Hiking App Releases Over 25,000 Trail Maps for Free Download, Making It Safer to Hike

People Hiking in Forest

Many hikers have a story about accidentally going off a trail. They thought they were headed in the right direction only to find that theyd strayed far from their intended path. At best this is a minor frustration. At worst, its dangerous and requires a rescue mission. Hiking apps are a big help, as they often provide routes and reviews of trails.

But what if you don't have any cell reception? In that case, you'd need offline maps. This feature, however, is often unavailable on hiking apps unless you are a paying subscriber. An Irish hiking app called HiiKER is changing that. It has released all of the trails in its databaseover 25,000 routesand made them available to download free of charge. Users can choose to download a map to their phone or smartwatch for easy access. It also saves their devices battery by not having to constantly ping GPS.

Hiker Safety is our absolute priority, explains Paul Finlay, CEO and founder of HiiKER. Offering hikers Free Offline maps on HiiKER, means that everyone can feel confident that theyre on track, regardless of mobile service.

The app is used by over half a million hikers worldwide, and with this feature it will surely help many who find themselves lost when out in the wilderness.

Hiking app HiiKER has made all of the trails in its databaseover 25,000 routesavailable to download free of charge.

Bitcoin Market Dominance Touches Two-Year Peak, Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Amid the ongoing crypto regulatory uncertainty, Bitcoins market dominance has surged to its highest level since July 2021, suggesting a shift in the sentiments of traders and investors towards the worlds pioneer and most substantial cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

This milestone highlights the current volatility of the crypto market as it continues to grapple with regulatory uncertainty and the various factors that impact Bitcoins value.

The Resurgence Of Bitcoin Dominance

The latest data from TradingView reveals that Bitcoin dominance, defined as Bitcoins share of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, has hit a high of 49.5%. This level has not been recorded since July 2021 when Bitcoins dominance touched a peak of over 48%.

Bitcoin (BTC) market dominance on TradingView

It is worth noting that earlier this year in April, Bitcoins dominance momentarily reached 48.83%, after which it fluctuated within a specific range.

However, the past week saw a notable increase in Bitcoins market dominance, correlating with the time when the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) categorized numerous tokens as unregistered securities in its lawsuits against the worlds largest crypto exchanges Binance and Coinbase.

Consequently, many of these tokens such as Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL), and Binance Coin (BNB) have experienced significant price drops, while Bitcoins value has remained comparatively stable.

Market Influences And The Upcoming BTC Halving

The regulatory actions by the SEC underscore an environment of uncertainty that has had noticeable effects on the crypto market. Amid this backdrop, Bitcoin emerges as a sort of safe haven.

Micheal Saylor, a prominent Bitcoin advocate, echoed these sentiments in a recent interview with Bloomberg, predicting that: the entire industry is kind of destined to be rationalized down to Bitcoin and a...

Exposing the FDAs Orwellian Lie About Ivermectin | Facts Matter "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

It seems like the messaging thats coming down to us, the American citizens, from our own federal government resembles the world of George Orwells 1984 more and more. Case in point: over on the FDAs website, they maintain a page called: Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19 However, when you dig into it, youll find that the clinical trials that the FDA points to (the ones that are listed on that page) say the exact opposite. As ridiculous as it sounds: the FDA claims that ivermectin does not work against COVID-19, but in order to prove that point, they link to studies that say that it does. From Facts Matter with Roman, watch here: https://www.theepochtimes.com/fda-makes-unexpected-ivermectin-announcement-facts-matter_5307194.html?src_src=Morningbrief&src_cmp=mb-2023-06-06&est=GezgJfT23adWp4tpHXN7dTGdqau2gfpbQyqEf2MYCbxYxUVEQId88%2FHGpLfc0g%3D%3D

First Covid vaccine side-effect claims land in German courts "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Vaccine-maker BioNTech faced Monday its first legal claim in its home country of Germany over adverse effects allegedly suffered by some users of its Covid vaccines, more than two years after one of the worlds fastest and most extensive inoculation campaigns. In the face of the deadly pandemic that emerged in early 2020, which prompted border closures and lockdowns that trapped millions of people in their homes, the arrival of Covid vaccines had been widely hailed as a life-saver. But the jabs, which had been developed at breakneck speed and granted early approval for usage, are now the focus of legal procedures in several countries including France and Britain where plaintiffs argue that the vaccines harmed their health. In Germany, a court in Hamburg was prepared to hear a case from Monday against BioNTech, which, together with US giant Pfizer, produced the first mRNA vaccine Comirnaty. The hearing was delayed however after the claimants lawyers put in a last-minute challenge of the judges impartiality, and asking instead for a panel of judges to rule on the case. In her claim, the plaintiff reported suffering effects including pain in the upper body, swelling of the extremities, exhaustion, fatigue and sleeping disorders after receiving the vaccine, the court said. She is seeking 150,000 euros ($162,000) in damages and recognition that the defendant is bound to provide material damages, the court added. Her lawyer Thomas Ulbrich, who is also representing another 250 people in similar cases, said his clients were all healthy before suffering from symptoms, allegedly following their jabs. He believes that the medical files he...

