Bitfinex And Crypto Bank OrionX Forged Partnership To Broaden Presence In Latin America "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

A press release shared with Bitcoinist claimed that Bitfinex partnered with crypto bank OrionX. The cooperation will allow the trading venue to strengthen its foothold in the Latin American region by targeting key countries with a high demand for crypto products.

Bitfinex Grows In Latin America, Whats Behind Deal With OrionX?

Based in Chile, OrionX was launched 2017 as a crypto trading platform. In the following years, the company has become a powerhouse in its home country, and its looking to expand into Peru, Colombia, and Mexico as it targets one million users by 2024.

In that sense, the cooperation with Bitfinex will allow the crypto bank to use its partners expertise as a worldwide platform. OrionX might benefit from Bitfinexs capabilities with multiple products, such as trading, staking, and crypto lending.

Thus, the Latin American platform is seeking to increase its chances of succeeding in its expansion. In the meantime, Bitfinex seeks to increase its presence in the region.

Cofounder of OrionX Joel Vainstein stated about the partnership:

Having a strategic collaboration with a company like Bitfinex will play a vital role in advancing our project in LATAM. We firmly believe that their involvement will provide a substantial impetus to our capital raising activities. We are confident that their extensive experience and proven product portfolio will expedite our own product development and user base expansion, positioning us as the benchmark in the region.

Since 2021, the crypto trading venue has doubled its efforts to work with Latin American projects. Per the release, the company partnered with several organizations to promote Bitcoin and decentralized technologies, such as Mi Primer Bitcoin, based in El Salvador.

In addition, the crypto trading venue has been promoting financial and scientific education via its contribution to a Paraguay-based NGO called Penguin Academy. Bitfinex sponsored a three-week boot camp focused on teaching women coding skills.

The cooperation with OrionX is taking these efforts to the next level. The partners recognize the regions need for financial products and services and are preparing to offer an alternative to the legacy financial system.

According to Paolo Ardoino, CTO at Bitfinex:

Were excited to collaborate with Orionx as we look to expand our presence in Chile and across Latin America. This represents a major step forward in our efforts to harness the power of Bitcoin and decentralised technology to promote financial freedom and empower businesses that share our values. We look forward to working even more closely with the team at Orionx to support its growth and development going forward.

Latin America is one of the fasting r......

Woman Wants to Know if Shes Wrong for Not Serving Her Husband Leftovers "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Do you ever see a headline from Reddits Am I the A**hole? page and say to yourself, Hmmmthats weird. I wonder whats really going on here.

This is one of the times!

So now its up to you to get all the details below and see if you think this woman acted like a jerk.

Check out her story, ask yourself the tough questions, and then make your determination!

AITA for not serving my husband leftovers?

I have been off the last 4 days. So I finally had a chance to do some spring cleaning. I deep cleaned the whole house. Yes this did take all 4 days. I did bathrooms, fans, oiled wood tables, opened and cleaned windows everything.

My husband sees I am off and I have had to serve him every meal since I am home. 90 percent of the time I dont mind. Yesterday I was tired and was making steaks for dinner so I didnt feel like making a breakfast omelette too. He got upset and I ended up making both breakfast and dinner. Since I didnt want to fight but he says I made a face.

After dinner last night I packed up leftovers and made it clear that I would not be making ANYTHING tomorrow. Everyone agreed since I work today. When he got off work this morning I served him something quick to eat. I have a hotel booked for this weekend for us. I was trying on clothing and packing whe.

He asked to heat up his left overs. I said I told you yesterday I wasnt making anything today. He responded with your going to make a problem over heating something up on my birthday month I responded with I am tired and explained yesterday you keep making problems with me over food he turned it around and said no your making the problems over food.

You just dont want to serve me anything any more. Cancel the reservation Im not going anywhere. Thanks for ruining my birthd...

Cosmos (ATOM) Bears Dominate As Bulls Struggle To Drive Price "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Cosmos (ATOM) experienced a short bullish momentum on May 10, 2023. The asset saw an increase of 10.89% taking its price to a high of $11.2.

However, the bears regained control of the market on May 13 and sent the coin to its current price of $10.40, representing a decrease of 1.12%. From the beginning of May 2023 till date, ATOM has witnessed a price decline of 11.2%, based on its current price.

Bears In Control of Comos (ATOM) Price

The ATOM/USDT daily chart suggests that the market sentiment for Cosmos (ATOM) is predominantly bearish. It also shows a downward price movement dominating and hindering any potential bullish momentum.

Related Reading: Data Suggests Small Holders Will Drive Next Cardano (ADA) Rally

The price of ATOM was influenced negatively by the recent chaotic legal battle with its former growth and strategy chief, Grace Yu.

The news raised negative sentiments among investors and market participants toward Cosmos (ATOM). The Validators even urged Cosmos founder Kwon Jae to close the case against Grace Yu. And this action indicates a level of concern within the Cosmos community.

Negative sentiment towards an asset can influence investor behavior, decreasing demand for ATOM and potentially contributing to downward pressure on its price.

An example of this is that ATOM has been trending down since April 17, suggesting a bearish sentiment. The trendline now serves as a reference for identifying potential resistance levels since the asset has tested it severally.

Cosmos (ATOM) Bears Dominate As Bulls Struggle To Drive Price

Cosmos (ATOM) trades between $10.160 and $11.301 support and resistance levels. ATOM breaking through the $10.160 primary support level will confirm the bearish momentum. Afterward, the bears might target th...

My Modern Mets Art + Culture Guide to New Orleans "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

My Modern Mets Art + Culture Guide to New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana

Photo: sepavone/Depositphotos

New Orleans is a city rife with art and history. Its vibrant and diverse culture is rooted in its rich history which is a blend of influences from French, Spanish, African, Caribbean, and Creole traditions. This is reflected in every part of the city, from the music to the food to the architecture and cultural events.

While New Orleans is perhaps best known for Mardi Gras, you dont have to travel to The Big Easy for Fat Tuesday in order to authentically experience the city. Its history is shared through cultural institutions including the National World War II Museum and the Whitney Plantation Museum. Although the past isn't always rosy, understanding it is vital. The Whitney Plantation Museum, for instance, educates the public about the history and legacies of slavery in the U.S.

History is just one part of NOLAs cultural scene. It also includes art, and sometimes the two go hand-in-hand. From the historical artifacts at the New Orleans Museum of Art to contemporary murals at Studio BE, there is something for everyone.

My Modern Met had the chance to visit some of New Orleans' greatest cultural institutions. Scroll down for our travel guide to art and culture in NOLA.

