such, Carl's Date is one of his final works, along with some other Disney+ projects, like the series of shorts Dug Days and the film adaptation of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.

If you want to see Carl's Date, you'll have to make your way to a movie theater. As has become custom with Pixar theatrical releases, Carl's Date will play before showings of the new film Elemental, which opened on June 16.

Bitcoin SOPR Bounces Into Profit Zone, What Does This Mean? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows the Bitcoin Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR) has bounced back into the profit zone with the latest rally above $30,000.

Bitcoin SOPR Has Successfully Retested 1.0 Support Line

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, investors are now selling their coins at a profit. The SOPR is an indicator that tells us whether profit-taking or loss-taking is dominant in the Bitcoin market currently.

When the value of this metric is greater than 1.0, it means that the profits being realized by the investors are higher than the losses currently. On the other hand, the values of the indicator under this mark suggest the market as a whole is moving/selling coins at a loss.

The SOPR being exactly equal to 1.0 naturally suggests that the average investor is just breaking even on their selling at the moment, as the total amount of profits being harvested in the market is equal to the losses.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin SOPR over the past year:

Bitcoin SOPR

entity-adjusted one, meaning that it only takes into account the transactions made between separate entities on the network and not all individual wallets.

An entity here refers to a single address or a collection of addresses that Glassnode has determined to belong to the same investor. As transfers where a holder moves coins to a different wallet of theirs arent actually sales at all, they arent relevant to the SOPR, and so, removing them from the data makes the indicator more accurate.

As you can see in the above graph, the entity-adjusted SOPR has been mostly at values above 1.0 during the last few months, a trend that makes sense as the asset has observed a rally in this period, which is bound to have put investors into notable profits.

Back in March, however, the indicator had deviated away from this profit-taking trend, as the Bitcoin price had taken a significant hit. This deviation didnt last for too long, though, as the metric returned to values above 1.0 as the rally resumed.

Historically, the transition line between these two zones, that is, the 1.0 level, has had an interesting relationship with the price. During bearish trends, this line has proved to be a resistance point for the coin, while...

Ireland Is Offering $92,000 For People to Move to Its Remote Islands

Ireland is Paying People to Move to Remote Islands

Photo: GiorgioMagini/Depositphotos

Looking for a way to escape the city? For those interested in moving to a quiet island with stunning views, Ireland is offering a unique opportunity. In an effort to revitalize about 30 remote islands off of the country's coast, the Irish government is providing grants worth up to $92,000 for people to relocate there.

Currently, these secluded islands have less than 3,000 inhabitants altogether, with some places having only two permanent residents. These islands are mostly cut off from the rest of the country and have undeveloped infrastructure. The government's new plan, called Our Living Islands, lays out a 10-year national policy that is seeking to bring more capital investment to these areas so that they can become sustainable, vibrant communities.

Part of this policy includes attracting more people to relocate to these islands. An ongoing concern for island communities both nationally and internationally is to maintain the population levels of their islands, the plan notes. Island communities generally have a higher than average age profile, as many young adults leave the islands to avail of further education or employment opportunities elsewhere.

So, as a way of encouraging people to move to these remote locations, Ireland is giving out grants that are worth up to $92,000. These funds are meant for renovating the old, derelict buildings already there. Furthermore, the property has to have been built prior to 2008 and vacant for two years, and the grant recipients are expected to either become permanent residents of the island or rent the renovated house out.

There are no residency requirements for purchasing properties in Ireland, meaning Americans and anyone from a different country can apply for this grant. You can take a look at the application form ...

5 Free Online Pixel Art Makers That Will Help You Create 8-Bit Masterpieces

2D Pixel Art

The options for digital art are endless. As technology advances, there are seemingly no limitations. You can pick and choose your toolsand, most importantly, what you'd like to create. Some folks, for instance, love a retro aesthetic. In that case, pixel art is appealing. If you love the blockiness in this type of art, then its time to give it a try. Its now easier than ever with online pixel art makers.

Pixel art makers are digital tools that allow you to create artwork using individual pixels as the fundamental building block. You work within a grid system, where a square represents a single pixel. This sounds meticulous because it is meticulous. But working block by block gives you complete control over the design.

The best of these tools are crafted so anyone can use them, whether a beginner or a pro. They provided a range of drawing tools and color palettes, making the blank canvas ripe with possibilities. Most importantly, pixel art makers give you the ability to see each block and zoom in and out. This allows for creating intricate details and seeing an overview of the art. It's vitalespecially if youre working on a small scale. Some characteristics might be lost or obscured without that ability.

Get started creating 8-bit art when you try one of these free online makers.

