Health care providers were 'bribed' into suggesting COVID vaccines, congressman says leaked document shows "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., shared a document on social media Thursday, outlining Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's "Vaccine Provider Incentive program" for Kentucky-based providers. The document showed doctors could make thousands of dollars in bonus compensation for inoculating their patients during the pandemic. Two separate categories were outlined in the document. The first included bonus parameters for providers based on their practice's total vaccination numbers by Sept. 1, 2021. Providers in the state of Kentucky could have made anywhere from $20 to $125 per vaccinated patient. For example, to receive the $125 bonus per vaccinated patient, the provider must have vaccinated at least 75% of their practice's total Anthem members by Sept. 1, 2021. The second category bumped up the bonuses but was specifically for inoculations between Sept. 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2021. The parameters for that shorter time frame gave Anthem providers as much as $250 per newly vaccinated individual if the provider has inoculated at least 75% of its Anthem members. As with the previous category ... the bonus amount per newly inoculated patient varies. For context, a health provider with roughly 265 patients could have received as much as a $25,000 bonus for vaccinating 200 of their patients before Sept. 1, 2021. "Your primary care provider was bribed to suggest you should take the COVID vaccine," Massie tweeted alongside an image of a FAQ sheet laying out the parameters for the program.

Loneliness poses risks as deadly as smoking: surgeon general "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Widespread loneliness in the U.S. poses health risks as deadly as smoking up to 15 cigarettes daily, costing the health industry billions of dollars annually, the U.S. surgeon general said. About half of U.S. adults say they've experienced loneliness, Dr. Vivek Murthy said in an 81-page report. "Loneliness is ... a feeling the body sends us when something we need for survival is missing," Murthy [said]. "Millions of people in America are struggling. That's why I issued this advisory." Research shows that Americans, who have become less engaged with worship houses, community organizations and even their own family members in recent decades, have steadily reported an increase in feelings of loneliness. People culled their friend groups during the coronavirus pandemic. Americans spent about 20 minutes a day in person with friends in 2020, down from 60 minutes daily nearly two decades earlier. The loneliness epidemic is hitting young people, ages 15 to 24, especially hard. The age group reported a 70% drop in time spent with friends during the same period. Loneliness increases the risk of premature death by nearly 30%, with the report revealing that those with poor social relationships also had a greater risk of stroke and heart disease. Isolation also elevates a person's likelihood for experiencing depression, anxiety and dementia. People who used social media for two hours or more daily were more than twice as likely to report feeling socially isolated than those who were on such apps for less than 30 minutes a day.

Note: Listen to an inspiring interview with U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, where he envisions a new 'social' infrastructure for humanity that consists of programs, policies, and structures that foster healthy relationships and bring healing to the mental health crisis. EPA accused of failing to regulate use of toxic herbicides despite court order "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The US Environmental Protection Agency has in effect ignored a 2020 federal court order prohibiting the use of Monsanto and other producers' toxic dicamba-based herbicides that are destroying millions of acres of cropland, harming endangered species and increasing cancer risks for farmers, new fillings in the lawsuit charge. Instead of permanently yanking the products from the market after the 2020 order, the EPA only required industry to add further application instructions to the herbicides' labels before reapproving the products. A late 2021 EPA investigation found the same problems persist even with new directions added to the label, but the agency still allows Monsanto, BASF and other producers to continue using dicamba. The EPA's pesticide office is included in allegations that career managers are influenced by or have colluded with industry, and in some cases falsified science to make dangerous substances appear less toxic. About one-third of the pesticide office's funding comes from industry fees. The agency in 2016 approved the dicamba-based herbicide developed by Monsanto, which was to be used on genetically modified soybean and cotton crops. The herbicide can damage or kill neighboring crops and plants that are not engineered to be dicamba-resistant. The results are "devastating" and destroying millions of acres as "as never before seen in the history of US agriculture", the plaintiffs said. In some cases, direct dicamba exposure can kill insects, mammals and other animals.

Less Than a Third of Heavily Advertised Drugs have 'High Therapeutic Value': Study as reported by US News and World Report "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Television ads for drugs are filled with glowing images of people living their best lives, all thanks to that new med they've been prescribed. But drugs being touted on TV often have little to no benefit compared to other treatments, a new study published online Jan. 13 in JAMA Network Open finds. Fewer than one-third of drugs commonly advertised in the United States are highly rated first-line therapies, based on regulatory reviews from three different health agencies, the researchers said. Further, medications categorized as "low benefit" accounted for nearly $16 billion of the $22 billion in TV ad spending during the six-year study period, the results showed. "Proponents of direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical advertising often argue that these ads have high public health value by encouraging uptake of the most therapeutically beneficial therapies. Our study pushes back against this argument," said lead researcher Neeraj Patel. "The U.S. is one of only two high-income countries in the world that widely permits direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs," Patel said. "And there's been a ton of empirical research over the past two decades that has suggested that this type of advertising can be misleading, lead to inappropriate prescribing, and inflate health care costs." In the meantime, people should have frank discussions with their doctor about any drug that's caught their eye on TV, focusing on the real risks and benefits, Patel said.

The pharmaceutical industry finances about 75 percent of the agency's drug division "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Every five years, top officials of the Food and Drug Administration go behind closed doors to negotiate the terms of its core budget about $3 billion this year. But the F.D.A. is not at the table with members of Congress or with White House officials. Instead, it's in dozens of meetings with representatives of the giant pharmaceutical companies whose products the agency regulates. The negotiations are a piece of the "user fee" program in which drug, device and biotech companies make payments to the agency partly to seek product approvals. The fees ... make up nearly half of the F.D.A.'s budget, financing 6,500 jobs at the agency. The pharmaceutical industry funding alone has become so dominant that last year it accounted for three-quarters or $1.1 billion of the agency's drug division budget. Advocates for patients and doctors say the agreements have enabled the industry to weaken the approval process meant to ensure that drugs are safe and effective. "It's kind of like a devil's bargain," said Dr. Joseph Ross, a professor at the Yale School of Medicine who has studied F.D.A. policies, "that I think is not in the best interest of the agency, because it turns this every-five-year cycle into the F.D.A. essentially asking industry, 'What can we do to secure this money?'" Senator Bernie Sanders ... suggested that the pharmaceutical companies' tendency to charge "outrageous" prices was related to their significant role in funding and advancing policy goals of the F.D.A.'s drug division.

Does Direct-to-Consumer Advertising Directly Harm Patients? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Researchers from Johns Hopkins University recently published an article in JAMA that highlights rising concern around the effects of direct-to-consumer advertising (DTC) on health care. Their work shows that DTC advertising might have direct harm on patients. They studied drug characteristics and total advertising expenditures for the 150 top-selling branded prescription drugs in the United States, finding that total promotional spending by the manufacturer was associated with a significantly lower added clinical benefit for the drug. In fact, companies spent nearly 15% more on DTC advertising for drugs that had demonstrated lower added benefit. Even more troubling, each 1.5% increase in spending was associated with a 10% increase in sales. Simply put, pharmaceutical companies spent more money on DTC advertising when medical research found that the drug was less effective, and this spending directly led to more sales for those inferior drugs. The U.S. is one of only two countries in the world that still allows direct-to-consumer advertising. Aside from increased pressure on providers to prescribe particular drugs which may not be the best option, there are other downsides to DTC. The data show that DTC advertising leads to increased drug costs overall, adding to the already skyrocketing costs of medical care in America. Additionally, DTC advertising tends to reduce use of generic medications, which are often equally effective but significantly cheaper for patients.

Fighting giants: eco-activist Vandana Shiva on her battle against GM multinationals "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

For almost five decades, [Dr. Vandana] Shiva has been deeply engaged in the fight for environmental justice in India. Regarded as one of the world's most formidable environmentalists, she has worked to save forests, shut down polluting mines, exposed the dangers of pesticides, spurred on the global campaign for organic farming, championed ecofeminism and gone up against powerful giant chemical corporations. Her battle to protect the world's seeds in their natural form rather than genetically altered and commercially controlled versions continues to be her life's work. "I couldn't understand why were we told that new technology brings progress, but everywhere I looked, local people were getting poorer and landscapes were being devastated as soon as this development or new technology came in," she says. "No one was stopping to ask: what will be the impact on the environment? What will this cost the farmers? They only wanted to win the race and control all the world's seeds." Currently more than 60% of the world's' commercial seeds are sold by just four companies, which have led the push to patent seeds, orchestrated a global monopoly of certain [genetically modified] crops such as cotton and soya and sued hundreds of small-scale farmers for saving seeds from commercial crops. Shiva considers her most important work to be her travels through India's villages, collecting and saving seeds ... setting up more than 100 seed banks, and helping farmers return to organic methods.

Note: The Seeds of Vandana Shiva is an excellent documentary that reveals the remarkable life story of Dr. Shiva, her significant influence in creating an international food justice movement, and how she stood up to the big players of industrial agriculture. The FCC Is Supposed to Protect the Environment. It Doesn't. "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Few people think of the FCC as an environmental cop. It's known for regulating television and radio and overseeing the deployment of communications technology. But the agency also has a broad mandate to ensure that technology doesn't damage the environment. This role is particularly critical now, as the FCC presides over a nationwide buildout for 5G service, which will require 800,000 new "small cell" transmitters, those perched on street poles and rooftops, often near schools, apartments and homes. But even with this massive effort underway, as ProPublica previously reported, the FCC has refused to revise its radiation-exposure limits, which date back to the era of flip phones. In addition, the agency has cut back on the environmental reviews that it requires while also restricting local governments' control over wireless sites. The agency operates on the honor system, delegating much of its responsibility to the industries that it regulates. It allows companies to decide for themselves whether their projects require environmental study. And if the companies break the rules, they're expected to report their own transgression. Few do. In the rare instances in which the FCC investigates, even brazen illegality is often met with a minor fine, a scolding "admonishment" or no action at all. Just 10% of FCC enforcement cases between 2014 and 2016 resulted in a monetary penalty, while 40% ended with a warning and the rest resulted in no action.

