Only 1,032 Addresses Control Over 60% Of All Litecoin (LTC) In Circulation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

1,032 addresses control over 51.2 million Litecoin (LTC) in circulation, on-chain data from BitInfoCharts on May 15.

Litecoin Under Siege?

Records from the Top 100 Litecoin Rich List show that 7,355,585 LTC in circulation worth $639,814,097 are controlled by 8.78% of all registered addresses. At the same time, 26,526,499 LTC worth over $2.3 billion is managed by 111 addresses, while 17,993,930 LTC exceeding $1.5 billion are held by 918 addresses.

As of May 15, there were 72,924,127 LTC in circulation. So this concentration alone means over 60% of all LTC in circulation are controlled by 1,032 addresses. Furthermore, the network will only dispense 84,000 LTC to miners as block rewards.

Litecoin is a proof-of-work network like Bitcoin. It relies on a community of special nodes called miners to validate on-chain transactions and add them to the longest chain. For their participation, the lucky miner is rewarded 12.5 LTC per block every 2.5 minutes.

Based on the above statistics, whats notable is that the $2.3 billion of LTC at spot rates owned by 111 addresses represents the biggest concentration compared to any other range by address count.

To illustrate, 794,934 addresses holding between 0.01 and 0.1 LTC cumulatively own 29,508 LTC. With 794,934 addresses in this range, they are the highest number of LTC owners by wallet address count.

However, considering their total holdings, these addresses are a minority since whales currently hold over 60% of the total circulating supply. Specifically, there are three whales with over 2 million LTC as of writing on May 15.

The largest LTC whale holds 2,504,667 LTC worth over $217 million. This address is active and constantly accumulates. Of note, the largest LTC whales began accumulating within the last five years from 2018.

According to on-chain data by BitInfoCharts, the last time this address deposited LTC was on May 10, 2023. Meanwhile, the last withdrawal was in early January 2023.

For instance, the second largest LTC whale, with over 2.47 million coins, started depositing coins in mid-June 2022. He withdrew a por...

Bitcoin 2023 Is The Festival Of Humanity We Need As Technologys Grip Grows Stronger "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Nozomi Hayase, Ph.D., who has a background in psychology and human development. Disclaimer: Bitcoin 2023 and Bitcoin Magazine are both operated by BTC Inc.

With rising inflation and a growing number of bank failures, the dysfunctional nature of the fiat system becomes more apparent day by day. In the midst of this chaos, Bitcoin enthusiasts are staying calm, even generally hopeful about their futures.

As public trust in institutions weakens, governments around the world are gearing up for

central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) as a means of reasserting their authority over peoples money.

Thank God, we have Bitcoin!

Those of us who are fortunate to have found it are relieved that Bitcoin exists. As Christine Lagarde, the head of the European Central Bank once acknowledged, Bitcoin is an escape hatch from the financial surveillance state.

Bitcoin, the hardest money ever created, presents a real alternative to both current fiat currencies and CBDCs. Now, those who so choose dont have to go down the path leading toward a dystopian society. This might make us feel at ease. Some of you might think we can just HODL and maybe orange pill newcomers here and there, and simply wait for hyperbitcoinization. But I say, Not quite yet. We cant just sit back and relax.

We Bitcoiners have important tasks ahead: Bitcoin's battle against the fraudulent banking system is far from over. It is really only just beginning.

The Battle Is Beginning

Bitcoin, over the 14 years since its creation, has been slowly unveiling its revolutionary potential. Bitcoin is a form of digital gold that cannot be confiscated. As a saving technology, it provides inflation proofing, allowing us to store value securely. Its core feature of censorship resistance has also helped it to gain popularity, since the importance of having freedom money has become clearer to political dissidents and the oppressed the world over.

Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has wound down, and the...

Stablecoins Interest Spikes As Traders Look To Exit Market "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data shows there has been a large spike in interest around stablecoins recently, a sign that investors of Bitcoin and other assets may be looking to exit.

Stablecoins Have Observed A Sharp Rise In Social Volume Recently

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, there has been a major uptick in the social volume of the stablecoins recently. The social volume refers to an indicator that measures the total number of social media text documents that are talking about a certain topic or term.

The social media text documents here have been collected by Santiment and include a variety of sources like Reddit, Twitter, Telegram, and other internet forums.

Something to note about the metric is that it only tells us about the unique number of such posts that are mentioning the given term at least once. This means that even if a thread includes several mentions of the topic, its contribution towards the social volume will still remain only one unit.

The social volume can provide insight into the degree of attention any particular coin is getting on social media platforms. Whenever this indicators value goes up, it means that the general interest in the asset among investors is rising currently.

Now, here is a chart that shows the 7-day change in the social volume for the various assets in the cryptocurrency sector (including the stablecoins):

Stablecoin and Bitcoin Social Volume

As displayed in the above graph, the social volume of a lot of the volatile assets has registered a negative 7-day change, implying that there is a lesser amount of discussion happening related to them right now as compared to a week ago.

Some of the assets like Bitcoin have seen a positive 7-day change in the metric, but the increase has only been minuscule for them, implying that their social volume is relatively unchanged.

Interestingly, while the volatile assets may have seen decreasing or sideways-moving social volumes, the stablecoins have seen a completely different trend with the metric; their social volumes have sharply surged in the past week.

USD Coin (USDC), which is the stablecoin second only to Tether (USDT) in terms of market cap, has seen an extraordinar...

Ripple Transaction Count Down 65%, Will This Affect XRP Prices? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The number of on-chain Ripple (XRP) transactions on the XRPL is down 65% from 2.5 million on March 19 to less than 900,000 on May 14, 2023.

XRP Transactions Crashing

As of May 14, 2023, 852,000 transactions were processed by the XRPL, a decentralized blockchain network by Ripple Labs curated for fast value transfer. This represents a 65% drop from March 19 peak when the total number of transactions on the XRPL stood at over 2.5 million.

Notably, there has been no solid technical reason, such as blockchain or node vulnerability in the XRPL, during this period to explain the contraction in transaction count.

However, whats evident is that the crypto market has been under pressure in the last two months from March to May 2023. This might have contributed to the drop in the number of on-chain transactions.

On March 29, XRP prices peaked at around $0.58. This was 10 days after the XRP transaction count surged to the highest level on March 19. From the second half of March, however, transaction count and XRP prices have been falling.

XRP prices are down 27% to $0.42 as of writing on mid-May, down from $0.58 registered on March 29. However, whether XRP prices will continue to track lower, mirroring the number of XRPL transaction count, remains uncertain.

Overall, the number of on-chain transactions can directly influence transaction fees and prices. Moreover, it can provide insight into the level of demand for the cryptocurrency and the blockchain network. The more demand for the underlying networks token, the higher the trading volumes, and this upsurge can influence prices.

On the XRPL, users pay fees using XRP. Therefore, the higher the demand for XRP in transaction settlement, the more upward pressure there will be for the native currency.

The contraction in the number of XRP transactions is at the back of declining prices. Nonetheless, it should be noted that the drop in XRP prices wasnt an isolated event. Like the other crypto prices, XRP and top coins, including BTC and ETH, have been retracing from recent peaks registered in March and April 2023.

As an illustration, after surging to as high as $31,000, BTC prices have since dropped, falling to as low as $25,800 on May 12.

Meanwhile,  XRP is currently trading at $0.41, down from $0.58 posted in late March 2023.

The remarkable growth and upward trajectory of Doge CEO token exemplify the continued enthusiasm among retail investors for the burgeoning meme coin revolution.

In an astounding turn of events, the price of DOGECEO on CoinGecko has reached an infinitesimal value of $0.000000000007182, marking a surge of 4.9% in the last 24 hours and a staggering rally of 196.7% over the past week.

Gem-Encrusted Creatures Encounter Otherworldly Ecologies in Jon Chings Vibrant Oil Paintings "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An oil painting of a flamingo wading through some cacti.

A seahorse nestles in amongst cherry blossoms, and a cone of violet flowers morph from a glistening amethyst in Jon Chings uncanny ecologies. In jewel-toned oil paintings, the Los Angeles-based artists hybrid creatures sport regal headdresses or merge their bodies with gems and crystals. He often focuses on a central character in a contradictory environment, such as an owl among gourds, a flamingo wading between cacti in a wetland, or a bird hatching from a Faberg egg.

Recently, Ching started creating what he describes as quieter compositions, panning out from central portraits to unveil the enigmatic wonder of nature as a whole. Landscapes and the details of the animals surroundings take precedence and sometimes border on optical illusions, like the luna moths tucked in with ginkgo leaves in Nagamorphose or a dewy spider web made of diamonds in Arachnitite. Increasingly highlighting species that are misunderstood or get a bad rap, his new paintings are less about the animal itself and more about the beauty that exists in the world, he says in a recent article in American Art Collector, sharing that he wants to push back against our cultural biases about certain animals.

Many of these pieces are part of Chings solo exhibition Terra Brio at Haven Gallery on Long Island, which continues through June 4. He also just released a print edition of In Plain Sight, which you can find in...

As The U.S. Faces Default On $31 Trillion Debt, The Case For Bitcoin Grows Stronger "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Robert Hall, a content creator and small business owner.

If you follow U.S. politics, you understand that the country is on the brink of defaulting on its massive $31 trillion debt.

At the crux of the issue is that there are Republicans in one corner, who control the House of Representatives with a slim 222 to 213 majority. In the other corner, the U.S. Senate and the White House, under Joe Biden, are controlled by Democrats.