WHOA

Might as well get this off of my chest

Without going into great detail (purposely vague), more than five years ago I was a part of a group of 3-5 people that would successfully take the MCAT in place of others for a fee. We were all adept at taking the exam.

Our clients were old money types with kids who could not make the cut (or didnt want to try). The fee was $100k plus any other extra charges. Fake fingerprints, IDs, prosthetics, you name it and we did it.

I had no qualms doing this as my reasoning was if they cant pass the exam, how would they get through med school + STEPs? Take their money and let them fail out of med.

No problems until one of the clients actually managed to get through school and had racked up some malpractice (thankfully nothing too serious). It hit me hard to the point of attempted suicide. I quit and went to therapy and the group disbanded (for other reasons) shortly thereafter.

Im much doing much better now, but this info is staying with me fro...

Why are all those racehorses dropping dead at Churchill Downs? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

RACEHORSES AT CHURCHILL DOWNS

The horses may be "vaccinated," toowe're looking into itbut these new high-tech gadgets (the sort of thing that thrills Bill Gates) are likely the main cause of death, as Arthur Firstenberg explains

by Arthur Firstenberg Racehorses are among the most finely tuned, exquisitely sensitive creatures on earth. So what happens when you give them all cell phones to wear during a race? They start dropping like well, horses. That is exactly what started happening this spring at Churchill Downs in Louisville, home of the world-famous Kentucky Derby. Churchill Downs hosts three meets every year during which there are horse races four to five days a week a spring meet lasting all of May and June; a September meet; and a fall meet throughout November. The spring meet this year at the Downs began on April 29 and was to continue until July 3. And beginning on April 29, and in every race on every day thereafter, every horse was fitted with a device they had never worn before. It is a wireless device, shaped like an iPhone, that fits into the cloth underneath the saddle on the horses back. Horses also began wearing these devices this spring during morning workouts.

Polygon (MATIC) Sees Surge In Whale Buying Despite US Regulatory Pressure "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Polygon (MATIC), a blockchain scalability platform, finds itself in the grip of negative sentiment that casts a shadow over its prospects for a strong price recovery. The crypto market has been a volatile space, prone to sudden shifts in sentiment, and MATIC is no exception.

The recent downturn in the sentiment surrounding MATIC has left investors and traders cautiously observing the price charts.

Once considered a promising project in the crypto space, Polygons potential for growth has been impeded by the recent actions of the US Securities and Exchange Commission against altcoins.

Will the negative sentiment continue to hinder MATICs potential for a strong price recovery?

Polygon Whales Unfazed By US Regulatory Pressure?

The latest data on MATIC reveals that the pressure from US regulators has not seemed to totally unsettle some prominent investors, as evidenced by a notable increase in whale transactions exceeding $1 million in recent days.

However, despite the increase in whale appetite, the cryptocurrency has failed to sustain a strong upward momentum at the time of writing.

CoinMarketCap reports MATICs current price as $0.5818, reflecting a decline of 2.33% within the past 24 hours. Additionally, the cryptocurrency has witnessed a subst...

The Secrets Of The S Curve: Why Bitcoin Adoption Takes Longer Than You Think "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Bitcoin Graffiti, a software developer and graffiti artist.

In 1714, the British Parliament introduced the Longitude Act, a law rewarding a 20,000 bounty (more than $1 million in todays money) to anyone who could accurately determine longitude at sea. Captains had been struggling with poor navigation since the onset of global trade. Though sailors could easily measure latitude by gauging the suns height, longitude was very hard to determine and inapt techniques veered vessels of course. Without visual bearings, humans were sailing blind on the open seas. The increased travel time led to scurvy, delays and ships smashing on the rocks losing crew and cargo forever to the deep.

Fortunately, a genius Brit came up with the solution the chronometer, a clock that could keep its beat on the volatile seas. John Harrison was this genius and his invention outperformed crude astronomical techniques that relied on clear skies, number tables and hours of calculation. There was no second best.

But his innovation wasnt adopted!

According to Longitude by Dava Sobel, it took until 1828 for the Board of Longitude to be disbanded and the chronometer to reach mass adoption.

Why on Earth did it take so long?

Going Beyond The S Curve

...the diffusion of innovations is a social process, even more than a technical one.

Everett M. Rogers, Diffusion Of Innovations

Another timekeeping device was invented in 2008 by Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin is a decentralized clock in cyberspace enabling accurate economic calculation and financial navigation in the uncertain waters of life. Though its properties are superior in the eyes of its users, the rate of adoption is not as spectacular.

Many claim its at the brink of crossing the chasm: This is the internet of 1995! But in our bullishness, we expected an iPhone-like adoption. Certainly, ideas spread faster than ever before, but to consider this trend as the sole variable governing adoption rate is oversimplifying it. The longitude story shows us that, even when an innovation is a complete no-brainer, it ma...

