Cosmos (ATOM) Price Trends Upwards: A Potential Breakout Or Impending Correction? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

<p>After experiencing a bearish trend on April 17, 2023, that dropped the asset to a low <a href= "https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/cosmos-hub/historical_data#panel" rel="nofollow">of $10.12 from $12.88</a>, Cosmos (ATOM) has managed to recover slightly.</p> <p>Between February 8 and May 17, ATOM witnessed a significant decline of 32.89%, reaching a low point of $10.175 on May 9. The current month has, however, brought a surge in demand for Cosmos (ATOM), leading to a remarkable price performance. </p> <h2>Whats Ahead For Cosmos (ATOM)?</h2> <p>According to data, ATOM experienced a substantial price decline, reaching $10.73, a <a href= "https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cosmos/" rel="nofollow">0.95% decrease</a> within the last 24-hour trading period.</p> <p>Related Reading: <a href= "https://www.newsbtc.com/news/will-dogecoin-doge-break-free-from-limbo-market-awaits-bullish-catalyst/?swcfpc=1"> Will Dogecoin (DOGE) Break Free From Limbo? More buyers and sellers are actively participating in trading ATOM. </p> <p>Also, an increase of more than 9% signifies potential price volatility, which might influence the price of ATOM. But the current market sentiment of ATOM is bearish as its <a href= "https://cfgi.io/atom-fear-greed-index/" rel="nofollow">Fear and Greed Index</a> shows 28, fear. </p> <p>This indicates a potential downtrend as investors and traders fear entering the market. This may also lead to high sell pressure from the investors. Based on the Fear & Greed Index reading, the market may likely experience some price correction if the bears maintain this momentum in the coming days.

Cosmos (ATOM) Technical Analysis

The 200-day and 50-day Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) currently exceed the ATOM/USDT trading pair price. This indicates that the market is on a bearish trend in longer and shorter timeframes.

Also, this means that the selling momentum is stronger than the buying. However, if the bulls increase the buying pressure, some price changes might occur in a few days.

The Relative Strength Index shows 44.91, meaning theres market indecision between buyers and sellers. The market in a neutral zone indicates low pressure from buyers and sellers.</p> ...

Beautiful Mural in Belfast Tells a Story of Rebirth "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Beautiful Mural in Belfast Tells a Story of Rebirth

Belfast Mural by Studio Giftig

Dutch duo Studio Giftig made their way to Belfast for the annual Hit the North street art festival and left behind a stunning showcase of their talents. Niels van Swaemen and Kaspar van Leek worked together on a piece that paid homage to the history of the building on which it was painted. Belfast Spring is part of a new series where the pair surround their characteristic portraiture with flying objects as a way to soften the composition and add movement.

In the case of the Belfast mural, the duo was told that they would be painting on the side of an old linen mill. Looking to make a connection with this history, they painted a female figure surrounded by flax flowers, as linen is made from flax. Symbolically, the choice also made sense.

Flax is a flower of rebirth, just as the spring season is also a time of renewal. And Hit the Northnow in its 10th yearhas been a way to renew the city through art.

Created in cool shades of blue and light purple, the mural projects a calm, soothing aura. A soft light appears behind the woman at the center, as she glances off to the side serenely. Her hand clutches her scarf, as she appears ready to throw off the last shackles of winter and embrace the new season.

For Studio Giftig, the opportunity to paint for the community in Belfast, who greeted them warmly, was meaningful. We especially hope that the spectators of the image have a nice break from their daily routine, they say, and perhaps it can evoke a brief moment of wonder to inspire them.

Studio Giftig will be showing off more work done in this new style when their exhibition at Goldshteyn Saatort Gallery in Paris opens on June 8, 2023.

Italian Photographer Travels to Paris to Capture Perfect Full Moon Inside Arc de Triomphe "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Italian Photographer Travels to Paris to Capture Perfect Full Moon Inside Arc de Triomphe

Moon Centered in Arc de Triomphe by Stefano Zanarello

Photographer Stefano Zanarello has been practicing his craft for over 15 years from his home base in the Italian Alps. While his passion for photography began with wildlife, he's slowly spread his creative wings. And recently, he decided to make a journey to capture a photo he'd been working on for months. This required him to fly to Paris, and in the end he was able to get the shot he was afterthe Moon centered under the arch of Arc de Triomphe.

We've seen this composition before, but it never gets old. Zanarello, who spent months planning the image, gets the full Moon almost perfectly centered in the upper portion of the iconic monument. Full and clear, not even the headlights of oncoming traffic can detract from the Moon's beauty.  Using the PhotoPills app, Zanarello was able to not only determine the date that would work best for the photo, but also the exact position he needed to be in for the symmetry to work.

When all was said and done, Zanarello was not only pleased but also relieved. In this kind of photo, the window of opportunity, with the Moon in the correct position, is very shorta few of secondsbecause with the magnification given by the long focal length, the Moon moves quickly in the sky, he tells My Modern Met. So, before this photo, I was always feeling tense and nervous. I knew that if something went wrong, there wouldn't be a second chance.

Luckily, everything went to plan, and Zanarello's trip was a success. The photo has received nearly 3,000 likes on Instagram, bringing more eyes to the photographer's feed. Filled with images of northern Italian cities and mountainous landscapes, it's well worth a scroll once y...

Billions Of Dollars Tokenized Bitcoin Moved To Ethereum, BSC, And Solana "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

More than 70% of all tokenized Bitcoin, worth over $4.3 billion, have been transferred to Ethereum, according to data from Cryptoflows.

This migration highlights a growing trend of utilizing Bitcoin within Ethereums decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem and other interesting areas.

