U.S.A. TikTok Ban: What is the Potential Impact on Crypto and Finance Influencers? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

TikTok has been in the news recently as the U.S. wants to ban the app over fears of the Chinese government using it for surveillance, with Montana being the first state to officially ban the app. With 150 million Americans using TikTok, a blanket ban of the app could have a large impact on peoples livelihoods, especially those who rely TikTok for income.

At NewsBTC we wanted to analyze some of the biggest crypto and financial influencers on the platform to find out what they could potentially lose if TikTok is banned in the U.S.A.

TikTok Financial Influencers Potential Monthly Loss

From our seed list the financial influencer who could have the biggest loss in earnings is Tori Dunlap or @herfirst100k on TikTok. Dunlap has 2.2 million followers on TikTok and we estimate she could lose over $600k a month if TikTok is banned.

Another influencer who could see a massive loss in earnings is Vivian Tu or @yourrichbff on TikTok. With 2.4 million followers Tu is estimated to have a potential earning loss of almost $160k a month. Mark Tilbury @marktilbury is also set to lose a massive $108k a month if TikTok is banned.

Mundi the Elephant Is Rescued After 35 Years in Captivity and Moved to a Sanctuary "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Mundi the Elephant Is Rescued After 35 Years in Captivity and Moved to a Sanctuary

Mundi the savannah elephant under the sun with plants on the background.

An elephant named Mundi is finally getting her happy ending. After spending most of her life in isolation and questionable conditions, a group effort between Elephant Aid International and World Animal Protection has rescued the pachyderm and gotten her a brand new home where she'll happily be surrounded by friends for the rest of her days.

Described as a calm and curious creature, Mundi is a gentle giant standing at 8 feet tall and weighing 8,000 pounds. Born in Zimbabwe, this African savannah elephant was left orphaned by a government-organized mass culling in the 80s. She was then brought to the United States as part of a group of 63 young elephants in a rescue mission orchestrated by entrepreneur Arthur Jones, who housed them at his Jumbo Lair estate in Ocala, Florida, for two years. During that time, an altercation with another elephant left her with one blind eye and a permanently damaged tusk.

Sadly, the young herd was then broken up, and the creatures ended up being sold to zoos, circuses, and private individuals. Mundi was sold and relocated to the Mayaguez Zoo in Puerto Rico. Since her arrival in 1988, she has lived in an area of 15,000 square feet with access to an enclosed shelter. She spent 35 years living alone, as there were no other elephants on the premises.

In 2017, the governor of Puerto Rico ordered that Mundi and 10 felines were transported out of the zoo following concerns for their well-being amid an economic crisis. Elephant Aid International started making plans to welcome her at their Elephant Refuge North America in Attapulgus, Georgia. Although a contract was signed, the ousting of the governor in 2019 led to the project being canceled.

Still concerned for Mundi's wellbeing, Elephant Aid International pushed for the rescue of the elephant. The organization received no response for a few years. While the zoo had been closed for years after losing its USDA license due to a serious of violationswhich includes providing subpar care for their animalsthe creatures remained sequestered on the premises. Optimism Crashes 33% Following Token Unlocks, Why There Could Be More Pain To Come "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Optimism (OP) has been one of the hardest-hit cryptocurrencies over the last week as bearish sentiment around the coin rose rapidly. The reason for this was a massive amount of OP tokens that were unlocked this week, leading to significant buy pressure on the digital asset. However, the bearish trend does not seem to have ended yet given that the altcoin could see more buying pressure.

$600 Million Token Unlock Sends Optimism Spiralling

On Tuesday, Optimism saw one of its largest token unlocks when over 300 million were released into circulation. These tokens accounted for around 9% of the total OP supply, which was a significant amount to move into the market, especially during a bear market.

The coins totaling 386 million OP at the time were worth approximately $600 million. This meant that there was now $600 million worth of new potential selling pressure for the token and the altcoin began to respond before the unlock was live.

In the hours leading up to the massive unlock, OPs price first dropped around 7%. But then the unlock triggered further sell pressure and by the time the sellers were done for the day, the digital asset had already lost more than 20% of the value it began the day with.

Optimism (OP) price chart from TradingView.com

More Pain To Come For OP Holders?

While it does seem that OP sellers are starting to tire out, the bearish case for the altcoin continues. This is because the $600 million unlock was only the first unlock for core contributors and investors, meaning VCs and others.

Data from Token Unlocks shows that Optimism has another token unlock coming up at the end of June for a total of 24.15 million tokens. This means that a month from now, another $34.5 million worth of tokens will be unlocked. This 0.562% of supply may be smaller than the 9% unlock that took place in May but it will put selling pressure on the token nonetheless.

Ray Keller & Rob Potter Interview: Cosmic Rays Excellent Venus Adventure, Ascension Plans, The Beginning "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

https://rumble.com/v2r3kfe-rob-potter-interview-cosmic-rays-excellent-venus-adventure-ascension-plans-.html   Last week Prepare for Change had a fascinating interview with Raymond Keller and Rob Potter. Raymond Keller is known as Cosmic Ray and has chronicled life on Venus from time hes spent there about a 10-week period in the mid-1990s. Not only being among the Venusians but also traveling with the queen, Lady Orda to earth and back. Its a crazy story that inspired many tales from their arrival in 1954 at Giant Rock in the Californian desert. Before returning to earth, they took a detour back to the first Interplanetary Spacecraft Convention. We begin our conversation with a lively recollection about the events on the night of April 3, 1954. This was when at 11:40 PM, the craft operated by Ray and Lady Orda crash land at the campsite where the Interplanetary Spacecraft Convention was being held. In addition to Rays fascinating story we also cover many topics about our ascension. We learn that the Event is called the Beginning by the Venusians. We hear a warning from Ray about our young becoming too reliant on technology that we wont be able to adapt to change. Ray and Rob describe the meaning of Archon - and they get to what really matters. We learn about the conditions needed before full contact. Ray tells us that the Venusians are disappointed that we havent developed our powers more. We lear...

Jan. 6 rioters are raking in thousands in donations. Now the US is coming after their haul "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Less than two months after he pleaded guilty to storming the U.S. Capitol, Texas resident Daniel Goodwyn appeared on Tucker Carlsons then-Fox News show and promoted a website where supporters could donate money to Goodwyn and other rioters whom the site called political prisoners. The Justice Department now wants Goodwyn to give up more than $25,000 he raised a clawback that is part of a growing effort by the government to prevent rioters from being able to personally profit from participating in the attack that shook the foundations of American democracy.
An Associated Press review of court records shows that prosecutors in the more than 1,000 criminal cases from Jan. 6, 2021, are increasingly asking judges to impose fines on top of prison sentences to offset donations from supporters of the Capitol rioters. Dozens of defendants have set up online fundraising appeals for help with legal fees, and prosecutors acknowledge theres nothing wrong with asking for help for attorney expenses. But the Justice Department has, in some cases, questioned where the money is really going because many of those charged have had government-funded legal representation. Most of the fundraising efforts appear on GiveSendGo, which bills itself as The #1 Free Christian Fundraising Site and has become a haven for Jan. 6 defendants barred from using mainstream crowdfunding sites, including GoFundMe, to raise money. The rioters often proclaim their innocence and portray themselves as victims of government oppression, even as they cut deals to plead guilty and cooperate with prosecutors.
Their fundraising success suggests that many people in the United States still view Jan. 6 rioters as patriots and cling to the baseless belief that Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump. The former president himself has fueled that idea, pledging to pardon rioters if he is elected. Markus Maly, a Virginia man scheduled to be sentenced next month for assaulting police at the Capitol, raised more than $16,000 from an online campaign that described him as a January 6 P.O....

How Do You Get to the Point of Not Giving AF Anymore? Heres What People Said. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Sometimes in life, not giving AF is the best way to handle things and approach all situations.

Because theres no doubt that most of us stress out WAY more than we should and worry about things that we dont have any control over.

So how do you get to the point of not giving AF?

Check out what AskReddit users had to say about this.

Good advice.

When you apply the definition of insanity to a situation you have with a person you try over and over and over again and they dont change, nothing changes you finally learn to not care.

Dont waste your energy.

Ive had several people ask me how Im so chill essentially all the time.

The answer is I simply dont waste mental and emotional energy on worthless things or things I can do nothing about.

Seems like a foreign concept to some people. I care a LOT about the things I do care about, I would be miserable if I also attempted to care about every single other thing.

Take it as it comes.

