  • Shocking Protest: Pig Heads Sent to Mosque Site in South Korea

https://www.atheistrepublic.com/news/shocking-protest-pig-heads-sent-mosque-site-south-korea

Location: South Korea

In a shocking act of protest, severed pig heads were displayed at a mosque construction site in Daegu, South Korea. The mosque, intended to serve the growing Muslim international student population at Kyungpook National University (KNU), has become a source of friction between local residents and the university's Muslim community. While the need for a larger worship center was acknowledged due to a burgeoning student populace, resistance from locals resulted in a suspension order for the construction. Despite the Supreme Court overturning this decision, the controversy escalated. "Islamophobic pamphlets were distributed throughout the area, and rallies targeting our religion, Islam, were held," Muaz Razaq, a Pakistani Ph.D. student who also serves as the KNU Muslim communitys media representative, said in a media conference last April. This situation underscores the challenges South Korea faces as it grapples with evolving multicultural realities amidst a demographic crisis, and its pursuit of an immigration solution.

  • Widow Sacrifice Ritual: Indian Woman's Suicide Sparks Debate Over Tradition

Location: India

The tragic suicide of Sanghita Lakhra, a 28-year-old female engineer from Gujarat, India, has sparked a national debate about the outlawed and controversial Hindu tradition of Sati. Sanghita reportedly drowned herself in the Sabarmati River after facing alleged domestic violence and pressure from her in-laws to perform Sati, a ritual that involves a widow immolating herself on her husband's funeral pyre. Her purported suicide note tells a tale of relentless harassment, pushing her to prove her "good character" via this dangerous and banned ritual. Despite the ban imposed on Sati by British Governor General Lord William Bentinck in 1829 and further reinforced by the Indian government's Commission...

Lyrical Sculptures Fuse the Beauty of Nature With Elegant Human Movement "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Lyrical Sculptures Fuse the Beauty of Nature With Elegant Human Movement

Sculpture by Jonathan Hateley

All For One
The vibrancy of spring going into summer. All From One, was created after considering the molecular energy that we and everything around us are made from. I wanted to reflect nature in my figure, show our connection with it and bring it to the fore. At the same time I wanted to show the energy our bodies can display echoing that of plant life bursting forth, growing outward and eventually blooming. Its how we can feel, not necessarily physically, but with moments in our mind, like elation, or literally bursting with lifeor growth.

Theres a lyrical beauty in the figurative sculptures of Jonathan Hateley. Constructed out of hand-painted bronze and bronze resin, the pieces combine human movement with nature motifs. The elegant subjects are cloaked in leaves, webbing, blossoms, and more. They evoke unity with their surroundings, which are often among gardens or have the backdrop of a field or forest.

Hateley previously sculpted for models and effects in television and film while also creating props for musicals and operas. In 2003, he began to focus on his own work and perfected his process of casting limited edition sculptures that are each handpainted once formed.

While he has his technique down, that doesnt always mean the concepts come easy. I do like it when an idea comes from nowhere into my mind rather than having to struggle for days with my sketchbook to come up with something, he tells My Modern Met. Transience was like that. The blossoming cherry tree idea came to me while in a meeting at an opera company considering an exhibition in their auditorium.

Another idea materialized while reading. All From One, he shares, came to me while reading a Deepak Chopra book talking ab...

Prepare for a disease even deadlier than Covid, WHO chief warns "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

  • The WHO's Dr Tedros said threat of another pandemic can't be kicked down road
  • He unveiled new global scheme to spot and track the most dangerous pathogens

The planet should be ready for a disease even deadlier than Covid, the head of the World Health Organisation warned yesterday.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told the World Health Assembly forum that the threat of another public health crisis could not be kicked 'down the road'.

He also claimed that, despite the darkest days of the pandemic being consigned to history, a doomsday Covid variant with the power to send the world back to square one could still spawn.

In Geneva, Switzerland, Dr Tedros said : 'The threat of another variant emerging that causes new surges of disease and death remains. And the threat of another pathogen emerging with even deadlier potential remains.'

Despite Covid no longer being a global health emergency, the health threat is not over, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (pictured) told the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday

Shiba Inu Price Faces Dilemma As New Addresses Take Conflicting Positions "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) finds itself amidst a contrasting scenario. Holders of the meme coin and newly emerging addresses are taking conflicting positions, leading to a state of uncertainty.

Some long-standing holders remain steadfast in their belief in the tokens potential, having weathered its volatile journey thus far. On the other hand, fresh addresses, intrigued by the recent buzz surrounding SHIB, bring with them a mix of skepticism and curiosity. This contrasting sentiment within the community creates a dynamic landscape, ripe with possibilities.

However, there remains a glimmer of hope as the trust of whales and the potential for wider adoption may play crucial roles in shaping the future of the token.

New Addresses Up, Signaling Growing Interest In SHIB

The Shiba Inu ecosystem recently witnessed a notable development as the number of new addresses on the SHIB network reached 2,538 on May 26, according to Glassnode. This figure represents the highest influx of new participants or investors into the SHIB ecosystem since February.

Such a surge in new addresses indicates a growing interest in the SHIB token and potentially impacts the market dynamics. Furthermore, it serves as evidence of increased demand for the token within the crypto community.

Long-Term Shiba Inu Holders Face Challenges

While the entry of new participants is a positive sign for the SHIB ecosystem, the same cannot be said for long-term holders of the token. IntoTheBlock data reveals that approximately 78% of SHIB holders currently find themselves in a position of loss.

XRP Bullish Signal: Address Activity Spikes To Historical Levels "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows the XRP active addresses metric has spiked to historical levels recently, a sign that may turn out to be bullish for the asset.

XRP Daily Active Addresses Has Observed An Uplift Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, address activity on the network reached its second and third-highest values ever during the last couple of days.

The active addresses indicator tracks the total number of unique addresses that are participating in some kind of transaction activity on the XRP blockchain daily. This metric accounts for both senders and receivers.

As the indicator only measures the unique number of addresses, it means that even if there are some addresses making multiple transfers on the network in a single day, their contribution toward the metric remains only one unit.

Unique addresses can be thought to be the same as the unique users visiting the blockchain, so the active addresses indicator can tell us about the degree of traffic that the network is observing at the moment.

When the value of this metric is high, it means that a large number of addresses are taking part in transfers on the chain right now. Such a trend suggests that traders are active in the market currently.

On the other hand, low values imply the network isnt observing that much activity right now. This kind of trend can sometimes be a sign that there isnt much interest in the cryptocurrency among general investors.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin daily active addresses over the last few months:

    Bitcoin Active Addresses

As shown in the above graph, the XRP active addresses had been at relatively low values during the past few weeks, but in the last couple of days, the indicator has suddenly burst into life.

Around two days ago, the metric saw its second-highest-ever daily spike, registering a value of around 490,000. This means that 490,000 unique addresses had been interacting on the chain during this surge.

Yesterday, the metric observed a slowdown and has since dropped down to a value of 281,000. This level, however, is still the third largest in the history of the cryptocurrency, meaning that activity still continues to be at historically high levels right now.

The only instance where a higher value than these spikes was observed (that is, the all-time high of the indicator) was back on the 18th of March. In the chart, Santiment has highlighted this partic...

Clever Enamel Pins Reimagine Famous Artists as Quirky Cats

    Artist Cat Enamel Pins

    Niaski | $12.50

Enamel pins are an easy way to spiff up your wardrobe and show off your individuality. For fans of art and cats, art studio Niaski has designed an array of quirky enamel pins that combine the two. Famous artists like Claude Monet and Henri Matisse are reimagined in the form of felines, making these pins ideal gifts for anyone who loves kitties and great works of art.

The quirky series Blue Catisse Cat pin pays tribute to one of Matisse's most famous projects, the Blue Nudes. Just like the French artist's series of color lithographs which depict bare human figures in a distinct shade of blue, this accessory features a stylized rendition of a cerulean kitty who is in the middle of cleaning itself. Similarly, the Clawed Monet pin references Monet's legacy of stunning water lily paintings with a pin of a black feline sporting a pink flower atop its head.

The Ren Mogritte pin is a nod to another great artist. Inspired by Belgian painter Ren Magritte, who is best known for witty Surrealist paintings, this accessory reimagines his The Son of Man. A yellow cat sporting a bowler hat is obscured by a floating green apple, just like in the original work.