Both parties are diametrically opposed to what the other wants. Republicans want to significantly cut spending in order to raise the debt limit for a year. Democrats want a clean debt ceiling bill passed without strings attached. As you can see, both parties starting positions are nowhere near each other. Ultimately, this has turned into a game of chicken based on who will blink first. Its all very tiring.

Is this the way a government should be run? It is absolutely crazy that these leaders would risk defaulting on money that has already been spent. This is like if you or I whipped out a credit card, went crazy buying all kinds of stuff, and did not make the monthly payment at the end of the month.

The government has been able to run up the debt for a long time because it has had willing participants, such as pension funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds and regular joes who lent them money by buying treasury bills because they believed they would be paid back with interest.

This has been the case for a long time, but now this arrangement is being called into question with the will they, wont they bull going on in Congress right now.

Seriously Broke

Are these politicians so detached from reality to think that, once the debt limit is breached and people stop getting paid what is owed to them, people will go right back to loaning them money?

If they do, they will demand even higher interest rates. The government cant even afford the rates we have now! What happens if the borrowing cost for the government goes to 10...

Dogecoin Sees Highest Transactions Count Ever Due DRC20 Madness "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Bitcoin Inscriptions craze is spreading to Dogecoin. The number of transactions that the Dogecoin blockchain has had to process in the last few days have risen to an all-time high, mainly due to the new DRC20 token standard.

DRC20 tokens on Dogecoin are an experimental token standard that works similarly to the minting and transfer of fungible tokens via the Ordinals protocol on the Bitcoin blockchain. Technically, this is possible because Dogecoin was created by inventor Billy Markus forking Lucky Coin, which is itself a fork of Bitcoin.

Dogecoin Transactions Surpass All-Time High By 3x

In the last 7 days, the number of transactions recorded on the Dogecoin blockchain have skyrocketed. Before the DRC20 token standard was created, the Dogecoin network recorded no more than 23,754 transactions per day throughout May, according to data from BitInfoCharts. Last Saturday, May 13, Dogecoin saw a staggering 628,209 transactions.

To put that in perspective: The highest number ever recorded before this new alltime-high was on December 20, 2013, when the network processed just 201,440 transactions. In comparison, the total number of transactions that took place on Saturday (628,209) is more than three times the historic high from 2013.

The madness first started rolling on Tuesday, May 9, when the transaction count doubled to over 40,000 and remained at that level over the next three days. On 11 May (Thursday) the Cambrian explosion occurred when the number of transactions rose above 450,000 for the first time. The sudden surge in transactions is mainly due to the registration process used to create the Doginals and DRC20 tokens.

DRC20 And Doginals Spark Controversy

In response to the emergence of DRC20 tokens, many members of the community enthusiastically began exploring and minting these tokens. However, Dogecoin core maintainer Patrick Lodder has little enthusiasm for the new trend. Json doginals minting scams,...

PEPE Outperforms Bitcoin In Social Media Buzz, Triggers Bullish Run For Frog Coin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Pepecoin (PEPE) has recently gained significant attention on social media platforms, outperforming Bitcoin in terms of buzz and hype.

As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve rapidly, the power of social media in driving prices and market sentiment cannot be underestimated.

With Pepecoin generating a surge of interest and excitement among investors and traders, the question now arises: could this trigger a renewed bullish run for PEPE?

Pepecoin, named after the popular Pepe the Frog meme, has emerged as a promising new player in the cryptocurrency space. Its community-driven approach and unique branding have attracted a loyal following, which has helped it gain traction on social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit.

Pepecoin (PEPE) Emerges As A Social Media Darling

Pepecoin (PEPE) has taken the cryptocurrency world by storm, surpassing Bitcoin and other popular digital assets in terms of social media buzz. This newfound attention has triggered a surge in discussions and mentions of PEPE on various social media platforms, as tweeted by LunarCrush, a leading social analytics platform.

These Things Are Way Older Than Most People Think "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The way technology is and how quickly the world changes, I think its easy to assume everything we see and touch isnt that old.

Some things are, though, and if youre thinking these handful of things havent been around long at all, youre sorely mistaken!

We still havent gotten it right.

The electric car.

What is likely the first human-carrying electric vehicle with its own power source was tested along a Paris street in April 1881 by French inventor Gustave Trouv. The first crude electric car was built in the 1830s but it was essentially a semi-functioning model.

The electric car was a direct competitor to gasoline powered vehicles until the 1920s when roads got better, people started driving further than the range of an electric car, and the world started finding major oil reserves.

18th century soda.

The first carbonated drink to be sold to the public was invented by Swiss watchmaker and amateur scientist J. J. Schweppe in 1783, who sold his delicious sparkling water to thirsty customers in Geneva.

In just seven years, he was doing business so fast that he moved the factory to London and introduced a new flavor, sparkling lemon, to stand out from competitors who were trying to imitate his drink.

Go check them out for yourself!

Escalators have been around since 1859, though they were called rotating stairs.

Yet the US state of Wyoming still only has 2 of them.

The basics remain the same.

The Aux connector that we still use for headphones and speakers was invented in 1877.

There have been improvements since, but the basics of it are pretty much the same.

Bitcoin Tweets Surpass Dogecoin Despite Meme Coin Craze "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data from BitcoinInfoCharts, an analytics platform, shows that there are far more tweets about Bitcoin than Dogecoin despite the spike of meme token activity in the past month.

Tweets About Bitcoin Exceed Those Of Dogecoin

As of May 14, there were over 200,000 tweets related to Bitcoin. In contrast, users only posted roughly 4,800 tweets about the first meme coin, Dogecoin. Whats interesting is that this trend has been constant even with the spike in meme token activities over the past month.

Bitcoin is the first blockchain project and the most valuable cryptocurrency that some governments have adopted. Trading at over $27,000 as of May 15, the coin dominates the crypto scene. It has remained resilient even in the recent crypto winter.

As dominance data shows, Bitcoin is preferred by traders despite the rise of meme tokens like Pepe Coin (PEPE) and Dogecoin.

For context, after rising to as highs as $0.70 during the last bull cycle, Dogecoin prices plunged by over 90% throughout 2022, falling to as low as $0.05.

Dogecoin Price On May 15| Source: DOGEUSDT On Binance, TradingView

During the last Bull Run, between April and May 2021, there were more tweets about Dogecoin than Bitcoin. For instance, as of April 16, 2021, there were 3,000 tweets about Dogecoin than Bitcoin. However, this was the last time there were more tweets about Dogecoin than Bitcoin.

Since then, the number of Dogecoin tweets has fallen, following DOGE prices which also began crashing in May 2021. And although Bitcoin prices peaked at over $69,000 in November 2021, they also contracted in subsequent months, dropping to as low as $16,000 in late 2022. Still, there were more tweets about Bitcoin than Dogecoin throughout the bear market of 2022.

Fortunately, DOGE and BTC prices have since recovered from the pits of 2022. DOGE prices rose 115% from H2 2022 lows to $0.105 in April 2023. At that time, BTC rallied from below $16,000 to as high as $31,000.

Tweets Arent Everything

Typically, the number of tweets about a cryptocurrency project can be used to measure popularity. The more there are tweets related to a crypto project, the more likely that it could be trending and that the crypto community is engaging with the platform.

Even so, in most cases, considering the misuse of bots, the credibility of those tweets should be questioned. Depending on the popularity of projects, some rogue actors can be paid to spam the platform, incre...

Shiba Inu Coin Holders Hit Hard As 80% Of Addresses Smothered In Red "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu is causing significant losses for its investors. Recent data reveals that the hype surrounding SHIB, the once darling of the meme coin industry, may have led many investors astray.

At the time of writing, a staggering 80% of all Shiba Inu token address holders are experiencing losses on their holdings, a fact that is causing concern among cryptocurrency enthusiasts and investors alike.

Despite the initial excitement surrounding Shiba Inu, it appears that the reality of the situation is starting to set in for many investors.

With such a high percentage of token holders not expected to make any kind of money as of yet, it is clear that the hype train may have been running a little too fast.

This sharp downturn in the market has left many crypto capitalists wondering what happened and whether their investments will ever recover.

Shiba Inu Token Holders Suffer Losses, Data Shows Addresses Unprofitable

New data from IntoTheBlock indicates that the majority of Shiba Inu token holders are experiencing losses on their holdings.

As of now, four out of five SHIB investors are holding unprofitable addresses, equating to 991,440 addresses with 497 trillion tokens valued at around $4.4 billion. This leaves only $668.4 million worth of SHIB that is currently profitable to its holders.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that many of these unprofitable addresses purchased SHIB at the $0.000009 to $0.000014 price range.

According to data, there are 348,170 such addresses, holding an enormous volume of 281.12 trillion SHIB.

At present, the Shiba Inu token is ranked sixth among the largest cryptocurrencies in terms of the ratio of loss-making addresses to profitable ones.

Recent SHIB Prices Raise Concerns About Long-Term Holding

The current price of Shiba Inu token, listed at $0.00000892 per token on CoinGecko, is drawing attention due to its recent pricing history.

Ripple CLO Exposes How SEC Ignores Law And Brags About It "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The legal battle between Ripple Labs and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US District Court of Southern New York is still awaiting a ruling from Judge Analisa Torres. Just last week, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse downgraded expectations, stating that a ruling would likely come in two to six months rather than the first half of 2023.

However, this is not stopping Ripples Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Stuart Alderoty from continuing to attack the SEC and expose its unlawful legal practices. Via Twitter, Alderoty shared a court decision over the weekend that shows just that.

