This Sports Bar in Portland Only Shows Womens Sports for an Important Reason "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

This Sports Bar in Portland Only Shows Womens Sports for an Important Reason

Very few women's sports receive the same TV coverage or even attention as their male counterparts. However, one venue is trying to change that fact. Based in Portland, Oregon, a woman-owned sports bar cleverly called The Sports Bra caters specifically to women and women's sports. Rather than show the most popular sport on the air, they only promote female athletes and their sports.

The Sports Bra has been in operation since April 2022 after the owner Jenny Nguyen had been nurturing the idea for a bar and restaurant where women and girls can enjoy sports. At first, I thought that The Bra would just be a place to celebrate women and girls in sports, Nguyen says. But now I see that it's highlighted and uplifted girls and women in so many different ways that is just amazing and beautiful to be a part of.

The Sports Bra says its mission is to make great food, delicious drinks, and provide a space that supports, empowers, and promotes girls and women in sports and in the community. In addition to offering cocktails, The Bra also serves meals like burgers and salads and hosts a number of community events. On their social media, they also regularly post schedules of what sports will be on TVranging anywhere from tennis to boxing. Additionally, part of the business' success comes from making space for younger fans as well. Until 10:30 p.m., minors are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere; plus, there is even a children's menu.

I want to normalize showing women's sports on TV, Nguyen continues. I want every bar, hotel, and restaurant to put on women's games like it was normal, but that also means having access to these games. If the m...

Understanding Schumann Resonance Blackouts "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Schumann Resonance (SR) is a naturally occurring electromagnetic resonance that exists within the Earth's ionosphere, created by the interaction of lightning strikes with the Earth's surface. It is a series of frequencies that oscillate at around 7.83 Hz and extend to the higher frequencies of 50 Hz. These frequencies are thought to have a significant impact on human consciousness and are believed to be responsible for many of the spiritual and psychic experiences that people report having.

Friedemann Schaub, M.D.: The Empowerment Solution "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Break free from self-sabotaging survival patterns and transform your life

Discover the six keys to empowerment and take ownership of your life

Activate the healing power of your subconscious mind to accelerate change and growth and eliminate the root causes of chronic anxiety, depression, and other limiting mental and emotional challenges

Learn effective brain-rewiring methods and practical tools based on neuro-linguistic programming and clinical hypnotherapy

When youre struggling with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, just keeping your emotions in check seems like a full-time job. Yet, what may hold you back in life even more are your survival patterns. Have you ever wondered why you make yourself invisible, procrastinate, or please others to get their approval? Our subconscious employs survival patterns like these to protect us from rejection, failure, and hurt. However, living in subconscious survival mode has significant downsides: when we live just to survive, we become disconnected from our true selves and our innate ability to live an empowered life of purpose, fulfillment, and self-reliant confidence.

In this step-by-step guide, Friedemann Schaub, M.D., Ph.D., explores how to break free from the six most common survival patternsthe victim, invisibility, the procrastinator, the chameleon, the helper, and the loverby engaging the part of the mind that created them in the first place: the subconscious. Providing research-backed insights and brain- rewiring methods based on his 20 years experience, Dr. Friedemann details how, through activating the healing power of the subconscious, you can throw off the shackles of these self-sabotaging patterns and flip them into the six keys to self-empowerment, allowing you to take self-reliant ownership of your life. Revealing how to work with the subconscious mind and become the leader of your life, the author details how to free yourself from living in survival mode, learn to love and accept yourself, and make authenticity and confidence your everyday way of being.

Friedemann Schaub, M.D., Ph.D., is a physician, researcher, personal development coach, and the author of the award-winning book The Fear and Anxiety Solution. His research and advice have been featured in many publications, including Nature Medicine, Oprah Magazine, Huffington Post, Readers Digest, Teen Vogue, and Shape. He is the host of the Empowerment Solutions podcast and lives between Seattle, Washington, and the South of France.

Ethereal Street Art of a Woman in a Flower Crown Pops Up in London Underpass "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ethereal Street Art of a Woman in a Flower Crown Pops Up in London Underpass

SNIK Mural in London

Photo: Doug Gillen

After a two-year break from creating outdoor work in the UK, British street art duo SNIK is back. While the World Decays is the title of this mural, which sits in an underpass in South East London. Organized by London Calling Blog, the portrait of a woman in a flower crown is executed using stencils in their halftone style.

Thanks to documentation by several photographers, we're also able to see how SNIK brought their vision to life. Stencil art is all about preparation, and the photos show the duo carefully unrolling the paper stencil matrixes on the wall. After spraying the stencils, it's then all about touching up the gaps for a seamless final product.

This type of work looks even better from a distance, when the halftone effect is maximized and the woman's features pop. Her closed eyes and dreamy look falls in line with SNIK's ethereal portraiture, which is a modern twist on Pre-Raphaelite sensibilities.

Theirs is one of 100 pieces of street art introduced to the Penge neighborhood thanks to London Calling. Ben Eine, Stinkfish, and Alice Pasquini are just some of the numerous artists who have transformed this suburb into an open air museum.

Street art duo SNIK recently painted their first outdoor work in the UK in over two years.

Should She Have Allowed This Man To Sit Beside Her On An All-But-Empty Train? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Public transit is a thing that people deal with every day all over the world. As with anything that puts people into direct contact with each other, sometimes it can get contentious.

I think most people havent experienced something quite as contentious as OP did when she climbed on a mostly-empty train for her commute.

Since there were plenty of seats she spread out across four of them, tossing her things and putting her (reasonably clean) feet up.

I (f, 30s) was riding an almost empty train, there were maybe 5 or 6 people in the whole carriage. I sat in a four-seater (two seats on one side, two across) and spread out my stuff, put my jacket on the seat across from me and put my feet on it so that the seat wouldnt get touched by my socks.

If it matters: It was early in the morning and I had been wearing these socks for less than an hour. My shoes are also clean as I alternate two pairs daily to let them dry out between uses.

A man got on and demanded she move her bag so he could sit beside her. OP complied, but went ahead and moved to another set of 4 empty seats so she could have some space again.

A guy in Innguess his late forties or maybe early fifties entered the train, came straight to me and said move your bag.

I was puzzled since there was plenty of free seats to go around, so I asked if he really wanted this particular seat and he said yes.

So I picked up my bag, he plopped down next to me and I proceeded to pack up my laptop, drink, jacket, put on my shoes and moved to a different four-seater. I spread out again.

He followed her and again demanded she move her bag. When she questioned him he said it wasnt about the seat but about entitled people who thought their bags needed a seat.

It was named after the Japanese general Tomoyuki Yamashita, dubbed as "The Tiger of Malaya", who conquered Malaya within 70 days from the British. Though there are accounts that claim the treasure remains hidden in the Philippines and have lured treasure hunters from around the world for over 50 years, its existence has been dismissed by most experts.