Whats a Good Movie Where the Bad Guy Wins? Heres What People Said. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Are you one of those people who roots for the good guys or the bad guys when you watch movies?

I guess it can go either way, depending on how your brain operatesand depending on what the move is.

Whats a good movie where the bad guy wins?

Check out what folks had to say about this.

    Good sci-fi.

    Upgrade.

Really enjoyed this one. Upgrade is what Venom could have been without the annoying wisecracking bloodthirsty cartoon character.

Came out same year, even. Plus its even weirder that both stars are doppelgngers?

    Great movie.

    The Usual Suspects.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was convincing people he didnt really exist. And like that..hes gone.

    A hidden gem.

    Primal Fear.

Edward Norton is incredible in that movie.

Richard Gere was too. When the realization hits, his face is perfect.

    Stunned.

    Arlington Road.

This is one of the only movies where the bad guy wins, and thats it, the end.

He doesnt d** and win like in Se7en. The baddies just trick the protagonist big time and win.

Leaves you feeling almost angry, stunned even.

    Creepy movie.

    Nightcrawler.

Interesting thing about nightcrawler is that the music was deliberately upbeat, life affirming, and triumphant when Gyllenhalls character is doing the worst possible things, but its because the choice was made that he is the hero in his own story.

All his worst attributes he sees as his strengths. Its another reason that film works so well and adds to the weirdness of it.

Traders Act Fast As Binance Australia Unveils Bitcoin Discount For Limited Period "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In an intriguing development for crypto traders, Binance Australia has introduced an exclusive Bitcoin discount, offering a unique opportunity for savvy investors. The platforms recent announcement comes in the midst of a countdown to a significant payment deadline, adding a sense of urgency to the offer.

While Bitcoin (BTC) currently trades above $27,000 on several exchanges, it traded at a price of AUD34,863 on (USD22,670) Binance Australia lower than its current price on exchanges. The limited period that comes with the discount has made some traders act fast so as to take advantage of the reduced price.

    Bitcoin Trading At A Discount

Recent market data has revealed an intriguing trend on Binance Australia, with Bitcoin and other digital tokens trading at a discount compared to rival exchanges within the country.

CryptoCompare data shows that Bitcoin traded at A$34,863 ($22,670) on Binance Australia, significantly lower than the average price on platforms like Independent Reserve and CoinJar. Notably, discounts of around 20% were also observed for popular tokens such as Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).

The discount on Binance Australia is closely linked to impending changes in the platforms payment withdrawal options. Starting from 5 p.m. on June 1, users will no longer be able to withdraw Australian dollars to their bank accounts using the popular PayID service.

This follows the platforms earlier loss of access to certain Aussie dollar deposit services, creating a series of challenges for cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Industry experts have weighed in on the situation, shedding light on the motivations behind the discounted Bitcoin prices. Richard Galvin, the co-founder of fund manager Digital Asset Capital Management, explains that Australian clients are selling Bitcoin at a discount to ensure they can withdraw their Australian dollars before the payment deadline. This urgency has created a unique opportunity for investors looking to acquire Bitcoin at a reduced price.

Furthermore, to ease the withdrawal process for users, Binance Australia has devised a solution. Following the payment deadline, Australian dollar balances can be converted into the Tether stablecoin, facilitating both withdrawals and trading activities.

The platform is actively seeking alternative providers to restore AUD deposit and withdrawal services, underscoring its commitment to offering a seamless user experi...

Pepecoin Eyes Rebound As It Finds Support In Strong Algorithm Data Score "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepecoin (PEPE) has recently experienced a significant development as it hits a crucial bullish order block (OB), raising hopes for a potential recovery opportunity. However, the ability to reverse the prevailing downtrend momentum is contingent upon an essential factor that holds the key to the coins future trajectory.

In a market characterized by uncertainty, investors and enthusiasts eagerly await the resolution of this pivotal element to determine whether Pepecoin can regain its lost momentum and chart a new course.

Evaluating Pepecoin Price Potential For A Reversal

Since May 24, Pepecoin (PEPE) has exhibited a positive response to the bullish OB. This encouraging price action implies a significant influx of buyers at this level, indicating that the bullish OB could serve as a crucial demand zone capable of triggering a potential price U-turn, especially if Bitcoin makes it past the key $28,000 region.

Nevertheless, PEPEs price movement currently faces constraints from both ends. On one side, there is the trendline resistance, while on the other side, the bullish OB acts as a limiting factor.

Should the bullish sentiment persist and bulls manage to overcome the resistance posed by the trendline, PEPE could endeavor to rally towards the 50% Fibonacci level, which stands at $0.00000160.

PEPE currently finds itself in the grips of a challenging market environment, with its CoinGecko price at a meager $0.00000136. The past 24 hours have witnessed a slight slump of 6.5%, further exacerbating the coins struggles, while the seven-day period has seen a significant decline of 13.6%.

French is known as the language of romance, a reputation that, whatever cultural support it enjoys, would be difficult to defend on purely linguistic grounds. But it wouldnt be controversial in the least to call it a Romance language, which simply refers to its descent from the Latin spoken across the Roman Empire. In that category, however, French doesnt come out on top: its 77 million speakers put it above Romanian (24 million) and Italian (67 million), but below Spanish (489 million) and Portuguese (283 million). If you know any one of these languages, you can understand at least a little of all the others, but French stands out for its relative lack of family resemblance.

Why is acqua just eau? asks Joshua Rudder, creator of the Youtube channel NativLang. How are cambiar and casa related to change and chez? He addresses the causes of these differences between modern-day French, Spanish, and Italian in the video above, which presents the historical-linguistic explanation in the form of a long and tricky recipe.

Man Asks if Hes Wrong for Taking His Brother-In-Law to Small Claims Court Over Art Supplies "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ive never sued anyone before and I really, REALLY hope I never have to.

Because it seems like a big nightmare AND a big headache.

So this guy mustve had his reasons for taking his brother-in-law to small claims court.

But did he go too far?

Read his story below and see if you think he acted like an a**hole.

AITA for taking my BIL to small claims court over art supplies?

A bit of context: I (29M) like to draw and try other mediums as well. As such Ive accumulated a lot of art supplies over the past few years.

My wife (Sally 27F) also dabbles a bit and we have converted one of the rooms in our home to an art studio of sorts. Theres easily a few thousand dollars worth of art supplies in that room and we tend to keep it locked for that reason. Most important to me are my pencils and markers which were not cheap (Chartpak for those who care).

Onto the story: Sally and I had her family over for her aunts birthday a few weeks back and my BIL and SIL brought their kids with them (7F and 6M). We had forgotten to lock the door to the room that day. About an hour into the party I noticed that both kids were nowhere to be seen, so I asked my SIL if she knew where they were. She said that they were drawing in the other room. I asked if my wife was with them and she said she (SIL to be clear not Sally) just told them which room it was in.

I immediately rushed over to the art room and found it was a total mess. Most devastatingly was the fact that all my markers were ruined because that kids were using way to much force casing the tips to fray. I yelled at them to get out and they started crying. My BIL ran over and started yelling at me saying theyre just kids and its just markers. I told him that the markers a...

Filmmaker Alana Mediavilla On Bitcoins Energy Consumption, Education And Closing The Gender Gap "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Its no secret that those who feel threatened by Bitcoin will attack it. Just a month ago, The New York Times published a malicious article on Bitcoin minings energy usage. Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts has repeatedly attacked Bitcoin from a variety of angles, going so far as to launch an anti-crypto army targeting Bitcoin as a hazard to consumers, all while misleading the public on the environmental impact of Bitcoin.

These verbal assaults are not isolated and the examples above represent only a small piece of the uphill climb Bitcoin has to mass adoption. To put it mildly, Bitcoin is disrupting countless industries, making centralized authorities fearful of losing their monopoly on money and the power that accompanies it. Bitcoin essentially calls the bluff on corrupt bureaucrats and infinitely-inflatable fiat currencies that further enrich those who own assets while eating away at the purchasing power of those living paycheck to paycheck. Because Bitcoin is location-agnostic and capable of utilizing flexible loads, it naturally increases demand for the cheapest energy sources, which are often stranded natural gas or renewables.

So, why do many elected officials and companies attempt to denigrate and work to outlaw Bitcoin mining? Likely because their egos prevent them from understanding the value proposition of Bitcoin, but the facts speak for themselves.