The Lion of Chaeronea "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Marble bust of the great Athenian general, orator, and statesman Pericles (ca. 495-429 BCE), shown here wearing a Corinthian helmet. Pericles is credited by many historians, notably Thucydides, with guiding 5th century BCE Athens to its peak of greatness; among his achievements were the ambitious building program on the Parthenon combat the Persians, into a tribute-paying Athenian empire. His reputation was not, however, unblemished. His political opponents accused him of aiming at tyranny, while his enforcement of the Megarian Decreewhich barred Spartas ally Megara from all Athenian harbors and was effectively an act of economic warfaremay have been the proximate cause of the Peloponnesian War. His death from plague plunged Athens into crisis and led to a succession of populist leaders such as Cleon and Hyperbolus, whose far more aggressive foreign policy ultimately proved disastrous for Athens. Though the city would survive and even make a second attempt at empire-building, it never regained the unchallenged supremacy it had enjoyed in the Periclean period.

SunHeartbeat 1 A Rock Has Been Found That Generates Its Own Electricity? Experts Say Not So Fast

Its not every day when news crops up that sounds like the start of a science fiction story or at least, they didnt used to be.

But, what if its real?

The rocks supposedly hail from the Republic of Congo.

Obviously, people would be very interested in rocks that could replace batteries and store power.

Experts are weighing in, though, and calling bulls%*t.

They say that, in the sparking video, the rock is likely connected to the mineral (pyrite) and are conductin...

What Happens To Bitcoin Price If Spot ETF Is Approved? Gold ETF Story Reveals "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The application by BlackRock, the worlds largest asset manager, for approval of a Bitcoin spot ETF with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the biggest story in the crypto market today. Numerous experts are extremely optimistic that an approval of the first Bitcoin spot ETF in the US will be a massively bullish event, attracting huge amounts of new capital and triggering a new bull run.

But where does this theory come from? Bitcoin is often referred to as the digital gold of the 21st century, so its an obvious choice to look at the history of gold and the first gold based spot ETF.

Why The BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Would Be So Bullish

The first thing to note is that BlackRock applied for a spot ETF and not a Futures ETF. The SEC has already approved a number of Bitcoin Futures ETFs that hold Bitcoin futures contracts on the CME. These are currently traded on the US equity markets, but have relatively low popularity. And this has its reasons, first and foremost the so-called drag, as Scimitar Capital explains.

Drag refers to the underperformance of a fund that attempts to replicate the return of a particular underlying asset and is a long-term result of regular portfolio rebalancing. To track the spot price, BITO, the largest bitcoin futures ETF, holds 2/3 in the front-month future and 1/3 in the following month.

However, this rolling is costly because of transaction fees, slippage and because futures for the last month are usually traded at a premium over the first month in BTC (contango). For this reason, futures ETFs are not a good investment for retail traders in the long run and are therefore unpopular.

A Bitcoin spot ETF does not have these disadvantages. This is the reason why physically backed ETFs like GLD and IAU for gold have a combined 90B of AUM whereas futures backed ones like BITO and USO have a paltry 1.6B, Scimitar Capital says.

The first gold ETF, the SPDR Gold Trust ETF (GLD), was listed on the NYSE on November 15, 2004 and revolutionized gold trading. Before GLD came on the market, it was possible to invest in gold in the form of bars, coins, certificates and shares of gold mining companies.

The exchange-traded fund made investing in precious metals a no-brainer and eliminated the problems of shipping and vaults. The same revolution could be coming to Bitcoin by a Bitcoin spot ETF. Retail investors could hold Bitcoin long-term through the ETF without worrying about custody and private keys.

And the revolution in gold also made itself felt in the price. While the price of gold was still below $450 per ounce in November 2004, gold saw a meteoric rise in the years that followed.

Editors Note: This Planned Chaos article is part 3 of a 3-part series that PrepareforChange.net is releasing this week. We had completed these vital articles in November of last year but withheld posting them because of the energy that surrounds them. These 3 articles about WWIII, the Great Reset, and Why They Do This? form a thorough explanation of the craziness were seeing in the world today, whos behind it, what they aim to achieve, and why theyre so evil. We feel that it is time where more people will be receptive to this information and it will have a better chance to inform and wake up more people in key positions.

The window that were in is known variously as the End Times. As such, prophecies have been written about this time, plans put in place and scriptures shared so that everyone that needs to execute their part is aware of the script. The thing about violating Natural Law or Universal Law is that things tend to move towards the path of creation naturally rather than the path of destruction. This is an overwhelming law that the universe wants to preserve. When in the past theres been artificial or unnatural tampering with the order of things, bad things have happened. This is a fundamental effect of what is Satanic or the adversary of whats natural. Our Planned Chaos series lays out the hidden hand that compels the global elite and secret societies (royals, military, financial leaders, political leaders, religious leaders, et al), is largely driven by Luciferian doctrine: do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law.

Discover The Plastics, the Influential Japanese New Wave Band from the 1980s "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Brian Eno famously said of the Velvet Underground that, though their debut album didnt sell well, everyone who bought a copy started a band. One could, perhaps, make a similar remark about a new wave band called The Plastics, who formed a decade or so later on the other side of the Pacific. They recorded for only five years, from the mid-nineteen-seventies to the early eighties, but wide swaths of all Japanese popular music released since bear marks of their influence. According to Underground, co-founder Toshio Nakanishi, who sang and played guitar, is now considered one of the most well-known Japanese musicians of all time.