U.S. Air Forces woke experiment to graduate more minority pilots crashes and burns "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The U.S. Air Force abandoned an experiment aimed at boosting pilot training graduation rates for women and minority pilots after the 2021 initiative failed to achieve the intended results and officers privately warned it could violate anti-discrimination policies, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. As part of the larger military-wide effort to promote diversity in the services pilot ranks, the 19th Air Force command near San Antonio, Texas, clustered racial minorities and female trainees into one class, dubbed Americas Class, to find out if doing so would improve the pilots graduation rates. However, not only did the effort fail to boost minority and women candidates success rates, but officers involved say they were ordered to engage in potentially unlawful discrimination by excluding white males from the class, documents show. Unlawful or not, the Air Forces actions raised red flags for an active-duty pilot instructor who spoke to the DCNF. When other priorities, like gender or race, are introduced as a metric of assignment and advancement, the foundations of performance-based competition are sacrificed and the emphasis on safety takes a backseat, a current Air Force instructor pilot and former trainer for Undergraduate Pilot Training, who spoke on a condition of anonymity due to fear of reprisal, told the DCNF. A significant backlog of pilot candidates waiting to begin classes offered the 19th Air Force, which conducts pilot training for the entire...

Evidence our Sun is A MASSIVE UFO Stargate "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Picture
In a quantum physics solution to the mystery of the giant solar UFOs, physicist Nassim Haramein states in a video-taped analysis that Earth-sized UFOs are in fact giant extraterrestrial or interdimensional spacecraft, which are accessing our solar system, using the Sun as a black-hole singularity, or stargate.
Mr. Haramein contends that NASA Stereo data of giant solar UFOs prove that extraterrestrial civilizations access our solar system via a stargate on the Sun when using large (Earth-size) vehicle spacecraft.

Whats The Most Amazing Thing About Our Universe? People Shared Their Thoughts "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Its easy these days to dwell on the things about our world that need fixing. There are plenty of them, after all, and they seem to be piling up higher by the day.

It can feel nice, then, to take some time on occasion to think about the things about our world that are remarkable, dont you think?

We do, and these amazing tidbits definitely qualify.

An insignificant difference.

Imagine being transported to a parallel universe that was almost identical to our own.

Somewhere out in the vastness of that universe, there is a tiny planet.

This much is true in both universes.

On this planet, there is a beach, and on that beach, there is a small stone.

Once again, both universes are alike in this regard.

Beneath that stone, however, there are several million grains of sand, and while they are all are in precisely the same location in each universe, one of them a tiny speck of particularly clear quartz, hewn from a larger whole millions of years before has a single atom that is positioned a fraction of a femtometer differently than its twin in the mirror dimension.

You may think that such an insignificant difference would label these two universes as being functionally identical, and you would be right. In fact, they are so similar that the multiverse has long since combined them into one reality. That single atom in that tiny speck of sand on that lonesome beach on a distant planet merely occupies two spaces at once, seeming to an outside observer to vibrate back and forth at a predictable rate.

That every atom in existence seems to do the same is probably a coincidence.

From the inside.

The only way we can see the universe is...

The First-Ever Film Version of Lewis Carrolls Tale, Alice in Wonderland (1903) "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Once lost, this 8-minute, very damaged, but very delightful years ago by the British Film Institute. It is the first film adaptation of the 1865 Lewis Carroll classic. And, at the time, the original length of 12 minutes (only 8 minutes survive today) made it the longest film coming out of the nascent British film industry.

After about a minute, the eye ignores the damage of the film, like the ear ignores a scratched 78 rpm record. Viewers can expect several vignettes from the novel, not a flowing narrative. It starts with Alice following the White Rabbit down the hole, the eat me and drink me sequence, the squealing baby that turns into a piglet, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Tea Party, and the Red Queen and her playing card minions. The coloring of the negative is a BFI reconstruction of the original colors, by the way.

The Story of the Flatiron Building, New Yorks Strangest Tower "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Few outside New York know the Flatiron Building by name, but people everywhere associate it with the city. That owes in part to its tendency to appear in the vintage imagery of New York that adorns the walls of cafs, hotel rooms, and dentists offices across the world. And that, in turn, owes in part in very large part to the Flatirons unusual shape, the result of a design meant to maximize the profit of a triangular plot of land bounded by Fifth Avenue, Broadway, and East 22nd Street. You can hear the story of the building, New Yorks strangest tower, in the new video from architecture-and-engineering Youtube channel The B1M just above.

Weve previously featured The B1M here on Open Culture for videos on subjects like Europes lack of skyscrapers a condition that certainly doesnt afflict Manhattan, though at the time of the Flatiron Buildings construction in the first years of the twentieth century, the skyscraper itself was still a fairly novel concept.

She Asked Her Roommate To Leave Until She Could Stop Crying. Was She Insensitive? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Roommate situations can be tricky, especially when the two (or more) people did not know each other before moving in. College is one of the times when it can be a little easier than others, because everyone is in the same boat but not always.

OP did the roommate lottery her freshman year and says things were going ok until one night, when she awoke to screams at 1 in the morning after she had told her roommate she needed good sleep due to a morning midterm.

Im a college freshman and I opted to go for a random roommate. I was matched with this girl Donna, and so far weve gotten along pretty well. Donna has a boyfriend, Malcolm, who shes constantly on the phone with from the time she wakes up until the time she goes to sleep.

A few weeks ago, I wanted to go to sleep early since I had an 8 AM midterm the next day. I told Donna this in advance and she said shed be quiet. I fell asleep at about 9:30.

She leapt up and ran to her roommate, who told her shed just been dumped by her long-term boyfriend.

However, at around 1 am, I woke up to the sound of Donna scream-cryingliteral screaming, like someone had just died. I immediately got out of bed and went over to her and asked her what was wrong, thinking something horrible had just happened.

It took me a little bit to get it out of her, but she managed to tell me that Malcolm had just broken up with her over text.

OP tried her best to comfort the other girl and was not unsympathetic to her struggle.

I felt awful for her (no one deserves that) and spent a while trying to comfort her, but she wouldnt calm down at all.

She just kept sobbing and sobbing very loudly, which is very understandable since it was my understanding that they had been together...

Support Sb 542 To Protect National Guard Against Covid-19 Shots In Missouri "IndyWatch Feed Food"

A number of Covid-related bills were introduced this session in Missouri but most stalled in committee and the session ends this Friday, May 12.

SB 542 would prohibit National Guard members from being required to receive Covid-19 injections as a condition of duty or training.  This bill passed the full Senate on 4/17/23 and was voted Do Pass by the House Rules-Regulatory Oversight Committee on 5/3/2023.

We need YOUR voice to help SB 542 pass the Missouri House before the session ends so that it can go to the governors desk.

TAKE ACTION

Contact your House Member and ask him or her to SUPPORT vaccine freedom and safety by voting YES on SB 542.

You can look up who represents you at:

https://house.mo.gov/legislatorlookup.aspx

Calls are more effective than emails and only take a few minutes.  Below are Sample Scripts for the bills along with additional Talking Points.  Use your own words when you call or email a personal message is always more effective than a form message!

SAMPLE SCRIPT:

My name is ____ and I live in (town).  I am emailing to ask House Member ____ to support SB 542 which would prohibit National Guard members from being required to receive Covid-19 shots as a condition of duty or training.

There have been no long-term studies on the safety of these shots.  People should not be forced to be injected with an experimental substance that could cause serious side effects.  As of 4/28/23, 2,469,498 injuries and 35,028 deaths have been reported in connection with the Covid shots to the CDCs Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) and it is estimated that only 1-10 percent of adverse reactions are ever reported.  And yet the manufacturers are shielded from liability for any harm they cause.

Vaccine mandates are being justified by the idea of the greater good and protecting other people.  But no individual should be forced to take a medical treatment for someone elses benefit.

I urge House Member _____to SUPPORT vaccine freedom and safety by voting YES on SB 542.

