Crypto Market Tension: ADA, BNB, MATIC, SOL Crash Over 10% In Past Week "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In a market heavily influenced by Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), their slight price decline recently has been overshadowed by a more substantial fall in larger altcoins. Notably, Cardano (ADA), BNB (BNB), Polygon (MATIC), and Solana (SOL) have seen a more than 10% drop over the past week.

This downturn traces back to regulatory actions taken by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against industry titans Binance and Coinbase.

Regulatory Pressure And The Crypto Market

This heightened market volatility follows charges laid by the SEC on Tuesday against Coinbase for facilitating the trading of crypto assets they labeled as unregistered securities.

The list of implicated assets includes FLOW, VGX, MATIC, and ADA. A similar charge was filed against Binance, where these assets, among others like BNB, BUSD, SOL, FIL, ATOM, SAND, MANA, ALGO, AXS, and COTI, were categorized as securities. Its interesting to note that the SEC did not include tokens with substantial trading volumes such as ETH, USDC, USDT, LTC, and BTC.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, responded to these charges by suggesting that the regulatory crackdown was a move to pave the way for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). In his view, the government aims to leverage the CBDC as a tool to assert control over peoples finances, facilitated by a selection of influential banks.

Hoskinson noted:

With respect to Binance, Im reading through the SEC complaint. Its over 130 pages, but seems like the next in a series of steps to implement chokepoint 2.0 in the United States. The end goal is a agenda based CBDC partnered with a handful of massive banks and end-to-end control over every aspect of your financial life.

The Market Impact On ADA, BNB, MATIC, And SOL

In the wake of this regulatory scrutiny, ADAs price has seen a market downtrend, falling by 15% over the past 7 days, with a further 2.8% loss in the past 24 hours alone....

James Lasdun, Jessica Laser, and Leopoldine Core Recommend "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Joxemai, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.

Julian Maclaren-Rosss 1947 novel, Of Love and Hunger, is a defiantly unedifying English comedy about a vacuum-cleaner salesman trying to keep his chin up in the gloom of prewar Brighton. Its not-quite-forgotten (if never-exactly-acclaimed) author has been on my radar ever since I learned that he was the model for the bohemian novelist character X. Trapnel in Anthony Powells A Dance to the Music of Time. That monumental roman-fleuve of English life happened to be a significant inspiration for a project of my owna novel about the seventies London I grew up in, an excerpt of which appears in the new Summer issue of the Reviewso when I found myself trying to think of a book that one of my middle-aged characters might have read in her youth, the Maclaren-Ross novel sprang to mind, and I finally read it. As it turned out, I dont think my character, a tortured soul who tends to find everything ghastly, would have enjoyed it. She would have found the seedy boarding houses and tearooms and pubs that comprise its setting ghastly; shed have found the petty swindling and debt-dodging antics of the protagonist and his fellow salesmen ghastly, and shed have found his unapologetic romance with the wife of an absent colleague too ghastly for words. But I couldnt get enough of it. Theres nothing obviously brilliant about the writing or plotting, both of which tend toward the studiedly humdrum. (Two more cars passed, then a bus.) But somehow its little throwaway visions of fleeting bliss snatched from abiding squalor got under my skin. I havent enjoyed a novel so much in ages.

Bearish BNB Signs Hint Downtrend May Persist Beyond Expectations "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BNB is currently displaying bearish signs that suggest a possible continuation of the ongoing downtrend, surpassing the expectations of many investors.

Despite initial hopes for a swift recovery, the persistence of these bearish signs compels investors to explore the implications and brace for the possibility of a more prolonged downturn, provoking further scrutiny of the future of BNB and its impact on the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem.

But what exactly are these signals telling us about the future of BNB?

BNB Recent Downturn Coincides With Surge In Trading Volume

According to a recent tweet by Santiment, BNB has experienced a notable downturn of -15% since June 4. The decline in BNBs price coincided with a surge in its trading volume, reaching a level not seen in the past five weeks.

This increase in trading activity suggests that market participants are actively engaging with BNB during its price decline, possibly seeking buying opportunities or adjusting their positions in response to the market movement.

The higher trading volume indicates heightened market interest and the potential for increased price volatility as investors closely monitor BNBs performance.

This confluence of factors, with BNB experiencing a significant decrease in value alongside a surge in trading volume, presents a dynamic and evolving situation for traders and investors, warranting careful attention and analysis of the underlying market dynamics.

Amidst the volatility of the cryptocurrency market, BNBs price on CoinGecko stands at $260.59, reflecting a mere 0.8% dro...

<p>On-chain data shows that Tether (USDT) sharks and whales have been rapidly growing their holdings since Bitcoins volatility started.</p> <h2>Tether Sharks & Whales Grow Holdings As USDT Exchange Supply Plunges

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, these large Tether holders are now carrying a total of $16 billion worth of the stablecoin. The relevant indicator here is the USDT Supply Distribution, which tells us how the Tether supply is distributed among the various holder groups in the market currently.</p> <p>Investors or addresses are divided into these holder groups based on the total number of coins that they are holding right now. In the context of the current discussion, the key <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/stablecoin/stablecoins-sharks-whales-load-bags-why-bullish-bitcoin/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">shark</a> and <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/stablecoin/stablecoin-market-cap-decreases-whales-remain-unfazed/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">whale</a> cohorts are of interest, the combined coin range of which can be defined as $100,000-$10 million.</p> <p>Naturally, this holder group would include all addresses on the blockchain that are carrying at least $100,000 and at most $10 million worth of USDT in their balances.</p> <p>Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Tether Supply Distribution specifically for the sharks and whales over the last six months:</p> <p><img alt="Tether Sharks & Whales" class= "alignnone aligncenter" height="1819" src= "https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FyIOMj9aUAA8fdp?format=jpg&name=4096x4096" width="2882"></p> <p>As displayed in the above graph, the Tether addresses holding between $100,000-$10 million have seen their combined supply shoot up recently. Interestingly, this rise has coincided with Bitcoin observing some high volatility due to Binance being <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/news/cardano/cardano-founder-unveils-sec-motivation-for-suing-binance/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">sued</a> by the SEC over alleged fraud.</p> <p>Generally, investors use stablecoins like USDT whenever they want to exit volatile coins like BTC. Thus, investors exchanging their assets for stables can be a sign of selling.</p> <p>Its possible that the latest rise in the supply of sharks and whales has come because of these humongous holders ditching cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin in these uncertain times.</p> <p>However, usually, whenever holders opt for stablecoins instead of exiting through fiat or other means, it means that they are possibly looking to eventually return back into the volatile markets.</p> <p>When such investors finally feel that the prices are right to step back in...

Bitcoin Is Becoming A Lifeline For Political Dissidents In Myanmar "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Win Ko Ko Aung, a McCourt Scholar for Georgetown Universitys Data Science for Public Policy program and a survivor of Myanmars 2021 military coup.

As the 2024 U.S. Presidential election campaign kicked off, one of the candidates, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., took to Twitter to express his support for Bitcoin. In a tweet, he stated that Bitcoin has been a lifesaver for peoples movements around the world, particularly in Burma.

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is a country located in Southeast Asia, bordering China, India, Thailand, Laos and Bangladesh. The country has stunning natural beauty, including untouched beaches, vast forests and a rich culture of Buddhism. Despite these attractions, Myanmar has been tortured by the world's longest civil war, which has been ongoing for more than 70 years, since it achieved independence in 1945. The country has also experienced multiple military coups throughout its history, leading to political instability and economic turmoil. Additionally, the government has a history of demonetizing the local currency, and there have been frequent banking crises.

One of Myanmar's most notable instances of demonetization occurred in 1987, leading to the historic "8888 Uprising." On September 5, 1987, the military dictator Ne Win announced the demonetization of Myanmar's 25, 35, and 75 kyat notes without providing prior notice or replacing them for citizens. At that time, these notes accounted for 80% of the circulation in the economy. Previous demonetization efforts in 1964 and 1985 had compensated noteholders, making this move in 1987 especially unexpected and devastating for the people of Myanmar. The choice to demonetize these particular, odd denominations sparked significant speculation, as they were believed to hold special status. It is widely held that Ne Win, who was highly superstitious, considered these numbers to be propitious both for the country and himself on a personal level.