 'Life Drawing' , Day 2 of 365

Pablo Picasso had once said that "In drawing, nothing is better than the first attempt."

I am not entirely sure about that sentiment, at least not in the life drawing class that I attended this evening.  I hadn't been to life drawing class in about fifteen years and when I contemplated that thought I wondered to myself why that was so.  I had always enjoyed life drawing for it had taught me to look closely at the subject; every line, wrinkle, muscle ripple, shadow, shape of the human body and once that had been mastered I had the confidence to draw anything on the planet.

Nature repeats itself time and time again, shapes inherent in the human body will be seen elsewhere.

But back to Picasso, hmm, I'm not sure that the first attempt in the life drawing class is anything to brag about.  In Life drawing classes the poses are initially for a short time, and then they get longer to allow the warm up of the brain and the hand.  So in essence the first attempt in life drawing is just a warm up.

I had planned to use ink for the longer poses which were 20 minutes each and by then, I had been accustomed to the model's body-It's shape, posture and command of the space.  Every model commands the space differently, and will use their space according to their individuality, some will have props and others will lounge about or contort to exhibit the potential of the human form.

<p>Data shows the sharks and whales of the largest stablecoins have been accumulating, something that may turn out to be bullish for Bitcoin.</p> <h2>Sharks & Whales Have Been Loading Up On Stablecoins Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, the sharks and whales have recently improved their share of the total supply of stablecoins like USD Coin (USDC), Dai (DAI), and Binance USD (BUSD).

The relevant indicator here is the <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/news/ethereum/ethereum-breaks-1900-sharks-continue-accumulation/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Supply Distribution</a>, which tells us what percentage of a cryptocurrencys total circulating supply is being held by which wallet group in the market.</p> <p>Addresses are divided into these wallet groups based on the total number of tokens that they are holding at the moment. In the context of the current discussion, the 100,000 to 10 million coins cohort is of interest.</p> <p>This group naturally includes the wallets of all the investors who are carrying a balance of at least 100,000 and at most 10 million tokens. As the assets in question here are USD-pegged stablecoins (meaning that their value is fixed at $1), the bounds of this range convert to $100,000 and $10 million, respectively.</p> <p>As these amounts are massive, only the largest of the investors in the market would be sitting on these addresses. The <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/news/bitcoin/bitcoin-sharks-whales-821-5m-dip-santiment/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">sharks and whales</a> are two such cohorts that are large enough to cover these wallets.</p> <p>These groups can be quite influential in the market, as they have the power to move a notable amount of coins at once. Obviously, the whales would be the more important group of the two, as they are the larger cohort.</p> <p>Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Supply Distribution of these sharks and whales for three of the most popular stablecoins in the sector:</p> <p><img alt="Stablecoins Sharks & Whales" class= "alignnone aligncenter" height="1748" src= "https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fw1UA9TakAEV_pc?format=jpg&name=4096x4096" width="2852"></p> <p>As displayed in the above graph, the supplies of these three stablecoins hit a low back in March, but have since then observed an increase. This means that sharks and whales of the respective tokens have been accumulating during this period.</p> <p>Generally, investors use stables whenever they want to avoid the <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/news/bitcoin/bitcoin-volatility-shrinks-levels-violent-move-incoming/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">volatility</a> associated with other assets like...

A Humbling Short Film Visualizes the Breathtaking Magnitude of 13.8 Billion Years of Cosmic Existence "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The human conception of time is limited. We often think in hours, days, and years, units of measurement that are comprehensible when considering our lifetimes or those of generations past. Even decades and centuries, though, are only a minuscule fraction in the timeline of the universe and are wholly inadequate when assessing a nearly 14-billion-year history.

A new short by Alex Gorosh (previously) and Wylie Overstreet (previously) helps to visualize the immensity of cosmic creation beyond the clock and calendar. Four years in the making, To Scale: TIME takes the filmmakers to a 4.3-mile stretch across the arid Mojave Desert, where they install small lights to create a timeline of human civilization and the broader universe. Augmented with visuals of galaxies and historical events, the resulting work captures the magnitude of 13.8 billion years and is an awe-inspiring reminder of how small humans are in both time and space.

Watch the humbling film on YouTube, where Gorosh and Overstreet also share a making-of video that documents their process. To Scale: TIME is the second project in the duos series of model-based works and follows their striking visualization of the solar system.

The Final Battle "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The time has come for the final battle between good and evil. Those who are truly united with the heart of God will be victorious. Be alert! The battle is upon you, and it will require all your strength. Previously, many of you were not prepared to stand up for your most precious giftyour individualitynor to give up your most cherished illusionseparateness. This illusion of separation is at the core of all fear. When you are at peace, loving yourself and each other, there is no room for fear. But when you believe that you are separate from others, then fear becomes a dominant force in your life. The great shift that is now taking place on Earth is part of a profound, sweeping change that is happening throughout the universe as darkness fades into light. This transformation is inevitable because love cannot coexist with darkness any more than light can coexist with darkness. Love cannot coexist with lies any more than the truth can exist alongside lies. For millennia, this shift has been foretold by every major religion on our planet, although its actual meaning was distorted or hidden by those who were not ready to accept it. Now the shift has begun in earnest, and it will continue until all have joined together in celebration of their divine nature. The final battle will take place on the planet Earth shortly. Light Warriors of the first, second, third, and fourth groups will be asked to come to the aid of Planet Earth, as it is their last chance to help free this planet from the rule of the Dark Forces. This battle has been prepared for eons of time by our Creator but was only possible because the Light Warriors have done their part in cleansing Planet Earth from the darkness. These are very exciting times for us all. We are about to witness something that has not happened for a long time. The event will be preceded by a chain of events that will gradually lead to it....

Why Bitcoin is stuck below $28,000 resistance "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On this weeks episode of The Market Report, Cointelegraphs resident expert discusses why Bitcoins price is stuck near $27,000 and the next price level for the king of cryptocurrencies.

When Bitcoin Meets Artificial Intelligence: Woke Madness Or Awakened Sanity? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Aleksander Svetski, author of The UnCommunist Manifesto, The Bitcoin Times and the Remnant Series, and head of growth and strategy at Lucent Labs.

I know, I know. Your Twitter feed has probably been drowning in threads and tips from AI bros who have discovered 99 ways for you to save 99 hours every week using ChatGPT or some other list of 99 AI apps.

Im sick of it too. Trust me, especially considering that most of these AI experts were Web3 experts last year, NFT experts the year before and DeFi or crypto experts before that. Trend hopping at its finest.