How a Human Rights Lawyer Went From Hero to House Arrest "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

More than a quarter-century ago, Steven Donziger, a young American human rights lawyer, joined the legal effort to force Texaco to clean up the Ecuadoran headwaters of the Amazon rain forest. Between 1972 and 1992, the company dumped toxic waste and spilled billions of gallons of oil-exposed water across 1,700 square miles, an area larger than Rhode Island. In response, a coalition of rural Ecuadorans in the Lago Agrio region sued the US oil giant, and Donziger signed on to help and soon became the lead attorney on the case. In 2013, after a legal campaign that stretched across two continents, the 30,000 indigenous people and small farmers whom Donziger represented in a class-action lawsuit won a $9.5 billion judgment in Ecuadoran courts against Chevron, which acquired Texaco in 2001. It was one of the largest financial judgments ever against an oil company. Fast-forward to today, and Donziger is under house arrest in New York City, forced to wear an ankle monitor. The lawyer, now 59, is fighting contempt charges. Meanwhile, his clients in Ecuador have received nothing from Chevron. Without that funding, they have no way to cleanse the poisoned soil or treat what they say is an elevated number of cancer cases. In 2010 ... Chevron launched a countersuit in a New York federal court, alleging that Donziger and his allies had committed bribery and fraud in Ecuador to win the case. Meanwhile, residents in the Amazon rain forest live and work on poisoned land.

The secret to why exercise is so good for mental health? 'Hope molecules' "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

One of the most interesting health research projects of the past decade or so has looked at how exactly exercise makes us feel good. Research shows that there appears to be a clear scientific reason, that we can see at a cellular level. When muscles contract, they secrete chemicals into the bloodstream. Among these chemicals are myokines, which have been referred to as "hope molecules". These small proteins travel to the brain, cross the blood-brain barrier, and act as an antidepressant. They do this by improving our mood, our ability to learn, our capacity for locomotor activity, and protect the brain from the negative effects of ageing. This has been referred to as "muscle-brain cross-talk". They're also responsible for improved metabolism, reduced inflammation, and increased muscle strength. Myokines are not solely responsible for feeling good: exercise also releases neurotransmitters such as dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin that have a positive impact on our brains. So when you're feeling low, it's tempting to do a Netflix binge, or spend hours scrolling on social media comparing others' lives to yours, and feeling increasingly sad. This is especially true for teenagers. The antidote we know clearly from epidemiology and biology is to just get moving: whether it's joining a team, going for a long walk, or finding a community gym or yoga class. You'll certainly feel more hopeful afterwards.

Inside Too Good To Go's Mission To Make Unused Food Accessible To All "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Food costs, especially in times of inflation, can be exorbitant. Likewise, getting to a brick-and-mortar grocery store may well be logistically impossible due to health and/or mobility concerns. It's also true having limited access to food may be detrimental not merely because a person lacks basic sustenance, but also because certain medications work only when taken with food. Without it, those drugs may cease to work as effectively, if at all. Founded in 2016 in Copenhagen by five entrepreneurs, the team at Too Good To Go is trying to curb food insecurity around the globe by fighting food waste. On its website, Too Good To Go (TGTG) reports 2.8 billion tons of food is wasted every year. The app, available on iOS and Android, features a number of partner businessesbakeries, supermarkets, and restaurantsnearest a user's location that are giving away so-called "Surprise Bags" of unsold food. Rather than perfectly good food wasting away in a waste basket somewhere, TGTG users can stop by said businesses and pick up the food for themselves. The app's UI is similar to those of on-demand food delivery services like ... DoorDash, UberEats, and Postmates. Users are able to see which places are available, what they may get, and then sign up to pick up the items at a designated time. To date, TGTG boasts 4.2 million users and 9,790 businesses on its platform. Earlier this month, the company ... announced they are carbon neutral and have saved 100 million bags in the last seven years.

The Surprising Role of Blind Women in India's Health Care System "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

On a sunny March morning in Bengaluru, Ayesha Banu and Noorunnisa walk up to the stage of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology. Their white canes folded and held aside, they speak to a packed hall of students and teachers about their work as Medical Tactile Examiners (MTEs). "We assist doctors in detecting the early signs of breast cancer in women," Banu speaks into the mic. "Using the first two fingers of both hands, we examine women's breasts for abnormalities." She explains that blind women like herself and Noorunnisa are especially well-suited to this profession because of the "high tactile sense in our fingertips, which helps us find tiny lumps in the breast." Tactile breast examinations, or TBEs, are clinical breast examinations specially designed for blind women trained as MTEs. Employing MTEs for routine breast cancer screening and reaching women in their communities and workplaces could help in the early detection of cancer and save lives, says Dr. Poovamma CU, the breast specialist under whom Banu and Noorunnisa work. Studies prove that in the absence of sight, blind people's brains can develop a heightened sense of touch, as well as hearing. Through the MTE training, a woman with vision impairment is able to empower another woman, by offering her preventive health care. In a recent Indian study where two MTEs conducted TBEs on 1,338 women, their success rate of detecting malignant cancers was over 78 percent, and the miss rate, only one percent.

Role Reversal: Ethereum Defies Expectations With Lower Volatility Than Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest digital asset in the cryptocurrency sector, is currently captivating traders attention as volatility gauges indicate an intriguing shift in market dynamics.

Contrary to the customary pattern, these indicators are suggesting that Ether may experience relatively smaller near-term price fluctuations compared to Bitcoin, according to Bloomberg.

This unexpected reversal has injected a fresh element of anticipation and curiosity among investors, who are now closely monitoring the evolving landscape of cryptocurrencies.

Narrowing Gap Between Ethereum And Bitcoin Volatility

The T3 Ether Volatility Index, an innovative tool, lies at the core of this phenomenon. It has emerged as an indispensable barometer for assessing and foreseeing price volatility in the Ether market.

The data compiled by Bloomberg reveals that the difference in volatility between Ether and Bitcoin, as measured by the 180-day realized or historical volatility, is currently at its smallest since 2020. Furthermore, this difference is only marginally positive, indicating a remarkably close alignment between the volatility of Ether and Bitcoin.

Caroline Mauron, co-founder of crypto derivatives platform OrBit Markets, told the publication:

Chainlink (LINK) Price Defies Bearish Pressure With Strong Recovery "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The bearish pressure in Chainlink (LINK) since April 19, 2023, seems to have ended recently. Notably, the asset dropped from $8.57 to a low of $6.37, representing a dip of 25.67% between April and May 11.

However, a strong recovery in the LINK market started on May 12 till date. On May 21, 2023, the coin rose to a local high of $6.782, changing the trend to favor the bulls.

As the bulls take back control of the market, the price of LINK has increased significantly, giving the investors/traders hope and creating positive sentiment.

Bulls Build Strong Momentum

Chainlink (LINK) is a leading cryptocurrency that connects smart contracts with real-world data. LINK has demonstrated exceptional performance in the crypto industry, boosting its market capitalization significantly.

The price of Chainlink is $6.48 today, May 22, 2023, with an estimated market cap of $3.35 Billion. LINKs 24-hour trading volume is up within the last 24 hours by 80.93%, indicating high trading activity in the market.

Currently, Chainlinks Fear & Greed Index is 76% at Extreme Greed, suggesting that the market sentiment is leaning toward more buying sentiment. This means that investors and traders may be more optimistic about the markets future and are more inclined to take risks.

One of the key factors contributing to the bullish sentiment around LINK is the general market sentiment toward cryptocurrency. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates the market still favors the bears.

Also, LINK is currently trading below both its 200-Day and 50-Day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), which shows a bearish trend in the market. This also indicates that both long and short-term trends are bearish.

The Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) confirms a strong bullish momentum as its trades above the signal line. Moreover, the histogram validates the bullish sentiment with a positive trading value and bars above zero.

Meme Coin Season May Be Over As PEPE, SHIB, DOGE, Continue Decline "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Momentum in the crypto market has ground to a near-halt over the last couple of days and meme coins are suffering the most for it. As market participants remain wary of their investment options, the likes of PEPE, SHIB, and DOGE have continued to decline, signaling an end to the short meme coin bull run experienced in April.

Meme Coin Momentum Slows Significantly

Meme coins have been one of the hardest hit presently as both large and small meme coins have been on a decline. For example, PEPE, a meme coin that rose into prominence in April, has lost over 60% of its early May all-time high value and is still recording losses of 7.5% in the last 24 hours.

Likewise, Dogecoin (DOGE), the largest meme coin in the space has not had it easy as well. The digital asset is still holding on to its support above the $0.07 but bears continue to threaten its ability to recover. Just like PEPE, DOGE is seeing a decline in the last day, albeit to a lesser degree, with 1.8% losses during this time period.

Next on this list is SHIB which is currently the only one of the top meme coins that are recording some semblance of gains. But even its gains so far have been meager and losses are the order of the day on the larger 7-day scale. SHIB is still below its critical $0.000009 resistance but has risen 1.7% in the last day.

Others such as Baby Doge Coin and Floki are seeing losses in the 24-hour and 7-day charts as well. As a result, the total meme coin market cap is down 2.6% in the last day and is now sitting at a $17.13 billion capitalization, data from Coingecko shows.

The Shiba Inu community remains passionate about controlling its price action by eliminating excess tokens in circulation through burn events as the community has continued to burn SHIB tokens.

Recent data from Shibburn.com reveals that 3.05 billion SHIB got burnt in eight separate burn transactions in the past seven days. The latest statistics represent a 75% increase in the total burn rates compared to the 1.75 billion SHIB burned the previous week.