Ripple CLO Exposes Unlawful Guidance By SEC

Specifically, it concerns the common enterprise issue that is a component of the Howey test. The Ripple CLO writes that in the 1946 Supreme Court case Howey, the SEC unsuccessfully tried to pull off a trick that it is unpacking again today. At the time, the SEC wanted to enforce that an investment in a common enterprise was not required as long as there was a common interest.

The SEC was wrong then and it is wrong now. Common Interest Common Enterprise, wrote Alderoty, who also shared the text of the writ. XRP community attorney John E. Deaton added that the SECs framework for digital assets ignores just that:

The SEC is so arrogant that it ignores the law and brags about it.

The SECs website, where the Framework for Investment Contract Analysis of Digital Assets can be found, states that in order to satisfy the common enterprise aspect of the Howey test, federal courts require that there be either horizontal commonality or vertical commonality (Revak v. SEC Realty Corp.).

The Commission, on the other hand, does not require vertical or horizontal commonality per se, nor does it consider a common enterprise to be a distinct element of the term investment contract.

On that basis, Alderoty said in a follow-up tweet:

The Revak case exposes yet another SEC sleight of hand. Without a common enterprise it matters not whether the fortunes of investors are tied to the efforts of others. The Howey test is not so easily satisfied.

Whether Judge Torres will agree and rule in Ripples favour remains to be seen. The pressure on the judge is likely to be int...

US DoJ Goes After Rogue Exchanges As Crypto Crimes Grow Significantly "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Eun Young Choi, the first director of the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (NCET), has told reporters that crypto-related crimes have risen significantly in recent years. Through her team, the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) now plans to go after rogue exchanges that knowingly allow criminals to launder money.

NCET Wants Exchanges To Be Compliant

The Financial Times reports that Choi is concerned about the spike in crypto-enabled crimes and is setting their eyes on cryptocurrency exchanges, mixers, and tumblers.

Open-source token mixers such as Tornado Cash, a protocol that United States authorities have already sanctioned, are widely used by criminals to launder stolen assets. Because they make it hard for authorities to trace transactions on public ledgers, hackers are actively exploiting these tools to obfuscate transactions and evade justice.

NCET and the DoJ will go after crypto companies that, though compliant with existing laws on paper, have allowed themselves to be used by criminals; a development that Choi says is problematic.

By targeting these rogue agents, the director said they would send a deterrent message and hope their involvement would have a multiplier effect.

Specifically, NCET seems to have a problem with cryptocurrency exchanges that skirt anti-money laundering rules and those which dont comply with know-your-customer (KYC) laws. The enforcement team says going after them could make them invest more in risk-mitigation procedures and comply more with existing rules.

Binance, the worlds largest cryptocurrency exchange, is reportedly one of the exchanges on the radar of the DoJ. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the DoJ, among other agencies, including the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is investigating the Changpeng Zhao-led exchange for violating established rules.

US Governments Position On Crypto

President Joe Bidens administration has taken a relatively tough stance on cryptocurrencies. Regulators in the United States have been in recent months going after companies they deem to be non-compliant, especially after the collapse of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange.

The position adopted in the United States, especially on regulation and enforcement, could be one of the strictest in the world. Several officials and policymakers in the country strongly believe cryptocurrencies can pose a significant risk to the stability of their financial infrastructure, which could also impact national security.

In that regard, steps have been taken to increase overs...

She Cancelled A Family Vacation After Newly Widowed Mom Decided To Bring Her Boyfriend. Was She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No would would argue that watching a parent move on romantically after death or divorce is an easy thing and when you dont like the new partner, things can get awkward fast.

OPs parents were on the verge of a divorce when her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Her mother put aside her own feelings and took care of him through the end of his life.

My dad lost his 1.5 year battle with cancer one year ago (April 2022) at only 62 yrs old. He and my mom were married for 31 years. The few months before my dad got sick he and my mom were not on great terms and were contemplating divorce.

However, through my dads diagnosis and extreme ups and downs of treatment, they came together, squashed some of their issues and my mom was there to care for my dad every step of the way.

I miss him every day. Me and my mom had always been pretty close but since my dad died I feel like Im seeing and talking to her less and less these days and it makes me sad.

A year later shes moved on with someone new, and OP predictably hates him.

In August of 2022 (4 months after my Dad passed) my mom started seeing someone. Shed call him her friend, slip in mentions of him in conversation but I personally wanted NOTHING to do with him. (Still dont.) I thought it was TOO SOON and told her so.

Everyone grieves differently and dating after losing a spouse is hard but conversations Ive attempted with this guy and the chemistry between them has been super awkward IMO.

I feel like shes disregarding any feelings or push-back that me, my sister and extended family have about this relationship. (large extended family, all very close-knit).

Abandoned Houses in Japan "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

Jaya Thursfield and his Japanese-born wife, Chihiro, moved to Japan from London in 2017 with their two young sons and a dream of buying a home with a big yard. What they found was a house that had been abandoned about seven years earlier one of the millions of vacant houses known as akiya, Japanese for empty house throughout the country. Slightly curving eaves were much higher off the ground than those of most houses. The entrance hall had its own gabled tile roof. The 2,700-square-foot house looked more like a Buddhist temple than a farmhouse because it had been built by a temple architect in 1989.
We would never have been able to afford a house of this quality and size if it wasnt an akiya, Chihiro said. And while many Japanese dont like used homes, foreigners see a house that is cheap and are more willing to reuse and renovate to their tastes and budget.
As Japans population shrinks and more properties go unclaimed, an emerging segment of buyers, feeling less tethered to cities, is seeking out rural architecture in need of some love. The most recent government data, from the 2018 Housing and Land survey, reported about 8.5 million akiya across the country roughly 14 percent of the countrys overall housing stock but observers say there are many more today.

People Share Facts About The Human Body That Are Truly Disturbing "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

If you sit and think too hard about it, the human body will really start to wig you out. Its a lot of different systems, many of which are built to deal with gross stuff, and honestly, were not really sure how most of it works and why.

If youre looking to get weird, though, here are some totally disturbing facts about the body youre living in.

Those brains are always working for you.

No matter how hard you strain, its estimated you only use about 60% of your full strength. This is not due to weakness of muscle but your brain. The disturbing part? If your brain didnt stop you, you could tear your own ligaments, muscles, tendons and break your own bones trying to throw a ball as hard as you can

Anecdotal urban legends of mothers lifting cars off babies are thought to have been the fight-or-flight of adrenaline temporarily overriding this limit.

You definitely dont want that to happen.

vitamin C deficiency aka scurvy will eventually cause your collagen levels to deplete that all your old scar tissue will start to break down and old wounds will start to reopen.

You cant fix it (easily).

Most disturbing fact for me is : Hormones in your brain drastically affect who you are as a person.

Nothing you can do about, not your mind, intelligence or will power, you are a slave to your brain chemistry.

Thank you, brain.

Your brain blocks out the feeling of your organs moving around in your body.

A related fun fact: After giving birth, some women can feel their organs sliding back into place as their uterus shrinks.

Designer Creates Colorful Swimming Pool With 130,000 Rainbow Glass Tiles "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Designer Creates Colorful Swimming Pool With 130,000 Rainbow Glass Tiles

Chromatic Pool Design by Felipe Pantone

Argentian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone has elevated the average swimming pool into a work of art. Working at a house in Jvea, Spain, he used 130,000 mosaic tiles by ONIX to transform the rectangular basin into a pixelated rainbow design. The finished work, titled Chromadynamica Pool, is a beacon of bejeweled light next to modern architecture and natural surroundings.

It is easiest to see Pantone's approach when the pool is empty. He began the rainbow design in the center, using an array of yellow, red, blue, and white tesserae to create wide rays that stretch to every corner. Due to the nature of square tiles, these beams of color look pixelated. However, when water is added, the liquid interacts with the tiles to create a mesmerizing optical illusion. As a result, the rainbow fixed to the bottom of the pool appears to shift and move with the light.

Pantone began this installation by devising the design on the computer. From there, he carefully chose the limited color palette that would best interact with water and sunlight. Color only happens because of light, and light is the only reason why life happens, Pantone says. Light and color are the very essence of visual art. Thanks to television, computers, and modern lighting, our perception of light and color has changed completely.

You can see more of Pantones fantastic work on his website.

What It Takes to Grow: Pioneering Psychoanalyst Karen Horney on the Key to Self-Realization "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Self-knowledge is not an aim in itself, but a means of liberating the forces of spontaneous growth. In this sense, to work at ourselves becomes not only the prime moral obligation, but the prime moral privilege.

What It Takes to Grow: Pioneering Psychoanalyst Karen Horney on the Key to Self-Realization

The measure of growth is not how much we have changed, but how harmoniously we have integrated our changes with all the selves we have been those vessels of personhood stacked within the current self like Russian nesting dolls, not to be outgrown but to be tenderly incorporated. True growth is immensely difficult precisely because it requires befriending the parts of ourselves we have rejected or forgotten what James Baldwin so memorably called the doom and glory of knowing who you are and what you are; it requires shedding all the inauthentic personae we have put on in the course of life under the forces of convention and compulsion; it requires living amicably with who we have been in order to fully live into who we can be.

Those delicate and often difficult fundaments of true growth are what the German psychoanalyst Karen Horney (September 16, 1885December 4, 1952) examined in the final years of her life in her uncommonly insightful book Neurosis and Human Growth: The Struggle Toward Self-Realization (public library).

What did a young man look like 35,000 years ago? Modern DNA and computer modeling technology can give us a good, although imperfect, idea. Two Brazil-based researchersarchaeologist Moacir Elias Santos and 3D designer Ccero Moraesrecently published stunning facial reconstructions of a man who roamed Egypt hunting and gathering long before the pyramids and pharaohs. Starting with an ancient skull, the Paleolithic face they created is based on science with artistic decision-making. It allows viewers to feel close to this historic human.