Myanmar's transformation era commenced with the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to the co......

Catholicism The Scarlet Whore of Babylon "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication ~Revelation 17:4 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins Colossians 1:14, KJV Yeshuah dies for us, Catholic say Thanks, Mary! While violating almost every law He kept and died to write onto our hearts that we would remember it.
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over...

ApeCoin Holders Suffer Financial Pain As 95% Endure Negative Returns "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

ApeCoin (APE), created by Yuga Labs, once soared to great heights, capturing the attention of investors and enthusiasts alike. However, recent developments have cast a dark cloud over the once-promising digital asset.

With an astonishing 95% of ApeCoin holders finding themselves deep in the red, the future of this innovative cryptocurrency hangs in the balance.

Negative sentiment surrounding ApeCoin has become a prominent concern for its community. Once buoyed by optimism and excitement, investors now face frustration as their holdings plummet in value.

This loss of confidence not only undermines ApeCoins credibility but also raises questions about its long-term sustainability.

Diminishing Network Growth, Trading Velocity Compound APEs Challenges

Founder of NotLarvaLabs, Pauly, has revealed a troubling statistic: an alarming 95% of ApeCoin holders are currently grappling with financial losses, painting a bleak picture for the once-promising cryptocurrency.

ApeCoins price decline can be primarily attributed to the diminishing growth of its network, which has witnessed a noticeable decrease in interest from new addresses over the past three months. This decline in interest reflects a diminishing enthusiasm for APE among potential investors.

In addition to the decline in network growth, ApeCoins trading velocity, which measures the frequency of transactions, has also experienced a significant drop during this period.

This decline in trading activity further exacerbates the challenges faced by ApeCoin, indicating a lack of liquidity and reduced participation in the market.

Heres Why Ethereum Could Be At Risk Of Falling To $1,000 Again "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum is currently following the market trend of Bitcoin and continues to maintain above the $1,800 level. This price level is still bullish for the digital asset which is now only around 60% down from its all-time high. However, there is a threat to the stability that the digital asset has enjoyed so far which could send its price spiraling back down toward the $1,000 level.

What Could Send Ethereum Back To $1,000?

This week, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) brought lawsuits against top exchanges Binance and Coinbase, with more regulatory action expected to come toward crypto firms as time goes on. But one of the most important parts of the lawsuit was the SEC naming some cryptocurrencies as securities.

The list which the regulator hinted was not exhaustive included the likes of Cardano (ADA) and Solana (SOL), among others. Interestingly, the SEC did not name Ethereum as a security despite the digital assets status being a hot topic of debate over the last year.

Whats important about the cryptocurrencies that the regulator named is the fact that they are proof of stake (POS) networks, a mechanism which Ethereum transitioned to back in 2022. This has sparked speculation that while ETH was not listed as a security, it could very well be on the regulators radar to do so in the future.

If Ethereum does get listed as a security, the cryptocurrency could become a target for the SEC, which is already in a drawn-out battle with Ripple for the same allegations. When Ripple was sued back in 2020, the asset suffered a massive crash of up to 60% of its value. A repeat of such an event for Ethereum could easily see the digital asset fall to $1,000, and even lower.

Ethereum price chart from TradingView.com

However, the SEC has not made any indications of going after Ethereum. Right now, it seems to have its hands full with Ripple, Binance, and Coinbase, all of which have been vocal about fighting the regulator in court as they object to the charges brought against them.

ETH Price Still Holding Firmly

Even amid speculations that Ethereum would end up being classified as a security, the token is still maintaining a bullish outlook in the mid to long-term. It is trading above its 100-day moving average of $1,758, which shows investors willingness to purchase the asset at prices higher than...

Pepecoin 15% Drop Sparks Speculation: Will Further Pain Follow? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepecoin (PEPE) is now facing a daunting challenge as it experiences a substantial decline from its recent major surge.

Despite an impressive rally of over 50,000% between April 15 and May 5, PEPE has seen its value plummet by more than 60%, with a significant 15% drop occurring in the past week alone.

The sudden decline in Pepecoins value has triggered a wave of uncertainty among market participants. Many are now questioning whether this dip is just a temporary setback or a sign of deeper underlying issues.

Pepecoin Price Movement Creates Bearish Sentiment

Pepecoin (PEPE) witnessed a breakout in its price yesterday, but the momentum was short-lived as it quickly plummeted by over 30%, establishing a new low. This sharp decline has given rise to a large descending triangle pattern, signaling a potentially bearish outlook for the cryptocurrency.

Currently, PEPE faces a support level at $0.0000010, while resistance is encountered at $0.0000013. As the price approaches the apex of this formation, a crucial point where the triangle converges, PEPE could be poised for a significant movement in the coming days.

PEPE is currently trading at a price of $0.00000112 via CoinGecko, showing a modest 24-hour rally of 2.7%. However, over the past seven days, the coin has experienced a decline of 12.3%.

But if you scroll through Wikipedias list of popes, youll see quite a few entries without numbers, their rows cast in a disreputable-looking darker shade of gray. The presence of several such unofficial Popes usually indicates particularly interesting times in the history of the Church, and thus the history of Western civilization itself. The new TED-Ed video above, written by medieval history professor Jolle Rollo-Koster, tells of the only period in which three popes vied simultaneously for legitimacy. This was The Western Schism or the Papal Schism, or the Great Occidental Schism, or the Schism of 1378.

However one labels it, the origins of this papal predicament began in 1296, when Frances King Philip IV decided to raise taxes on the church. So begins the narrator of the video, which animates the historical scenes he describes in the style of a medieval illuminated manuscript. (It includes many amusing details, though I havent managed to spot any aggressive rabbits or snails, to say nothing of butt trumpets.) Pope Boniface VIII, the Churchs leader at the time, responded with the Unam Sanctam, a radical decree asserting the popes total supremacy over earthly rulers. The clash between the two resulted in the death of Boniface, who was eventually replaced in 1305 by Clement V.

Next Crypto To Explode? Mechanism Capital Co-Founder Reveals Altcoin Gem "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p>Andrew Kang, a renowned crypto entrepreneur and investor, has revealed via Twitter his choice for the next cryptocurrency that may soon explode in price. Kang is the co-founder of Mechanism Capital, which invests in cryptocurrencies through prop trading, mining, ventures, and secondary markets.</p> <p>In the crypto community, Kang has made a name for himself with his winning trades. On Twitter, Kang now <a href= "https://twitter.com/Rewkang/status/1667007852467359744" rel= "noopener nofollow" target="_blank">shared</a> his latest crypto find: Radiant Capital (RDNT). The altcoin has a market cap of just $77.3 million, currently ranking #287 among all cryptocurrencies.</p> <p>According to Kang, Radiant Capital has the potential to become the new king of the money markets, toppling market leaders Aave and Compound from their thrones with a TVL of $5 trillion and $2 trillion, respectively. According to the investor, Radiant Capital can succeed because it is innovating while the others are treading water.</p> <h2>Next Crypto To Explode A La SUSHI?</h2> <p>However, with a current TVL of $260 million via Arbitrum and the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Radiant has a long way to go. The case for Radiant is strong, however, according to Kang: the platform is the first functional cross-chain market maker (borrowing on the X-chain, lending on the Y-chain).</p> <p>Also boosting RDNTs price could be its upcoming launch on Ethereum and zkSync. Another advantage Radiant Capital has over its competitors, according to Kang, is the potential yield. While Aave & Compound only yield 1-2% on stablecoins, less than treasuries, Radiant can offer much more lucrative rates.

With >$100B stablecoin mkt cap & $10B+ stables once in MMs now idle, this untapped liquidity is a huge opportunity: as 10-40% stablecoin yields from an audited, year-old protocol become known, expect TVL growth, speculates Kang.</p> <p>The second biggest opportunity according to him are Ethereum and Liquid Staking Derivatives (LSDs) when the mainnet dApp launches. Once that happens, Kang expects Radiant to capture a piece of Compound & Aaves $4 trillion pie through sustained, incentivized yield.</p> <p>Another argument: with the rise of Layer Zero and zksync, Radiant could be well on its way to becoming a major beneficiary as people use the platform to farm potential airdrops.</p> <p>Also worth noting, according to Kang, is that Radiant has already surpassed Aave, Compound, and even Solana in 90 day revenue. Looking at the 90 day trend, Radiant is the fastest growing protocol in this field.</p> <p>However, the biggest trigger for an explosive rise in the price of the RDNT token could be a vampire attack on the outdated liquidity of existing money markets, a la Sushiswap. Kang writes in his latest tweet today:</p> <blockquote> <p><stron...