Shiba Inu Token Burn Continues

Blaze token has become the top-ranked SHIB burner in the ecosystem since its launch. The project destroyed over 3 billion SHIB in a single transaction executed on May 16, 2023.

Also, a mysterious wallet burnt 18.23 million SHIB tokens on 16th May, making it a record-breaking date in the ecosystem.

The Shiba Inu community has burnt over 410.6 billion SHIB, with over 574.30 trillion still in circulation. A Twitter user, SHIB INFORMER, notably posted a snapshot of a proposed token burn mechanism on Shibarium.

According to SHIB INFORMER, the Shibarium burns will focus on transactions and regulating the excess supply of tokens in the community through a burning mechanism to boost the value of SHIB tokens.

The Shibarium upgrade is a layer-2 (L2) solution built on the Ethereum network for Shiba Inu. It seeks to transform Shiba Inu from a meme coin to a functional ecosystem. Although there is no definite date for its launch, the SHIB community expects it in 2023.

Bitcoin Volatility Shrinks To Historical Levels, Violent Move Incoming? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data shows that Bitcoin volatility is currently at historically low levels, something that has led to violent price moves in the past.

Bitcoin 7-Day Range Has Compressed To Just 3.4% Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnsode, the current 7-day price range is comparable to levels seen back in January of this year. The 7-day price range of Bitcoin here refers to the percentage difference between the highest and the lowest points that the assets value has observed during the last seven days.

This metric can provide hints about the recent volatility that the cryptocurrency has experienced. When the indicator has a low value, it means the price action during the last week has been quite stale. Naturally, this suggests that the volatility of the asset is low right now.

On the other hand, high values of the 7-day price range imply the coin has seen a high degree of fluctuation within the past seven days, and hence, the volatility has been high.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin 7-day price range (as well as the 7-day high and low) over the last few years:

Bitcoin 7-day Volatility

As shown in the above graph, the Bitcoin 7-day price range had naturally succumbed to quite low values during the bear market lows that had followed the FTX crash, as the BTC price had been stuck in a sideways movement.

These low values of the indicator continued into the new year as the coin refused to show any significant movement. Soon after, however, the metrics value had seen an explosion as the rally had begun to take place.

In the next few months, the 7-day price range of the cryptocurrency had assumed relatively high values, but recently, the indicator has observed another plummet.

The reason behind this new plunge has naturally been the narrow consolidation range that the asset has followed in the past week between the $27,400 and $26,500 levels.

Because of this low volatility, the 7-day price range of Bitcoin has collapsed to only 3.4%. In the chart, Glassnode has also highlighted the previous instances where the cryptocurrency had seen this metric drop so low.

It looks like the indicator dipped to similar levels way back in...

Ordinals Have Proven Demand On Bitcoin, But Fees Will Push Users To Layer 2 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Steven Hay, a writer, former trader and art dealer.

The Ordinals controversy is still simmering and seems set to flare up again soon. Although Ordinals block space usage had been trending down since March 23, 2023, the release of notable collections and a burgeoning mania for BRC-20 tokens seems to have reversed that trend.

Should competition for block space between Ordinals, BRC-20 tokens and purely monetary transactions remain high, so will fees. And, should fees climb sufficiently high, the ghastly shades of the blocksize war may rise once more to torment all Bit-kind.

The Case Against Ordinals

Fees aren't the only flashpoint. While Bitcoin has certainly had its share of negative headlines over the years, the protocol itself has thus far escaped the same level of recrimination. Exchange failures, drug sales, countless scams these are all things people did with the tech, rather than any intrinsic fault of the tech itself. Not so with, say, Ethereum, where sketchy smart contracts are virtually part of the machine.

With Ordinals popularizing the integration of Bitcoin's blockchain with all manner of infamous Ethereum innovations (such as NFTs, tokens and, perhaps soon, smart contracts), reputational risk to the Bitcoin protocol grows. How long until a token is issued directly on Bitcoin which passes the Howey Test and so falls afoul of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission?

Further in this regard, Ordinals also greatly lower the barrier to introducing illicit or classified content into Bitcoin's blockchain.

Source (modified by author).

As for the loss of user funds due to rug pulls, bugs, hacks and takedowns, all of these boxes have already been ticked under Ordinals. Most recently, Ordinals Finance pulled a $1 million rug, albeit on the Ethereum side of the ledger. Just pri...

Shiba Inu Struggles To Initiate A Breakout: Will It Defy Resistance And Rebound? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) found itself in a tight spot as it continued to struggle beneath a significant resistance level. Despite the hopeful anticipation of a bullish reversal, the lack of trading volume acted as a hindrance, dampening the prospects for an upward breakthrough.

As SHIB enthusiasts anxiously awaited a potential turnaround, the resistance level posed a formidable challenge, emphasizing the need for increased market participation to fuel a successful climb.

Amidst the hurdles of resistance and wavering market conditions, the question arises: Will Shiba Inu defy the odds and make a decent recovery?

Shiba Inu Struggles To Break Resistance As Bearish Sentiment Prevails

Since May 6, SHIB has been locked below the crucial resistance level of $0.00000980, creating a stagnant trading environment. Surprisingly, sellers have been unable to drive prices any lower, while the bulls have failed to mount a significant rally.

When compared to the gains made by market leaders in cryptocurrency like Ethereum and Bitcoin during the same time period, Shiba Inu is down by more than 40% from its February high.

As of the latest update, the SHIB token is currently valued at a mere $0.00000855 via CoinGecko, highlighting its status as a micro-investment opportunity. Unfortunately, over the past 24 hours, SHIB has experienced a moderate decline of 2.8%, raising concerns about its short-term prospects. This downtrend has persisted for a week, resulting in a 2.2% overall decline.

Nevertheless, there are signs that the bearish dominance may be losing its grip as the price approaches a crucial support level at $0.00000807. This presents a potential opportunity for the bulls to stage a comeback and regain control over the market sentiment.

Investors and traders eagerly watch this key support level to gauge the next potential move for the Shiba Inu token.

Lack Of Volume: A Major Hurdle For SHIBs Bullish Reversal

The potential for a bullish reversal in the Shiba Inu token hinges on one crucial factor: increased trading volume. Without a significant surge in trading activity, SHIB struggles to gain the momentum necessary for a bullish turnaround.

Traders and investors keenly await a boost in volume as it could potentially signal a shift in market sentiment, potentially propelling SHIB towards its near-term target of $0.00000980.

$120 Million Of Aave Funds Stuck In Polygon, Good For Bears? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Following a recent update, over $120 million of Aave v2, a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol for lending and borrowing tokens, user assets are stuck on Polygon.

Bug On Aave v2 On Polygon

The bug affecting withdrawals from Aave v2 deployed on Polygon, an Ethereum side-chain, has been pinned to the recent implementation of proposal 224.

Proposal 224 sought to make parameter changes for the benefit of the protocol in light of shifts in the crypto market . The adjustment received majority support and was implemented.

However, after the execution, the DeFi protocol was notified of several issues affecting the interest rate strategy contracts applied to the wrapped versions of Bitcoin, Ethereum, MATICthe native currency of Polygon, and USDTthe worlds most liquid stablecoin.

The development team has said the root cause was because the updated version, especially relating to the LendingPool to call the rate strategy of an asset applied on Polygon, was slightly different from that integrated with Ethereum. While users cant withdraw assets, the DeFi protocol emphasizes that all funds are safe.

Beyond the explainer released by Aave, analysts pin the specific problem on the incompatibility issue between the ReserveInterestRateStrategy contract and the underlying Polygon network.

Since the contract was designed to work specifically on Ethereum, as Aave mentioned, it couldnt work on Polygon, causing it to fail. Subsequently, users couldnt withdraw their tokens.

Compatibility Problems

The ReserveInterestRateStrategy contract is a core contract in Aave that helps calculate and apply interest rates to borrowed loans.

To correctly function, the autonomous contract factors in several things, including prevailing market forces, the risk of user defaulting, and the collateralization ratio.

In Aave, all loans are overcollateralized, meaning a borrower must commit more collateral than the amount they wish to borrow.

The Aave team plans to fix the bug, subject to the result of the ongoing vote. Though the community wants the problem to be fixed, affected users will only begin...

Bitcoin In Trouble: Market Guru Predicts Price Dip Below $20,000 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin (BTC) has been struggling to regain its momentum as its price remains stuck below the $27,000 mark. This prolonged period of stagnation has prompted Michael J. Kramer, a renowned market strategist, to voice his apprehensions about an impending market breakdown for Bitcoin.

Taking to Twitter, Kramer shared his concerns, highlighting the potential risks and uncertainties surrounding the cryptocurrencys price trajectory.

As the cryptocurrencys value remains inert, it is crucial to examine the factors contributing to this situation and delve into its implications for investors and the broader crypto landscape.

Bitcoin Price: Concerns Arise Over Potential Slide Below $20K

As the cryptocurrency market faces another bout of turbulence, Bitcoins price has faltered, with the current value pegged at $26,863, according to CoinGecko. The crypto has lost 2.1% of its value in the last seven days.

In his analysis, Kramer not only highlights the potential for Bitcoin to reach the critical psychological level of $20,000 but also draws attention to the implications such a downturn may have on the broader stock market.

Bitcoin serves as a barometer for other risk assets, providing valuable insights into market sentiment. Should Bitcoin experience a substantial slide below the $20,000 threshold, it could signal confidence in the stock market and other asset classes.

At first blush, Schoolhouse Rock!, the interstitial animations airing between ABCs Saturday morning cartoon line up from 1973 to 1984, may seem like a catchy, educational equivalent of sneaking spinach into pancakes (and a major Gen X touchstone.)

Not so fast! Its also jazz, baby!

