Bitcoin Retailers Buying The Dip As BTC Soars Above $26,000 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
On-chain data shows that Bitcoin retail buyers have been loading up the recent dip, a move that also coincided with price gains above $26,000, relieving traders and holders. Early this week, BTC prices crashed to as low as $24,820 before recovering to spot rates, adding 8% in four days.
Retail Investors Are Buying The Dip
Following a turbulent week in the crypto space, which involved the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, Binance and crypto securities-related drama, the price of Bitcoin dipped below $25,000 after the Federal Reserve paused their rate hikes and keeping the US fund rate within the 5% and 5.25% zone, increasing the uncertainty within the market.
However, the crypto market has since rebounded, with retail bitcoin investors, characterized by those holding 0.01 to 1 BTC, stepping in to buy up the dip.
Interestingly, the dip-buying behavior exhibited by retail investors is similar in level to that observed during the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapse earlier in the year, but less than that of the post FTX collapse crash which saw Bitcoins price tank below $16,000.
With retailers loading up, it could indicate that traders and holders are confident of what lies ahead despite recent unfavorable fundamentals.
Bitcoin Whales On The Move
Meanwhile, with active Bitcoin retail buyers ramping up, whales have also been on the move. Crypto whales are addresses holding large amount of coins.
A Twitter user also noted that a user with 50 BTC worth around $1.2 million recently moved his coins after being dormant since 2010.
The batch of coins was originally mined in June 2010 and had remained untouched since then before being moved.
Following the trend, another previously dormant Bitcoin wallet, that has been dormant for a decade, transferred $7.8 million worth of BTC to a new wallet. Another long-term holder moved $11 million worth of BTC after more than 11 years of inactivity.
At the pivotal moment of BTCs price and the crypto space, speculators are raising questions about the motives behind such massive movements of BTC. It is known that the trading activities resulting from the transfers can impact the coins supply and demand dynamics of Bitcoin, potentially exerting short-term influence on prices.
As of writing on June 18, Bitcoin is firm above $26,500, and has reversed losses of June 14. With retailers appearing to be buying the dip, prices may recover in the days ahead, even rallying to $30,000.

For the past year, commercial photographer Andrei Duman has been working on a special project during his free moments. The endeavor, which involves taking X-rays of ordinary electronics, started due to Duman's amazement about how their technology is hidden beneath a clean exterior design. To reveal what lies below, he began taking X-rays of everything from iPhones and vacuums to game consoles and computers.
The results are a fascinating look at the inner workings of the objects that make our lives easier. Exposing them to a wider audience was exactly what Duman was hoping for. I was fascinated with the idea that we use so much technology on a daily basis, and we take it for granted in some ways how complex they are, but we never see it, he shares.
He's increasingly begun including human elements in the images, but overall, his X-rays stick to the object itself. To image larger objects, he's become adept at taking multiple X-rays that are stitched together in post-production. But for the most part, aside from cleaning up the black background, there's little retouching on the images.
One overarching theme is the development of technology. Duman spent a lot of time looking for all the models of iPhones to create a grid that shows how the revolutionary smartphone has changed. I loved seeing how the design and improved cameras, battery, and tech evolved with time, he tells My Modern Met.
Game consoles have become another favorite item to X-ray. He's currently tracking down rare game consoles, such as the Commodore 64, to add to his collection of gaming images. It's his hope that others will find this peak inside ordinary objects just as fascinating as he does. And that there will be a deeper appreciation for the work it takes to make these electronics function while still looking aesthetically pleasing from the exterior.

This positive development capped off what was an overall great week.
That said, the dramatic dip in the amount of Shiba Inu tokens being burnt might be something to worry about. According to data from the Shibburn wallet tracker on Twitter, only 38,673,239 SHIB tokens were transferred to the dead wallet in the last seven days, indicating an 87% overall decrease in the tokens burn rate.
It is worth noting that SHIBs burn rate is on some recovery at the moment, as over a million tokens have been set ablaze in the past day. This represents a whopping 281% burn rate increase in the last 24 hours.

How did you first learn about Bitcoin and what specifically drew you to it?
I first learned about it in 2012 from alternative schools of economic thought. I was a member of an email group and started noticing people talking about it back then. For those who are not familiar with alternative schools of economic thought, Bitcoin has sparked a lot of interest within the various schools of thought. For example, those who follow Austrian School economics would limited supply and decentralized nature. Its an alternative store of value. They also would argue that, because Bitcoin is apolitical and deflationary in nature, it is a better alternative to fiat currencies that are dependent on inflationary monetary policy.
There are several other arguments to be made surrounding Bitcoin
and alternative schools of economic thought, but we dont have the
time to get into those.
As a leader in the Bitcoin banking sector, you have seen the highs and lows of policy in the U.S. Do you think Custodia will eventually be granted a Fed membership and account?