Alana Mediavilla is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, business owner, filmmaker and Bitcoiner. She has a hell of a resume and a passion for storytelling. Armed with her knowledge of Bitcoin and skillset, Mediavilla decided to film and produce the documentary Dirty Coin, which highlights the value of Bitcoin mining while simultaneously busting the theory that Bitcoin mining is bad for the environment.

It was a privilege to hear her story and I know you will find her passion for Bitcoin inspiring.

A Woman Waited 20 Years to Get Revenge on a Mean Relative "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

    Its petty revenge time, folks!

And we have a feeling that this story from Reddit will make you cringe, smile, recoil in horror, AND possibly even laugh.

    Because its a wild one!

Take a look at this womans story and see what you think.

After 20 years, I put the petty revenge cherry on top of a baby poo sundae.

We had a family gathering over Easter, including my Aunty Dot and her daughter Louise and Louises family. Aunty Dot isnt related to us, shes married to my Uncle Len who came out to Australia on the same ship as my Dad, and theyve been like brothers ever since.

Im going to be blunt. I dont like Louise. If I had my own way, Id have nothing to do with her. But I love my aunt and uncle, and Im Uncle Lens medical decision maker, so I have to suffer her presence. (Uncle Len is in a nursing home because of his frail health.)

If I gave you the full list of my reasons for disliking Louise, Id never get to the petty revenge. But here are the edited highights. She does mean and hurtful s**t, and then brushes it off with, but I didnt mee-ean to, or I was only trying to hell-elp, or but Im just say-ing what I fee-eel. Including the time she tried to stop my sisters from going to my Mums funeral 20 years ago, because theyre fostered and not real family. The irony has been noted.

Shes also an Olympic hopeful in the heavy-weight competitive child raising event.

Aunty Dot and Louise arrived with a frilly green dress and matching bloomers for my 6 month old, Vampira (she has two teeth, and likes fingers). While I was settling the adult guests in, and handing out chocolate ovoids to the younger kids, my partner Martin, dressed Vampira in her new outfit. Ethereum Price Key Indicators Suggest A Strengthening Case For Surge To $2K "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum price corrected gains from the $1,920 resistance against the US Dollar. ETH is currently supported and might soon aim for a move toward $2,000.

    • Ethereum is currently eyeing a fresh increase above the $1,920 resistance zone.
    • The price is trading above $1,880 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average.
    • There is a major bullish trend line forming with support near $1,880 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD (data feed via Kraken).
    • The pair could gain bullish momentum if it clears the $1,920 resistance.

    Ethereum Price Remains Supported

Ethereums price started a decent increase above the $1,800 resistance. ETH even broke the $1,880 level before the bears appeared near $1,920 and pushed the price lower, similar to Bitcoin.

There was a downside correction below the $1,900 and $1,885 levels. The price spiked below the 50% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $1,836 swing low to the $1,929 high. However, the bulls were active above the $1,870 level.

There is also a major bullish trend line forming with support near $1,880 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD. The trend line is close to the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $1,836 swing low to the $1,929 high.

Ether is still trading above $1,880 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average. Immediate resistance is near the $1,910 zone. The next major resistance is near the $1,920 level. A close above the $1,920 resistance could send Ether toward $2,000.

Bitcoin price is correcting gains from $28,400. BTC must stay above the $27,500 support to start a fresh increase in the near term.

    • Bitcoin is correcting gains below the $28,000 support zone.
    • The price is trading above $27,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average.
    • There was a break below a major bullish trend line with support near $27,720 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair (data feed from Kraken).
    • The pair could start a fresh increase if the bulls manage to protect the $27,500 support.

    Bitcoin Price Corrects Lower

Bitcoin price started a decent increase above the $28,000 resistance zone. However, BTC struggled to clear the $28,400 and $28,500 resistance levels.

A high was formed near $28,450 and the price started a downside correction. There was a move below the $28,000 support zone. The price declined below the 50% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $27,142 swing low to the $28,450 high.

Besides, there was a break below a major bullish trend line with support near $27,720 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair. Bitcoin price is still trading above $27,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average.

It is finding bids near the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $27,142 swing low to the $28,450 high. Immediate resistance on the upside is near the $27,800 level. The next major resistance is near the $28,000 level.

An upside break above $28,000 might send the price toward the main resistance at $28,500. A close above the $28,500 resistance zone might start a strong increase toward the $29,200 resistance zone. The next key resistance is near $29,400, above which the price might rise toward the $30,000 resistance.

Bringing the Magic: Making Sense Of The World With Mathmetizing "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

When I give out free books at community family events, I meet two categories of children. There are the children who live in homes with lots of books and are being read to daily. These children are instantly attracted to my book display and their eyes sparkle with joy as they pick out a new gently-loved book to take home. The second category is the children who dont joyfully respond to my offer for a free book and usually say, no thanks, I dont need any books. Sadly, books hold no magic attraction for children who dont own any books and/or have not been read to. They have not, yet, had the opportunity to fall in love with books.

I discovered that we can add the missing magic attraction to books for those children by creating story bags that contain a stuffie or other toy that matches the books cover. Heres how it works. When a child is holding a toy dinosaur,  suddenly there IS a magic attraction to that dinosaur book because now the book is relevant. The relevance is the magic. If a child loves horses, they will be attracted to a book with a horse on the cover. When you find out what a child loves, youll be able to find a book they will love.

Our story bags have become the hallmark of the Book Fairy Pantry Project and I am delighted to share that our magic story bags have gained community-wide support. We now get large donations (thank you all so much) of brand new Beanies, boxes of the zip bags we use, beautiful, very gently-loved childrens books, and sometimes, we even receive already created,...

     'Life Drawing' ,

Pablo Picasso had once said that "In drawing, nothing is better than the first attempt."

I am not entirely sure about that sentiment, at least not in the life drawing class that I attended this evening.  I hadn't been to life drawing class in about fifteen years and when I contemplated that thought I wondered to myself why that was so.  I had always enjoyed life drawing for it had taught me to look closely at the subject; every line, wrinkle, muscle ripple, shadow, shape of the human body and once that had been mastered I had the confidence to draw anything on the planet.

Nature repeats itself time and time again, shapes inherent in the human body will be seen elsewhere.

But back to Picasso, hmm, I'm not sure that the first attempt in the life drawing class is anything to brag about.  In Life drawing classes the poses are initially for a short time, and then they get longer to allow the warm up of the brain and the hand.  So in essence the first attempt in life drawing is just a warm up.

I had planned to use ink for the longer poses which were 20 minutes each and by then, I had been accustomed to the model's body-It's shape, posture and command of the space.  Every model commands the space differently, and will use their space according to their individuality, some will have props and others will lounge about or contort to exhibit the potential of the human form.

Women Need These Four Things To Thrive "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

In 1992, American author and relationship counselor, John Gray, wrote the seminal book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. It was one of the first books of its kind that claimed to highlight the fundamental psychological differences between the genders. Spending 121 weeks on the bestseller list, central metaphor became a part of popular culture, spawning stand-up comedy material, sitcom themes, apparel lines, fragrances, and even his-and-hers salad dressings.

Of course, the simplistic binaries and stereotypes of the nineties are no longer relevant today, and the book came under attack for several obvious reasons. But one thing is truemens and womens brains do differ, though not in the way that pop psychology may attempt to neatly categorize the distinctions.

Lets explore the male vs. the female brain. It may surprise you to discover some unique things that women need in order to succeed and thrive.

One of the amazing facts about all brains is that the left and right sides function quite differently, each side has its primary function.

The left side of our brain is very mechanistic; it is task-oriented, strategic, mathematical, and linear. The left side (or hemisphere) is what is referred to as the male brain. Im not implying that women are not strategic, mathematical, and linear, but research has found that men tend to operate from the left side of the brain more than the right, hence it is deemed the male brain.

The left brain is where a neurotransmitter and feel good hormone called dopamine lives.

On the odd time I have took my neighbours son to school with me when she had an emergency or she was feeding her baby.

Yesterday morning she dropped into conversation that they cannot keep affording to send their 12 year old to school via taxi anymore and as he has anxiety he cannot go by bus so will be needing to drive her to school and can I permanently take her younger son to school and in the afternoons pick him up and bring him home with me till 5 pm ish as she needs to collect baby from childminder and its becoming too tight.

