Is Pepe Coin Ready For Another Pump? Heres What On-Chain Data Says "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Heres what the different on-chain indicators from Santiment have to say about whether Pepe Coin could see another pump soon or not.

The Memecoins On-Chain Metrics Have Been Down Since The Top

PEPE has been one of the hottest topics around the cryptocurrency market recently, thanks to the explosive growth that the meme coin has enjoyed. Between the end of last month and the 5th of May, the coin saw its price rise by an extraordinary 1,200%.

The uptrend, however, ended there and the cryptocurrency has been sharply plunging since then. According to Santiment, the on-chain analytics firms social dominance indicator signaled this top in advance.

Social dominance tells us what percentage of the discussions happening on social media related to the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap are talking about a given coin.

As the below chart shows, Pepes social dominance rose to very high values just before the top took form earlier in the month.

Pepe Coin Social Dominance

Whenever social dominance hits high levels, its a sign of euphoria among investors, which is something that has historically led to top formations for cryptocurrencies.

Santiment notes that the indicator still has a value of about 5%, meaning that 5% of all discussions related to the top 100 assets involve the meme coin currently.

Seeing it get down to the 1-2% range would be a good sign that traders are beginning to stray away and look for pumps from other altcoins, the firm explains.

The active addresses metric, which measures the total number of unique addresses taking part in some transaction activity on the blockchain, also saw a spike just before the top.

Pepe Active Addresses

When this indicator has a high value, it means a large number of investors are making trades right now. The price generally becomes more likely to get volatile when the metric shows such a trend.

From the chart, its visi...

Online Archive Provides Free Coloring Book Pages From Over 100 Libraries and Museums

Free Coloring Book Pages by Color Our Collections

If you're ever looking for a way to relax, coloring is considered one of the best methods. While most of us remember filling in coloring books as children, this is a hobby you can continue into adulthood as well. Color Our Collections is offering more opportunities to use your colored pencils and other art supplies. Since 2016, this campaign initiated by The New York Academy of Medicine Library collects coloring pages from over 100 cultural institutions from across the globe and makes them free to download online.

The illustrations from Color Our Collections differ from books you would ordinarily buy in the store. Ranging from floral drawings to depictions of fairies, these designs are rich in history. Some are plucked from vintage advertising, while others are acquired from old novels. Since most of these artworks were not meant to be colored in, they offer a fun challenge for those up to the task.

While some of these pieces feature plenty of space to layer different shades, others require a bit more creative thinking. But the best part of participating in the campaign is getting a chance to explore some of the old artwork from these museums and libraries by bringing them to life in color.

Scroll down to see more coloring pages from the 2023 campaign, and check out all of the available art via Color Our Collections website.

The Reviews Review: Emma Bovary at the Opera "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Lucie de Lammermoore. Victor Coindre, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

My first memory of opera is Bugs Bunny or maybe The Pink Panther Show: those Saturday-morning cartoons where the fat lady sings and shatters a glass. Much later I began to date a man who had been to hundreds of opera performances (a fact I found not only shocking but literally unbelievable) and so I went from watching no operas to almost one a month. The one Ive enjoyed the most by far was the Mets spring 2022 production of Gaetano Donizettis Lucia di Lammermoor, staged in a town in the depressed Rust Belt. I had already read about Lucia: its the opera that inspires Emma Bovary to cheat on her husband (again, and more dramatically). And yet I didnt know anything about its plot, because Flaubert doesnt describe it; the opera serves merely to connect Emma to her younger self, the pretty country girl who had had bigger dreams than a failure of a husband and a cad of an (ex-)lover. At the opera, Flaubert writes, dinsaissibles penses come over her: elusive thoughts, uncapturable thoughts, incomprehensible thoughts. Whats coming over her is fantasy.

Nabokov said about Emma Bovary that she was the quintessential bad reader, the one who reads emotionally, in a shallow juvenile manner, putting herself in this or that female characters place: above all, in the place of Lucia di Lammermoor, the tragic sister of a warlord, kept from the man she loves, who slaughters her husband on their wedding night in a crazed delirium and herself dies. But to read Madame Bovary as purely reprobative seems to me cold to the point of insanity; as Flaubert said, of co...

Frenzied Emotions Swirl Through Changyu Zous Poetry-Inspired Illustrations "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A figure is surrounded by a chaotic cluster of birds, cars, houses, and other symbols

Starry Bird 7. All images Changyu Zou, shared with permission

Tinged with magic and metaphor, the energetic illustrations by Savannah-based Chinese artist Changyu Zou are emotionally candid and reflect her reactions to verse. I think poetry uses the most beautiful words to express whats most real in the poets heart. Although these words sometimes are very abstract and not easy to understand, they can give me unlimited imagination, she says, sharing that she tends to pull a few terms or phrases from a poem and then use those as the basis for her drawings.

Zou strives for an interplay between the original text and her visual language, which often relies on a feverish mishmash of figures and symbols. The mixed-media illustrationsshe works with both digital and analog materials, including gouache, acrylics, crayons, colored pencils, and sometimes collaged detailsdraw directly from the Misty Poets, a tradition that emerged in defiance of the restrictive Cultural Revolution of 20th-century China and is characterized by its obscure haziness. This mysterious and indeterminate quality arises in Zous works as birds, human hands, cars, houses, and other objects appear to whirl in chaotic motion.

In addition to the Misty Poets, the illustrator mentions Kahlil Gibran, Haizi, and Rabindranath Tagore as influences. One line of Tagores Starry Bird reads light in my heart the evening star of rest and then let the night whisper to me of love and inspired Zous series by the same name. Because Tagores poetry expresses the harmony of...

Faust and the Risk of Desire "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Faust and Mephistopheles. Painting by Anton Kaulbach, Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons.

I first discovered opera in 1991, when my tenth-grade English teacher killed a couple of class periods by showing the movie Amadeus. The bits it contained of The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni were seductive enough to send me to the nearest outpost of the Wherehouse, a California record-store chain, where the classical and opera section was an afterthought. When I compare it to the contemporary infinity of Spotify, however, the limited selection now seems a kind of blessing: with so little to choose from, it was impossible to feel overwhelmed.