To be more perfectly clear: Anything you can put ketchup on, BBQ sauce is a better alternative. Scrambled Eggs was just the test that had me take that from a theory to a conclusion.
I put ketchup on my scrambled eggs. I know plenty eat it plain, and plenty others have bizarre alternatives (syrup? wut?) but I grew up eating them with ketchup, and kinda cant eat them without it.
One day I make some eggs, didnt realize we were out of ketchup. Eggs already cooked, dont want to waste them.
Id been playing around with Most BBQ sauce is just cooked, spiced ketchup, and trying it (usually Sweet Baby Rays) in place of ketchup on other things. Like Hot Dogs. BBQ sauce on eggs seemed like an unnecessarily larger leap, but didnt have any other options.

I (24f) and the oldest of 3 sisters (23f) and (17f). My middle sister has extreme disabilities that required pretty much all of my parents attention as a kid.
Time, money, and any extra resources were all given to my middle sister so that she could have doctors, tutors, a special school, etc. From the age of 5 I was pretty much left to raise myself, and when my youngest sister was born, I pretty much raised her too.
I struggled a lot in high school as I also have a mild version of my sisters disability (but it was ignored since hers was much more severe). My parents did not help me at all, they ignored my concerns about my grades, rejected my request for a tutor, and did not seem to care at all that I was pretty much failing. Homemade Cultured Koji Butter "IndyWatch Feed Food"
Koji is dried fermented rice. The enzymes contained in Koji help to regulate the intestinal environment by promoting digestion and absorption and increasing beneficial bacteria in the intestines. Letting the cream ferment with live bacteria Fermentation of butter also increases its milk fat content, resulting in a creamier texture, it makes the butter more silky and gives it a richer taste.
Many of the unique attributes of cultured butter are brought about by the formation of lactic acid. As the added live bacteria feed on the sugars in cream, lactic acid is formed as a by-product. This creates the noticeable tanginess in cultured butter. Bacteria also break down lactose (milk sugar) and casein (milk protein) in cream that are difficult to digest, making cultured butter friendlier to the tummy.
Helpful bacteria helps strengthen our immune system, keeps
pathogenic bacteria from producing and helps digest our food.
Cultured butter keeps many of the enzymes that are destroyed during
pasteurization. These enzymes are not only needed to help digest
our food but to absorb calcium and other minerals. Both vitamins B
and C are higher in cultured dairy products.
Ingredients
- 64 oz heavy cream from pasture-raised animals, preferably raw
- tsp Koji I used the one linked to and grinded it.
- 2 tbsp sour cream
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a glass mason jar and let it ferment at room temperature for 2-3 days, mix daily.
- Transfer to fridge, until its cold, takes a few hours.
- Its easiest to use a standing mixer, pour cream (now its called creme fraiche) into the bowl and mix until butter and buttermilk separates.
- Press and smooth out with silicone spatula as much buttermilk as you can.
- Enjoy with freshly baked sourdough bread and salted whitefish and fresh dill, or any way you like.
- Definitely drink the buttermilk, its full of wonderful probiotics and vitamins.

Would you like a tour of one of the world's most exclusive venues? It may not be the hottest club in Manhattan or the chicest Instagram backdrop in Paris, but only a select few get to see the inside of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen. The doors only open a few times a year for select people, but now a virtual tour is allowing everyone to peer inside the concrete doomsday collection of seeds from around the world. Start at the entrance and work your way through the snow-shrouded interior of the mountain to learn more about the 1.2 million seeds deposited inside.
Opened in 2008, the Svalbard Global Seed Vault is the world's backup reserve of seeds from plants both common and rare. The location was chosen for its relative insulation from warming climates and its remoteness. The building, which looks like a concrete pride rock, was carved into the side of Plateau Mountain. It stands alone against the cold landscape. Some of the vault lies under 400 feet of rock, and five metal doors separate the seeds within from the world outside. Inside, towers of shelves hold thousands of boxes containing seeds in aluminum envelopes. A low temperature of -18 degrees Celcius preserves this precious material.

Celtic music is revered by many for its relaxing and ethereal qualities. Some list it as a tool for meditation and for finding peace of mind. While some of us may associate its sounds with dreamy medieval fantasies, Celtic music also has a belligerent side. A video that has recently gone viral shows a Celtic carnyx being played live for an audience. This centuries-old instrument was once used to call troops to battle and has a deeply haunting sound.
But what is a carnyx? It's an ancient wind instrument developed by the Iron Age Celts. Its most striking characteristic is the bell, which has the shape of an open-mouthed boar or another intimidating creature. It features a type of bronze trumpet with an elongated S shape. Its player holds the long straight central portion vertically, while the mouthpiece end section and the animal-inspired bell are kept horizontal in opposite directions.
The caption of the video notes that this was the sound Roman soldiers would have heard their Celtic foes make. Used by Celtic warriors marching into battle or for large ceremonies, the height of the instrument allowed it to be heard over the heads of dozens upon hundreds of people. It was commonly used between approximately 200 BCE and 200 CE.