Simply 27 things about Britain that really baffle anyone whos not from Britain "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Heres one of those questions that never fails to generate a whole help of funny (and totally on-point) answers.

Its the time TIGHazard asked this over in the corner of Reddit called, appropriately enough, AskReddit.

Non-British people of Reddit, what about Britain baffles you?

And it prompted no end of very funny and entirely relatable answers, even if you are from Britain. Here are our 27 favourites.

1.

The question you alright? is not actually them asking if youre okay.
drugwitch

2.

So many accents. People 15 minutes away having another accent.
fhfuudjdfhh

3.

That people are more polite when they dislike you.
metaldark

4.

That everything is pudding.

5.

That Piers Morgan is still on television.
TomFazio

6.

That the only people Ive met that are obsessed with British royalty havent been British.
Xcizer

7.

Why is it standard to have the clothes washer in the kitchen, and why arent clothes dryers something everyone owns??
xowildrose

8.

Britain is the only country to perform better during World Wars than in a snowstorm.
zBaer

9.

I am French and have been living in London for a year.

What struck me the most was how friendly pubs were. If I go out in a bar on my own in Paris, I will talk to no one and no one will talk to me. In London, it takes roughly 30 seconds to find some mates to chat with. I loved that
Clemeeent

10.

What baffles me is youll have an absolutely stunning garden and then someone will stick an ugly gnome in it. Why???
StellaJump

11.

Pulling a string cord to switch on the bathrooms light.

12.

The closeness while driving between you, the stone wall/not road and oncoming cars. Im visiting a friend from Canada now and holy shit every time we have to move over for oncoming I think Im gonna die.

13.

Worked for a UK company before. Colleague used to buy a packet of potato chips and add it inside his sandwich.

Fernando Pessoas Unselving "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Pessoa in 1934. From Os Objectos de Fernando Pessoa | Fernando Pessoas Objects by Jernimo Pizarro, Patricio Ferrari, and Antonio Cardiello. Courtesy of the Casa Fernando Pessoa and Dom Quixote.

On July 11, 1903, a long narrative poem called The Miners Song by Karl P. Effield appeared in the Natal Mercury, a weekly newspaper in Durban, South Africa. Effieldwho claimed to be from Bostonwas actually none other than the Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa, then a high school student in Durban. This was the first of Pessoas English-language fictitious authors to appear in printthe beginning of Pessoas unusual mode of self-othering. The adoption of different personae allowed him to go beyond a nom de plume, and take on unpopular, controversial, and even extreme points of view in both his poetry and prose.

While in South Africa, where Pessoa lived between 1896 and 1905, he sent another work to the Natal Mercury under the name of Charles Robert Anon, attempting without success to publish three political sonnets about the Russo-Japanese War of 19041905. Pessoas early fictitious authors wrote in English, French, and Portuguesethe three languages he continued to use until he died, at age forty-seven. These first invented writers, which he would go on to call heteronyms, composed loose texts mostly in the form of first drafts; but others, like Bernardo Soares (whom Pessoa created around 1920) or the major heteronyms (Alberto Caeiro, Alvaro de Campos, and Ricardo Reis in 1914), produced a very solid body of work. By the time Pessoa was twenty-six years old, he had already invented a hundred literary personae.

Alberto Caeiro was the central fictitious figure of Pessoas literary universe. Born in Lisbon on April 16, 1889, Caeiro died of tuberculosis in 1915. Pessoa said that Caeiro poetically arri...

The takedown of this entitled killjoy is a masterclass in restrained fury "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

In the takedown hall of fame this is surely somewhere close to the very top.

Its a fathers response to a killjoy who put paid to the tree house he built for his kids during the pandemic by complaining to their local homeowners association and its a masterclass in restrained fury.

And here are just a few of the responses it prompted after it went viral on Reddit.

Now they well report them for not getting a permit to place that note on the tree.
Borderingzero

Oi, you got a loicense fo that tree soign m8?
MethodicMarshal

Dave, fight back. Dont let the Karen win. Take over the HOA and change the rules. Work from inside the system if you must. Dont let the children down. I really really need to know you didnt let this idiot have her way. Let me know if you need help. Daves of the world UNITE!
pauldeanbumgarner

I started participating in my communities HOA with three of my neighbors after some weird architecture rules they tried to implement(they wanted us to all paint our fences dark brown for some reason).

Come to find out, out of the hundred or so residences only about eight people show up to each meeting making us a good third of the votes. Of those eight two of them were fairly reasonable and one guy proclaims himself a libertarian and votes every new rule down.