Billions Of Bitcoin Being Tokenized

Out of the $5.75 billion worth of BTC exported from Bitcoin, over $1.44 billion found its way to the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) with more BTC tokens flowing to Avalanche, Fantom, and Solana.

Just like Ethereum, BSC, Avalanche, and other ecosystems where tokenized BTC found its way to, support smart contracting. Therein, holders can engage in DeFi, possibly earning income.

Bitcoin doesnt support smart contracts; explaining why some holders are tokenizing their assets. Still, while there appears to be growing demand for DeFi, reading from this outflow of BTC to smart contracting platforms, total value locked (TVL) and decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes have been low and even stagnant.

Data from DefiLlama.com, a DeFi analytics platform, shows that TVL is flat and below $50 billion.

Meanwhile, DEX trading volumes have been relatively low in recent months. This phase of decreased activity could suggest a temporary slowdown in decentralized trading, mirroring the general trend of crypto prices in recent months.

With less than $2 billion of registered DEX trading volumes on May 17, there has been a notable slump in activity over the last months, especially from early 2022.

In November 2021, at the peak of the last bull cycle, DEX trading volumes, on average, stood at over $7 billion.

BTC Prices Suppressed But Coin Is A Safe Haven

While users port their BTC to smart contracting platforms, Bitcoin prices remain under pressure partly due to regulatory decisions across the world, mainly in the United States and Europe.

Decentraland (MANA) Leads Crypto Market Gains, Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Decentraland (MANA) is currently ahead of the rest of the crypto market after seeing almost double-digit gains in the last day. Rumors Of Apple Metaverse Circulate

The rumors about Apples very own metaverse first started circulating on Monday when a Twitter user made a post about it. In the tweet, Idi Wertheimer pointed to the fact that tech giant Apple was allegedly launching its own mixed-reality headset. As a result, Wertheimer believes that metaverse coins are going to start pumping based on this news.

Rumors about Apple working on its own metaverse didnt just start now as it has since been speculated that the company would build one to compete with Metas (formerly Facebook) Oculus series. However, Apple has never confirmed nor denied if it was working on its own metaverse.

Research on our end turned up an article from a website called Toms Guide which points toward the tech giants plans to enter the virtual and augmented reality space. But instead of the anticipated Apple Glasses, the article refers to an entirely new device which is rumored to be called Reality Pro.

While Apple fans have waited long for a launch of VR/AR devices, venturing into the sector hasnt been backed internally from all indications. Previously, executives reportedly vetoed the design team which believed that the device is not yet ready for launch. But it remains to be seen if the company will follow through and launch the device

BabyDoge Gets Aggressive With Zero Implementation Fees, Set For Major Growth "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BabyDoge, like other meme tokens, started off as a fun project with a loyal following, but it has evolved into a force to be reckoned with in the crypto space. With a strong community that is passionate about the project, BabyDoge has continued to push the boundaries of what is possible with meme tokens.

The launch of the Zero Percent transaction fee feature on Ethereum is just one example of the innovative thinking that sets this meme coin apart.

The new feature is a game changer for BabyDoge users as it significantly reduces the cost of transactions on the Ethereum network. This means that users can now send and receive these tokens without worrying about paying high fees to miners.

The feature is also expected to attract more users to the BabyDoge community, which could drive up the value of the token in the long run.

BabyDoge Community Focuses On 0% Transaction Fee Proposal

The BabyDoge community is currently engaged in discussions surrounding the proposal to introduce a 0% transaction fee feature on the Ethereum network. Typically, transactions involving meme coins like BabyDoge occur periodically, with most investors waiting for a specific hype factor to make their move.

However, when large transactions take place on Ethereum, congestion can drive gas fees up to levels that hurt the pockets of many retail investors.

As of writing, BABYDOGE on CoinGecko shows a value of $0.000000002098, with a 3.3% decline in the past 24 hours and no movement over the past seven days. In light of market fluctuations, the proposed 0% transaction fee feature will be a crucial development in making transactions accessible to everyone.

Bitcoin Loses Grip On $27,000 Handle Amid Debt Ceiling Concerns Details "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The latest slide of Bitcoin below the $27,000 level has caught the attention of investors who are now keeping a close eye on the debt ceiling negotiations in Washington.

With US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen issuing warnings that the US is projected to breach the debt limit as early as June 1, the stakes have been raised significantly for both the financial markets and the cryptocurrency industry.

However, while the threat of a default looms large, investors are suggesting that Bitcoin may be poised for a potential rebound if a resolution to the debt ceiling issue is reached.

Bitcoin Continues To Slide Amid Low Liquidity Concerns

Bitcoins struggle to maintain its value has continued, with the cryptocurrency experiencing a 24-hour loss of nearly a percent, currently trading at $26,863 on CoinGecko. Furthermore, its seven-day decline of 2.7% reflects a persistent bearish trend in the market that has many investors concerned.

One factor that has contributed to the low liquidity in crypto markets is regulatory uncertainty. Market makers Jane Street and Jump Crypto have recently retreated from crypto trading in the US, citing concerns over regulatory challenges. This has added to the already existing concerns surrounding the lack of regulation in the crypto industry, which has made investors wary of entering the market.

According to a report by crypto data firm Kaiko, Bitcoins 1% market depth a measure of liquidity conditions has dropped by 4% over the past month, while Ethereums has fallen by 2%. Altcoin liquidity has suffered even more, with a roughly 17% decline on a monthly basis.

This low liquidity has made it difficult for traders to execute large orders without experiencing significant price slippage, further contributing to the bearish trend in the m...

The Proper Object of Prayer "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Juvenal, Satires X.346-362

Note: Sardanapalus was a legendary king of Assyria, used among Greeks and Romans as a byword for luxury and extravagance.