ZachXBT Slapped With Defamation Lawsuit For MachiBigBrother Expos "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
A throwback article just came back to haunt one of the crypto industrys favorite crypto investigators. ZachXBT, a popular crypto on-chain sleuth recently got slapped with a defamatory lawsuit over an article he published last year.
The Controversial Article That Started It All
Around a year ago, ZachXBT published an article accusing Jeffrey Huang aka MachiBigBrother, of embezzling crypto assets using various methods ranging from failed pump and dump tokens to NFT projects. The article quickly gained widespread attention at the time, but it has been largely forgotten up until this point.
Jeffrey Huang, known online as Machi Big Brother, is a former Taiwanese-American musician and tech entrepreneur.
Huang has now filed a defamation lawsuit against ZachXBT, claiming the year-old article has damaged his reputation. Huang has insisted, at least according to a post that he published on Twitter, that ZachXBTs charges are false and defamatory. As a result, he has decided to sue for defamation of character.
A cursory reading of the article, on the other hand, reveals that it is an investigational piece that goes into considerable detail. In the article, ZachXBT provided on-chain data to back up his claims. The crypto sleuth initially accused Machi Big Brother of embezzling 22,000 ETH from Formosa Financial, a treasury management platform built for blockchain companies in 2018. Furthermore, ZachXBT then provided a list of other projects like Machi X and Wifey Finance.
How ZachXBT Is Fighting Back Against The Lawsuit
ZachXBT is not taking this lawsuit lying down as hes come out swinging against what he calls a baseless lawsuit with an attempt to chill free speech. ZachXBT has asked his followers and subscribers to support him against censorship and cancel culture, ensuring the truth survives.
He termed the whole situation as a classic David & Goliath story, and many have spoken out on social media defending his right to express his opinions. Brown Rudnick, a law firm with its headquarters in Boston famous for defending Johnny Depp in his case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, has agreed to represent ZachXBT in the lawsuit.

Fascinating Video Reveals What It Takes to Ring a 70-Ton Bell at a Japanese Temple

When you think of a monumental bell, what comes to mind? Is it one shaped like a hollow cup, much like the Liberty Bell? If so, you aren't alone. In Eastern cultures, however, there are bells much larger than it. Located in temples and palaces, ringing these instruments can be a team effort, as they have to be hit from the outside by a large swinging beam for their sounds to come alive.
An insightful video shared by Instagram user hirori030303 shows what it takes to ring the Daishr, or Great Bell Tower, at the Chion-in Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, aka the largest bell in Japan. The footage depicts a group of men moving a large wooden batten back and forth. Once they have enough momentum, the men swing forward, leading one to even slide down the floor. Together, they ring the enormous green-gray bell with one swift blow. In total, it requires a group of 25 men to sound the bell.
As compelling as the sound of the bell is, this is far from the only element that makes the Great Bell Tower of the Chion-in Temple such a fascinating landmark. The bell weighs 70 tons (the Liberty Bell weighs one ton) and has a height of 10.8 feet and a diameter of 8.85 feet. This gigantic instrument is also wrapped in history; it was cast in 1636, while the tower which supports it was built in 1678.
It's uncommon to hear the bell, as it is only rung on certain occasions throughout the year. They include memorial services for Hnen (the Gyoki Daie, held in April) and 108 times New Years Eve. By ringing it at the beginning of the new year, it vanishes the pain attached to worldly desires.

It all started when two men, Ubaid, and Jitender Saini, allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old Hindu girl in the town of Purola in Indias Uttarkashi district on May 26th. The towns residents captured the abductors. They were handed over to the police, where they were charged with violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other related laws.
What led to communal rifts between Muslims and Hindus was the fact that one of the suspects was a 24-year-old Muslim man, sparking new tensions between the communities and reviving the conspiracy of love jihad, where Muslim men allegedly marry Hindu women to convert them to Islam, despite little evidence of it happening. Even the BJP denies the existence of such reports.
Nevertheless, allegations of love jihad led to the creation of a new conspiracy involving jihad called vyapar jihad or business jihad. The May 26 incident in Purola also provided an opportunity for right-wing Hindutva groups like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and its youth wing, the Bajrang Dal, to reinvigorate their movement of kicking Muslims out of the Himalayan state that borders Chinas Tibet and turn it into a devbhoomi or land of the gods.

In his column titled "Everybody Has Their Own Islam, Nadeem subtly criticized Islamists in the Pakistani-administered Azad Kashmir for praising a new policy in the region where female students and teachers in educational institutions are required to wear the hijab.
Nadeem also wrote about how the conception of Islam by Muslim countries like Pakistan are influenced by their geographical and cultural sensibilities, adding that different Muslim countries like Morocco and Afghanistan have different societal attitudes and interpretations of Islam. He also pointed out how Muslim countries have become patriarchal and express the view of women being a threat to Islam, which justifies actions that would keep women far from men to protect the latters honor.
Finally, he urged Pakistan and its rulers to set their priorities straight, as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad. He even boldly claimed that Prophet Muhammad only allowed usury and slavery because economic stability was his priority while saying that the Prophet raised societal standards so high that these practices eventually became unacceptable.
The next to present his views was Shahnawaz Farooqui, a columnist for the Roznama Jasarat, a newspaper aligned with the Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami. He wrote a column titled "The Islam Of The Agents Of The West, outlining his counterarguments against Nadeems column and claiming how the West tried to subvert and malign Islam for over 1,000 years.