One day in 1976, writes Neojaponismes W. David Marx, the 20-year-old Nakanishi gathered his friends at Harajukus most famous cafe, Leon, and decided they needed to form a band. They did not own any instruments, but music seemed an obvious means of expression. They began by covering the likes of Leslie Gores Its My Party and Connie Francis Vacation at fashion parties, but were soon advised by the visiting David Bowie to write songs of their own; subsequent well-timed encounters with the work of bands like the Sex Pistols and Devo gave them an idea of how to do it.

Why Is Bitcoin Up Today? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Bitcoin price has risen 3.2% since yesterdays low of $24,827. At press time, BTC was trading at $25,590 and has thus reclaimed two extremely important price levels for the moment: first, the Bitcoin price has once again risen above the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) currently at $25,299, and second, the price is now also back above the 200-week EMA at $25,304 (with the weekly close becoming of crucial importance).

As always, there are several narratives for yesterdays rise in price. The most obvious narrative and currently the biggest topic in the market is the Bitcoin spot ETF filing by BlackRock, the worlds largest asset manager, with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A spot ETF is seen as the holy grail that could finally open the floodgates for institutional liquidity, as Bitcoinist reported today.

Reasons For The Bitcoin Rally

BlackRock is believed to have a strong chance of getting the first spot-based Bitcoin ETF approved by the SEC due to its political influence and network. The new capital inflows made possible may have the potential to be the next bull run catalyst, according to many experts.

BlackRock getting a BTC ETF through would be the best thing that could happen to BTC, Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz said yesterday. Accordingly, the news is likely to have created a bullish sentiment in the market.

However, as always, several reasons play a role in the price movement on the Bitcoin market. One issue that should not be neglected is always the macro situation and the US dollar index (DXY). The latter has seen a setback in the last three days, falling from 104.70 to currently 102.21. This is likely to have favored BTC for now.

As for the macro situation, Wednesdays interest rate decision by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) certainly still plays a role. The main story is that the market is not buying Fed Chair Jerome Powells hawkish stance. Analysts believe that the two more rate hikes announced in the dot plot are a feint to prevent a bullish breakout in the financial markets.

Finally, BTCs decoupling from the S&P 500 has also been seen in recent days. Yesterdays move could have been the start of a catch-up rally in which BTC shakes off the unnecessary losses caused by the Tether FUD and the SEC lawsuits against Coinbase and Binance US.

In addition, Bitcoin hodlers continue to show historically high conviction. As on-chain analyst Axel Adler Jr explained via Twitter, the total BTC inflow across all exchanges is currently at a low, suggesting that Bitcoin holders are in no hurry to sell their coins.

XRP Price Projection: Assessing The Ripple-Colombia Central Bank Partnership "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

To improve the countrys high-value payment system, Colombias central bank is experimenting with Ripples new end-to-end central bank digital currency technology. How will this collaboration affect the price of XRP?

On Thursday, Ripple announced that the central bank of Colombia and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC) would be exploring the use of blockchain technology in the countrys high value electronic payment system with Ripple.

The central bank did not specifically state it will pilot test a central bank digital currency, even though it will employ XRP Ledger.

Ripple has not let regulatory constraints prevent it from innovating and expanding its reach, notably in Colombia, despite the fact that the blockchain startup is still engaged in a highly publicized legal dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

A Technological Solution In The Offing For Colombia?

Blockchain technology was highlighted by Colombias minister of information and communication technology, Mauricio Lizcano, who claimed that it would offer a technological solution (Prototype) that would enable simulations of various use cases in the high-value payment system.

Peersyst Technology, a blockchain technology company based in the region, is MinTICs direct partner.

According to James Wallis, vice president of central bank engagements and CBDCs, Ripple:

By harnessing the power of the CBDC Platform, based upon the XRPL, this project will pave the way for transformative advancements in the utilization of blockchain technology within the public sector....

Well, maybe not

Because this woman asked the fine folks on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page if she was a jerk for stealing her sisters thunder at her engagement party.

AITA for stealing my sisters thunder on her engagement party?

My (23F) sister (25F) recently got engaged to her fianc (26M) after theyd been dating for a year. Their engagement party was basically a dinner with friends and close relatives, and my sister went all out on the food.

To her marriage is a huge deal, and shes had her whole wedding and married life planned out since we were kids. Ive never felt the same excitement for weddings and kids and such things, even though i do want it at some point, and since Im a lesbian in an homophobic family, i long ago accepted that a big fancy wedding with my father walking me down the aisle isnt part of the plan.

This doesnt sadden me much, but my sister (whos the only one in my family who know about my s**uality) has been convinced that Im jealous of her since she started dating her fianc.

But sometimes they are necessary, right?

So is this woman an a**hole for what she said to her sister?

Check out her story and see what you think.

AITA for telling my sister she needs to pay for child care or Im not going to her wedding?

My (f25) sisters wedding (F28) is in a couple months. She recently sent out inventions. I was invited as a regular guest, not a brides maid or MOH since we live a state apart and obviously theres a certain level of involvement and time that goes into being part of a bridal party, which I understand.

I want to be there for my sister and obviously Id like to see her get married.