TALKING POINTS for calls and emails:

Keep your email short!  Pick the 2 or 3 of these talking points or none of them that are most important to you, and be sure to explain why this issue matters to you personally.

60 Films That Say I Love New York "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The Big Apple is no stranger to the big screen, and a film series opening this week will highlight many of its starring roles. In conjunction with the Museum of the City of New Yorks (MCNY) centennial exhibition, Manhattans Film Forum presents The City: Real and Imagined, showcasing over 60 New York City-based, critically acclaimed films throughout the decades since the MCNY was founded in 1923.

From film noir and horror to documentary and comedy, the diverse array of films selected for the series illustrates New Yorks indefinable, ever-evolving nature. Whereas works like The Panic in Needle Park (1971), Taxi Driver (1976), and Do The Right Thing (1989) paint a stylized portrait of the city and its communities, documentaries such as Los Sures (1984), focused on the primarily Puerto Rican and Dominican neighborhood in South Williamsburg, chronicle the real stories of New York residents.

The series also includes NYC Treasures from the Archives and NYC Treasures from the New York Public Library programs that present rare and restored archival footage of the city from t...

Woman With Early-Onset Dementia Embroiders What Her Brain Looks Like to Her "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Woman With Early-Onset Dementia Embroiders What Her Brain Looks Like to Her

When were healthy, we dont have to think about what is failing in our bodies. After all, part of being healthy is not having to constantly consider what is ailing us; everything is working as it should. But when someone is diagnosed with a terminal disease, they have no choice but to consider the part of their body that is in troubleit can affect every aspect of their life. A Twitter user named Charlotte shared how her mom, who has early-onset dementia and epilepsy, thinks about her brain. Her mom used embroidery to create a visual representation of how her own brain looks to her.

The resulting piece gives color to what could be considered dark, as these are serious conditions. Charlottes artist mom has created sections of the brain using vibrant jewel-toned hues and a variety of stitching along with materials including beading. Together, they produce an assortment of textures. There are portions of the embroidery where threads cross over one another, while layered beads offer dimensionality to the overall design. Each section is variedbe it in color, stitching, or materialsdemonstrating how parts of the brain look different but together act as one.

There is a feeling of hopefulness to this piece. While Charlottes mom is dealing with serious neurological issues, she appears to view her brain as a place of beauty and cherishes what she has now.

The A-Lot-Ness of Little Richard "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

From the duly ribald to the shockingly reverent, rock and roll icon Little Richard was a walking contradiction if there ever was one. Or rather, he was a gyrating, piano-mounting, shirt-flinging contradiction who spent just as much time in his long, embattled life preaching the Gospel, peddling Bibles, and saving sinners like himself from the fires of hell. (The original refrain to 1955s Tutti Frutti was about anal sex, and he enrolled in a theological seminary in the late 50s.)

If that seems like a lot to take on, thats because it is. Three years after the artists death, Lisa Cortss new documentary, Little Richard: I Am Everything, honors the a-lot-ness that made the artist a 20th-century pioneer, while also acknowledging the bumps along the trail he blazed. Born Richard Wayne Penniman, one of 12 children raised in Depression-era Macon, Georgia, Little Richard seems to epitomize the American Dream: the rise to fame via grit and talent against all odds. Both gay and phys...

As the US enters a new era of unprecedented deception and counter intelligence that seeks to socially engineer America into a compromised shadow of its former self, we must consider too the misrepresentative language used to mask intent. What a clean and neat way to rationalize the in 43% of transgendered patients becoming suicidal.

The word game

Planned Parenthood performs 328 thousand abortions each year. Thanks to the Democrats theyve been given the green light to even murder full term babies whose lives could have been saved. They receive more than 500 thousand dollars a year taxpayer funded assistance! Why should any taxpayer have to pay for these infanticides that our warped system has allowed? Even when the Supreme Court has ruled against abortions, but violent demonstration on the lawns of the justices are all in the name of get this, Womens Reproductive Rights.  Let me just take a gamble here and ask, What about the rights of the baby youre carrying, Lady?

Americas Atlas Shrugged Moment Has Already Arrived, New IRS Data Show "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Jon Miltimore, Last September, billionaire Ken Griffin announced he was pulling up stakes and moving Citadelhis gigantic hedge fundfrom Chicago to Miami. The Windy City was out of control, he told Bloomberg, something that dawned on him after a colleague made a coffee run and was robbed by a thief who put a gun to his head. Its no secret that Griffins exit is part of a much larger migration taking place across America. Data show that several populous blue statesCalifornia, New York, and Illinois among themhave been losing population and companies for years. In 2021 Forbes wrote about leftugees fleeing blue states for red ones. A few years before that, a headline in The Hill touched on the great exodus out of Americas blue cities. New IRS data, however, show the speed with which blue states are losing taxpayersand their adjusted gross income (AGI)is increasing. A recent Wall Street Journal analysis found that more than 100,000 people left Illinois in 2021, taking with them some $11 billion in AGI, nearly double its 2019 total. For New York it was $24.5 billion, an increase of more than 150 percent from 2019. California, meanwhile, saw its AGI loss ($29 billion) more than triple since 2019. That people are migrating from these states is important. But who is migrating is equally important, and the data paint a bleak picture for these states. Gaza: House of Slaughter Israeli air assault murdered 12 Gazans, including mothers and five children "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Richard Silverstein, Israeli air assault murdered 12 Gazans, including mothers and five children Gaza, last night, became a House of Slaughter. An Israeli targeted assassination destroyed a floor of an apartment building, killing three alleged Islamic Jihad commanders, their wives and children.  5 of the dead were children.  20 others were injured.  As it has in the past, Israel knew there were civilians who would be killed, but wanted the militants so badly it was willing to massacre the innocent. Israels national poet, Chaim Nachman Bialik, wrote a searing poem about the 1903 Kishniev pogrom, the City of Slaughter.  Tonight, Israel has made a House of Slaughter.  Ive featured here some of the photos of these beautiful children. https://twitter.com/RZabaneh/status/1655780448868474884?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1655780448868474884%7Ctwgr%5E4ae696e8d79f660fa4be50c1c279fb70179a8ae4%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.richardsilverstein.com%2F2023%2F05%2F09%2Fgaza-house-of-slaughter%2F https://twitter.com/AyaIsleemEn/status/1655750296377729025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1655750296377729025%7Ctwgr%5E4ae696e8d79f660fa4be50c1c279fb70179a8ae4%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.richardsilverstein.com%2F2023%2F05%2F09%2Fgaza-house-of-slaughter%2F   A few days ago, Israel permitted a Palestinian hunger striker, Khader Adnan to die.  He had been arrested six times under administrative detention.  This allows Israel to hold a Palestinian indefinitely without trial or charges. 7,000-year-old Neolithic road was found underwater off Croatian island "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Picture
The Neolithic road was found after an archaeologist noticed 'strange structures' in the water nearby.
Situated in the pristine waters off the coast of the Croatian island of Korcula, the road, which can be found approximately 15ft beneath the Bay of Gradina, is thought to have been built around 7,000 years ago by a long-lost Neolithic maritime culture known as the Hvar.

Newly released footage shows underwater archaeologists removing sand and debris from the site.
"These are carefully stacked stone plates that were part of the four-meter-wide [road] that connected the artificially created island with the coast," the University of Zadar wrote on Facebook.