With our voting power our fences can now be whatever color, the pool is getting a waterslide, and we made sure instead of making additions to the clubhouse at the pool no one uses the HOA fee now includes sewer and trash in exchange for an additional $5 a month. Plus we upset the brown fence Karens so much they stopped showing up to meetings.

If you cant beat em join em.

How Motherhood Radicalized a Former Los Angeles Libtard | The Glenn Beck Podcast | Ep 189 "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Leftists today hate truth. Bridget Phetasy knows this all too well, and as a California refugee, she has stories. But while her journey from libtard to based has been years in the making, it was motherhood that really radicalized schools hit that much harder. Bridget joins Glenn to discuss just how much has changed since that big milestone in her life, as well as another one: her decision to escape to Texas (which she admits is WAY better). Plus, they wander through an array of funny, tragic, and insightful commentary, from an Uber drivers take on communism to a debate on whether she should teach her daughter how to code or how to prepare for Armageddon. The two also discuss the shocking origins of modern transgenderism in pre-Nazi Germany and why she demands that politicians like President Biden define their own insane terms: What does gender-affirming care really mean? But then again, she might settle for an honest answer to the question, Mr. Biden, do you even know where you are?

Beyond ChatGPT "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Oleg Alexandrov, vector space illustration. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Counterpath Presss series of now thirteen computer-generated books, Using Electricity, offers a refreshing alternative to the fantasia of terror and wonder that weve all been subjected to since the public release of ChatGPT. The books in this series present us with wide-ranging explorations into the potential interplay between human language and code. Although code-based work can be dauntingly hermetic to the noncoder, all computationally generated or mediated writing is the result of two fundamental decisions that remain in the hands of the human author: defining the source text(s) (the data) and choosing the processes (the algorithms or procedures) that operate on them. A text generator like ChatGPT uses brute force on both sidesenormous amounts of text vacuumed from the internet are run through energy-intensive pattern-finding algorithmsto create coherent, normative sentences with an equivocal but authoritative tone. The works in Using Electricity harness data and code to push language into more playful and revealing imaginative territory.

Many of Using Electricitys authors mobilize computational processes to supercharge formal constraints, producing texts that incessantly iterate through variations and permutations. In The Truelist, Nick Montfort, the series editor, runs a short Python script to generate pages of four-line stanzas comprising invented compound words. Now they saw the lovelight, / the blurbird, / the bluewoman facing the horse, / the fireweed. The poem is a relentless looprepeating this same structure as it churns through as many word combinations as it can find. Rafael Prez y Prezs Mexica uses a pared-down, culturally specific vocabulary and a complex algorithm to generate short fairy talelike stories. One begins, The princess woke up while the songs of the birds covered the sky. The skeletal story struc...

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Continues To Rise While Market Sees Correction "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin Cash (BC) has maintained a positive outlook over the past few days as bulls and bears struggle for control over the broader crypto market. Its growth suggests the bulls currently have the upper hand in the altcoin even while the broader crypto market shows a 0.7% decline.

At the time of writing, BCH has added 9.06% to its past-day value changing hands at $143.22. It has also seen a 37.84% gain in seven days and 27.10% in the last 30 days. This bullish momentum allowed the token to secure the top position among the highest-gaining coins in the past 24 hours.

Events Surrounding BCH Price Performance

Whether Bitcoin Cash will sustain the upward trajectory remains uncertain since the crypto market is gradually turning bearish. However, the sentiment remains relatively bullish even though the trading volume has declined significantly.

Right now, institutional interest is still high following the launch of the Wall Street-backed crypto exchange EDX Market. Notably, the exchange listed four tokens, Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash, garnering the attention of crypto investors.

Also, the crypto trading platform derives support from Charles Schwab, a top US-based investment advisor and brokerage firm, Fidelity Investments, and Ken Griffins Citadel Securities.

The exchange also announced new investors, including DV Crypto, GTS, Miami International Holdings, GSR Markets LTD, and HRT Technology. And participants in the space believe the launch of EDX would facilitate institutional investments in crypto.

Bitcoin Cashs price rally stems from EDXs launch as one of the cryptocurrencies listed on the exchange. The Securities and Exchange Commissions view that most Proof-of-Stake network tokens are securities also drew attention to BCH. As such, the token has been rising in the last seven days.

As of Thursday, June 22, Bitcoin Cash closed with a 26.54% price gain after opening the day at $136.31. With the continued momentum, the token now trades at $143.22. Also, the hype around BlackRock, WisdomTree, and Invescos spot BTC ETF application has influenced Bitcoin Cashs price action.