I just read a passage in a book about cognitive behavior therapy, and chasing constant happiness creates the total opposite effect.

Its easier and better to process any emotions as they come and dont fight them whether positive or negative.

No stress.

Someone once told me stress is non existent, people can buy into it if they want. I refuse to.

I dont exactly agree with him, but I think about it often, and he was a VERY relaxed dude.

All part of the process.

As you get older, you have less and less f**ks to give.

You even get less back from ot...

Bitcoin Wealth Is Transferring From Old To New Hands, Why This Is Positive "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows Bitcoin is slowly moving from the old holders to new investors, a sign that could be positive for the market.

Bitcoin RHODL Ratio Has Been Climbing Up In Recent Days

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, this kind of trend is usually seen in the middle of cycle transitions. The Realized HODL (RHODL) ratio is an indicator that tells us the ratio between the supplies held by the 1-week-old holders and the 1 to 2 years old investors.

To be more specific, this indicator doesnt simply measure the amount of market cap held by these groups, but rather the realized cap. This capitalization method calculates the value of the supply by assuming that each coin is worth not the current spot price, but the price at which it was last moved on the blockchain.

Here, the 1-week old investors represent the youngest of the BTC participants, who have just bought their coins. Thus, the realized cap held by them provides hints about the wealth owned by the newcomers.

The 1-2 years old BTC investors, on the other hand, are a segment of the long-term holders, meaning that they are the more experienced players in the market.

Since the RHODL ratio compares the supplies of these young and old holders (though, only some segments of them), it can deliver insight into how these supplies are changing relative to each other.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin RHODL ratio over the last few years:

Bitcoin RHODL Ratio

As you can see in the above graph, Glassnode has marked the wider trends that the indicator has followed during the previous cycle as well as in the current Bitcoin cycle.

It seems like during the bear markets in both the previous and the current cycles, the indicator had been observing a constant downtrend. This means that the young investors had been leaving the market while the long-term holders had been accumulating.

This trend makes sense, as the young investors would constantly get into losses during a bear market downtrend, so a lot of them would quickly sell their holdings.

Following the bear market bottom formation in the last cycle, the Bitcoin RHODL ratio stopped its decline and soon reversed the trend when some fresh bullish momentum came in the form of the...

Did The New York Times Publish Manipulated Footage Of A Bitcoin Mine? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Level39, a researcher focused on Bitcoin, technology, history, ethics and energy.

Did The New York Times manipulate aerial drone photography for its recent article attacking Bitcoin mining, in order to make the air in Rockdale, Texas appear smoggy?

On April 9, 2023, the paper published its article, "The Real-World Costs Of The Digital Race For Bitcoin," which included attacks on Bitcoin miners who purchase energy through sanctioned demand-response programs within the states energy grid.

Sources: Twitter, nytimes.com

The article featured a sweeping hero video banner, which was also used as a still image for social media sharing, showing smog-filled aerial drone footage over operations run by Bitdeer, a Bitcoin mining company that occupies a previously-abandoned aluminum smelting plant on the outskirts of Rockdale. However, evidence suggests that the footage may have either been manipulated or lacks the necessary color grading that would have maintained photojournalistic integrity and adhered to ethical standards.

Color Histograms And Image Manipulation

Color histograms are useful for analyzing the exposure and color balance of an image. A color histogram is essentially a bar chart where the left side of the x-axis is black and the right side is white. The y-axis represents the number of pixels found in the image, for each part of the tonal scale between black and white. A properly exposed photograph, where the full spectrum of tonal blacks and whites are naturally found in a scene, will have pixels that span across the entire x-axis, from left to right. When color data fails to span the entire x-axis, it can show that either those tones were entirely unavailable to the camera sensor, or that manipulation was performed to purposefully omit those colors.

In the side-by-side comparison below, the color histogram in...

Shiba Inu: Whats Stifling The Meme Coin From Entering A Bullish Market Phase? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB), a popular cryptocurrency known for its vibrant online community and adorable dog-inspired branding, is currently facing a liquidity crisis. The situation has been persistent, with no signs of immediate improvement.

Despite its initial success and enthusiastic following, Shiba Inu has encountered challenges related to liquidity, which refers to the ease of buying or selling an asset without causing significant price fluctuations.

Liquidity crises can arise when there is an insufficient number of buyers or sellers in the market, leading to increased volatility and potential difficulties in executing trades.

Constrained Volume And Diminished Stability

The meme coin finds itself entangled in a liquidity crisis, which is primarily characterized by restricted availability of its tradable tokens. Insufficient liquidity jeopardizes the stability of the asset, creating a discouraging environment for potential investors and causing existing holders to reconsider their positions.

As a result, SHIBs upward price momentum is stifled, impeding its progress, and hindering its ability to enter an uptrend

Underwhelming APYs

Adding to the liquidity challenges, the liquidity pools associated with SHIB offer unimpressive Annual Percentage Yields (APYs). These lackluster returns serve as an additional burden for liquidity providers, as they are not sufficiently incentivized to stake their SHIB tokens in decentralized finance (DeFi) pools.

The unappealing APYs further contribute to the scarcity of liquidity, exacerbating SHIBs liquidity crisis.

Low TVL: A Sign Of Investor Mistrust

The Total Value Locked (TVL), which represents the total assets staked in SHIBs network or DeFi protocols, is another worrying aspect of the liquidity crisis. A low TVL indicates diminished activity within the network and is often interpreted as a lack of investor trust in the assets potential for generating yield.

This lack of engagement from investors acts as a deterrent, impeding the inflow of new capital into SHIB and subsequently curbing its price growth.

Shiba Inu Price

Shiba Inus price on CoinGecko stands at a minuscule $0.00000853, experiencing a 2.3% dip over the past 24 hours and a gradual seven-day decline of 1.6%.

Illustrator Shares Her Top Drawing Tips (And Two Things to Avoid)

Drawing is a practice thats all your own, but its always valuable to get tips from the pros. After all, theyve gone through hours upon hours of putting pencil to paper and have learned helpful tips and tricks along the way. Illustrator and My Modern Met contributing writer Margherita Cole is a prolific drawer who has shared with us her top suggestions as well as a couple of pitfalls youll want to avoid.

Cole's advice is great, whether youre just beginning your drawing journey or have been sketching for a while. Wherever possible, Cole tells My Modern Met, try to break down your subjects into simple shapes and create a good foundation. This will help you avoid the common mistake of adding too many details to your drawing too quickly.

She has another useful tip if there's something nagging you about your drawing, but you can't quite put your finger on it. If something looks off in your drawing but you cant tell what it is, she explains, one way to figure it out is to cover it up, imagine what the drawing should look like, uncover it, and see if what you drew matches up to your imagination.

Variety in subject matter is also vital. Practice is important, but make sure you practice drawing different subjects as well. Keeping a sketchbook can help you keep track of your progress. And dont expect too much of yourself while you learn or try a new technique. Avoid setting unrealistic expectations, Cole advises. This is an easy way to get frustrated. Making goals is good, but keep in mind that learning how to draw takes time, so you should always be patient with yourself.

Cole shares more of her expertise in her online drawing course on My Modern Met Academy. Titled Drawing 101: Learn the Building Blocks of Sketching, she teaches the fundamentals of sketching, allowing you to gain the confidence to draw any...

He showed my generation a vision of a black family with all the same normal family issues that my or any other white family had in a deeply human and loving context, while never clubbing us over the head with the message that at the core we are all the same, because it was just so obviously the case within the context of that show.

And not only that. Young me wanted to be a standup. And his special Himself aired in heavy rotation on cable back then, and was hilarious. What made it stand out especially to me was Himself was almost completely without vulgarity or blue material, unlike the two other prominent black comedians (whose specials I had secretly stayed up late to watch) Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. I thought they were very funny too, but thought Cosby was better because he could be just as good or better without all the bad words.

He was the guy who did Picture Pages and Fat Albert, which I loved. I felt so bad for him when his son was murdered, and sent a letter to him expressing that sentiment. I even admired his willingness later to stand up to what he saw as self destructive behavior and culture within his own community, even if I didnt agree with what he had to say.

And then the rug got pulled out from under me. He was a phony, a s** fiend, a liar, and a hypocrite, who had re...