"By radiocarbon analysis dating of preserved wood found in the last campaign, the entire settlement dates back to around 4,900 BC. People walked on this [road] almost 7,000 years ago."

Exactly how the road was built, what it was used for and how long ago it fell into disrepair are all mysteries that the team will be hoping to solve in due course.

Each of their distinct practices contemplates themes of womanhood and femininity beyond patriarchal systems. In Object Fatale, Bozorgi examines the commercialization of the body using techniques suggestive of product photography. Vibrant Fungi Photos Capture the Beauty of Nature and Nostalgic Memories of Foraging for Mushrooms

Fungi Photography by Barbora Batokova

Though Barbora Batokova grew up in the city, she's always been a country girl at heart. In fact, she has fond memories of time spent with her family outside the city foraging mushrooms. This love of mushrooms stayed with her as she moved from her native Czech Republic to the United States for university. And as a way to stay connected with her heritage, she revisited the idea of photographing and foraging mushrooms. This gave birth to Fungiwoman, Batokova's Instagram and website, which is not only a collection of mushroom photography but a resource of information and inspiration.

Batokova has always been interested in the variety of shapes, sizes, and colors found in fungi and how they can be used as ingredients to create a delicious meal. But photographing them has opened up a whole new world for her.

I began to learn about the fascinating world of mushrooms and how powerful and amazing they are, she tells My Modern Met. They can do so much!

They are well known for their indispensable role in the forests and recycling organic matter, but there's so much more. Thanks to their chemical defenses and properties, they present a huge potential in medicine as well as in defense against bioterrorist threats. They can break down toxic waste, creating a huge potential for mycoremediation, a form of bioremediation in which fungi are used to decontaminate the environment.

Her Sister Went No Contact, But She Followed Her To College. Did She Go Too Far In Trying To Repair Their Relationship? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

If you think your life or sibling relationships were complicated growing up, wait until you hear about life in OPs household.

She was sick as a child, and the way her parents coped and helped her cope was to force her sister to be her full-time friend, entertainment, and sometimes caretaker.

Me and my sister used to be close, but when I was 5 and she was 7, I got sick up until I was 15. Because I was sick, my parents often stopped her from doing normal things on my account; at first, I was ok with her doing kid stuff.

But at one point I got bitter and kind of guilt-tripped my parents and her to let her stay with me, but I did that up until I was 12; after i noticed that it was leading to a strain in our relationship and her hating me, I tried to get back on her good side because she was no longer enthusiastic to stay with me like before, when we would play games and she would sing and do things with me,

I tried to convince my parents to let her do stuff because she would come back from school then spend 5 -7 hours with me then go home and that cycle would would repeat itself. but my parents still insisted on it and thought I was being brave, even though I would beg them to let her have a life.

This meant that, by the time her sister was nearly out of high school, she had no friends and zero social life outside her home.

When I turned 15, I had surgery and was doing better, but I was still dealing with some side effects from the drugs I was taking, but that only lasted for a year.

My parents had finally let her do things that she wanted to do. This was like midway through her junior year. But the damage was already done; she had stopped communicating with me and my parents.

Like when wed sit down to dinner and she&#821...

Why We Never Visited Michael Heizers City "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

We knew that Michael Heizers installation City would be impossible to visit when we made our way through the Nevada desert in the summer of 2016 with a field trip investigating technical lands of the American desert for students in history and practice of art, architecture, and science. As our chartered bus departed the Center for Land Use Interpretation, Wendover, on the morning of August 22, we cued up a complicated satellite compass/phone system that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology provided to our group as a safety measure, preparing to announce the moment when we passed near to City (we had already abandoned the idea of trying to enter).

But by the time our bus was barrelling down Route 318 to arrive at Heizers Double Negative before sunset (and a threatening thunderstorm), most of the passengers no longer the fresh, exuberant crowd that boarded some six hours ago were asleep, lulled by a land art documentary playing on bus monitors overhead. We counted down the half hour before Citys approach in roughly five-minute increments: Its coming up on the right, get ready! We hit the stretch of highway closest to City with little fanfare and with very few people other than us even glancing out the window. We saw a high, dark range of rock between our road and Heizers land some 30 miles away, which would have taken hours to reach had we attempted to travel on local roads. We...

Tom Hegens Aerial Photos of Spanish Olive Groves Reveal Undulating Patterns and Deep Traditions "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An aerial photograph of olive groves in Spain.

All images Tom Hegen, shared with permission

For millennia, Spain has been leading producer of olives thanks to the Mediterranean climates long, hot summers and mild winter temperatures. Harvested and cured in brine or ground up to extract the natural oils, the fruits are grown on trees planted in vast groves that stretch for miles over the undulating landscape. The region of Andalusia in particular boasts a time-honored tradition of olive cultivation, producing and exporting more than any other part of the country. For German photographer Tom Hegen, the rows and grid-like patterns of the groves presented an irresistible subject.

Known for his aerial photos of swaths of earth that have been impacted by human presence, such as salt extraction sites, Florida beaches, and solar plants, Hegen captures expansive Spanish landscapes that when viewed from above, morph into abstractions of pattern and texture. He highlights the immense monocultures that spread over nearly six million acres of Spanish countryside, documenting both large-scale agricultural production and smaller farms managed by individual families for whom producing olive oil is a centuries-old vocation.

FAQ About this Chicken Coop

How do I Insulate? - There are many different ways to insulate.  The ceiling can be insulated with foam board (attach with foam board fasteners to keep in place)  The floor can be insulated with a thick layer of straw.  Walls can be insulated with reflective insulation rolls, cardboard stapled on, or foam board - but may need 1/4" plywood overtop to prevent chickens from pecking at.  Doors can be covered in blankets for the winter.  Avoid an airtight seal, allow the coop to breathe to prevent dense, moist air from building up inside the coop.

Can I make double wide?  Yes, you could easily add 36" to the width to create a double sized coop and use two sheets of tin on the top.  I would love to create a plan if there is enough interest.

Is this heavy?  Yes, it is heavy.  My husband and I were able to move it, but it was not an easy task.  I would suggest a couple more hands to help move it.  Consider prefabbing up the panels and doors, then assembling the pieces at the final placement of the chicken coop.

Will it blow away in the wind?...

The Last Wonder: D.H. Lawrence on Death and the Best Lifelong Preparation for It "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Know thyself, and that thou art mortal. But know thyself, denying that thou art mortal.

The Last Wonder: D.H. Lawrence on Death and the Best Lifelong Preparation for It

To study philosophy is to learn to die, Montaigne wrote in his most famous essay as he reckoned with how to live. Indeed, we spend our lives learning to die while trying to bear our mortality, using our religions and our materialism to look away from the great unknown, to fill with myths and negations what is undeniably the supreme mystery on the other edge of existence. We may know what happens to our physical being when we die, but what happens to consciousness at the boundary of life remains the ultimate enigma.

A revelatory new study has found, through electrogram recordings, heightened brain activity and connectivity at the transition to death: Upon being taken off life-support equipment, patients exhibit a surge of gamma waves an indication of amplified rather than diminished consciousness. This finding, refuting the classic conception of death as a fade-out of consciousness, calls to mind a lovely line from a D.H. Lawrence poem composed at the end of his life, depicting...

AVAX Enters The Green Zone After Losing Gains As Bulls Gain Momentum "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

AVAX is trading in the $15 price range today, continuing its weeks price volatility. The bears seized control of its price action from April 19, 2023, forcing it down to $18.99. Since then, AVAXs volatility has placed it between $17 and $15 as the bulls seek to regain control.