It bears mentioning that the approval of these spot ETF applications could facilitate Bitcoins legitimacy and...

Winners of the 2023 BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition Embrace Our Worlds Biodiversity

Veterinarian snuggling a baby bare-nosed wombat

Nose to Nose by Douglas Gimesy
Human/Nature Winner
Since 2006, developers have constructed dozens of new subdivisions on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia, transforming bushland that once sheltered kangaroos, wombats, flying foxes, and other wildlife into tidy suburban streets. As the built environment encroaches on the wild, a growing number of displaced animals are struck by cars. Those that survive might, if lucky, find themselves in the care of a wildlife rehabilitation shelter like the Joey and Bat Sanctuary near Melbourne.
Photographer Douglas Gimesy was documenting work at the sanctuary last year when he met a bare-nosed wombat (Vombatus ursinus) whose mother had been killed by a car. A good samaritan had thought to check the dead marsupials pouch and found the four-month-old joey inside, still alive.
Gimesy watched a young veterinary student bottle-feed the orphaned wombat. When the feeding was over, the student touched her nose to the joeys in a tender moment of interspecies bonding. Wombats sense of smell rivals that of bloodhounds, and scientists believe that the animals use their sophisticated noses to navigate at night and sniff out the poop of other wombats. Perhaps because her nose is so sensitive, Gimesy said that the baby wombat in this photograph seemed to especially enjoy the sensation of skin-to-skinor nose-to-nosecontact.

Some of the world's top nature conservation photographers came together to judge the California Academy of Sciences renowned BigPicture Photography Competition....

Posterity in this case is not "future generations," but anyone who tries to find the YouTube video, which will surely be taken down soon. Isn't Anne Dachel the GREATEST?

June 22, 2023, Tucker Carlson 6/22/23 Ep. 6

Theres never been a candidate for President the media hated more Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

You thought that title belonged to Donald Trump. Of course, it must. But go check the coverage.

Trump got a gentle scalp massage by comparison when he announced.

When Trump rolled out his presidential campaign in 2015, the New York Times waited until the 17th paragraph of the story to attack him. But as well known as he is, the paper said at the time, Trump is also widely disliked. Then they cited a pool to back it up. That was the attack on Trump.

Eight years later, the Times attacked Bobby Kennedy in the very first sentence of the story. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced a presidential campaign on Wednesday built on re-litigating COVID-19 shutdowns and shaking Americans faith in science.

Shaking Americans faith in science. Imagine if youre an ordinary New York Times subscriber reading that over your pre-war rent controlled duplex on Columbus Avenue.

Youd think Bobby Kennedy just declared war on the Enlightenment. My fellow Americans, I have come to shake your faith in science. Join me as I drag our nation back to the medieval period. Youd be appalled.

CBS News viewers likely were appalled. In its coverage of Kennedys announcement, CBS denounced the candidates views as misleading and dangerous.

The LA Times called him a thr...

Bitcoin Investor Sentiment Suggests BTC Rally Is Far From Over "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p class="p2">Bitcoin has been rallying for the last three days and continues to maintain significant momentum. After the digital asset crossed the $30,000 resistance, there was speculation that bulls have finally run out of steam, so the price was expected to correct downward. However, BTCs current levels combined with the crypto investor sentiment suggest that there could be more runway for the digital asset.</p> <h2 class="p2">Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index Remains Firmly In Greed

Presently, the Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index is at one of the highest levels that it has been in the last year. After a long stretch in the neutral and fear territory, Bitcoin has finally moved back once more into the greed territory, signaling positive sentiment from investors.

The index is currently sitting at a score of 65, continuing Thursdays bullish sentiment. It is now almost 20 points above its last weeks cumulative value of 47 and this shows the genuine jump in investor sentiment going from fearful to greedy.</p> <p><img alt="Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index" class= "alignnone size-medium wp-image-539373 aligncenter" height="224" src= "https://www.newsbtc.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Screenshot-2023-06-23-at-12.47.48-460x224.png" width="460"></p> <p class="p2">The last time that the index was this high was back in April when Bitcoins price broke the $31,000 level for the first time in 2023. So it is possible that the current rally could continue on with time given that the rally that led to BTC climbing above $31,000 in April lasted for about a month.</p> <p class="p2">As of now, the crypto market has been rallying for only about two days, so it is too early for exhaustion on the part of buyers. With more investors feeling greedy and rushing to the market to take advantage of the recovery, they will end up pushing the price even higher.</p> <h2 class="p2">Bitcoin At $35,000 Is Possible</h2> <p class="p2">The crypto market rally is being propelled forward by the entrance of institutional investors into the space.