It was also an advantage not to have anyone telling me which operas were great and which were pass. Not until much later, for instance, would I learn that by the nineties, Gounods Faust was already a century past its prime. It debuted in Paris in 1859 and quickly became a worldwide hit, especially in the U.S., where it was chosen to inaugurate the newly founded Metropolitan Opera in 1883. But in time, Fausts blockbuster status made it a byword for middlebrow entertainment, a bit like The Phantom of the Opera today. When Edith Wharton set the first chapter of The Age of Innocence at a performance of Faust, it was a way of critiquing the provincialism of 1870s New York from the vantage point of 1920. For instance, Wharton pokes fun at the fact that the opera, originally written in French, is sung in Italian, the language Americans were used to hearing in the opera house at the time.

The novel opens with the main characters watching the passionate love duet at the end of act 3, in which Marguerite, a virtuous young woman, is seduced by Faust, a middle-aged scholar who has sold his soul to the devil. As he begs to caress your beauty, she plays a game of he loves me, he loves me not, picking petals off a flower. It is a sign of Marguerites childlike innocence but also of...

5,400-Year-Old Great Grandfather Cypress Tree May Be Oldest in World "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

5,400-Year-Old Great Grandfather Cypress Tree May Be Oldest in World

Embed from Getty Images

Trees are living history. These witnesses to time include an ancient olive tree at Vouves on the island of Crete which watched empires rise and fall, and Methuselah the twisted 4,800-year-old California bristlecone pine whose seed sprouted before the construction of the Egyptian pyramids. Now, scientists have discovered a Patagonia cypress tree in Chile known as Great Grandfather or Alerce Milenario is even older. Recent analysis of a segment of tree rings shows the giant is an estimated 5,484 years oldlikely taking the award for oldest living tree.

Deep in the Chilean forest about 500 miles south of Santiago, the cypress tree stands amid dense foliage, sheltered from the elements in a ravine. A member of the Fitzroya cupressoides species, the magnificent tree is 13 feet in diameter and 92 feet tall. Moss flourishes on its surface and smaller trees have even taken root in its cracks. It's a survivor, there are no others that have had the opportunity to live so long, Antonio Lara of Austral University and Chile's center for climate science and resilience, noted to AFP. With her colleague Jonathan Barichivich of the Parisian Climate and Environmental Science Laboratory, she took a sample of the core (interior wood) of the tree using a thin borer to not harm the ancient creature.

The team counted 2,400 growth rings in the section of core. However, they were not even able to reach the center of the enormous tree. Therefore, they turned to a computer model to complete the ring count. By comparing to other alerce trees and taking into account what they know about variables affecting tree growth, they came to an 80% confidence estimate that Great Grandfather is over 5,000 years old. This makes him older than Methuselah, the former record holder. This discovery is exciting, as ancient trees contain a lot of records of climate change over he millenn...

Key Support Levels To Monitor As Ethereum Price Slows Down "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Ethereum price consolidation weakened as the bulls lost momentum, resulting in a nearly 4% loss in the last 24 hours and a 7% decline on the weekly chart. The technical analysis indicates considerable bearish pressure.

The coins value remained stagnant at around $1,800, leading to waning interest from buyers and a significant decrease in demand and accumulation. As Bitcoin dropped below $26,000, major altcoins also experienced significant declines on their daily charts.

To break its resistance, Ethereum requires substantial buyer participation, as failure to do so could lead to the loss of a crucial support level.

Additionally, Bitcoin must recover and reach the $27,000 zone to initiate a short-term recovery for ETH. The declining market capitalization of Ethereum suggests a gradual departure of buyers from the market.

Ethereum Price Analysis: One-Day Chart

Ethereum

At the time of writing, ETH was priced at $1,770. After struggling around the $1,800 range, selling pressure eventually took over. The coins resistance levels were identified at $1,798 and $1,821. Conversely, if the price continues to decline, the bulls will attempt to defend ETH at $1,740.

However, a failure to hold above $1,740 would push Ethereum down to $1,690. A further drop would breach the $1,540 support line. Additionally, the recent session saw a significant increase in selling strength, reflected by the red volume of Ethereum traded.

Total Liquidation Surpasses $140 Million As Bitcoin (BTC) Continues Downtrend "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The crypto market experienced a significant downturn over the past 24 hours, leading to a total liquidation of over $140 million as Bitcoin (BTC) continues its downtrend. According to data from Coinglass, a record of approximately 57,585 traders have been liquidated, and the total value is still counting.

Notably, traders that are currently experiencing major losses with the overall downward trend of the crypto market are those who have taken long positions, speculating that the market will eventually trend upwards.

Largest Liquidations On OKX And Binance

Digital asset exchanges OKX and Binance recorded the largest amount of liquidations, accounting for $48.3 million and $44.94 million, respectively. The data further reveals that long liquidations amounted to approximately $114.8 million of the total liquidations, whereas short liquidations were $29.8 million.

Long liquidations accounted for 79.39% of the total liquidations in the past 24 hours while short liquidation accounted for 25.96%. Bitcoin (BTC) was the most affected cryptocurrency, accounting for $50.97 million of the total liquidation.

Altcoins such as Ethereum (ETH) closely followed, with $30.29 million in liquidations, while the frog-themed meme coin PEPE accounted for over $7 million. Meanwhile, the largest single liquidation occurred on OKX with a BTC-USDT swap valued at $2.61 million.

It is worth noting these figures confirm that the ongoing market downturn is affecting both long and short positions.

Bitcoin And PEPE Plunges

The global crypto market cap has also slumped below the $1.2 trillion mark with a value of $1.14 trillion at the time of writing, down by nearly 2.5% in the last 24 hours.

This decline follows the plummet from Bitcoin and the recently hyped memecoin PEPE which plunged over 20% in the past 24 hours with more than $100 million subtracted from its market capitalization.

Interestingly, PEPEs trading volume has surged in the past 24 hours indicating a possible violent sell-off. Its daily trading volume has moved from $408 million as of yesterday to $647 million in the last 24 hours.

Top crypto Bitcoin has also lost more than $20 billion from its market cap in the past 24 hours, down by nearly 4%, indicating selling pres...

Fed Report Reveals 722 Banks are Insolvent "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Today we're going to talk about something that's been on many people's minds lately: the state of the banking industry. Specifically, how bad do we think this crisis is going to get? The only thing we have to compare it to is the global financial crisis, which we all know was pretty catastrophic. But will this one be worse? Or not as bad? That's the million-dollar question. So, I came across a recent report from the Federal Reserve that revealed 722 banks were bankrupt with losses exceeding 50% of their capital by the end of the third quarter of last year. And things have only gotten worse since then. So where does this leave us now? What's the endgame here? Because to some, it looks like controlled demolition and consolidation at the biggest banks, leading to centralized control. But is that really the case? Let's discuss and try to make sense of it all. So, stay tuned till the end, and let's get started! https://youtu.be/IOHsHh9Wjhg

This Mothers Day, Try Explaining Bitcoin To Your Mom "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Hector Alvero, a Bitcoin educator who serves as co-host of the Broward County Bitcoiners meetup.