If you are different one way or another, you are then most probably a victim of stigma, where those who correspond to the slogan of normality feel superior over those who are different. Bipolar or suffering from schizophrenia, or Borderline personality disorder, if you have such a label, then you are stigmatized.
Just look around: its everywhere, the scarlet letter in regards to what is considered as deviation of an individual from the norm. The normality is sold to us as the only way to survive in our society, where we are supposed to behave and think like everyone else. There isnt anything wrong with a life of conformity, but among the promotion on us of what is considered as normal, those few who struggle with their health, for one reason or another, deal with overpowering stigma, where the patient has no other choice but to keep silent.

Every The Juliana Theory Album Ranked "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
The Juliana Theory are part groundbreaking melodic emo and part New Kids on the Block. The band was able to popify 90s emo in a way that didnt detract from the best parts of the genre. They deserve at least some of the credit that often goes solely to The Get Up Kids for influencing the sound of 2000s pop punk/emo. Plus, I bet TJT would take that compliment a lot better than Matt Pryor does.
The Juliana Theory evolved their sound over time and made some great rocknroll-meets-emo records on the back half of their initial run as a band. Recently, the band reformed as a duo, consisting of the two members who clearly had ownership of the band name.
So without further ado, we ranked all of The Juliana Theory albums and were still not sure if theyre a Christian band.

Slojd: Opting Out by MAKING What You Need "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This has been a multi-year process of gradually deciding, You know, Im not supporting that company with my money anymore, and its rapidly gotten to the point where my blacklist has a lot in common with the length of a CVS receipt.
Were witnessing the culmination of the long march through the institutions, and there are a lot of Americans out there who are in the same boat as I am here with all this.
And if you find yourself looking for some sense of direction with the tangibles of daily life, feeling the need to pull a John Galt and opt-out from much of pop culture society in modern America, I think youll find the 1800s Swedish concept of slojd (pronounced sloyd) interesting.
In 1865, a Swede with a name reminiscent of a card game, Otto Solomon, created a teaching system for young Swedes with the intention of getting more of them skilled in a trade and independent when they finally graduated from high school. He called the concept slojd. Basically, the idea was that you would teach kids manual skills such as woodworking, metalworking, knitting, and the like, so that they would have some marketable skill they could earn a living from, they wouldnt have to purchase everything they needed, and they would be able to fend for themselves better.
The kids would start with simple projects (e.g., make a butter knife) and then move up to more and more difficult assignments as their skills progressed.
In many ways, I think this is a concept worth exploring.
A kid who has been educated in this manner has less of an incentive to go to a four-year indoctrination camp after he gets his high school diploma. Why go thousands of dollars in debt for a degree to get a job when I can get a good-paying job today without the debt using the manual skills I already possess?
You also end up with the next generation not needing major companies for their daily needs (at least not as extensively), diminishing the power of those uber-corporations in the future.
But slojd isnt just about education. Its also a system of woodworking, and, admittedly, something of a toe-deep philosophy as well. Lets get the philosophy stuff out of the way first. Basically, its simply that you make what you need with what you have. (Thats why its toe-deep. It doesnt answer the big questions about life, but instead, is a philosophy in the same sense as why some basketball coaches like to run full-court presses all the time.)

The IceCube Neutrino Observatory is located at the South Pole, which searches for subatomic particles called neutrinos. It is operated by an international group of scientists, comprising of approximately 300 physicists from 58 institutions in 14 countries called the IceCube Collaboration.

Encompassing a cubic kilometer of ice, IceCube searches for nearly massless subatomic particles called neutrinos. These high-energy astronomical messengers provide information to probe the most violent astrophysical sources: events like exploding stars, gamma-ray bursts, and cataclysmic phenomena involving black holes and neutron stars.
The Antarctic neutrino observatory, which also includes the surface array IceTop and the dense infill array DeepCore, was designed as a multipurpose experiment. IceCube collaborators address several big questions in physics, like the nature of dark matter and the properties of the neutrino itself. IceCube also observes cosmic rays that interact with the Earths atmosphere, which have revealed fascinating structures that are not presently understood.
Approximately 300 physicists from 58 institutions in 14 countries make up the IceCube Collaboration. The international team is responsible for the scientific program, and many of the collaborators contributed to the design and construction of the detector. Exciting new research conducted by the collaboration is opening a new window for exploring our universe.

- New research from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem has discovered a connection between the level of nitric oxide in brain neurons and autism. The researchers behind this work investigated both mice and humans and found that higher levels of nitric oxide correlate with brain changes and higher levels of autistic behaviors. The authors worked with mice with mutations very similar to those found in children with autism. They found high levels of nitric oxide in these rodents. The authors introduced a molecule to reduce nitric oxide levels in the mices brains, reversing autism-like behaviors. The team then investigated blood samples of children on the spectrum and discovered an increase in nitric oxide among these participants. The researchers hope their findings will lead to drugs to treat people with autism and other neurological conditions.
- According to a new report from the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers Graduate School of Education, the number of young children with disabilities receiving early intervention and special education services dropped dramatically between the fall of 2019 and 2020. Specifically, enrollment in these classes and services for preschool-age children decreased by 15% nationwide. The report also found that Black, Hispanic and Asian children were less likely than White children to be in early intervention or special education at young ages.