Woman Asks If She Can Opt Out Of Grief Competition That Her Brother-In-Law Holds For His Late Daughter. Is She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Grief Competition Woman Asks If She Can Opt Out Of Grief Competition That Her Brother In Law Holds For His Late Daughter. Is She Wrong?

There are no truer words than everyone grieves differently. There is no right or wrong way to miss someone, or to deal emotionally with the loss of a special person from your life.

Some people want to turn everything into a competition, though, and in this case, OPs brother-in-law insists on trying to one-up her grief.

He and his ex-girlfriend lost a 2-month-old baby and for a time, spent the anniversary of their childs death together at dinner.

I (20f) dont get along with my BIL (John-32m) anymore. Hes been with my sister for 6 years and its only recently that our relationship has gone down the drain.

For some context, when John was 19, him and his ex-girlfriend (Jane) were having a baby. Unfortunately, she died at 2 months old due to severe birth complications. John and Jane broke up but every year on the babys birthday, they meet up for lunch.

Since she moved away, however, he began hosting a party to commemorate the date instead, and OP assumed he needed the support without the childs mother around to help him get through the day.

Since meeting my sister, John also throws a small gathering for the family to come to. Obviously none of us met the baby, but its more for support since Jane moved countries and he doesnt have much family.

80 Schoolgirls in Afghanistan Poisoned: Disturbing New Assault "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

On June 4th, a local education official in Afghanistan reported that dozens of schoolgirls were victims of two separate attacks in their primary schools in the northern part of the country. The female students were sent to hospitals after being poisoned.

The attacks were considered the first of their kind since the Taliban seized power in August 2021 after a US-led military coalition left the country and after the Taliban imposed a wide-sweeping crackdown and restrictions on womens rights and freedoms.

According to Mohammad Rahmani, the head of the education department in the northern province of Sar-e-Pul, where the poisonings took place, the attacks occurred on June 3rd and 4th, where nearly 80 female students were poisoned at two separate schools in the district of Sangcharak.

Rahmani said around 60 female students were poisoned in Naswan-e-Kabod Aab School, while 17 schoolgirls of the Naswan-e-Faizabad School were targeted.

Both primary schools are near to each other and were targeted one after the other, Rahmani told the Associated Press. We shifted the students to hospital, and now they are all fine."

The education official also said investigations are ongoing. Initial examinations of the incident showed that the suspect who orchestrated the poisoning attacks had a personal grudge and paid a third party to carry out the assaults. Besides these details, Rahmani did not provide further information on the attack or the suspect.

Rahmani also did not give more information about the female victims, such as the nature of their injuries, how they were poisoned, or even their ages. However, the education official said the schoolgirls were in Grades 1 to 6.

Like Afghanistan, its neighbor Iran was also rocked by a series of poisonings primarily targeted against girls schools as early as November 2022. Thousands of female students in Iran reported being poisoned by noxio...

A Bold Nude Protest that "Desecrated" the Vatican! "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A Polish-born man made headlines last week after a bold protest where he approached the main altar of the St. Peters Basilica, stripped naked, and hopped on the altar with a handwritten message on his back, pleading to save the children of Ukraine.

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, head of St. Peters Basilica, made a special, penitential rite on June 4th, after the incident, accompanied by canons of the Chapter of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter's and other devotees.

Vatican News, the news outlet that first published a report about the desecration of the altar, reported that the man, who was identified as a Polish national, approached the Altar of the Confession as the Basilica was about to close before removing his clothes and jumping on the altar, showing the words "Save children of Ukraine" written on his back in marker. Photos of the nude protest showed the bald Polish man in only black socks and sneakers with his back to the pews.

The Polish man did not resist when officers from the Vatican Gendarmerie approached to arrest him before taking him to the Vatican police station. He was then transferred to the Italian police, as per the treaty between the Italian Republic and the Holy See, and the Italian authorities issued an order to expel the man from Italy.

Banning the Bible in Utah Schools: A Parent's Demand Sparks Outrage! "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Almost three months after an unnamed parent from Utah submitted a book challenge to a school district last March requesting to remove the Bible from bookshelves in schools using a state law that prohibits pornographic or indecent materials in schools, the district responded by banning the religious book in elementary and middle school libraries.

Last week, the Davis School District officially announced its decision to remove the Bible from libraries in elementary and middle schools for containing "vulgarity or violence." The committee that reviewed the Bible book challenge determined that while it doesnt totally meet the requirements to violate the state law, the material should be limited only to high school-aged students and agreed that it was not suitable for younger grades.

Speaking to the Salt Lake Tribune, Christopher Williams, the spokesperson for the Davis School District, stated that Bibles would be removed from seven or eight school libraries effective immediately. The Tribune also said another parent appealed the decision, prompting the Davis School District to form another committee reviewing this appeal, which will consist of the three members of its Board of Education and will send a recommendation for the board to put to a vote.

After initially calling the book challenge a mockery of the state law he sponsored, Republican state representative Ken Ivory released a statement reversing his position on the ban on June 1st. In his statement, Ivory wrote that the Bible is a "challenging read" for children and that the religious book is "best taught, and best understood, in th...

He Called His Girlfriend Selfish for Being Upset at Him About the Birth of Their Child. Did He Go Too Far? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Calling My Girlfriend Selfish Also In Hospital He Called His Girlfriend Selfish for Being Upset at Him About the Birth of Their Child. Did He Go Too Far?

Whoathis sounds like a rough one.

And it definitely sounds like there is trouble in paradise for this couple if theyre having huge issues this soon after their kid was born.

But did this guy go too far when he called his baby-mama selfish?

Read on to get all the details and see what you think.

AITA for calling my girlfriend selfish for being upset I wasnt at the birth of our kid because I was also in hospital?

My girlfriend and I (both 26f) have a son who is just over a year old. And there was some major drama during the birth.

For some context, I have chronic heart problems and have been struggling with it since birth. I had a surgery when I was an infant, another at 7 and another at 15. I havent needed one since and have been doing well all around.

When my girlfriend was 6 months pregnant, I got really, really ill and it took a massive toll on my lungs and heart. I pulled through but spent about a month in the hospital. I felt so awful that I couldnt be with my girlfriend (Jane) but she was super great with it.

Then, 2 days before the due date,...

Bitcoin Price Defies Gravity But Here Is Why It Could Decline Again "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin price is consolidating above the $26,000 support. BTC could start another decline if it stays below $27,400 for a long time.

  • Bitcoin is struggling to gain pace for a move above the $27,400 resistance.
  • The price is trading near $26,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average.
  • There was a break above a declining channel with resistance near $26,420 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair (data feed from Kraken).
  • The pair could decline again if there is a move below the $26,000 support zone.

Bitcoin Price Faces Resistance

Bitcoin price remained stable above the $26,000 level. BTC traded as low as $26,139 and recently started an upside correction. It was able to climb above the $26,250 level.

There was a move above the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the downward move from the $27,387 swing high to the $26,139 low. Besides, there was a break above a declining channel with resistance near $26,420 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair.

Bitcoin price is now trading near $26,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average. It seems to be facing resistance near the $26,750 level. It is close to the 50% Fib retracement level of the downward move from the $27,387 swing high to the $26,139 low.

A clear move above the $26,750 resistance might start a decent increase. The next major resistance is near the $27,000 level. A close above $27,000 might send the price further higher.

The next key resistance is near the $27,400 level. A clear move above the $27,400 resistance might call for a move toward the $27,500 resistance. Any more gains above the $27,500 resistance zone might send the price toward the $28,500 resistance zone.

The mysterious trails of rocks at Racetrack Playa in Death Valley National Park, California.

For many years, the cause of these mysterious rock movements was unknown. However, in recent years, scientists have discovered that the rocks move due to a combination of wind and ice.

During periods of rain or melting snow, water freezes into thin sheets of ice on the surface of the lake bed. When the ice breaks apart, it can be moved by wind, and as the ice sheets move, they push the rocks along with them, leaving behind the distinctive trails.