Jazz pianist Bob Dorough recalled how an ad exec at a New York ad agency pitched the idea:

My little boys cant memorize their times tables, but they sing along with Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones, so why dont you put it to rock music and well call it Multiplication Rock?

Dorough, whose compositional preferences ran to extravagant love songs and vocal challenging numbers, realized that his first order of business would be to write a good song:

I hit upon the idea, lets pick a number. Three! Thats a good number. And I sat down at the piano and started fooling around. It took me 2 weeks.

In his hands, three became a magic number, an ear worm to bring even the most reluctant elementary mathematicians up to speed in no time.

Martin Amis (RIP) Explains Why American Populism Is a Con "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In the later decades of his 50-year-long career as a novelist, the late Martin Amis had a reputation as something of a controversialist. This made more sense in his native England than in the America to which he later relocated, and whose largely non-literary provocateurs tend to an aggressive plainspokenness bordering on and more recently, driving well into the territory of vulgarity. Intellectual snobbery has been much neglected, says Amis in the Big Think interview clip above. His plea is for more care about how people express themselves and more reverence, not for people of high social standing, but for people of decent education and training.

This against populism, which relies on a sentimental and very old-fashioned view that the uneducated population knows better, in its instincts, than the over-refined elite, that leads to anti-intellectualism, which is self-destructive for everyone: the lionization, in other words, of the kind of figure given to declarations like I go with my gut.

Buckling under pressure from Catholic and conservative groups, the Dodgers abruptly disinvited the colorful drag queen charitable organization known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from their upcoming annual LGBT Pride Night. The Sisters, infamous for their satire of the Catholic Church, yet applauded for their vast community service, were initially lauded as honorees. Critics like Senator Marco Rubio and Catholic League President Bill Donohue spurred the Dodgers' stunning about-face with accusations of anti-Catholic bigotry. However, the LGBT community has reacted in response with LA LGBT Center and ACLU of Southern California threatening to boycott the pride event unless the Dodgers re-invite the Sisters back to the lineup.

Pet owners are a certain breed of people, and almost to a person, would be willing to sacrifice pretty much anything for their animals.

We know they depend on us for care, and honestly, we dont really understand people who dont like animals.

OP has a teenaged daughter and a new fiancee who recently moved in. Things are going great except for one thing he doesnt like her daughters cat.

Hes tried to make all kinds of weird rules about the cat and where it can and cant go, and even threatened that he thought things would be different once they were married.

I f35 got engaged to my fianc Eric m37 2 months ago. He moved in with me and my daughter Zoey f13. Everything was going well til he started complaining about Zoeys cat which is strange because the cat is so sweet and quiet most of the time and so I had no idea what the issue was exactly.

Anyways, he went from complaining about the cat to making demands about her. He gave Zoey a list of places the cat can/cant go, things shes allowed to touch, banned her from places like kitchen and sofa (Zoeys favorite place to cuddle with her cat).

Zoey showed me this list and I had an argument with him telling him he needed to stop this because it was ridiculous.

He ranted about this being his house too and how he expects things to change after we get married.

Then one day, her daughter was upset about not being able to find her cat, and when OP came home to help look, the neighbor said she saw the fiancee leave the cat outside when he left the house.

Few days ago, I was at work and got a call from Zoey crying saying her cat wasnt in her room and in the house. I freaked out too and went home to look for her. Zoey...

As Yuri Bezmenov even admitted. As he said, his main reason for defecting after realizing the lies behind the Communist campaigns of demoralizing and destabilizing societies was watching what happened to all the useful idiots who aided and abetted the cause of converting a culture to the Communist abomination. These would be the first to end up in firing squads once they realized they has been tricked and used. They would become the new disenfranchised enemy of the Communists.

They describe the calm feeling that washes over them as they do their painstaking, hand-stitched work and the connection they feel not only with each other, but also with God. But its plain to see that despite all of their fame, many of the community members still struggle to make ends meet

Seeking Histories and Futures in Soil "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Starting in the mid-20th century, humans began to move around more soil than the natural forces of erosion and volcanic activity taken together we became geological agents, as environmental historian John McNeill has written in Something New Under the Sun (2000). Land art took off at around the same time, with artists like Michael Heizer, Robert Smithson, and Walter De Maria changing the contours of remote places. Decades later we are contending with the consequences of our past actions as earth movers with limited understanding of soils and their histories. But as historian Gabrielle Hecht has argued, saying that we are terraforming agents responsible for erosion or ecosystem collapse obscures extractive histories and their unequal distribution among communities. Todays artists often refrain from imprinting their vision upon the land, instead bringing the soil into the gallery as an archive of nature-human interactions: a cultural record of dispossession and abject ecologies, but also of resilience.

The land artists of the previous century also br...

Listening to the Wisdom of Chinese Animal Idioms "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

When learning languages, I love to learn idioms. They often reflect the uniqueness of a language, told through the lens of the cultural values and perspectives of those who speak it. In Chinese, idioms often take the form of pithy, four-character phrases known as chengyu (). While not exactly a chengyu, the English phrase long time no see is likely a literal translation of the Chinese hao jiu mei jian).

Well, buckle up, because it sounds like scientists believe there might be more coming (though we probably wont be around for those, either).

This paper by two University of Portsmouth theoretical physicists is yet to be peer reviewed, but in it, they suggest that dark energy could switch on and off which means someday, it will come back on.

MrBeast Responds To Being Canceled For Buying Neighborhood For His Staff And Family To Live In "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

MrBeast has reacted to being cancelled because he purportedly bought almost all of the houses on one street so that his staff could live in them.

Jimmy Donaldson, a famous content maker also known as Mr. Beast, is said to have bought several houses on a cul-de-sac in the southeast areas of Greenville, North Carolina for his workers and family to live in.

MrBeast has made a name for himself by doing tricks, jokes, giving away money, and doing good things like giving hearing aids to 1,000 deaf people. Now, he has given his employees stress-free housing close to work so they dont have to waste time traveling.

The normally devoted fans of the YouTuber, who is now 25 years old, were, however, caught aback by the neighborhood, which is not far from the place where the YouTuber spent his formative years.

One tweeted: That sounds very culty lol.

The next Jonestown will happen here, darkly quipped another person. A third stated: Imagine losing your job and your house on the same day. Thats what company towns are. Your employer owns every aspect of your life.

However, it wasnt all negative feedback from his devoted following.

One tweeted: Theres always someone who wants to ruin the fun, right? I dont see anything wrong with helping people in need without strings attached. A second said: You could rid of the entire world of debt and someone somewhere would find something negative to say about it. Nothing you can do. A third quipped that the haters were clutching at straws: They really scraping at the bottom if the barrel to cancel this man.

Now, MrBeast himself has gotten behind his computer keyboard to answer to the criticism that has been leveled at him, saying while he joked to his 20.4m followers: Only I could get canceled for giving people a place to live with no strings attached.. All these company town tweets make no sense, I was just helping some people.

According to sources from The New York Post, MrBeast acquired his own 3,000 square foot, four-bedroom house in 2018 for a price that was relatively low at $320,000. This property was the first one on the block to be bought by him.

After that, he started purchasing more properties on the same street off-market and for more than they were worth at the time.

On the block, there is still one home that has...

Pizzeria Singers Dazzle the World With Their Awe-Inspiring Covers of Classic Songs

Sounds of Silence Cover

There are covers that are thought to be better than the Hurt by Nine Inch Nails, or Jeff Buckley's rendition of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. They are in the realm of famous singers covering equally well-known composers. But there are some musicians, who, despite their perceived obscurity, have performed versions of classic songs that rival the original recording. This is the case of Mike Mass and Jeff Hall, two musicians who have developed a loyal following thanks to their covers.

Although Mass and Hall's most famous covers were originally posted to YouTube over 10 years ago, their display of talent routinely gets spun around social media every once in a while. For example, their 2010 rendition of Toto's Africa was recently shared on Reddit. There, it earned over 16,000 upvotes as users praised their harmonies and their vibrant delivery of the song.

Overall, their most famous and applauded cover is that of Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence. Relying on the strength of their harmonies rather than building toward something innovative, Mass and...

Crypto Expert Predicts Ethereum (ETH) To Reach $457,000 Heres How "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The world of crypto is filled with fascinating possibilities and unexpected growth. In a recent series of tweets, Adam Cochran, a partner at CEHV, sparked a wave of Ethereum discussions by presenting a compelling case for Ethereums token, ETH, to potentially surge to as high as $457,081.

Revealing The Analysis

Cochran addressed skeptics who questioned the feasibility of ETH experiencing a 20x increase, comparing it to the market capitalizations of tech giants like Apple and Amazon. He emphasized that Ethereum should not be viewed as a traditional company, but rather as a groundbreaking blockchain-based infrastructure that transcends conventional boundaries.

Cochrans analysis took inspiration from the sheer magnitude of securities processed through clearing houses, reaching an astounding $2.5 quadrillion last year. Contemplating the possibility of conducting this process on the Ethereum blockchain with a meager 0.05% gas fee, Cochran envisioned an annual burn of $1.25 trillion worth of ETH, equivalent to 5.7 times the current market cap.

Building upon this foundation, he extrapolated a forward-looking multiple that projected Ethereums potential value to approach $35 trillion.

Cochrans projection gained more momentum as he introduced the concept of a compounding burn rate. Assuming an annual compounding burn rate of 2% or more over a 20-year period, the value per ETH could potentially skyrocket to $457,081.

Moreover, Cochran acknowledged that achieving a scenario where 100% of global securities settlement occurs on Ethereum within two decades might be unlikely, but settling 10% within a decade appeared feasible.

Ethereum Value And Market Reach

Beyond the securities market, Cochran proposed that Ethereum could capture additional value-based markets, further propelling its growth. He argued that settling 10% of global securities and tapping into other value markets could realistically lead to a 30x-35x increase in value within the next decade, even accounting for a 33% margin of error.