Source

As Bitcoiners, we love the exhilarating feeling of bringing a new person into the Bitcoin lifeboat. Many of us constantly work to orange pill our friends, our coworkers and our neighbors, trying to save as many as we can before the fiat ship sinks. We'll even try to orange pill the waiter at our favorite local restaurant, helping them download a Lightning wallet and offering to give them a bigger tip to help them "get off zero."

But what about your mom? Have you given her the same gift that youve given to the Uber driver who took you home from your last conference or meetup? Have you taken the time to help her understand the impact that inflation is having on her economic security, and how Bitcoin can protect her from the financial earthquake that is coming? Have you helped her understand what money is and why Bitcoin is the greatest savings technology ever discovered?

If you have, I applaud you. If you haven't gotten there yet, this Mother's Day is the perfect time to show her that you love her enough to spend the time it takes for her to understand Bitcoin.

You might be thinking, "I already tried, and she didn't get it." I can sympathize with that. My mom didn't get it right away, either. She said it sounded like a Ponzi scheme and that it couldn't be money because it wasn't real or backed by anything.

Maybe you have heard some of these same objections. Maybe you are frustrated and figure you should just let it go. If so, ask yourself this question: How many times has your mom explained something to you that you didn't understand at first? She likely did not just give up on helping you learn and grow. Are you going to quit on her now when her entire future is at stake? Of course not you're a Bitcoiner.

Lisk Foundation To Convert 1,000 Bitcoin To ETH, Reason To Worry? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Max Kordek, the co-founder and CEO of Lisk recently announced via Twitter that the Lisk Foundation will convert 1,000 Bitcoin (BTC) to Ethereum (ETH) in the next 10 weeks, which will be held as part of the foundations long-term treasury. As Kordek explained in a commentary, the Lisk Foundation wants to stake its ETH, but it wont happen right away.

The project gained wider notoriety during the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) craze in 2016 and 2017. At the time, the decentralized apps platform raised 14,000 Bitcoin. That sum was worth about $5.7 million at the time, making the campaign the second most successful cryptocurrency crowdfunding to that point.

With a market cap of $106 million, the Lisk Token (LSK) ranks 195th among the largest cryptocurrencies according to CoinMarketCap today. At press time, LSK was trading at $0.828 and is down 5.7% in the last 24 hours.

Reasons Why Lisk Is Converting Bitcoin To ETH

Lisk Foundation will sell 1,000 BTC in chunks of 100 BTC per week to reduce risks with related third parties. Subsequently, the purchased ETH will be deposited into a 2-of-3 multisig account, with each Lisk Foundation board member holding one key each.

Notably, the project will keep 500 BTC, which the co-founder said will be used to pay expenses in 2024 and 2025. Moreover, Kordek added that the Lisk Foundation has about enough fiat until the next Bitcoin halving.

According to Kordek, there are three reasons for this move: first, the tweet states that Ethereum is the largest blockchain platform in the world. Treasury-wise we want to go where blockchain applications are being built, Kordek wrote, emphasizing as a second reason that ETH has acceptable risks from a Treasury wise point of view.

Third, he said, it allows for a sustainable, long-term return (via staking). Treasury-wise it makes sense to go into an appreciating, deflationary, yield-generating asset, Kordek said.

Will It Have An Impact On BTC Price?

According to CoinGecko, Ethereums current price has taken a sharp dive, plunging to $1,760. This marks a significant 24-hour decline of 3.2% and a week-long decrease of 7.2%. This comes after Ethereum made a new high in mid-April, surpassing $2,100.

Although it experienced a retracement, the $1,800 support level prevented further decline and has remained stable for the past two weeks, provided Bitcoin does not drop below $27,000.

If Ethereum experiences aggressive demand at its current levels, the $1,800 support level may come to the bulls rescue. However, if Bitcoin drops to $26,000, Ethereums support level could crack, exposing it to further selloffs.

In such a scenario, Ethereum could retreat to lower support levels at $1,700 or even $1,500. Its worth noting that upper resistance levels to consider are at $2,000 and $2,100.

Market-Wide Selloff Blamed For ETH Retreat

As the cryptocurrency market continues to experience volatility, investors are keeping a close eye on Ethereums price movements. With the current drop below $1,800, many are wondering where Ethereum is heading next.

Some analysts believe that Ethereums decline is a result of a market-wide sell-off, driven by concerns over Bit...

In his role as a kind of classical music professor to the television audiences of America, Leonard Bernstein came across as supremely genial and patient. But that doesnt mean he dedicated his own career as a conductor to agreeableness above all. Here on Open Culture, weve previously featured the occasion in 1962 when he conducted Glenn Goulds performance of Brahms First Piano Concerto, but not before officially declaring his lack of total agreement with Mr. Goulds conception of the piece. Another notable moment of discord arose a decade later, between Bernstein and the late mezzo-soprano Christa Ludwig, and it, too, has been preserved for all time.

It happened during rehearsals for Mahlers Das Lied von der Erde. Ludwig, seen in this clip in her first rehearsal, begins to sing a verse from the fiendish fourth section, Von der Schnheit (Of Beauty), but struggles to fit in all the words at Bernsteins breakneck tempo, writes Classic FMs Maddy Shaw Roberts.

Ethereum Bears Hesitate But Further Downsides Seem Likely "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum price is moving lower below the $1,800 support against the US Dollar. ETH could accelerate lower toward the $1,650 support in the near term.

  • Ethereum is currently moving lower from the $1,850 resistance zone.
  • The price is trading below $1,820 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average.
  • There is a major bearish trend line forming with resistance near $1,800 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD (data feed via Kraken).
  • The pair could start a decent increase if there is a move above the $1,800 and $1,830 resistance levels.

Ethereum Price Turns Red

Ethereums price failed to start a recovery wave above the $1,850 resistance zone. ETH remained in a bearish zone and traded below the $1,830 support, similar to Bitcoin.

The decline was such that the price even broke the $1,800 support. A new weekly low is formed near $1,770 and the price is now trading in the red zone. Ether is well below $1,820 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average. There is also a major bearish trend line forming with resistance near $1,800 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD.

