Fernando Pessoas Many Personalities "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Pessoa in 1934. From Os Objectos de Fernando Pessoa | Fernando Pessoas Objects by Jernimo Pizarro, Patricio Ferrari, and Antonio Cardiello. Courtesy of the Casa Fernando Pessoa and Dom Quixote.

On July 11, 1903, a long narrative poem called The Miners Song by Karl P. Effield appeared in the Natal Mercury, a weekly newspaper in Durban, South Africa. Effieldwho claimed to be from Bostonwas actually none other than the Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa, then a high school student in Durban. This was the first of Pessoas English-language fictitious authors to appear in printthe beginning of Pessoas unusual mode of self-othering. The adoption of different personae allowed him to go beyond a nom de plume, and take on unpopular, controversial, and even extreme points of view in both his poetry and prose.

While in South Africa, where Pessoa lived between 1896 and 1905, he sent another work to the Natal Mercury under the name of Charles Robert Anon, attempting without success to publish three political sonnets about the Russo-Japanese War of 19041905. Pessoas early fictitious authors wrote in English, French, and Portuguesethe three languages he continued to use until he died, at age forty-seven. These first invented writers, which he would go on to call heteronyms, composed loose texts mostly in the form of first drafts; but others, like Bernardo Soares (whom Pessoa created around 1920) or the major heteronyms (Alberto Caeiro, Alvaro de Campos, and Ricardo Reis in 1914), produced a very solid body of work. By the time Pessoa was twenty-six years old, he had already invented a hundred literary personae.

Alberto Caeiro was the central fictitious figure of Pessoas literary universe. Born in Lisbon on April 16, 1889, Caeiro died of tuberculosis in 1915. Pessoa said that Caeiro poetically arri...

Beyond ChatGPT "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Oleg Alexandrov, vector space illustration. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Counterpath Presss series of now thirteen computer-generated books, Using Electricity, offers a refreshing alternative to the fantasia of terror and wonder that weve all been subjected to since the public release of ChatGPT. The books in this series present us with wide-ranging explorations into the potential interplay between human language and code. Although code-based work can be dauntingly hermetic to the noncoder, all computationally generated or mediated writing is the result of two fundamental decisions that remain in the hands of the human author: defining the source text(s) (the data) and choosing the processes (the algorithms or procedures) that operate on them. A text generator like ChatGPT uses brute force on both sidesenormous amounts of text vacuumed from the internet are run through energy-intensive pattern-finding algorithmsto create coherent, normative sentences with an equivocal but authoritative tone. The works in Using Electricity harness data and code to push language into more playful and revealing imaginative territory.

Many of Using Electricitys authors mobilize computational processes to supercharge formal constraints, producing texts that incessantly iterate through variations and permutations. In The Truelist, Nick Montfort, the series editor, runs a short Python script to generate pages of four-line stanzas comprising invented compound words. Now they saw the lovelight, / the blurbird, / the bluewoman facing the horse, / the fireweed. The poem is a relentless looprepeating this same structure as it churns through as many word combinations as it can find. Rafael Prez y Prezs Mexica uses a pared-down, culturally specific vocabulary and a complex algorithm to generate short fairy talelike stories. One begins, The princess woke up while the songs of the birds covered the sky. The skeletal story struc...

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Continues To Rise While Market Sees Correction "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin Cash (BC) has maintained a positive outlook over the past few days as bulls and bears struggle for control over the broader crypto market. Its growth suggests the bulls currently have the upper hand in the altcoin even while the broader crypto market shows a 0.7% decline.

At the time of writing, BCH has added 9.06% to its past-day value changing hands at $143.22. It has also seen a 37.84% gain in seven days and 27.10% in the last 30 days. This bullish momentum allowed the token to secure the top position among the highest-gaining coins in the past 24 hours.

Events Surrounding BCH Price Performance

Whether Bitcoin Cash will sustain the upward trajectory remains uncertain since the crypto market is gradually turning bearish. However, the sentiment remains relatively bullish even though the trading volume has declined significantly.

Right now, institutional interest is still high following the launch of the Wall Street-backed crypto exchange EDX Market. Notably, the exchange listed four tokens, Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash, garnering the attention of crypto investors.

Also, the crypto trading platform derives support from Charles Schwab, a top US-based investment advisor and brokerage firm, Fidelity Investments, and Ken Griffins Citadel Securities.

The exchange also announced new investors, including DV Crypto, GTS, Miami International Holdings, GSR Markets LTD, and HRT Technology. And participants in the space believe the launch of EDX would facilitate institutional investments in crypto.

Bitcoin Cashs price rally stems from EDXs launch as one of the cryptocurrencies listed on the exchange. The Securities and Exchange Commissions view that most Proof-of-Stake network tokens are securities also drew attention to BCH. As such, the token has been rising in the last seven days.

As of Thursday, June 22, Bitcoin Cash closed with a 26.54% price gain after opening the day at $136.31. With the continued momentum, the token now trades at $143.22. Also, the hype around BlackRock, WisdomTree, and Invescos spot BTC ETF application has influenced Bitcoin Cashs price action.

It bears mentioning that the approval of these spot ETF applications could facilitate Bitcoins legitimacy and...

Veterinarian snuggling a baby bare-nosed wombat

Nose to Nose by Douglas Gimesy
Human/Nature Winner
Since 2006, developers have constructed dozens of new subdivisions on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia, transforming bushland that once sheltered kangaroos, wombats, flying foxes, and other wildlife into tidy suburban streets. As the built environment encroaches on the wild, a growing number of displaced animals are struck by cars. Those that survive might, if lucky, find themselves in the care of a wildlife rehabilitation shelter like the Joey and Bat Sanctuary near Melbourne.
Photographer Douglas Gimesy was documenting work at the sanctuary last year when he met a bare-nosed wombat (Vombatus ursinus) whose mother had been killed by a car. A good samaritan had thought to check the dead marsupials pouch and found the four-month-old joey inside, still alive.
Gimesy watched a young veterinary student bottle-feed the orphaned wombat. When the feeding was over, the student touched her nose to the joeys in a tender moment of interspecies bonding. Wombats sense of smell rivals that of bloodhounds, and scientists believe that the animals use their sophisticated noses to navigate at night and sniff out the poop of other wombats. Perhaps because her nose is so sensitive, Gimesy said that the baby wombat in this photograph seemed to especially enjoy the sensation of skin-to-skinor nose-to-nosecontact.