Will people then wish for nothing? If you want my advice,
Youll let the gods themselves weigh out what befits us,
Whats useful for our affairs; for in lieu of whats pleasing,
The gods give whatevers most apt. Humanitys more dear
To them than to itself: we, driven by the impulse
Of our minds, by blind and overwhelming desire,
Seek out brides and offspring; but they take note of what
Children well have, of what sort our wives will be.
But so that you may ask something, that you may vow
The innards and holy sausages of a little white pig in shrines,
One ought to pray for a sound mind in a sound body.
Ask for a brave spirit, one lacking fear of death,
That reckons span of life last among natures gifts,
That can bear whatever labors you like, doesnt know how
To get angry, desires nothing, and believes that Hercules woes,
His savage labors, are greater than the love-affairs
And banquets and feathery cushions of Sardanapalus.

nil ergo optabunt homines? si consilium uis,
permittes ipsis expendere numinibus quid
conueniat nobis rebusque sit utile nostris;
nam pro iucundis aptissima quaeque dabunt di.
carior est illis homo quam sibi. nos animorum
inpulsu et caeca magnaque cupidine ducti
coniugium petimus partumque uxoris, at illis
notum qui pueri qualisque futura sit uxor.

Shiba Inu Faces Tough Resistance, Risk Of Uncharted Lows Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been experiencing a tumultuous journey in the crypto market since its inception in August 2020. However, the past few weeks have been particularly eventful for SHIB holders, as the coin has been struggling to break past a crucial resistance level, known as the Death Line.

This foreboding term was coined by SHIB enthusiasts to refer to the critical resistance level at $0.000008. The level has been a significant hurdle for the meme coin to cross since early May, and it has made several attempts to break past it, only to face rejection each time.

This resistance level has caused considerable anxiety among SHIB holders and traders, who are now closely monitoring the coins movements to see if it can finally overcome the dreaded line and push towards a new all-time high.

Shiba Inu Faces Market Pressure Amid Death Line Fears

Shiba Inu has been grappling with market pressure in recent weeks, with its CoinGecko price hovering at a meager $0.00000878 and experiencing a stagnant 24-hour change of 0.8%. Over the past seven days, SHIB has seen a 1.9% decrease in value, struggling to break free from the grips of the recent slump.

The SHIB token faces significant challenges, with the existence of the Death Line looming ominously over its future. The term refers to a crucial resistance level at $0.000008, which the token has been unable to breach despite repeated attempts. The failure to overcome this barrier could potentially cause the tokens price to plummet to $0.000007, marking a severe setback for SHIB and its holders.

Bitcoin price started a minor downside correction after it failed to clear the $27,700 and $27,800 resistance levels. BTC formed a high near $27,677 before it corrected lower.

There was a move below the $27,400 level. The price declined below the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $25,828 swing low to the $27,677 high. The price tested a major support near the $26,800 level and the 100 hourly Simple moving average.

Bitcoin price is now trading above $26,600 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average. There was a break above a key bearish trend line with resistance near $27,000 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair. Immediate resistance is now forming near the $27,250 level. The next major resistance is near the $27,550 level.

Coinbase And Ripple Playing Game Of Poker With The SEC, CNBC Correspondent Says "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Amid deep regulatory uncertainty in the United States, several cryptocurrency firms consider sailing to more welcoming atmospheres. Top US-based firms Ripple and Coinbase, whove been cross-chairs with the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC), have already hinted at possible relocation. Reacting to the issues, two CNBC correspondents, Ryan Browne, and Arjun Kharpal, weighed in.

According to the journalists, crypto companies like Ripple and Coinbase are playing a poker game with the SEC.

Crypto Firms Threaten Relocation To Ease Regulatory Pressure

The regulatory atmosphere in the US crypto space has become supercharged over the past few months as the SEC accelerated their crackdown moves against crypto companies. The SEC turned its attention to Coinbase, Binance, Bittrex, and Kraken amid long-running litigation with Ripple.

These firms arent comfortable with the increased enforcement threats from the regulators as they complain the SEC has taken the regulation-by-enforcement approach without providing any clear guidelines for them.

Coinbase and Ripple even threatened to relocate their business outside the US, hoping regulators would reconsider their hawkish stance.

The CNBC correspondents further noted that Ripple executives joined forces to publicly criticize the SEC and gain support from the broader crypto community.

Prioritizing Politics Over Policy Is Unfavourable for the Economy, Ripple CEO Says

In their report, Browne and Kharpal quoted Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who, as a US citizen, expressed his disappointment with the situation.

In a statement, Garlinghouse said, The US is getting passed not just by a little bit but by a lot.

Garlinghouse claims more challenging is the fact that the US considers politics over policy, an unfavorable decision for investors. On most occasions, the SEC repeatedly argued that nearly all crypto tokens in the market constitute securities.

That was why the regulator sued Ripple in December 2020, accusing the firm of offering XRP as an unregistered security. However, Ripple has continued to contest this issue in court with the SEC, hoping to get a favorable ruling soon.

Heres The Best Time To Invest In Pepe, Former Dogecoin Millionaire Says "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepe coin is one of the trending meme coins that emerged recently in the crypto space. Though the token has retracted in value, a former Dogecoin millionaire offers some insights on PEPE.

Glauber Contessoto, aka Dogecoin millionaire, took to Twitter to lay out a suitable period to invest in the meme coin.

Dogecoin Millionaire Recommends The Best Time For PEPE Investment

According to the crypto strategist, enthusiasts should wait till the meme token drop by 80% to 90% from its all-time high (ATH) of $0.00000431. Then, that will be the right time to invest in PEPE again.