Immediate resistance is near the $1,800 level or the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the recent decline from the $1,888 swing high to the $1,770 low.

Ethereum ETH ETHUSDT

The next resistance sits near $1,830 or the 50% Fib retracement level of the recent decline from the $1,888 swing high to the $1,770 low, above which Ethereum could test the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average.  If there is a move above the $1,830 and $1,840 resistance levels, the price might rise toward the $1,880 level. Any more gains above the $1,880 resistance zone could start a decent increase toward the $1,920 resistance.

More Losses in ETH?

If Ethereum fails to clear the $1,830 resistance, it could continue to move down. Initial support on the downside is near the $1,770 level.

Why Is Bitcoin And The Crypto Market Down Today? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin price continues to fall, dragging the broader crypto market down with it. BTC is down 4.52% in the last 24 hours, while ETH is down 4.10%. With a current price of $26,289, Bitcoin records its lowest value since March 14 this year, when the price dipped as low as $26,544.

Why Is Bitcoin And Crypto Down?

As always, the reasons for the deep pullback of the Bitcoin price are complex. Remarkably, there was actually good news on Wednesday, May 10, as the CPI continued to fall causing the Bitcoin price to rise as high as $28,317.

However, then fake news about an alleged sale of 9,800 BTC by the U.S. government shook the market. The Bitcoin price flash crashed as a result and has seemingly not been able to recover since. But this narrative is only half the story.

A variety of other factors are currently weighing on the crypto market: the dollar index (DXY) is currently experiencing a bounce and was recently able to hold above the historically important support, the liquidity issue intensified once again with the departure of US market makers Jump and Jane Street, BTC formed a (supposed) head and shoulders pattern in the 1-day chart, the congestion of the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains and last but not least a lot of FUD (US government selling, Binance US and Grayscale).

Not surprisingly, uncertainty in the Bitcoin and crypto market is currently quite high. The Dollar Index (DXY) is currently hovering above historically crucial support at 101.8. Since early April, DXY has already been suspiciously close to support, but has so far been able to fend off any attack from the bears.

As Christopher Inks of Texas Wet Capital writes, the DXY saw another move higher yesterday (to 102.056) and is currently preventing a rally in risk assets:

The $DXY rally is making longs difficult this morning. So, if youre trying to get long on risk-off assets its best to wait and watch for a bit.

Liquidity Issues, A Bearish Chart Pattern And FUD

Another bitter blow to the crypto market on Tuesday was the news of Jump and Jane Streets departure from the U.S. crypto market. The move by the two major market makers comes as a result of regulatory uncertainty in the US.

As NewsBTC reported, liquidity has been a huge problem before, which could now get worse. Due to low liquidity, higher volatility is likely as larger buy and sell orders move the market faster.

In addition, a (supposed) head and shoulders pattern on Bitcoins 1-d...

Bitcoin Price Technical Breakdown Could Take BTC Toward $25K "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin price is moving lower below the $28,000 level. BTC is at risk of a downside break toward the $25,000 support in the near term.

  • Bitcoin struggled to recover above the $27,500 and $27,800 resistance levels.
  • The price is trading below $27,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average.
  • There are two bearish trend lines forming with resistance near $27,000 and $27,800 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair (data feed from Kraken).
  • The pair could continue to move down if it breaks the $26,750 support zone.

Bitcoin Price Extends Decline

Bitcoin price failed to start a recovery wave above the $27,800 level. BTC remained in a bearish zone and settled below the $27,500 support zone.

The bears were able to push the price below the $27,000 level. A low is formed near $26,720 and the price is now showing a lot of bearish signs. It is still trading below $27,500 and the 100 hourly Simple moving average. There are also two bearish trend lines forming with resistance near $27,000 and $27,800 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair.

Bitcoin price is likely to face sellers near the $27,000 level or the 23.6% Fib retracement level recent drop from the $28,335 swing high to the $26,720 low.

The next major resistance is near the $27,350 level. The main resistance is now forming near the next trend line and $27,800. It is close to the 50% Fib retracement level recent drop from the $28,335 swing high to the $26,720 low.

Its International Nurses Day! "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Its International Nurses Day today an international day observed around the world each year on 12 May which is the anniversary of Florence Nightingales birth. The event mark the contributions that nurses make to society. The theme for the 2023 resource is Our Nurses. Our Future.

Our Nurses. Our Future. is a global campaign which sets out what the global community wants for nursing into the future in order to address the health challenges and improve global health for all. As a community we need to learn from the lessons of the pandemic and translate these into actions of the future.

With the release of the State of the Worlds Nursing report, the Global Strategic Directions for Nursing & Midwifery, the Sustain and Retain in 2022 and Beyond and many other important publications, ICN and other organisations have shown the evidence for change and called for action. It is now time to look to the future and demonstrate what these investments will mean for nursing and healthcare. The Our Nurses. Our Future. campaign will shine the light on nurses and on a brighter future.

Nurses to continue raising voices for change

Locally, the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association (NSWNMA) says that nurses across the public, private and aged care sectors are spending International Nurses Day reflecting on their tireless efforts to provide quality care to patients, residents and local communities despite the current workforce challenges one nurse-midwife told The Echo that most nurses are probably just desperately hoping that they might actually get a lunch break today (or any day).

Determined to secure a brighter future for the profession, NSWNMA General Secretary, Shaye Candish, said the day was an opportunity to recognise the essential contribution of nurses and pay tribute to nurses who speak up for change. Nurses are vital for our healthcare system. Their critical thinking and expert coordination prove nurses must be involved whenever decisions are made about healthcare reform or new policies.

Over the last 12 months weve seen commitments from governments to deliver much needed changes in the aged care and public health sectors which will have an immense impact on our ability to provide the quality care patients and residents rightly deserve.

This progress is thanks to nurses and midwives across NSW demanding better, and it highlights their vital role in advocating for improved healthcare for all.

Leaders in fighting for change

NSWNMA Assistant General Secretary Michael Whaites, said nurses are not just leaders in healthcare, but also leaders in fighting for change.

Our members have campaigned for evidence-based nurse-to-patient ratios for many years. They shouldered the brunt of the pandemic over t...

SEC Slammed By U.S. Chamber Of Commerce For Regulatory Approach To Cryptocurrencies In Coinbase Filing "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is facing criticism from the United States Chamber of Commerce over its lack of clarity regarding which digital assets are securities under federal law. This issue has immense implications for every person involved in the $1 trillion digital-asset economy, a court filing by the Chamber states.