Kraftwerks The Robots Performed by German 1st Graders in Cute Cardboard Robot Costumes "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Teach your children well sang Crosby, Stills and Nash once upon a long ago, and that adage could be paraphrased as make sure your students dont grow up learning substandard pop songs. Give them a real education. An enterprising elementary school teacher in Mombach, a district of the Rhineland city of Mainz, did so in 2015, dressing up his students from Lemmchen Elementary in their own handmade robot outfits and teaching them to sing the classic 1978 Kraftwerk hit The Robots (or Roboter if you own the German version, which you can hear below).

Folks, its time to talk about MEAT.

Yes, its not something that gets discussed too often, but a man took to TikTok because he felt particularly passionate about marinated meat that you can buy at grocery stores.

The man said that he saw a message from someone who claimed they worked as a butcher that claimed a lot of big-name grocery stores marinate and package meat to cover up bad smells and other issues with meat that is obviously not fit to eat.

If A Christmas Tree Has A Growth Like This, Please Leave It Outdoors "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Real Christmas trees might not totally be a thing of the past, but I would guess fewer and fewer people are spending a bunch of money on something theyre going to toss after a month of enjoyment.

If youre still holding out, touting the wonderful smell and the experience, heres something to look out for the next time youre making a selection.

If you saw something like this while you were stringing your lights or hanging your ornaments, you might dismiss it as an odd pine cone.

If you took a closer look, youd probably decide its not a pine cone, but you also probably wouldnt worry too much about it even though you probably should.

Because what it is, is an egg sac full of praying mantises.

Depending on which species, there could be only a few babies waiting to hatch to a few hundred.

Italy Raises Museum Prices to Fund Flood Aid "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The move comes amid worrying news of the impact of floods on Italys cultural heritage. In recent weeks, books and manuscripts dating back hundreds of years from the Trisi Library in Lugo and other devastated sites have been salvaged from the mess and transferred to Cesena to be frozen...

Painting Joy at the Deepest Point of Tragedy "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

LOS ANGELES As a teenager, Peter Krasnow fled the pogroms in Ukraine to study painting in America. His artwork responded to the times and his environment, from realistic depictions of his glum Jewish immigrant community to forlorn portraits in a post-impressionist style. But after Krasnow relocated to Los Angeles, his work transformed into bright, energetic hard-edge celebrations of life. This is the era celebrated in the exhibition, Peter Krasnow: Breathing Joy and Light at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Krasnow moved to Atwater Village in 1922 and quickly embraced the psychedelic nature of the California desert. His work long predates the Memphis movement, but utilizes many of the same colors and tones, making his art extremely on trend with our current Memphis revival movement. The driving force of Krasnows technicolor style, which he practiced unt...

New Keith Haring Exhibit at The Broad Is a Vibrant Showcase of the Artists Iconic Work "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

New Keith Haring Exhibit at The Broad Is a Vibrant Showcase of the Artists Iconic Work

Keith Haring Art is for Everybody at The Broad

An expansive exhibition at The Broad celebrates the iconic art of Keith Haring through over 120 pieces of art and archival materials. It's the first museum exhibition in Los Angeles to explore Haring's groundbreaking art and his impact on the contemporary art world. Fittingly, the exhibit is running at a time when Haring's close friend Jean-Michel Basquiat is also getting the spotlight next door in his own show at the Grand LA.

Titled Art is for Everybody, the exhibition runs through October 8, 2023, and is an incredible way to see the wide scope of Haring's work. Haring, who moved to New York City to study art in 1978, saw art as something that should engage the public. And from his earliest subway drawings, he was keen to use his talent to make his art accessible. Working as part of New York's counterculture scene, Haring found himself in the mix with creatives like Basquiat, Kenny Scharf, and Andy Warhol.

Eli and Edythe Broad were early collectors of Haring's work, purchasing their first pieces in 1982. This early support makes The Broad a perfect fit for the exhibition. Major works held in the Broad collection, such as Untitled, 1984, and Red Room, 1988, are on view. In addition, the exhibition is filled out by key loans from many institutional and private collections, including art, ephemera, and documentation provided by the Keith Haring Foundation in New York, established by the artist in 1989.

Woodsy Cabins in the UK "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

www.thetimes.co.uk has reviewed a number of possible cabin stays in the UK, and I have selected a few of the more rustic of these to show you.

Rekindling our relationship with nature is vital to promoting care of the environment. The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in Europe (as Sir David Attenborough says, they have lost 97 per cent of the wildflower meadows; the rivers are full of sewage; and farmland birds are in slow but steady decline).

Touching and viewing flowers, trees, and soil can lead to fundamental and beneficial physiological changes; lying on the grass or leaning against an ancient tree trunk helps us to feel calmer and happier. The joy of a cabin stay lies in its simplicity, in switching off the clutter of daily life.

Forest Gardens hand-built log cabins set things up for slowing down large verandas, woodland views, fire pits. Orinoco Cabin sits next to a coppiced hazel woodland, filled with birdsong year-round, and the western red cedar walls scent the air.

Experts Warn That If You Smell A Strong Chlorine Odor In A Pool, You Should Probably Get The F Out "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

<p>We are sorry to have to break the news to you, but the odor that you name <em>chlorine</em> at the swimming pool is not, in reality, coming from the disinfectant that is called chlorine.</p> <p>In point of fact, you should probably get out of the pool totally if it stinks too strongly of <em>chlorine,</em> since this is the consequence of something called <em>chloramines.</em></p> <p>Although chlorinated water may have a minor chemical odor that is detectable in pools without proper ventilation, this odor is not caused by chlorine. But chloramines, which <a href= "https://web.archive.org/web/20160308024348/https://chlorine.americanchemistry.com/Science-Center/Chlorine-Compound-of-the-Month-Library/Chloramines-Understanding-Pool-Smell/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">form when chlorine combines with ammonia</a> in swimmers perspiration, body oils, and urine, and may pose a health risk.</p> <p>The stronger the smell, the dirtier the water is. Sorry folks. Public pools are basically giant toilets.</p> <p>Monochloramine, dichloramine, and trichloramine are all derived from ammonia by substituting chlorine for one, two, or three of the hydrogen ions.</p> <p>The first is a disinfectant that is occasionally added to swimming pools, while the second and third are what you have been referring to as the <em>chlorine smell,</em> as <a href= "https://web.archive.org/web/20160308024348/https://chlorine.americanchemistry.com/Science-Center/Chlorine-Compound-of-the-Month-Library/Chloramines-Understanding-Pool-Smell/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">stated</a> by the American Chemistry Council.</p> <p>In point of fact, the fouler the odor coming from the pool, the less free chlorine there is in the water, which indicates that it is time to add more chlorine to the pool in order to properly disinfect it.</p> <p><em>It is good advice,</em> the <a href= "https://waterandhealth.org/healthy-pools/busting-chlorine-swimming-pool-urban-myth/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Water Quality & Health Council explains, to stay out of the water when a strong chemical smell pervades the air around any type of pool, indoor or outdoor.</em></p> <p><em>It is true that the more urine there is to combine with chlorine, the higher the level of unwanted, smelly chloramines in the pool,</em> the Water Quality & Health Council continues. Following that thread, if chlorine is combining chemically with contaminants like urine, then it is not available to destroy germs in the pool that can make swimmers sick with diarrhea, swimmers ear and various skin infections.</em></p> <p>The question is, how much oil, perspiration, and urine are all of us seeping into the pools? Diary, 19941999 "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

I dont read my old work anymore. After a decade as a writer, I know exactly what itll make me feelcompassion, some pity; maybe there will be a phrase that Ill admire, but mostly Ill feel self-loathing. Last year I came across my diary from a summer when, five years after having arrived in Oklahoma as a refugee from Iran, I was determined to win a national championship in Tae Kwon Do so I could get in to an Ivy League university. It was the summer of 1994, and I was fifteen. I kept the diary because I was lonely, weighed down by money worries and shame of being Iranian, desperate to perform my Christian faith. I was anorexic and addicted to Tae Kwon Do, which I practiced for six or seven hours a day. Writing in the diary was a self-soothing mechanismI wrote down every kind word anyone said to me.

Reading it now, I feel gentler toward my old self, a version of me now nearly three decades in the past. I read her entries like I might read a daughters. Maybe when Im seventy, I will read my forty-year-old self with similar compassion. The most interesting parts of the diary come at the end. After that summer, I returned to the diary in 1995, 1997, 1998, and twice in 1999, and in each entry I seem appalled by my voice in the one before it until finally I give up and stop writing in it altogether. There was no chance of sounding anything but stupid to the Dina of the following year, though she was the audience I was most eager to impress. The penultimate entry, from February 1999, during my sophomore year at Princeton, reads: Note to Junior Dina: Dont read this crap anymore. Then, a few months later, scribbling a final entry on a locker clean-out notice: Ill always be a stupid kid. Good thing I realized that now.