Contesssotos tweet has attracted much criticism, as many users stated that the PEPE pump is over. Some users called his suggestion unintelligent, while others advised him to return to DOGE. A particular user asked DOGE Millionaire why he didnt take the same investment approach for Floki Inu. In response, he said he wasnt liquid then or would have bought 1 billion Floki Inu coins.

Contesssoto emerged in the spotlight due to coverage from top media outlets such as CNBC for his investment insights.  He gained more popularity at the beginning of 2021. Many publications related Contessotos investment progress, citing how he threw his life savings into Dogecoin investment.

His investments saw him emerge as one of the DOGE millionaires, increasing his popularity for being bold and helping with relevant crypto strategies.

However, he has lost a substantial part of his net worth as he refused to sell and the largest meme coin by market cap, DOGE, has declined by almost 90% from its ATH in 2021, according to CoinMarketCap.

The Journey So Far

Pepe Coin is a meme coin developed on the Ethereum blockchain with a link to the internet meme Pepe the Frog. Following its launch, PEPE rapidly gained popularity as the token led to the explosion of meme coins recently.

Behold the International Ink Library Created by the U.S. Secret Service: Features A Collection of 12,000 Ink Samples "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Late though it may be in the age of print, we still envision ransom or other threatening notes in the same way we have for generations, with their demands incongruously spelled out with individual letters, each one a different size and font, taken from the pages of newspapers and magazines. This classic cut-and-paste method of ransom note construction presumably emerged as means of evading minds like that of Trista Ginsberg, a document analyst specializing in handwriting at the Secret Service. She appears in the Great Big Story above, which comes to focus on one facility at the Services headquarters in particular: the International Ink Library.

The Secret Service has the largest ink library in the world, says the videos narrator. Its more than 12,000 samples of different inks include pens, bottled ink, and printer cartridges. These come in handy when, say, someone writes a threatening letter to the president.

Men Admit What Theyll Never Understand About Women "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Guys, its time to get real.

And its time for you to admit that there are a whole lot of things you dont understand about women.

At all.

On any level.

And thats okay! Because this is a safe place

Lets hear what men on AskReddit had to say about this.

WTF?

What the f**k is a decorative towel?

If you dont want me to dry my hands with them, dont hang 6 decorative towels in the kitchen and hide all the real towels under the sink.

Lets just eat something!

1) When my wife asks me what I want to eat, and no matter what I reply, she doesnt like it and complains Im not helpful.

2) Or if I ask what she wants to eat, and her reply is, I dont know, what do you feel like? and I get the same result as situation 1.

Its like my wife is eternally confused on what she wants to eat

How does that work?

How is it that your public restrooms are always dirtier than mens?

I work at a cafe and have to clean, but theres always seat covers and paper towels all over the floor, and p**s in the sink.

Im not complaining too much, its my job and all. But just how?

Whats the deal?

This just happened yesterday.

I saw a girl Ive been friends with for a while on campus for the first time in like 5 months.

We talked for a bit and she said we should get together sometime. I said sure and asked about Friday, shes busy then and had to go so she told me to text her.

Restrict AI Illustration from Publishing: An Open Letter

Since the earliest days of print journalism, illustration has been used to elucidate and add perspective to stories. Even with the advent of photography in the 19th century, hand-drawn illustrations continued to have their place, both as a synthesis of the artists vision and the writers meaning. The illustrators art still speaks to something not just intimately connected to the news, but intrinsically human about story itself.

With the advent of generative-image AI technology, that unique interpretive and narrative confluence of art and text, of human writer and human illustrator, is at risk of extinction.

Based on text prompts, these generative tools can churn out polished, detailed simulacra of what previously would have been illustrations drawn by the human hand. They do so for a few pennies or for free, and they are faster than any human can ever be. Because no human illustrator can work quickly enough or cheaply enough to compete with these robot replacements, we know that if this technology is left unchecked, it will radically reshape the field of journalism. The result will be that only a tiny elite of artists can remain in business, their work selling as a kind of luxury status symbol.

AI-art generators are trained on enormous data...

What Did Your Parents Teach You That You Later Realize Was Messed Up? People Responded. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Well, this is gonna be fun!

Because we all know that there arent too many things that get people as riled up as the things their parents did WRONG while they were growing up.

And these AskReddit users focused on the things their parents taught them that they later realized were pretty weird.

Lets take a look.

You must be perfect!

My dad instilled crippling perfectionism in me, which I realized was insane when I got older and people told me to just do my best.

When I was in grade school, I would come to my dad with As all super excited. But, if it was anything less than a 100%, he would ask for the missing percentage.

So, when I had a 98%, hed say well wheres the 2%? And now, if I do anything less than perfect, I beat myself up.

Gross.

I always had anxiety as a child and my mother said the only way to get over it is to deal with the situation head on.

Sounds great until I told her my fear of escalators and she pushed me down and I fell and almost got my hair caught.

Another thing she loved to teach me is how self defense is necessary. Great! Where do I take lessons?

There were no lessons. She said being with my a**sive ex was enough of a lesson. I should have learned then.

Bad parenting.

You have better balance, so you, at 10-years-old, should climb up on the roof and clean the gutters and sweep the chimney.

Also, climb up to the top of the flagpole at the REC and fix the rope stuck in the pulley. And install new gutters, but I was 13 by then.

What We Look for When We Are Looking: John Steinbeck on Wonder and the Relational Nature of the Universe "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Searching for that principle which keys us deeply into the pattern of all life.