Some of the world's top nature conservation photographers came together to judge the California Academy of Sciences renowned BigPicture Photography Competition....

Bitcoin Investor Sentiment Suggests BTC Rally Is Far From Over "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p class="p2">Bitcoin has been rallying for the last three days and continues to maintain significant momentum. After the digital asset crossed the $30,000 resistance, there was speculation that bulls have finally run out of steam, so the price was expected to correct downward. However, BTCs current levels combined with the crypto investor sentiment suggest that there could be more runway for the digital asset.</p> <h2 class="p2">Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index Remains Firmly In Greed

Presently, the Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index is at one of the highest levels that it has been in the last year. After a long stretch in the neutral and fear territory, Bitcoin has finally moved back once more into the greed territory, signaling positive sentiment from investors.

The index is currently sitting at a score of 65, continuing Thursdays bullish sentiment. It is now almost 20 points above its last weeks cumulative value of 47 and this shows the genuine jump in investor sentiment going from fearful to greedy.</p> <p><img alt="Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index" class= "alignnone size-medium wp-image-539373 aligncenter" height="224" src= "https://www.newsbtc.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Screenshot-2023-06-23-at-12.47.48-460x224.png" width="460"></p> <p class="p2">The last time that the index was this high was back in April when Bitcoins price broke the $31,000 level for the first time in 2023. So it is possible that the current rally could continue on with time given that the rally that led to BTC climbing above $31,000 in April lasted for about a month.</p> <p class="p2">As of now, the crypto market has been rallying for only about two days, so it is too early for exhaustion on the part of buyers. With more investors feeling greedy and rushing to the market to take advantage of the recovery, they will end up pushing the price even higher.</p> <h2 class="p2">Bitcoin At $35,000 Is Possible</h2> <p class="p2">The crypto market rally is being propelled forward by the entrance of institutional investors into the space. Why You Wont Get A Mosquito Bite At Disney World

Disney World is billed as the happiest place on earth, and if youre someone who loathes scratching mosquito bites in the summer, it could definitely be that spot for you.

While no method of repelling mosquitoes is 100% effective, Disney combines design, architecture, and good old-fashioned spray to keep their little corner of swampy Florida largely free from the annoying pests.

This is largely down to the innovations of MIT engineering expert Major General William Joe Potter. He and Walt Disney met at the 1964 Worlds Fair and got to talking about Potters experience controlling mosquitoes when he served as the governor of the Panama Canal Zone.

Interview: Sophie de Oliveira Barata on The Alternative Limb Project and the Nexus of Art and Medicine "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A woman stands with a prosthetic arm made of clear material and gold

For more than a decade, Sophie de Oliveira Barata has been at the helm of The Alternative Limb Project, a Lewes-based studio that makes custom prosthetics for people with amputated or missing appendages. The designs range from uncannily realistic to fantastic, fairytale-like creations that fall at the intersection of art and medicine, a unique meeting point she discusses in a new interview with Colossal.

Some people have an idea that it will just be exactly the same all the time, and your body is a living organism, which is impossible to replicate. In some ways, its easier to go for an alternative because you havent got to match something thats just changing all the time.

In this conversation, de Oliveira Barata speaks about the young girl who helped inspire the project, how cultural conceptions of physical disability have evolved, and the imaginative, empowering possibilities of alternative limbs.

Review of the Huion Kamvas 13 "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

By Tjeerd Royaards

Kamvas-13-pen-display-01

China-based drawing tablet brand Huion contacted us in May to ask if we would be interested in reviewing one of their products. They sent us their smallest (and most portable) tablet, the Huion Kamvas 13. Ive been testing it for the past month, and in this review I'll share my thoughts. For the sake of full transparency: Huion sent us this tablet at no charge, but we are not influenced in any way as to our review of the product. So youll get my honest thoughts here.

The Kamvas 13 retails (in the Huion online shop) for 207.00. The main competitor would be the Wacom Cintiq. You can still pick up a Wacom 13 for around 200 euro at stores that have it in stock, but it seems its no longer produced by Wacom. Their most modestly priced screen tablet, the Wacom One, starts at 370.

There were two reasons I was really interested in doing this review. Firstly, the first drawing tablet I ever bought, back in 2014, was a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. I was interested to see how this 2023 tablet would compare to one almost a decade older (the Wacom still works and I use it when I travel) and how Huion would compare to Wacom in general. Second, the Huion tablet promises to do away with all the clutter of cables. Anyone owning a Cintiq (or any other drawing tablet that hooks up to your computer) will know the hassle of the 3-in-one cable (power connection, HDMI and USB all need to be connected for the tablet to work). The Huion instead, although it also has the tradition 3-in-1 cable, can be connected with a simple USB-C to USB-C cable. The tablet will run your computers power supply. This is a major improvement, making it way easier to take the tablet with you and draw anywhere.

Theres a growing number of cartoonists that have moved on from drawing tablets, in favor of purchasing an iPad Pro. The reviews I hear are glowing and, although I don't have that much experience working with it myself, it seems to work really well. The only obstacle is the price tag. An iPad Pro starts at 1000, not including pen or stand. Since political cartoonists arent in the top tier of well-compensated artists (most struggle to make a decent living with their drawing), the existence of a 200 euro table that connects to your laptop or your phone with one simple cable could provide a decent alternative. For me, it makes sense. For my work as editor of Cartoon Movement, I...

The Talibans Successful Opium Ban is Bad for Afghans and the World "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Taliban have done it again: implementing a nearly complete ban against cultivation of opium poppy Afghanistans most important agricultural product repeating their similarly successful 2000-2001 prohibition on the crop. But the temptation to view the current ban in an overly positive light as an important global counter-narcotics victory must be avoided. This is particularly true given the state of Afghanistans economy and the countrys humanitarian situation. Indeed, the ban imposes huge economic and humanitarian costs on Afghans and it is likely to further stimulate an outflow of refugees. It may even result in internal challenges for the Taliban itself. And, in the long run, it will not have lasting counter-narcotics benefits within Afghanistan or globally.

Killing Us Softly "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

We have, for quite some time, been exposed to a myriad of silent killers. These are the subtle murderers of both the physical body as well as the spirit.