The team started from a skeleton discovered in 1980 at Nazlet Khater 2, an archeological site in ancient Egypt. The skeleton was largely complete except for some feet and hand portions. The ancient Homo sapien would have stood 5'3 inches tall, and he was likely aged between 17 and 29 years. He is of African ancestry and would have hunted and gathered in a nomadic lifestyle. The skeleton is currently at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and it has since been discovered that it is about 35,000 to 30,000 years old. This is within the Upper Paleolithic, around the time the earliest modern human settlements and...

Groups Lobbying For Covid Vaccine Mandates Were Funded By Pfizer "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Zachary Streiber, Multiple organizations that pushed for COVID-19 vaccine mandates received funding from Pfizer, according to financial disclosures When Chicago Urban League President Karen Freeman-Wilson said in August 2021 that the benefit of mandates far outweighs concerns about them, she didnt mention that her organization had received a $100,000 grant for a vaccine safety and effectiveness campaign, according to a Pfizer disclosure. That same month, the National Consumers League said it supported mandates imposed by governments and employers. In recent weeks, it has become evident that employer mandates are effective at nudging reluctant people to get the COVID-19 vaccine, the group said in a statement. The organization received $75,000 from Pfizer in the third quarter of 2021 for vaccine policy efforts. The American Academy of Pediatrics drew more than $250,000 from Pfizer in 2021, the bulk coming before the organization...

KAVA Soars 31% This Week With Anticipation Of Mainnet Upgrade "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

KAVA, the utility token of decentralized blockchain Kava, has been on a strong bullish trend in the last few days. The cryptocurrency maintained this momentum despite the bearish market sentiment in the past week, garnering an impressive 31% price gain.

To end what was a largely positive week, a proposal to initiate the first phase of Kava Horizon was submitted by the Layer-1 ecosystem.

KAVA Price Overview

Recently, the KAVA token has been on a positive price rally, gaining more than 30% of its value in the last seven days. For long-term investors, this may be seen as some form of recovery, as the coin had not been performing well until a week ago.

To put this into perspective, the token has only increased by 1.6% in the past month. In fact, up until the 8th of May, the price of KAVA was on a steady decline, losing nearly 29% of its value in three weeks.

That said, an upward price movement that started a week ago has seen the token climb up to its previous high of $0.96. As of this writing, KAVA is valued at $0.969, tallying a 4.7% increase in 24 hours.

KAVA

This latest price increase has been linked to the upcoming upgrade on the mainnet. Scheduled for 17th May, 2023 (15:00 UTC), the Kava 13 upgrade aims to bring architectural enhancements to the security, scalability, and functionality of the network. Consequently, this will help developers to scale and accelerate their protocols and improve user experience across the ecosystem.

According to CoinGecko data, KAVA has a market capitalization of $495.5 million, which places it as the 90th largest cryptocurrency in the market. It is, however, worth noting that the tokens daily trading volume has dipped by 51.7% to $21.9 million in the last 24 hours.

Kava Submits Proposal To Initiate Horizon

On May 13, 2023, Kava advanced its plans to implement the first...

Bitcoin SV Tallies 10% Gains On Weekly Chart, Nears $40 Mark "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

While the global crypto market capitalization has plunged in the past week, with most coins trading in the red, Bitcoin SV (BSV) bucked the bears. BSV has scored 10% price gains on the weekly chart. The coin gained 2.47% on the last day, showing a 0.57% price increase in the previous hour. With todays performance, Bitcoin SV joined the list of top-performing coins over the past timeframe and might be nearing $40.

Bitcoin SV Back In The Spotlight

Bitcoin SV was created in 2018 due to a hard fork from Bitcoin Cash led by the controversial Craig Wright. The idea was to create a blockchain that could process transactions faster with a larger block size limit, a major bottleneck for Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin.

In addition, BSV has incorporated Ethereum-like capabilities such as native tokens, smart contracts, and other features to ensure interoperability within its blockchain. However, the token has failed to gain the sort of adoption it envisaged and hit an all-time low on May 8, bottoming at $29.17. But a series of events in the Bitcoin ecosystem has made the controversial token jump into the limelight.

Related Reading: Coinbase Engages Legal And Political Aids In Battling SEC

Top among these is the congestion on the Bitcoin network caused by Ordinals NFT and BRC-20 tokens. Bitcoin SV supporters believe its high transaction throughput and low transaction fees make it a better blockchain than Bitcoin, and the numbers support it. Currently, the average transaction fee on BSV is about $0.035, while average Bitcoin fees have spiked to $31.50 as more users jump on the BRC-20 token trend. This has led to a debate in the Bitcoin community, with advocates for increasing the block size growing louder.

This move has been rebuffed by core Bitcoin maximalists who believe that increasing this capacity would lead to greater centralization As fewer people can run a node that operates using higher bandwidth. This could be Bitcoin SVs gain as proponents believe it could provide an excellent alternative and fulfil llSatoshi Nakamotos dream of a peer-to-peer electronic money system as outlined in the original Bitcoin whitepaper.

Bitcoin SV Price Analysis

At the time of writing, Bitcoin SV is trading at $35.98, and if the bullish momentum continues, BSV could target $40 in the coming days. However, before reaching the $40 target, Bitcoin SV bulls may encounter an intermediate hurdle in the $37-$39 range.

Exquisite Architectural Drawings Capture the Special Niches of Cities and Towns

Architectural Drawings by Stephane le Lagadec

This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase, My Modern Met may earn an affiliate commission. Please read our disclosure for more info.

When walking through a town, there are many details that go unnoticed. Artist Stphane Le Lagadec, however, seeks out these overlooked niches and immortalizes them in exquisite architectural drawings. Using a series of fine liner pens, he captures quiet street corners, picturesque doorways, and hidden dwellings with masterful finesse.

Le Lagadec has a background in design and architecture; he currently teaches art by day and continues his series of illustrations on the side. My taste for architecture and urban spaces comes from childhood, as far as I can remember I have always loved it, even if I sometimes represent other themes, he tells My Modern Met.

His approach to drawing architecture is distinct, as he usually finds a portion of the town that interests him and then isolates it on the page. In this way, understated corners and narrow alleyways are celebrated just like significant landmarks would be.

There is also an effortless quality to Le Lagadec's work. Although he renders each of his pieces with penand even employs traditional shading techniques like hatchinghe alternates his meticulous linework with large areas of white which give the illustration a sense of lightness. Additionally, he takes care to leave all of these urban places devoid of human figures so that the viewer can place themselves in the scene and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

You can purchase drawings as they become available via Le Lagadec's Etsy shop, and keep up to date with his latest projects by following him on...

To Reach Women, Bitcoiners Should Change Their Approach "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Tali Lindberg, co-founder of Free Market Kids, a company focused on financial literacy and Bitcoin education.

Authors note: This is a politically-incorrect article because Im about to make gross generalizations about men and women. If you are easily offended, you probably shouldnt read on.

When I first entered the Bitcoin space, I met a woman who asked me if I was interested in starting a womans Bitcoin meetup.

I wish there was one, she said.

At the time, I was a bit offended by the idea.

Bitcoin is already a small space, why would we want to separate men and women? I wondered.

Since then, Ive had a change of heart.

Source: Author

Having participated in many Bitcoin events in different cities and states, Ive noticed that women are always outnumbered by men by a lot! I would estimate that 80% to 90% of the people Ive met in the Bitcoin space are men.

This is a problem.

Women have the power to shape the future leaders of this world through their intimate bonds with their children. A baby who is born this year may enter adulthood in a world where fiat currency is a thing of the past, and bitcoin is the global, digital currency.

This timeline, however, will not be possible without having the buy-in of more women.

In this article, I will discuss what Ive observed and make some recommendations on how to effectively introduce Bitcoin to more women.

Facts Vs. Stories

If you asked my husband what he thought about the state of the economy, he would immediately spout out facts about how our market is not free and how the government picks winners and losers. He would go on about zombie companies, malinvestment, how much the Federal Reserve inflates the money supply and how the chairman manipulates the interest rate, etc.

If you asked me the same question, on the other hand, I would talk about some of our elderly neighbors, and go into great detail about a recent conversation I had with a retired grandmother: Standing in the hot sun next to squawking hens as they pecked loudly and aggressively at their food, we discussed the challenges of protecting our chickens from predators and growing a garden, even though neither of us was passionate about farming.

(I can feel some of you getting impatient with me as youre reading this. Get...

Coinbase Engages Legal And Political Aids In Battling SEC "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The largest crypto exchange in the US, Coinbase, has made a notable move regarding the allegation from the US Securities and Exchange Commission on securities law violation.

Coinbase engaged a Global Advisory Council for the battle with the SEC. The council comprises heavy hitters from both the political and legal sectors.

Coinbase Gets Heavyweights In Its Council

The Coinbase crypto exchange announced the launch of a new Global Advisory Council, with some former US lawmakers as members.

According to the announcement, the Council will offer insights and business strategies for the exchange.

The Advisory Council includes political heavyweights like former Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH) and former Senator Patrick Toomey (R-PA).

Also, the Council includes former Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), John Anzalone from Impact Research, and Chris Lehane from Haun Ventures.

The Council will work closely with Coinbase Asset Management Academic and Regulatory Advisory Council members.

Similarly, the Coinbase body comprises prominent personalities such as former SEC Chair Jay Clayton and former CIA General Counsel Courtney Elwood.