According to the filing, the SEC has refused to engage in any systematic process or rulemaking to explain what its claimed authority means, instead offering one-off enforcement actions and public speeches. This has created regulatory uncertainty and destabilized the regulatory environment for digital assets.

In July 2022, Coinbase petitioned the SEC to initiate a rulemaking regarding digital-asset securities. It urged the Commission to answer basic questions such as "which digital assets are securities?" More than 1,700 commenters echoed Coinbase's call, but the SEC expressed no interest in addressing Coinbase's request, according to the Chamber. Coinbase then pursued a lawsuit against the SEC in order to compel the regulator into action, which is where the filing by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce comes from.

The SEC's Chairman has asserted that the securities laws are unambiguous as applied to blockchain-based digital assets. Despite constructively denying Coinbase's petition, the SEC has refused to memorialize its decision in a formal response.

According to the Chamber, the SEC's lack of clarity has caused economic harm to both Coinbase and the broader business community. The uncertainty deters productive conduct and stifles innovation and undermines broader American economic and strategic interests. Continued uncertainty also has implications for the nation's geopolitical interests and the continued primacy of the dollar, given the increasing relevance of digital assets to international monetary policy.

The SEC's refusal to engage in rulemaking or respond to Coinbase's rulemaking petition has destabilized the regulatory environment for digital assets, the Chamber states.

Agencies ordinarily provide regulatory clarity by promulgating rules of general applicability, the filing says. This preference for rulemaking has important benefits: It forces agencies to put to paper their regulatory plans, and it provides for fixed, prospective effective dates that ensure parties can bring their conduct into conformance with the law rather than be held liable later for violating duties they did not know existed.

Marathon Digital Holdings Faces Second Subpoena By SEC In Relation To Montana Mining Operation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Marathon Digital Holdings, a public Bitcoin miner, has received another subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding whether there were possible violations of federal securities law in agreements related to a Hardin, Montana data center facility that Marathon built.

The Company and certain of its executives received a subpoena to produce documents and communications, related to the facility in the third quarter of 2021, a quarterly filing by the company stated.

In that agreement, Marathon issued 6,000,000 shares of restricted Common Stock, in transactions exempt from registration under Section 4(a)(2) of the Securities Act of 1933. However, the company filing revealed that it recently received another subpoena from the SEC on April 10, 2023, relating to, among other things, transactions with related parties."

The company says it is cooperating with the investigation. The facility in Montana was designed to have up to 100-megawatts of power, according to the filing.

Marathons stock price has been volatile in recent months, reflecting the ups and downs of the bitcoin market, however, the stock has generally followed an upward trend since early 2021, as the value of bitcoin has risen.

A Spring Dispatch from the Reviews Poetry Editor "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Sometimes, on the campus of the university where I work, a visiting writer will explain to a captive audience how great poemsmore often than not his ownget written. These explanations often sound a bit mystical, occasionally even mystifying. So I was amused to read the opening lines of Dobby Gibsons tongue-in-cheek Small Craft Talk, a poem our readers discovered in a box of paper slush, and which youll find in our Spring issue:

In some languages the word for dream
is the same as for music

is the kind of thing poets like to say

Before you know it, Gibsons takedown of writing-program clichs shades into a wonder at how poems can make us feel ourselves, as Wallace Stevens once put it, more truly and more strange:

as if youre hearing the song

of your own mind sung into being
so that you become yourself

by becoming more like another self

When I read a poem like Gibsons, I usually think, Wow, what a great poem. Then, maybe a little bit enviously, I read it again and try to imagine writing it myself. So it was when I first came across the brutalist intimacies of Tracy Fuads ...

Liam Isaac was born at home on February 28, 2022 after a six-hour uncomplicated labor. Liams mother had been following a WAPF diet since college and introduced the importance of dietary preparation for healthy babies to Liams father while they were still dating! Good nutrition, exercise and chiropractic adjustments during pregnancy made a huge difference. Postpartum went great as well; people warned Liams parents how hard the first few months would be and how tired they would be, but this was not the case! From the beginning, Liam was a highly alert, mature and contented baby. He started on solid foods at four and a half months (he already had two teeth by then), and he now eats and drinks just about anything. In fact, he thinks cod liver oil is dessert and gets excited when it is brought out after dinner. People tell Liams parents how lucky they arebut they know it isnt luck at all.

Richard and Pat Nixon in China, 1972. Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons.

By the time I saw Nixon in China during its 2011 run at the Metropolitan Opera, it had become a classic, if not an entirely undisputed one. It had made it to the Met, at least, with its composer, John Adams, conducting, and James Maddalena, who originated the role of Nixon in the 1987 premiere at the Houston Grand Opera, back at it, now nearly the age Nixon was when he made the trip. A friend of mine, with theatrical lan, bought out a box for a group of us and encouraged formal dress, as if we were in a nineteenth-century novel. He showed up in a tux. I dont remember my outfit, but Id be surprised, knowing myself, if I managed anything more presentable than a mildly rumpled off-the-rack suit. At the time, I was working as an assistant to a magazine editor who regularly attended the opera, in full formal dress, with a pair of its major donors, fitting in an elaborate meal on the Grand Tier during intermission. My handling of his invitations gave me a surprising proprietary sense about the place. I didnt feel that I belonged, of course, but at least I had a narrow helps-eye-view of its workings. In the upper deck, and even in our box, my friends and I had the sense of superiority that comes from being broke and artistic among the rich and, presumably, untalented.

Not that I had any major insight into the opera at the time, this one specifically or the art form more generally. Id sat in the cheap seats on a few occasions, trying to rouse myself awake for the end of Tristan und Isolde, once, with a Wagner-loving girlfriend. Id even stood in the back row of the orchestra for Leo Janeks From the House of the Dead, feeling obligated as a Dostoyevsky loyalist to bear witness. (All I remember is a general brownness and a grim, monochromatic score. It was, after all, a Czech opera about a Russian prison camp.) I d...

We all know were living in a time of crisis, and we havent seen anything like this since the Civil War. But this time its not north versus south. Its neighbor versus neighbor. His fear is our civilization and its lack of concern for our freedoms: America needs more gutsthe guts to stand up, to say the things that you mean, and to mean the things that you say.

Janet Yellen Claims Debt Default Would Spark A Global Downturn "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen urged Congress on Thursday to raise its debt ceiling. Yellen warned that a US default would produce an economic and financial catastrophe that would spark a global economic downturn and risk undermining the countrys ability to provide global leadership.