Lisa Stevens Ceramic Sculptures Capture Coral-Inspired Motifs in Vibrant Color "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ceramic sculptures shaped like colorful coral.

All images Lisa Stevens, shared with permission

Ridges, florets, and spirals comprise the vibrant terrains of Bristol-based artist Lisa Stevens marine-inspired ceramics. On the surface of high-fired porcelain clay, she builds vivid hues using underglazes and stoneware glazes along with melted glass to achieve jewel-like details. During the past few years, she has expanded her coral-inspired designs, incorporating a wide range of shapes and emphasizing a spectrum of bright hues. My work has become more extreme with more fans, spikes, and branches, and now many pieces can be displayed on the wall, she tells Colossal.

Stevens enjoys working in series, including participating in The 100 Day Project, first with a series of skull-shaped tiles sprouting coral tentacles and currently making progress on a group of teardrop-shaped pieces. Using a range of tools, she spends a lot of time experimenting and learning new ways to employ them, so no two are the same. I stick to one basic shape but make each one completely different, she says. I will never find an end to the possibilities and wont get bored of looking for something new.

An unfortunate resurgence of human chorionic gonadotropin use for weight loss

"Some 55 years ago, English physician ATW Simeons1 proposed to treat obesity by administering human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Simeons protocol involves a combination of up to 6 weeks of a daily low-dose hCG injection and a very-low-calorie-diet (500kcal per day). Early hCG clinical trials showed mixed results for weight loss; however, in recent decades several randomized controlled trials demonstrated that hCG was no better than placebo, and experts concluded that hCG has no merit for weight loss.2 Thus, the use of hCG for weight loss is discouraged by legitimate clinicians who treat obese patients."

Anonymous artist Str4ngeThing harnesses the power of AI technology to create surreal fashion inspired by the Renaissance. His collection of Renaissance architecture footwear is an incredible showcase for the design results that can be achieved by using image generators. The towering high heels, sturdy boots, and loafers all incorporate elements of Renaissance architecture; but, at the same time, they look good enough to wear.

This footwear collection is a testament to the power of design and innovation using AI, writes the artist. Every piece in the collection represents a fusion of classical design elements and contemporary style, resulting in a truly unique and artistic expression.

This collection is also a true testament to the importance of creativity and innovation in the world of fashion. It demonstrates that with a forward-thinking approach and a commitment to excellence, it is possible to create something truly exceptional.

This incredible footwear is filled with the columns, niches, and decorative patterns that immediately transport us back in time. But at the same time, they are astounding examples of how AI can be used in creative thinking and inspiring designers to push their visions forward.

CBDC: Central Bank Digital Currency- The Plan (Please Share) "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Central Bank Digital Currency is the most comprehensive, far-reaching, authoritarian social control mechanism ever devised. Its interoperability will enable the CBDCs issued by various national central banks to be networked to form one, centralised global CBDC surveillance and control system. Should we allow it to prevail, CBDC will deliver the global governance of humanity into the hands of the bankers. CBDC is unlike any kind of money with which we are familiar. It is programmable and smart contracts can be written into its code to control the terms and conditions of the transaction. Policy decisions and broader policy agendas, restricting our lives as desired, can be enforced using CBDC without any need of legislation. Democratic accountability, already a farcical concept, will become literally meaningless. CBDC will enable genuinely unprecedented levels of surveillance, as every transaction we make will be monitored and controlled. Not just the products, goods and services we buy, even the transactions we make with each other will be overseen by the central bankers of the global governance state. Data gathering will expand to encompass every aspect of our lives. Still don't believe it? Please watch the below video to better understand the real "Plan" behind it all... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z32o2II4ZJA

Temples of Books Is an Ode to the Grandeur and Democratic Ideals of Public Libraries "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In the U.S., libraries have increasingly been attacked by the far right as part of a movement to impose unjust book bans and protest diversity and inclusion efforts. Although the public institutions are sites of contention at the moment, theyve historically functioned as beacons of knowledge and democracy, spaces that are free and open to all.

A recent book published by Gestalten returns to the fundamental beauty and communal nature of libraries, traveling the globe to visit some of the most alluring places. Written by Marianne Julia Strauss, Temples of Books: Magnificent Libraries Around the World celebrates the stunning architecture and quietude associated with wandering the stacks. From the exuberant Manueline style of Real Gabinete Portugues de Leitura in Rio de Janeiro to the modern concrete-and-wood structure of Phillips Exeter Academy Library, the volume encompasses a vast range of aesthetics and eras across more than 40 physical and virtual locations on six continents.

Positioning these spaces as intellectual havens, Temples of Books highlights their wide array of offerings, including botanic gardens, archival repositories, and of course, r...

Astrophotographer Spends Months Planning Impossible Blended Panorama of the Milky Way Arches "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Astrophotographer Spends Months Planning Impossible Blended Panorama of the Milky Way Arches

Blended Milky Way Panorama by Mihail Minkov

After 30 hours of planning, travel, shooting, and post-production, acclaimed astrophotographer Mihail Minkov came away with the photo he was looking for. The stunning 360-degree panorama, The Eyes of the Universe, shows two double Milky Way arches that are only possible to photograph during a specific time of year. In Minkov's photo, we can see both the winter and summer Milky Way arches in all their glory, rising over a lake in the mountains of Bulgaria.

Minkov had been dreaming up taking such a photo for months and was inspired by the idea of seeing the arches side by side. While this is technically impossible, Minkov waited on location in order to photograph them four hours apart and then, in post-production, blended both arches together for the finished project. Though that may not seem the same as capturing them in camera side-by-side, even being able to see them one right after the other is quite rare.

This is a panorama that is extremely difficult to capture for a number of reasons, Minkov tells My Modern Met. It can be done only in one month during the year, and this month is March because the two arches should be at the exact degrees, not too high above the horizon, so its possible to be captured with a camera, and both arches should have the same degrees, so they look equal when I put them close to each other. The other very important thing is to have a clear sky and good weather conditions around the new moon, which I was extremely lucky with.

Using a program called Stellarium, Minkov began studying the phases of the moon in order to determine the best time to photograph the arches. He then needed to settle on a location without obstructions or light pollution in order to make his vision of a 360-degree panorama a reality. He ended up traveling three hours to the Bulgarian town of Shiroka Polyana, where a reservo...

United Kingdoms Biggest Clean Air Mural by Nerone "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The UKs largest clean air mural has been unveiled at The Bulb, Southampton, as part of the 3.5m transformation of Nelson Gate into a new STEM community hub by FI Real Estate Management.

The striking 1,005 sq m mural by French Street Artist Nerone, used Graphenstone CO2 absorbing paint. These unique lime-based paints absorb CO2 as they cure, as part of the natural lime cycle (the majority in the first 30 days following application). It is estimated that the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by The Bulb mural will be around 65kg a year; equivalent to three grown trees, making it the largest clean air mural in the UK.

The mural, which covers the Grade A office building has introduced a splash of colour and a tropical aesthetic to the city. Nerones signature tropical flowers which intertwine with female portraiture wrap the building beautifully.

Rachel Spelling Meticulously Fills Vintage Paint Swatch Booklets with Vibrant Miniature Paintings "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A paint chart with miniature paintings on the color swatches.

All images Rachel Spelling, shared with permission

A paint chart is ostensibly about planning colours for your home, but if you break it down, there are so many aspects to that: dreams, frustrations, happiness, sadness, loss, family, hope, despair, fashion, identity When you look at my work, you see a lot of ideas all at once, says Rachel Spelling. Prior to 2020, the London-based artist focused on home interiors and painting elaborate murals, including a six-month project to recreate the original Chinese wallpaper pattern of Pitzhanger Manor, the former country house of English architect Sir John Soane, which is now open to the public. Vivid flora and fauna stretch from corner to corner, carefully responding to the surface areaan approach that also happens to work well on a minuscule scale.

Fascinated by the possibilities of painting and drawing since childhood, Spelling has a knack for expressing vibrant detail at on a variety of surface sizes. During the pandemic when everything came to a stand-still, she was eager for a new project, sharing that one long lockdown day, I was at home with a really strong desire to paint some walls but no walls left to paint. There was a Farrow and Ball paint chart on my kitchen table, and I suddenly realised that each paint chip was like a tiny, perfectly prepped wall, just waiting to be painted. Commercial swatches designed to help homeowners and decorators choose colors transformed into a canvas ripe for interpretation.