Here Are The Top 3 Chinese Coins To Buy As China Leads The Bull Run "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

As June 1 draws closer and the Hong Kong and Chinese investors look forward to legally trading cryptocurrencies once more, the market has already turned bullish. So far, Chinese coins have led the pack when it comes to gains, so here are three of the most popular Chinese tokens likely to rally if the bullish trend continues.

    Neo (NEO)

Neo (NEO) has long been a favorite of Chinese investors and is often fondly referred to as the Chinese Ethereum. The cryptocurrency is one of the leading coins from the region so it is no surprise to see that it has moved back into the spotlight as retail traders are set to begin trading cryptocurrencies in Hong Kong on June 1.

The past week has already been profitable for its investors with 13.95% gains already recorded on the weekly chart. In the past day as well, the digital asset has seen gains of 3.34%, but there is still a lot of ground to cover before trading goes live. So NEO could present as a good choice for investors looking to take advantage of the new bull rally being led by Chinese investors.

NEO price chart from TradingView.com (China Chinese coins)

    Conflux (CFX)

Conflux (CFX) is one of the top Chinese coins for investors to keep an eye on during this time. Conflux is a blockchain company based in China and its native token CFX has seen much success this year. However, the drawdown in the price of the coin in the last month has not deterred investors and as the Chinese narrative gains ground, the token has grown as well.

Just like NEO, the last week has been a good one for CFX whose price has risen 9.96% to bring its price above $0.32 once more. The coins trading volume also crossed $117 million in a 24-hour period, indicating that investors are always investing in this token ahead of the anticipated June 1 date.

    VeChain (VET)

VeChain (VET) is one of the oldest blockchains in the space which was founded in 2015, the same year as Ethereum. And although VeChain hasnt grown as much as Ethereum, it hasnt been stagnant either and has become one of the foremost Chinese coins, making it a perfect candidate for those looking to take advantage of the present narrative.

Although VET hasnt performed as well as the others on this list, it is up nonetheless with 5.58% gains in the last week. It is also seeing a modest upside of 1.67% on the 24-hour chart, but the promise of more gains remains vast as the last two days leading up to June 1 could see these coins heat up very fast. If the trend continues, then VET could be l...

Bitcoin Options Hint At Fresh Rally?

Data from crypto options trading platform Deribit indicates a drop in Implied Volatility (IV). This metric measures the expectation of future price movements by market participants.

IV has been trading sideways over the past month, with a tendency to the downside. Deribit claims that growing uncertainty in the crypto market and the macroeconomic landscape is fueling the current dynamic on this metric, which translates into slow price action for BTC and crypto.

As the price of Bitcoin retraces, option buyers have been selling their contracts. When the opposite happens, and BTC sees an uptick, options sellers dump their contracts.

This dynamic has put constant selling pressure on the IV and contributed to suppressing the BTC spot sector. However, the upcoming U.S. debt ceiling, the date this country could default on its national financial commitments, could change the status quo.

The narrative around this event hints at a further appreciation for BTC and risk-on assets. Today, equities and crypto rallied as key political factions in the North American country...

The End of Tether? Why A Structural Shift In The Market Spells Trouble For USDT "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin in the market, with a market capitalization of over $86 billion as of May 2023. Despite the concerns about the current state of the cryptocurrency market, Tether has continued to dominate the stablecoin space, with its supply growing significantly since the beginning of 2023. However, there are signs that new competitors may challenge its dominance in the future.

    USDTs Reign Over?

According to the researcher and founder of DeFiance Capital, ArthurOx, one factor that may limit Tethers growth is the emergence of new stablecoins. As investors become more concerned about the risks associated with Tether, they are likely to seek alternatives that offer greater transparency and accountability.

For example, USDC (USD Coin) is a stablecoin fully backed by US dollars held in reserve by regulated financial institutions, and its supply has been growing rapidly in recent years.

Another factor that may limit Tethers growth is the emergence of decentralized stablecoins. These stablecoins are built on blockchain platforms, offering a decentralized alternative to centralized stablecoins like Tether.

Decentralized stablecoins eliminate the need for a central authority to manage the reserves, as the reserves are held in smart contracts on the blockchain. This offers high transparency and security and eliminates the risk of a central authority mismanaging the reserves or engaging in fraudulent activities.

One example of a decentralized stablecoin is DAI, built on the Ethereum blockchain. DAI is backed by a basket of cryptocurrencies held in smart contracts on the blockchain. This ensures that the value of DAI remains stable while offering high transparency and security.

In addition to these factors, there are also regulatory risks associated with Tether. The stablecoin has come under scrutiny from regulators in the US and other countries, with some calling for greater transparency and oversight. If regulators impose stricter regulations on Tether, this could limit its growth and open up opportunities for other stablecoins to gain market share.

Tether And USDC Show Resilience Amid US Debt Ceiling Drama

According to a recent report by Kaiko, USDT and USDC have shown little volatility amid the ongoing drama surrounding the US debt ceiling. Despite concerns over a potential US default, USDT and USDC saw little to no price movement over the past two weeks. This suggests that the markets did not view default as the base case scenario and that investors remained confident in the stability of these stablecoins.

The shipwhich collided with an iceberg in the early hours of the morning on April 10, 1912has held great sway in the public consciousness for the past century. Most recently, the 25th anniversary of James Cameron's Titanic film has renewed interest in the wreck. However, there is still much that is unknown about how the Titanic, and 1,500 of its passengers, met a tragic watery end. Magellan Ltd, a deep-sea mapping company, and Atlantic Productions are aiming to illuminate the wreck in full by creating a detailed 3D digital twin which may answer some of these lingering questions.

To create the model, the teams needed incredibly detailed scans. They embarked on the largest underwater scanning mission to date during the summer of 2022. From a specially positioned ship, submersibles delved over 12,000 feet below the surface to photograph and take video of the Titanic. The team collected 715,000 images and 4k videos for a combined 16 terabytes of data. This data captured tiny details like a serial number on a propeller as well as the ongoing state of decay as the wreck is slowly eaten by microbes.

Gerhard Seiffert of Magellan, noted, The depth of it, almost 4,000m, represents a challenge, and you have currents at the site, tooand we're not allowed to touch anything so as not to damage the wreck. And the other challenge is that you have to map every square centimetereven uninteresting parts, like on the debris field you have to map mud, but you need th...

The Ineffable Charm of an Artists Sketchbook "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In 2006, undergraduate art students Steven Peterman and Shane Zucker began the Sketchbook Project. Over the next 17 years, the initiative turned into a collection of over 50,000 works by more than 30,000 artists. Their contributions ranged from love letters and diary entries to graphic novels and intricately-detailed masterpieces, all inside the pages of five-by-seven-inch, paper-bound books.

After 17 years, the Sketchbook Project shut down earlier this month, in the wake of a catastrophic fire that destroyed almost half of the sketchbooks. Now, the remaining 35,000 are en route to four small institutions spread out across the United States and Canada.

Steven Peterman was a 20-year-old student at the Savannah School of Designs Atlanta campus when he started the project with Zucker.

Initially, we really wanted to pay rent and have a cool art space, Peterman told Hyperallergic. Like every 20-year-old wants to do. The two students cycled through a few ideas before striking gold: They would send artists sketchbooks to be returned filled with drawings and then stored in their space, at the time called the ArtHouse Coop....

Long-Lost Maya Kingdom Uncovered in Guatemala "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Scientists have uncovered an extraordinary network of Preclassic Maya multi-tiered cities, towns, and villages that date back to 1,000 BCE in Guatemala. The findings indicate a previously unknown culturally and economically complex kingdom-state, dispelling previous beliefs of sparse early human occupation in the Maya Lowlands and raising new anthropological questions about this ancient society, according to a research report published in the Cambridge University Press journal Ancient Mesoamerica in December.

Richard Hansen, an affiliate research professor at Idaho State University who led the research project, told Hyperallergic that the report demonstrates the existence of much more sophisticated and elaborate societies, thousands of years earlier.

When I first started in 1978 in Guatemala, the Preclassic Maya were [thought of as] hunters and gatherers, Hansen said.