I used to think most of these killers were unintentional and merely the result of ignorance or a non-existent understanding of the non-material world of spirit. I also felt that science was rather inept in detecting subtle shifts of emotion, such as depression or just not feeling well. All such measurements were simply too nuanced to show up in their metrics. Now I believe a lot of what I am speaking of is intentional. We are intentionally being eliminated or, at the very least, intentionally being made ill. Humanity is purposefully being murdered. Thats a rather radical assumption, eh? Well, lets just put it aside for the moment if this bothers you. I can make a good argument even if you are unwilling to accept that extreme notion. And, as the eminent Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung used to often say to his patients, Well, I could be wrong. There are many obvious things out in the world that are killing us softlyand not all of them so softly. Pollution is a big one; the air we breathe and the water we drink are toxicprobably more toxic than we are led to believe (thats the softly part). Then on the toxic list weve got most of what we eat, the obvious being fast food, the not so obvious being processed food, and the really soft culprit being GMO. There are more obvious killers out there as well, I just dont have the space to include all of them. Some of the more not so obvious things, which some of you may have issue with, are things like 5G, and really any EMF pollution, which even includes radio waves. Most medicine is toxic, doctors themselves can be quite toxic and guilty of killing us softly,...

Monkey Virus DNA Found in COVID-19 Shots "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The COVID-19 shots are turning out to be more of a time bomb than ever imagined. This new discovery of the presence of monkey virus DNA, including tumor-linked viral promoters, in the jabs has this microbiologist and immunologist calling for an immediate halt in the use of mRNA vaccines.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Microbiologist Kevin McKernana former researcher and team leader for the MIT Human Genome Projecthas discovered massive DNA contamination in the mRNA COVID-19 shots, including simian virus 40 (SV40) promoters.
  • SV40 has been linked to cancer in humans, including mesotheliomas, lymphomas, and cancers of the brain and bone. In 2002, the Lancet published evidence linking polio vaccines contaminated with SV40 to Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. According to the authors, the vaccine may be responsible for up to 50 percent of the 55,000 Non-Hodgkins lymphoma cases diagnosed each year.
  • The level of contamination varies depending on the platform used to measure it, but no matter which method is used, the level of DNA contamination is significantly higher than the regulatory limits in both Europe and the United States. The highest level of DNA contamination found was 30 percent.
  • The finding of DNA means the mRNA COVID-19 shots may have the ability to alter the human genome.
  • Even if genetic modification does not occur, the fact that youre getting foreign DNA into your cells poses a risk in and of itself. Partial expression could occur, or it might interfere with other transcription translations that are already in the cell. Cytoplasmic tra...

Is Chainlink The Most Undervalued Altcoin? Its Do Or Die For LINK "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Chainlink (LINK) is one of the cryptocurrencies that has suffered the most from the weakness of the altcoins. The LINK price has collapsed after 397 days in the range between $9.62 and $5.32, which is an extremely bearish signal.

But the good news is that, after falling below support at $5.32 on 10 June, the bulls have managed to regain the level for the time being. Nevertheless, the Chainlink price is not out of the woods yet. A do-or-die moment could loom within the next few days and weeks.

The renowned crypto analyst @DaanCrypto has pointed this out. Via Twitter, the analyst shared the chart below and explained that LINK could enter Phase C, the spring, within the Wyckoff analysis. For this to happen, however, the range must be held:

$LINK Followed the plan. It deviated below its 400-day range and retook it. Wouldnt expect this to outperform many of the new shiny coins, but the invalidation is clear as day and the risk/reward is solid. Its do or die here, $LINK Marines.

Do-or-die for LINK Chainlink

Dutch analyst Michal van de Poppe believes the current moment offers a great opportunity. On 17 June, he tweeted, The best time to accumulate your altcoins and Chainlink is now. In a recent tweet, he wrote that the thesis is still valid:

Its undervalued and a synonym for the depression on altcoins. The expansion is, most likely, going to come, but it needs to break through $6 in order to make that happen.

Stacks (STX) Succumbs To Market Correction, Slides By 10% In The Last Day "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The crypto market is currently experiencing a general price recorrection, following a strong bullish phase that saw many assets soar to new highs. Stacks (STX), one of the notable performers in recent days, is not left out of the current ebb and flow of the market, with its value experiencing a significant decline in the last few hours.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, STX is down by 10.14% in the last day, representing the biggest loss in the top 100 cryptocurrencies today. However, looking at STXs wider price movement, the ERC-20 tokens present downturn may not present much worry to its investors.

For context, STX has jumped by 44.55% in the last seven days emerging as the second biggest weekly gainer, falling just behind meme season sensation Pepecoin

At the time of writing, Stacks is trading at $0.776, with a 0.96% gain in the last hour. However, additional data from CoinMarketCap shows the tokens daily trading volume is down by 26.41%, falling to a value of $235 million.

Stacks In 2023 So Far

Stacks has been one of the major headliners of 2023, with the token recording a total percentage increase of 290% since the start of the year. Like most cryptocurrencies, Stacks began the year with a slow pace, recording little price gains in January, as its value rose from $0.21 on January 1 to $0.269 by January 31.

In mid-February, STX eventually picked up pace surging by 241% to hit a market price of $0.988 on March 2. However, this positive ascent was soon followed by a significant downtrend, causing the tokens value to plummet as low as $0.575 just one week later.

Thereafter, Stacks resumed its bullish trajectory to hit its highest market price of 2023 thus far, peaking at $1.176 on March 18. Following such price gains, the STX market showed no significant price movement before sliding into a bearish state that lasted for over two months prior to the tokens recent boost in price in the last week.

Future-Proof Inheritance: Why Bitcoin Holds The Keys To My Will "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Konstantin Rabin, a finance and technology writer.

Death is not something that many people like talking about all too much, but it is crucial to sit and have a good think about what will happen to all of your earthly belongings when the inevitable eventually happens.

Despite its importance, a 2021 study found that less than half of all adults in the U.S. have a will set up at all. While many are too scared of thinking about it, a large number of people simply feel that they lack the know-how for setting one up or want to wait until they have children before they feel the need to sort out their afterlives.

Over the last year or so, I decided to have this will discussion with myself, and after much thinking and many hours of research, the answer for the best method of inheritance to establish in my own will seemed obvious: Bitcoin.

As things stand in the world today, you are bound to end up with issues if you dont set up a will. Lets say that you kick the bucket tomorrow without an inheritance plan drawn up. The first thing that might happen is that all of your assets could be frozen until the courts take their sweet time digging through every detail of your estate. This alone can take from several months to several years, depending on where you live and the assets that are in your name. If you were married and died intestate (without a will), your spouse might end up having to find an executor, which often costs a lot of money, and then comes the months of paperwork and infighting with long-lost relatives who might suddenly start showing up at your doorstep. Along with all of this drama could come the taxman, ready to act as the grim reaper of the assets you leave behind, often taking huge percentages of your life savings.