3/4 Ton trucks (gas or diesel) what to look for? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Good morning Monkey's!
Last year the wife and I bought a travel trailer (RV, Camper, whatever you want to call it). We had to go with a "second" choice as the one my wife fell in love with would not be compatible with the tow vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Tundra. I knew going into this we'd have to watch the weight of the rig, tongue weight and cargo in the truck. Yes we are right at the payload limit of the truck and I can tell that we are pulling and at times the truck struggles, long up hills...

  • Shocking Protest: Pig Heads Sent to Mosque Site in South Korea

https://www.atheistrepublic.com/news/shocking-protest-pig-heads-sent-mosque-site-south-korea

Location: South Korea

In a shocking act of protest, severed pig heads were displayed at a mosque construction site in Daegu, South Korea. The mosque, intended to serve the growing Muslim international student population at Kyungpook National University (KNU), has become a source of friction between local residents and the university's Muslim community. While the need for a larger worship center was acknowledged due to a burgeoning student populace, resistance from locals resulted in a suspension order for the construction. Despite the Supreme Court overturning this decision, the controversy escalated. "Islamophobic pamphlets were distributed throughout the area, and rallies targeting our religion, Islam, were held," Muaz Razaq, a Pakistani Ph.D. student who also serves as the KNU Muslim communitys media representative, said in a media conference last April. This situation underscores the challenges South Korea faces as it grapples with evolving multicultural realities amidst a demographic crisis, and its pursuit of an immigration solution.

The tragic suicide of Sanghita Lakhra, a 28-year-old female engineer from Gujarat, India, has sparked a national debate about the outlawed and controversial Hindu tradition of Sati. Sanghita reportedly drowned herself in the Sabarmati River after facing alleged domestic violence and pressure from her in-laws to perform Sati, a ritual that involves a widow immolating herself on her husband's funeral pyre. Her purported suicide note tells a tale of relentless harassment, pushing her to prove her "good character" via this dangerous and banned ritual. Despite the ban imposed on Sati by British Governor General Lord William Bentinck in 1829 and further reinforced by the Indian government's Commission...

Lyrical Sculptures Fuse the Beauty of Nature With Elegant Human Movement "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Lyrical Sculptures Fuse the Beauty of Nature With Elegant Human Movement

Sculpture by Jonathan Hateley

All For One
The vibrancy of spring going into summer. All From One, was created after considering the molecular energy that we and everything around us are made from. I wanted to reflect nature in my figure, show our connection with it and bring it to the fore. At the same time I wanted to show the energy our bodies can display echoing that of plant life bursting forth, growing outward and eventually blooming. Its how we can feel, not necessarily physically, but with moments in our mind, like elation, or literally bursting with lifeor growth.

Theres a lyrical beauty in the figurative sculptures of Jonathan Hateley. Constructed out of hand-painted bronze and bronze resin, the pieces combine human movement with nature motifs. The elegant subjects are cloaked in leaves, webbing, blossoms, and more. They evoke unity with their surroundings, which are often among gardens or have the backdrop of a field or forest.

Hateley previously sculpted for models and effects in television and film while also creating props for musicals and operas. In 2003, he began to focus on his own work and perfected his process of casting limited edition sculptures that are each handpainted once formed.

While he has his technique down, that doesnt always mean the concepts come easy. I do like it when an idea comes from nowhere into my mind rather than having to struggle for days with my sketchbook to come up with something, he tells My Modern Met. Transience was like that. The blossoming cherry tree idea came to me while in a meeting at an opera company considering an exhibition in their auditorium.

Another idea materialized while reading. All From One, he shares, came to me while reading a Deepak Chopra book talking ab...

The planet should be ready for a disease even deadlier than Covid, the head of the World Health Organisation warned yesterday.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told the World Health Assembly forum that the threat of another public health crisis could not be kicked 'down the road'.

He also claimed that, despite the darkest days of the pandemic being consigned to history, a doomsday Covid variant with the power to send the world back to square one could still spawn.

In Geneva, Switzerland, Dr Tedros said : 'The threat of another variant emerging that causes new surges of disease and death remains. And the threat of another pathogen emerging with even deadlier potential remains.'

Despite Covid no longer being a global health emergency, the health threat is not over, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (pictured) told the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday

Sorry Our Demographic Karma Ran Over Your Economic Dogma "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Charles Hugh Smith at Of Two Minds Blog.

Your bogus economic dogma of growth via the wealth effect created the demographic karma that will bring down the status quo.

What happens when you bleed your workforce while enriching those who already own assets with one bubble after another, all in the name of fostering growth? To answer this, lets modify a felicitous phrase: Sorry Our Demographic Karma Ran Over Your Economic Dogma.

The Demographic Karma is young people can no longer afford houses, healthcare or children and so the birthrate plummets and the workforce shrinks to the point that the bloated, heavily indebted status quo collapses under its own weight.

Demographic-economic chartist CH summed it up very succinctly in a recent Tweet:

@Econimica: Asset/RE bubbles (of assets primarily held by elderly/institutions) must be maintained to avoid a banking/economic crashbut the price will be the ongoing collapse of families/birthssaving the present at the expense of the future (again).

This dynamic of Demographic Karma crushing Economic Dogma is global, as evidenced by this Tweet about Chinas demographic collapse and bubble economy:

@fuxianyi: Chinese policymakers now face a dilemma: if the real-estate bubble does not burst, young couples will be unable to afford to raise two children. But if the bubble does burst, Chinas economy will slow, and a global financial crisis will erupt.

The Economic Dogma holds that inflating one speculative credit-asset bubble after another is wonderful because each bubble produces a wealth effect in which those who inherited assets or bought assets in the past are greatly enriched by the bubble. Feeling wealthier, they then borrow and spend more freely.

This Economic Dogmathat bubbles are excellent pathways to growthis a form of trickle down economics in which the wealthy borrowing and spending more trickles down to the middle class and working class.

As the charts below show, this theory is baseless and bankrupt: the rich get richer and richer and everyone else gets poorer and poorer with each bubble. Whats growing is wealth and income inequality as the demographic consequences of this soaring inequality collapses the social contract.

Lets go through the chart deck.

    1. The US workforce is fully employed. Many expect a recession and AI will slash employment and create a pool of unemployed seeking work at low wages, but this isnt how it works. As Ill explain in a future post, the mismatches between the...

Shiba Inu Price Faces Dilemma As New Addresses Take Conflicting Positions "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) finds itself amidst a contrasting scenario. Holders of the meme coin and newly emerging addresses are taking conflicting positions, leading to a state of uncertainty.

Some long-standing holders remain steadfast in their belief in the tokens potential, having weathered its volatile journey thus far. On the other hand, fresh addresses, intrigued by the recent buzz surrounding SHIB, bring with them a mix of skepticism and curiosity. This contrasting sentiment within the community creates a dynamic landscape, ripe with possibilities.

However, there remains a glimmer of hope as the trust of whales and the potential for wider adoption may play crucial roles in shaping the future of the token.

New Addresses Up, Signaling Growing Interest In SHIB

The Shiba Inu ecosystem recently witnessed a notable development as the number of new addresses on the SHIB network reached 2,538 on May 26, according to Glassnode. This figure represents the highest influx of new participants or investors into the SHIB ecosystem since February.

Such a surge in new addresses indicates a growing interest in the SHIB token and potentially impacts the market dynamics. Furthermore, it serves as evidence of increased demand for the token within the crypto community.

Long-Term Shiba Inu Holders Face Challenges

While the entry of new participants is a positive sign for the SHIB ecosystem, the same cannot be said for long-term holders of the token. IntoTheBlock data reveals that approximately 78% of SHIB holders currently find themselves in a position of loss.

Emerging Trends: Older Women Opt for Younger Partners. Heres the Scoop! "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In the annals of human history, societal norms often dictated that women should secure matrimonial ties with older, financially prosperous men. This was a result of prohibitive laws preventing women from possessing assets, thereby creating a dependency paradigm. This, in turn, led to a societal bias against women choosing younger men as their partners. However, a significant shift is being observed today, as more and more women are courting younger partners. This evolution is a reflection of changing societal norms, corroborating the idea that dating paradigms are far from static.