Notably, Cochrans analysis sheds light on Ethereums potential to disrupt traditional intermediaries, offering reliable and affordable settlement solutions. With trillions of dollars in annual turnover up for grabs, the prospect of eliminating trusted intermediaries become increasingly enticing for various markets worldwide.

While Cochran...

Performer Poignantly Explores the Paths of Relationships in a Gravity-Defying Dance

Gravity-Defying Choreography on a Spinning Platform Explores the Path of Relationships

Photo: Screenshot from Instagram

French dancer Yoann Bourgeois has dazzled the world with mesmerizing choreographies that explore life's trials and tribulations. He has previously illustrated how success is rarely linear through an acrobatic routine featuring a staircase and a trampoline, which marveled onlookers given the grace with which he fell and was propelled back. Now, another of his works is making waves online thanks to its complexity and subject matter. He is joined by his partner Marie as they defy gravity upon a spinning wooden platform to depict the path of relationships throughout life.

This piece is titled Houvari, and the Bourgeoises have performed it as part of their exhibition programs since at least 2019 in Hong Kong, Spain, and most recently, a venue called HangarY in Yoann's native France. This is where a video of the choreography was shot in October 2022 by Instagram user bademivs. It went on to earn over a million likes thanks to the relatability and power of the feelings expressed by the dancers.

The dance starts with both performers walking on opposite ends of the wooden turntable. At one point, Yoann stops and begins walking in the other direction. He bumps into the woman, creating a short and almost awkward encounter, so they go back to walking in their separate corners. Later, Marie stops, and Yoann inevitably crosses paths with her. After what looks like...

Watch an Athletic Kitty Jump Through Obstacles With Increasing Difficulty "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Watch an Athletic Kitty Jump Through Obstacles With Increasing Difficulty

Screenshots of video showing cat jumping through holes of various shapes and sizes

Photo: Screenshots from TikTok

If you've ever been around a cat, you know they can be quite athletic. Felines are often incredible jumpers who have a knack for getting through very narrow species. These qualities, in fact, have inspired many to say that cats are liquid. As if to further prove this, a TikTok account produces videos featuring narrow holes of many shapes and sizes and challenges one clever feline to go through them. The results are very interesting, of course, but also terribly funny.

The Sydney Chat TikTok account stars one orange tabby. Lately, its humans have presented Sydney with unique obstacles to see the size of holes that the cat can go through. To make it easy for us to follow along, the size of each spacewhich can be round, rectangular, or square-shapedis clearly marked. The trick relies on blocking each one once the cat has gone through it, which usually ends with a bewildered Sydney having to face a very narrow way out, typically five or six centimeters (two to about two and a half inches) wide.

The obstacles set by Sydney's owners often feature a bit of a test. While they usually add a 20 or 25 centimeters (eight or 10 inches) hole for the cat to cross, it's usually at a higher level. This leads Sydney to wonder, Is it better to jump, or should I try to cross the tiny window at ground level? The true hilarious moments take place when, once all the wider holes have been covered, Sydney opts for jumping over the entire obstacle. This leads its human to add yet another piece of cardboard atop the barrier to make it taller and prevent the cat from escaping that way....

Render (RNDR) Price Surges 32% In Single Week Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Render (RNDR) has been on an upward trajectory, recording some of the biggest profits in the crypto market this past week. This show of strength by the metaverse cryptocurrency coincides with a busy week dominated by the bulls.

However, it appears that the RNDR price increase is not a result of general market sentiment. So, what could be driving up the value of Render?

RNDR Gains 32% In One Week Price Overview

After a period of sideways movement, the price of RNDR has chosen to go upward to become one of the biggest gainers this past week. According to CoinGecko data, this coin has ballooned by more than 32% in the last seven days.

It is worth noting that most of this price increase happened in two days on the 17th and 18th of May. In an almost vertical rise, RNDR surged in value by more than 20% on Wednesday, May 17. This price rise is understood to be a reaction to the news of Apple launching its VR headset.

RNDR, the utility token of the Render Network, didnt have a great market performance in 2022, sinking as low as $0.325 at some point in the year. However, the cryptocurrency has been on an excellent recovery, gaining nearly 500% since the turn of 2023.

As of this writing, the RNDR token changes hands at $2.36, with a 2.8% price increase in the past 24 hours. That said, price data reveals that the coin has not made any significant movement since Thursday, consolidating around the $2.50 price level.

How Apples VR Headset Will Affect RNDR Price

As earlier mentioned, the price surge experienced by RNDR in the past week was primarily due to the rumors of Apple launching its highly-anticipated VR headset next month. In fact, most metaverse tokens, including MANA, ICP, SAND, etc., enjoyed a bullish run as a result of the news.

The Render Network offers decentralized GPU-base...

Innovative Concept Takes Visitors Underground in the National Archeological Museum of Athens "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Innovative Concept Takes Visitors Underground in the National Archeological Museum of Athens

Proposal for National Archeological Museum Athens by Kengo Kuma

Though their proposal didn't win the competition, Kengo Kuma and Associates and K-Studio created a memorable design for the expansion of the National Archeological Museum in Athens, Greece. Titled Unearth, the underground extension looks like it was formed by slightly raising the earth as a tent for archeological treasures.

The idea is that the design evokes the concept of buried treasure in an effort to remind the public of the museum's history. The slit-like opening by lifting the earth would evoke curiosity and draw visitors into the deep spacious underground realm as if one would be discovering, submerging, maneuvering among the artifacts in their buried state, explain the architects.

A museum garden stretching over the entire expanse of the lifted earth roof almost appears as a floating garden to pedestrians on the sidewalk. Sitting at the same level as the existing building, the lush landscape would provide continuity between the current building and the new expansion.

Below, in the warm and earthy interior, visitors are greeted by an enormous open space that is partially illuminated by a large clerestory. This opening allows natural light to penetrate the space. The column-free interior is quite different than the linear exhibition spaces in the existing building. The open floor plan allows for both permanent and temporary exhibitions and would mean the museum could show large sculptures that are difficult to display in the existing museum.

While a more conventional design by David Chipperfield Architects ultimately won the commission, we can't help but admire the bold architecture proposed by Kengo Kuma and Associ...

Decoding Bitcoins Transaction Surge: The Emergence Of Historys Greatest Accounting Innovation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Darin Feinstein, the co-founder and co-chairman of Bitcoin mining firm Core Scientific.

The recent surge in transaction volume on the Bitcoin network has sparked conversation and debate about heightened transaction fees and Bitcoin's overall goals and purpose. This has resulted in questions regarding the network's future and its ability to handle the increasing demand.

In response to those questions, it can be helpful to consider the intricacies of Bitcoins transaction volume through an accounting lens, as the Bitcoin network, at its foundation, is an accounting ledger with its data written to a public chain and recorded forever. Through this lens, well delve into why Bitcoins transaction volume matters, how often such surges will occur and whether or not this growth is sustainable.

The Accounting Innovation Of Bitcoin

As an accounting ledger, Bitcoin represents the first true accounting innovation in more than 700 years, marking a transition from the legacy, stakeholder-controlled, private, double-entry accounting systems to a public, triple-entry system.

Triple entry simply means that two-party transactions (debit and credit) are written to a public, immutable ledger (the third entry). Public means that the ledger is accessible at any time by anyone on the Bitcoin network.

The accounting innovation here is simply the removal of stakeholders (humans) in exchange for machines (aka, servers and nodes) that run difficulty-adjusted proof of work (PoW). Bitcoin uses PoW to substantiate the entries, instead of relying on stakeholders who may be biased or incentivized to commit fraud or manipulate the ledgers. This means that the miners and nodes control the network in an unbiased, free-from-manipulation environment, not humans.

In contrast, all legacy accounting technologies relied on trusted third parties, known as the stakeholders. The fatal problem with a stakeholder-controlled system is that humans are flawed, and the ledgers are subject to human error, fraud, censorship and manipulation.

Until Bitcoin, every government, every bank, and every corporation on earth has used private, double-entry accounting systems controlled 100% by the stakeholders. This means that the stakeholders can alter the books and records of all of these legacy systems in secret, away from the public eye. In order to catch fraud, corruption or even error, the entire stakeholder-controlled system including every transaction traced back to its root would need to be audited. This process is time consuming, complicated and cumbersome, and like all...

The Five Food Ingredients You Dont Want In Your Food "IndyWatch Feed Health"

On April 11th, the California Assemblys Health Committee gave the green light to a bill outlawing five potentially harmful chemical food ingredients: brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, Red Dye No. 3, and titanium dioxide. These substances, found in a plethora of foodstuffs like candies, cereals, and a myriad of typical grocery items in the United States, have raised health concerns, prompting this legislative move. Therefore, its vital to stay informed and examine product labels for the presence of these ingredients.

A Closer Look at the Quintet of Food Ingredients to Avoid

These five culprits have been on the negative radar for some time. European countries have already enforced bans, and now California has joined this health-conscious initiative. However, they can still be found lurking in many food products, hence the necessity of scrutinizing product labels. If detected, its recommended to return the product to the shelf and opt for healthier alternatives. (1, 2)

  1. Brominated Vegetable Oil

Often present in sports beverages, brominated vegetable oil serves as an emulsifier, which helps to merge components that usually resist unification, such as oil and water. Another unconventional use includes preventing the flame retardant in paper products from igniting. It can be spotted in approximately 70 distinct soda variants, especially those with vivid citrus flavor, as it prevents citrus essences from splitting and rising to the surface. (3)

The principal issue centers on bromine. Research indicates that bromine impacts the nervous system and may even instigate tumor development in mice. Despite the FDA stating no evidence supports that brominated vegetable oil is unsafe for human consumption, it remains a contentious ingredient due to these concerns.