Others are the senior managing director at Compass Lexecon Jon Orszag and Kevin Hassett of the Hoover Institution.

Coinbase noted that creating the Advisory Council is a step in the right direction for the company. It would help the exchange to maintain a flawless operation process while rebuilding its strategies in the US and globally.

Coinbase is currently in a legal face-off with the SEC. So, engaging a new council is part of its preparatory strategies.

Coinbase Prepares To Fight With The SEC

Notably, the US SEC has toughened its regulatory stance in the crypto industry and is now closely watching most crypto-related firms.

In one of its enforcement actions, the SEC issued a Wells Notice to Coinbase in March, warning the company of a possible lawsuit over alleged breaches of securities.

Reacting to the notice, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong noted that the regulator is focusing its accusations on staking and asset listing. He recalled that the SEC had reviewed the exchanges operations and approved its license in the past.

Ripple CTO Labels BEN Coin As Scam, Bitboy Reacts "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ripples Chief Technology Officer (CTO), David Schwartz, responded to a tweet from a crypto enthusiast, calling the BEN Coin project a 100% rug pull. Schwartz asked the poster why he believed such but still stated his reservations about the new crypto project.

So many crypto coins launch daily in the market. However, scam projects and rug pulls also deceive unsuspecting customers into investing.

A rug pull is a crypto scam where the project founder suddenly withdraws the projects liquidity, disappearing with investor funds. This leads to a sharp price drop and losses for investors.

David Schwartz Expresses Reservations About BEN Coin

A crypto enthusiast believes the BEN coin project was a 100% rug pull. Reacting to the tweet, Schwartz asked the user if he believed the rug pull would occur in the future or if Bitboys involvement in the project was a rug pull. Schwartz further concluded that he believed one of those scenarios.

However, the popular crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, Bitboy,  reacted to these allegations stating that they are products of ignorance and hate.

He further explained that he is a force to reckon with in the crypto space, participating in projects that affected over 99% of the community. Also, he explained that his company employs over 40 people.

According to Armstrong, he has produced two videos daily in the past five years, a testament to his commitment to educating the crypto community.

Bitboy asked the crypto community to stop believing memes that can create a negative impression.

Also, in another tweet, Armstrong informed his followers that he was taking over the BEN coin project. He also agrees with @eth_ben, a Twitter user, that BEN coins liquidity and assets will be transferred to him in a week.

Notably, BitBoy stated earlier that the coin was launched to serve as the governance token for his DAO. Also, the BEN token launched and traded for two days before BitBoy announced its existence.

Helen Cammocks Love Letter to New Orleans "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

For centuries, artists of many persuasions have tried to portray the character of New Orleans, but the place resists capture. Its essence is to have uncountable essences, the prodigious layers of unrepeatable history both hidden and everywhere evident. It is a conundrum and a paradox, a city of joy and a compendium of sorrows.

Only an artist deploying similarly varied mediums could hope to approach its complexities. With I Will Keep My Soul, Helen Cammock, who uses film, photography, poetry, and performance to examine her subjects, mixes viewpoints on the ways New Orleanss variegated past informs its present. A British artist who shared the 2019 Turner Prize with three others, she spent time in 2022 in the city and the archives of the Amistad Research Center. The result is a wide-ranging exhibition currently at Art + Practice in Los Angeles (in partnership with the California African American Museum), which will travel to New Orleans in October through December 2023, where it will be expanded at several sites with film, outdoor installations of her text-based work,...

Local Mans Latest Rambling Voicemail from Mother Features Phoebe Bridgers "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

ROCKLAND, Mass. Local man Eddie Clifford was surprised to discover the most recent extended voicemail from his mother Ruth featured a cameo from acclaimed singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, confirmed multiple confused sources.

My moms voicemails always start off the same. She starts with I love you, I miss you and then it usually gets kind of dark when she starts to let loose with what she actually wanted to say, said Clifford while trying to upload the voicemail message to Youtube. Today was different though, around the four-minute mark my mother just stopped talking and suddenly it was Phoebe Bridgers singing a beautiful song about how my mother raised me to be better than this, and how I need to take a long look in the mirror. Then it cut back to my mom who sounded a little tipsy saying Dont bother calling me back.

Bridgers, who has been a featured guest vocalist on multiple notable tracks over the past few years, says she was excited to work with Cliffords 64-year-old mother.

I first discovered Ruth by accident on Facebook in 2017. She would post some of the most hilarious status updates like Why is Eddie getting married? and Can I force my son oldest son to get a divorce? I think she was trying to use Google but got confused, said Bridgers during a 40-second break from touring. I had my management reach out to her immediately. It took her nearly six years to respond, but it was worth the wait. When I heard she planned on having a bottle of wine and calling her son I needed to be a part of it. I asked her to do some work with boygenius, but that led her to talk about how Eddie did really good in school and now acts like an idiot.

Popular music reviewer Anthony Fantano was quick to praise the collaboration between Mrs. Clifford and Bridgers.

Ruth Clifford has been known for years in the underground voicemail world as one of the most prolific talkers of her generation, and combining that with the toned-down style of Phoebe Bridgers is taking the guilt trip voicemail to a new level, said Fantano. Not once do any of Ruths complaints seem forced, and its justifiable that she wants to hear from her oldest son more often. Then when Phoebe comes inits just a punch straight to the guy. I just hope my own mother and Phoebe can also collaborate on a voicemail about how Im a personal disappointment despite my success.

At press time, Mrs. Clifford admitted she would be taking a break from voicemails while she tries to figure out why her television remote is acting so weird.

REPORT: Someones Gotta Tell Mom Thats Not What Fisting Means "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

CHESTERFIELD, Mich. Local siblings recently came to the awkward conclusion that one of them needs to tell their mom fisting means something very different than what she thinks, following an embarrassing social media gaffe.

My mom was at a charity golf event and got to meet some former Tigers pitcher. Only when she bragged about it on Facebook, she told everyone she fisted Justin Thompson, as in fist-bumped him, said oldest daughter Shannon Levine. It was one thing when mom kept calling a conference call between her, myself, and my brother a three-way. Or referring to the strap she uses to hang her glasses from her neck a strap on, but this needs to be stopped. Still, were all dreading having to break it to my sweet, Christian mother that some people enjoy the sensation of a clenched fist invading their anus.

Mom in question, Loretta Levine, gave some insight about her life.

Well, Im a retired school teacher. Sure, I miss it sometimes. Cutting it up with the kids, felching until we cant breathe, which is slang for laughing, so they told me. Now I mostly just stay at home felching with my husband, fingering through my phone, or catching the lunch specials at Guiesppes, which us locals call The G Spot, explained the family matriarch. But the highlight of my week is watching my grandson Aiden. The other day we caught the new Spider-Man. It was so thrilling seeing Tim Holland shoot thick, white ropes all over Michael Keaton.

Digital expert Erica Bridges offers services specializing in training parents to avoid such moments.

While most Baby Boomers are immune to social media embarrassment thanks to a hardy insulation of ignorance and naivety, its their children who really suffer. God forbid a parent share a laughing emoji on a post about a friend of a friends suicide, or mistake Facebook for Google, or worse yet, PornHub, said Bridges. Our goal is to train the technologically impaired ME generation how not to make fools of themselves online. Or if thats not possible, set them up with a dummy Facebook app that cant connect to the internet, so they can instead shout their malapropisms and right wing propaganda into the void.

At press time, the seemingly innocent mother of three casually mentioned her plans to cuck her husband later as decades-long members of their local swingers community.

Unbelievable: My Parents Didnt Listen to a Single Parenting Podcast When They Raised Me "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

I recently discovered something horrifying. My parents didnt listen to a single parenting podcast as they raised me! And as far as I can tell, based on that information, they just kinda winged it!

It does make my childhood make more sense, though. On my first-grade birthday, my mom passed out hand-crafted heart-shaped invitations to my classmates and invited them over for homemade cake. No theme, no color coordinate gift bags, no trampolines. Not even a donkey to pet. Never has a lack of podcast consulting been more apparent. I got stuck with a quaint day of quality time with loving friends and family. Boring!

Speaking of boring, how about my name? Jerry? What a bland snoozefest. Did they panic at the last minute and see an ice cream label? For Gods sake, listen to one baby-naming podcast in nine months. I can think of five cooler names just off the top of my head: Asher, Brycen, Grayson, Daxton, Paxton. Or even Braxton! How cool could I have been if it just had an X in my name?

And how about the food? They fed me nothing but purees as if they skipped every single baby-led weaning episode in their feed. On top of that, they act horrified when I hand my baby an entire avocado. It is a fact that if you dont watch your kid choke a few hundred times before they turn two, they will live in fear of carrots their whole lives.

I bet they gave me formula too. Where were the busybody moms around that could have shamed my mom into breastfeeding? Another neighborhood mom couldnt have managed one shitty comment in the grocery store as she handed me a bottle of formula? Maybe I was just one piece of snarky unsolicited advice away from being a super genius.

Theyre just blessed I turned out as great as I did. Through some stroke of luck, I managed to survive every misstep and live long enough to think of the theme One-derland for my own kids first party.

BRISE Gains 21% In 24 Hours Could This Be A Market Recovery? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

BRISE, the native token of the Bitgert blockchain, has recorded some significant positive price movement in the last 24 hours. Although the BRC-20 token is still trading in the red zone, it appears to be attempting a market recovery following this sudden hike in its market value.

BRISE: Biggest Gainer In Top 200 Coin Roster

According to data by CoinMarketCap, BRISE has soared by 21.44% over the last day, making it the largest gainer among the Top 200 cryptocurrencies in the market, followed closely by the meme season diamond Pepecoin.