Yellen has been increasingly vocal about the debt in recent weeks.

A default would threaten the gains that weve worked so hard to make over the past few years in our pandemic recovery. And it would spark a global downturn that would set us back much further, Yellen said Thursday in Niigata, Japan, where she is attending a meeting of G7 finance ministers and central bankers. It would also risk undermining US global economic leadership and raise questions about our ability to defend our national security interests, she added, according to a report by CNN Business

Some market analysts, such as Gregory Mannarino said that the probability of a debt default is about 50/50. The ruling class in the U.S. could easily use a debt default as an excuse to crash the current system and install the new one.

Uniswap (UNI) Surges After A Bumpy Ride, Is Bearish Run Over? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Uniswap (UNI) has been experiencing downward movement due to general market sentiment. The downtrend started on April 19, dropping from $6 to $5. However, the price rises gradually, indicating that the bulls are building momentum.

This slight increase has left traders wondering if the bearish trend is over and whether things might start getting better for Uniswap (UNI).

Signs of Bullish Sentiment As UNI Surges

Notably, UNI is up today by 3.27% at a high of $5.12 within the last 24-hour trading session. The 24-hour trading volume is also up by over 97.72% at $68 million, signifying that the UNI market is experiencing high activity. This data shows that the bulls build strong momentum with positive market sentiment.

Related Reading: Bitcoin Price Blasts Above $28,000 Following 4.9% April CPI Report

Moreover, the token still holds the 22nd position on the CoinMarketCap ranking with a market cap of $2.9 billion. According to CFGI.io, the market sentiment towards Uniswap (UNI) is bullish.

The indicator confirms the bullish sentiment with a 61 reading, meaning investors are greedy. This further shows that investors are optimistic about the future potential, and the recent increase in price may be sustainable.

UNI Technical Analysis

Even with the increasing price and trading volume, the technical indicators for UNI remained contradictory, with some pointing towards a potential bear market.

UNI is currently trading below its 50-day & 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) and has formed a Death Cross, a bearish sign. The Death Cross contributed to the price drop as it caused traders and investors to sell their holdings or take short positions.

The SMA indicator suggests that both the long-term and short-term trend is bearish. But, the price might reverse if the bulls hold their long positions. The Relative Strength Index (RSI), with a reading of 40.20, suggests that the asset is not in the overbought or oversold regions but in a neutral range.

This indicates that theres no significant buying or selling pressure and UNI might experience some level of consolidation or a positive price change.

The MACD indicator suggests a bearish trend, with the MACD currently below the signal line. The histogram also confirms the bearish momentum as it is trading below zero.

UNI is trading at $5.14 at the time of writing. The bears are trying to break through the first support level of $4.746, a level several times.

However, if the bulls build strong momentum and break above the significant resistance level of $5.731, it might trigger a bullish trend. The next support and resistance level will be $......

Struggling London Marathon Runner Gets Help From Fellow Athletes To Finish the Race

London Marathon Runners

Photo: Screenshots from Reddit

Training for a marathon is one of the most physically demanding activities you can willingly put yourself through. And when race day finally comesafter months of training and hours spent pounding the pavementyou want to finish the race strong. But sometimes, that just doesnt happen.

A runner at the 2023 London Marathon experienced this as he worked his way towards the end of the race. In a short video shared on Reddit, the man in a black cap begins to double over and is on the verge of collapsing as other participants whizz by. But before he falls to the ground, another runner comes from behind him and grabs his arm. Hes able to hold the runner steady enough to keep going. Shortly after, another person appears on the mans other side. Together, the three runners make their way to the finish line.

Its unclear if the men knew each prior to the race. But when it comes to marathons, finishing with a fast time is only one component. The camaraderieknowing thousands of other people are doing the same thing as youis part of what makes the experience so special. And helping someone in need? Even better. Though the three guys didnt finish first, they won that day.

Making of a Poem: Michael Bazzett on Autobiography of a Poet "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

For our series Making of a Poem, were asking some poets to dissect the poems theyve published in our pages. Michael Bazzetts Autobiography of a Poet appears in our Spring issue, no. 243.

How did this poem start for you? Was it with an image, an idea, a phrase, or something else?

It was a phrase. I was sitting in my backyard, with a legal pad and a few books, including Fady Joudahs Footnotes in the Order of Disappearance and After Ikkyu by Jim Harrison, which contains the line  I was born a baby, / what are these hundred suits of clothes Im wearing? I was thinking about dislocation and baby-logic, and object permanence, and the idea of first encountering something through a sense other than sight. Hearing a bird before you see it, for instance. Or how a visual stimulus like a leaf-shadow fluttering in the wind moves on the wall above a crib. In my baby-mind, I imagine that light-flicker as something animate, moving of its own accord. When does a baby stop engaging with stimuli as pure image or pure sound and begin to imagine what caused it? Ive often wondered what it would be like to be able to reexperience the dreams we dream in utero, or in the first months of life before language, before we consciously encounter words and narrative structure. How would they be ordered? Where would the images come from? Do we bring anything with us from the other side? Are there things already written into us?

For some reason, Id written down some notes on language on my legal pad: Language as energy, as predating culture, as something to discover And Language as energy leaped out at me, and I wrote, I thought birds were pure sound / until I was 5 months old / and one fluttered to my sill / and into my sight.

I say I was thinking about the above things, but really they were thinking inside me. Or simmering. Or humming. I dont know what the verb is, but its not thinking.

Bitcoin Rebounds From $27,100 After Spike In Bearish Sentiment "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Data shows the Bitcoin sentiment had turned quite bearish just before the assets price had rebounded up from the $27,100 level.

Bitcoin Recovers Shortly After FUD Takes Over Market

According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, investors showed high levels of fear around the time of the local bottom during the past day. The relevant indicator here is the social volume, which measures the total number of social media text documents that mention a given topic like cryptocurrency or Bitcoin.

These social media text documents include a variety of sources, like Reddit, Twitter, Telegram, and other forums. The social volume only tracks how many such documents mention the term at least once. So this means that even if a post contains the keyword several times, its contribution to the social volume will still be only one unit.

The significance of the social volume is that it tells us about the amount of discussion that certain topics are getting from social media participants at the moment.