Enigmatic Paintings Explore the Challenges for Women Fitting Into Todays World

Figurative Oil Paintings of Women by Martine Johanna

Netherlands-based artist Martina Johanna uses her distinct, expressive style to explore women's roles in society. This series, titled How to Eliminate Stress and Anxiety through Good Housekeeping, places female characters in colorful, dreamlike worlds that have multiple realities trapped in the same space. In this way, she explores the public and private perceptions of women.

Each oil painting features at least one female character who appears to wrestle with her surrealist surroundings in some form. A lot of the inspiration for these pieces comes from Johanna's own childhood. I grew up in an environment structured by traditional gender divides, rules, and roles, she tells My Modern Met. Cheap dime novels, TV programs, and fashion magazines, much like the screens and social media channels of today, provided an escape into an illusive and ethereal world filled with fairytale castles and savior princes.

While some of these characters are depicted trying to flee from their environment, others look into the distance with desperation. The playful color palette appears to add a sense of wonder to these contemplative narratives. The female protagonists in my work playfully exhibit the inner struggle between youthful naivety and adulthood to establish their own gender-driven identities and romantic inclinations while trying to fit into the world around them, Johanna adds.

Johanna's exhibition How to Eliminate Stress and Anxiety through Good Housekeeping exhibition is on view at the Massey Klein Gallery in New York until May 20, 2023. You can purchase prints of her paintings through her online store.

Jeff Bridges Says His Tumor Has Shrunk To The Size Of A Marble "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Jeff Bridges is a true fighter and a survivor. To this point, the actor has been successful in overcoming both an advanced stage of cancer and a severe case of Covid-19.

Bridges claims in a new cover story for AARP magazine that he was taking a break from filming his series The Old Man when he was doing some exercises while on the ground and felt what seemed like a bone in my stomach. Bridges was referring to the pain he had in his abdomen.

Bridges said that his wife, Susan Geston, had urged that he be checked out, but he was afraid to go to the doctors office since he wasnt experiencing any discomfort.

Im hiking and feeling great. My shins really itch, and I think, Oh, I just got, you know, dry skin, Bridges recalled. Then I had night sweats, but thought, Thats just hot summer nights. It turns out those are lymphoma symptoms.

The man, who is now 73 years old, claims that he had a tumor measuring 9 by 12 inches, and that he started receiving chemotherapy treatment for it.

Then, Covid struck him hard, which resulted in a hospitalization that lasted for five weeks, in part because the chemotherapy had destroyed his immune system. Cancer was nothing compared to the Covid, he said.

According to Bridges, at first he was prepared to accept the fact that he was becoming old and would eventually pass away. After that, he started to put more of an emphasis on the stoicism that he had acquired while playing Dan Chase, his character as a former CIA agent on The Old Man.

For me, in that hospital bed, the obstacle was death. And that was the way. I kept thinking, Heres the problem, you know? Heres the challenge, he said. I asked myself, How are you going to go about it? And I thought, Im a dancer, man, and Im a musician. Im going to jam with this situation, you know?

Now, Bridges claims that the size of his tumor has decreased to the size of a marble, that he has recovered from the side effects of Covid, and that he is shooting Season 2 of The Old Man.

I didnt think Id ever work again, really, he said. So at first I said, Well, well see. But eventually that became, Maybe I can. I have to admit that I was still frightened of going back to work. Then I began to think of my recovery as a gift being presented.

Fascinating Video Reveals How Florence Built the Worlds Largest Dome (At the Time)

    How was Florence's Dome Built?

    Photo: Baloncini/Depositphotos

Architect Manuel Bravo loves sharing his passion for history and architecture by creating informative videos about the world's most famous monuments. From the Egyptian pyramids to the Sagrada Familia, Bravo takes the time to break down everything you need to know about architecture and answers a lot of the public's burning questions. In one particular video, he focuses on one of the most well-known sites in Italythe Florence Cathedral. Specifically, he shares the fascinating story of how one architect stepped up to the plate and successfully built what was, at the time, the world's largest dome.

Construction began on the church, officially called Santa Maria del Fiore, in 1296. But the mystery of how to build the dome wasn't solved until the city held an open competition in 1418 aimed at getting the job finished. It was then that sculptor and architect Filippo Brunelleschi decided to try his hand at tackling the intimidating project. His project won the competition, in part due to a scale model his friend and fellow sculptor Donatello helped him create.

Brunelleschi would spend the last part of his life focused almost entirely on building the dome. Cleverly looking to the architecture of ancient Rome and, specifically, the Pantheon, for inspiration, he was able to execute his vision and give the city a cathedral worthy of its reputation.

Over the course of 13 minutes, Bravo narrates a fascinating video that breaks down the full history of the glorious dome. From the initial competition to the construction techniques and finishing touches, he uses his love for the top...

She Called Her Ex a D**dbeat in Front of His Family. Did She Go Too Far? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No one ever wants to get called out in any way, shape, or form.

Especially in front of your own family.

And especially if youre being called a d**dbeat.

    Yeah, that sounds rough

So did this woman act like an a**hole when she did this to her ex?

Read on and see what you think.

AITA for calling my ex a d**dbeat in front of his family?

I 41f have a daughter, Sam 14f with my ex husband Brian 44m. We divorced when she was 4.

Brian made a real effort to be a good father for the first couple of years after our divorce. But then pretty much overnight he seemed to lose interest in her.

He stopped coming to parent teacher nights, never came to any of her sports games and stopped asking about them, refused to pay child support (which I eventually stopped asking for, I have a well paying job), would forget to pick Sam up on days he said he would, stop asking to see her at holidays.

On the rare occasions he remembered to pick her up he would try and smooth everything over by buying her expensive gifts and it worked for a really long time but its started to wear off now and Sam is starting to see through it.

Sam has maintained a very close relationship with her paternal grandparents. Sam is a very accomplished field hockey player and represented our country internationally recently and its likely that she will be on the world championship team later this year. We returned 2 days ago and yesterday her grandparents wanted to take her and the rest of the family to lunch to celebrate.

Brain showed up 45 minutes late, didnt apologise. His parents were surprised, and told him to behave. As Sam was recounting her time and summaries of the matches to her grandparents Brain interjected and belittled her performance because she only scored 1 goal. Sam burst into tears and ran to the bathroom.

Welcome to the Hereford Mappa Mundi, or as one might call it: a view of the world from an Englishman in 1300. Complete with Biblical motifs, mystical creatures, and some true geography, the ancient map depicts a unique worldview. It is preserved at Hereford Cathedral in Hereford, England. The Mappa Mundi has been made available as a high-resolution digital map to explore; simply click on a location to be transported to the past.

Mappae mundi are a genre of medieval world maps. About 1,100 are estimated to have survived, mostly within medieval manuscripts. The map is drawn in ink on vellum in the style of the medieval T-O cartographic vision. This schematic divides the world into three quadrants within a circle to represent Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Americas would not appear on European maps until the 14th century Vinland Map and the Juan de la Cosa map (1500).

No All-Time High For Bitcoin In 2023, Former BitMEX Head Arthur Hayes Predicts "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In a recent podcast appearance, Arthur Hayes, the former head of BitMEX, delivered a sobering prediction about the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, Bitcoin (BTC).

Hayes believes that Bitcoins anticipated climb to an all-time high of $70,000 is unlikely to materialize this year, dampening the hopes of investors and traders. However, he points to a potentially bullish turn in 2024, driven by a significant event that could shape the markets trajectory.

Bitcoin Rise To $70,000 To Be Delayed

During an episode of the What Bitcoin Did podcast, Hayes shared his perspective on Bitcoins price trajectory. He indicated that breaching the $70,000 milestone is not expected to occur in 2023.

Instead, Hayes suggests that next years anticipated halving event will play a crucial role in determining the markets direction. While the delay may disappoint some, he remains optimistic about a potential breakthrough in the near future.

The former head of BitMEX believes that the upcoming 2024 halving, an event that slashes Bitcoins block reward in half, will be a pivotal moment for the market. He suggests that crossing the $70,000 barrier will likely happen during that time.

However, his long-term forecast raises concerns about an impending blow-off top in 2025 or 2026, potentially signaling a significant societal event or turmoil which he calls Armageddon. Hayes attributes this potential turmoil to factors such as excessive money printing and growing global discontent.

    Hayes noted:

We have got this halving next year, 2024. I think thats gonna be a good year. I dont think we get up to $70,000 this year. Next year is when we cross that barrier and then we get the blow-off top 2025, 2026. And then its Armageddon.