But the problem is Im a single Mom. My son is 6 and when hes not at school I need to be home watching him. So being out for hours at a time isnt really in the cards for me right now. My sisters wedding is child free.

Since its taking place in her state, Id need to commute, and Id probably have to be gone from my house for 2 full days. I cant have family watch my son since theyll all be at the wedding. And I dont really have friends...

So you can understand why this woman is upset about not being invited to a friends wedding.

But did she act like an a**hole?

Take a look at her story below and see if you think she was out of line.

AITA for expecting to be invited to the wedding?

I had a friend from a previous job get engaged and asked me for a favor. I left that previous job to work at an upscale hotel. She asked me to get her and her bridesmaids discounted hotel rooms.

I was able to swing about 10 suites for a very decent price compared to what they would normally sell for. Now her and I werent as close since I left the previous job we both worked at but we would text frequently, just couldnt see each other due to conflicting work schedules.

Timeline was honestly pretty rushed, she was engaged and was soon to get married less than 2 months later. The whole thing was expedited since her fianc was in the military and soon to be on deployment. The way she said it is she couldnt accompany him unless they were married.

Her and I are talking and I had asked what the theme was for the wedding so I knew what to wear. She awkwardly said I wasnt invited. I was surprised I wasnt invited out of at least courtesy for doing her a favor with the wedding block

Simple Facts About Nutrition and Food "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Image result for processed foods

Many people develop disorders such as diabetes, kidney failure, stomach cancer, hypertension, and obesity due to some very simple mistakes made in day to day habits that lead to serious conditions. With the widespread consumption of processed foods people are becoming ever unhealthier and headed for the grave much sooner than expected. Somewhere along the way we got railroaded into artificially colored cereals loaded with sugar and flavorings, fatty foods lacking fiber and raw nutrients, while even refusing to maintain internal cleansing.

Image result for colas and sweetened coffees

What you drink

Remove sugar or sugar substitute colas, Starbucks coffees, sugar sweetened teas, as these ingredients end up stored by the body as fat. They prolong digestion too. Green tea is a great alternative and you can use stevia as a sweetener if you must have sweetness in your beverage. Green tea helps to burn fat and even kill plaque germs in the mouth. Filtered water is the best way to fluidize your system. Bottled water has been tested and shows no advantage over faucet water, so why not buy your own water filter?

Proper digestion and elimination

One simple rule is this. The human body takes about 8 hours to process a single meal. So, every eight hours if you have eaten you should be having a bowel movement. If you eat three times a day you should being having 3 bowel movements a day. If you dont and many people dont, your body will begin reabsorbing the very toxins it was trying to excrete. There is an action inside the intestines known as peristalsis, the muscular contractions that move waste through the small and large intestines. The lack of moisture, low fiber content, and using stimulant laxatives when one realizes theyre constipated all work to weaken or destroy peristalsis which then allows dried feces to deposit along the inner walls of the intestines which can cause diverticulitis where the thin walls of the intestines rupture and form pouches of undigested waste. This condition can lead to colon cancer.

Geoglyphsdrawings etched into a landscape by either piling materials like stones or removing dirt to expose stonesare fascinating, often mysterious messages left behind by ancient cultures. A famous example is the Nazca Lines in Peru. These etchings of animals, humans, and abstract pictures date back to between 500 BCE and 500 CE. While over 350 of them have been discovered across 170 square miles, a recent paper in Journal of Archaeological Science has identified four new glyphs using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, a burgeoning trend in archeology.

Researchers from IBM Japan and Yamagata University used an AI tool which can help analyze vast amounts of data to discover hidden secrets. The tool scans massive amounts of aerial footage, in this case from the Nazca Desert in Peru. The tool is one called deep learning, meaning that the algorithm learns to look for certain characteristics which help it identify the geoglyphs hidden throughout the footage. The team claims the deep learning tool is 21 times faster than searching with human eyes. Since known glyphs are similar, these similarities help identify the new. Rather than looking for the same etched cat as seen elsewhere, the tool looks for component parts. By doing this, new designs can be picked out.

As explained in a statement, Deep learning models learn from (typically) a large amount of image data t...

Bitcoin Holders Show No Panic Loss Selling, What Does It Mean? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows that Bitcoin investors arent participating in any significant amounts of loss selling right now. Heres what it may mean.

Bitcoin Entity-Adjusted Realized Loss Has Remained Low Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, coins transacted recently were mostly acquired close to the current spot price. The relevant indicator here is the entity-adjusted realized loss, which measures the total loss investors realize through their current selling.

This metric works by going through the on-chain history of each being sold to see what price it was bought at. If this previous price for any coin was more than the current spot price (that its now being moved at), then the coins sale is leading to the realization of a loss. Naturally, the coin would be moving at a profit in the opposite case.

The indicator has entity-adjusted because it only counts transactions/sales between different entities rather than individual wallets. An entity here refers to a single or a group of addresses controlled by the same investor, as determined by Glassnodes analysis.