In the context of the current topic, social media is used to know the degree of the bearish and bullish sentiments in the market. Here is a chart that shows the trend in these social volumes for Bitcoin over the last week:

Bitcoin Social Volume

To separate the social volume for discussions that imply a bullish mentality, terms such as buy, bottom, bullish have been chosen, while keywords like sell, top, bearish are the ones selected for pinpointing a bearish sentiment.

As displayed in the above graph, the Bitcoin social volume for the bearish sentiment seems to have observed a large spike during the past day. This surge in the indicator had come after BTC had plunged from above $28,000 to around $27,100.

This suggests that the BTC investors had turned very fearful during this panic selloff. A similar level of bearish sentiment was also observed only a couple of days back, as the chart highlights.

The turn in market mentality back then had also come following a decline (this time from the $29,000 mark to the low $27,000 levels), and interestingly, it had coincided with the local bottom in the price.

The spike this time has also occurred simultaneously with the possible local bottom formation at $27,100, as the price of the cryptocurrency has recovered a little bit since then.

Core Developer Amiti Uttarwar Will Be Reinforcing Decentralization At Bitcoin 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

One of the many ways that Bitcoin is an experiment is in its decentralized development model, explained Amiti Uttarwar. Whether a non-profit or a private company, the vast majority of software projects have a centralized structure for directing funding, prioritizing projects and coordinating efforts. But the community consensus model of Bitcoin is essential for ongoing censorship resistance. While its not easy to get tens of thousands of individual computers to agree, getting thousands of humans to agree is arguably the greater challenge.

As a Bitcoin Core developer, Uttarwar is understandably fascinated with Bitcoins unique consensus model. She opted to focus on this community-led, open-source project full time in 2019, taking a significant pay cut from an engineering role with Coinbase, and has since earned grants to continue her work from OKCoin, BitMEX operator HDR Global and Gemini.

Her past codebase contributions have changed the logic of Bitcoins address management, fundamentally shifted address communication and reduced privacy leaks caused by transaction broadcasting. Today, her development focus is on improving support for privacy-enhancing communication layers like Tor, I2P and CJDNS through a collaboration with Chaincode Labs Martin Zumsande.

While Bitcoin users can run nodes on multiple networks right now, the benefits are limited and often require a deep level of understanding from the node operator, Uttarwar said. Our current project is to enable automatic connections to nodes on every network that a user has enabled. With our work, if a user has enabled clearnet (with interfaces IPv4 or IPv6) and Tor on their Bitcoin node, the node will strive to ensure at least one of their 10 outbound connections is to an onion peer on the Tor network.

For Uttarwar, who has seen her work merged into a Bitcoin Core update and who depends upon the larger community of Bitcoin developers for feedback and critical review of her work, the decentralization that underpins this software project is more than just a development model, it is a responsibility.

Honoring decentralization in the world of Bitcoin development requires participation from...

Graffiti-Style Characters With Expressive Big Eyes Explore Ones Inner Child

Graffiti Art by Hera of Herakut

Made in a distinctive graffiti style, Jasmin Siddiqui's paintings look as though they were plucked straight off the streets. The German-Pakistani artist, better known as Hera from the art duo Herakut, is debuting a new solo exhibition titled tHERApy room 2 at the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles. It explores the human condition and childhood experiences through a cast of large-eyed female figures adorned with uncanny animal headwear.

Although created on traditional canvases, Siddiqui brought her graffiti roots into the making of these paintings by using a mix of spray paint, acrylic, and even charcoal. As a result of this approach, a rainbow of colors drips down the canvases. Additionally, all of the figures are rendered in a rough, sketchy way that emphasizes the youth of the characters themselves.

Its 23 years now since I have touched a spray can for the first time. Who would have thought this tool would have such a defining effect on my life, Hera says. To me, it was a match made in heaven, as it really felt like I had finally found my own vocabulary. One could say that I created my own language, in which I have been non-stop communicating and sharing my thoughts ever sinceon walls all over the world and on so many canvases, Ive lost count.

Although these female figures vary slightly in appearance and accessory, they are united by their large expressive eyes and connection to animals and nature. But even though Ive written up hundreds of messages next to hundreds of big-eyed figures, it doesnt get old or feel less important to me, she continues. Because each note I write and share with the world, is actually a message addressed to that inner child, the vulnerable part that needs that extra encouragement, that talk of hope, of magic, and a little bit of escapism.

Hera's art is currently on view at the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles until May 27,...

Chiliz (CHZ) Price Nosedives Indicating A Strong Bearish Sentiment "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Chiliz(CHZ) is trading in the red today, down by over 4% in the last 24 hours. This trend broadly reflects the global crypto market cap, down by 0.57% in 24 hours.

However, despite the price drop, Chilizs trading volume is up by 39% at press time, which could influence its price action soon.

CHZ traded at $0.1011 on January 1, 2023, before it moved to $0.1202 on January 10. Since then, it has experienced extreme price volatility, peaking at $0.1577 on February 8 for the first time in 2023. However, the bears have prevailed on its price, returning it to $0.1075 today.

CHZ Price Prediction

CHZ is in a downtrend momentum, forming a fourth consecutive red candle. It has dropped below its 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), a bearish sentiment for the short and long term.

Also, its Relative Strength Index (RSI) is 28.15, firmly in the oversold region below 30. It implies that the bears are in control of their price movement. The RSI is still moving downwards, suggesting further price decline for the asset in the short term. However, since the asset is oversold, a retracement is likely if it can rally from its closest support level.

CHZs Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is below its signal line and showing negative values. It also reflects the prevalent bearish trend. Also, the histogram bars are at full strength and bearish.

Chiliz (CHZ) Price Nosedives Indicating A Strong Bearish Sentiment

CHZ is rapidly approaching the $0.108 support level and a drop below this will send the assets price into free fall to record lower lows.

The bears at the $0.11685719 resistance level are active and resisting a rally for the asset. But CHZ is already in the oversold region and will probably reach a point of consolidation soon.

SPONGE Lists On 2 Major Exchanges: Will It Beat Pepes Solid Price Performance? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

SPONGE, the latest addition to the world of meme coins, has been making waves since its launch. With recent listings on popular cryptocurrency exchanges like Poloniex and MEXC, the Spongebob coin has attracted the attention of traders and investors alike.

But the question on everyones mind is: will it surpass the impressive price performance of meme coin darling, Pepe?

As the cryptocurrency market continues to grow, meme coins have emerged as a popular trend among traders and investors. These coins often feature fun and quirky designs that appeal to the younger demographic, making them a hit among social media users.

And SPONGE is no exception. With its unique sponge-shaped logo and playful marketing, it has quickly gained a following in the crypto community.