The Rise of Female Independence: Reshaping Relationship Dynamics

In the contemporary world, women are exhibiting an escalating propensity towards dating men who are younger. A compelling survey found a striking 81% of women were amenable to having a relationship with someone a decade their junior. In parallel, 90% of men expressed no reservations about dating someone ten years their senior, thereby extending the potential pool of partners by dismantling age barriers.

A complementary study by the University of Michigan underscores this trend, showing that 31% of women aged between 65 to 70 were highly satisfied with their sex lives and remained sexually active. A portion of these women indeed had partners who were considerably younger. According to a 2003 poll, approximately 34% of older women are dating men younger than themselves.

Professionals Perspective: Unpacking the Dating Phenomenon

To delve into this dating paradigm, prominent news anchor Maria Shriver enlisted the expertise of relationship authority Julia Spira on the Today Show. Spira substantiated the increasing trend of women dating men younger than themselves, attributing this shift to the escalating levels of financial autonomy and liberty that modern women enjoy.

Spira highlighted a developing dynamic in relationships, where women no longer necessarily seek a financial equivalent in their partners, instead appreciating diverse qualities. To substantiate her points, Shriver hosted conversations with three couples, all of whom had the female partner as the elder.

XRP Bullish Signal: Address Activity Spikes To Historical Levels "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows the XRP active addresses metric has spiked to historical levels recently, a sign that may turn out to be bullish for the asset.

XRP Daily Active Addresses Has Observed An Uplift Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, address activity on the network reached its second and third-highest values ever during the last couple of days.

The active addresses indicator tracks the total number of unique addresses that are participating in some kind of transaction activity on the XRP blockchain daily. This metric accounts for both senders and receivers.

As the indicator only measures the unique number of addresses, it means that even if there are some addresses making multiple transfers on the network in a single day, their contribution toward the metric remains only one unit.

Unique addresses can be thought to be the same as the unique users visiting the blockchain, so the active addresses indicator can tell us about the degree of traffic that the network is observing at the moment.

When the value of this metric is high, it means that a large number of addresses are taking part in transfers on the chain right now. Such a trend suggests that traders are active in the market currently.

On the other hand, low values imply the network isnt observing that much activity right now. This kind of trend can sometimes be a sign that there isnt much interest in the cryptocurrency among general investors.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin daily active addresses over the last few months:

    Bitcoin Active Addresses

As shown in the above graph, the XRP active addresses had been at relatively low values during the past few weeks, but in the last couple of days, the indicator has suddenly burst into life.

Around two days ago, the metric saw its second-highest-ever daily spike, registering a value of around 490,000. This means that 490,000 unique addresses had been interacting on the chain during this surge.

Yesterday, the metric observed a slowdown and has since dropped down to a value of 281,000. This level, however, is still the third largest in the history of the cryptocurrency, meaning that activity still continues to be at historically high levels right now.

The only instance where a higher value than these spikes was observed (that is, the all-time high of the indicator) was back on the 18th of March. In the chart, Santiment has highlighted this partic...

Clever Enamel Pins Reimagine Famous Artists as Quirky Cats

    Artist Cat Enamel Pins

    Niaski | $12.50

Enamel pins are an easy way to spiff up your wardrobe and show off your individuality. For fans of art and cats, art studio Niaski has designed an array of quirky enamel pins that combine the two. Famous artists like Claude Monet and Henri Matisse are reimagined in the form of felines, making these pins ideal gifts for anyone who loves kitties and great works of art.

The quirky series Blue Catisse Cat pin pays tribute to one of Matisse's most famous projects, the Blue Nudes. Just like the French artist's series of color lithographs which depict bare human figures in a distinct shade of blue, this accessory features a stylized rendition of a cerulean kitty who is in the middle of cleaning itself. Similarly, the Clawed Monet pin references Monet's legacy of stunning water lily paintings with a pin of a black feline sporting a pink flower atop its head.

The Ren Mogritte pin is a nod to another great artist. Inspired by Belgian painter Ren Magritte, who is best known for witty Surrealist paintings, this accessory reimagines his The Son of Man. A yellow cat sporting a bowler hat is obscured by a floating green apple, just like in the original work.

The 3 Types of Tea That the Longest-Living People on the Planet Drink Most "IndyWatch Feed Health"

No magic potion or hidden fountain of youth exists, but studies suggest that diet plays a significant role in longevity. Dan Buettner, a National Geographic Fellow, bestselling author, and the founder of the Blue Zones, supports this claim through his extensive research. The Blue Zones, as identified by Buettner and his team, include five areas worldwide: Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece; Sardinia, Italy; Okinawa, Japan; and Loma Linda, California. These regions are believed to house the longest-living populations. Unsurprisingly, tea drinking forms a crucial part of their diets, contributing to their extended lifespans.

Teas health benefits have been extensively documented. Numerous studies have revealed its ability to support bone and brain health, particularly as one ages. For instance, research supports that consuming at least two cups of black tea daily correlates with prolonged life expectancy. This guide will elaborate on the three most common teas consumed in the Blue Zones, as revealed by Buettner.

Top 3 Longevity-Boosting Teas Inspired by Blue Zones

    1. Green Tea: In Okinawa, Japan, residents frequently enjoy green tea, known for its heart disease and cancer-fighting properties. Green tea is enriched with flavanols, antioxidants that can lower LDL cholesterol and enhance cardiovascular health. Other beneficial compounds include catechins, which combat free radicals, and L-theanine, an amino acid that may improve mood and cognitive function. Butterfly pea flower tea is another antioxidant-rich alternative.
    2. Herbal Teas: In Ikaria, Greece, local herbs are often used to brew teas, contributing to the rarity of chronic illnesses like dementia. The Ikarians diet also comprises beans, wild greens, olive oil, lemons, and potatoes. Some common herbal teas include mint for preventing gingivitis and ulcers, rosemary for treating gout, and artemisia for blood circulation. Laboratory testing of these teas revealed antioxidant properties and mild diuretic effects, aiding in waste elimination and blood pressure regulation.
    3. Milk Thistle Tea: In Sardinia, Italy, milk thistle tea is favored for its ability to aid digestion, store essential nutrients, and eliminate toxins. This herb is also linked to cancer prevention, inflammation reduction, heart protection, and liver health maintenance. Studies further suggest that milk thistle extracts can control chronic liver diseases.

    Tea Consumption and Longevity Statistics

According to the Tea Association of the USA, as of 2021, about 84% of the US population drinks tea. ......

The Salty Truth The Food Industry Doesnt Want You To Know About: Are Pink Himalayan, Sea, Celtic, Table Salt And Others All The Same? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

The flavor journey of our food involves various elements, and one quintessential ingredient that enriches this journey is salt. However, the taste adventure doesnt stop there. Salt isnt merely a taste-bud tickler, but a labyrinth of options, including pink Himalayan salt, sea salt, Celtic salt, and commonly used table salt. Each variant offers unique elements that contribute to their composition, sourcing, and health benefits.

This article aims to dismantle the salt matrix, diving deep into the fascinating realm of salt varieties. Well explore their unique attributes and the potential health impacts they may entail.

    What is Salt?

In essence, edible salt, or sodium chloride, has been an integral part of human civilization for centuries, playing pivotal roles in preservation and seasoning. Its contribution to food preservation revolutionized the transportation of food, facilitating the development of civilization.

The production methods for this essential compound can vary depending on its source, such as sea, mine, or lake, which in turn influence its flavor, size, and texture.

    Sodium Chloride and Sodium Levels

While all salt variants primarily consist of sodium chloride, different crystal structures and mineral content may affect how the body processes and utilizes sodium. Types such as pink Himalayan salt, sea salt, and Celtic salt can have slightly lower sodium levels compared to table salt, leading to less concentrated sodium intake. This could be advantageous for individuals needing to monitor their sodium consumption, but remember, moderation is key to maintaining a balanced diet, irrespective of the salt type.

Now, lets unravel the myriad types of salts and their distinctive qualities:

Presumably, there are a few classified documents he forgot to take and wants to complete the set.

However, according to most polls, President Joe Biden is currently quite an obstacle to those plans.

Whats a Good Movie Where the Bad Guy Wins? Heres What People Said. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Are you one of those people who roots for the good guys or the bad guys when you watch movies?

I guess it can go either way, depending on how your brain operatesand depending on what the move is.

Whats a good movie where the bad guy wins?

Check out what folks had to say about this.

    Good sci-fi.

    Upgrade.