With all this in mind, setting up your will with BTC can solve many problems for those who you leave behind in the land of the living. I will be going through some of my thoughts on this and explaining exactly why I have decided to set up my will with Bitcoin.

Advantages Of Bitcoin Over Traditional Assets

To me, it all came down to two aspects, with the first being accessibility. With physical assets, you end up having to do more than just paperwork when passing on your property after death. Whether it is gold bars, a cellar of investment-grade whisky or expensive paintings, there is a certain level of expertise needed to move these items from one place to the next and then to look after them properly.

Bitcoin solves this for me. Here you have an asset that doesnt need anything other than a 256-bit long combination to be accessed globally, without your next of kin having to wait months to gai...

Breaking Through This Ceiling Will Propel XRP By Another 12% "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The price of XRP experienced an increase after surpassing the $0.50 mark; however, it has recently undergone a fresh decline. Analyzing the daily chart, the altcoin has depreciated by approximately 3%, whereas the weekly chart shows an appreciation of about 6%.

The technical outlook for XRP indicates a bearish bias due to a decrease in demand and accumulation shown on the chart. Buying strength has weakened following the coins drop below the $0.50 threshold.

As Bitcoin entered the $30,000 price range, other major altcoins also began to appreciate on their respective charts but remained constrained beneath immediate resistance levels. So it is crucial for XRP to surpass the $0.50 mark to enable an upward movement.

Currently, the $0.50 price level acts as a significant barrier that needs to be converted into immediate support. If the altcoin manages to consistently trade above $0.50 for a substantial number of sessions, it may initiate a rally.

The market capitalization of XRP has also declined, indicating a decrease in buying strength.

XRP Price Analysis: One-Day Chart

XRP

Following its failure to maintain a price above $0.50, the altcoin was trading at $0.49. With a small boost from buyers, there is potential for the altcoin to once again surpass the $0.50 threshold.

An important resistance level for XRP is situated at $0.53. If this resistance is overcome, XRP could make an attempt to trade above $0.56, resulting in a significant 12% rally.

Conversely, a decline from the current price level would bring XRP down to $0.47. The volume of XRP traded during the last session was in the red, indicating that selling pressure outweighed buying pressure.

Whatever the case, it sounds like this teenage girl is definitely not feeling it in the babysitting department.

They were always supposed to be one and done with me, something I was aware of was partly due to them finding childcare ridiculously expensive and mom enjoying her job too much to stay home.

I think another part of it they are not very natural parents and are pretty much entirely hands off. We never do anything as a family and they are not very involved in my life. They pay for stuff and that is their contribution to my life.

An Animated Introduction to the Avant-Garde Music of John Cage "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

We all know music when we hear it or at least we think we do but how, exactly, do we define it? Imagine youre in a jazz club, listening to the rhythmic honking of horns, says the narrator of the animated TED-Ed video above. Most people would agree that this is music. But if you were on the highway, hearing the same thing, many would call it noise. Yet the closer we get to the boundary between music and noise, the less clear it gets. The composer John Cage, to whose work this video provides an introduction, spent his long career in those very borderlands: he gleefully dared listeners to question the boundaries between music and noise, as well as sound and silence.

The best-known example of this larger endeavor is 433, Cages 1952 solo piano piece consisting of nothing but musical rests for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. Though known as a silent composition, it actually makes its listeners focus on all the incidental sounds around them: Could the opening and closing of a piano lid be music? What about the click of a stopwatch? The rustling, and perhaps even the complaining, of a crowd?

Bitcoin Price Hitting A Yearly High Today? What Matters Today "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Bitcoin price has rallied fast in the past few days as a result of the BlackRock news. The big question is whether the bulls can continue to push the price upwards, or whether they are slowly running out of steam. With this in mind, there is currently a striking similarity in the 1-day chart of BTC to the rally in mid-March 2023.

Back then, the BTC price experienced a setback of over 22% after reaching a one-year high at $25,200. News from the macro and crypto environment were extremely bearish after USDC lost its peg to the US dollar and a renewed banking crisis loomed. However, as a result of rumors of a Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) bailout, BTC kicked off a 46% surge. Remarkably, this occurred in a double-pump with a one-day breather.

Bitcoin price

Fast-forward to today, Bitcoin may be in that position again. As the Bitcoin price dipped below $25,000 on June 14, the news were ultra bearish (Tether FUD, SEC lawsuits, and more). Once again, however, BTC was saved by bullish news: BlackRocks filing for a Bitcoin spot ETF.

Since the news, BTC has risen by over 20%. Yesterday, the price took a breather. The million-dollar question: Will the second part of the pump come today, as in March, or has Bitcoin already experienced the double pump (see yellow circles). In this case, June 18 could have been the equivalent to the one-day breather of the March rally.

PEPE Leapfrogs With 72% Rally Whats Behind The Surprise Vigor? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepe Coin (PEPE), the once-heralded meme coin that rode the waves of exhilarating hype, is making a remarkable comeback after a period of stagnation.

As the frenzy surrounding meme coins gradually dissipated, PEPE experienced a significant loss in value, leaving investors and enthusiasts uncertain about its future.

However, recent data analysis has shed light on a fascinating trend the resurrection of PEPE. Notably, the tokens resurgence is not merely a coincidence; it can be attributed to a surge in buying pressure.

But what does this renewed interest in PEPE mean for its future?

PEPE Demonstrates Promising Market Dynamics

PEPE, currently valued at $0.00000155 according to CoinGecko, has recently witnessed a moderate 2.3% rally within the past day, indicating a potential shift in its market dynamics. However, the most noteworthy development is the remarkable seven-day surge of 71.9%, suggesting a significant resurgence of interest.

Cardano Price Surges Amidst A Thriving Bull Run, How Long Will This Last? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This week, the cryptocurrency market has experienced a remarkable resurgence, resulting in unexpected price surges across numerous coins and tokens. Cardano (ADA) is a notable beneficiary, showcasing a significant price increase over the past three days.

ADAs resurgence exemplifies the reversal of sentiment witnessed in the cryptocurrency market, evoking a sense of optimism reminiscent of the levels seen in March 2023.