Listen to the Oldest Sheet Music: A Sumerian Hymn Over 3,000 Years Old

A drawing of the tablet bearing Hurrian Hymn No. 6. (Photo: Wikimedia Commons, Public domain)

Music may be as old as mankind, but the songs of the ancient past are largely lost to history. Among those to create and play music were the ancient residents of Mesopotamia. Within this cradle of civilization, history, laws, and religious texts were recorded in cuneiform on tablets. Many have survived, including an exceptional tablet: the earliest extant sheet music in the world. Known as Hurrian Hymn No. 6, the 3,400-year-old tablet records a tune in praise of the ancient goddess Nikkal.

The ancient Hurrians were a Bronze Age people of the Near East. They had a rich culture, although much of their history and origins remain shrouded in mystery. They left behind clues however, such as a tablet bearing cuneiform discovered in the 1950s in the ruins of the city of Ugarit in northern Syria. The city was a center of trade and exchange with other Near Eastern civilizations, and even kingdoms as far as Egypt. On the tablet are four lines of text in the Ugarit dialect. While the language is difficult to interpret, the Hurrian Hymn No. 6 is clearly the world's earliest extant melody or song.

The words of the song lie in the upper quadrant, while the lower contains the notes. Scholars believe that sections of repeated lyrics indicate a refrain. The Akkadian cuneiform below is a heptatonic diatonic scale for a nine-stringed lyre. They are known as musical intervals. While the exact translations are somewhat contested, Professor Anne Draffkorn Kilmer of the University of California, Berk...

Polkadot Experiences Correction After Reaching $5.54: Whats Next In Store? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Yesterday, Polkadot (DOT) reached its weekly high at $5.54 but subsequently started a corrective phase. In the past 24 hours, DOT has managed to retain 1.8% of its overall gains during that period. On the weekly chart, DOT exhibited a 3% price increase.

However, the technical analysis suggests that bears currently have the upper hand, with buying strength and demand remaining low. Despite this, if Bitcoin continues its upward movement toward the $28,000 level, several altcoins, including DOT, may also experience positive price action.

On the flip side, if sellers dominate, DOT could break below its crucial support level, strengthening the bearish sentiment in the upcoming trading sessions. The decline in the DOT market capitalization further indicates the prevailing low buying strength at the present moment.

At the time of writing, DOT was trading at $5.47. Following a rejection at the $5.54 level, the altcoin has experienced a retracement on its chart.

The overhead resistance for DOT is currently positioned at $5.58. If the altcoin manages to surpass this resistance level, it could potentially reach $5.80. Despite the price correction, DOT has thus far maintained a position above the crucial support level of $5.40.

However, if sellers gain momentum, the price may drop below the vital support level of $5.40 and trade around $5.30. The trading volume of DOT in the previous session was bearish, indicating a decline in demand driven by the bears on the daily chart.

Federal Reserve announces July launch of central bank digital currency infrastructure "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Featured ImageFederal Reserve Chair Jerome PowellCNBC Television / YouTube
(LifeSiteNews) The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced a July launch of its FedNow service, which will enable all U.S. banks to offer instant payments 24/7, and will constitute the infrastructure of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) by linking each banking node directly to the Federal Reserve, according to financial experts. FedNow will enable all the banks any bank in the United States, not just the big ones to offer instantly available funds in real-time payments to their customers, explained Fed Chair Jerome Powell before the House Financial Services Committee on March 8. According to a Federal Reserve press release, many early adopters plan on using the FedNow service in July upon its launch, including a diverse mix of financial institutions of all sizes, the largest processors, and the U.S. Treasury. However, FedNow program executive Ken Montgomery noted that growing the network of participating financial institutions will be key to greater availability of the FedNow service. • According to groundbreaking Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory research, fathers may play a more significant genetic role in autism than once thought. Historically, scientists proposed that siblings born with autism share more of their mothers genome than their fathers. However, this new study discovered that in families with multiple children with autism, the siblings shared more of their fathers genome. The studys authors feel that their findings may change treatment strategies and improve the understanding of the etiology of autism.

Research Finds Oxytocin to Induce Labor Is Not Linked to Autism Spectrum Disorder "IndyWatch Feed Health"

New International Study Suggests Previous Research Finding an Association Was Flawed

A joint population-based retrospective cohort study from researchers in Canada and Israel has found that inducing labor through oxytocin administration does not increase the risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in offspring. The current studys design examined nine different exposure groups from the two countries that were not mutually exclusive. In Canada, 170,013 (41.0%) of the cohorts deliveries were not induced or augmented, 107,543 (26.0%) were exposed to oxytocin during induction and/or augmentation, and 136,780 (33.0%) were induced or augmented but not exposed to oxytocin. In Israel, 51,790 (62.5%) of the cohorts deliveries were not induced or augmented, 28,852 (34.8%) were exposed to oxytocin during induction and/or augmentation, and 2,250 (2.7%) were induced or augmented but not exposed to oxytocin. The participants were followed for a mean of 8.43 years in the Canadian cohort and 4.33 years in the Israeli cohort to determine if an autism diagnosis was given. After analyzing the data and adjusting for maternal sociodemographic characteristics, pregnancy conditions and risk factors, labor and delivery characteristics and neonatal characteristics, the authors concluded that no associations were found in their primary analysis between oxytocin induction and the risk of ASD in offspring. This finding contradicts a 2016 study that identified a higher risk of autism in infants born to mothers who received pitocin (synthetic oxytocin) during labor. The authors of this current study suggest that the mother or infants underlying health issues were not considered and likely confounded previous research, linking autism to oxytocin use to induce labor.

Preterm Infants Encounter Toxic Metals During Their Stay in the NICU "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Total Parenteral Nutrition and Red Blood Cell Transfusion Provide Exposure Route

Premature infants frequently stay in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for specialized medical care. Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and red blood cell (RBC) transfusions are two types of clinical management and specialized care that premature infants with low birthweight encounter in the NICU. A recent study has assessed the exposure of premature infants to toxic metals during their stay in the NICU from TPN and RBC transfusions and the potential risk of neurodevelopmental delay at age 2 months. The research included 33 preterm infants that required TPN and RBC transfusions. Blood samples from the infants were collected for metal analysis at two different time points (admission and before discharge). Metals in the daily TPN were analyzed, and neurodevelopment was assessed using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire Edition 3 (ASQ-3). Shockingly, the authors discovered that all samples of TPN had metal contamination: 96% exceeded the critical arsenic limit (0.3 g/kg body weight/day). They also found that the added daily manganese intake from TPN for preterm infants surpassed the recommended dose (1 g/kg body weight), raising safety concerns. Additionally, the authors discovered that all samples of RBC transfusions exceeded the estimated intravenous reference dose for lead (0.19 g/kg body weight). Levels of mercury, lead and manganese in preterm infants at discharge decreased 0.867 g/L (95% CI, 0.76, 0.988), 0.831 (95%CI, 0.779, 0.886) and 0.847 g/L (95% CI, 0.775, 0.926), respectively. The researchers identified a decrease in ASQ-3-problem solving scores associated with higher levels of blood lead in preterm infants taken at admission ( = 0.405, 95%CI = 0.655, 0.014) and with plasma manganese ( = 0.562, 95%CI = 0.995, 0.172). They also observed an association between decreased personal social domain scores with higher blood lead levels of preterm infants before discharge ( = 0.537, 95%CI = 0.90...

Bitcoin Shows Recovery: Did This Historical Line Act As Support Again? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin on-chain data suggests a historical support line may have helped the coin once again as the asset has recovered toward $28,000 today.

Bitcoin Short-Term Holder Cost Basis May Still Be Active As Support

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, the BTC price approached the cost basis of the short-term holders recently. The relevant indicator here is the realized price, which is a metric derived from the realized cap.

The realized cap refers to a capitalization model for Bitcoin that says that the value of each coin in the circulating supply is not the current spot price, but the price at which it was last transacted on the blockchain.

In this way, the model accounts for the price at which each investor acquired their coins. That is, their cost basis. When the realized cap is divided by the number of coins in circulation (to find a sort of average value), the aforementioned realized price emerges.

This realized price signifies the average value at which each holder in the market bought their coins. The metric can also be defined for only partial segments of the market, like the short-term holders (STHs), in which case, the indicator will tell us about the average cost basis among this group only.