Really enjoyed this one. Upgrade is what Venom could have been without the annoying wisecracking bloodthirsty cartoon character.

Came out same year, even. Plus its even weirder that both stars are doppelgngers?

    Great movie.

    The Usual Suspects.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was convincing people he didnt really exist. And like that..hes gone.

    A hidden gem.

    Primal Fear.

Edward Norton is incredible in that movie.

Richard Gere was too. When the realization hits, his face is perfect.

    Stunned.

    Arlington Road.

This is one of the only movies where the bad guy wins, and thats it, the end.

He doesnt d** and win like in Se7en. The baddies just trick the protagonist big time and win.

Leaves you feeling almost angry, stunned even.

    Creepy movie.

    Nightcrawler.

Interesting thing about nightcrawler is that the music was deliberately upbeat, life affirming, and triumphant when Gyllenhalls character is doing the worst possible things, but its because the choice was made that he is the hero in his own story.

All his worst attributes he sees as his strengths. Its another reason that film works so well and adds to the weirdness of it.

Traders Act Fast As Binance Australia Unveils Bitcoin Discount For Limited Period "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In an intriguing development for crypto traders, Binance Australia has introduced an exclusive Bitcoin discount, offering a unique opportunity for savvy investors. The platforms recent announcement comes in the midst of a countdown to a significant payment deadline, adding a sense of urgency to the offer.

While Bitcoin (BTC) currently trades above $27,000 on several exchanges, it traded at a price of AUD34,863 on (USD22,670) Binance Australia lower than its current price on exchanges. The limited period that comes with the discount has made some traders act fast so as to take advantage of the reduced price.

    Bitcoin Trading At A Discount

Recent market data has revealed an intriguing trend on Binance Australia, with Bitcoin and other digital tokens trading at a discount compared to rival exchanges within the country.

CryptoCompare data shows that Bitcoin traded at A$34,863 ($22,670) on Binance Australia, significantly lower than the average price on platforms like Independent Reserve and CoinJar. Notably, discounts of around 20% were also observed for popular tokens such as Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).

The discount on Binance Australia is closely linked to impending changes in the platforms payment withdrawal options. Starting from 5 p.m. on June 1, users will no longer be able to withdraw Australian dollars to their bank accounts using the popular PayID service.

This follows the platforms earlier loss of access to certain Aussie dollar deposit services, creating a series of challenges for cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Industry experts have weighed in on the situation, shedding light on the motivations behind the discounted Bitcoin prices. Richard Galvin, the co-founder of fund manager Digital Asset Capital Management, explains that Australian clients are selling Bitcoin at a discount to ensure they can withdraw their Australian dollars before the payment deadline. This urgency has created a unique opportunity for investors looking to acquire Bitcoin at a reduced price.

Furthermore, to ease the withdrawal process for users, Binance Australia has devised a solution. Following the payment deadline, Australian dollar balances can be converted into the Tether stablecoin, facilitating both withdrawals and trading activities.

The platform is actively seeking alternative providers to restore AUD deposit and withdrawal services, underscoring its commitment to offering a seamless user experi...

Pepecoin Eyes Rebound As It Finds Support In Strong Algorithm Data Score "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepecoin (PEPE) has recently experienced a significant development as it hits a crucial bullish order block (OB), raising hopes for a potential recovery opportunity. However, the ability to reverse the prevailing downtrend momentum is contingent upon an essential factor that holds the key to the coins future trajectory.

In a market characterized by uncertainty, investors and enthusiasts eagerly await the resolution of this pivotal element to determine whether Pepecoin can regain its lost momentum and chart a new course.

Evaluating Pepecoin Price Potential For A Reversal

Since May 24, Pepecoin (PEPE) has exhibited a positive response to the bullish OB. This encouraging price action implies a significant influx of buyers at this level, indicating that the bullish OB could serve as a crucial demand zone capable of triggering a potential price U-turn, especially if Bitcoin makes it past the key $28,000 region.

Nevertheless, PEPEs price movement currently faces constraints from both ends. On one side, there is the trendline resistance, while on the other side, the bullish OB acts as a limiting factor.

Should the bullish sentiment persist and bulls manage to overcome the resistance posed by the trendline, PEPE could endeavor to rally towards the 50% Fibonacci level, which stands at $0.00000160.

PEPE currently finds itself in the grips of a challenging market environment, with its CoinGecko price at a meager $0.00000136. The past 24 hours have witnessed a slight slump of 6.5%, further exacerbating the coins struggles, while the seven-day period has seen a significant decline of 13.6%.

French is known as the language of romance, a reputation that, whatever cultural support it enjoys, would be difficult to defend on purely linguistic grounds. But it wouldnt be controversial in the least to call it a Romance language, which simply refers to its descent from the Latin spoken across the Roman Empire. In that category, however, French doesnt come out on top: its 77 million speakers put it above Romanian (24 million) and Italian (67 million), but below Spanish (489 million) and Portuguese (283 million). If you know any one of these languages, you can understand at least a little of all the others, but French stands out for its relative lack of family resemblance.

Why is acqua just eau? asks Joshua Rudder, creator of the Youtube channel NativLang. How are cambiar and casa related to change and chez? He addresses the causes of these differences between modern-day French, Spanish, and Italian in the video above, which presents the historical-linguistic explanation in the form of a long and tricky recipe.

Tupac Hologram Still Just Hanging Around "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

INDIO, Calif. Eleven years after a mind-blowing hologram of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur took the stage at Coachella to perform with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, reports indicate hes still just kind of hanging around, not doing much in particular.

Not gonna lie, its pretty damn boring around here, said the Tupac Hologram, which still appears to be around 25 years old and glowing. When Dre and Snoop brought me back I thought Id be going on tour with them or back in the studio to lay down some realness, but it just didnt pan out. They unplugged me and went about their day. Now I just kind of kick it around here, and I gotta say, Indio is pretty fucking dull when the festival isnt going on, know what Im saying? Theres like one bowling alley, and my hands just pass through the balls. Im lucky if I get the chance to hang at a swap meet.

Orlando Benson, a Coachella Valley-area receptionist says the Tupac Hologram is well known to locals at this point.

I was a fan of Pac and was truly crushed so seeing him back up on stage in 2012 felt like a miracle, particularly since I was on a lot of molly at the time, said Benson. I guess we all expected that would be the end of that experiment, but nope. Everyone around here just kind of tolerates him now when he comes by work to just hang or like ask how iPhones work. Sometimes he just cries, and it makes me wonder what is actually going on. Its also super creepy when he glitches and his whole face turns into, like, pixels screaming in agony for a few seconds.

Barry Kovacs, a representative for Goldenvoice, the organization that runs the Coachella Festival, had no explanation for the continued existence of the Tupac Hologram.

When we contracted AV Concepts to create the Tupac Hologram we thought it would be a fun, one-time thing, said Kovacs. We certainly did not expect that we would be creating the worlds first, most bored self-sustaining hard light entity and we sure as fuck dont know how this is still going on. The hologram isnt connected to a power supply anymore, he must have rigged up his own battery, I just hope he doesnt turn violent.

The actual Tupac Shakur, currently living in the Presidential Palace in Cuba, declined to comment.

Man Asks if Hes Wrong for Taking His Brother-In-Law to Small Claims Court Over Art Supplies "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ive never sued anyone before and I really, REALLY hope I never have to.

Because it seems like a big nightmare AND a big headache.

So this guy mustve had his reasons for taking his brother-in-law to small claims court.

But did he go too far?

Read his story below and see if you think he acted like an a**hole.

AITA for taking my BIL to small claims court over art supplies?

A bit of context: I (29M) like to draw and try other mediums as well. As such Ive accumulated a lot of art supplies over the past few years.

My wife (Sally 27F) also dabbles a bit and we have converted one of the rooms in our home to an art studio of sorts. Theres easily a few thousand dollars worth of art supplies in that room and we tend to keep it locked for that reason. Most important to me are my pencils and markers which were not cheap (Chartpak for those who care).

Onto the story: Sally and I had her family over for her aunts birthday a few weeks back and my BIL and SIL brought their kids with them (7F and 6M). We had forgotten to lock the door to the room that day. About an hour into the party I noticed that both kids were nowhere to be seen, so I asked my SIL if she knew where they were. She said that they were drawing in the other room. I asked if my wife was with them and she said she (SIL to be clear not Sally) just told them which room it was in.