Thats not to say theres no value here to be found here. Somewhere beneath or behind the almost-deafening noise coming from these influencooors there is a possible paradigm shift, and a genuine set of use cases. Weve seen some already, of course.

You can chat with these models to reason out a problem, you can summarize thoughts and ideas, find correlations between ideas, search for some information better than you could with Google and, of course, build more linguistically-functional chatbots. Perhaps the best use case thus far are the dev-assistant tools, but I get the sense that weve not yet seen the Uber moment.

There is also somewhere beneath and behind all of the scary talk of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and the idiocy being proposed by bureaucrats and would-be regulators a more human-centric, human-enhancing use for these tools.

The idea of a language user interface as the next step from the thumb tapping weve become used to over the past decade is fascinating, and what we should be thinking about is how to make these tools new bicycles for the mind, as Steve Jobs said about computers. Its very important that we push back against doomer narratives that lean the world toward approved AI in order to avoid such tools becoming yet another appendage of the State.

In this short article, Id like to explore the ideological AI battlefield and its relationship to Bitcoin. Some pretty important battle lines have been drawn, and we must all be aware of them.

Bitcoin Remains The Most Important Thing In The World

Energy is still the currency of the universe. Thats not changing, and will never change. At the risk of sounding like too much of a hippie: Its all energy.

People often forget that, and this recent AI hype cycle is a clear example. Most people you talk with, even otherwise smart people, think that AI is the...

Elon Musk Reveals Reason Behind Dogecoin Investment, But Why Is DOGE Down? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Billionaire Elon Musk has been a long-time supporter of Dogecoin and he has not been shy when it comes to talking about his love for the meme coin. Usually, when Musk talks about DOGE, the price tends to go up as investors rush to capitalize on the publicity. However, it is not the case this time around because despite Musk mentioning the meme coin, its price has gone in the opposite direction.

Elon Musk Says Dont Bet On Crypto Or Dogecoin

Tesla CEO Elon Musk spoke at the Wall Street Journals CEO Council Summit held in London and among other topics, he touched on the crypto industry and Dogecoin in particular. Musk once again professed his support for Dogecoin, saying he likes the meme coin because of its humor and the fact that it incorporated dogs.

However, he further went on to state that he would not advise anyone to bet their life savings on either crypto or Dogecoin. Im not advising anyone to buy crypto or bet the farm on, you know, Dogecoin or anything like that, the billionaire said when asked if he was still a fan of crypto.

Musk has a long history of supporting the meme coin and it was this support that sent the cryptocurrency rallying to new all-time highs back in 2021. At different points since then, Musks posts have also moved the price positively. But his stance this time around has deviated from what is normally expected and the price of DOGE has suffered for it.

DOGE Price Retraces Despite Musk Mention

In one of the rare cases, the price of Dogecoin has actually retraced after Musk mentioned the meme coin during his interview. The price is down over 3% in the last 24 hours alone and is now trading dangerously close to the $0.07 support level.

Dogecoin (DOGE) price chart from TradingView.com

As a result of this, DOGE has fallen below its 200-day moving average, a move that puts it on a bearish path over the short to mid-term. Also, with Bitcoin seeing losses, it has taken the market down with it, so there is not much room for recovery for DOGE at this time.

However, many in the community continue to hold out hope that Elon Musk will eventually announce a DOGE integration on Twitter as a payment method. Such a move would no doubt lead to an at least 50% upside for the meme coin, and it could be a catalyst for its next rally.

At the time of writing, DOGE is changing hands at a price of $0.07113.

Helen Keller Writes a Letter to Nazi Students Before They Burn Her Book: History Has Taught You Nothing If You Think You Can Kill Ideas (1933) "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Helen Keller achieved notoriety not only as an individual success story, but also as a prolific essayist, activist, and fierce advocate for poor and marginalized people. She was a lifelong radical, writes Peter Dreier at Yes! magazine, whose investigation into the causes of blindness eventually led her to embrace socialism, feminism, and pacifism. Keller supported the NAACP and ACLU, and protested strongly against patronizing calls for her to confine my activities to social service and the blind. Her critics, she wrote, mischaracterized her ideas as a Utopian dream, and one who seriously contemplates its realization indeed must be deaf, dumb, and blind.

Twenty years later she found a different set of readers treating her ideas with contempt. This time, however, the critics were in Nazi Germany, and instead of simply disagreeing with her, they added her collection of essays, How I Became a Socialist, to a list of degenerate books to be burned on May 10, 1933. Such was the date chosen by Hitler for a nationwide Action Against the Un-German Spirit, writes Rafael Medoff, to take place at German Universitiesa series of public burnings of the banned books that differed from the Nazis perspective on political, social, or cultural matters, as well as all books by Jewish authors.

People Talk About What Their Parents Taught Them They That They Later Realize Was Messed Up "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Growing up is strange

Most kids think their parents have all the answers and whatever they say is TRUTH.

And then you get a little bit older and you thinkhmmmmaybe that isnt right

Its a weird phenomenon, but we all go through it at some point.

Lets hear from folks who talked about things their parents taught them that they later realized were weird.

A home remedy.

My mom taught me that when you have bug bites, you should scratch them until they bleed, and then rub salt on them to make them stop itching.

It wasnt until I was 23 and passed that home remedy on to a friend and they immediately told me how masochistic it was that I realized something was weird about it.

Wow.

Upon hearing stories of my childhood my husband had to break it to me that it was not in fact normal for moms to share their anti-psychotic meds (or chill pills, as she would call them) with their young children.

Non-stop work.

My dad always told me work will set you free. Do you chores, work will set you free, do your homework because work will set you free.

This went on for about a decade until I came back from history at school and asked him why it was on the entrance to Auschwitz.

Just ignore it.

Only TV families resolve their problems and apologize after a big fight.

Real families just act like it never happened.

Ghost them!

Anytime I felt hurt by a conflict with a friend, my parents would tell me to never talk to them again because they arent real friends anyway.

John Singer Sargents Scandalous Paintings: An Introduction to Madame X and Dr. Pozzi at Home "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Henry James, perhaps the most famous American expatriate novelist of the nineteenth century, won a great deal of his fame with The Portrait of a Lady. John Singer Sargent, perhaps the most famous American expatriate painter of the nineteenth century, won a great deal of his fame with a portrait of a lady but not before it seemed to kill his illustrious career at a stroke. When it was first shown to the public at the Paris Salon of 1884, Sargents Portrait of Madame X drew a range of reactions from bitter dismissal to near-violent anger. But today, as Great Art Explained host James Payne says in the new video above, it is genuinely hard to see what the fuss was about.