A new mini-review article by two researchers from Japan has examined the importance of exercise, nutrition, and sleep for those with autism. The authors propose that these interventions should be recognized as the three pillars that support autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). The team started their review by pointing to previous research, which showed that ASDs affect many bodily systems, including the immune system, the sensorimotor system, and the gut-brain axis. They also highlighted that individuals with ASDs are typically affected by these system issues simultaneously. The authors then focused on the topics of exercise, nutrition, and sleep as interventions for the conditions mentioned in the new connectivome theory of autism that suggests that many of the disorders symptoms are related to the immune, musculoskeletal, and gut systems. The review demonstrated that exercise interventions positively affected physical and cognitive aspects and psychosocial characteristics, such as improved social communication and stereotypical behaviors. Additionally, the researchers discovered that nutritional interventions are crucial and must be comprehensive, observing the individuals condition. They also stated that sleep disorders are often a problem in ASDs, and interventions such as melatonin and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) appear highly effective. In the end, the review concludes that adequate nutrition is the foundation of exercise (physical activity), and the effects of aerobic exercise can improve sleep efficiency, shorten sleep onset latency, and delay waking time after falling asleep. The authors propose that the three pillars of exercise, nutrition, and sleep are inextricably linked.

Research Suggests Exposure During Critical Stages of Brain Development May Contribute to Rising Rates of ADHD and Possibly ASD
A recent meta-analysis from researchers at the University of Colorado suggests that early exposure to general anesthesia during critical stages of brain development might not be benign as once thought and could have lasting socio-affective consequences. These clinical findings speculate that general anesthesia can have adverse effects on the behavioral development of children ranging from internalizing behavioral deficits (i.e., anxiety, depression, somatization) and impaired executive function to an increase in externalizing behaviors (i.e., poor impulse control, aggression, inattention). After examining the data, the authors found that multiple general anesthesia exposures are associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and possibly autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Although the association between multiple general anesthesia exposures and ADHD appears to be fairly well established, prospective studies specifically focusing on the long-term development of ADHD are needed to examine this observation further. The authors also determined that despite similar trends in the prevalence of ASD at the population level, the link between early-life general anesthesia and ASD remains unclear. The meta-analysis concludes with a call to the scientific community to address whether environmental toxins such as general anesthesia administered during critical stages of human brain development contribute, at least in part, to the unknown category of the increasing number of reported cases of ADHD and ASD.

Every three seconds, someone breaks a bone due to osteoporosis, a common bone disease. Worldwide, this amounts to more than 8.9 million fractures every year.1 Osteoporosis is often described as a silent disease because it may cause no symptoms until a fracture occurs. You may not even know you have osteoporosis until after you break a bone, according to the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOP).2
In the U.S., about 10 million adults have osteoporosis, while 44 million have low bone density, known as osteopenia, which raises your risk of fractures and may progress into osteoporosis.3 This means that half of all adults age 50 and older are at risk of breaking a bone and should be concerned about bone health, NOP points out.4
Among women over 50, 1 in 2 will break a bone due to osteoporosis, as will 1 in 4 men. A fracture can occur from a minor fall or, in some cases, even from sneezing or bumping into a piece of furniture.
What Are the Causes of Osteoporosis?
Your bone mass grows from birth into adulthood, reaching its peak during puberty. From there, loss of bone mass begins. Your peak bone mass is influenced by genetics, nutrition, gender, physical activity and health status during your growth period.5
The greater your peak bone mass, the more protection you have against osteoporosis later in life, such that an increase of peak bone mass of one standard deviation may reduce fracture risk by 50%.6
However, your bone tissue is continuously remodeled throughout your life. Tissue is lost by resorption and rebuilt by formation. If resorption outpaces formation, bone loss occurs,7 which can lead to osteoporosis. According to Penn Medicine:8
Osteoporosis is a condition that leads to loss of bone mass. From the outside, osteoporotic bone is shaped like normal bone. However, the inside of the bones becomes more porous during the aging process due to the loss of calcium and phosphate.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Obesity is recognised as an important risk factor for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), with obese individuals at a four times higher risk of being diagnosed with the syndrome. Treating obesity with lifestyle modification is associated with a reduction in the severity of obstructive sleep apnea. Yoga comprises lifestyle modification that includes asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), dhyana (meditation) and guideline principles for healthy living (Yama and Niyama). There is a scarcity of data to evaluate the effect of yoga on OSA. This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Yoga based lifestyle modification on OSA.METHODS: Consenting obese patients (BMI>23) diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) (AHI>5) on Polysomnography (PSG) were enrolled. Eligible patients were randomized into two groups. The control group received counselling for dietary modification (staple Indian) with regular exercise and the active intervention group received Yoga intervention as treatment (OSA module) in addition to similar dietary modification and regular exercise counselling. Polysomnography (PSG) was conducted at baseline and one year follow-up. All patients were evaluated at baseline, six months, and one year for compliance and anthropometric parameters. Additional assessment with Hamilton scales for depression and anxiety, SF-36, and the Pittsburgh sleep quality index was also conducted.RESULTS: A total of 37 eligible patients (19 in the control group and 18 in the yoga group) were recruited for the study. The age [45.73 10.71 vs. 46.22 9.39 years, p = 0.88] and gender [15(78.95%) vs. 12(66.67%), p = 0.48 (males)] distribution was similar in both groups. After adjusting for age and gender, the percentage reduction in weight between the two groups did not reach statistical significance at one year. There was no significant difference in mean AHI between the two groups at one year. However, the number of patients with more than 40% AHI reduction [2/19 (10.52%) vs 8/18 (44.44%), p = 0.02] was significantly higher in the yoga group. Additionally, within the groups, the mean AHI at one year was significantly reduced in the yoga group [51.2 28.0 to 36.8 21.0/hour, p = 0.003], while no significant change was found in the control group [47.2 23 to 38.8 19.9/hour, p = 0.08].CONCLUSIONS: Lifestyle alteration using Yoga intervention and modification of staple Indian diet may be effective in reducing OSA severity among obese patients.CTRI NUMBER: CTRI/2017/05/008462.