  1. Potassium Bromate

Favored by bakers and brewers, potassium bromate is a chemical additive that promotes superior rise and texture in baked goods. It can be traced in numerous packaged breads, dumplings, and frozen food items. Although studies have hinted at its potential carcinogenicity, the FDA tightly controls its use, permitting just one teaspoon per 800 cups of flour in any given product. The cooking process supposedly reduces, if not eliminates, residual potassium bromate in the end product. So far, theres no evidence suggesting harmful effects in humans from the detected levels of potassium bromate in food, but the precautionary principle still motivates many to avoid it. (4, 5)

  1. Propylparaben

A popular preservative used to impede mold growth and prolong product shelf life, propylparaben is prevalent in numerous American products, from cake icing and baked desserts to corn tortillas. Its also common in water-based cosmetics. Known to induce skin irritation and alle...

Conflux Token (CFX) Retraces After 39% Gains In Seven Days "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Conflux (CFX), the token powering Confluxs high throughput, Tree-Graph powered layer-1 blockchain, experienced a rollercoaster ride in a whirlwind of price fluctuations. Last week, it tumbled to a low of $0.20 per token, leaving observers on edge. However, it managed to climb back up over the course of the week, reaching a level of $0.330.

However, the token has faced a downward trajectory in the past four days, resulting in a decrease of over 19% in price. CoinMarketCap data shows that CFX has dipped around 2% in the last 24 hours. Despite this recent dip, optimistic projections for its future price persist.

Conflux price has retraced in the past 24 hours: source @coinmarketcap

While it may have encountered some setbacks, Conflux has remained one of the top performers in the past seven days, impressively gaining over 30% during this period. Maintaining a position above the key support level of $0.295, which aligns with the previous weeks high, provides some stability amidst the turbulence.

Whats Driving Conflux (CFX) Growth?

Conflux (CFX) has been making waves with its remarkable on-the-year gains of approximately 1,700%. Naturally, observers are curious about the role of whales in this upward surge, speculating whether they are driving the buying and pumping of the token. While its a possibility, we cant say for certain.

The impressive performance of Conflux coincides with the optimism surrounding Chinas renewed interest in cryptocurrencies. As the country seemingly shifts its stance towards the crypto industry, there are hopes that Conflux will reap the benefits. The project has been actively fostering partnerships with various regional enterprises, positioning itself as a potential frontrunner in meeting regulatory requirements.

Tornado Cash (TORN) Suffers 27% Drop As Hackers Strike "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Tornado Cash (TORN) has experienced a sudden fall in its market price over the last few hours following news of the DeFi protocol suffering a crypto exploit late yesterday. According to data from CoinMarketCap, Tornado Cash is down 28.25% in the last 24 hours, albeit this only represents a retraced value.

Following news of TORNs attack, the token initially dropped by over 60% before finding support around the price region of $3.86. Since then, TORN has made some upward movement, however not sufficient to cover up the earlier loss.

TORN Governance System Breached: $2M Stolen

Through a malicious governance proposal, a hacker gained control of Tornados Cash Governance, allocating 1,200,000 votes to themselves.

According to Chinese reporter Colin Wu, the hacker used their newly gained control to move a total of 483,000 TORN out of the Tornado Cash governance vault worth about $2 million at the present market price of $4.5.

The hacker then proceeded to deposit 6,000 TORN on the Bitrue exchange and swapped the remaining 379,300 TORN on-chain for 375ETH. Currently, there has been no official statement from Bitrue on this development.

Meanwhile, all TORN investors have been urged to withdraw all their governance-locked funds from the project developers. In addition, the Binance exchange has suspended TORN deposits pending a solution to the governance issue.

High Five For Moms! "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

5 Kids Cathy
Note: Cathy is celebrating her daughter's COLLEGE graduation today and has the day off. How the years have flown by. Last week was Mother's Day, but today's Best of is a tribute to all Moms, written by one of the best. Our Cathy.

By Cathy Jameson

My youngest childs recent birthday marked a monumental moment for me and my husband.  We are now parents of 5 teenagers.  Five!  No wonder lifes been a bit busier than usual.

No matter their ages, though, lifes always been busy for us.  Some of the busy is good it keeps us out of the house and active in our community.  Some of the busy can sometimes be overwhelming, for both the kids and for me.  For each of us, this year has had more stressors thanks to COVID19.  Despite those stressors, well, and because of those, its been one of the most trying years ever.  When lifes been flipped upside down, especially by someone or something else, it makes it hard to move in a forward direction.  Getting to celebrate a happy birthday in the middle of one of our busiest weeks put the biggest smile of my face.  That time to pause, to focus on life, and to celebrate it (with cake!) put things into perspective for me.

Were still here.

Were still doing things.

Were still taking time to be thankful.

Being thankful for happy celebrations is easy.  Being thankful to be living in a world where the new normal is anything but normal takes effort.  When I look at whats going on in the news and hear how others are living in fear, I see a world that I dont recognize anymore.  Society seems to have lost its mind with a novel virus thats got a pretty high recovery rate.  Terrified of humans and interacting with them, Ive never seen anything like it in my life!

Life, as interrupted and upside down as it is, must go on.  My kids cant do everything they used to with some places still closed, but they can pursue living outside of other peoples comfort zones.  So they do.

Theyve participated on sports teams and excelled.

Theyve joined afterschool clubs and learned.

Theyve joined other families for get togethers and enjoyed it.

In the beginning, we all felt a little rebellious going against the hive mind.  Television doctors told us to stay home.  Politicians told us to stay home. ...

Gen Z Goth Assumed Alice Coopers Music Would Sound Better "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

BROCKPORT, N.Y. Local goth Adriana Ross was let down by her assumption that the music of longtime rocker Alice Cooper would sound, you know, different, pasty sources report.

I saw a photo on Instagram of Alice Cooper and I thought, wow, this guys music must be some OG goth shit, Ross said. Boy, was I very, very wrong. With his aesthetic, I expected something like The Cure, or maybe even some cool death rock like 45 Grave or something. But no, all I heard was some corny-ass dinosaur rock. No More Mr. Nice Guy? Thrill My Gorilla? What the fuck is that? I should have known I was getting into some cheesy shit when I saw at one point he had Rambo as a guitarist.

Alice Cooper weighed in on this seemingly frequent misunderstanding among new listeners.

To be honest, its never easy. For decades, Ive had to deal with younger generations of goths who are unfamiliar with my career, and shoulder their disappointment after their first listen, Cooper explained while adjusting his top hat. I dont enjoy seeing goths cry because of the pain I caused them from hearing a 75-year-old man sing about how awesome it is being 18. Id much rather lose my head in an actual guillotine than deal with that one more time.

Veteran music critic Robert Lopez gave his insight regarding the world of visually deceptive artists.

There have been many musicians aside from Alice Cooper who deceive goths into thinking their music may fit their tastes, Lopez explained. For example, a slew of them lost their shit over hearing King Diamond for the first time. I suppose they expect some sort of badass satanic Bauhaus or something, when in reality, theyre getting a badass satanic Frankie Valli. Its really a win-win if you ask me.

At press time, Ross was tweeting about Coopers appearance in Waynes World.

Every Arctic Monkeys Album Ranked "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Englands finest indie export has made a full career out of dividing their massive fan base over the course of their sixteen-year and counting run. Each album seems to be more confounding than the last, and just when youre used to the groups signature guitar-heavy sound, they suddenly morph into a different band. Because of this, you may be asking yourself: How do I possibly begin to rank their studio output? Slow down, buddy. Thats what were here for. Before you have an aneurysm attempting to sort through their fantastic discography on your own, we present to you the definitive and totally correct ranking of the Sheffield quartets records.

Apparently, this records title is a British colloquialism that means give it a try, which is the exact amount of effort a listener should be expected to put in here. The band tracked this one mostly live, while inexplicably thus far to tape. Quite the feat considering how well-known they were for their explosive performances at the time. Nobody sounds less excited to be on the record than lead singer and frontman, Alex Turner, who delivers his vocals as if hes half asleep while sadly only fully waking for some of the albums weakest tracks. To quote Turner, himself, ipp, dipp, dog-shit rock and roll, indeed.

Complex Chord Necessitates Some Toes Too "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

BEACON, N.Y. Local guitarist Heff Kelsey was baffled after discovering the piece of music he was playing reportedly required a chord so difficult that he needed to use some toes, sources confirmed while holding their noses.

Ive seen some doozy finger placements in my career, but nothing that required me to take my socks and shoes off first. This is completely new territory for me, said Kelsey. I just wish I werent so out of shape. The sheet music calls for a special training regimen to go along with it. Ive added an elliptical machine and a couple medicine balls to my gear rig. I guess even if I dont get to play this chord, Ill probably be able to play a xylophone solo on my abs.

Acquaintances of Kelsey found his methods of rehearsal unsettling.

Im trying to keep an encouraging mindset, but Im honestly a little frustrated that Hef keeps borrowing my guitar to practice this stupid foot chord. The guys a professional, he owns like thirty different guitars of his own, said friend and musician Milton Susk. But suddenly, when constant toe contact is on the table, he needs to borrow my instrument. Did he tell you about his rampant fungus problem? No, I thought notWell, I guess Heff has thirty ONE guitars now.

Yoga instructor Elaine Winnifred has noticed a need for better health in the experimental music community.

I run special stretching seminars three times a week for experimental musicians who are trying to play their instruments in new and exciting ways, said Winnifred. Stringed instruments are especially tricky, and it isnt wise to attempt playing a crazy-ass chord without our assistance for at least a couple weeks. Forgoing our licensed help could prove unsafe, and in some cases, sadly end in the musician being maimed, dismembered, or even beheaded. Ok, well, maybe not beheaded yetbut it could happen one day.