ADAs value has surged by over 20% since reaching a low point on Monday, propelling its trading price just above $0.30.

Furthermore, Cardano has surpassed a key indicator, the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA), widely used to assess a tokens short-term trend.

This breakthrough is a milestone for Cardano, indicating the potential for a substantial shift in investor sentiment and paving the way for potential robust upward momentum.

Cardano Price Surge Amidst Market Dynamics

The recent upward trajectory of Cardano (ADA) can be attributed to external factors rather than token-specific developments or fundamentals.

For example, the rising number of ADA wallets, as indicated by data from Cardano Blockchain Insights since late May, has not yet had an immediate impact on the tokens price.

Interestingly, the current market dynamics are intertwined with a notable surge in institutional interest in Bitcoin (BTC).

Last week, this heightened interest was exemplified by BlackRocks application to launch the first United States spot BTC exchange-traded fund (ETF).

As a result, Cardanos recent rise can be seen as part of a broader market trend driven by institutional attention focused on Bitcoin.

Monitoring how these external market events influence Cardanos price and whether further developments within the crypto ecosystem will contribute to its future growth and performance is crucial.

A Closer Look At Future Potential

At 5:03 p.m., Cardano (ADA) is trading at $0.29, representing a 2.67% price change within the last 24 hours. This recent movement has propelled Cardanos market capitalization to approximately $10 billion. Noteworthy is the 18.19% profit Cardano has experienced since the beginning of this year.

75% Of Bitcoin Holders At Spot Rates Are Making Money: Data "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data from IntoTheBlock reveals that over 75% of all Bitcoin holders are in the money at spot rates when the prices are at multi-week highs, trading at around $30,000 as of writing on June 22. Bitcoin has been on a firm uptrend over the past few trading days, propelled by supportive fundamentals.

The worlds most valuable cryptocurrency is now up roughly 22% from June 2023 and is trending above crucial resistance levels, now support. At this pace, proponents expect the coin not only to continue edging higher but break above April highs and print new 2023 highs in continuation of the bullish trend of the March to April 2023 trade range.

75% Of Bitcoin Holders Are In Green

At spot rates, IntoTheBlock data shows that 75% of all BTC holders are in the money while a paltry 3% are at break even. This means these holders are not in red or green but are steady without posting any capital gains.

Meanwhile, despite rapid gains in the past trading week, 22% of all BTC holders are losing money. There is a high possibility that these individuals bought their coins at recent cyclic tops, and considering the sharp drops in the past few weeks, they are still struggling to break even and are far from making profits.

As an illustration, while Bitcoin is at around $30,000, BTC crashed from April 2023 highs of approximately $31,000 to $24,800, a 20% drop. This followed an encouraging surge from mid-March when BTC prices rallied from $19,700 to register new 2023 highs in April, surging 56%.

Bitcoin price on June 22| Source: BTCUSDT On Binance, TradingView

Notably, even at the current formation, bulls are expecting a resumption of this solid trend and a possible break above $31,000 in continuation of Q1 2023 performance. At that time, the uptick followed fears of a system-wide collapse of the banks in the United States.

The collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) impacted Circle, the issuer of USDC, and forced capital to establish coins like Bitcoin. During that time, Binance also said they were converting their $1 billion Industry Recovery Fund to Bitcoin and other assets, including BNB and Ethereum, pumping these coins.

The Bitcoin Run Continues

Bitcoin remains supported primarily because of regulatory factors, including the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reiteration that the coin is the only commodity in the nascent sector. In their legal actions against Binance and Coinbase, the regulator alleged several top-tier altcoins, including Cardanos ADA, as examples of unregistered securities. While these coins fell, capital flowed to Bitcoin, forcing prices h...

Man Asks if Hes Wrong Because His Wife Got Mad at Him About Mothers Day "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Wife Doesnt Like Day Off Card Man Asks if Hes Wrong Because His Wife Got Mad at Him About Mothers Day

Guys, sometimes you just cant get anything right

Does that sound familiar?

You know it does!

And it seems like the guy who wrote the story below is in the dog house because his wife was not pleased with him on Mothers Day.

But was this his fault?

Check out what he had to say

AITA wife doesnt like having the day off or my card?

My wife told me yesterday: All I want for Mothers Day is to have the day completely off. I dont need or want anything else.

I confirmed with her multiple times, and then started planning a day for my two boys and I.

Today comes by, I intercept my oldest son at 7am before he comes into our room. We go downstairs to watch his favorite morning show and to eat breakfast.

The moment I heard my youngest wake up, I got him out of his crib and downstairs.

We finish breakfast, and I have them start working on handmade cards for my wife.

when I hear her get up, we surprise her with the cards from the kids.

Here is where things go wrong.

My wife asks me: Did you write me anything? I told her I was working on it, but wasnt done, I had been busy with the kids and wanted to finish it up. She was not happy.

I quickly finish it up, and sent it to her.

a note on this, Im not a very well spoken person, I have a hard time put...

Cant Stand As An Adult What Did You Enjoy as a Kid but Cant Stand as an Adult? People Shared Their Thoughts.

Life is funny

It seems like one day youre out partying with your friends, staying up until the wee hours, and still managing to get up at the crack of dawn to go to work the next morning.

And then, one day you realize you like to be in bed by 10 pm every night and you avoid loud places as much as possible.

In case youre not catching on, Im describing my life.

And now its time to hear from AskReddit users about what they liked when they were young but cant stand as adults.

Lets take a look.

No fun!

Receving a letter. Now its just bill/taxes/trash.

Receiving mail as a child was exciting! On the contrary, today I spent an hour going though a stack of mail that I let pile up, and shredding about 98% of it.

Its just not the same.

Most of the movies I liked when I was a kid dont hold up as an adult.

Ive stopped revisiting them so I dont spoil the good memories.

No big deal.

My birthday.

Its not that I hate it, its just that I dont care about it anymore.

I also dont care about getting presents. I only do something for myself because my kids get mortified at the thought of me not doing something.

Same here.

Telling The Truth Birthday Father He Embarrassed His Father in Front of His University Friends. Did He Go Too Far?

Sorry, Dad, but Im putting you on blastbecause you deserve it!

That was the mindset of the guy who wrote this story on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page and it sounds like hes having some second thoughts about what he did.

Was he a jerk or justified in his actions?

Check out his story and see what you think.