As transfers between the addresses of the same investor wouldnt count as selling, it makes sense to filter such transfers out of the data for the realized loss.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin entity-adjusted realized loss over the last few years:

Bitcoin Realized Loss

As the above graph shows, the Bitcoin entity-adjusted realized loss has been at relatively low values for a few months. The rally in the cryptocurrencys price has taken place during this period, so it would make sense that investors wouldnt have any need to sell at a loss while the surge has gone on.

However, recently, things have been different. BTC has been going down during the past few weeks, but there has still not been any change in the indicators value. This is unlike whats generally observed during drawdowns in the asset.

Even earlier in the current year, when the rally had temporarily taken a hiatus in March and the cryptocurrencys value had seen a deep plunge, there was an uplift in the realized loss, although not anything too significant. The recent low values are also despite the FUD that has spread around the sector following the...

Self-taught "seer" Shay has much to learn as autumn hits the quaint coastal town of Bray Harbor.  Since attempting the art of blending herbs at her popular shop, Crystals & CuriosiTEAS, she's set on growing ingredients in the mysterious greenhouse on the second floor -- if only she can separate the medicinal plants from the deadly ones.  Her new skills are put to the test when she meets pub owner and ex-detective Liam Madigan's Gran.  A psychic from Ireland known for interpreting tea leaves and people, Gran encourages Shay to build upon her natural talents and hold her own group reading...

Despite Shay's reservations about putting herself in the spotlight, the evening goes off without a hitch.  At least, until she does a reading and a customer goes from chatty to dead in a flash, poisoned after sipping a toxic substance recently grown in the greenhouse.  Worse, Shay's assistant is suspected of intentionally serving the lethal brew and committing cold-blooded murder.  Now, aided only by Liam and her do...

Circular Exhibition Center in Shanghai Wrapped in Undulating Staircase Inspired by Chinese Moon Bridges

Rendering of the West Bund Orbit in Shanghai by Heatherwick Studio

Photo: Devisual

Heatherwick Studio is adding its creative touch to Shanghai's West Bund waterfront by designing a large exhibition space that is currently under construction. Called the West Bund Orbit, its design encourages the public to experience the building from both the interior and exterior. Wrapped in undulating ribbons that act as staircases, it's intended to become a new landmark on the Huangpu riverside.

Heatherwick took inspiration from China's traditional moon bridges when coming up with the exterior staircases. Their undulating forms recall the tradition while still appearing fresh and modern. These staircases push forth the concept that West Bund Orbit is a 360-degree experience. Rather than sticking the exhibition space inside a box, the firm felt it was critical to set it in the center and place all of the ancillary services around it.

This is an exhibition hall designed to be explored and experienced, shares Heatherwick group leader Neil Hubbard. Rather than merely boxing up a gallery within an ornamental facade, the Orbits appearance will be animated by the people who visit it. Its location on the bend of the river means it can be a real beacon for the area, drawing people in not just for the events it hosts but the whole of Shanghai West Bund.

As the public meanders up the staircases to public terraces and bridges, they'll also have a clear visual of the interior exhibition hall. This means that viewing doesn't end once visitors step out the doors of the hall. And, once they arrive at the roof, they'll have incredible views from the rooftop garden thanks to multiple viewing platforms.

Fittingly, Orbit is being constructed directly across the river from the UK Pavillion made for the Shanghai W...

What Happened When Someone Objected at a Wedding? People Shared Their Stories. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Have you ever been at a wedding where someone actually stood up and objected to the proceedings for one reason or another?

I have notbut Ive seen it happen in movies!

But were gonna forget about Hollywood today and focus on true stories about when this really happened at weddings.

Check out these stories and try not to cringe.

Sit down!

I worked a wedding where one of the moms objected, but I think the groom knew that the parent was going to say something, so they just responded with, Oh sit down, (parents name), we knew you didnt like this a year ago and clearly were not going to change our minds today.

The wedding continued like nothing happened, but the mom was lowkey shunned and people avoided her at the reception.

Thanks, bro.

My husbands first marriage.

The brother of the bride stood up and said to my husband Say no, you can still be happy!

They went through with the marriage, wound up divorcing with a messy break up.

Brother in law is still best friends with my husband (as far as hes concerned he gained a brother and lost a sister and is better off for it) and he never lets him forget the fact that he was right and he should have bailed.

Didnt see that coming.

This was in America, and the wedding was in a Buddhist temple.

Parents of the groom stood up and objected because they didnt believe the bride was of the same class. They spoke in another language so most of the English speaking guests didnt know they were objecting.

My husband was the best man and those closest to the couple knew this might happen. The Buddhist priest said he would handle it if the parents tried anything....

Margaret Morrisons Paradigm Shift Is on View at the Lyndon House Arts Center "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Woodward Gallery is proud to announce Margaret Morrisons new solo exhibition, Paradigm Shift, on view at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia, through September 1. In this narrative series of 10 large oil paintings, the artist aims to investigate Caravaggios use of theatrical light by depicting stages of faith-based, spiritual enlightenment, from awakening to transcendence. She has been represented by Woodward Gallery since 1995.