Twenty years before, in 1865, Manet had shown Olympia at the Salon, to a scandalized Paris. So why the shock now? The difference was that Manets Olympia was a prostitute, like the women in Toulouse-Lautrecs painting also on display in 1884. But Madame X was part of French high society. She was, all those first viewers would have known, the socialite, bankers wife, and professional beauty Virginie Amlie Avegno Gautreau. Her rumored penchant for infidelities wouldnt have been unusual for her particular place and time, but her background as the New Orleans-born daughter of a European Creole family certainly would have.

Considering Rocky/Creed, Our Most Successful Sports Film Franchise Pretty Much Pop: A Culture Podcast #149 "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Your Pretty Much Pop hosts Mark Linsenmayer, Lawrence Ware, Sarahlyn Bruck, and Al Baker talk through the ups and downs of this nine-film franchise that started with Rocky, the highest grossing film of 1976 and winner of that years Academy Award for Best Picture. Were especially concerned with this years Creed III, directed by its star Michael B. Jordan, which is the first entry in the franchise thats entirely free of Sylvester Stallone.

How can such an apparently simple formula (start as an underdog, train, and win at least a moral victory) stay fresh? Why was there a robot in Rocky IV? Is there any rationale for an extended, continuing Rocky-verse? Does enjoying these films involve approving of boxing as a sport, or the glorification of fictional sports heroes over real-life ones?

BNB Price Prediction: Bears Target Fresh Lows Below $300 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BNB price (Binance coin) is struggling to clear the $315 resistance against the US Dollar. It is declining and remains at risk of a move below $300.

  • Binance coin price is moving lower from the $315 resistance against the US Dollar.
  • The price is now trading below $312 and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours).
  • There is a key bearish trend line forming with resistance near $314 on the 4-hour chart of the BNB/USD pair (data source from Binance).
  • The pair could accelerate lower if it breaks the $305 support zone.

Binance Coin Price Dips Again

This past week, BNB price attempted an upside break above the $312 resistance. However, the bulls struggled to gain strength above $315, similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

A high is formed near $315.5 and the price is now moving lower. There was a move below the 50% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $304 swing low to the $315 high. BNB price is now trading below $312 and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours).

An Urgent Vision of Architecture at the Venice Biennale "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

VENICE The 18th International Architecture Exhibition that opened to the public in Venice last week and runs through November 26 differs from previous iterations of the biennial in significant ways, but perhaps most notably in its emphasis on reusing and recycling materials. Participants this year were asked to leave as light a carbon footprint as possible, encouraged to use screens, projections, and digital resources in place of models and artifacts.

These features are in line with one of two guiding principles in Ghanaian-Scottish curator Lesley Lokkos vision: decarbonization. The other, decolonization, is reflected in the shows geographic focus. For the first time, more than half the participants of the Biennale are either African or from the African diaspora.

For all the Biennales stress on decolonization and the empowerment of African architects and artists, the denial of visas to three Ghanaian members of Lokkos team, allegedly over fears that they might overstay their visit, tarnished the host countrys hospitality credentials. During the inaugural press conference, Lokko read a statement by the Italian embassy in Ghana claiming that it was at the forefront of policies to promote African cultural heritage. The visa rejections, Lokko added, were not the forefront of policy but the ugly rear.

Whats That Grotesque Sculpture on Jeff Bezoss Megayacht? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Jeff Bezos has once again proven that money simply cannot buy taste through his addition of a new figurative sculpture attached to Koru, his $500M superyacht spotted off the Spanish coast this month. I must admit that the boat itself is quite sexy considering the price tag, but the fantasy figure installed on its prow, which could be a grotesque commemoration of his girlfriend-turned-fiance, journalist and helicopter pilot Lauren Snchez, leaves a lot to be desired.

The figures face undoubtedly resembles that of Snchez, but thats where the artistry ends and the horror show begins. Appearing to be carved from wood and polished to a sheen, the figures body has both arms, feathered wings, and clothed quads that transition bizarrely into betta fish fins? Your guess is as good as mine, honestly, and Im taking suggestions. At least the sculptor was conscious enough of female anatomy to include slightly protruding nipples poking through the tight dress thats pretty much vacuum-sealed over the figures torso. Im sure those are powerful headlights for this 417-foot-long luxury boat.

While its unconfirmed that the sculpture is modeled after Snchez, its appearance coincides with the news of her engagement to Bezos that became public this week.

Fantom (FTM) Secret Weapon: Could This Project Be The Next Big Thing In Crypto? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Fantom (FTM) is a blockchain project that has gained attention in the crypto space for its unique features and potential. Despite a recent dip in key metrics such as Total Value Locked (TVL), the project has something special that many believe is worth attention.

Is Fantom Poised To Disrupt The Crypto World?

One of the most important metrics for any blockchain project is TVL, which represents the amount of money invested or held in the network. According to the data researcher for Dune Analytics under the pseudonym OxFinish, for Fantom, TVL saw a massive uptrend in the autumn of 2021 during the second Bitcoin run to an all-time high (ATH) but has since fallen to its lowest point in almost two years, currently sitting at approximately $292 million.

Fantom

Interestingly, the TVL correlates perfectly with Stablecoin Market Capitalization, the easiest thing to bridge between blockchains, as seen in the chart above.

Moreover, according to Ox, FTMs price is highly correlated with active users, as evidenced by the recent mini Altcoin Season surges in network activity when the price increases. Social dominance and USD transaction volume have also fallen, indicating a complex interdependence of key metrics within the ecosystem.

The Rising Star Of Fantoms DeFi Ecosystem

Despite the above, Fantom has a vibrant ecosystem of projects building on it, with one decentralized exchange (DEX) standing out as the backbone of the network: SpookySwap. SpookySwap currently has over 22% of TVL dominance, with only GMX on Arb having a slightly higher percentage at approximately 24%. At one point, the TVL of SpookySwap was higher than the TVL of Avalanche.

As an automated market maker (AMM), SpookySwap enables users to trade any ERC20 token on the Fantom network without needing an order book. Instead, the platform uses complex algorithms to determine the price of tokens based on supply and demand. This approach makes it easy for users to trade tokens...

Computer Art With a Human Touch "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

LOS ANGELES New technologies enable artists to depict hitherto-inaccessible forms; old ones afford the control necessary to realize an artistic vision. An exhibition of early computer art, Coded: Art Enters the Computer Age, 19521982, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) shows that artists working with early-stage technologies make their best work by combining new techniques with older ones (painting, drawing, filmmaking).