A famous one.

Cobra Update: Situation Update 8th June 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Light forces have made a breakthrough on the etheric plane. They were able to destroy the Chimera / Lords of Karma dark network on the etheric plane with all their technologies, with most of the etheirc Chimera / Lords of Karma entities captured and taken to the Galactic Central sun, and a very few of the Chimera escaping to the physical plane into cloned bodies through the DARPA pit. Thus now the only location under dark control is the physical plane on the surface of this planet. The few remaining dark entities on the etheric plane are disorganized, in flight, and are no longer part of the dark network. Since Lords of Karma etheric control network is gone, human beings are no longer forced to incarnate, and now they incarnate mainly based on their conscious or subconscious impulses. The etheric plane still looks like after a war zone, spiritual guides are not present, and random anomaly clouds still contain dark entities that have not been cleared yet. Human beings who die may or may not go through the etheric plane unharmed after their death process into a relatively lighter astral plane, depending on their level of awareness and their emotional state. Tropical Coconut Pop "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Nothing captures the true essence of summer better than sitting on the front porch with a homemade, nutrient-packed popsicle in hand. It is best experienced while leisurely soaking in the warm rays of the sun with toes wiggling in the grass, messy faces, and not a care in the world. After a morning of hard play in the sandbox or a treasure hunt for rocks and sticks, my preschooler adores sitting down for a soothing, cooling popsicle as a snack or after-lunch treat.

Learn about the recommend molds in Celebrate Summer With a Pop.

INGREDIENTS

1-2 organic bananas, depending on size

    1-2 raw pasture-raised egg yolks
    dash of vanilla
1 tablespoon maple syrup, or to taste flaked coconut (optional)

Refusing To Eat A Smash Cake Person Wants to Know if Theyre Wrong for Refusing to Eat a Childs Smash Cake

Im gonna go on the record right now and say that I also wouldnt eat a smash cake.

And once you read the description below of what a smash cake actually is, I think youre gonna agree with me.

But thats just my opinion!

Read the story below and see if you think this person was an a**hole for what they did.

AITA for refusing to eat a smash cake?

Yesterday was my nephews 1st birthday, and my sister and BIL had a little get together at their house. When it was time for cake, they brought out my nephews smash cakeexactly what it sounds, a cake for the baby to smash up and get icing all over themselves for cute pictures or whatever.

I kind of imagined that it would be the size of a big cupcake, but they brought out a regular-sized round birthday cake. I just kind of figured they splurged and still expected the cake to just be for him to play around with. BUT

After my nephew had gone at this cake with his bare hands, and stuck his whole face in it, my sister started scooping up the mangled remains and distributing servings to everyone (just a handful of family members.) And everyone else was actually eating it!

I declined becauseseriously? I didnt want to eat...

Coinbase CEO Faces Allegations Of Insider Trading In $1.7 Million Stock Sale "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The recent allegations of insider trading against Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong have raised concerns among investors and industry experts. Armstrong sold nearly 30,000 shares of his company worth over $1.7 million just two days before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) initiated enforcement action against Coinbase.

Coinbase Investors Question CEOs Stock Sale Prior SEC Complaint

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has come under scrutiny after selling a massive 29,730 shares of his companys Class A Common Stock on June 5, 2023, according to a Form 4 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Armstrong made the sale in eight separate transactions, all on the same date, at an average price of $60.3 per share. This netted him over $1.7 million in total.

There is speculation that Armstrongs stock sale was a pre-planned transaction, made before Coinbases stock plummeted from $63 per share to $44, a considerable decline of 30%. This has raised concerns among investors about the possibility of insider trading or a planned stock sale by the companys executives.

However, executives at publicly traded companies like Coinbase since 2021, are often required to follow strict rules about when and how they can trade their companys stocks.

They are typically required to set up a trading plan, which allows them to schedule sales of their stocks well in advance, at times when they do not possess insider information. The plans details, including how many shares to sell and when must be pre-determined and followed exactly.

If Armstrongs sale was made according to his plan, the timing of the sale just a day before the SEC lawsuit was made public would be a coincidence. However, some investors are still concerned about the optics of the sale and the possibility of insider trading.

Nevertheless, companies are typically bound by disclosure rules that require them to inform the public of significant events as soon as possible. The announcement of the SEC lawsuit likely followed these rules, and its possible that the news coincided with Armstrongs pre-scheduled stock sale.

Crypto.coms CRO Firm Despite SEC Lawsuit Fears, Time To Watch The Token? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

CRO, the native token of the Cronos blockchain, an open-source, interoperable, and Cosmos-based platform, a centralized crypto asset exchange, is steady despite some community members fearing that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the primary securities regulator in that country, could soon target Crypto.com, the crypto exchange and developer of the blockchain.

CRO Stabilizes Despite Fears The SEC Might Sue Crypto.com

As of writing on June 8, CRO is trading at $0.05889, stable in the last 24 hours against the USD, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.

CRO Price On June 8| Source: CROUSDT On Binance, TradingView

All the same, with the CRO average daily trading volumes at $9,098,498, it is down over 25% in the last trading day.

The double-digit contraction in the previous 24 hours comes less than 72 hours after the SEC sued Binance, a dominant cryptocurrency exchange, alleging that it has been facilitating the trading of unregistered securities and illegally allowing Americans to access the platform. The SEC has filed 13 charges against the Changpeng Zhao-led exchange.

The regulator also sued Coinbase in federal court in New York, claiming that, like Binance, the crypto exchange had listed and profited from the trading of unregistered securities.

Tokens the SEC claim are securities include ADA, the native currency of Cardano; MANA, the token behind Decentraland; SAND, the ERC-20 token priming The SandBox; ALGO, the native currency of the Algorand proof-of-stake blockchain, and MATIC by Polygon.

Stablecoin, BUSD; NEAR by the NEAR Protocol; CHZ by Chiliz, are some of the tokens mentioned and which the SEC alleges are unregistered securities.

Even so, there was no express mention of CRO in any of the two lawsuits filed by the regulator against the two largest cryptocurrency exchanges.

At the same time, it should be noted that Crypto.com also allows the trading of most tokens that the SEC alleges are unregistered securities.

Whats Common in All Tokens The SEC Alleges Are Securities?

Within the Cronos blockchain, CRO is used to pay gas fees. Also, because the platform uses a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm, users can stake CRO and receive rewards. Moreover, users can access the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem in Cronos by holding CRO.

In 2018, Crypto.com completed its initial coin offering (ICO), raising over $26 million, which also saw the launch of the CRO token.

The transfer of the building to Sothebys is a symbolic transformation, as well. Museums certainly depend on agglomerations of wealth to build collections and sustain their mission, and artists are no strangers to greed. But museum culture has been colonized largely by people on the outside of that kind of wealth: scholars, curators, artists and art lovers. All too often, public institutions have to court the wealthy, but smart public institutions speak the language of their larger audience. Sothebys, on the other hand, conjoins words like art and luxury goods as if there was no distinction between them.

BitGo Announces Preliminary Deal To Acquire Prime Trust Custody Firm "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BitGo Holdings, Inc., has announced its intention to acquire Prime Core Technologies, Inc., the parent company of Prime Trust. According to a blog posted by BitGo, the acquisition aims to bring business continuity, long-term stability and regulated, secure services to Prime Trust clients.

Prime Trust expressed excitement about the potential partnership. Jor Law, Prime Trust's Interim CEO and President, said he believes that the combination of Prime Trust and BitGo will be a game-changer for the industry, stating, "No other company will have the breadth of product and services nor depth of experience that this combined company would have. We are excited to offer our world-class infrastructure within a broader ecosystem and revolutionize the future of crypto."

The blog posting listed the benefits the acquisition could hold for both companies. First, it noted that Prime Trust's Nevada Trust Company will join BitGo's global network of regulated trust companies, which already includes entities in South Dakota, New York, Germany and Switzerland. In addition, the expansion would enhance BitGo's presence and regulatory reach. Furthermore, the blog described how Prime Trust's fintech API infrastructure and exchange network will reinforce BitGo's existing services, including custody, liquidity, settlement and compliance capabilities.