Notably, its trading volume is up by 34.13% in the last 24 hours despite the price fluctuations in the market today. It also recorded price gains earlier today, May 9, before dipping again by over 3%.

AVAX Price Analysis

AVAX has resumed a downtrend as the bears and bulls compete to control the market. It is trading below its 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), with bearish sentiment in the short and long term.

Also, the Relative Strength Indicator (RSI) is 35.84, close to the oversold region of 30 and bearish. However, the RSIs direction is sideways, suggesting that the bears and bulls are even.

AVAXs Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is below its signal line and shows a negative value confirming the prevalent bearish trend in the market.

The current downtrend is similar to the previous trend between February 22 and March 13, 2023. If AVAXs RSI moves to the oversold region of 30, a retracement to the upside is possible.

AVAX encountered stiff resistance at the $17.67 level, sending the asset into a downtrend. Despite trading above the $16.35 resistance level yesterday, the bears pushed its price below the $15.85 support level.

AVAX Enters The Green Zone After Losing Gains, Are Bulls Coming To Rescue?

Since the $15.85 support could not hold, expect further decline for the asset to the $14.40 support if the bears persist. However, AVAX might rally if it enters into the oversold region.

WHO Plans To Launch GLOBAL DIGITAL HEALTH CERTIFICATE "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The World Health Organization (WHO) is still going ahead with its global digital health certificate even as it claims the COVID-19 scamdemic is finally over. The medical tyranny being pushed on the public is still there and is only going to get worse.

WHO Declares An END To COVID-19 Scamdemic

The implementation of the digital health certificate is among the 307 amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) proposed by 94 member nations of the WHO, according to Natural News. The proposed amendments to the IHR are a completely different set of proposals to the Pandemic Treaty. Amendments to the IHR were adopted in 2022 without Senate/Parliament confirmation. These amendments could easily be adopted in the same manner.

The Draft of the WHO Pandemic Treaty Promises to EQUALLY Destroy Your Rights

The World Health Assembly (WHA) will hold a meeting from May 21-30. In preparation for the upcoming meeting, attendees have been uploading documents, including a progress report called Report O.

The report states that there are plans to implement a Global Digital Health certification network.

In an episode of Steve Bannons War Room, James Roguski warned that while the Global Digital Health Certificate is on a voluntary basis, the authorities are currently building the infrastructure necessary to track and trace everybody on the planet. Natural News

As we know, nothing with the ruling class is ever voluntary. Thats why they use so much propaganda. No one would voluntarily agree to be a slave, yet when they lie and call it freedom, people line up like cattle.

Bull Bitcoin Launches No-KYC Purchasing Through Canadian Post Office "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Canadian Bitcoin exchange, Bull Bitcoin, has launched a new no-KYC (know-your-customer) service which enables users to buy bitcoin with cash or debit card. Users can go to any Canadian Post office, scan the QR code generated on the Bull Bitcoin app, and pay in cash or via debit card.

The funds are automatically added to the user's Bull Bitcoin account within a few minutes. Transactions of up to ~$745 ($999.99 CAD) can be made per transaction, with no KYC required. The exchange has a fee of 2% for no-KYC sats, the cheapest of any such service in Canada, according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine, while Bull Bitcoin's on-chain withdrawals remain free.

Canadian regulations state that Bitcoin exchanges must perform KYC and keep transaction records for all purchases above $1,000 CAD. Bull Bitcoin states that its privacy policy complies with the fair information principles in the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Document Act (PIPEDA), which prevents it from collecting information that is not needed for a legitimate purpose.

With no risk of chargeback for cash and debit card transactions, the company states that it has no legitimate reason to ask for KYC.

Bull Bitcoin aims to offer cash bitcoin purchases due to customer demand, and for those without access to bank accounts. The company also aims to attract migrant workers for remittances and users who want to limit the amount of personal information they give to trusted third parties. In addition, cash and debit card transactions are not subject to fraudulent chargebacks, unlike bank transfers and e-transfers. The process of funding accounts with cash or debit cards is also faster and more convenient.

Beautiful Botanicals Are Preserved as Meticulously Arranged Flower Press Art

Flower Pressed Studio Flower Pressed Art

The beauty of blooms is fleeting, but throughout history, we've found a gorgeous way to preserve them. Flower pressing allows us to enjoy the exquisite details of botanicals, from the petals to leaves to seeds. Flower Press Studio is dedicated to the centuries-old practice with lush compositions that celebrate florals while preserving them for prosperity. The brainchild of Rachel Parri and Keith Kralik, the couples most striking flower-pressed art showcases meticulous arranging that's reminiscent of a puzzle. Each bloom is perfectly placed in a way where its not touching another specimen but together still feels like a cohesive bunch.

Parri and Kralik began Flower Press Studio through an interest in gardening. When COVID-19 hit, they xeriscaped their front and backyard and planted flowers and vegetables along with two beehives. In the summer of 2021, Parris garden was producing a lot of blooms, and Kralik began pressing the flowers and building frames for them. Flower Press Studio officially began in October 2021.

Since then, the couple has preserved bridal bouquets (although they are shifting away from it) and are creating compositions to become limited-edition prints. They also intend to share their knowledge through online classes, coming in summer 2023. In the meantime, they offer advice for anyone who would like to try flower pressing.

If you are a flower enthusiast and enjoy colors and variety, you should check out your local CSA [community supported agriculture] or contact neighboring flower farms (if you have them), Kralik tells My Modern Met. You may learn a thing or two about flowers, you will support a family or very small business that puts in endless hours to produce sustainably grown and beautiful blooms, and you will walk away with more vibrant flowers.

Dear Mother "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

The Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, ca. 1880. Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons.

In the second half of the seventies, when I was in my twenties, I wrote letters home to Ireland from Barcelona. Early in 1976, for example, from my pension on the corner of Carrer de la Portaferrissa and Carrer del Pi, I described my first visit to the Liceu opera house.

Dear Mother,

The walls in this small, cheap hotel are thin. The man in the next room listens to opera on the radio. He looks like someone who has seen little daylight, but instead he has seen many operas, as he tried to explain to me in broken versions of several languages. Two days ago, he was waiting for me in the corridor. At first, I thought a fire had broken out or the police had, once more, attacked the people. He was saying something that clearly would require quick action on my part. Having calmed him down and got a dictionary, I realized that he had seen a production at the Liceu that was special, and he believed that I, as a matter of urgency, should see it too. It was Puccinis La Boheme, and it starred Montserrat Caball.

It was hard to know what to do when I went to the box office. Some of the prices for individual tickets would also buy you a studio apartment in the city. I bought the second cheapest type of ticket. When I showed it to my opera-crazed neighbor, he peered at it for some time, turned it around to check the back, and then shook his head. But this made no sense. It was the precise opera he had recommended, in the very venue he had suggested. What could be wrong with this ticket?

On the night in question, I arrived in good time. When I showed my ticket at the front door, I was directed to another door, less grand and auspicious, at the side. From there began a set of stairs that rose endlessly and grew narrower as they got higher. When, eventually, I found my seat, I discovered that I had no view at all of the stage, none. Standing up would not help, because there was not enough head room to stand up. Soon, others arrived and took up th...