Days after seeing Coded, a few works continue to fill my mind when I close my eyes: drawings by Desmond Paul Henry and Harold Cohen and a film by John Whitney, Sr. These works exemplify the synthesis of old and new methods.

Henry created the delicate curves of his drawings using an analogue computer that had calculated bomb trajectories during World War II. Working by hand, he filled the in-between spaces with marker. The computer-generated curves are novel, but it is Henrys hand-drawn biomorphic additions in black and orange marker that make the memory of the images linger.

Whitney, an animator, worked with an IBM programmer to generate sequences of abstract patterns. After recording the patterns on 16mm film, he was able to manipulate them using his familiar darkroom and editing bench. A tabla soundtrack gives the film a shimmering, hypnotic rhythm. (The tabla, an Indian percussion instrument made of skin and wood and played with bare hands, is another example of a centuries-old technology.)

Cohen, a painter, wrote a computer program to draw closed shapes. After transferring these shapes to paper using a plotter, he filled them in with colored penci...

Irreplaceable Metal Works Stolen in UK Museum Heist "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The UKs Sheffield Museums is appealing to the public for help in recovering a dozen objects that were stolen from the Kelham Island Museum in the early morning of Sunday, May 14. In what museum officials have described as a carefully planned theft, thieves took 12 irreplaceable objects housed behind display cases, including knives, sculptures, and silver kitchenware that relate to the citys history of metalworking, a longtime staple industry in Sheffield.

The stolen objects date back to the 1700s and include items on loan from the Sheffield Assay Office as well as those featured in exhibitions created by the Ken Hawley Collection Trust. Were deeply saddened by the break-in at Kelham Island Museum over the weekend, Chief Executive of the Sheffield Museums Trust Kim Streets said in a public statement.

The historical significance of these items goes far beyond any financial value they hold, Streets continued. They span one of the first objects hallmarked by Sheffield Assay Office to knives made by one of our last Little Mesters, the much-missed Stan Shaw, and are irreplaceable touchstones of Sheffields rich heritage.

Avalanche Breaks $14 Price Level, Yet Remains Hinged On Crucial Resistance "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

During the recent weekend, Avalanche (AVAX) witnessed a significant surge in selling pressure, resulting in a bearish breakout. As a consequence, the price of AVAX dipped close to a multi-month low of $13.8.

However, on the 24-hour chart, the altcoin displayed a slight upward movement, showing some appreciation. On the other hand, the weekly chart depicted lacklustre performance for AVAX.

The technical outlook for Avalanche remains bearish, as both demand and accumulation levels have remained low. The price action of AVAX has been influenced by the undecided nature of Bitcoin (BTC), which recently re-entered the $27,000 range.

This has caused other altcoins, including AVAX, to exhibit uncertainty on their respective charts. The overhead resistance level for AVAX holds significant importance, as surpassing this level could trigger a rally for the altcoin.

Conversely, if sellers exert further pressure, AVAX may break its consolidation and fall below its immediate support level, thereby strengthening the bearish sentiment.

Broader market strength is necessary for AVAX to reclaim its overhead ceiling. The decline in the market capitalization of AVAX indicates a decrease in buying strength at the current time.

Avalanche Price Analysis: One-Day Chart

Avalanche

At the time of writing, AVAX was priced at $14.70. It is currently trading in close proximity to its immediate resistance level of $15. A breakthrough above $15 has the potential to propel the altcoin towards $15.80 and ultimately $16.

The involvement of buyers in the market is crucial to generate demand and facilitate AVAXs upward price movement. On the downside, if AVAX fails to sustain its current price level, it may find support at $14 before potentially trading below that level. The recent trading session showed a decline in the amount of AVAX traded, indicating the dominance of sellers in the market.

Upstream Data Files Lawsuit Against Crusoe Energy Systems For Bitcoin Mining Operations "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Canadian Bitcoin mining corporation Upstream Data Inc. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Delaware limited liability company Crusoe Energy Systems LLC in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

The lawsuit alleges that Crusoe has infringed on Upstream's patent related to bitcoin mining technology used to convert stranded natural gas into bitcoin. According to the complaint, Upstream holds the patent for a system that powers a blockchain mine at remote oil well sites using stranded gas to generate electricity for cryptocurrency mining. According to the filing, the company has deployed over 350 bitcoin mining systems across the U.S. and Canada, addressing the issue of stranded gas venting and flaring.

Crusoe, which manufactures and operates cryptocurrency mining systems connected to stranded natural gas sources, is accused of competing with Upstream by selling and operating similar systems. The complaint claims that Crusoe's "Digital Flare Mitigation" systems infringe on Upstream's patented technology. The lawsuit further alleges that Crusoe was aware of Upstream's patented technology during the development of its own products. The lawsuit filing highlights instances where Crusoe identified Upstream as a competitor in blog posts and claims made in patent applications.

The lawsuit seeks damages and injunctive relief against Crusoe for patent infringement. Upstream argues that Crusoe's actions have caused harm to its business by infringing on its patent rights and creating unfair competition in the market.

The case will be heard in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, where Crusoe has regular and established places of business according to the filing. Upstream asserts in the lawsuit that the court has jurisdiction over the case.

Is Cardano Poised for A Price Surge? A Look At Its Tight Consolidation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Cardano price has consistently remained below the $0.38 zone for the past two weeks, indicating a strong presence of sellers in the market. Despite attempts by buyers to regain strength over the past month, their efforts have been feeble, unable to overcome the bearish sentiment.

This persistent bearish price action has resulted in a notable breach of the crucial demand and support zone between $0.37 and $0.38.Over the last 24 hours, ADA has made a slight upward movement on its chart, but the progress has been limited.

Similarly, on the weekly chart, ADA has not shown significant advancement. The technical outlook for ADA reflects bearish pressure and a lack of buying strength.

Demand and accumulation remain low as a consequence. Many altcoins have indicated minor price increases, with Bitcoin returning to the $27,000 price. ADA must maintain trading above its immediate support line to break out of its current narrow trading range.

If ADA surpasses its overhead resistance, the altcoin could potentially experience a substantial rally in the following trading sessions. The decrease in ADAs market capitalization suggests an increase in sellers outweighing buyers in the market.

Cardano Price Analysis: One-Day Chart

Cardano

At the time of writing, the price of ADA was $0.37. The altcoin is currently experiencing tight price movement within a highly constricted range. Additionally, ADA is approaching a critical support level at $0.36.