What We Look for When We Are Looking: John Steinbeck on Wonder and the Relational Nature of the Universe

Genius is nothing more nor less than childhood recovered at will, Baudelaire wrote something Newton embodied in looking back on his life of revolutionary discoveries, only to see himself appearing like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me. What we are really recovering from childhood in those moments of discovery and exaltation is a way of looking at the world looking for a glimpse of some small truth that illuminates the interconnectedness of all things, looking and being wonder-smitten by what we see.

That is what John Steinbeck (February 27, 1902December 20, 1968) explores in some lovely passages from The Log from the Sea of Cortez (public library) his forgotten masterpiece that turns the record of an ordinary marine biology expedition in the Gulf of California into an extraordinary lens on how to think.

Poetry in the Expanded Field "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

SAN FRANCISCO I first learned about Jen Bervin when I read Nets (Ugly Duckling, 2003). In that book, Bervin took 60 of William Shakespeares sonnets and erased them until the words that were left (exactly where they are in the original) became her poem. In contrast to earlier poets, such as Ronald Johnson and Jonathan Williams, who erased preexisting texts, Bervin did not completely efface her source. Shakespeares poems are still discernible in light blue text, while Bervins are in black; readers can literally see the dialogue between the two poems. By leaving the source visible, she recognized that some of her poems would suffer by comparison. This is the opposite of appropriation, a common postmodern practice. Writing about this work in the afterword to Nets, she stated: When we write poems, the history of poetry is with us, pre-inscribed in the white of the page.

The second book I read was Silk Poems (Nightboat Books, 2017). The poem was printed like a scroll of cloth unfurling across the page; each line of the typed text (all caps) was comprised of six letters, corresponding to the silkworms DNA. While I knew that a physical manifestation of this poem existed, and that Bervin worked in oth...

An AI Avatar Generator That Pays Artists Their Cut "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Is there such a thing as socially responsible generative AI? According to Mitch Randall, CEO of Ascendant Art, there could be. Or at least, there should be.

The company recently launched a new avatar generator app that pays artists royalties for using their work, unlike many similar programs.

In a time when generative AI programs like Stable Diffusion and Midjourney have been heavily criticized for lack of artist compensation and even what some see as plagiarism, Ascendant AI hopes to change the narrative surrounding this new technology by bridging the gap between the art world and tech, proposing an alternative where AI is not a competitor but an asset to artists.

If youre going to train your AI on artists work, then when you make money off what youve done, those artists should get reimbursed, Randall told Hyperallergic. Capitalism is not putting this forward as an idea when its actually the most obvious idea.

Currently, users can purchase 100 avatars from Ascendant for $11.99. These lifelike graphics take less than half an hour to make and are developed using facial recognition technology combined with generative AI.

A quarter of net profits from sales goes to the artists whose work was used to train the AI, according to Ascendants website. These profits are then distributed based o...

TikTok Goes Surrealist With Exquisite Corpse Videos "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Who remembers playing Exquisite Corpse as an icebreaker during arts and crafts at summer camp or on the first day of grade school? You may not remember it by name, but its the group sequence drawing game where you draw a portion of a body (the head, the torso, or the legs) on one section of a tri-folded piece of paper, fold it behind the following empty section, and pass it to your neighbor who completes the next part of the body without seeing what youve drawn while you do the same. Everyone usually erupts with laughter after unfolding their collaborative drawings at the end, embracing the incongruity of mismatched body parts that yield nonsensical characters. Exquisite Corpse was popularized in early 20th-century France when poet Andr Breton and the other early players in the Surrealist movement began playing the game during recreational parties.

While Exquisite Corpse remains a classroom and an art history favorite, TikTokers have virtually translated the game into video format with impressive success. It all started in 2020 when a Canadian TikToker named Fran Johnson (@johnson_fran)...

Amazing GigaMoon Made of 280,000 Photos Captures Detailed Surface of the Moon

Gigamoon by Andrew McCarthy

Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy is always looking to further his craft and wow us with his capabilities. Known for creating highly detailed images of the cosmos, his newest photograph is a masterful look at the Moon. Made from 280,000 photos, the 1.3 gigapixel image is aptly titled GigaMoon.

It's a photograph that McCarthy has been chasing for quite some time. Previous attempts had gone awry due to the weather conditions and McCarthy says that his hard drive is filled with images taken during failed attempts. Luckily, on April 29, everything aligned, and he was able to complete his vision.

Photographing the Moon in this much detail is arduous because of the atmospheric conditions. Changes in temperates in the different layers of the atmosphere can cause warping and make the Moon appear blurry. Even in the best conditions, McCarthy likens it to capturing through water with how much the atmosphere distorts each image.

To cut down on that distortion, he takes 2,000 photographs at a time and slowly makes his way across the entire Moon until he's imaged the entire thing. In the case of GigaMoon, he actually photographed the Moon twice in order to ensure that every part of the celestial body was captured perfectly.

Since his initial images were taken in black and white, McCarthy then went back to capture all the color data he'd need to add to the finished product. He did this using a Newtonian telescope equipped with a full-frame CMOS camera. After all was said and done, it was then time for post-production.

This entails stacking the images and then stitching them together by hand in Photoshop. After several days of tweaking the alignment and coloration, GigaMoon was ready to be revealed. To really get into the...

Chinese Village for Both the Elderly and Children "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

Xialapu Village is responding to the Chinese national poverty alleviation and relocation policy. The pattern of the new village has changed from random growth to a deliberately planned fan-shaped belt layout. The local government wanted to build an amalgamated dwelling to improve and solve the housing needs of the lonely elderly people in the village. It can also rent spare rooms to the families of left-behind children who have a long way to go to school, so as to make it more convenient for them to go to and from school.