In 2017, Professor Margaret Morrison proposed a Faculty Research Grant to the University of Georgias (UGA) Willson Center for the project Contemporary Examination of Caravaggios Dramatic Staging and Lighting A Collaboration between Painting and Theatre. She worked with Professor Anthony Marotta of the UGA Department of Theatre and Film Studies to explore various methods of stage choreography for the purpose of photographing and collecting reference images. She created a script for UGA theater students that resulted in a stage performance directed by Marotta and documented by photographer Gabrielle Rosenthal. Bitcoin Headed for Another Crash? Over $100 Billion in Liquidations Suggests Trouble Ahead "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency in the market, was expected to continue its bull run after consolidating its gains. However, on June 14th, just before its daily close, Bitcoin suffered a 3% decline, dropping below $25,000 and reaching as low as $24,700, a price level not seen since mid-March.

In light of these developments and the mounting regulatory pressure from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the nascent industry, many are starting to believe that the recent bull run for BTC was nothing more than a fakeout.

Bitcoin On The Brink With Massive Amount Of Liquidations Looming

Bitcoin has been facing a lot of turbulence recently, and the troubles dont seem to be stopping anytime soon.

The latest data shows that Bitcoin is facing trouble as over $100 billion in liquidations loom, signaling the potential for another crash in the cryptocurrency market. Despite attempting to surpass its nearest resistance levels, Bitcoin has been struggling, with the potential for further downside movements and increased selling pressure.

According to the latest data provided by the trader and crypto analyst under the pseudonym Bleeding Crypto, there is a total of $63.9 billion worth of liquidations at the $24,200 price level and $52.3 billion worth of liquidations at the $21,800 mark.

Bitcoin

The increased selling pressure in Bitcoin could potentially result in further liquidations and a subsequent crash in the cryptocurrencys price, delaying any further uptrends and causing a return to the lower price levels seen at the beginning of the year. This could induce fear among investors, further fueling short positions and potentially leading to a vicious cycle.

However, if thats the case, its important to note that theres also a possibility of a contrary situation, where institutional investors hunt for short position liquidations, leading to a surge in buying pressure and propelling the price of Bitcoin to t...

A Victorian Visionarys Prescient Case for Animal Rights and Vegetarianism "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Once upon a time your fore-fathers made no scruple about not only killing, but also eating their relations.

A Victorian Visionarys Prescient Case for Animal Rights and Vegetarianism

Chronicling the history of science at a recent event, the eminent primatologist Frans de Wall lamented the long-burning damage Skinner and the behaviorists of the mid-twentieth century did to our understanding of non-human minds and lives the way their views stalled science and thwarted empathy. I asked him which of our current paradigms about other animals we will look back upon in another century with the same shamed shudder with which we now look back upon the behaviorists. Without hesitation, he flagged factory farming and the large-scale consumption of animal meat.

A century and a half before us, the Victorian visionary Samuel Butler (December 4, 1835June 18, 1902) bent his gaze past the horizon of his cultures paradigms, giving impassioned voice to this sentiment and contouring a different moral future for our species in his prophetic 1872 novel Erewhon (public library | public domain).

Intuitive Astrology: Neptune Retrograde 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Neptune travels retrograde from June 30- December 6, 2023, in the sign of Pisces.

Neptune is the ruler of water, spirituality, intuition, creativity, illusions, deceits, dreams, art, fantasy, entertainment, and mind-altering susbtances. Whenever Neptunes energy is strong, it casts a veil, which can sometimes create fogginess or confusion. Neptune does this as it wants us to look beyond our external world and move into our internal world for guidance. When the outside world is foggy, Neptune reminds us that the only place to look is within.

When Neptune enters Retrograde however, the veil is lifted, and we are confronted with the truth. Illusions can come crashing down, and deceits can be exposed. Neptune Retrograde can reveal untruths or things that we perhaps didnt want to see.

If we have been using any Neptunian vices to escape from reality or bypass our truth, Neptune Retrograde can be a time when we need to wake up and confront things.

The Neptune Retrograde Cycle 2023

This particular Neptune Retrograde cycle will guide us to look back over events since December 4, 2022, to see if we need to look at things with a healthy dose of reality. We may have to take our rose-colored glasses off and face up to the truth.

As Neptune is retrograde in its ruling sign of Pisces, we are getting to experience the deepest and fullest expression of Neptunes energy. On a personal level, we may notice Netpunian issues we were dealing with in December 2022 come back around in some way.

We may also experience:

Creative Blocks

As the planet of creativity, imagination, and dreams, Neptune Retrograde can sometimes create creative blocks, but this is only in an effort to rebirth our creative vision. While we may feel held back or stuck when it comes to any creative projects we are working on, once Neptune stations direct, we are likely to experience new creative inspirations and ideas that can take our work to the next level. If you find yourself feeling creatively blocked, honor that a rebirth is in the works. You may also wish to use this time to take a break from creative projects and focus more on the logistics. Sometimes our creative processes need a checklist and a plan, and this would be a good time to work toward those.

Rethinking our Spiritual Journey

Neptune is the planet of spirituality, so as it travels retrograde, we may find ourselves rethinking our spiritual beliefs and what we are holding onto as true. We may find ourselves leaning towards different ideologies or different ways of being. If we have been spirituality bypassing things in our lives, Neptune Retrograde can bring these issues up to the surface, guiding us to confront them. It is easy to minimize things that happen to us in an effort to be...