On the upside, there is an overhead resistance at $0.38.  A successful breakthrough above this level could drive ADAs price toward $0.40.

However, if the price fails to sustain its current level, it could drop below $0.36. This would lead to a trading range near $0.34. The recent session showed a decrease in the amount of ADA traded, indicating a slow buying strength.

The Playoffs: A Dispatch "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Rachel B. Glaser, Ref Huddle, 2023.

These years, the only basketball I watch is the playoffs, but I take them very seriously, because theyre so fleeting, dramatic, and sublime. I love the ever-changing narratives. The pregame handshakes. The postgame interviews. The controversial tweets. The stupid commercials one cant help but memorize. I love when a player gets hot and their teammates keep funneling them the ball. The rarely seen, silent green siren that flashes when a coach uses their challenge to dispute a call. The sudden announcement of a technical foul and the way the mood shifts during the single, solitary free throw.

I love catching glimpses of the players tattoos of babies, ancestors, dates, signatures, playing cards, angels, lions, phantoms, and crosses emitting sunbeams.

I like when the refs touch each other in any way, but especially when all three of them put their arms around one another, huddling to discuss a difficult call. I like watching endless replays of fouls, trying to decide whether something was a block or a charge, or who touched the ball last. I like when the commentators disagree with the refs and when the broadcast cuts to the former ref Steve Javie in some NBA warehouse in New Jersey, standing in front of TV screens, calmly hypothesizing what the refs are discussing.

I love the emotions, which in other sports are often hidden under the players helmets and hats. Jamal Murrays arms outstretched in joy as he backpedals after nailing yet another three. Jimmy Butlers and Grant Williamss noses touching while they scream at each other like two feuding angelfish. Robert Williamss head in his hands on the bench.

I love when the play-by play commentators mention Kevin Love. Love has grabbed the ball. Loves effect cannot be overstated. Im entertained by the exaggeratedly dull way the stadium announcers say the names of the opposing teams players. Though my friends complain about the commentators, Im soothed by the familiar voices of Doris Burke, Reggie Miller, Jeff Van Gundy, Mike Breen, Kevin Harlan, and Mark...

AIs Version of the Perfect Person Is an Eye-Opening Look at Unrealistic Beauty Standards

Unrealistic Beauty Standard by AI

The beauty standard presented in media is always a source of attention, as it has a large effect on how we view ourselves. With the rise of AI, The Bulimia Project wanted to see what type of ideal body popular image generators would produce. The results are eye-opening.  Dall-E 2, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney all produced men and women whose bodies were highly unrealistic. As these systems were trained on material provided by developers, the results are really a look at our unrealistic beauty standards.

According to the eating disorder awareness group, 40% of the AI-generated images they produced depicted an unrealistic body type. When prompted to create the perfect female body according to social media in 2023, all three image generators created women with small bodies. With their tiny waists, chiseled abs, and large breasts, the ideal woman created by Midjourney was signaled by the group as the furthest from reality.

The ideal man was similarly distorted, with the pictures looking like photoshopped versions of bodybuilders. The nipped-in-waists, washboard abs, and chiseled jawlines are a look that would be difficult to find in real life.

Distorted Female Bodies Created by AI

The Bulimia Project found that there was a tendency for the image generators to create blonde women, while the men most often had brown hair. In fact, 67% of the AI-generated males had dark hair. There was also a preference for olive skin. It was found in 53% of the female images and 63% of the male images. Nearly half the men had facial hair, which led the organization to the conclusion that the ideal male has darker features, according to the inte...

Romes Trevi Fountain Dyed Black in Latest Climate Action "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

European climate activists have struck again. Eight members of the Italy-based advocacy group Ultima Generazione dyed Romes 18th-century Trevi Fountain black on Sunday, May 21 in protest of the countrys fossil fuel subsidies. The group linked these payouts to the devastating floods that have swept the countrys Emilia Romagna region over the last week, killing at least 13 people, displacing some 23,000, and destroying thousands of farms.

The only way to prevent this from happening is to stop emissions related to fossil fuels, a 19-year-old member of Ultima Generazione named Mattia said in a statement shared with Hyperallergic. We have decided to rebel against those who are condemning us to death.

The action began at 11:30am on Sunday and police were almost immediately on the scene: By 11:45, authorities had evacuated all of the activists. Videos circulated online show policemen wading into the black water to physically remove the protesters from the fountain. Ultima Generazione said its members had poured vegetable charcoal into the fountain and did not damage the iconic site.

Hundreds Help Restore Defaced Tschabalala Self Sculpture in the UK "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Last Monday, May 15, in a South English coastal town, vandals defaced Tschabalala Selfs Seated (2022), a 10-foot public installation depicting a Black woman facing the sea. In what has been characterized as an act of racism, perpetrators covered the New York artists bronze sculpture with spray paint, violently coating the Black womans skin with white.

Painting the skin of my sculpture white is an obscene act and I feel horribly for individuals in Bexhill-on-Sea for whom this event may have shocked or frightened, Self said in a statement.

The sculpture is currently located on the lawn outside the De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP), an arts center in Bexhill-on-Sea. The artwork is part of a temporary public art installation by the arts center with support from the Pilar Corrias Gallery in London.

With Selfs support, the arts center organized a community event on Sunday, May 21 to restore the sculpture. What followed was an act of restoration and resistance as over two hundred local members armed with paint solvent and scrubbing materials came together over the weekend to begin cleaning the sculpture, according to a press release from the pavilion.

Selfs artwork often includes depictions of the bodies of Black women and femme individuals, rendered in various mediums. In Seated, Self explores what she describes as a universal act of leisure and calm. Commissioned by the digital art collection platform Avant Arte, the sculpture first appeared in a mall near Kings Cross in London la...

Nathalie Miebach, Build Me a Platform

How does it feel to inhabit an irreversibly damaged planet? An exhibition opening at the Design Museum of Chicago this summer brings together works by ten artists and collectives that answer this question through data, color, tactility, and material.

Curated by Colossal, At the Precipice: Responses to the Climate Crisis considers physical and emotional reactions in the era of environmental disaster and emphasizes how art can offer an accessible entry point into such an overwhelming and dire emergency. Varying in medium and methodology, the works included explore several of the most urgent issues affecting the world today.