At press time, Kelseys maiden attempt to play the chord landed him in a full body cast with only limited brain function. Doctors expect that hell have to start from square one and re-learn how to even hold a guitar.

Review: Hank Wood and The Hammerheads Self-Titled "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Today the Hard Times listens to the third and latest full-length of New York Citys own Hank Wood and the Hammerheads. This self-titled release, like their first two records, kicks all sorts of ass. Quite frankly, it makes me want to hop in the nearest vehicle and triumphantly drive that sucker straight off a cliff into the wild blue yonder.

So, for the sake of honest music journalism, thats exactly what I did.

I dont have a drivers license, so veering the car wildly off course and into a crevasse was actually pretty simple, and with the pulsing, organ-squealing thump of the Hammerheads in the air, I was mid-plummet in no time! Id better write this sucker fast!

Do I regret my decision? Well, I didnt at first, but now that the ground is getting closer and closer, and my life is flashing before my eyes (Dang it, I knew I should have led a more interesting life) Im beginning to think I was a bit rash

But then Howm I Supposed To Wake Up In The Morning or Love is a Cold White Tile starts up and Im back on board with my experiment how could I ever have doubted myself? Im a real-life Wile E. Coyote, high-fiving nervous-looking birds on my way down and honking the horn for pesky clouds to get out of my way. This is what music is all about.

Fuck it, folks. If youve heard this record, youd understand. And Ill be sure to keep a couple parking spaces open for you at the bottom of this ravine. Just follow the sweet strains of Woods sultry grunt.

Anyhow, its been a few years since this was released, I hope Hank and the gang make another record soon. That said, odds are, this crash is going to do some pretty heavy damage to the ol skeleton and who knows if Ill be able to hear through the muffle of the body cast gauze, so its just as well. Until then, does anyone know the airbag situation on a 2003 Nissan Altima? You know what, never mind Ill find out soon enough.

Score: 10/10 vertical feet to impact.

Real Life Golden Girls? Were All Going To Need Roommates Well Into Old Age "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Great news, Goldenheads! Do you ever wish that you could live out the experience of being a Golden Girl? Well as the concept of retirement becomes harder to imagine for most Millennials and Gen Z, theres a good chance that you too will be in need of living with roommates for financial support!

Have you ever watched Golden Girls and thought to yourself, These women are all in their sixties. They have jobs. They probably have social security checks. Maybe a couple have pensions from their late husbands and another has alimony. Do they really still need to rely on roommates to pay bills? Well for a forty-year-old show, its more realistic than ever! And if thats the case now, just imagine when youre at that age too!

Picture the United States in 2067. The country is in shambles. Entire neighborhoods are replaced with Mega City One-type condominiums. Inflation and property values have raised the average rent price so high you need at least six freelance gigs just to live. You try, but they all require 40 years experience. The only way to support yourself is to live with roommates. Any luck and youll find your choices to include a flirtatious southerner, a ditzy midwesterner, and a sarcastic New Yorker who brought their mom. Thats where youll build the strongest friendships of your life.

Think of all the fun you will have. You can live with your own Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and of course a Sofia because were gonna have trouble supporting our parents as well. Together you can sit over cheesecake as you call one of your roommates a slut and another one an idiot. Itll be an interactive experience more powerful than any VR!

For even better news, you probably wont have a simple house with just four people. Think of those tiny apartments tech people brag about living in where they share it with 12 other roommates. Now picture that but youre 60 and theyre all several Sophias and Branches!

And as you sit in that tiny apartment, arguing about whos clogged the sink in the only bathroom, you can turn to one another and say, Thank you for being a friend.

New Report Reveals the Declining Role of Religion in American Society "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A new report from a non-profit and non-partisan research center reveals that fewer Americans see religion's importance in their lives than a decade ago, showing how the religious landscape in the United States has changed dramatically.

In the report titled Religion and Congregations in a Time of Social and Political Upheaval, the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) studied the changing dynamics of religion as the United States continues to experience massive changes in its political and cultural landscape amidst events like the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 elections that resulted in the insurrection at the US Capitol, and battles for reproductive and LGBTQIA+ rights across state legislatures.

For the report, the PRRI surveyed 6,600 adults across all 50 states. The study looked at the importance of religion among Americans and delved deep into other aspects of their religious attitudes, like religious attendance, discussions on complex issues and topics, and churches being involved in politics.

Like most studies from other research centers, the PRRI found that the religious landscape in the United States is becoming more dynamic and diverse. Only 42% of Americans identify as white Christians, compared to 54% in 2006 and 72% in 1990. On the other hand, the proportion of religiously unaffiliated Americans grew from 16% in 2006 to 27% today.

Clergy Sexual Abuse: French Catholic Church's New Digital ID Strategy "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

In a bid to tackle sexual abuse that has rattled the institution for years, the Catholic Church in France issued new digital ID cards with scannable QR codes to members of the clergy to help identify priests who face charges of sexual abuse.

The French Bishops Conference (CBF) announced on May 10th that it would equip bishops, deacons, priests, and other Church members with digital identification cards that will provide background information on the holder. This ID is no bigger than a bank card, and they will certify whether a clergyman can perform a sermon or hear confessions.

Anyone can easily access information about a clergy member by scanning the QR code on the ID card; the ID identifies them based on color-coded categories. Green means a priest has no restrictions in place and can freely hold masses or hear confessions. Orange means some limits are in place (an example could be a young priest who was ordained recently and isnt qualified to lead sermons or hear confessions yet). But if the QR code shows red, the priest was stripped of clerical status and could no longer hear confessions or host sermons.

How Important is Religion to Urban Indians? New Survey Offers Answers "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A new global religion survey by Ipsos discovered that 8 out of 10 urban Indians believe in the existence of God and claim to be comfortable around different faiths amidst rising Hindu nationalism and sectarian violence in the country.

The Global Religion 2023; Religious Beliefs Around the World survey was conducted in 26 countries through the IndiaBus platform in India and the Global Advisor online survey platform from January 20 to February 3, 2023. The results of this study were based on the interviews of 19,731 adults aged 18 and over in the surveyed countries, including India.

In the survey, 86% of the polled urban Indians agree that religious practices are an essential factor in the moral life of citizens, and 83% of them believe that religion helps them overcome obstacles in life. These results are in stark difference to other countries like Japan, where only 37% of those polled agree that being religious is important in overcoming crises in life.

In addition, 8 out of 10 urban residents in India believe that religious people are happier, and 86% of Indians claim that religion defines their identity. 83% of Indians surveyed also believe that faith gives life meaning. However, 73% of the surveyed Indians agree that religion does more harm than good, compared to the 47% global average.

The results of the survey reflect Indias religious landscape. While countries like the United States saw a rise in the number of religiously unaffiliated Americans, 99% of the Indians polled in the survey identified with a religion (e.g., Christian, Muslim, Others), and only 1% were religiously unaffiliated. 70% of Indians of different religions also said they believe in God, as described by religious texts, while 11% believed in a higher power or spirit.

Speaking of the religiously unaffiliated, 73% of urban Indians surveyed in the study said they lose respect for people who do not believe in a religion or God, and they are the only demographic who reported a majority who agree with this sentiment, compared to 14% of Americans and 10% of Japanese who say they lose respect over non-religious people.

Drag Queen Nuns Disinvited from Baseball Event After Catholic Backlash "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

After receiving backlash from Catholic leaders and conservative politicians, the Los Angeles Dodgers decided to call off its invitation to a group of drag nun performers for its LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16th.

The California-based baseball team released a statement on Twitter on May 18th regarding their decision to withdraw the honoring of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI), a drag group founded in 1979, during their annual pride night.

This year, as part of a full night of programming, we invited a number of groups to join us. We are now aware that our inclusion of one group in particular - The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence - in this years pride night has been the source of some controversy, the statement said.

Given the strong feelings of people who have been offended by the sisters inclusion in our evening, and in an effort not to distract from the great benefits that we have seen over the years of Pride Night, we are deciding to remove them from this years group of honorees, the statement added.

The Doomsday Cult Mother Convicted of Triple Murder "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A jury convicted a 49-year-old mother in Idaho on May 12th for killing her two children and her current husbands late wife in a bizarre triple murder case that has perplexed many in the state since 2019.

Lori Vallow Daybell was found guilty of conspiring to murder her two children, 7-year-old Joshua JJ Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan. Lori Vallow Daybell was also convicted of grand theft, and she will face another trial in Arizona for her involvement in the murder of Charles Vallow, Loris fourth husband, a businessman, and a member of the Latter-Day Saints (LDS) church.

She was also accused of murdering Tammy Daybell, the late wife of her current husband, Chad Daybell. Like Lori Vallow Daybell, Chad, a 54-year-old author and member of the LDS church, is also awaiting trial for the same murder charges. The conviction was handed down following a three-year-long investigation which included claims of doomsday prophecies, which earned Lori the nickname the doomsday mom.

Even though investigations into the crime began in 2019, this surreal murder case had its roots in 2017, when Loris relationship with her children changed. According to her friends, Lori had been reading fiction novels written by Chad Daybell about doomsday stories loosely based on the teachings of the LDS church.

Since meeting Chad in 2018, Lori felt an instant connection with him, and the two even claimed they were married in their previous lives. The two also began doing religious podcasts together.

During this time, Chad was still married to Tammy Daybell, who had five children with him. Lori and Chad sta...

The Godfather Of Artificial Intelligence Regrets And Fears His Own Work "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Its a true Frankenstein moment when the creator of some technology realizes, once again, that it will eventually escape their control and be used by others both good and bad.

Geoffrey Hinton, who is one of artificial intelligences foremost pioneers, is having that moment right now.

He has worked at Google for over a decade and even won a Turing Award, which is one of the most prestigious prizes in computer science.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, though, Hinton (who has now left Google) warned of the dangerous implications of his own innovations.

He also admits to regretting his lifes work altogether.