Climate Protesters Target Monet Painting in Sweden "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In a Wednesday, June 14 protest, Restore Wetlands environmental activists smeared red paint on the protective glass of Claude Monets The Artists Garden at Giverny (1900) at Swedens Nationalmuseum. The two activists, who have been identified as Emma Johanna Fritzdotter and Maj per Restore Wetlands social media posts, then proceeded to glue their hands to the glass. They were eventually taken into custody by Stockholm authorities.

The pandemic was nothing compared to the climate collapse, Fritzdotter said in Swedish during the action. We cant even imagine what is to come.

The activists used red handprints to bring attention to the ways in which climate change is also a health crisis already taking peoples lives, per the groups post, which also warned that lush gardens such as the one depicted in the Monet painting could soon be a thing of the past as carbon emissions continue to deteriorate the environment.

Japanese Man Nurses Fish Back to Health and Remains Friend for Life

79-year-old Japanese man kisses a fishes with an odd appearance on the forehead

Photo: Screenshot from YouTube

The most common human-animal bonds are those shared between people and their domesticated pets, but there are also some eccentric pairings that are incredibly heartwarming. In fact, the unique bond shared between 79-year-old scuba diver Hiroyuki Arakawa and an oddly human-looking fish named Yoriko has captured the hearts of people far and wide.

Arakawa became a diver at age 18, has been in love with being beneath the surface ever since. About 30 years ago, as an underwater Shinto temple gate was being built 56 feet beneath the surface, he was tasked with supervising the construction. That was when he first met Yoriko the Asian sheepshead wrasse (or kobudai), who lives right by the shrine's gate. Over the years, Arakawa has visited Yoriko in her home in Tateyama Bay, in Central Japan.

One of the most captivating aspects of their friendship has to do with Yoriko's looks. Kobudai's are named like that in Japan because of the signature bump (kobu) they have on their foreheads, which lends them an uncanny, almost human appearance. If you look closely, from the front, they look like they have a human face,Arakawa commented in an interview for Great Big Story. When you look really close, youll think [she] looks like someone you know.

With time, they had become accustomed to each other's presence. Their mutual awareness was also crucial one particular day when Arakawa noticed the fish was wounded. Yoriko had a mouth injury, which prevented her from catching her own food, which could lead to her demise. Determined to nurse his friend back to health, he spent the next 10 days hand-feeding Yoriko meat from crabs he hammered open for her.

Fortunately, Yoriko didn't take long to heal and was back to being her curious self in no time. The best part? The fish seems to have taken notice of her resc...

A shiny, exuberant, mantis-like man standing next to a trophy. The woman who sat courtside wearing red and white gowns. The inexplicable man-made-out-of-Sprite commercial. On Monday, after the great battle of Game 5, the Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship for the first time in franchise history. I was introduced to the on-court chemistry between Nuggets stars Nikola Joki and Jamal Murray during the 2020 Western Conference Finals. Though they lost that series in five games to the Lakers (who would go on to win the championship after beating the Heat), they were great fun to watch. I found Murrays smile infectious. He seemed unselfconscious and comfortable in his body. When he was having fun, I was having fun.

In 2021, Joki received the first of two consecutive MVP awards. Right before the playoffs that year, Murray tore his ACL, missing the playoffs and the entire next season. Joki carried the team without him, but in the 2022 playoffs, the Nuggets lost in the first round to the Golden State Warriors (who later went on to win the championship). While Sixers center Joel Embiid won this years MVP, most basketball fans believe Joki is the better player. His performance in these Finals was sensational. His passes were gorgeous, his threes looked like afterthoughts. When the camera cut to him, he often seemed displeased. He was an unstoppable force, even when he wasnt scoring. He made it look effortless. I thought of him as Paul Bunyan.

I liked whenever the broadcast cut to a room in Serbia, Jokis home country, where fans stayed up till dawn, watching the Nuggets game live. In the postgame interviews before the award ceremony, it was wonderful to see Jamal Murrays teary-eyed smile as he spoke about the long journey coming back from his inj...

Saint-Louis Lumieres Installation at Milan Design Week

With a history stretching back to the late 1500s, Saint-Louis is heralded as France's first glass manufacturer. Even today, the company is still praised for its high-quality artisan creations in crystal glass, specifically in regard to lighting. In 2023, Saint-Louis's beautiful light fixtures were put on display in an immersive exhibition titled LUMIRES at the Santa Maria del Carmine church for Milan Design Week.

Saint-Louis worked in collaboration with Nonotak Studio to create the experience. It featured a combination of eye-catching light fixtures and a soundscape that was timed to the movements, highlighting the relationship between crystal and sound. LUMIRES is compromises five different light displays: pulsations, rotations, vibrations, projections, and diffractions. Each show follows a different choreography and rhythm.

Among the pieces installed in the church are intricate lantern pendants that create patterns on the floors and walls, light fixtures that orbit works of crystal glass, and lights that turn on and off in the rhythm of a wave. LUMIRES concluded with a magnificent finale: a royal chandelier made up of 48 pieces. The entire exhibit showcased the resplendant beauty of glass.