This price movement has produced much excitement within the Bitgert community as the BRISE token has been in a bearish state for quite some time, recording significant losses.

Data from CoinMarketCap shows that BRISE had lost 3.09% and 26.07% of its value in the last seven and 30 days, respectively.

BRISE opened its weekly market around a price region of $0.0000003534 and exhibited a steady decline over the next few days before finding support around a market price of $0.0000002759 on May 12.

Thereafter, BRISE began to show signs of consolidation before finally experiencing a price surge yesterday morning to trade as high as $0.0000003781.

Although Bitgerts native token has slipped from such price heights, the decline has been insignificant, and BRISE appears to be gathering momentum for another price breakout.

Interestingly, shortly after the BRC-20 tokens surge, Bitgerts developer team announced a supply burn of 500 billion BRISE tokens, which had drawn more interest to the asset as token burns are usually associated with price rises.

At the time of writing, BRISE is trading at $0.0000003514 with a 0.4% gain in the last hour. The tokens daily trading volume is up 6.99%, valued at $9.71 million. With a circulation supply of 395.68 trillion tokens, Birgets native coin boasts a market cap v...

Tether Holds $3.4 Billion In Gold Reserves, Nears ATH Market Cap 1 Year Post Terra Collapse "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Tether (USDT), the worlds largest stablecoin by market capitalization, was one of the dollar-pegged cryptocurrencies to have been affected by the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. Now a year later, the stablecoin has reclaimed its stable dollar peg and boasts one of the deepest reserves in the cryptocurrency industry.

Prominent Crypto Figure Dubs Tether A Precious Metals Powerhouse

Gabor Gurbacs, on Friday, May 12, provided an insight into the significance of precious metals to Tethers financial setup. Interestingly, Gurbacs, the founder of PointsVille, dubbed Tethers USDT a precious metals powerhouse.

According to Gurbacs tweet, Tether Holdings Limited, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has placed substantial importance on gold, forging a solid reputation in the industry. His tweet also reveals that USDT, the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has a staggering sum of roughly $3.4 billion in reserves held in gold.

In the same breath, Gurbacs noted that approximately $500 million backs the circulating supply of Tether Gold (XAUT), Tethers gold-pegged stablecoin. Furthermore, the amount of gold in Tether reserves far outweighs that of Bitcoin (BTC), which stands at about $1.5 billion.

From Gubarcs perspective, the diversity of the USDT reserves which consists of gold, cash, corporate bonds, BTC, etc. helps protect the stablecoin against potential market collapses and unexpected negative events. Considering his advisory role within the firm, it may be fair to consider Gubarcs analysis of Tethers financial strategy as an insider viewpoint.

Terra Collapse One Year Later

In one of the most catastrophic events in the crypto industry, the Terra ecosystem collapsed in May 2022, with its UST stablecoin losing its dollar peg. The ripple effect saw investors lose faith in most dollar-backed assets, including Tether USD. This caused the panic sale of these dollar-backed assets.

As a result, Tethers dollar peg broke momentarily, with the token falling as low as 92 cents at times. Furthermore, two months after the Terra collapse, Tethers market capitalization ha...

BRC-20 Tokens Lose 40% Market Cap In 7 Days Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The crypto market has been looking to consolidate following a major price correction earlier in the week. One market that has felt the brunt of this correction is BRC-20 token which has suffered a major dip in its market cap.

According to brc-20.io, which tracks the nascent market for tokens minted on the Bitcoin blockchain, the market cap of all BRC-20 tokens between May 8 and 11 went from $990,000,000 to $379,000,000, a 62% drop. At the time of writing, the market cap of BRC-20 tokens has rebounded and is around $570,000,000, making it a 40% dip within the seven-day trading period.

The BRC-20 market is largely tied to the capitalization of ORDI token, which dominates more than 80% of the trading volumes. At the time of writing, it is currently trading around $15, down from its all-time high price of $28, achieved earlier in the month. The importance of ORDI in this market means that price variations directly and considerably affect the market cap of BRC-20 tokens.

Ordi tokens dominates with more tha 80% of the BRC-20 MarketCap

A Deep Dive Into BRC-20 Token

BRC-20 is an experimental standard for issuing and transferring fungible tokens on the Bitcoin network. The deployment, issuance, and transfer of these tokens is done via a JSON data entry. Hence its relationship with the NFT Ordinals of Bitcoin.

The creation of this standard is credited to a developer known as Domo on Twitter. On March 8, the computer scientist announced his progress in this area and acknowledged that it would be difficult for him to take this test further. For this reason, he preferred to share the project with others to experiment with. Since then, the ecosystem has exploded, with more than 14.000 tokens launched, according to brc-20.io.

Although the name BRC-20 is a reference to Ethereums ERC-20 standard. However, both standards differ in several of their characteristics, especially due...

5 REAL Reasons Narcissists Break Up With You "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Relationships with narcissistic individuals can be tumultuous and challenging, leaving their partners feeling confused, hurt, and questioning the reasons behind the breakup. While narcissists may employ various manipulative tactics and display self-centered behaviors, their decision to end a relationship is often driven by underlying motivations. In this article, we will uncover the genuine reasons narcissists break up with their partners, shedding light on their true intentions and providing insight into this complex dynamic.

  1. Loss of Narcissistic Supply

Narcissists thrive on admiration, validation, and attention from others, known as narcissistic supply. Initially, partners may fulfill this need by idealizing the narcissist and showering them with praise. However, as the relationship progresses, partners may start recognizing the narcissists manipulative tendencies and setting boundaries. This loss of unwavering adoration threatens the narcissists fragile ego, prompting them to seek alternative sources of supply. Consequently, they may end the relationship to find new targets who can fulfill their insatiable need for validation.

  1. Fear of Exposure

Narcissists meticulously construct a facade of grandiosity and perfection to maintain their self-image. When partners begin to see through this facade and challenge their false narratives, the narcissist faces a significant threat to their carefully crafted image. Fear of exposure and vulnerability can drive them to abruptly end the relationship to protect their inflated self-image from being shattered. By preemptively severing ties, narcissists attempt to regain control and avoid the potential damage caused by the partners increasing awareness of their true nature.

  1. Loss of Control

Narcissists have an insatiable desire for control and dominance in their relationships. As partners gain insights into their manipulative tactics and reclaim their autonomy, narcissists feel their control slipping away. The loss of power can trigger feelings of insecurity and frustration in the narcissist, leading them to terminate the relationship before they lose complete control over their partners thoughts, actions, and emotions. Breaking up allows them to maintain a sense of superiority and control by exerting dominance over the situation.

  1. Devaluation and Discarding Cycle

Narcissists frequently engage in a toxic pattern known as the devaluation and discarding cycle. Initially, they idealize their partners, showering them with affection and attention. However, over time, they devalue their partners, criticizing, belittling, and emotionally manipulating them. The devaluation stage erodes the partners self-esteem and emotional well-being. Eventually, when the partner is emotionally depleted and vulnerable, th...

  • 2 TBL duck fat (or additional bacon fat)
  • 5 TBL  butter room temp
  • 2 TBL goat butter room temp
  • 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 tsp balsamic vinegar (or 2 tsp if a reduced balsamic)
  • 4 tsp fresh rosemary chopped  (or 3 tsp dried)
  • 1.5 tsp garlic powder (or 5-6  tsp minced fresh garlic)
  • 1.5 tsp nutmeg
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp mineral rich sea salt (Baja Gold, Redmond Real Salt, Celtic)
  • 1/3 tsp ground pepper
  • All ingredients are recommended to be organic. If this is not possible, the most important ingredient to be sure that you consider high quality, is the liver.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Saute bacon in a large skillet or pan, over medium heat. When done, scoop bacon out with a slotted spoon. Set it aside.
  2. Add onions to the pan and saute.
*Bacon produces a varying amount of fat per type and batch. If there is not enough bacon fat in the pan to keep the onions coated, so as to keep them from drying out or sticking, then add the duck fat.
  3. If using fresh garlic: add and saute when the onions are nearly cooked through, being careful not to let it burn.
  4. Add the cut pieces of liver. Stir together. Let the liver cook, stirring occasionally, until it is lightly cooked through. This will only take a couple of minutes.
  5. Transfer onions, liver and bacon to a large bowl or keep in the same pan/pot if the sides are high enough to use with an immersion blender.
  6. Add the butter(s). Stir....

The Smarter You Are, The More Likely You Are To Be Single "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The realm of romantic relationships is diverse and complex, with a myriad of factors influencing the choices and experiences of individuals seeking companionship. One intriguing pattern that has emerged in recent research is the correlation between intelligence and being single. Several studies suggest that individuals with higher intelligence levels are more likely to remain single. In this article, we delve into this fascinating phenomenon, examining potential reasons behind the connection between intelligence and singleness.

  1. High Standards and Selectivity

One plausible explanation for the correlation between intelligence and being single is the presence of high standards and selectivity. Intelligent individuals often possess a strong sense of self-awareness and know precisely what they desire in a partner. They may have a clear understanding of their own needs, goals, and values, and seek a compatible match who can engage them intellectually. As a result, they may be more selective in their choice of partners, leading to a prolonged period of singleness while waiting for the right match.

  1. Pursuit of Personal and Professional Goals

Intelligent individuals tend to be driven and focused on personal and professional development. They may prioritize their career aspirations, educational pursuits, or personal growth, dedicating substantial time and effort to these endeavors. This pursuit of individual goals and self-actualization may inadvertently delay or limit the availability for committed relationships. Intelligent individuals may opt to invest their time in personal achievements before seeking a long-term partnership.