Abstract: Functional Dyspepsia (FD), commonly called chronic indigestion, comes under the umbrella of 'Disorders of Gut-Brain Axis'. It manifests as a cluster of upper gastrointestinal symptoms including epigastric pain or burning, postprandial fullness and early satiety. Since the pathophysiology is complex, it is often difficult to effectively manage and significantly impacts the patient's quality of life. This case series aims to elucidate the role of Yoga as an adjuvant therapy to modern medicine in providing relief of dyspeptic symptoms in such patients. Yoga is an ancient Indian mind-body practise that has the potential to be used for various brain-gut disorders. Apart from treating the gut disorders from top down (mind-gut) pathway, it may have more direct physiological effects as well. Researches on IBS and one research on abdominal pain related FGID have shown Yoga therapy to be effective in ameliorating the symptoms. In this study, we present three such cases (1 male and 2 female) having a clinical diagnosis of FD in detail. These patients were initially non-responsive to medications but later showed remarkable improvement in symptoms within one month of added Yoga therapy intervention. This study was conducted as a part of a larger study conducted at a tertiary hospital in Pondicherry in collaboration between its Yoga department and Medical Gastroenterology Department. Yoga therapy protocol was given along with their regular medical management for a month. Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) and Dyspepsia Symptom Score questionnaires were used to assess symptoms before and after the intervention period. All three patients showed marked reductions in symptom scores both in the GSRS and Dyspepsia Questionnaire. The present case series suggests effect of adjuvant Yoga therapy in reducing symptoms of functional dyspepsia. Future studies may clarify the psycho-physiological basis of the same.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is a complex neuropsychiatric disorder for which several etiopathological theories have been proposed, one of the prominent ones being immune dysfunction. Recent studies on yoga as an add-on therapy have shown improvement in negative symptoms, cognition, and quality of life in schizophrenia patients. However, the biological mechanism/s of action of yoga in schizophrenia are not clear. The current study was aimed at exploring the effects of long-term (6 months) add-on yoga therapy on the immune inflammatory pathway in schizophrenia patients.METHODS: Sixty schizophrenia patients were randomized to add-on yoga therapy (YT=30) and treatment-as-usual (TAU=30) groups of which 21 patients in YT and 20 in TAU group completed the study. Blood samples and clinical assessments were obtained at baseline and at the end of 6 months. The plasma levels of nine cytokines (IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-10, IL-12(p70), IL-13, GM-CSF, IFN-, and TNF-) were quantified using multiplex suspension array. The clinical assessments included SAPS, SANS, BPRS, PSS, CGI, SOFS and WHOQUOL-BREF.RESULTS: Patients in the yoga group showed significant reductions in plasma TNF-(Z = 2.99, p = 0.003) and IL-5 levels (Z = 2.20, p = 0.03) and greater clinical improvements in SAPS, SANS, PSS, and SOFS scores as compared to TAU group. Further, plasma TNF-levels exhibited a positive correlation with negative symptoms (r=0.45, p = 0.02) and socio-occupational functioning (r=0.61, p = 0.002) in the YT group.CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the study suggest that improvements in schizophrenia psychopathology with yoga interventions are associated with immuno-modulatory effects.

Abstract: Bisphenol P (BPP) and bisphenol M (BPM) are increasing in our living environment as analogues of bisphenol A (BPA), but little is known about their biological effect. In this study, we investigated the effects of low to medium dose exposure of BPP and BPM on triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). We found that BPP and BPM exposure didn't affect proliferation of TNBC cell lines MDA-MB-231 and 4T1, but significantly promoted cells migration and invasion. The effect of BPP and BPM on promoting TNBC metastasis was further confirmed in mouse models. Low concentrations of BPP and BPM significantly increased the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker and related proteins such as N-cadherin, MMP-9, MMP-2 and Snail, and also enhanced phosphorylation of AKT both in vitro and in vivo. When PI3K inhibitor wortmannin was applied to specifically inhibit phosphorylation of AKT, the expression of target genes markedly decreased, and the TNBC metastasis induced by low-concentration BPP and BPM were reversed. In conclusion, these results showed that PI3K/AKT signaling regulate BPP/BPM-induced metastasis of TNBC by triggering EMT. This study provides insights into the effects and the potential mechanisms of BPP and BPM on TNBC, raising concerns about the risk of using these two bisphenols as the alternative of BPA.