AITA for telling the truth about my eighteenth birthday and embarrassing my father to his university friends?

So, bluntly, I (20m) was an unwanted child. A whoops pregnancy that my parents were too religious to abort.

As a result, I pretty much raised myself until I was kicked out at eighteen. I wont lie, it hurt being rejected by the people who were supposed to love me, but Im at peace with it.

With that Tragic Backstory TM out of the way, about six months ago, my parents reached out and started by apologizing profusely. I wasnt sure about getting back in contact, but they seemed genuine, so I tentatively went ahead. Things were going well, until invited me to meet up in person:

I showed up at the restaurant expecting a quiet dinner and a heart to heart, instead I found out that my fathers fraternity had rented out the whole d**n place for a twenty five year reunion.

Because were about to hear from AskReddit users who went on the record and held nothing back about whether their spouse or their kids are more important in their lives.

Are you ready for some real talk?

Take a look at what these folks had to say.

Interesting

Ive been married to my wife for 16 years. Weve had 3 children together and we (she) homeschools them. We both are on our first marriage.

Putting your spouse before your children, as a natural byproduct, enhances your childrens lives and enhances the lives of the married couple.

The married couple has a better relationship, thereby every aspect of their lives, that are in their control, is bettered.

The childrens lives are bettered by having a better example of what a healthy relationship looks like and living in a more stable and loving home. The statistics dont lie. Complete nuclear families are basically a cheat code for success in growing children and on into the rest of their lives.

Love your kids more by loving your spouse first.

A disagreement.

  • Bookforum is back through a partnership with the Nation, just six months after it was shuttered following Penske Medias acquisition of Artforum. Answering some preliminary questions about what this means practically, Kate Dwyer reports for the New York Times:

The new Bookforum will still count on ad sales as part of the business model, Sunkara said, but it will have to develop a much larger direct subscription base.

Sunkara dismissed the idea that print magazines particularly niche literary ones are not profitable.

Portrait of the Artist as an Old Man "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The art of Jim Dine, who recently turned 87, is impossible to characterize. He was an instrumental figure in Happenings, a famous Pop Artist, a poet, printmaker, and sculptor. Throughout his career, he has worked in different mediums and painted in different styles, both tightly and loosely, all of which conveys his direct engagement with his art. It is Dines lifelong commitment to using his hands, to drawing and shaping, that separates him from his contemporaries, particularly since he never felt compelled to suppress his love for classical art for exploring contour, volume, and shading.

Starting with his drawings, what I sense in Dines mastery of different materials and processes is a restlessness that has little to do with production and a lot to do with his fierce desire to push beyond his enormous talent. A masterful draughtsman, he is capable of a fluid, easy line to which few of his contemporaries come close. Rather than being content with this skill, Dine has spent his career trying to get out of h...

An Antidote to the Anxiety About Imperfection: Parenting Advice from Mister Rogers "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Its part of being human to fall short of that total acceptance and ultimate understanding and often far short.

An Antidote to the Anxiety About Imperfection: Parenting Advice from Mister Rogers

Being responsible for ourselves, knowing our own wants and meeting them, is difficult enough so difficult that the notion of being responsible for anyone else, knowing anyone elses innermost desires and slaking them, seems like a superhuman feat. And yet the entire history of our species rests upon it the scores of generations of parents who, despite the near-impossibility of getting it right, have raised small defenseless creatures into a capable continuation of the species. This recognition is precisely what made Donald Winnicotts notion of good-enough parenting so revolutionary and so liberating, and what Florida Scott Maxwell held in mind when she considered the most important thing to remember about your mother.

And yet to be a parent is to suffer the ceaseless anxiety of getting it wrong.

A touching antidote to that anxiety comes from Fred Rogers (March 20, 1928February 27, 2003) in Dear Mister Rogers, Does It Ever Rain in Your Neighborhood? (...

4 Basic Structural Systems for Building with Bamboo "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

This article shines a light on four commonly employed structural systems in bamboo construction:

The support system of a post and beam structure is composed of three key elements: vertical posts, horizontal beams, and cross-bracing. The latter helps to triangulate the structure, enhancing its stability against lateral loads such as winds and seismic forces. Usually, round bamboo poles serve as the backbone of these structural systems. The result is a structure that is not only sturdy but also visually appealing.

The process often requires skilled craftsmanship to carve and assemble various types of joints, including fish mouth joints and angle joints.  A simple bolted joint, for instance, can be used in this structural system to alleviate some of the manual labor. When used alongside mortar for grouting, this type of joint has proven to be incredibly strong.

Nowadays, we even see the use of 3D-printed inserts that mimic the function of fish mouths. These inserts can be placed into cleanly...

Communist Russia during the Cold War actually invented politically correct speech. Basically, what you were saying might be truthful but it was politically incorrect. As a result people went to jail and often died there under the harsh conditions of the Gulag or Siberian Salt Mines. Did we learn from history though? No! Apparently the radical left representing a small percentage of the population are not only forcing the masses to accept what they dont want to be a part of, but if you disagree you go to jail!

Innocent but still guilty

In 2012 two Christian men handing out Biblical pamphlets on the outskirts of a Muslim public event were jailed by Minneapolis police for hate speech. Really? All it took was for a No Go Zone Muslim community that does not cooperate with local authorities to call the very authorities they refuse to cooperate with to get people thrown in jail! In Reading, Philadelphia during a Gay Pride Day celebration a man sanding across the street protested by reciting a Bible verse. Oh, cant have that. He was grabbed by the local police, hand cuffed, and thrown in jail! Is there any difference between those police and the Taliban? Do you see a pattern developing here?

Green Bolt of Lightning Captured on Jupiter by NASAs JunoCam "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Lightning on Jupiter Captured by JunoCam

Photo: NASA/JPL-Caltech/SwRI/MSSS, processing by Kevin M. Gill

If you thought lightning on Earth was spectacular, NASA is giving us a glimpse of what it looks like on Jupiter. Thanks to an image taken by JunoCam, we can clearly see a spark of green lightning in the distance. The photo, which was processed by citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill, was taken during Juno's 31st close flyby of Jupiter on Dec. 30, 2020.

So what accounts for the green color? It's what's in the sky. on Earth lightning originates in clouds filled with water, Jupiter's bolts form in clouds containing an ammonia-water solution. And that's not the only difference between lightning on Earth and the Gas Giant. Just as seen in the photo, Jupiter's lightning primarily occurs near its poles. This is in contrast to Earth, where lightning is more frequent by the equator.