According to the local government, the construction cost of this conglomerate must be low, and it must have 22 living rooms.  They designed an earthen house using local materials and contining the traditional architectural style.

In order to meet the need for 22 rooms, they adopted the inner corridor layout, because this is the most efficient way. The most appropriate strategy is to design a two-story building with 11 residential rooms on each floor.

The villagers living in the house are the core of the design, hoping to inspire the them to use the room for multiple purposes and enrich their living experience. A big tree is planted at the village entrance. Men, women, and children sit around the big tree and talk. This bears on the spiritual life of several generations of villagers.

Bitmains Upcoming Antminer KS3 ASIC for Kaspa (KAS) is Crazy Fast "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitmains upcoming Antminer KS3 ASIC miner for Kaspa (KAS) has been announced and it boasts some crazy specs for sure, especially compared to what is already available on the market. The hashrate of the KS3 ASIC miner is supposedly 8.3 TH/s with a 3188 Watts of power usage, meaning a 0.38 J/GHs power efficiency. As a comparison a single RTX 3070 GPU optimized does something like 600 MH/s at 90 Watts of power used, so a single KS3 ASIC miner is equal to around 14000 Nvidia RTX 3070 GPUs in terms of hashrate and is going to be way more power efficient. With the current total network hashrate of Kaspa (KAS) at around 1.16 PH/s at this very moment, doubling it with the Antminer KS3 ASIC miners would only take just like 140 devices and Bitmain should be producing way more than that for sure

There is no official price announced yet and Bitmain is running a competition for users to guess the price, but you can expect it to be in the tens of thousands for sure. Bitmain plans to start shipping the KS3 miners in August, meaning that you can expect a huge spike in difficulty around that time as the new machines start going online. There will be a couple of reductions of the block reward of KAS by that time and with the massive spike in the hashrate the crazy high profitability of over $2500 USD per day at the moment for the KS3 should be much lower by the time you can actually get your hands on a miner. Bitmain of course wants to take your money now for the KS3.

So, FPGA mining and GPU mining for KAS will start to fade out with ASIC miners hitting the network as it will become unprofitable for sure, even with the price increasing it will still be unreasonable to think that youd be able to compete with significantly faster and much more power efficient in terms of hashrate ASIC miners. You still have a little more time left to mine though, so do not be quick to switch to another coin just yet. Or use the opportunity to stack up on some KAS coins while the price is low.

Through Trompe Loeil Bronze, Prune Nuorry Fuses Human Anatomy and Arboreal Roots "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A figurative sculpture that appears like roots or veins stands in a gallery

At the end of Jean-Baptiste Lullys baroque opera Atys, the titular character is transformed into a tree. This metamorphosis, the result of a spell cast by an agitated goddess, secures Atys Earth-bound fate, melding human and plant life into a single body.

French artist Prune Nuorry draws on this mythological allegory in a series that visualizes the hybrid form. Standing several feet tall to be lifelike or larger, a trio of bronze figures emerges through intricate networks mimicking both veins and branches, fractal shapes that we can find in different scales in nature, the artist says. Each sculpture references the forms roots in operatic performance, and Nuorry painted the smooth metal in a trompe loeil style so that the works appear as if made of rope, used frequently in stage rigging. This illusory material also alludes to the connection between the infinitely large and infinitely small, a concept often described in the framework of string theory.

Nuorry, who lives and works between New York and Paris, has long been interested in the body and the way it interacts with the environment. She recently completed a massive public work featuring a pregnant mother embedded in the land, and earlier projects include a...

Living for 97 years is an impressive achievement in and of itself. Most people hitting this milestone are probably thankful for what health they have and the memories they've made. In the case of legendary TV host and conservationist Sir David Attenborough, he can reflect on a life of activism in service for our planet. The British icon recently turned an impressive 97 on May 8, 2023. Born in 1926, Attenborough has spent most of his life on camera for the BBC covering animals and natural history. Today, despite his age, he is still an active campaigner for our planet.

Attenborough, who received a degree in natural sciences from Cambridge University, joined the BBC full-time in 1952. He traveled around the world with his Zoo Quest program, highlighting different creatures. After a sojourn in BBC administration, he created his iconic series Life on Earth in 1979. Since then, he has created and starred in countless programs which have brought nature closer to viewers around the world.

His recent documentary with World Wildlife Fund, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet, often returns to a theme which has predominated in Attenborough's later work. He reflects on just how much the environment has changed in his decades of observation and the swiftly ticking clock to prevent further catastrophic destruction. This program was widely streamed and dubbed a ...

Primrose for X "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

London buses moving. Licensed under CCO 2.0, courtesy of Wikimedia Commons

William Blake once wrote to a friend that he conversed with the Spiritual Sun on Primrose Hill. Today his words saying as much are carved on the stone curb atop the grassy knoll where the Druid Order has gathered for the Autumn Equinox since the poets times, and today still do. For the Druids, the primrose wards off evil and holds the keys to heaven (in German the cowslip primrose is appropriately called Himmelschlsselchen). For herbalists it is a sedative, pain reliever, and salve. It keeps depression at bay. The primrose is the flower of youth, love, lust and sweetness, rebirth and poetry. Eating one can manifest fairies. In Albion it is among the first blooms of spring. The rathe Primrose is the opening flower Milton notes to strew upon the laureate hearse of Lycidas.