Abstract: Bisphenol A (BPA: 2,3-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) propane) is an environmental chemical widely used in the manufacturing of epoxy polymers and many thermoplastic consumer products. Serious concerns about its safety led to the development of analogs, such as BPS (4-hydroxyphenyl sulfone). Very limited studies about BPS's impact on reproduction, specifically in spermatozoa, exist in comparison with BPA. Therefore, this work aims to study the in vitro impact of BPS in pig spermatozoa in comparison with BPA, focusing on sperm motility, intracellular signaling pathways and functional sperm parameters. We have used porcine spermatozoa as an optimal and validated in vitro cell model to investigate sperm toxicity. Pig spermatozoa were exposed to 1 and 100M BPS or BPA for 3 and 20 h. Both bisphenol S and A (100M) significantly reduce pig sperm motility in a time-dependent manner, although BPS exerts a lower and slower effect than BPA. Moreover, BPS (100M, 20 h) causes a significant increase in the mitochondrial reactive species, whereas it does not affect sperm viability, mitochondrial membrane potential, cell reactive oxygen species, GSK3/phosphorylation or phosphorylation of PKA substrates. However, BPA (100M, 20 h) leads to a decrease in sperm viability, mitochondrial membrane potential, GSK3phosphorylation and PKA phosphorylation, also causing an increase in cell reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial reactive species. These intracellular effects and signaling pathways inhibited might contribute to explaining the BPA-triggered reduction in pig sperm motility. However, the intracellular pathways and mechanisms triggered by BPS are different, and the BPS-caused reduction in motility can be only partially attributed to an increase in mitochondrial oxidant species.

President Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed in fresh remarks to Russian state television that Belarus has begun taking delivery of Russian tactical nuclear weapons which had earlier been promised by President Vladimir Putin.
Lukashenko in remarks to Rossiya-1 TV channel boasted that the tactical nukes are three times more powerful than the atomic bombs dropped by the United States in World War II on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The bombs are three times more powerful than those (dropped on) Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he added, in footage that appeared to feature a military storage facility in the background.
Though stationed on Belarusian territory, the nuclear weapons will remain under the control of Russias military, and the Kremlin hasnt given any sign it has altered its nuclear use doctrine, which stipulates they can only be launched if Russia and its population are under existential threat.
Back in March, Putin had hinted there may have already been Russian nukes stationed in Belarus, but these and statements since then have remained perhaps purposefully ambiguous.

A review of the role of vitamin D supplementation on airway remodeling in asthma. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Abstract: Asthma is a common chronic respiratory disease that affects millions of people worldwide, and its prevalence continues to increase. Vitamin D has been proposed as a potential environmental factor in asthma pathogenesis, due to its immunomodulatory effects. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effect of vitamin D supplementation in order to prevent airway remodeling in asthmatic patients. Four electronic databases, namely PubMed, Embase, Clinical trails.gov, and CINAHL, were thoroughly searched to conduct a comprehensive literature review. The International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (CRD42023413798) contains a record of the registered protocol. We identified 9447 studies during the initial search; 9 studies (0.1%) met the inclusion criteria and were included in the systematic review. All included studies were experimental studies that investigated the impact of vitamin D supplementation on airway remodeling in asthma. The studies included in this review suggest that vitamin D inhibits airway smooth muscle cell contraction and remodeling, reduces inflammation, regulates collagen synthesis in the airways, and modulates the action of bronchial fibroblasts. However, one study suggests that TGF-1 can impair vitamin D-induced and constitutive airway epithelial host defense mechanisms. Overall, vitamin D appears to have a potential role in the prevention and management of asthma.

The purpose of this Meta-analysis is twofold: (1) compare vitamin D levels in individuals with or without periodontitis; (2) assess the effects of vitamin D supplementation during scaling and root planing (SRP) on periodontal clinical parameters in individuals with periodontitis.METHODS: A systematic search was conducted in five databases (PubMed, Web of Science, MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane library), published from the database inception to 12 September 2022. The Cochrane Collaboration Risk of bias (ROB) assessment tool, the risk of bias in non-randomized studies of intervention (ROBINS-I) tool, the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale (NOS), and Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ) were used to evaluate randomized controlled trial (RCT), non-RCT, case-control study, and cross-sectional study, respectively. Statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 14.0 software, with weighted mean difference (WMD), standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) as the effect measures, and heterogeneity was tested by subgroup analysis, sensitivity analysis, Meta-regression.RESULTS: A total of 16 articles were included. The results of Meta-analysis showed that periodontitis was associated with lower serum vitamin D levels compared to normal population (SMD=-0.88, 95%CI -1.75~-0.01, P=0.048), while there was no significant difference in serum or saliva 25(OH)D levels between periodontitis and normal population. Abstract: Developmental vitamin D (DVD)-deficiency is an epidemiologically established risk factor for autism. Emerging studies also highlight the involvement of gut microbiome/gut physiology in autism. The current study aims to examine the effect of DVD-deficiency on a broad range of autism-relevant behavioural phenotypes and gut health. Vitamin D deficient rat dams exhibited altered maternal care, DVD-deficient pups showed increased ultrasonic vocalizations and as adolescents, social behaviour impairments and increased repetitive self-grooming behaviour. There were significant impacts of DVD-deficiency on gut health demonstrated by alterations to the microbiome, decreased villi length and increased ileal propionate levels. Overall, our animal model of this epidemiologically validated risk exposure for autism shows an expanded range of autism-related behavioural phenotypes and now alterations in gut microbiome that correlate with social behavioural deficits raising the possibility that DVD-deficiency induced ASD-like behaviours are due to alterations in gut health.

