JPMorgan's Ties to Jeffrey Epstein Were Deeper Than the Bank Has Acknowledged "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

JPMorgan Chase & Co. had ties to Jeffrey Epstein that ran deeper than the bank has acknowledged and extended years beyond when it decided to close the convicted sex offender's accounts. Mary Erdoes, a top lieutenant to Chief Executive Jamie Dimon, made two trips to Epstein's townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side, in 2011 and 2013, when Epstein still was a client of the bank, said the people familiar with the matter. She exchanged dozens of emails with him and discussed sharing with him fees related to a charitable fund the bank was considering launching. John Duffy, who ran JPMorgan's U.S. private bank for the ultrarich, went to Epstein's townhouse for a meeting in April 2013, the people said. One month later, the private bank renewed an authorization allowing Epstein to borrow money against his accounts despite repeated warnings from compliance staffers about his unusual banking practices. Justin Nelson, one of Epstein's bankers at JPMorgan, had about a half-dozen meetings at Epstein's townhouse between 2014 and 2017. He also traveled to Epstein's ranch in New Mexico in 2016. Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution in 2008 and forced to register as a sex offender. The new details show that JPMorgan was treating Epstein like a star client after his first conviction and despite repeated warnings from its own employees. And after JPMorgan closed Epstein's accounts, bankers kept meeting with him for years.

Lab-created bird flu virus accident shows lax oversight of risky 'gain of function' research "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Inside the high-security Influenza Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, two experienced scientists were pulling ferrets out of their HEPA-filtered cages on a Monday in December 2019. Another researcher, still in training, was also in the room to watch and learn. This particular experiment involved exposing the animals to a highly controversial lab-engineered strain of H5N1 avian influenza virus. Scientists had taken an avian influenza virus that was mostly dangerous to birds and manipulated it in ways that potentially increased its threat to humans. The research was supported [by] Dr. Francis S. Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. On that December day, two experienced researchers from Kawaoka's team were helping train a colleague as they collected samples from ferrets. One of their most important pieces of personal protective equipment was the air-purifying respirator that each wore. As one of the senior researchers prepared to start collecting samples from the next round of ferrets, the trainee realized there was a problem with their respirator. The powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) hose had somehow disconnected from the unit. The detached hose dangled loose in the lab's potentially contaminated air. In the end, the trainee apparently didn't become infected. But how the university and the lab oversight system handled the incident should be cause for concern.

Australian government is hit with class action lawsuit over Covid vaccines "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A landmark Covid-19 vaccine injury class action lawsuit has been filed against the Australian government and the medicines regulator. The nation-wide suit, which reportedly has 500 members including three named applicants, seeks redress for those allegedly left injured or bereaved by the Covid-19 vaccines. One of the applicants who suffered a severe heart condition after getting the Pfizer jab is even claiming there was 'cover-up' during the vaccine rollout which hid the potential risks. The federal government, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Department of Health - in addition to a number of senior public servants - are all named as parties to the class action, which was filed in the New South Wales Federal Court. The named parties are accused of negligence in their approval and monitoring of Covid-19 vaccines, breach of statutory duty and misfeasance in public office. Instructing solicitor Natalie Strijland, of Brisbane law firm NR Barbi, said the action would argue the TGA caused considerable harm and damage by failing to regulate the COVID-19 vaccinations properly. The class action names three applicants, one of whom is 41-year old father-of-two Gareth O'Gradie. Mr O'Gradie, a teacher from Melbourne, was left with a 20-centimetre scar down his chest after developing severe pericarditis inflammation of the lining around the heart following his first Pfizer vaccination in July 2021. In February 2022 doctors performed open heart surgery to remove his the pericardial sac lining his heart.

COVID-19 vaccine claims yield small payouts from U.S. government "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Of more than 8,000 people who filed claims with the federal government alleging injuries from COVID-19 vaccines, three have now received cash payouts, new government data shows. Their combined compensation? Less than $5,000. One person who had an anaphylactic reaction to the shot received $2,020 from the government's Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program, or CICP. Another who got myocarditis an inflammation of the heart muscle from the jab received $1,583, while a second myocarditis sufferer got $1,033, according to the data, which was released last week. A third myocarditis patient's claim was approved but the person was denied compensation due to lack of eligible expenses. The CICP has doled out just three small awards confirms [that] the government program is ill-suited to adjudicate these cases. The no-fault tribunal run by the Health Resources and Services Administration is stymied by statute in the relief it can offer, with compensation limited to unreimbursed medical expenses and up to $50,000 a year in lost wages. A death benefit of up to $422,035 may also be available. There's no allowance for pain and suffering, no punitive damages, no attorneys' fees, no public hearings or opinions, no right to judicial appeal. But it's the only legal recourse available for the unlucky few who have experienced serious adverse effects from the vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine makers are indemnified by the government and are not party to CICP proceedings.