Photographs like this are yet another reminder of why NASA's Juno Mission is so special. Originally set to end in 2018, Juno will continue through 2025. During that time, it will continue its study of Jupiter and its moons. And in the next few months, Junos orbits will repeatedly take it close to Jupiter as the spacecraft passes over the giant planets night side. This means that there will be even more opportunities for Juno to photograph more lightning.

Hannah McBrooms Search for Safety "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

This article is part of HyperallergicPride Month series, featuring an interview with a different transgender or nonbinary emerging or mid-career artist every weekday throughout the month of June.

As state governments across the country restrict the rights and freedoms of gender-nonconforming people, St. Louis-based visual artist and trans woman Hannah McBroom has reoriented her practice to explore the concept of safe spaces where she can simply just be. On top of their ongoing fight for freedom, discerning where to find safety is a primary concern for LGBTQIA+ Americans. McBroom notes that even spaces that promote acceptance and provide platforms can be unintentionally reductive, rooting her to her identity rather than her practice. Seeking points of safety amidst her current events, McBroom works to assuage her anxieties through meditative and observational artmaking informed by her surroundings. As a figurative artist with a technical background, McBroom is now utilizing therapeutic rituals to train herself and her practice to embrace the vulnerability, intimacy, and imperfections that mark her journey toward abstraction.

Im letting go of this control and letting the work do its thing, she said, mentioning her perfectionistic tendencies in both art and life. Between the sterile solitude of the doctors office and the greenery of the natural world, McBrooms work structures areas of both physical and emotional refuge...

A waiter's job can be really tiring, so picture having to ride your bike for three hours to get to work on top of that. It sounds gruesome, but that was what a man named Samson Adams had to do to support his family. After learning that the Texas Roadhouse server had been cycling from Livingston County to his workplace in Paducah, Kentucky, some 30 miles away, staff and customers rallied around him to buy him a car.

Adams had been working at the restaurant for the past month, dealing with the strenuous commute under the late spring heat. I had no choice but to use a manual bike, and then that went out, and then God came and blessed me with all this, Adams told WSPD.

After a few weeks, Texas Roadhouse community ambassador Joelle Long and her husband Ryan noticed Adams was tired at work. When they asked him if something was wrong, they both learned his story. I started picking him up. We started talking, said Long. The more I talked to him, the more I get to know him, the more I loved him. The more I felt like this guy really deserves someone to give him a little bit of help.

New LDK Node Library Simplifies Self-Custodial Lightning Nodes For Mobile Apps "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

LDK Node, a new Lightning node library, has been announced, offering developers a simplified and ready-to-go solution for setting up a self-custodial Lightning node. Built using LDK and BDK, LDK Node provides a straightforward interface and an integrated on-chain wallet, allowing developers to quickly and easily establish a Lightning node within a day.

Unlike its predecessor LDK, which offers extensive customization options but requires a deeper understanding of protocol fundamentals, LDK Node focuses on simplicity and ease of use. With a reduced API surface comprising around 30 API calls, LDK Node simplifies the integration of self-custodial Lightning nodes in various use cases while hiding protocol complexities.

The initial release of LDK Node includes several design choices and modules. The integrated BDK wallet handles on-chain data, and chain data can be sourced from an Esplora server, with support for Electrum and bitcoind RPC planned for the future. Gossip data can be obtained via Lightning's peer-to-peer network or the Rapid Gossip Sync (RGS) protocol. LDK Node also offers the means to source entropy for Lightning and on-chain wallets, as well as generate and persist entropy bytes to disk.

LDK Node is specifically designed to facilitate the integration of self-custodial Lightning nodes in mobile applications. Its features are tailored for mobile deployments, with integration options available for Swift, Kotlin, Python and Flutter. By offering language bindings and compatibility with mobile environments, LDK Node aims to simplify the process of deploying self-custodial Lightning nodes on end-user devices.

Looking ahead, the development team behind LDK Node has already started working on the next release, which will introduce support for sourcing chain data from Electrum or bitcoind RPC and persistence to a Versioned Storage Service (VSS) backend. Integration with the Language Server Protocol (LSP) specification is also in progress. The team is actively considering adding server-grade modules in the future.

For developers interested in exploring LDK Node, the GitHub repository, API documentation, and Rust Crate provide further resources. Additionally, there is a showcase called Monday Wallet, an example wallet built with LDK Node Swift bindings, demonstrating the capabilities of the library in real-world applications.

13 Artists Rewild the City Streets for the 2023 Nuart Aberdeen Festival "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Rewilding is an approach to conservation that allows nature to reclaim its space and form a self-sustaining ecosystem. The restoration practice has become one favored solution to remedy environmental degradation and part of the lexicon for climate activism. In Scotland, the increasingly popular approach also brings discussions of land use and access to the fore, paralleling the way people move through cities.

Using rewilding as a way to reimagine what it means to cultivate street art culture, the 2023 Nuart Aberdeen Festival brought together 13 artists earlier this month. Held June 8 to 11, the annual festival commissioned works that explore the tension between sanctioned murals and the unauthorized tags synonymous with street art. Projects include Thiago Mazzas vivid rendering of native plants, Nespoons reference to craft traditions of the areas Bon Accord Bobbins Lace Group, and Murmures imprisoned goldfish that explicates the proliferation of plastic and inaction as it relates to the climate crisis. Swoon, known for her intimate wheat pastes, even came out of retirement to create a series of portraits spread across walls and tucked in doorways and alcoves.

Nuart organizers said this years goal was to provoke reflections on what a city where art is truly free might look, sound, smell, an...

Dog Lover Celebrates 100th Birthday Petting 200+ Dogs After Daughter Tells Community About Her Dad

Making it to a 100 years old is a feat that is worthy of a parade. For a Bay Area man, this came true in the best way possible. Dr. Robert Moore is a lifelong dog lover, so for his milestone birthday, his daughter Alison came up with an idea. The woman posted on Nextdoor asking people to bring their dogs in front of their house to wish her dad a happy birthday. Hoping that he would get to greet maybe 20 to 30 dogs, she was taken aback when 200 pups showed up to the celebration.

What was envisioned as a modest get-together quickly escalated into a full-on parade, as the line of dogs waiting to be pet by Moore stretched all the way around the block and down the street. Pups of all kinds made an appearance. While some simply showed up as if they were out for a regular walk, others wore their Sunday best, donning tuxedos or cowboy hats. A few dogs walked down pulling carts with messages for Moore, while others arrived in classic cars that had been decorated for the occasion.