Anthropometric data, comorbidities, hospital setting, length of stay, respiratory support, outcome data, and vitamin D status were all evaluated.RESULTS: The length of hospitalization among participants (n = 74; mean age 57.6417.83 years, 55.4% male) was 18.5810 days, the majority of the hospital setting was a medical ward (67.6%), and the respiratory support in the form of mechanical ventilation was represented by 12.2%. XRP Allegedly Attacked By SECs Hinman For Ethereums Benefit "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
The legal battle between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken a new twist as top lawyers accuse former SEC Director William Hinman of being paid to attack XRP in favor of Ethereum (ETH).
Following the release of Hinmans emails and drafts of his June 2018 speech, pro-XRP attorney John Deaton expressed his frustration with the intent of the released documents on a recent live CryptoLaw podcast.
Payments To Disparage XRP In Favor Of Ethereum?
Jeremy Hogan, lawyer and cryptocurrency expert, also weighed in on the matter alleging that former SEC Director of Corporate Finance, Bill Hinman, was paid to give a speech in which he declared that Ethereum was not a security.
According to Hogan, Ripple, a leading cryptocurrency company, has suggested that Hinman was paid by the Ethereum Foundation or someone related to Ethereum to give the speech and give Ethereum a free pass.
Hogans claims are based on email exchanges between Hinman and his colleagues, which reportedly show that Hinman had already named his first email the Ether speech before he began crafting the speech.
This, according to Hogan, suggests that right from the get-go, Hinman is saying that ETH is not a security, and that was the point of him making the speech.
Hinmans speech, which was delivered in 2018, was seen by many in the cryptocurrency industry as a landmark moment in which the SEC effectively declared that Ethereum was not a security.
This was seen as a significant victory for Ethereum and the wider cryptocurrency industry, as it provided clarity on how the SEC would regulate cryptocurrencies.
However, Hogan has suggested that the speech was not only a free pass for Ethereum but also an attack on XRP, which was at the time Ethereums biggest competition. Hogans claims are based on Ripples ongoing legal battle with the SEC, in which Ripple has argued that XRP is not a security and should not be regulated as such.
Hogans allegations are likely to fuel speculation about the relationship between the SEC and the cryptocurrency industry, and the extent to which the SECs decisions are influenced by external factors. However, it is important to note that Hogans claims are based on speculation and have not been proven.
At present, the value of XRP stands at $0.4731, indicating a marginal recovery of 0.6% over the past day. This comes after a dip to $0.4564 on Wednesday. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Prediabetes is a condition of intermediate hyperglycemia that may progress to type 2 diabetes. Vitamin D deficiency has been frequently linked to insulin resistance and diabetes. The study aimed to investigate the role of D supplementation and its possible mechanism of action on insulin resistance in prediabetic rats.METHOD: The study was conducted on 24 male Wistar rats that were randomly divided into 6 rats as healthy controls and 18 prediabetic rats. Prediabetic rats were induced with a high-fat and high-glucose diet (HFD-G) combined with a low dose of streptozotocin. Rats with the prediabetic condition were then randomized into three groups of 12-week treatment: one group that received no treatment, one that received vitamin D3 at 100 IU/kg BW, and one group that received vitamin D3 at 1000 IU/kg BW. The high-fat and high-glucose diets were continuously given throughout the twelve weeks of treatment. At the end of the supplementation period, glucose control parameters, inflammatory markers, and the expressions of IRS1, PPAR, NF-B, and IRS1 were measured.RESULTS: Vitamin D3 dose-dependently improves glucose control parameters, as shown by the reduction of fasting blood glucose (FBG), oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), glycated albumin, insulin levels, and markers of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Upon histological analysis, vitamin D supplementation resulted in a reduction of the islet of Langerhans degeneration. Vitamin D also enhanced the ratio of IL-6/IL-10, reduced IRS1 phosphorylation at Ser307, increased expression of PPAR gamma, and reduced phosphorylation of NF-KB p65 at Ser536.CONCLUSION: Vitamin D supplementation reduces insulin resistance in prediabetic rats. The reduction might be due to the effects of vitamin D on IRS, PPAR, and NF-B expression.