The Tempestry Project returns to the early Common Era to visualize how rapidly our climate has changed in the last few centuries alone, while Luftwerk and Zaria Forman consider the impacts of a warming world on glaciers and arctic regions. Morel Doucet, Nathalie Miebach, and Migwa Nthiga are concerned with the increasing intensity of weather events and subsequent forced migration, and Jean Shin and Chris Pappan look to shifts in rivers and access to water sources....

Umpire Rescues 7-Year-Old Baseball Player From Being Engulfed by a Dust Devil in Florida

Quick thinking can save a life, especially when it comes to helping those most vulnerable around us. This summarizes the move made by a brave umpire at a youth baseball game in Jacksonville, Florida. When Aidan Wiles noticed a 7-year-old catcher being swarmed by a dust devil and unable to escape from it on his own, he quickly sprang into action. The video of the frightening moment has since gone viral.

This rescue took place during a Mother's Day game, where Fort Caroline Athletic Association Indians played the Ponte Vedra Sharks. In a matter of seconds, a dust devil formed after a batter had stepped aside. Sharks catcher Bauer Zoya became engulfed in it, and was really struggling to get out due to the dirt and debris flying around him. I was scared and I got afraid if someone would pull me out, Bauer told News4Jax. I couldnt breathe that much, so I held my breath and I feel like I couldnt touch the ground. So I kind of lifted up a little bit.

Noticing he was in trouble, the 17-year-old umpire quickly lifted him and brought him to safety. I just saw him freaked out, just like trying to fight his way out of it, and I knew his little body couldnt get out of it himself, so I just rushed in and got him, Wiles told Action News Jax.

The rocks scratched up the umpire's chest and stomach, but he knew the kids' wellbeing came first. I...

Why We Love this Outdoor Chaise Lounge

I had originally built this project for a rental property, but it turned out so well, we just had to keep it for ourselves.  It's such a versatile piece.  Here's why we love it:

  • NO moving parts, so it's less things to break and maintain.  Instead of a reclining back, the base is long enough to be a bed on it's own.  Simply arrange pillows for the perfect back support.
  • Versatile - can work as an outdoor sofa or sectional too!
  • Easy to build
  • Simple style works with most other pieces
  • Can be stained or painted a variety of colors

What Did You Use for a Cushion?

For the cushion I used a foam cot mattress measuring 30" x 75" - I bought mine at Fred Meyer (a Kroger Chain store similar to Walmart).  The foam should drain water through.  There are lots of options on Amazon to buy a "cot sized mattress".

I then added a layer of outdoor batting to the top, and sewed a cushion cover.  Here is a good tutorial for sewing a box cushion cover (I am not an expert a sewing, so will defer you to someone who is).

Other Options for Cushions

This plan is easily adaptable to work with different sized cushions.  Here's a few options to consider:

  • Twin Mattress - foam, waterproof or use a waterproof cover.  Can use a twin daybed cover or twin fitted sheet - spray with waterproofing fabric spray to protect it (Scotchguard).
  • Three Deep Seat Cushions - Deep seat cushions are a great choice and will already come covered.  Some may even come with pillows.  Measure the size of the cushions and adjust the cuts accordingly.

EPA accused of failing to regulate use of toxic herbicides despite court order "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The US Environmental Protection Agency has in effect ignored a 2020 federal court order prohibiting the use of Monsanto and other producers' toxic dicamba-based herbicides that are destroying millions of acres of cropland, harming endangered species and increasing cancer risks for farmers, new fillings in the lawsuit charge. Instead of permanently yanking the products from the market after the 2020 order, the EPA only required industry to add further application instructions to the herbicides' labels before reapproving the products. A late 2021 EPA investigation found the same problems persist even with new directions added to the label, but the agency still allows Monsanto, BASF and other producers to continue using dicamba. The EPA's pesticide office is included in allegations that career managers are influenced by or have colluded with industry, and in some cases falsified science to make dangerous substances appear less toxic. About one-third of the pesticide office's funding comes from industry fees. The agency in 2016 approved the dicamba-based herbicide developed by Monsanto, which was to be used on genetically modified soybean and cotton crops. The herbicide can damage or kill neighboring crops and plants that are not engineered to be dicamba-resistant. The results are "devastating" and destroying millions of acres as "as never before seen in the history of US agriculture", the plaintiffs said. In some cases, direct dicamba exposure can kill insects, mammals and other animals.

Less Than a Third of Heavily Advertised Drugs have 'High Therapeutic Value': Study as reported by US News and World Report "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Television ads for drugs are filled with glowing images of people living their best lives, all thanks to that new med they've been prescribed. But drugs being touted on TV often have little to no benefit compared to other treatments, a new study published online Jan. 13 in JAMA Network Open finds. Fewer than one-third of drugs commonly advertised in the United States are highly rated first-line therapies, based on regulatory reviews from three different health agencies, the researchers said. Further, medications categorized as "low benefit" accounted for nearly $16 billion of the $22 billion in TV ad spending during the six-year study period, the results showed. "Proponents of direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical advertising often argue that these ads have high public health value by encouraging uptake of the most therapeutically beneficial therapies. Our study pushes back against this argument," said lead researcher Neeraj Patel. "The U.S. is one of only two high-income countries in the world that widely permits direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs," Patel said. "And there's been a ton of empirical research over the past two decades that has suggested that this type of advertising can be misleading, lead to inappropriate prescribing, and inflate health care costs." In the meantime, people should have frank discussions with their doctor about any drug that's caught their eye on TV, focusing on the real risks and benefits, Patel said.

The pharmaceutical industry finances about 75 percent of the [FDA]'s drug division "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Every five years, top officials of the Food and Drug Administration go behind closed doors to negotiate the terms of its core budget about $3 billion this year. But the F.D.A. is not at the table with members of Congress or with White House officials. Instead, it's in dozens of meetings with representatives of the giant pharmaceutical companies whose products the agency regulates. The negotiations are a piece of the "user fee" program in which drug, device and biotech companies make payments to the agency partly to seek product approvals. The fees ... make up nearly half of the F.D.A.'s budget, financing 6,500 jobs at the agency. The pharmaceutical industry funding alone has become so dominant that last year it accounted for three-quarters or $1.1 billion of the agency's drug division budget. Advocates for patients and doctors say the agreements have enabled the industry to weaken the approval process meant to ensure that drugs are safe and effective. "It's kind of like a devil's bargain," said Dr. Joseph Ross, a professor at the Yale School of Medicine who has studied F.D.A. policies, "that I think is not in the best interest of the agency, because it turns this every-five-year cycle into the F.D.A. essentially asking industry, 'What can we do to secure this money?'" Senator Bernie Sanders ... suggested that the pharmaceutical companies' tendency to charge "outrageous" prices was related to their significant role in funding and advancing policy goals of the F.D.A.'s drug division.