People Share the Craziest Dreams Theyve Ever Had "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

I dont know whats going on in my brain lately, but Ive been having some super weird and intense dreams.

Dreams that I think about long into the next day and sometimes even longer.

Its pretty creepy!

Whats the craziest dream youve ever had?

Heres what folks had to say about this on AskReddit.

Always the same.

I used to have a recurring dream.

It would start with me being alone in a house in the kitchen. I walked into a big room and closed the door behind me, it was dark. The room was empty, except for one of those wind-up jack-in-the-box things on the other side of the room, and it would start to wind down and play some kind of creepy clown music.

I knew I couldnt just back out of the room, the door was now locked. But, there was a door on the other side by the jack-in-the-box. I also knew I had to get out before it went off. So, I ran for the door on the other side of the room.

I made it before the jack-in-the-box went off. Beyond the door was a hallway. Theres a door that goes to the bathroom, and the hallway continues to wrap around the corner. I know something bad is coming from around the corner, so I hide in the bathroom.

The door is closed, but I still see these child sized mechanical toy things march down the hall and towards the dark room. Once they pass, I know its safe to leave. I go back down the hall, through the dark room which is no longer a danger, I know the door is unlocked now, and I go back to the kitchen.

Then a group of friends comes in from outside, they were done roasting marshmallows over a camp fire, I feel safe again, and the dream ends. This dream always happened exactly the same way, feelings and all.

It was like I kept having it for the first time, only upon...

Just a simple update... Those of us that have AR pistol braces will become felons 31 May 2023 (11 days) is we do not register our firearms. I have not met one individual who will change, destroy or register their pistol brace firearm, not one! Obviously, this is very concerning... I think this is much more serious than we think - meaning - serious impact and issues down the road.

I believe the ATF seriously screwed up by allowing the pistol brace in the first place and they know it....

A Surprising Reason Why You May Need More Carbs in Your Diet "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this interview, Georgi Dinkov and I continue our discussion about diet, diving into some of the finer details that can make or break your health. Dinkov is a student of Ray Peat, who passed away around Thanksgiving 2022, leaving behind a legacy of iconoclastic wisdom on how to optimize biological health.

For example, a ketogenic diet can be very useful initially when transitioning people who are metabolically inflexible, which is about 95% of the population of the United States. So, in the short term, the vast majority of people can benefit from going keto. However, if you continue in ketosis long term, you're going to run into problems.

Elevated Cortisol Leads to Central Obesity

As just one example, while weight loss is a typical response when going on a ketogenic diet, months later, maintaining that weight loss often becomes a struggle again. Dinkov experienced this firsthand. Once he started following Ray Peat's recommendations, he lost the weight again and kept it off.

"My take is it's an endocrine problem," Dinkov says. "So if you're struggling with weight you cannot lose, I think it's a good idea to do a blood work [panel] for the steroids Every single person that has been struggling with excessive weight that has emailed [me] their blood results, without exception, their cortisol is either high-normal or above the range, both the AM and the PM value.

Their thyroid is less than optimal, in fact, pretty bad for most people They're at the upper limit of normal. A very large number of people are basically hypothyroid I think we are eating foods that are lowering our metabolic rate. We're living an excessively stressful lifestyle.

That's probably not a surprise for anybody. Many people think, well, stress is good for you. It's good as a hormetic response in an acute situation, but not when you have chronically elevated cortisol. Every doctor will tell you if you have a chronic elevated cortisol, you will develop the so-called spectrum of Cushing syndrome

One of the defining features of elevated cortisol is that you have central obesity. So that, to me, is really the problem. We have higher than desirable levels of stress, suboptimal diet, and we're surrounded by a number of different endocrine disrupters which are now proven to reliably cause obesity in animal models, even in very small amounts. Most of those are found in plastics."

How High Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Disease

How Linoleic Acid Wrecks Your Health "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Editor's Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published December 13, 2020.

In this interview, Tucker Goodrich and I discuss linoleic acid (LA), which I believe is likely the leading contributing cause of nearly all the chronic diseases we've encountered over the last century. Unfortunately, this is a topic that most clinicians and health care practitioners who focus on natural medicine have only a superficial understanding of.

If you find this topic useful it would also be good to review my newer article and video that took me three months to produce, Linoleic Acid - The Most Destructive Ingredient in Your Diet.

Goodrich has a business background as a stockbroker and asset manager, and developed an IT risk management system used by two of the largest hedge funds in the world. A string of health crises in his late 30s and early 40s prompted him to apply his research and troubleshooting skills to medical research.

As noted by Goodrich, "It was a very upsetting time in my life and medical professionals really weren't any help at all in trying to figure out what caused things." After a lot of reading and researching, he decided to cut out seed oils from his diet, and in just two days, his 16-year-long bout with irritable bowel disease started to dramatically improve.

"I started immediately feeling better," he says. He also lost a significant amount of weight over the next two months.

"Being an engineer by trade, I did a lot of experimenting. What can I eat? What brings back the symptoms? What do I have to avoid to keep the symptoms away? And it was a transformation that made everybody I worked with comment on what a difference they saw in me. It was a very quick change," he says.

Avoiding Linoleic Acid Is Key for Good Health

While considered an essential fat, when consumed in excessive amounts, which over 99% of people do, LA (an omega-6 polyunsaturated fat or PUFA) acts as a metabolic poison.

Most clinicians who value nutritional interventions to optimize health understand that vegetable oils, which are loaded with omega-6 PUFA, are something to be avoided. What most fail to appreciate is that even if you eliminate vegetable oils, you may still be missing the mark.

Chances are you're still getting too much of this dangerous fat from supposedly healthy food sources such as olive oil and chicken (which are fed LA-rich grains).

Another common mistake is to simply increase the amount of omega-3 that you eat. Many are now aware that the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is very important, and should be about equal, but simply increasing omega-3 can be a dan...

How to Save Your Life and Those You Love When Hospitalized "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this interview, Laura Bartlett and Greta Crawford detail how you can protect yourself from one of the top contributors to premature death, namely conventional hospital care. The key here is to understand what the dangers are and take proactive measures to guard yourself and your family from them.

Nearly 10 years ago, I interviewed Dr. Andrew Saul, author of Hospitals and Health: Your Orthomolecular Guide to a Shorter, Safer Hospital Stay, in which he details how to minimize your risk of being a victim of a medical error.

First and foremost, Saul recommended making sure you have a patient advocate, someone who can speak on your behalf if youre incapacitated and make sure youre receiving the correct medication and treatment. During COVID, however, family or friends were not allowed into the hospital, and patients were routinely bullied into treatments they did not want or consent to.

The good news is, Bartlett and Crawford have developed a legal document that, when served to the hospital in the proper way, can ensure that your medical wishes are honored. By eliminating any confusion about your consent (or denial of consent), this document can literally save your life.

Why ProtocolKills.com Was Created

Bartlett and Crawford have founded an organization to address the lethal and, in many cases, forced treatments patients receive when theyre hospitalized for COVID-19, but the same strategy can be used to protect yourself against other medical hazards as well. Crawford explains:

I created a website called ProtocolKills.com. This came after I was in the hospital with COVID. In the process of going to the hospital, I was denied informed consent and was completely unaware of some of the things they were doing to me. I was given five rounds of remdesivir, which nearly took my life, and I did not even know that I was being poisoned at the time ...

During that time in the hospital, I went from thinking I was going to go home after I got oxygen to actually feeling like that I was going to die. I was almost certain I was going to die after being given just the first dose of remdesivir ...

[And then there was] the constant push for the vaccine in the hospital, the harassment for not getting vaxxed, and the fact that I was given medication without my knowledge at all, which led me to start the website to not only inform people about what was going on, but [as] a platform to allow other victims who were not as fortunate as me.

Many of them, the majority of them, did not make it out alive. So, it's a platform for them to share their story...

Zoltan Pozsar, Who Just Left Credit Suisse, Addresses Issues Facing The Federal Reserve And The Dollar At Bitcoin 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Zoltan Pozsar, who until recently worked as the managing director of investment bank Credit Suisse, offered his insight into financial markets and the issues that are weakening the dollars dominance around the world.

In his role at Credit Suisse, Pozsars insight into the ins and outs of the legacy financial system and market dynamics was highly sought after. His recent departure from the bank came shortly after it was purchased by UBS in March as an attempt to keep it from collapsing amid existential turmoil for banks around the world. On stage at Bitcoin 2023, Pozsar addressed how U.S. banks have been impacted.

"This is basically an episode where the large banks are largely insulated from the problems," Pozsar said. "It's basically lessons in not being able to run interest rate risk, not knowing how to make a loan that will be weathering a rising interest rate storm.

He described the Federal Reserves responses to these banking failures as only addressing half the problem.

I think it's more like foaming the runway for any of the large banks that might be having problems down the road, he added.

Pozsar was interviewed on stage by BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes, who pressed him on whether he owns any bitcoin.

I don't own any, Pozsar responded. I'm observing it. I don't like to dabble in things that I don't understand well.

Pozsar outlined his pessimism that bitcoin could ever really serve as money, as his historical research has shown him that money has to have a direct link to a government to endure. As a fundamentally decentralized, peer-to-peer network, Bitcoin could not support money that fits his definition.

The one thing I will say about bitcoin is that money, if you will, is something that is purely public or a public-private partnership, Pozsar explained. When I look at Bitcoin, its a purely-private initiative. Its clearly lacking a state link. But then again, things are evolving, there are a number of countries that have adopted bitcoin as a legal tender, so things are definitely in flux there.

In his writing, Pozsar has underscored the evolving role that Bitcoin is playing around the world as institution-backed money like the U.S. dollar becomes weaker. At Bitcoin 2023, he listed several global market trends, including the rising economic power of China, that are threatening its role as the global rese...