Primrose for X opens with Fanny Howe tracking Blake on Primrose Hill and twelve quatrains later ends with her on a high-speed train that raced away from London / and Blakes theophanies. What she finds in the lyric interim are no golden pillars of Jerusalem or celebrity sets. No St. Pauls Cathedral, Shard, or Wharf highlight the skyline as they do for visitors in relief on the metal panoramic sign at 66.7 meters high. Here the unsteady skyline is like a graph that measures / markets, snails and heartbeatsone of many instances in Fanny Howes poetry of her in-dwelling similization of the world around us, as if these comparative truths always existed as air to breathe. Meanings break free with snails and shucked at the end of the line that contrasts the brain with the slippery heart that also slips across the stanza. And how the vital heart monitor beats with the little lines cadence How am I still here / at every thump?the question posed to herself or Thou of her own lifes longevity an...

Supple Patterns Illuminate Bold Volumes in Oliver Chalks Sophisticated Wooden Vessels "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A carved wooden vessel.

Detail of a vessel from the Pathways series. All images Oliver Chalk, shared with permission

Hewn from solid hunks of found timber, Oliver Chalks vessels (previously) embrace the natural grain and gradients of different types of wood to reveal voluminous functional sculptures. Using remnants of fallen trees like ash, cypress, maple, and cherry, Chalk hand-carves bold ribs and lines redolent of contours on topographic maps. He takes cues from the distinctive characteristics of each piece of wood, responding to the specimens unique texture, hardness, hue, and innate patterns. Maple burl, for example, which is a growth in the trees bark that creates dense, swirling, eye-like motifs, led to an elegant piece peppered with small holes and knots.

Chalks work is included in the group exhibition Earth Materials at Gallery 57 in Arundel, West Sussex, through June 10 and Spring Collection 23 at The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden in Ockley, Surrey. Fi...

AI makes non-invasive mind-reading possible by turning thoughts into text "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

An AI-based decoder that can translate brain activity into a continuous stream of text has been developed, in a breakthrough that allows a person's thoughts to be read non-invasively for the first time. The decoder could reconstruct speech with uncanny accuracy while people listened to a story or even silently imagined one using only fMRI scan data. Previous language decoding systems have required surgical implants. Large language models the kind of AI underpinning OpenAI's ChatGPT ... are able to represent, in numbers, the semantic meaning of speech, allowing the scientists to look at which patterns of neuronal activity corresponded to strings of words with a particular meaning rather than attempting to read out activity word by word. The decoder was personalised and when the model was tested on another person the readout was unintelligible. It was also possible for participants on whom the decoder had been trained to thwart the system, for example by thinking of animals or quietly imagining another story. Jerry Tang, a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin and a co-author, said: "We take very seriously the concerns that it could be used for bad purposes and have worked to avoid that. We want to make sure people only use these types of technologies when they want to and that it helps them." Prof Tim Behrens, a computational neuroscientist ... said it opened up a host of experimental possibilities, including reading thoughts from someone dreaming.

Note: This technology has advanced considerably since Jose Delgado first stopped a charging bull using radio waves in 1965. For more along these lines, see concise summaries of deeply revealing news articles on mind control and the disappearance of privacy from reliable major media sources.

How "media literacy" became the new "fake news": A meaningless corporate buzzword "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Tessa Jolls, president of the Center for Media Literacy, published a report last month entitled "Building Resiliency: Media Literacy as a Strategic Defense Strategy for the Transatlantic." It reads like a blueprint for indoctrinating students in corporatism and militarism under the auspices of media literacy education. The standard definition of media literacy used in American education is "the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create and act using all forms of communication." In response to the post-2016 panic over fake news, there was a demand for more media literacy education in schools. This provided a window of opportunity for major media companies  which had long sought to enter the classroom to advertise their products and collect student data to move rapidly toward indoctrinate students with corporate propaganda under the "media literacy" umbrella. The same military and intelligence communities now calling for "media literacy" have been producing and spreading fake news, at home and abroad, for at least 70 years. Jolla' report ignores that members of the same military and intelligence communities that she lauds have produced and spread fake news to U.S. citizens, from the time of Operation Mockingbird in the mid-20th century up through the present on various social media platforms. She also never discusses public efforts to disempower the military-industrial complex's ability to dictate truth. Real media literacy education empowers students to ... ask their own questions.

Army Info War Division Wants Social Media Surveillance to Protect 'NATO Brand' "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The U.S. Army Cyber Command told defense contractors it planned to surveil global social media use to defend the "NATO brand," according to a 2022 webinar recording reviewed by The Intercept. "NATO is one of our key brands that we are pushing, as far as our national security alliance," [Lt. Col. David Beskow] explained. The mass social media surveillance appears to be just one component of a broader initiative to use private-sector data mining to advance the Army's information warfare efforts. Beskow expressed an interest in purchasing access to nonpublic commercial web data, corporate ownership records, supply chain data, and more. While the U.S. national security establishment frequently warns against other countries' "weaponization" of social media and the broader internet, recent reporting has shown the Pentagon engages in some of the very same conduct. Researchers from Graphika and the Stanford Internet Observatory uncovered a network of pro-U.S. Twitter and Facebook accounts covertly operated by U.S. Central Command, an embarrassing revelation that led to a "sweeping audit of how it conducts clandestine information warfare." Despite years of alarm in Washington over the threat posed by deepfake video fabrications to democratic societies, The Intercept reported last month that U.S. Special Operations Command is seeking vendors to help them make their own deepfakes to deceive foreign internet users.

Japan Loses 30% Of Total Crypto Hacks In North Korea, Elliptic Reports "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Japan has emerged with the highest losses worldwide from North Korean cyberattacks targeting crypto exchanges, as recent reports indicate that Japans financial institutions and individuals incurred approximately 30% of the total losses attributed to North Korean crypto hacking.

The Japanese government has been particularly vocal about the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures to combat these malicious activities. But despite ongoing efforts to bolster their defenses, Japanese exchanges have been a primary target, suffering substantial financial losses and tarnishing the countrys reputation as a secure hub for digital assets.