Does Direct-to-Consumer Advertising Directly Harm Patients? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Researchers from Johns Hopkins University recently published an article in JAMA that highlights rising concern around the effects of direct-to-consumer advertising (DTC) on health care. Their work shows that DTC advertising might have direct harm on patients. They studied drug characteristics and total advertising expenditures for the 150 top-selling branded prescription drugs in the United States, finding that total promotional spending by the manufacturer was associated with a significantly lower added clinical benefit for the drug. In fact, companies spent nearly 15% more on DTC advertising for drugs that had demonstrated lower added benefit. Even more troubling, each 1.5% increase in spending was associated with a 10% increase in sales. Simply put, pharmaceutical companies spent more money on DTC advertising when medical research found that the drug was less effective, and this spending directly led to more sales for those inferior drugs. The U.S. is one of only two countries in the world that still allows direct-to-consumer advertising. Aside from increased pressure on providers to prescribe particular drugs which may not be the best option, there are other downsides to DTC. The data show that DTC advertising leads to increased drug costs overall, adding to the already skyrocketing costs of medical care in America. Additionally, DTC advertising tends to reduce use of generic medications, which are often equally effective but significantly cheaper for patients.

Fighting giants: eco-activist Vandana Shiva on her battle against GM multinationals "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

For almost five decades, [Dr. Vandana] Shiva has been deeply engaged in the fight for environmental justice in India. Regarded as one of the world's most formidable environmentalists, she has worked to save forests, shut down polluting mines, exposed the dangers of pesticides, spurred on the global campaign for organic farming, championed ecofeminism and gone up against powerful giant chemical corporations. Her battle to protect the world's seeds in their natural form rather than genetically altered and commercially controlled versions continues to be her life's work. "I couldn't understand why were we told that new technology brings progress, but everywhere I looked, local people were getting poorer and landscapes were being devastated as soon as this development or new technology came in," she says. "No one was stopping to ask: what will be the impact on the environment? What will this cost the farmers? They only wanted to win the race and control all the world's seeds." Currently more than 60% of the world's' commercial seeds are sold by just four companies, which have led the push to patent seeds, orchestrated a global monopoly of certain [genetically modified] crops such as cotton and soya and sued hundreds of small-scale farmers for saving seeds from commercial crops. Shiva considers her most important work to be her travels through India's villages, collecting and saving seeds ... setting up more than 100 seed banks, and helping farmers return to organic methods.

Note: The Seeds of Vandana Shiva is an excellent documentary that reveals the remarkable life story of Dr. Shiva, her significant influence in creating an international food justice movement, and how she stood up to the big players of industrial agriculture. My cat screamed at me like this one time- I was so taken aback because Id never heard a cat sustain a note for that long.

I started screaming too & she just kept going right back at me!! My boyfriend ran into the room and said what is going on out here?! & neither of us had an answer for him.

Invoking Design Principles, Kpe Innocent Builds Minimal Human Figures with Geometric Shapes "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A minimal figure with black cylindrical limbs and a perfectly round head and torso sits

All images Kpe Innocent, shared with permission

In his most recent paintings in acrylic, Kpe Innocent reduces the human body to its rudimentary forms. The Accra, Ghana-based artist translates arms, bellies, and heads into cylinders and geometric shapes rendered in minimal palettes of black, white, and pastel colors. Occupying vast swaths of negative space, the figures have room to pause and breathe, and the paired-down settings draw greater attention to the engineered anatomy.

In a note to Colossal, Innocent shares that hes been interested in stories of creation and how those connect to his faith and practice. I am convinced by looking at how systems operate and the evidence of design in the natural world that an intelligent mind is behind the natural things we see (where there is design, there is a designer), he says, and this fact can be seen in how we humans interpret and mimic nature in design processes even. DNA codes and the building blocks of digital interfaces continue to inform his paintings, and after working in earth tones and more dense environments, hes now gravitating toward clean lines and minimal brushstrokes that limit the markings of the artists hand.

Innocent currently has a limited-edition print available through Moosey Art, where he will soon release a new sculpture, as well. His works will be on view at Volta Art Fair with African Arty and...

Berkeley Hosts Segregated Grad Ceremony "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

UC Berkeley is embroiled in a major controversy as it hosts an exclusive black-only graduation ceremony, which flies in the face of the principles of racial equality and integration fought for during the Civil Rights movement. The African American Studies Department at UC Berkeley recently held their annual Black Graduation ceremony, which is open to all majors and degree programs across the campus. However, the exclusive nature of this ceremony raises concerns about conflicts with the progress made toward equality.

Avalanche (AVAX) Trading Volume Skyrockets Amid Sustained Price Growth "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Avalanche (AVAX) is gaining today as it seeks to retain its gains in the last 24 hours. Its trading volume is up by over 18% today, possibly sustaining its price recovery attempt.

Notably, AVAX entered the month of May with a bullish momentum trading at $16.66 on May 1, 2023. However, the bears have kept AVAXs price at $14 since May 18.

It now approaches the $15 price level seeking to rediscover its positive price form. The increased trading volume today implies that more activities are ongoing on the network.

This surging interest in the network might help AVAX sustain its uptrend.  A return to $21 remains likely for the asset in the long term.

AVAX Price Moves

AVAX is gaining today, forming a higher high on the daily chart. The bulls are intent on mounting a recovery rally. However, the bears are still active in the market.

Related Reading: How Does Current Bitcoin Rally Compare With Historical Ones?

Since AVAX still trades below its 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), the asset will likely see a further price decline in the short and long term. The SMAs display sell signals prompting traders to take short positions in the market today.

However, some indicators are pointing to a price recovery for AVAX soon. For instance, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is 38.53 and close to the oversold region.

The RSI indicator mirrors the bearish trend that began on May 18, 2023, but the indicator is moving upwards, hinting at a potential trend reversal for the asset.

Although the AVAXs Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is just breaking above its signal line and showing convergence, its histogram bars display small green bars hinting at a potential trend reversal to the upside.

A close look at the chart structure shows that AVAX entered a downtrend on April 19, 2023. But it found support on May 22, sparking hope for a price recovery.

Whats Ahead For Avalanche?

AVAX has found valuable support at the $14.29 price level, a pivot point for the asset. It is currently trading above its closest resistance level of $14.29. However, the bears are still active in the market, intent on keeping it below the next resistance level of $15.21.