Mike Belshe, CEO and Co-Founder of BitGo, views the acquisition as a milestone transaction that will contribute to a more secure and sustainable future for the digital asset landscape. Belshe stated, "With the expected acquisition of Prime Trust, BitGo is well positioned to enhance its best-in-class, trusted solutions and to service the combined customer base."

The deal is still subject to regulatory approval, and further details regarding the transaction are yet to be disclosed.

Just recently, bitcoin-only exchanges Strike and Swan both announced that they would be moving away from custody through Prime Trust. Strike announced that it will be utilizing its own custody services, while Swan is moving to Fortress Trust and BitGo, Fortress Trust being founded by the former founder of Prime Trust, Scott Purcell. The acquisition announcement did not address or confirm rumors that Prime Trust is facing insolvency, which has been the center of speculation on Bitcoin Twitter.

Isolated Crocodile Gets Itself Pregnant and Has Virgin Birth After 16 Years of Living Alone "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Isolated Crocodile Gets Itself Pregnant and Has Virgin Birth After 16 Years of Living Alone

Crocodile With Open Mouth

Photo: leungchopan/Depositphotos (Not a photo of the actual crocodile.)

At the beginning of 2018, a female crocodile in a Costa Rican zoo laid eggs. While this is generally not an unusual occurence, this particular situation was quite the anomaly given that the crocodile had been living alone for 16 years. Crocodiles can lay infertile eggs, but this ones clutch (group) looked normal. One egg even went on to mature in an incubator. This, however, did not yield new life, a la Jurassic Park, and it bore a stillborn crocodile.

The natural question to ask is why this happened in the first place. In a newly published paper in the academic journal Biology Letters, a team of researchers gives an explanation. They report that the baby crocodile was a parthenogen, a form of asexual reproduction in which an embryo develops from an unfertilized egg cell. Essentially, this baby resulted from a virgin birth and only contained genetic material from its mother. This is the first time its been found in crocodiles.

Parthenogenogensis is not unheard of in the animal kingdom. Birds are known to reproduce this way, as are lizards and snakes, as well as elasmobranch fishes (which include sharks, rays, and sawfish). Crocodiles now join that list.

The discovery and analysis make it very likely that dinosaurs and pterosaurs also produced offspring via parthenogen; they are all part of a group of vertebrates called archosaurs. The earliest members of this group are the crocodylian and the most recent are birds, lead author Warren Booth explains. In between these are the pterosaurs and the dinosaurs.

The researchers in the academic paper are continuing to research crocodiles. In studying these creatures, they are sure to uncover new re...

Ukrainian Artist Polina Raikos House-Museum Likely Lost to Flood "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Due to the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant across the Dnipro River in Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine on June 6, the house-museum of Ukrainian artist Polina Raiko whose paintings were a unique example of Ukrainian Art Brut and monumental art is likely lost to a flood. The Kherson artist Semen Khramtsov reported on Facebook yesterday that the house filled with frescoes was underwater and that museum workers were evacuated and safe. There is a need for medicine, food, drinking water, Khramtsov wrote.

In a comment to Hyperallergic, Khramtsov shared that his sources residing in occupied Oleshky have confirmed that the building had been submerged, with only its rooftop visible above the water. As for the frescoes inside the house, the extent of their damage remains unknown, as some of them were painted over the wallpaper.

Raiko used her art as a way to cope with personal trauma, treating her house surfaces as a canvas. Everything in the house walls, ceilings, doors, and fence Raiko covered in enamel-painted drawings of fantastic birds and flowers, Christian iconography, and the artists own interpretations of her dreams and life events.

Hannah Gadsbys Picasso Show Is a Victim of Its Hype "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Its Pablo-matic: Picasso According to Hannah Gadsby had already been roundly denounced by the time I saw it at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. Yet, most of the people waiting to get in seemed excited, and the gallery was at capacity. The guy behind me was playing The Modern Lovers song Pablo Picasso to his friend while we waited for our tickets, which felt a little on the nose but maybe should have been a sign of how things were going to go.

I should preface by clarifying that this isnt another melodramatic takedown of the show. Its not a great exhibition, but its also not the catastrophe that some people have described. I was more annoyed than outraged: With a tighter grip on the reins and a clearer concept this could have been fun. As it is, the show is a victim of its own hype.

Right from the start, its not clear whether this is meant to be Picasso through contemporary, critical and feminist lenses, as the text outside the gallery states i...

Modern Homesteading "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

The number of farms in the United States has been in decline for quite awhile, but some are turning to homesteading,  where property owners use home gardening, lumber production and other subsistence skills to take more control over their lives during uncertain times.

The definition of a homestead varies. For the purists, it means living exclusively off what you can grow, hunt, build or forage. Some even learn leather tanning and make their own clothes from animal hides hunted on their land. But for most, homesteading is more about relying on a combination of self-sufficiency and community dependency. One might build a house out of timber from their forest, harvest vegetables from a backyard garden or eat eggs collected from their own chicken coops, but theyll also pour store-bought milk onto  cornflakes.

Homesteaders are motivated by a range of forces, from a longing to take more control over life to wanting to seek a better diet, says Jessica Shelton, editor of Homestead.org. Most of all, it provides an opportunity to pursue a home life on your own terms. Some are sick of the hustle and bustle of modern life. Others want to move away from commercialism and all the plastic packaging that comes with it. Others still want to have the cleanest food possible for themselves and their family.

The reasons people decide to pick up and head to the country or to begin a balcony garden in an apartment are almost as varied as the people themselves, she adds. Being a homesteader doesnt necessarily mean that you live on many acres of land and grow many crops. In some ways, being a homesteader is a state of mind just as much as it is a state of being.

Two hundred and forty acres of the southern Utah desert are being transformed into a glamorous glamping experience called OutpostX. Ten units with four different concepts cater to adventurous souls who are seeking a dreamlike vacation under the stars. After two years in development, construction is 80% complete and OutpostX is taking their first reservations on Indiegogo, with the intention of having stays begin in August.

Supporters can select stays at different types of lodging. One-bedroom options include the Zen Domes, which let you sleep until the stars thanks to 360 one-way reflective windows. Theres also the Sky Lodge, which has the feel of a treehouse in Bali with a private deck, drawbridge, and king-sized bed that hangs from the ceiling.

Two iterations of cave dwellings, the Cave Villa and Cave Lux, provide another type of experience. These two-bedroom options have beds on rails that allow guests to sleep indoors or under the stars. Panoramic windows and a bubble skylight allow guests to enjoy the outdoors even while relaxing inside.

All of the lodging options have a kitchenette and air conditioning, so there's no problem escaping the desert heat. There are also plenty of on-site amenities, including a private spa with a sauna, hot clay bath, a common area with hot tubs, an area for pottery making, in-ground trampolines, sand cruisers, and refrigerators stocked with whole foods. An on-site caretaker is also available to help guests make their stay memorable and, given its location nestled close to seven national parks, there is no shortage of nature to explore.

The Universe and the Soul: Richard Jefferies on Nature as Prayer for Presence "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

How to grow absorbed into the being or existence of the universe.

The Universe and the Soul: Richard Jefferies on Nature as Prayer for Presence

There are moments in life when something breaks open, something breaks free, something dissolves and resurfaces as large as the universe. Moments when we access what G.K. Chesterton called the submerged sunrise of wonder. Moments when we part what Virginia Woolf called the cotton wool gauzing our view of raw reality. Moments when the boundaries of the self fall away and we find ourselves in oneness with what Margaret Fuller called the All.

These are moments marked by William Jamess four characteristics of transcendent consciousness, most acutely by their ineffability. But once or twice a century, if we are lucky, a person emerges to articulate the inner pulse-beat of such an experience and, in articulating it, broadens the portal of possibility for the rest of us.

No one has captured the ineffable transcendence of such a moment more vividly and passionately than the great British nature writer Richard Jefferies...

A New Camera Lucida Redesigns a Centuries-Old Artists Secret that Lets Users Draw What They See "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ten years after Pablo Garcia released the NeoLucida, a modern iteration of a centuries-old drawing tool, the Chicago-based artist and designer has a new model. The NeoLucida Plus works similarly to the original tabletop device: simply peer into the small eyepiece, and see a shadow image superimposed onto the surface below.