I immediately rushed over to the art room and found it was a total mess. Most devastatingly was the fact that all my markers were ruined because that kids were using way to much force casing the tips to fray. I yelled at them to get out and they started crying. My BIL ran over and started yelling at me saying theyre just kids and its just markers. I told him that the markers a...

Uh Oh: We Did Too Much Ayahuasca and Now Were in Queens of the Stone Age "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

We only landed a spot on the exclusive Ayahuasca Retreat last minute because Vice News had to unexpectedly pull out. Little did we know how much this little trip would change our lives forever in the form of a signed contract with Queens of the Stone Age.

After years of sharing paint cans and whippet chargers around, we naively expected the DMT not to have too much of an effect on our brains. We should have known we were in over our heads when everyone was rubbing the carpeted yurt with their bare feet before the ritual even began. Nevertheless, we kicked off our Docs, chugged that special brew, and lay back allowing the universe to swallow us into her.

As we got deeper into the vortex that had opened up inside us, I could hear a strange amount of chugging guitar and what sounded like the voice of a Mexican radio host. I didnt think too much of it until I looked over at my travel companion who was suddenly sporting a leather jacket and a pompadour. I had a sudden and overwhelming desire to get into a jet black 1953 Chevy hot rod with flames up the sides and drive as fast and as far into the California desert as I could. We both recognized at that point that we were experiencing the QOTSA effect.

They had warned us about this at the beginning of the ritual. Some more susceptible ceremony participants have been known to be pulled into the frequencies of the band who are always conveniently jamming right beside the retreat. Ever wondered how Dave Grohl ended up in the band?

Dont get us wrong, it was kind of rad to fall through a spiritual plane right into the middle of a desert rock jam session. We just thought ayahuasca was supposed to enhance our connection with our own spirituality and the world around us, not cause you to wake up with your hands trembling over a keyboard and Josh Homme sweating uncomfortably close to you.

I was a little nervous when they had us sign the contract in blood but another sip of ayahuasca and me and the boys are howling into our mics like its nobodys business! You can catch us on tour with the band later this year, at any date that doesnt require us to have a passport.

Deforestation Eradicating Teen Drinking Habitats "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

TIGARD, Ore. Reports indicate that urban sprawl and logging are decimating the forest preserves that once teamed with teenagers drinking alcohol stolen from their parents or procured using a fake ID, sources who are pissed they cant crush a Mad Dog tonight confirm.

I showed up to our usual spot at Fanno Creek Park to find that it had been bulldozed, local sixteen-year-old Eileen Soto said after stealing some PBR tall-boys from a local 7-Eleven. Where are we supposed to go now? It seems like every time we find a nice secluded spot to recklessly drink, capitalism swoops in and wipes it out. My older brother told me about these massive bonfires they used to have by Dirksen Park but that got turned into a stupid baseball field. I guess well have to settle for rotating garages at whoevers parents are out of town.

City officials, however, seem to not be concerned about the shrinking partying landcape.

Look, we have a new Costco coming in and we cant stop progress just because we are going to displace some teenagers, City Manager Sally Hubbard said at a condo ribbon cutting ceremony. We have done our due diligence here and there will be plenty of places for the teens to do their debauchery up by Summer Lake. We are proud of the beauty of our forests here in Tigard and the wildlife that comes with them, but we simply need more space. Also, Jesus Christ, I should probably be publicly denouncing underage drinking more. Dont do it, kids.

Earth scientist believe that the impact of deforestation is doing more harm than good on a social level as well as an ecological one.

If these teens dont have a proper place to drink and smoke weed, then they are going to spill out onto backyards, office parks, and high school football fields, said Harriet Brady, PhD student at Portland State University. We are talking about a collapse of an entire alcohol ecosystem that has been thriving since the 1960s. These kids need to have this space as part of their developmental process. Drinking in a forest is a right of passage for many of these kids, and without the allure of a semi-secluded forest where they can get bit to shit by mosquitos and suffer alcohol poisoning before they can legally vote, they will miss out on a necessary step of maturation.

As of press time, the county and the teens union representative have struck a tentative deal to relocate them to the abandoned mall parking lot until a permanent residence can be found.

The Pandemic Is Officially Over But Whats Next? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

In the words of the WHO, the pandemic is finally over The COVID-19 pandemic has been a life-changing experience for all of us. It has disrupted our daily routines, affected our economy, and left a long-lasting impact on our society. And I would say not exactly a positive one.

As we slowly emerge from the pandemic, many of us are left wondering what comes next. For those who have been preparing for emergencies, the answer is clear: continue preparing. Ratcheting up a few notches, for those of us who had the feeling something was coming back in 2018. Just check my FB page, and you will see.

    What did we learn?

The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that we need to be prepared for unexpected events that can disrupt our lives drastically within weeks. The pandemic forced many of us to face situations we had never experienced before, such as business closures, job losses, shortages of supplies, and limitations on our freedoms that we had for granted. Well, I mean you in the free Western countries. I had to quit and bug out way before the pandemic crisis hit, as you probably already know.

We have seen how quickly our way of life can change and deteriorate.

On the positive side, plenty of people could understand why and how important it is to be prepared for emergencies now. They are secretly working on their preps, and surely they wont make fun of preppers. Or not so loud.

Heres an overview of what we dealt with.

Filmmaker Alana Mediavilla On Bitcoins Energy Consumption, Education And Closing The Gender Gap "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Its no secret that those who feel threatened by Bitcoin will attack it. Just a month ago, The New York Times published a malicious article on Bitcoin minings energy usage. Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts has repeatedly attacked Bitcoin from a variety of angles, going so far as to launch an anti-crypto army targeting Bitcoin as a hazard to consumers, all while misleading the public on the environmental impact of Bitcoin.

These verbal assaults are not isolated and the examples above represent only a small piece of the uphill climb Bitcoin has to mass adoption. To put it mildly, Bitcoin is disrupting countless industries, making centralized authorities fearful of losing their monopoly on money and the power that accompanies it. Bitcoin essentially calls the bluff on corrupt bureaucrats and infinitely-inflatable fiat currencies that further enrich those who own assets while eating away at the purchasing power of those living paycheck to paycheck. Because Bitcoin is location-agnostic and capable of utilizing flexible loads, it naturally increases demand for the cheapest energy sources, which are often stranded natural gas or renewables.

So, why do many elected officials and companies attempt to denigrate and work to outlaw Bitcoin mining? Likely because their egos prevent them from understanding the value proposition of Bitcoin, but the facts speak for themselves.

Alana Mediavilla is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, business owner, filmmaker and Bitcoiner. She has a hell of a resume and a passion for storytelling. Armed with her knowledge of Bitcoin and skillset, Mediavilla decided to film and produce the documentary Dirty Coin, which highlights the value of Bitcoin mining while simultaneously busting the theory that Bitcoin mining is bad for the environment.

It was a privilege to hear her story and I know you will find her passion for Bitcoin inspiring.

A Woman Waited 20 Years to Get Revenge on a Mean Relative "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

    Its petty revenge time, folks!

And we have a feeling that this story from Reddit will make you cringe, smile, recoil in horror, AND possibly even laugh.

    Because its a wild one!

Take a look at this womans story and see what you think.

After 20 years, I put the petty revenge cherry on top of a baby poo sundae.

We had a family gathering over Easter, including my Aunty Dot and her daughter Louise and Louises family. Aunty Dot isnt related to us, shes married to my Uncle Len who came out to Australia on the same ship as my Dad, and theyve been like brothers ever since.

Im going to be blunt. I dont like Louise. If I had my own way, Id have nothing to do with her. But I love my aunt and uncle, and Im Uncle Lens medical decision maker, so I have to suffer her presence. (Uncle Len is in a nursing home because of his frail health.)

If I gave you the full list of my reasons for disliking Louise, Id never get to the petty revenge. But here are the edited highights. She does mean and hurtful s**t, and then brushes it off with, but I didnt mee-ean to, or I was only trying to hell-elp, or but Im just say-ing what I fee-eel. Including the time she tried to stop my sisters from going to my Mums funeral 20 years ago, because theyre fostered and not real family. The irony has been noted.

Shes also an Olympic hopeful in the heavy-weight competitive child raising event.

Aunty Dot and Louise arrived with a frilly green dress and matching bloomers for my 6 month old, Vampira (she has two teeth, and likes fingers). While I was settling the adult guests in, and handing out chocolate ovoids to the younger kids, my partner Martin, dressed Vampira in her new outfit. She looked like an adorably cross frog in a frock.

Aunty Dot had a cuddle, and asked...