Japans 30% Crypto Losses

The Elliptic report from a leading blockchain analytics firm, Nikkei, reveals that Japan suffered a staggering $721 million in losses, accounting for about 30% of the total amount hacked globally.

The numbers were culled from hacks that occurred between 2017 and 2022, reaching a total amount of $2.3 billion. Notably, in 2022 alone, the digital asset ecosystem lost an estimated $640 million worth of cryptocurrency.

A Reuters report from the United Nations revealed that digital currency theft exploits in North Korea hit a new high in 2022. The report also showed that the second most-attacked nation was Vietnam, losing approximately $540 million within the same period.

The United States was the third nation on the list, and Hong Kong came out in fourth place, with $497 million and $281 million losses, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Elliptic findings shed light on the vulnerability of the Japanese cryptocurrency market, including that of the Vietnamese.

It noted that both markets have lax security measures, making it an attractive target for hackers seeking to exploit weaknesses and gain illicit access to digital assets.

The significant losses incurred by Japan reflect the growing threat posed by North Korean hacking groups, which have increasingly targeted cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms worldwide.

After a disastrous week, the digital currency market , including the top 5 cryptos, is ready for a recovery. According to CoinGecko, the crypto markets total market cap increased by nearly 2% in the past 24 hours.

Although the broader financial market is still closely monitoring the US debt ceiling crisis, Bitcoin and Ethereums recent localized rallies, along with the strong performances of the top 5 cryptos, pulled the market upward.

Top 5 Cryptos Expected To Pad Investors Portfolio With Gains

KAVA

Although last week was painful for investors, KAVA saw gains in both TVL and price. According to DefiLlama, the Kava ecosystems TVL grew by over 3% in the past 24 hours with steady gains since last week. KAVA itself is experiencing bullish pressure, with the token up more than 43% in the past seven days.

The tokens current momentum seemed to be slowing down, showing signs that KAVA may face losses in the short term. However, a rebound from $0.782 will open the path to $1.46 as investors gain confidence along with the general market rebound.

LDO

After implementing Lido V2 in February, Lido has exempted itself from the general market downturn in the past few weeks. According to CoinGecko, the price of LDO rose by nearly 23% since last week. This shows investors strength along with a strong strategic partnership to ensure Lidos dominance in the DeFi industry.

Heres how the growth in PEPE has so far compared with that of its predecessor meme coins: Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE).

PEPEs Peak Trading Volume Hasnt Been Near DOGE Or SHIBs Yet

Pepe Coin, a token based on the popular internet frog meme avatar, suddenly burst into the scene last month. The coin has enjoyed a rapid rise in popularity, with its best period coming in the first week of this month, where it registered a price increase of more than 1,000%.

Since this amazing rally earlier in the month, however, the cryptocurrency has seemed to have run out of steam. Nonetheless, market participants have still been wondering about the long-term prospects of the coin, as the meme coin has been looked at as the next big thing after DOGE and SHIB.

But cab PEPE really compare with these top two meme coins by market cap?

In its latest insight, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has compared a couple of metrics between these three assets, to see where PEPE stands against them.

The first indicator of interest here is the trading volume, which is a measure of the daily total amount of a given cryptocurrency thats being transacted on the blockchain.

Here is a chart that highlights how the trading volume for PEPE has looked recently, as well as the behavior the indicator showed during the respective peaks of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu:

Pepe vs Shiba Inu vs Dogecoin

As displayed in the above graph, PEPE has observed a peak trading volume of $2 billion so far, which is quite sizeable in isolation, but when compared to what Dogecoin and Shiba Inu saw during their best periods, the spike appears very small.

Naturally, these humongous spikes in DOGEs and SHIBs trading volumes occurred only later in the lifetimes of the assets, while the frog is still very much in its infancy.

Although PEPEs trading volume is significantly lower, it leaves room for growth and untapped potential, explains Santiment.

However, it also means that the liquidity and retail participation in the market for PEPE is far less than what DOGE and SHIB experienced in previous years. In fact, it seems the retail landscape has changed dramatically, with retail participation appearing nearly nonexistent, the on-chain data aggregator added.

The other metric of relevance here is the ...

Ukraine To Blow Up A NATO Pipeline Enrages Hungary "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) country Hungary is upset after a leak obtained by The Washington Post revealed that Ukraine was planning to blow up the Druzhba oil pipeline.  The pipeline transports crude from Russia to Hungary.

According to the leaked documents, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed at a February meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko that Ukraine should blow up the pipeline in order to incapacitate the part of the Hungarian energy infrastructure reliant on Russian oil.

Hungarian government spokesman Zoltn Kovcs reacted in a tweet with a short question: How is it possible that Ukraine is plotting against a NATO country??

It looks like Zelensy is taking pages out of the U.S. ruler Joe Bidens book:

Russia: Evidence U.S. Is Guilty Of Destroying Nord Stream Is More Than A Smoking Gun

Hungarian security analyst Pter Tarjnyi said in a Facebook post that this would be a very unfriendly, mistaken and stupid move.

He added: I understand that Ukraine does not like many Hungarian government actions and communications, but this does not justify such a plan or idea.

Tarjnyi then recalled that on the one hand, Hungary has helped hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian refugees over the past 15 months, despite all the differences of opinion. We have to understand, our country sent aid, medicine AND!!! in the end, voted for ALL sanctions against Russia.

He then pointed out that in addition to this, and this is not a negligible FACT, Hungary is a NATO member, so such a plan makes no sense at all. This is a huge self-deception on the part of Ukraine, and Kyiv must expla...