Camera lucidas emerged in the early 19th century, and today, most vintage models come with large price tags. To use the device, artists look through a small prism that creates a ghosted reflection of the scene directly in front of them. Rather than relying on freehand sketching, the aid allowed users to trace an image and easily create accurate and proportionate drawings.

Garcias new model includes a redesigned prism that produces a brighter image, with an integrated shade lens and aperture control to adjust the light. The NeoLucida Plus is currently funding on Kickstarter, and rewards are going quickly.

SatoshiLabs Introduces Vexl Foundation With KYC-Free P2P Bitcoin App And Financial Tyranny Index "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

SatoshiLabs, the creator of the Trezor hardware wallet, has announced the launch of the Vexl Foundation at the BTC Prague conference. A press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine said the foundation aims to restore financial power to individuals and promote personal and financial freedoms. It takes a critical stance against KYC practices and, according to the release, believes that technology should empower individuals rather than control them.

The Vexl Foundation has also introduced the Financial Tyranny Index (FTI), which measures the extent of statist interventions in the financial space. Initial findings, according to Vexl, reveal high levels of financial state control in Western democracies such as France, Belgium, Canada and the Netherlands.

The Vexl Foundation's mission is supported by its mobile app, Vexl, which provides a private and secure platform for peer-to-peer Bitcoin transactions without KYC or institutional interference. Lea Petrov, CEO of Vexl.it, describes it as more than just an application, stating, "It's the embodiment of our vision for financial autonomy."

The board of the Vexl Foundation consists of individuals with diverse experiences, including Lea Petrov, Josef Ttek and Grafton Clark, as well as SatoshiLabs Co-founders Marek Palatinus and Pavol Rusnk. The release stated that they are dedicated to challenging the centralization of control and directing power back to individuals.

The foundation said it welcomes collaboration with organizations and individuals who share the vision of a free and open financial world. With donations and guidance from SatoshiLabs, the Vexl Foundation is aimed at inspiring a shift in the perception and interaction with digital finance.

Marek Slush Palatinus emphasized the need to revisit the principles on which Bitcoin was founded, stating, "The Vexl Foundation is our step towards that change."

Creepy Internet Posts People Say You Should Definitely Avoid "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Every once in awhile people on Reddit start talking about the creepiest or scariest places theyve accidentally stumbled on while surfing the internet, and you can never be sure if its going to be hauntings or graphic gore.

In these cases, its a little of both, so be warned before you go clicking on any links.

No way to unsee it.

I remember some a*hole posted a picture on Twitter of the youngest victim of the 2017 Stockholm terror attack right after the attack had happened. Twitter was quick to delete the post but the picture showed this 11-year old girl torn in half and I will never get that image out of my mind.

I was disgusted both by the picture and the fact that someone used this innocent victim of a terror attack for clout.

Hes ok now.

A video called dreamer heaven. It looked like it was filmed on a really shitty digital camera in the corner of a dark room. There was a very frightened young shirtless boy in the opposite corner with 2 men shining flashlights on him. The kid is screaming and crying while the men say things like you got a nice body on you. Wanna take a shower?

Every time the men moved a bit closer the kid would scream and try to retreat further into the corner, then the clip just ends. Most disturbing thing Ive ever seen.

Someone managed to find the origins. It was some dumb kid who basically tormented his younger brother along with his friends and posted videos of it online to promote his shitty mixtape.

Allegedly, the rest of the video they force him to stand under the hot shower for a period of time. Its still f**ked up but hes okay now.

Not fun.

Intuitive Astrology: Gemini New Moon June 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Gemini New Moon arrives on June 17-18, 2023, bringing the start of a new lunar cycle. New Moons are always our blank-slate point in the month. They are a chance to do things over, welcome new beginnings, and plant seeds for the future.

Leading up to a New Moon, the Universe can begin quietly (or sometimes, loudly!), drawing our attention to things we can revitalize or refresh in our lives. We may find our attention turning to things that are no longer working, or we may feel a growing sense of inspiration building around new ideas or ventures.

As the Gemini New Moon reaches its peak on June 17-18, the cosmic energies become ripe for setting intentions and taking action on any new inspirations that have found us. New Moons are always considered a power time to send out to the Universe what we wish to draw back to us.

But if we look a little deeper, there is some fog attached to this June New Moon, which may cloud our judgment or create a sense of uncertainty. We may feel the invitation to welcome the new and to start over on something in our lives, but it may feel difficult to know exactly what the path is.

Neptune, the planet of illusions, dreams, and spiritual love, is highly active under this New Moon and will cast its veil over the energy we are receiving. Neptune can make things seem what they are not. It can sometimes deceive us if we are not careful. When Neptune is involved, we have to be extra mindful of aligning with the truth.

While Neptune can create fogginess and confusion, the gift that it offers is deeply spiritual. Neptune clouds our outer world in an effort to draw us within. When we cannot see what is in front of us, we have to trust our inner judgment. We have to take one step at a time. We have to listen to the voice of our intuition and use that to guide us.

Neptune encourages us to trust ourselves. It encourages us to really listen to our inner voice when it comes to the next steps in our lives. Neptune is also connected to spiritual love, so if its hard to hear your intuition or trust yourself, start with self-love.

Allow the beautiful vibrations of Neptune to sink into your soul. To wrap you in divine love. Allow them to infuse and open your heart with the love that you are and the love that surrounds you. Remind yourself just how loved you are and then take steps to feel that love emanating through your being.

Love can be the tonic we need, especially when Neptune is involved.

Juno, the asteroid of partnership, is active under this New Moon too, so relationship matters could very well be on our minds. Juno is considered the Goddess of marriage, but her domain stretches wider than just romantic love.

Juno helps us to keep our independence in the partnerships in our lives. She reminds us to not lose our individual spark and to continue shining our unique light no matter the partnerships we find...

Beyonc and Blue Ivy Share an Empowering Mother-Daughter Moment on Stage During the Renaissance Tour

It's not often that we get to see a world-famous entertainer have a mother-daughter interaction on a big stage. That's why it's been so inspiring to see what has been taking place at Beyonc's Renaissance Tour. The CUFF IT singer has made her eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter, part of the show in a unique, empowering way.

Blue Ivy has joined her mom as part of her dancing crew. Clad in silver or red, depending on the show, the preteen leads her mom's dancers down the stage and shows off her moves alongside Beyonc herself, never missing a beat. She is given a boxing star-level walk out to the lyrics, This that kinfolk/this that skinfolk/This that war/this that bloodline, from the song MY POWER. She is usually given a roaring welcome by those who recognize her among the group of talented dancers. She then joins the other dancers on the high energy number BLACK PARADE.

Blue Ivy has been following her mom around the world for this tour. She was first spotted at the opening night of the tour in Sweden, where people joked that she had the air of  Manager Ivy who was there to make sure everything was running smooth.  In the end, the girl may have just been warming up to make her tour debut, which came during the Paris stop on May 26. After that, Blue Ivy has also joined her mom during her history-making five-night stint at Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London. Now, she is even listed as a dancer in the official tour credits.

Beyonc then proudly took to Instagram to celebrate that Blue Ivy has joined the Renaissance tour. My beautiful first born. Im so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel, she...

She Embarrassed Her Cousin And Got Them Kicked Out Of A Restaurant. But Was It Her Fault? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Screen Shot 2023 06 07 at 7.19.06 AM 1 She Embarrassed Her Cousin And Got Them Kicked Out Of A Restaurant. But Was It Her Fault?

I was born and raised in the Midwest. What this means, at its core, is that I will absolutely go out of my way to avoid confrontation and keep the peace whenever possible.

That doesnt mean I always agree thats the right way to go, because some people need nothing more than being put in their place.

OP, who is single and child-free at 25, was out to eat with her family. That family included a cousin who, at 29, recently had her third child. This one was with a boyfriend who also had a baby with his wife the same week as her cousin gave birth.

I F(25) dont have kids yet. I never really wanted them growing up but I figure Ill eventually have kids in the future once I get my life together.

My cousin Sarah (29) has two bad behaved kids from a previous relationship and a newborn baby with her boyfriend MJ (40).

OP had never eaten sushi before and so was struggling with the chopsticks. Her cousin was relentlessly (and cruelly) making fun of her, and doubled down when the waitress offered her the training wheel chopsticks they give to kids.