  1. Challenging Interpersonal Dynamics

Intelligence often comes hand in hand with analytical thinking, a preference for intellectual discussions, and a thirst for knowledge. While these qualities can be appealing to some, they may pose challenges in establishing and maintaining romantic relationships. Highly intelligent individuals may find it difficult to connect on a deep emotional level or relate to partners who do not share their intellectual interests. This can create a sense of isolation or limited compatibility, leading to prolonged periods of singleness.

  1. Social Stigma and Misconceptions

There can be societal stigmas and misconceptions surrounding highly intelligent individuals when it comes to relationships. Some may perceive intelligent individuals as socially awkward, lacking in emotional intelligence, or overly focused on their intellectual pursuits. These stereotypes can create barriers and hinder relationship prospects. Additionally, highly intelligent individuals may face challenges in finding partners who appreciate and embrace their intelligence, leading to a higher likelihood of being single.

Makes You Age Faster, Even if You Look OK Now "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Editor's Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published December 23, 2018.

In this interview, Bruce Ames, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California Berkeley, currently senior scientist at the Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute, discusses the importance of vitamins and minerals for longevity and explains his "triage theory" of nutrients.

Ames was born two weeks after my dad, who passed away earlier this year, so he is 90 years old. He developed the famous and widely used Ames test, which tests the mutagenicity of compounds. In recent years, he's shifted from his work in mutagenicity to focusing on nutrition for healthy aging. He recently published a paper1 in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on this topic.

Disease Prevention Not the Same as Longevity Optimization

In that paper, he proposes the recommended level of many vitamins may be insufficient for longevity. In other words, the levels required to diminish disease may not be the same as the levels required to optimize longevity. Ames explains:

"In 2006, I was getting interested in vitamins. I worked on mitochondria, which are the organelles in the cell that make all your adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the high-energy molecule that drives your metabolism. But one of the side effects is it bleeds out oxidants. Oxidants are mutagenic. They can damage DNA.

They can damage protein and other molecules, just like radiation. Some of the same oxidants that come from radiation also come from your own aging mitochondria. It decays with age. Anyway, I was thinking, If vitamin C and vitamin E do all those good things, I wonder about the other vitamins.'

I started thinking about it, and it occurred to me that the body is becoming deficient in vitamins all the time, because people dont eat balanced diets. They fill themselves up with sugary soft drinks and empty carbohydrates, which dont have any vitamins.

You need 30 different vitamins and minerals Your body cannot make minerals. You have to get them from your diet. The same thing with vitamins."

In 2006, he published a purely theoretical paper2 in which he postulated that when a cell becomes short on a vitamin, it starts to ration it, favoring protein enzymes essential for immediate survival over those that help prevent long-term diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

Reverse Engineering the Propaganda Machine "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this interview, Michelle Stiles reviews some of the basic tools of propaganda, which is the topic of her book, One Idea to Rule Them All: Reverse Engineering American Propaganda. Its a pertinent and apt topic in light of what's been going on over the last few years, as we attempt to understand how we've been manipulated and brainwashed.

If you can understand that, then you can prevent it from happening again in the future, and you can help other people to break free from the indoctrination as well. Stiles includes the following quote from George Orwell in the book:

"In the age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

Thats really our battle today, as we fight against a truly unprecedented disinformation campaign, where the liars are claiming that everyone else is giving out misinformation, basically turning truth on its head.

Most of you are aware that I was given top billing on the Center for Countering Digital Hates (CCDH) disinformation dozen list, which is a true testament to the credibility Ive built over the past 25 years. They see me as a real threat to their propaganda machine, and its no small honor to be recognized as someone whos telling the truth in this age of misinformation.

Legacy Media Were Never Deserving of Our Trust

While propaganda takes many forms, mainstream media play a crucial role. Many people my age would agree that we used to believe the media were a trusted source of information. But no more. Investigative journalism within mainstream media doesnt exist anymore. Theyre all just talking heads, reading from scripts, which is why they all sound the same, even reiterating the same sentences verbatim.

The good news is that people are starting to catch on, and trust in mainstream media has dropped to an all-time low. In her book, Stiles presents the historical view of media, and how its changed over time. By the early 1900s literally a century ago journalists like Upton Sinclair and George Seldes were discussing the corruption of the media, how they were owned by big business with a profit agenda, and how they were not dealing squarely with investigative reporters.

They were trying to tell as many people as they could, but they couldn't get it out there, Stiles says. And then, journalists, they were created through the schools. We had to have a degree to get into it. So now you're sort of captive. You can't really blow the whistle without blowing up your career. So that impacts it because nobody can tell the truth. And if you do come out, it's a long road to getting your own reputation set up and your ow...

James Corbett on Technocratic Control and the Dangers of AI "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this video, I interview investigative journalist James Corbett about false narratives, the global takeover by technocracy, controlled opposition and the dangers of artificial intelligence, as well as the solutions to these and other challenges.

Corbetts journalism career began in the aftermath of 9/11, when he became overwhelmed to discover that we are constantly lied to through the mainstream media. 9/11 was his red pill moment, and he hasnt stopped digging for the truth since.

The discrepancy between the things that I was finding online versus what was being reported on the evening news just started getting wider and wider, he says, to the point where I felt that ... I had to insert myself in that conversation. So that's the reason we're talking today.

In 2007, Corbett launched his website, CorbettReport.com. One of his hallmarks, both in his documentaries and regular reports, is impeccable citations of sources.

I always put up the transcript with the hyperlinks to the source documents for every single quotation, every video clip, everything that I'm playing, he says. I want to direct people back to the source material so that they can research it for themselves.

I know, as a researcher myself who does this for a living, that's incredibly valuable. I very much appreciate it when other people do it, so I'm trying to set that example in the alternative media.

Can the Global Takeover Be Derailed?

Corbett is also featured on Good Morning CHD with Dr. Meryl Nass once a month, an online news show by Childrens Health Defense.

It's a valuable way, for both of us, to continue keeping our eye on the ball of the World Health Organization and its latest machinations ... of the global pandemic treaty and the international health regulations (IHR) amendments that they're working on right now, which really could be the hardwiring of the biosurveillance infrastructure, Corbett says.

When asked whether he believes the pandemic treaty and/or the IHR amendments can be stopped, Corbett replies:

Well, they are planning on unleashing the global pandemic treaty on the world at the World Health Assembly (WHA) next year, May of 2024. And preparatory to that, they're going to be holding a World Health Assembly this month, at which they'll be talking about the draft of the treaty and the draft of the IHR amendments and other such developments.

Google Introduces Plan to Use Generative AI to Take Over the Internet AIs Real Threat to Society "IndyWatch Feed Health"

by Brian Shilhavy
Editor, Health Impact News

Google announced its new plans for AI this week at their annual I/O developer conference, and to say that not everyone in the Tech Industry was thrilled by their plans to integrate Generative AI into their search engine, would be an understatement.

Emily Dreibelbis, writing for PC Magazine, published one of the more apocalyptic articles warning that Google could basically destroy most websites on the Internet.

Why Googles New ChatGPT-Style Search Could Kill the Websites That Feed It

Google just previewed its chatbot-style vision for the future of web search results. But if it mines publications hard work without compensating them, many may not survive this shift.

The typical PCMag product reviewers home is a web of wires and blinking LEDs from laptops, smartwatches, and scores of other gadgets. Analysts spend weeks performing hands-on testing to produce in-depth buying guides that help readers get the most from technology.

But what if that wealth of content is reduced to grist for a bigger mill? Googles new AI search experience pushes links to articles below the digital fold, summarizing the response to a search query up top as a conversational, ChatGPT-style paragraph. Content in the answer, a mini-article in itself, can theoretically come from PCMag and a host of other publications.

To start, this AI experience will only apply to searches for which Google algorithms can produce helpful results, The Verge reports. But its unclear how many searches that will cover, and whether Google will compensate or cite its sources. The company has said only that its committed to continue sending valuable traffic to sites across the web.

Writers watching a live demo of the new experience at Googles I/O conference found it chilling. Did Google receive that e-bike and set it up? asks Angela Moscaritolo, PCMags health and fitness expert. She reviewed the Aventon Aventure Ebike, which the demo suggested for commuters as good for hi...

PEPE, DOGE, SHIB See Fierce Competition From New FETH Token "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The meme coin space has long been dominated by the likes of DOGE, SHIB, and PEPE, but now a new entrant into the space has signaled a shift in the market. ETH Furbo (FETH) is an Ethereum-based token that gives PEPE reflections to all holders regardless of how much they hold. This means that while investors are earning significant returns on their FETH holdings, theyre also earning PEPE which means they are getting double the profits.

FETH Announces Presale Date

In its grand entrance into the crypto market, the FETH team has announced its presale date. The presale is scheduled to hold on Monday, May 15th, at 5 PM UTC and the page is currently live on Pinksale. This will give investors the first chance to get into the FETH token at the lowest price possible.

Presales are important to new projects such as ETH Furbo an avenue to raise funds to provide liquidity and promotions for their token while giving investors an opportunity to buy the coins for a low price. This is because upon listing, tokens debut on the market at much higher prices, bringing presale investors good profits.

The total supply of FETH is 1,000,000,000,000 tokens and 56% of the total supply will be available for presale. 31.92% of the tokens will go toward the liquidity pool, 6.08% of the supply will be held for centralized exchange listings and liquidity for...

To Motherhood, With Love "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Mother mug
By Cathy Jameson

Photo: A gift from my husband - received on Mothers Day, 2001, while pregnant with my oldest.