The STHs are all those investors who bought their coins less than 155 days ago. The BTC holders outside this group are termed the long-term holders (LTHs).

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin realized price for the STHs over the past couple of years:

    Bitcoin Short-Term Holder Realized Price

In the above graph, Glassnode has marked the various instances where the Bitcoin STH realized price has apparently interacted with the spot price of the asset. Back when the 2021 bull run topped out in November, the cryptocurrencys value dropped below this indicator, signaling a change of trend.

From this point on, as the bear market took over, the STH cost basis started providing...

U.S. Government Says It Owns Everyones THOUGHTS, Calling It Cognitive Infrastructure "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Ethan Huff at Natural News.

The fight is on to hold the United States government responsible for colluding with social media companies to censor Americans free speech rights online.

Missouri v. Biden, which was filed on May 5, 2022, has been taking quite the trip through the court system. It was amended three separate times, most recently to add an amendment that transforms the case into a class action suit due to the sheer number of Americans impacted by the governments crimes.

Uncover DC has been tracking the case, offering play-by-play details about what has been happening with the case over the past year. The plaintiffs, including the states of Missouri and Louisiana, pushed for expedited discovery to obtain a limited set of evidence and depositions from certain individuals.

They argued that this evidence would allow them to make the case for a temporary injunction to stop the government from infringing on the first amendment rights of Plaintiffs and their citizens, Uncover DC reported.

The judge granted the motion for expedited discovery and depositions, prompting a fight between the government and the judge, in this case, Judge Terry Doughty. In short, the defendants want to stop all discovery and certain plaintiffs from being deposed.

(Related: In 2021, a Missouri court declared that the Wuhan coronavirus [Covid-19] mandates and restrictions imposed by the whims of public health bureaucrats are illegal.)

Is Missouri v. Biden the reason why the deep state is trying to ram through the RESTRICT Act?

In its argument against expedited discovery and depositions, the government tried to claim that forcing government workers to sit for lengthy depositions is inappropriate, especially for the head of CISA, who was summoned.

Fortunately for the plaintiffs, Judge Doughty disagreed, forcing the CISA head, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, and other alleged co-conspirators to sit down and tell all about what they did to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights.

Psaki, as you may recall, made threats to social media companies straight from the podium, which prompted her to be deposed. She then left her White House position, conveniently.

Over and over again, the government has lost every single time so far in Missouri v. Biden. And it appears as though Americans may finally be winning, at least in the sense that we can now see what has really been goin...

The U.S. Government Tells Tech Companies to Keep Your AI Claims in Check "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to be a divisive and explosive topic and even the American government is getting involved in the discussion.

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a statement saying that false or unsubstantiated claims about a products efficacy is the FTCs bread and butter.

In other words, keep your AI claims in check because the FTC views AI as an ambiguous term and a marketing term.

The FTC added, Right now its a hot one. And at the FTC, one thing we know about hot marketing terms is that some advertisers wont be able to stop themselves from overusing and abusing them.

The FTC is concerned that companies in Silicon Valley and elsewhere are exaggerating the abilities of AI products and the agency is also saying that comparing an AI product to a non-AI one is a no-no. The agency said, You need adequate proof for that kind of comparative claim, too, and if such proof i...

Memorial Day Reflections: Reinvigorating Critical Thought, Bitcoin Can Honor Service Members "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Mickey Koss, a West Point graduate with a degree in economics. He spent four years in the infantry before transitioning to the Finance Corps.

That was before my time Of course its true, everybody knows its true.

The quote above is from the movie The Sea Beast. And although the film never mentions Bitcoin specifically, it might just be one of the best Bitcoin movies Ive ever seen.

    Source

It is set in a fictional world gripped by perpetual war between a sea-faring economic power and a population of monsters who appear to attack ships out of nowhere. The hunters, the heroes of the story, patrol the seas in a near-constant state of combat, fighting to keep trade routes open and safe. In exchange, they are paid after presenting proof of their monster kills to the monarchy.

It was a fairly overt critique of the military industrial complex, though the deeper theme that I saw was the toxic effects that the media propaganda complex has on a society, reducing peoples ability to exercise discernment, and obscuring objective truth.

    Learn History Or Repeat It

I think the reason why The Sea Beast had such an impact on me is because at its core, it is a story of what can happen to society when truth becomes obscured by revisionist history and propaganda. In the end, it was up to individuals to exercise discernment, and break the societal trance that had been propagating violence for generations. In the end, the rulers only ever had power because the people had allowed them to.

American culture and history is rich with individualism and critical thought, such as the idea that taxation without representation is immoral. This ideal ultimately led to the Revolutionary War which founded this country. But now, people are afraid to have real and engaging conversations, especially in public, because it might be considered wrong think or offensive, ultimately leading to the cancellation of their public lives and digital exile.

Bitcoin reinvigorates many things, but the most important I think is the discernment of truth.

Bitcoin is fundamentally an exercise in regaining your power of discernment. One must sift through a slew of propaganda and fear, uncertainty and doubt...

Dogecoin Bounces Off $0.070 Mark, Awaits Breakthrough of Crucial Hurdle "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In recent trading sessions, the price of Dogecoin has experienced an upward trend, surpassing a significant resistance level. Over the past 24 hours, DOGE recorded a 1.2% increase, and within the last week, the coin appreciated by 2%.

The technical analysis suggests the possibility of upcoming bullish momentum as buying strength attempts to recover. However, demand and accumulation indicators have not yet entered the positive zone.

To establish bullish control in subsequent sessions, DOGE must surpass a crucial resistance level. The broader markets recovery, including Bitcoins rise above $27,500, may also contribute to the DOGE upward price movement.

The upcoming trading sessions will be crucial in determining whether bulls or bears will dictate the price action. However, the decline in the Dogecoin market capitalization indicates current seller dominance over the asset.

    Dogecoin Price Analysis: One-Day Chart

    Dogecoin

At the time of writing, DOGE was trading at $0.073 and has shown gradual gains since surpassing the $0.070 resistance line. However, a potential price correction could occur if it fails to breach its overhead resistance.

The immediate resistance level for DOGE is set at $0.075. Surpassing this level would likely trigger a rally toward the $0.078 mark, strengthening the position of the bulls.

Conversely, if DOGE fails to hold its current price level, it may decline to $0.071 and potentially drop below $0.070. The recent trading session indicated weak buying strength, as the amount of Dogecoin traded was in the red.

Floki Inu: Does Meme Coin Have What It Takes To Re-Enter Top 100 Spot? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Floki Inu (FLOKI) entered the crypto landscape with a wave of enthusiasm, riding on the coattails of the meme coin trend that gained momentum through the success of Dogecoin. Its charismatic Shiba Inu mascot and an active community on social media platforms quickly attracted a dedicated following.

Floki Inus journey, however, has not been without its fair share of ups and downs.

As the crypto market is known for its volatility, the question arises: Can Floki Inu rally strong enough to regain its coveted spot among the top 100 cryptocurrencies?

Floki Inu Market Cap And Growth Analysis

Floki Inu (FLOKI), despite previously achieving a significant rally that propelled it into the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, has recently lost its position among the elite. Currently, FLOKI holds the 121st spot with a market capitalization of $332,037,915.

Within the vast cryptocurrency market, Floki Inu (FLOKI) is currently priced at a modest $0.00003367, as per CoinGecko. Over the past 24 hours, the token experienced a slight 2.8% increase. However, it managed to tally a decent 8.8% over the past seven days. The coin is down 6.7% in the last two weeks.

Despite being introduced in 2021, Floki Inu has not achieved the same extraordinary level of success as renowned meme coins such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB). However, it would be unjust to characterize FLOKIs growth as disappointing. Since its launch, the token has experienced an impressive surge of 656.12%, illustrating its capacity for generating substantial returns.

The Art Collection of David Bowie: An Introduction "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Today, it hardly surprises us when a successful, wealthy, and influential rock star has a large art collection. But David Bowie, ahead of the culture even at the outset of his career, began accruing art well before success, wealth, or influence. He put out his debut album when he was twenty years old, in 1967, and didnt hesitate to create a rock star lifestyle as soon as possible thereafter. As the world now knows, however, rock stardom meant something different to Bowie than it did to the average mansion-hopping, hotel room-trashing Concorde habitu. When he bought art, he did so not primarily as a financial investment, nor as a bid for high-society respectability, but as a way of constructing his personal aesthetic and intellectual reality.