Last night my mother, sister, Sarah and I went to a sushi restaurant and this was my first time having sushi. After we ordered, I had a hard time using the chopsticks. My cousin started...

The Girl from Ipanema, has died at age 83. Known for her dream-like vocals, she is credited with helping Brazilian music reach a worldwide audience.

It was Paul Ricci, a fellow recording artist and family friend, who broke the news. I just got word from her son Marcelo that we have lost Astrud Gilberto, he wrote on Facebook. He asked for this to be posted. She was an important part of ALL that is Brazilian music in the world and she changed many lives with her energy.

The Girl from Ipanema is widely considered the second-most covered song in history, with the top spot going to Yesterday by The Beatles. It was written in 1962 by Antnio Carlos Jobim featuring original Portuguese lyrics by Vincius de Moraes. The well-known English lyrics were later written by American songwriter Norman Gimbel. Although it was first recorded by Pery Ribeiro, it was Gilberto's voice that turned it into the most famous bossa nova song in the world, as well as a symbol of Brazilian culture.

Gilberto was born in Baha, Brazil, in 1940. She was then raised in Rio de Janeiro, where she befriended a group of up and coming musicians. While she enjoyed singing with her closest circlewhich included de Moraesshe had never thought to do it professionally. I had fun doing it, and I enjoy being a part of it, she...

A New Video Reveals How a Traditional Japanese Noh Mask Emerges from a Block of Cypress "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Noh is the earliest theatrical art form in Japan and is still performed today. Developed in the 14th century, it often focuses on tales in which a supernatural being has transformed into a human and is narrated from the heros perspective. A core facet of the costumes is highly stylized Noh masks, which represent characters like deities, ghosts, and other figures, subtly emphasizing expression and emotion as their wearers turn in the light. A short documentary by Process X explores how the craft of carving the props by hand is kept alive by artisans like Mitsue Nakamura.

Starting with a block of Japanese cypress, Nakamura chisels the round face, eyes, nose, and teeth. Coated with a lacquer traditionally derived from crushed seashells mixed with glue, the form is then dried before being pierced on each side with a hot awl to tie strings through. The artist mixes pigments by hand to add color to the features, including blackening the teeth in a practice known as ohaguro, a fashion that was popular in Japan during the Heian period.

For some families and institutions, Noh carries a timeless and important legacy, and many historically significant and valuable masks, such as those made by the 15th-century Konparu school, are preserved in collections. The term face like a Noh mask is often used as a metaphor for expressionlessness, but the major characteristic of the world of Noh is that it expresses human feelings and inner thoughts rather than storytelling, says Nakamura in a statement. The better the mask is, the more the expression changes with a slight difference in angle.

Process X frequently goes behind the scenes with makers and artisans, including in this video documenting the making of artistic manhole covers in Japan. (via...

Molly "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

If you are contemplating self-destruction, please tell someone you trust. Immediate counseling is available 24/7 by dialing 1-800-SUICIDE or 988.

A Sunday afternoon in early spring. Wed spent the morning quiet, in separate roomsme in my office, writing; Molly on the bed in the guest room, working too, so I believed. Id pass by and see her using her laptop or reading from the books piled on the bed where she lay prone, or sometimes staring off out through the window to the yard. It was warm for March already, full of the kind of color through which you can begin to see the blooming world emerge. Molly didnt want to talk really, clearly feeling extremely down again, and still I tried to hug her, leaning over the bed to wrap my arms around her shoulders as best I could. She brushed me off a bit, letting me hold her but not really responding. I let her beitd been a long winter, coming off what felt like the hardest year in both our lives, to the point wed both begun to wonder if, not when, the struggle would ever slow. I wished there could be something I might say to lift her spirits for a minute, but I also knew how much she loathed most any stroke of optimism or blind hope, each more offensive than the woe alone. Later, though, while passing in the hallway in the dark, she slipped her arms around me at the waist and drew me close. She told me that she loved me, almost a whisper, tender, small in my arms. I told her I loved her too, and we held each other standing still, a clutch of limbs. I put my head in her hair and looked beyond on through the bathroom where half-muted light pressed at the window as through a tarp. When we let go, she slipped out neatly, no further words, and back to bed. The house was still, very little sound besides our motion. After another while spent working, I came back and asked if shed come out with me to the yard to see the chickens, one of our favorite ways to pass the time. Outside, it was sodden, lots of rain lately, and the birds were restless, eager to rush out of their run and hunt for bugs. Molly said no, she didnt want to go, asked if Id bring one to the bedroom window so she could seesomething I often did so many days, an easy way to make her smile. I scooped up Woosh,...

UK Financial Conduct Authority Clamps Down on Crypto Marketing "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The UKs Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) recently proposed some strict new rules for how crypto companies can market their products and services to customers. If passed, the regulations would clamp down on misleading hype and unrealistic promises, requiring more transparency and balanced information.

According to a release by the FCA, the new rules, which will apply to first-time investors in the UK willing to purchase crypto assets, will require companies to introduce a cooling-off period from October 8, 2023. The FCA has also opened consultations regarding the matter until the 10th of August.

New Rules For Firms Promoting Crypto Products Or Services

Essentially, the FCA wants to treat cryptocurrencies as high-risk investments as part of its post-Brexit financial strategy revealed in February. In 2022 alone, the FCA forced firms to rectify 8,582 misleading promotions.

The regulator is concerned that crypto newbies dont fully understand the risks of these volatile, unregulated assets. With the value of major cryptocurrencies fluctuating wildly, those promoting crypto must also put in place clear risk warnings and ensure adverts are clear, fair, and not misleading.

According to the announcement, firms promoting crypto products or services will need to include a clear risk warning such as: Dont invest unless youre prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong. Take 2 mins to learn more.

A comprehensive set of guideline consultations will be published, and it will clarify the rules that companies must follow to make sure that advertisements regarding cryptocurrencies are not misleading. In addition, promotions that appear to attract crypto investors, such as refer a friend programs, would no longer be allowed.

Astrophotographer Spends a Month of Sleepless Nights to Capture Rare Lunar Figure Eight

Month Long Composite Photo of Moon Phases Over Egypt

This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase, My Modern Met may earn an affiliate commission. Please read our disclosure for more info.

One dedicated astrophotographer was able to cross an incredible photo project off his checklist when he spent a month creating a lunar analemma, an asymmetrical figure-eight curve in the sky. This type of image often refers to the Sun, but can also be used by other celestial bodies. As they are very time-consuming and difficult to create, very few people have done so. Astrophotographer Wael Omar decided to create what he believes is the first analemma made by an Egyptian.

In layman's terms, an analemma is a diagram or photo that shows the position of a celestial body in the sky from a fixed position on Earth at the same mean solar time over a specific period. For the Sun, an analemma requires images each day for an entire year. For the Moon, the analemma can be completed over one lunar cycle, which lasts a month. In both cases, the resulting pattern is a figure eight, which is owed to the tilted, elliptical orbits of these celestial bodies.

To image the Moon correctly, Omar needed to research the proper position and then return each day, 50 minutes later than the last, to take his photograph. Not only did this require Omar to take off work, but he also had many sleepless nights waiting for the right time to take the photograph.

There were some cloudy nights, and I was a little lucky to see the Moon through [the clouds] when the time of the shoot came, he tells My Modern Met. I used a...

But beyond the taste and availability, the true brilliance of beets lies in their multifaceted health benefits. Now lets take a deep dive into the world of beets and how they can enhance your health, life, and culinary experiences.

The Nutrient Treasure Trove: Beets

Beets are truly a treasure trove of nutrients. This nutrient-dense root vegetable is packed with vital vitamins such as folate and vitamin C, as well as essential minerals like manganese and potassium. Moreover, it boasts a low calorie and high water content, making it an ideal inclusion in weight management diets. Its also a fantastic source of dietary fiber, aiding in digestion and overall gut health.

What Do Fishermen and Dietary Supplements Have in Common? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

A 40-year old case has given federal agencies a blank check to abuse their power, but all of that could be coming to an end. Heres what that means for natural health.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to reconsider a decades-old decision that, if reversed, will curb the power of federal agencies. In Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, the Supreme Court ruled that, when a law passed by Congress is unclear or ambiguous on a topic, courts should defer to a federal agencys interpretation of the statute. This makes it extremely difficult for anyone to challenge federal agencies interpretation of the law and has had a direct negative consequence for supplements and the natural products industry. Among the many possible results if the so-called Chevron doctrine is overturned, many potential avenues open up to challenge FDA and FTC interpretations that have limited access to and information about supplements.