TEXAS SHOOTING: Was the killer REALLY a white supremacist? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Another gun-related tragedy hit America over the weekend, this time outside a mall in Allen, Texas. And, unsurprisingly, the reaction from politicians and media pundits turned political almost immediately. In fact, despite not presenting evidence to the public, some are now reporting the killer was a white supremacist. But can we trust what the government and the media tell us? And if the gun is to blame me for this shooting, then what about the car that took just as many lives in Brownsville? And why is the media already releasing information about the Allen, TX shooter, but we still know very little about the ones in Las Vegas and Nashville? Glenn and Stu discuss all this, plus more

Adorable Needle Felted Pup Portraits Burst From Picture Frames Into Real Life "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Adorable Needle Felted Pup Portraits Burst From Picture Frames Into Real Life

Custom Dog Portrait

If you have a dog, you know that they are the best companions. Canines celebrate our happiest moments and also are by our side during the most difficult ones. Artist Anneli Kirby, aka AnneliFelts, commemorates beloved pups in her custom 3D dog portraits created using the needle felting technique. The portraits feature a front-on view of the subject done in a style that combines realism with Kirbys own artistic flair. Set into picture frames, the sculptures stick out past their edges to appear as though they are about to jump into real life.

Kirby began needle felting in order to create portraits of her own two dogs. I started off trying to make the little handheld sculptures that are popular with most felt artists and they didnt come out how I wanted, she tells My Modern Met, and I wasnt sure what to do with them. Wanting to add something fun to her gallery wall, she framed the pieces and liked the result. The combination of the dimensionality and anchored surface allow for an easy way to display the pet portrait while still allowing a rich view of the canine and the artist's handiwork.

Kirby has cultivated her own style by not trying to capture every detail of a dog. A Reel-to-Reel Recorder Animates Wildlife Automata Using Carl Sagans Warning of Climate Disasters "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A new advertisement for the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability program in the world, recalls the nearly 40-year-old speeches of the prescient American scientist and cosmologist Carl Sagan. Famously testifying to Congress in 1985 to alert of the dangers of a warming environment, Sagan was an unflinching advocate for transitioning the world away from fossil fuels and protecting the planet for generations to come.

In Carl Sagans Message, the Brazilian production company Boiler Filmes and ad agency AlmapBBDO bring the scientists words back to life alongside a menagerie of wildlife automata. As a reel-to-reel audio recorder plays his speeches, a kangaroo, elephant, moose, and moreall of which were created by artist Pablo Lavezzaribegin to wiggle. Each is part of a larger installation, a fitting metaphor for the connection of all living beings.

Throughout the nearly two-minute ad, Sagan warns, Were doing something immensely stupidThe abundance of greenhouse gases is increasing. One degree of temperature change is enough to produce widespread suffering and famine worldwide. Unfortunately in 2023, the planet has already surpassed one degree, and we now face the immense task of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celcius. 40 years ago it was urgent, the ad reads. Now its an emergency.

Is the Next Bitcoin Bull Run Tied To The US Presidential Elections? Heres What History Tells Us "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin (BTC), the worlds first and largest cryptocurrency, has been associated with several bull runs over the years. One of the most notable uptrends occurred in 2012, and financial analyst and cryptocurrency expert Aditya Siddhartha has linked it to the United States of America (USA) Presidential Elections.

Why Does The US Presidential Elections Matter For Bitcoin?

According to Siddhartha, the 2012 Bull Run of Bitcoin was preceded by a significant drop in BTCs price, with a decrease of 52% observed in the market. However, after the moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) Bullish Crossover and all major exponential moving average (EMA) Bullish Crossovers, the market started to gain momentum, and the bull run began.

Bitcoin

In the case of BTCs 2012 bull market, the MACD and EMA indicators provided positive signals, leading to increased investor confidence and a surge in demand for Bitcoin. This resulted in a post-Presidential Elections bull run, with Bitcoins price increasing by 11800%.

On the same note, Siddhartha observed that in 2016, BTCs price experienced a drop of 41% in the run-up to the Presidential Elections. However, after the MACD Bullish Crossover and all major EMA Bullish Crossovers, the market began to gain momentum, and the uptrend started.

Following the Presidential Elections, Bitcoins price experienced a post-election bull run, with the price increasing by a staggering 2800%. This surge in price was driven by increased demand from investors and a growing awareness of Bitcoins potential as a store of value and digital asset.

In 2020, Bitcoin saw a significant drop of 22% before the presidential elections. This drop was largely due to the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the elections and the potential impact it could have on the economy and the stock market.

However, according to Siddhartha, following the Presidential Elections, Bitcoins price experienced a post-election bull trend, with the...

He Told His Niece Not Everyone Believes In God. Was He Out Of Line? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Parents have to make many personal choices when it comes to how to raise their children. Religion is on that list, even if the decision made is to raise kids with a lack of religion.

OP knows his niece is being raised pretty intensely Christian and doesnt love it. That said, they never said anything about it until the little girl stated they needed to pray before dinner at a third partys house.

Went to dinner at a family members house. My niece was there and said we need to pray before we eat.

She is 6 years old, but according to previous talks with her mother she has a great fear and love for Jesus still makes me cringe.

OP informed her that not everyone prays, to which she replied that people who dont are going to the bad place. So, they told her not everyone believes that either.

I told her not everyone prays, so she said her mom told her if you dont pray you are going to hell. I said I dont believe in any of that and that other people have different beliefs.

They said that while everyone is allowed to believe what they want, they dont think its ok to force those beliefs on others.

Its ok to believe in something but not okay to try and force it on other people.

I did NOT force my views on her, I simply told her that there are other beliefs out there.

The girls mom is angry and thinks he was out of bounds, but was he?

Now her mom is mad at me that I told her that. AITA?

Reddits got their answers coming!

The top comment thinks OP is a good influence, and hopes they dont get themselves kicked out of the kids life altogether....

Central Bank Gold Buying Off To A Record-Breaking Start In 2023, Led By Singapore "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.

It may not be the off-the-charts gold buying observed in the second half of 2022, but central bank gold buying made a blistering start to 2023 when according to the latest report from the World Gold Council, demand for the hard currency by the worlds money-printing authorities reached 228 tonnes in Q1, a 176% increase compared to the 82.7 tonnes one year ago.

While lower than the figures seen in the previous two quarters this was nonetheless the strongest first quarter on record. According to the WGC, This is all the more impressive considering it follows the record-breaking pace of demand last year.

The rolling four-quarter total soared to a record 1,224 tonnes in Q1 following massive buying in recent quarters. As with the figures for both Q3 and Q4 2022, data for the current quarter contains a significant estimate for unreported activity.

Four central banks accounted for the majority of reported purchasing during Q1:

  • The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) was the largest single buyer during the quarter thanks to the addition of 69 tonnes of gold, the first increase in its gold reserves since June 2021, confirming that buying in Q1 was not only the domain of emerging market central banks. Gold reserves at MAS now total 222t, 45% higher than at the end of 2022.
  • The Peoples Bank of China (PBoC) disclosed that its gold reserves had risen by 58t. Since recommencing reports of purchases in November 2022, the PBoC has added 120t to its gold reserves, lifting them to 2,068t (4% of total reported gold reserves). Overnight, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange reported the latest, April, reserves data which revealed that Chinas gold reserves rose to a record 66.76 million...

Bitcoin Plunge Under $28,000 Only Temporary? This Metric Suggests So "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin has now plunged under the $28,000 level, but the data of an on-chain indicator may suggest that this drop could only be temporary.