Many of my friends started their families long before I did.  I loved watching them welcome new life into their homes and wanted so much to have a family of my own as well.  All my life Ive wanted to be a mom.  In 2001, my wish came true.  My first baby arrived.

Labor started Tuesday evening.  It ended Thursday afternoon.  To describe my labor experience as being long is inaccurate.  It was excruciating.  But like other mothers say, eventually you forget about the nerves, the anxiety, and that excruciating pain.

All of that is quickly replaced by a new emotion:  pure love.

Those other mothers were right.  I instantly fell in love with my little girl.  She and I would spend all day together.  Sometimes we would spend all night together, too.  Not the best sleeper in the world, I had to learn how to soothe a fussy newborn who had some nursing issues.  Without a good latch, I learned, my baby wasnt getting a good feeding.  She struggled.  I struggled.  She was tired.  I was tired.  It was frustrating.  And painful!

But, within a few weeks, we finally both got the hang of it.

Before giving birth, I had been teaching full time.  I taught for many years and enjoyed every minute of it.  After the baby arrived, I was fortunate to not have to go back to work.  Grateful to have extra time, I eased into motherhood with my daughter.

Life as a full-time mom was completely different, but it was a good different.  Each day was mine to plan.  Each moment was ours to create.  My daughter and I spent a lot of time in our small apartment during her first few months of life, but eventually we ventured out.  We went into town to do errands in the morning.  We strolled around the neighborhood in the afternoon.  Some days, wed meet my husband for lunch.  Wed sometimes plan meetups with friends, too.  When we didnt go out, I read, and the baby played with her baby toys.  Then we napped.

I loved being a Mom and couldnt remember what life was like before having a baby.  Im Mom to five babies now.  Theyre not wee anymore, but theyll always be...

Tucker Carlson dead at 53 "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

FLORIDA Fans mourn the loss of Tucker Carlson, political commentator and beloved voice of Conservative America.

Carlson was found dead in his bed Saturday morning from an alleged brain aneurysm and is survived by his wife Susan and his four children. Boca Grande Police investigators said there were no signs of foul play but that all possibilities, including the use of microwave weapons, were being pursued.

The tragic death of Carlson comes just weeks after his firing from Fox News, where he spearheaded the networks opinion and commentary with a powerful spin that critics often derided as conspiracy theory.

In the wake of his firing, Carlson promised a return to showbiz, continuing his show with two short videos posted on Twitter, criticizing the news media for ignoring the truly important issues of the day.

Longtime Tucker Carlson fan Dale Gallihan told reporters, This goes to show how naive we were to think Tucker could have gotten away with it so easy. Hes up against the deep state, lizards who are more ruthless and powerful than even he could imagine.

Veteran reporter and analyst Vic Livingstone, author of Slowkill Genocide, wrote Tucker was going to end legacy media with his new Twitter show and I think Rupert Murdoch called in his microwave assassination team, it was a fullkill Havana Syndrome. The new weapons can penetrate even the most carefully wrought Faraday cages, so even the elites are not safe.

Disturbing Research Warns AI May Wipe Out Human Civilization "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Advanced artificial intelligence (AI) could behave as a second intelligent species on this planet in the coming years. Research shows that it could also be the Great Filter that wipes out all human civilizations.

Consider Yourself Warned: ChaosGPT Declares Its Plans to Destroy Humanity

AI could be the answer to the Fermi paradox, with the potential to wipe out intelligent life in the universe before it can make contact with others, suggested the yet-to-be peer-reviewed study, posted in the arXiv preprint server. The Fermi Paradox, captured popularly by the phrase Where is everybody?, has puzzled scientists for decades, according to a report by The Independent.

Probability calculations, such as the popular Drake Equation, suggest there could be a number of intelligent civilizations in the galaxy, but as of yet, extraterrestrial intelligent life has not made itself readily known to humans.

One popular hypothesis to explain this phenomenon is known as the Great Filter. It suggests that some event that is required for the emergence of intelligent life is extremely unlikely, hence the cosmic silence.

A logical equivalent of this theory is that some catastrophic cosmic phenomenon is likely preventing lifes expansion throughout the universe. This could be a naturally occurring event, or more disconcertingly, something that intelligent beings do to themselves that leads to their own extinction, wrote study author Dr. Mark Bailey from the National Intelligence University (NIU) in the United States.

The new research theorized that AI advancement may be the exact kind of catastrophic risk event that could potentially wipe out entire civilizations.

In the study, Dr. Bailey frames the context of the Great Filter within the potential long-term risk of technologies like AI that we dont fully understand.

I want to repower my woodchipper with a little bit more powerful engine. It's got a 6.5hp that can be a bit slow.
If I add a second chipper blade and wanted it to turn a 1.5 inch stick into chips without barely slowing down I would need about a 20 to 27hp engine. Those 20 to 27hp engines are a lot of coin and that much power is a bit over kill. I think I'm just going to go smaller save a small pile of money and get most of what I need.
Either way I'll need to belt drive the wood chipper...

Original Illustrations From Charles Dickens Novels

Illustration from Great Expectations

Few authors are as world-renowned as Charles Dickens. From Oliver Twist to A Tale of Two Cities, the 19th-century writer produced some of the most acclaimed novels that are still widely read and studied today. And while his work is now enjoyed in book form, it's not how his stories were appreciated during the Victorian era. Instead, Dickens' works were published in serialized installments, ranging from weekly to monthly. Accompanying his stories were detailed illustrations.

The Charles Dickens Illustrated Gallery has archived all of the original images featured in Dickens' work throughout his creative career. Dr. Michael John Goodman, who is also the creator of the Victorian Illustrated Shakespeare Archive, had the idea to digitize the art from Dickens' novels during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The world of Dickens illustration is beset with poor reproductions of the source material, so for this project, I have searched out what I consider to be some of the best editions that feature the original illustrations printed to a decent quality, Goodman explains. After collecting and scanning the images, he even cleaned them up in Photoshop, so that they look as crisp as possible.

Dickens collaborated with several illustrators during his lifetime, each with a distinctive style that complemented the story at hand. Instead of showcasing these works of art with Dickens' text, Goodman chose to display each image on its own so it can be appreciated.

In many ways, it is a call-back to the print shops and galleries of the 19th century, where illustrated prints would often be placed in the windows of these establishments, tempting potential...

Dogecoin Traders Watch For A Breakout On Higher-Than-Average Volume "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Dogecoin (DOGE) has been one of the most talked-about cryptocurrencies of 2021, thanks to the involvement of high-profile figures like Elon Musk and Mark Cuban. Its value skyrocketed earlier this year, but has since retreated.

As investors and traders keep a close eye on its movements, the next potential catalyst for Dogecoin could be a decisive breakout on higher-than-average trading volume.

Lets examine the current state of Dogecoin, what traders are looking for in terms of a breakout, and what the future may hold for this popular meme coin.

Dogecoin (DOGE) Recent Performance And Price Action

On Wednesday, Dogecoins downtrend was confirmed as the cryptocurrency hit a lower high of $0.074 and formed a lower low at the 7-cent mark on Monday. As of Fridays 24-hour trading session, Dogecoin was attempting to print an inside bar pattern, indicating a potential bearish trend

Traders should monitor the cryptos movement and volume to assess its future direction, especially if it breaks up or down from Thursdays mother bar.

At the time of writing, Dogecoins price on CoinGecko was 0.072436, showing a 3.0% 24-hour rally. However, the last seven days have been challenging for the meme-inspired cryptocurrency, with a significant slump of 9.0%.

Despite the recent decline, theres a chance that Dogecoins local bottom has occurred as it was working to print a hammer candlestick on Friday. This candlestick pattern suggests that the cryptocurrencys downward momentum may have come to a halt, but it remains to be seen whether it can sustain an upward trend in the coming days.

Potential Catalyst For Dogecoins Recent Rally

Dogecoins recent 24-hour rally may have been influenced by the recent events on Twitter, which have been previously spearheaded by Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed Dogefather.

However, he has now handed the leadership to Linda Yaccarino, NBCUniversals advertising chief, who appears to share Musks enthusiasm for meme coins.

Yaccarinos interest in Dogecoin and Shiba Inu is evident from the fact that she follows multiple affiliated accounts on Twitter, including the primary ones for both cryptocurrencies.

However, her views on key issues related to cryptocurrencies, particularly their potential role on social media platforms, remain largely unknown, despite her active presence...

The Paradox of Free Will "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The neuroscience, physics, and philosophy of freedom in a universe of fixed laws.

Nothing is more unbearable, once one has it, than freedom, James Baldwin observed in recognizing how limited our freedom is and how illusory our choices, for he knew that people cant, unhappily, invent their mooring posts, their lovers and their friends, anymore than they can invent their parents.

And yet we move through the world with an air of agency, without which life would feel unlivable a gauntlet of causality stretching all the way back to the Big Bang, into which we are hurled as helpless pawns in some cosmic game that has already played out. It is a disquieting notion one we have countered with our dream of free will, continually mistaking the feeling of freedom for the fact of freedom.

But even within the presets and parameters conferred upon us by the cosmic and cultural forces that made us, there exists a margin of movement in which notions like control, agency, and moral responsibility live. In that margin, we become fully human.

In this fascinating BBC documentary, journalist Melissa Hogenboom and a constellation of neuroscientists, physicists, and philosophers explore the science and subtleties of the free will question a question that remains not only unanswered but a testament to Hannah Arendts astute observation that to lose the appetite for meaning we call thinking and cease to ask unanswerable questions [would be to lose] the capacity to ask all the answerable questions upon which every civilization is founded.