The case that will be heard by the Supreme Court challenging the Chevron doctrine has been brought by a group of commercial fishing companies challenging a rule issued by the National Marine Fisheries Service requiring the fishermen to pay for the costs of observers that ensure regulatory compliance with federal fishing rules. While the law states that the government can require fishing boats to carry monitors, it does not specify who pays for them. But with the precedent in Chevron, lower courts hearing the fishermens case deferred to the interpretation of the federal agency, which said the fishermen should pay for the observers. Now the case will be heard by the Supreme Court, which will specifically reconsider its ruling on Chevron.

Its hard to overstate how game-changing this decision could be. Look back through the archives of the Pulse of Natural Health, and notice how many times we are writing about how the FDA or FTC are working to limit access to natural medicines. In many cases this is done through an overreach because the agency is taking liberties with the law. Here are a few examples:

  • Implied disease claims. Federal law allows supplement companies to make claims related to how a nutrient effects the structure or function of the body, as long as they arent claiming to treat or prevent a disease. But the FDA has denied many truthful claims because it interprets them as implied disease claims. So, the truthful claim that chromium lowers blood sugar, for example, is banned because, according to the FDA, this is an implied disease claim that chromium treats diabetes. This and other claim...

How to Spot Artificial Sweeteners Hiding in Your Food "IndyWatch Feed Health"

The FDAs new healthy guidelines incentivize companies to hide dangerous artificial sweeteners in food. Action Alert!

Recently, the World Health Organization released new guidelines warning against the use of artificial sweeteners for weight control, finding that long-term use of these sweeteners was linked with type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and mortality in adults. That many artificial sweeteners are dangerous and should be avoided is something weve been saying for quite some time. Unfortunately, our food is being pumped full of this stuff unbeknownst to many Americans and the problem stands to get far worse under new FDA policies about which foods can be considered healthy.

We recently covered the FDAs new proposed definition of healthy and all the things that are wrong with it. To be considered healthy according to the proposal, foods would, among other things, need to be under proposed limits for added sugars. Luckily for Big Food, but unfortunately for us, there are a host of artificial sweeteners that can be added to food to make it sweet but that dont have to be listed on the label as added sugar.. The FDA is giving the food industry a green light to pump hidden artificial sweeteners into our food and deceptively call it healthy.

Artificial sweeteners have been snuck into a wide variety of foods, many of which may surprise you. They are found in bread, yogurt, oatmeal, canned soups, salad dressings, condiments, snack bars, muffins, and more. Most concerning, an increasing number of products containing these sweeteners are being marketed to kids. The Big Food lobby has successfully ensured that only savviest health-conscious consumers will be able to identify when artificial sweeteners have been added.

Gene-Edited GMOs: The Answer to Superweeds Or A Covert Tactic To Avoid Regulation? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From Moms Across America

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have been a serious threat to human health for decades. Aside from creating nutrient-deficient food and contributing to illness in general, the environmental perils of genetically modified agriculture have centered around the chemicals used alongside GMOs, like Roundup. This is because these chemicals cause the development of superweeds and superbugspests that are impossible to fully control because they have developed resistance. But are gene-edited varieties the answer?

In the case of superweeds, the crops treated with Roundup are genetically modified to resist it so that farmers can spray everything ubiquitously, but to the farmers dismay the weeds, in turn, genetically modified themselves to resist Roundup toocausing superweeds.

Similar to superweeds, superbugs are insects that have developed a resistance to insecticidesa major problem for farmers, as insects can cause significant damage to crops. In some cases, farmers have to use even more pesticides and herbicides to control them, which can lead to further environmental damage and more toxic chemicals on our dinner plates. Some of the notable cases of insect resistance to Bt include certain species of bollworms, pink bollworms, diamondback moths, and corn rootworms.

When HDL is a Friend, Not a Foe "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From Ronald Hoffman, MD

HDL is the good cholesterol, in contrast to LDL, the bad cholesterol. Generally, healthy lifestyle measures like exercise and maintenance of healthy weight via a low-refined carb diet are associated with better HDL numbers.

By now Im familiar with the refrain: Doc, I know my cholesterols high, but sos my HDL. So I get a free pass from heart disease, right?

Thus went the conventional wisdom for a long time. It wasnt so much your total cholesterol, but the ratio between your cholesterol and your HDL cholesterol that determined risk.

In fact, data from the landmark Framingham Heart Study in the 1970s showed that, for a given level of LDL, the risk of heart disease increases 10-fold as the HDL varies from high to low.

For example, a person with a cholesterol of 240 mg/dLwhich is considered highbut with an HDL of 80 mg/dL, constituting a total cholesterol to HDL ratio of 3:1, might be considered to be at lower risk of heart disease than someone with a much lower satisfactory cholesterol of 180 mg/dL, but with an HDL of 30 mg/dL, yielding a 6:1 ratio (a ratio of 4:1 or lower has been considered favorable).

This is a dogma that I uncritically accepted until some new research findings forced me to adopt a more nuanced approach.

First, I had to acknowledge that there were some outliers. When I started to routinely order coronary calcium scans on my patients, that actually revealed the presence or absence of calcium in their coronary arterieshighly predictive of the eventual risk of heart attacks or need for stents or bypassI noticed that, while most with high HDLs were indeed free of plaque, some had considerable evidence of incipient atherosclerosis.

Millions of miles away from the Earth, the NASA Mars Rover Perseverance is collecting essential data that will help astronauts one day visit the Red Planet. For those that want to feel connected to this amazing piece of engineering, there is now a LEGO set that can help you recreate it on a smaller scale.

By assembling 1,132 LEGO bricks you can bring the rover to life in all its glory. The finished piece measures 9 inches tall and has 360-degree steering and a moveable arm. Additionally, like its real-life inspiration, the toy model can traverse uneven terrain with its six wheels and suspension. This allows for all sorts of imaginative play.

Makers can also download the Technic AR app for more information about Perseverance and its expeditions on Mars. It even shows what the weather is like on Earth's neighboring planet. Ive always felt passionate about space, and the design process let me explore my interest as I recreated the incredible engineering developed by the pioneering team at NASA, Luke Cragin, design at LEGO, says. We hope the models features and functions will help introduce young space lovers to the world of engineering and encourage them to reach for the stars in the future.

The Mars Rover Perseverance set will be available for purchase through the LEGO website for $99.99 starting August 1, 2023.

LEGO is releasing a new set based on the NASA Mars Rover Perseverance.

FUD Storm: Top 5 Market Losers In Heightened Uncertainty "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The market is currently experiencing a downturn fueled by an unsettling combination of FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). Adding to this challenging situation is the recent lawsuit filed against crypto exchange giants Coinbase and Binance by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Both Binance and Coinbase were charged by the SEC of being unregistered exchanges that sold unregistered securities, including Binances own digital assets, BNB and the Binance USD (BUSD) stablecoin.

As a consequence of this disheartening news, Binances netflow on the Ethereum blockchain has plummeted to a staggering negative $776.8 million.

This event led to the crypto market dropping over 3% in the past 24 hours at the time of writing as significant cryptocurrencies slid, pulling the entire market downwards. Meanwhile, Bitcoin, for its part, continues to languish below the $27k region.

Thus, these top five cryptocurrencies are a must-avoid for investors if they want to stay in the green this week.

Top 5 Losing Cryptos Amid FUD Storm

PEPE

Once the bringer of significant gains to investors has now succumbed to the bearish forces of the market, according to Coingecko, the token is now down over 13% in the daily timeframe, following the market slippage that started this week.

The tokens current trajectory puts it on a path for more FUD for investors. At the moment, PEPEs price oscillates above the $0.00000101 support range. With the bearish sentiment in the crypto market right now, it will take some time before bulls can knock a zero out of PEPE.

SAND

Despite a strong advertising campaign ahead of Paris Hiltons concert on the 7th of June, investors and traders confidence in SAND was shaken as major cryptocurrencies fell in price. Coingecko...