Bitcoin Short-Term Holder SOPR Has Dropped Just Under The 1 Level

As pointed out by an analyst in a CryptoQuant post, the current values of the metric have generally served as ideal buying opportunities during rallies in the past.

The relevant indicator here is the Spent Output Profit Ratio, which tells us whether the average Bitcoin investor is selling their coins at a profit or at a loss right now.

When this indicator has a value greater than 1, it means the profits being realized in the market are currently greater than the losses. On the other hand, values below this threshold suggest a dominance of loss-taking from the holders.

The SOPR being exactly equal to 1 naturally corresponds to a neutral state, where the average holder is just breaking even on their investment, as profits are equal to losses here.

While the SOPR is generally defined for the entire Bitcoin market, it can also be applied to specific segments of the market. In the context of the current discussion, the short-term holder (STH) segment is of interest.

The STHs make up a cohort that includes all investors who have been holding onto their coins since less than 155 days ago. The STHs who manage to hold beyond this threshold enter into the long-term holder (LTH) group.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin STH SOPR over the last few years:

Bitcoin STH SOPR

As displayed in the above graph, the Bitcoin STH SOPR was below the 1 mark during last years bear market, suggesting that the average STH had been selling at a loss in this period.

This is the typical behavior observed in bearish periods, as the constant price decline makes investors panic and sell at losses. An interesting pattern that is seen during such periods is that the line where SOPR attains a value of 1 starts providing resistance to the asset.

The reason this happens is that at this level, the STHs are selling at the price they boug...

Bitcoin Price In A Turbulent Week: This Crypto Market Strategist Weighs In "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin, the worlds largest and most well-known cryptocurrency, has had a tumultuous past few days, and according to Mike McGlone, a senior macro strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence, the volatility in the BTC market could very well impact other risk assets.

McGlone believes that BTCs influence on the market has become contagious, and as a result, other risk assets could be negatively affected if the price of BTC continues to decline.

McGlones comments are a reflection of the growing awareness of BTCs influence on the global economy. As BTC continues to gain mainstream acceptance and adoption, its movements are being closely watched by investors and policymakers alike.

Risk Assets At Risk? Bitcoin Network Congestion Raises Concerns

At a time when the Bitcoin network is currently facing unprecedented levels of congestion due to the influx of Ordinals, McGlone has shared his views on the potential impact of Bitcoins price decline on other risk assets.

Over the weekend, the congestion became so severe that major trading platforms like Binance were forced to temporarily halt some transactions.

According to McGlone on Twitter, if the current decline in the value of risk assets continues, Bitcoin has the potential to lead the rest of the volatile asset class downwards.

He emphasized that the influence of Bitcoin on the market is now contagious, and its impact can be felt across the financial system.

In other words, if Bitcoins price continues to drop, it could trigger a domino effect that results in the decline of other risky assets.

Bitcoins Network Congestion, Volatility Raise Regulatory Concerns

McGlones comments regarding the potential impact of Bitcoins price volatility on the broader financial system come at a time when investors are growing increasingly worried.

The cryptocurrencys fluctuations could potentially have ripple effects on the global economy, underscoring the need for regulatory oversight.

Meanwhile, the current BTC price, as reported by...

Gizas Great Pyramid: Culmination of Ancient Egypts Architectural Marvels "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The Unrivaled Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid of Giza, believed to be a colossal tomb for a pharaoh, stands as the zenith of ancient Egyptian pyramid construction. This awe-inspiring structure signaled the pinnacle of ancient Egyptian society over 4,500 years ago and marked a new era in temple building. Despite the grandiosity of the Great Pyramid, its construction process remains shrouded in mystery.

A Nations Feat The Unified Construction Effort

The construction of the Great Pyramid involved the entire nation, illustrating the well-developed society of ancient Egypt. The pyramids construction showcased Egypts thriving economy and well-coordinated logistics. Some stones, sourced from Aswan800 kilometers awayreached the construction site via boats, a testament to the skillful labor, supervisors, and transportation methods employed.

Staggering Statistics The Great Pyramids Dimensions

Encompassing 13 acres, the Great Pyramid comprises 2.3 million stones, totaling about 6 million tons. With 5.5 million tons of limestone, 8,000 tons of granite, and over 500,000 tons of mortar, this remarkable structure was completed within 20 years. The alignment with the compass points and the staggering weight of individual stonesaveraging 2.5 tonsunderscore the ancient civilizations extraordinary capabilities.

Mysteries Unraveled The Golden Ratio and Architectural Precision

Researchers discovered a relationship between the Great Pyramid and the golden ratio, with measurements showing minimal margin of error. The pyramids unmatched precision might have symbolized cultic significance, or it could have been a response to previous architectural mishaps in the pyramids of Meidum or the Bent Pyramid. The reasons for such precision remain a mystery.

The Great Pyramid houses a labyrinth of unique chambers and passages, including ascending and descending passages, and air shafts not meant for ventilation. The structures interior beauty rivals its exterior grandeur, featuring elements unparalleled in pyramid evolution and architectural history.

How to Save Your Life and Those You Love When Hospitalized "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Story at-a-glance

  • Laura Bartlett and Greta Crawford have founded an organization to address the forced treatments patients receive when theyre hospitalized for COVID-19, but the same strategy can be used to protect yourself against other medical hazards as well
  • The Caregivers and Consent document they created is an advance decision document. So, the moment you enter the hospital, the hospital staff know what they can and cannot do to you; they are legally required to respect your current care decisions. And unlike an Advance Directive (which only kicks in when you are incapacitated) the Caregivers and Consent document goes into effect immediately
  • Its important to complete and notarize your Caregivers and Consent document BEFORE you ever need to go to the hospital
  • Make sure you send the completed, signed and notarized document to the CEO of the hospital in two ways: (1) via a professional courier (one that specializes in delivering legal documents); and (2) via the Postal system with certified mail, return receipt requested. The CEO is responsible for all legal business relating to the hospital, including the medical records, so the CEO, not your attending physician, is the one whose responsibility it is to get your consent document entered into your electronic medical record
  • Make at least 10 copies of the signed, notarized document and keep one copy on your person, in case you ever have an accident or acute illness requiring hospitalization. Also provide copies to the attending physician and nurse once hospitalized

The next wave of terror unleashed on humanity by the WHO "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The World Health Organization and the United Nations are two key players in the agenda for the submission of all of humanity to unprecedented tyranny. Their plans for mankind go far beyond the darkest nightmares of what anyone can even begin to imagine. Behind their brilliant masks of proclaimed humanitarian goals hides something so nefarious that many fail to believe it. This cannot be. Its impossible. There is no evil so horrible is there? In many previous reports, we have lifted the veil on their agendas for humanity. During the pandemic, we saw glimpses of their intensely dark plans: the WHO conducted "trials" in which they deliberately murdered thousands of people by administering non-therapeutic, lethal doses of hydroxychloroquine. One third of all involved patients died, and this data was then used to sell humanity the lie that this drug should be banned from all countries for the treatment of covid. While in reality, this proven and respected medicine saved the lives of millions worldwide who received the proper dosage.  The WHO also ordered all social media platforms to censor any and all truth about the pandemic - in particular, all information about working solutions, further hiding any life-saving answers from a suffering mankind. Thousands of scientists and physicians were silenced, resulting in the deliberate death of millions upon millions of people who could have easily been saved by one of the many effective treatments. Furthermore, the WHO pushed the tremendously destructive lie that an experimental, unproven vaccine was the only thing that could end the pandemic, causing the death of even more millions of people and the permanent disability of hundreds of millions.  In addition, the WHO's very launch of the pandemic was based on a fraudulent PCR test, whose o...