My father, he was so touched. He pet every single dog that came through. Every person brought the dog up to him. It was so lovely, Alison told NBC Bay Area. The humans who showed up for the celebration also did their part, bringing him flowers, cupcakes, and drawings. In the end, they all signed a large blue card that was set up by the family.

This was a memorable celebration not only for Moore and his family, but for all involved. As the story went viral, the birthday dog parade also became something people hope to see one day in their own lives. One Twitter user said, This is what I would also ask for if I made it to 100. Seeing how happy Moore was, it seems like a great way to celebrate a milestone birthday.

Symbolic Pics of the Month 06/23 "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ah, yes, the month of June. Such a beautiful month. The weather is nice, summer is coming, kids are finishing school. Whats not to like? Well, in the past years, the powers that be turned this beautiful month into one of the most annoying months of the year. Because now, June is Pride Month.

Apparently, a Pride Day wasnt enough. A Pride Week neither. It had to be a whole month. Also, the celebrations cannot be tasteful and respectful. They have to be invasive, abrasive, and, for some reason, often targeted at children.

Beyond the rainbow, theres one question that most people completely overlook: Why is it called PRIDE Month? Why is the word PRIDE the emphasis here? Because words matter.

Pride is considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins on almost every list, the most demonic. It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Pride is the opposite of humility.

Pride has been labeled the father of all sins and has been deemed the devils most essential trait. C.S. Lewis writes in Mere Christianity that pride is the anti-God state, the position in which the ego and the self are directly opposed to God: Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness and all that, are mere fleabites in comparison: it was through Pride that the devil became the devil: Pride leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti-God state of mind. Pride is understood to sever the spirit from God, as well as His life-and-grace-giving Presence.

The CDEZ Banking Commission, an integral part of the regulatory landscape within the jurisdiction, is now seeking experienced banking regulators and financial experts to shape the future of the zone's banking practices. The commission's responsibilities include authorizing banking operations, granting bank charters and ensuring competitive equality among financial institutions. Additionally, the commission will oversee various aspects of bank operations such as mergers, branch openings and closings and changes in location, with periodic examinations to ensure regulatory compliance.

"The Catawba Digital Economic Zone offers a unique opportunity for seasoned banking regulators to contribute to the development of a robust digital banking system," said a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine. "We are seeking applicants with expertise in policymaking, financial regulations and banking to harmonize traditional and digital banking practices while fostering innovation."

The CDEZ's invitation to potential regulators and financial experts highlights its commitment to maintaining the integrity and stability of the financial sector within the zone. The commission holds the authority to enforce disciplinary actions, including the removal of individuals engaged in unlawful banking activities or unsafe practices. This emphasis on regulatory compliance underscores the CDEZ's dedication to upholding high standards within the financial industry.

Applicants interested in becoming Banking Commissioners for the CDEZ can submit recommendations and applications through various channels, including the CDEZ Discord Server, an online form available on their website, or via email (contact@zoneauthority.io). The Catawba Nation encourages seasoned professionals with a background in policymaking, financial regulations and banking to apply and review the Catawba Banking And Financial Services Code Guide for more information.

With the establishment of the Catawba Digital Economic Zone and the call for experienced banking regulators, this innovative jurisdiction seeks to leverage its unique position to attract Bitcoin companies and foster a modern economy driven by responsible innovation an...

Uncertainty Returns After BitGo Cancels Prime Trust Acquisition "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BitGo's plans to acquire Prime Trust, a prominent custody firm, have taken an unexpected turn as BitGo recently announced on Twitter the cancellation of the acquisition. The initial announcement had generated excitement within the industry, as the consolidation of these two major custodians was expected to have a significant impact on the industry landscape.

In the preliminary announcement, BitGo highlighted its intentions to provide business continuity, long-term stability and secure services to Prime Trust clients. Prime Trust, expressing its enthusiasm for the partnership, believed that the combined company would revolutionize the future of custody services. Jor Law, Prime Trust's Interim CEO and President, stated, "No other company will have the breadth of product and services nor depth of experience that this combined company would have."

However, after considerable efforts and discussions, BitGo made the hard decision to terminate the acquisition. Although BitGo did not provide specific reasons for this change of course, the company emphasized its commitment to delivering trust in digital assets. The termination of the deal raises questions about the future trajectory of Prime Trust, as there were many rumors about the firms liquidity prior to the acquisition announcement.

The original acquisition decision came amidst developments in the custody landscape, with Bitcoin-only exchanges Strike and Swan both announcing their departure from custody services provided by Prime Trust. Strike switched to utilizing its own custody services, while Swan transitioned to BitGo and Fortress Trust, which was founded by Scott Purcell, the former founder of Prime Trust.

While the termination of the acquisition raises speculation about the financial health of Prime Trust, the recent announcement did not address or confirm these rumors. The industry will now eagerly await further details and clarifications from both BitGo and Prime Trust regarding their future plans and strategies.

Retired Baseball Player is Now a Full-Time Artist Specializing in Wood and Resin Sculptures "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Retired Baseball Player is Now a Full-Time Artist Specializing in Wood and Resin Sculptures

Wood and Resin Animal Sculptures by Blake McFarland

Lustrous and hard-wearing, epoxy resin has risen in popularity among contemporary artists. Its versatility comes from being able to be combined with other ingredients such as pigment powders or even other objects like flowers and sand. In the case of Blake McFarlands work, he prefers to pair resin with different wood varieties. Since retiring from baseball, he works full-time as an artist, creating stunning sculptures of animals like wolves, bears, and beyond.

His elegant approach merges the robust qualities of wood with the glass-like finish of resin. While the majority of these animal sculptures are composed of mixed woods, he leaves key areas like the head or back of the subject to be filled in by transparent resin. This adds a sparkly finish to the pieces.

In each work, McFarland begins with a block of wood and resin. He then uses various power tools to sand it down to the desired form, always with finesse. The wooden composites feature different varieties like Cherry, Curly Maple Buckeye Burl, and many more, adding to the intricate aesthetic. I love working with new materials and always challenging myself to learn something new, he says.

You can commission a sculpture and find available work for purchase via McFarland's website. Scroll down to see more amazing art and be sure to follow the artist on Instagram to keep up to date with his latest projects.