SPONGE: The Rising Star Among Meme Coins?

SPONGE, a brand new Ethereum-based ERC-20 meme token, has quickly become a rising star among the highly-stacked field of meme coins, with its unique branding and impressive price performance.

Currently priced at 0.000452, the token has already made a name for itself as one of the most successful meme coins this year, despite being down 43.53% in the last 24 hours.

The token made its debut on the decentralized exchange Uniswap on May 4, and within just 48 hours, it was listed on CoinW and Toobit. This lightning-fast listing process is in stark contrast to PepeCoin (PEPE), which took three weeks to list on its first centralized exchange.

In fact, following its listings on various exchanges, SPONGE came incredibly close to reaching a $100 million market cap, and was ranked in the top 275 cryptocurrencies by market cap, according to CoinMarketCap data.

One impressive feat that SPONGE achieved was its trading volume on Uniswap. Within just four days of its launch, its 24-hour trading volume exceeded $100 million, outpacing the trading volume of PEPE by a significant margin.

This made SPONGE the most-traded coin on Uniswap, excluding wrapped Ethereum. With such impressive numbers, many are wondering if SPONGE will be able to surpass the success of its meme coin rival, Pepe Coin.

With The E-Krona, Sweden Is Attacking The Virtues Bitcoin Is Built To Protect "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Peter Bistoletti, a Bitcoiner who has lived in Sweden since 1971.

Sweden is the nightmare example of a state destroying financial privacy, winning the war on cash and having control of all financial transactions. Sweden has almost completely abolished anonymous cash transactions and, as a result, its regulators have control of all financial assets. Since at least 1971, when I moved to Sweden, bank assets have to be reported annually to the tax authorities, which can also demand documentation for all bank transactions. Since 2020, the Swedish police have the right by law to acquire access to locked iphones and computers by use of force.

In such a privacy-averse environment, one should consider Bitcoin as a better alternative.

Introducing The E-Krona

In the early days of Bitcoin, one could buy BTC anonymously through platforms such as LocalBitcoins, which is impossible today. To buy BTC through the majority of accessible platforms now, one has to follow strict KYC and AML regulations. Sweden also has no Bitcoin ATMs. Swedish banks, politicians and the media have an overwhelmingly hostile attitude towards BTC.

Sweden is now moving toward a central-bank-issued, digital, national currency. Since 2017, the Swedish central bank, Sveriges Riksbank, the issuer of the prize in economic science in memory of Alfred Nobel, has been promoting the e-krona as a complement to, or replacement of, physical cash. Proponents of e-krona argue that it prevents money laundering and criminal activities, speeds up the financial system and finetunes financial and monetary activities. Critics argue that it is the ultimate tool for financial censorship, control and surveillance. The development of e-krona is happening in cooperation with other central banks and the Bank For International Settlements (BIS).

E-krona is, at present, a pilot project, testing the technical platform and the cooperation...

XRP Holds Above Key Support As Ripple CEO Predicts Delay Of Verdict "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

XRP price has shown a strong reaction after the (fake) news of the alleged sale of 9,800 BTC by the US government and the subsequent sell-off across the crypto market, staying above the key support. However, XRP investors have yet another damper to digest today.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said during the Dubai Fintech Summit that he expects a ruling in the legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by the end of the third quarter of 2023. In a previous statement in January at the World Economic Forum, Garlinghouse still expressed his optimism that a ruling will come in the first half of 2023 (by the end of the second quarter).

Ripple CEO Lowers His Expectations For A Verdict

During the interview at the Dubai Fintech Summit, the Ripple CEO emphasized the protracted nature of the legal battle with the SEC, stressing that the case has been ongoing for two and a half years. While this is a long time, Garlinghouse pointed to a silver lining:

So it has certainly been frustrating and slow, But the good news is we are at the end of that journey. While others in the crypto might be beginning their journey, the silver lining is that Ripple is now at the end.

Furthermore, Garlinghouse revealed that he expects a resolution in the next two or six months. The Ripple CEO conceded Judge Analisa Torres has additional deliberation time, as she has extensive information to process and make a decision based on it.

Ultimately, Garlinghouse indicated that, like everyone else, he can only guess how long Judge will need to make her decision:

A federal judge can operate on whatever timeline, in this case, she would like, but I am optimistic we can see a resolution, I believe, before the end of Q3.

XRP Price Holds Key Support

The XRP price is following the current market sentiment today and is slightly in the red today, down -0.34% over the last 24 hours. At press time, XRP was trading at $0.4253, holding above key support at $0.4131.

The support is key because a break to the downside would knock the XRP price back down the trading range from early November 2022 to mid-March 2023. XRP had spent over four months in this trading range before an impulsive move higher on March 21. If XRP closes below $0.4131 on the 1-day chart, it would be an extremely bearish signal.

On the upside, XRP first faces the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $0.4353 again. The indicator is often referred to as the bull boundary and is accordingly of great importance to subsequently break through resistance at $0.4402 and regaining bullish momentum.

Video Shows a CEO Berating Employees Who Were Worried About Not Getting Bonuses "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

As the price of just about everything goes up and wages stay pretty much the same, people are pretty quick to get fed up these days when it comes to corporate greed.

And this story about a CEO certainly isnt going to make people any happier about the current situation.

A woman named Andi Owen who is the President and CEO of a company called MillerKnoll took a lot of heat recently after a video surfaced of her talking to employees who were curious if they were going to get bonuses.

For the record, Owen made a little under $5 million last year, with $1.2 million of that coming in the form of bonuses.

Owen seems to be pretty unhappy in the video and addressed workers concerns about how they are supposed to stay motivated after the company was hit hard by the COVID pandemic, which led to one of the companys factories closing.

Owen said that the most important thing to do is to stay focused on the customers.

The government just tipped Lindsay Hoyle over the edge and his fury is a fabulous watch "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Cant think of too many times weve been moved to applaud House of Commons speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, but this is definitely one of them.

He was responding to the government far from the first time making an announcement in the Daily Telegraph rather than in the House of Commons, where MPs are supposed to hear about this sort of thing first.

Business and trade secretary Kemi Badenoch appeared not to take his concerns particularly (at all) seriously and his fury was tangible.

Made us nervous just watching it (and just in case you were wondering, in this case it was about the governments decision to ditch plans to allow thousands of EU-inherited laws to expire by the end of the year).

And here are just a few of the things people said about it after the moment went viral on Twitter.