Bowie kept that project going until the end, and it was only in 2016, the year he died, that the public got to see just what his art collection included. The occasion was Bowie/Collector, a three-part auction at Sothebys, who also produced the new video above. It examines Bowies collection through five of its works that were particularly important to the man himself, beginning with Head of Gerda Boehm by Frank Auerbach, about which he often said according to his art buyer and curator Beth Greenacre I want to sound like that painting looks. Then comes Portrait of a Man by Erich Heckel, whose paintings inspired the recordings of Bowies acclaimed Berlin period: Low, Heroes, Lodger, and even Iggy Pops The Idiot, which Bowie produced.

Political Persecution: How the US Govt. Is Silencing the Domestic Terrorists of the Opposition "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Author of What to Eat When Youre Broke and Bloom Where Youre Planted online course

If I wrote that were living in a world that bears an ever-increasing similarity to Communist regimes throughout history, a lot of people would scoff and say that I was being melodramatic. But research compiled by the Media Research Center and shared on social media by The Heritage Foundation shows, through documents acquired via the FOIA, that the Biden administration is using tax dollars to actively target political opponents and dissenters as potential domestic terrorists in a program with the acronym TVTP.

Its an important read, and the supporting documents that follow the money are all here in this PDF. (I originally came across this information on a very interesting episode of Dan Bonginos podcast.)

So, by definition, are you an extremist? A budding domestic terrorist? A violent threat?

    What is the TVTP?

The Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP) is administered by the Department of Homeland Security. It provides funding to funds to public, private, and non-profit institutions like colleges, universities, and county governments to establish or enhance capabilities to prevent targeted violence and terrorism.

On the face, it doesnt sound that bad.

But when you look closer, youll see that this funding is only doled out to groups that align with a specific agenda. And that agenda is to target conservatives, Christians, and Republicans in what MRC calls a coordinated effort to make America into a one-party system.

    Fox News reports:

The Biden administration has awarded 80 grants through the TVTP totaling just under $40 million. The lowest grant was for $85,000, the highest was over $1.1 million, and the median was about $442,000. TVTP grant recipients are prohibited from engaging in viewpoint discrimination, according to DHS.

Started by the Obama administration under a different name, the TVTP was broadened and revamped by the Biden administration with a new focus on violent extremism and white supremacy. DHS named one of its TVTP goals as media literacy and online critical thinking initiatives, which many grantees listed as the mission of their projects.

One such grantee was the University of Dayton for its...

Metalhead Relieved Religious Coworker Just Going to Pray for Him Instead of Reporting His T-Shirt to HR Department "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

ENDICOTT, N.Y. Metalhead and production worker at a local bottling plant Louie Moore breathed a sigh of relief after one of his religious coworkers decided to pray for his soul instead of turning him into human resources for wearing a particularly offensive t-shirt, confirmed multiple sources.

I walked into work not even thinking about whether or not my Exhumed Gore Metal shirt would be appropriate for the workplace. Its just blood and guts, we all have it inside of us so Im not sure why its such a big deal, Moore explained, adding the fact he owns nothing but death metal/grind band shirts. But when I saw the look on Mary Anne (Bendwell)s face, I thought, Fuck, Im toast. Shes about to shit a Bible. I really need this job to support my horror VHS collecting habit, so when she said she was going to pray for my soul I knew I dodged a bullet. Getting told on to a make-believe sky man is much a much better alternative to being out on my ass jobless.

Bendwell, an Evangelical Christian, was still shaken by the run-in with her heathen coworker.

Young Lou is a good person. An ungodly sinner who will spend all eternity in a pit of hellfire, but a good person, said Bendwell. The most I can do for him is to let God know that although he listens to devil music, and wears all black, that he doesnt deserve any vengeful wrath, hes just a confused kid. I have to admit though, the severed head in the microwave on that shirt was impressively realistic, but not as impressive as the power of prayer.

Metal expert Todd Fisher gave some examples of other scenarios where the shirt choices of metalheads got them into hot water.

You wouldnt think in this day and age anyone would get bent out of shape over a dumb t-shirt, but thats sadly not the case, Fisher explained. One Metalhead from Iowa wore his Municipal Waste shirt with Trump blowing his brains out to a MAGA rally, and youd think the whole crowd were snowflakes or something. Another time, a guy wearing an Impetigo shirt was accosted in a courtroom just for having tiny cartoon penises all over his shirt. What a world we live in.

At press time, Bendwell was spotted throwing holy water on Moores shop radio which had been playing Mercyful Fate at the time.

Coffee Company Releases Punk Album "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

CHICAGO Local coffee roasters Undefeated Coffee Collective surprised its followers by deciding to release a punk album 22 years into their existence, confirmed multiple sources still waiting for their French press to finish.

Weve been doing collaborations with punk bands for years but its always a one-way street. We name a special roast after the band, like our Rancid Rancid Brew or our None More Black Coffee and we wanted to mix it up, said Bruce Smalls, co-founder of Undeefeated Coffee Collective. And frankly, if were going to have to compete with Green Days coffee, Id just as soon they compete with us and our energetic blend of punk rock. Since anyone can just do anything they want, you know?

The album, titled Grounds For a Revolution, received largely positive reviews online since its release earlier this month.

Honestly not bad for a bunch of guys that make coffee, said Ed Highsmith, an online music journalist. You could tell me this was a real band and I dont know if Id be able to tell the difference or not. True, theyre singing about coffee on every single song, but you could say the same about the Descendents and not be completely wrong. Musically, however, the bold choruses mix really well with the smooth verses. I even think I detected some notes of metal and ska at times. Grounds For a Revolution is a great album to start your day.

Established up-and-coming punk bands were not as enthusiastic about the release.

You think what we do is easy? Ive spent years perfecting the same three chords and basic progressions, over a loosely similar baseline and drumbeat, said vocalist and lead guitarist of punk band Eddies Gotta Go, Dan Harper. I bet they wouldnt be excited if I took a trip down Colombia to source coffee beans, made sure all the workers were treated fairly in the process, and then packaged and sold it here in the States at an inflated price because it has a vaguely punk aesthetic. They are lucky Im too fucking lazy to even begin to attempt something like that.

As of press time, Undefeated Coffee Collective confirmed upcoming plans to expand into brewing beer and releasing metal albums.

Can I Still Be a Leftist if I Watch Yellowstone? "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

No one criticizes leftists more than other leftists, and ever since I told my DSA working group that I enjoy the smash hit series Yellowstone, it feels like Rose Emoji Twitter is out to crucify me. Its gotten to the point where Ive begun to question my entire identity and core beliefs; so I ask you, dear reader, can I still be a leftist if I watch Yellowstone?

I get that Yellowstone has been branded by some as anti-woke, and that its the favorite show of just about every Republican suburbanite with an F150 that will never see a job site. But liking something that conservatives have overwhelmingly aligned themselves with shouldnt call my politics into question. Right?

I still think all cops are bastards. I still think landlords are leeches. I still think billionaires shouldnt exist; especially the ones trying to build an airport on The Yellowstone Ranch. Yes, I get that it would create jobs and yes I get that no one person should own as much land as John Dutton, but I mean, come on, like anyone is going to side with Market Equities.

All the people in my DSA chapter who I used to call my comrades have dared to even question my allyship with Indigenous communities, and environmental values! While I would love to see large swaths of land returned to indigenous peoples in real life, you gotta admit, the Yellowstone writers kinda make you root for the Duttons. And yes, the cattle industry is disastrous for the environment, but aerial shots of grazing cows are beautiful and roping calves does seem kinda fun.

There are some parts of the show that we should all be able to agree are good, too. They kill a lot of white supremecists, which is undeniably cool. Sure, if the Duttons were real they would probably share some of the same beliefs to a degree, but watching them shoot up a bunch of Nazis while Sleeping On The Blacktop is playing was fucking awesome.

Look, we all like something thats at least a little problematic. Im willing to bet more than a few leftists I know still listen to Brand New. So you know what? Im not taking leftist out of any of my bios. Im the type of guy that will lead a protest outside of a store selling fur, and then enthusiastically watch cattle get branded and sold for slaughter on a fictional television show, and if you dont like that, tough.