Is Your Money Safe During The Banking Crisis? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Brad Mills, host of the Magic Internet Money Podcast and an investor in several Bitcoin-focused projects.

Big banks are failing. Credit Suisse, one of the largest globally-systemic important banks (G-SIBs) in the world at $1.2 trillion in total assets, has recently failed, requiring a bailout from the Swiss central bank.

Before the era of quantitative easing (QE), Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility (TARF) and Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) bailouts, bank failures were common. Allowing excess risk to flush from the system is a healthy part of free markets. Almost 500 banks failed during the Great Financial Crisis (GFC).

During the last decade of QE, barely any banks failed while economists, central bankers and politicians have been continually and confidently assuring us that their stress tests are keeping the banking system sound.

Is it a coincidence that during the last decade, as governments, central banks and commercial banks worked together to expand the money supply faster and higher than ever before in history, that banks stopped failing?

Have banks stopped failing over the last seven to eight years because banks are safer and more conservative, or is it because record amounts of money printing and government bailouts have moved the risk from bank balance sheets to somewhere else, simply delaying the inevitable?

Did moving this risk from bank balance sheets to the central banks balance sheets via deficit spending, stimulus, QE and bailouts actually help keep your deposits safer, or has it actually caused wealth inequality to rise, debased the value of your savings account and contributed to high inflation rates which makes the dollars in your bank worth less?

the mean of bank failures anyway? Is there a way to protect yourself from the extremely-unlikely event of hyperinflation, or the more-likely event of a deflationary bust or continued high inflation due to governments printing money to...

Shiba Inu Unlikely To Reach All-Time High Again: Experts "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Shiba Inu price is currently in deep bearish territory. After being rejected at the 200-day EMA in mid-April (blue line) and breaking the ascending trend line on the 1-day chart to the downside on April 20 (black line), the SHIB price is now in free fall.

Yesterday, the SHIB price initially received support at $0.00000839 on the 1-day chart. However, if a trend reversal does not follow soon, the Shiba Inu price could drop towards the local low at $0.00000779 from December 28. This would erase all price advances since the beginning of the year.

For now, the RSI on the daily chart is at 24, in oversold territory. For the return of a tentative bullish momentum, the SHIB price needs to break the key resistance at $0.000010. Otherwise, a retest of the December 2022 low seems inevitable.

Will Shiba Inu Ever Reach Its All-Time High Again?

Even though the Shiba Inu price is extremely bearish at the moment, the meme coin still has one of the strongest communities hoping for better times once Shibarium and SHIB : The Metaverse are live on the mainnet. However, two well-known crypto experts and influencers have expressed their doubts today.

According to Mason Versluis, founder of crypto community Gold Squad, and Tony JRNY, founder of NFT project JRNY Club, the chances of SHIB reaching its all-time high of $0.00008845 from October 2021 again are slim. At the current price, that means Shiba Inu would have to rise over 930%.

Versluis wrote on Twitter, I am pretty confident $SHIB will never go past all time high again ($0.00008845) What do yall think?. Tony replied that there would have to be some groundbreaking utility and FOMO for this to happen. Versluis agreed and added:

Ethereum Gas Fees Skyrocket: What Does It Mean For Investors? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum, the worlds second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is currently facing a significant issue: soaring gas fees.

Gas fees, also known as transaction fees, are payments made to miners on the Ethereum network for processing transactions. These fees have been rising steadily over the past few months, reaching record highs in recent days.

The situation has left traders and investors concerned about the long-term viability of the Ethereum network, as high fees could discourage users from utilizing the platform.

High Gas Fees On Ethereum Network Despite Transition To PoS

Based on a recent report by crypto analytics provider WhaleAlert, a single transaction on the Ethereum network cost a trader approximately $118,600 in fees, which translates to 64 ETH.

While high gas fees are not a new phenomenon on Ethereum, they have become relatively rare since the networks transition from the proof-of-work (PoW) to the proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol through The Merge

This shift was expected to reduce congestion on the network, but the current high gas fees suggest otherwise.

Possible Cause: Meme Coin Hype, Network Congestion

The recent spike in network activity is said to be a result of the meme coin craze (see chart below), which has created intense network activity, causing congestion during the weekend.

This activity reached its peak when Binance, a popular crypto exchange, listed PEPE tokens and Floki Inu for trading on its platform.

Prominent nanoscientist retracts paper after PhD students flagged error "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Paul Weiss

The authors of a 2018 nanoscience paper have retracted the article after three doctoral students highlighted a problem with its methods.

The 2018 study attracted media attention for suggesting that nanospears, microscopic structures similar to splinters, may be useful in delivering gene therapies.

Paul Weiss, a nanoscientist and a corresponding author of the paper, announced the retraction on Twitter April 5, the same day the retraction notice appeared. Weiss holds several academic positions, including Presidential Chair of Chemistry and Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The study, Precision-Guided Nanospears for Targeted and High-Throughput Intracellular Gene Delivery, was published in ACS Nano, of which Weiss was a founding editor-in-chief. It has been cited 80 times, according to Clarivates Web of Science.

The retraction notice stated:

The authors retract this article (DOI: 10.1021/acsnano.8b00763) as the fluorescence method by which the transfection efficiency was determined is unreliable and incorrect and led to greatly overestimated values of efficiency. The original data are also no longer available and cannot be verified.

We thank Drs. Jason Belling, Alexandra Mendoza, and Natcha Wattanatorn for bringing the measurement issue to our attention.

We reached out to Xiaodong Chen, the journals editor-in-chief and a professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, for comment and heard back from an ACS spokesperson, who said:

PEPE, FLOKI, SHIB: Insiders Spill The Beans On Meme Coin Investing "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Meme coins are currently the dominating trend on the crypto market once again due to PEPE. After the furious price rallye of PEPE, investors are feverishly looking for the next meme coin that makes 100x.

Whether this trend will continue for much longer or if this marks a top for the crypto market remains to be seen. However, historically, the meme coin hype marked local highs for the Bitcoin price (and thus the rest of the market).

Whales Reveal All About Meme Coins Like PEPE

In a new Twitter thread, Frank Rotman, co-founder QED Investors, spilled the beans about meme coins. QED Investors is a leading VC in the fintech space and has AUM of $3.2 billion. The company has already invested $662 million in startups. So Rotman is well connected and knows what hes talking about.

In recent days, Rotman has spoken with traders who have put anywhere from $500 to more than $20 million into meme coins and their views are eye-opening, the venture capitalist says. The biggest insight was (although not shocking): Memes coins are a game.

The concept of the game, according to Rotman, is to attract as many other participants as possible to the list of game participants. Your goal is to convince people that being on the list is cool. Once people are on the list, they are expected to tweet funny images or diagrams to generate FOMO for the game.

However, the number on the list matters because members can sell new players as much or as little as they want, with prices fluctuating based on supply and demand. Ultimately, this proves that the founders and previous investors are the biggest profiteers from such a Ponzi scheme.

The answers Rotman has received are extremely revealing. Big investors are aware of the game. One anonymous person said:

Its a damn fun game once youre in it. You get to act like an idiot, annoy everyone around you...