Note: This article attributes vaccine injuries to the "unlucky few." However, an increasing amount of evidence makes it clear that vaccine injuries are more common than what we're told, as revealed in countless anecdotal stories of those significantly harmed from the vaccine and Pfizer's very own disclosed documents. America only had a handful of billionaires 40 years ago. We're now creating 'centibillionaires'and unless we tax them, trillionaires "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The centibillionaire clubthose with over $100 billion in wealthlikely will be welcoming a new member soon. Forbes now estimates Michael Bloomberg's wealth at $94.5 billion, making him the sixth richest American. If his wealth continues to grow at the rate it's grown since 2013, Michael Bloomberg will join the centibillionaire club by the end of the year. At that point, he will be the 10th American to have reached that wealth level. Forty years ago, the mere billionaire club had just 13 members, and Daniel Ludwig, the richest American at the time, had a total wealth (adjusted for inflation) of $6.15 billion. Today, $1 billion of wealth in one person's hands often means far too much political power, but that astounding amount of money is now considered a rounding error in the context of America's largest fortunes. America's 20 richest billionaires spent more than the entire Biden campaign on the 2020 elections. According to political scientists Jeffrey Winters and Benjamin Page, the political influence of each of the 400 richest Americans is 22,000 times that of the average member of the bottom 90%. What all Americans whose wealth has passed the $100 billion threshold have in common ... is tax avoidance. Between 2013 and 2018, none made federal income tax payments greater than 11% of their wealth growthand all but two paid less than 5%. Even Ronald Reagan recognized that it's "crazy" for a society to tax a bus driver at a higher rate than a millionaire.

Note: The pandemic response sharply increased the wealth of billionaires. For more along these lines, see concise summaries of deeply revealing news articles on income inequality from reliable major media sources.

Lockdowns, school closures and limiting gatherings only reduced COVID mortality by 0.2% at 'enormous economic and social costs', study finds "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The original coronavirus lockdowns had 'little to no' effect on pandemic death tolls in the US, UK and Europe, a controversial report suggests. Economists who carried out a meta-analysis found draconian restrictions imposed in spring 2020 including stay-at-home orders, compulsory masks and social distancing only reduced Covid mortality by 0.2 per cent. They warned that lockdowns caused 'enormous economic and social costs' and concluded they were 'ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument' going forward. The review, led by a Johns Hopkins University professor, argued that border closures had virtually zero effect on Covid mortality, reducing deaths by just 0.1 per cent. There has been a growing consensus that draconian restrictions have led to a rise in non-Covid deaths, thought to be people whose conditions worsened during the pandemic when they could not access healthcare. In the latest report, the researchers admit their review does not answer 'why' lockdowns didn't achieve their ultimate goal in saving lives but they float a number of explanations. They claimed the best explanation for differing Covid death rates in countries was 'differences in population age and health' and the 'quality of the health sector. But they could not rule out 'less obvious factors, such as culture, communication, and coincidences'. Covid deaths are also skewed by the volume of testing each country carries out, which many scientists have highlighted as the driving factor behind Britain's large toll.

3 prominent economists slam COVID lockdowns and school closures and say they should never happen again "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

When the COVID outbreak began in early 2020, a number of studies predicted that government-imposed lockdowns would prove highly effective in preventing deaths. A widely cited epidemiological paper by researchers at Imperial College London predicted that such measures as bans on travel and shelter-in-place mandates would reduce mortality from the virus by 98%. But now, a new analysis by three prominent economists that surveys all empirical data from the academic literature measuring the relationship between death and lockdowns finds that forced restrictions didn't work. Their conclusion: Lockdowns reduced mortalities by a minuscule 0.2%. The study defines lockdowns as "compulsory non-pharmaceutical interventions," or what's commonly known as NPIs. They include restrictions on travel, school closures, bans on international travel, restrictions on movement within a country's borders, and mask mandates. The authors note that lockdowns were virtually universal. Of the 186 nations followed by the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker, all but one - the Indian Ocean island nation of Comoros - imposed at least one NPI by the end of March 2020. The U.S. paid a huge price in lost jobs, businesses that never reopened, and kids deprived of going to school - not to mention the deep malaise that caused a pandemic of suicides. The world's citizens left to their own devices would have handled the pandemic better, and ... fewer lives would perhaps have been lost with no lockdowns at all.

More than half of humans on track to be overweight or obese by 2035 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

More than half of the world's population will be overweight or obese by 2035 unless governments take decisive action to curb the growing epidemic of excess weight, a report has warned. About 2.6 billion people globally 38% of the world population are already overweight or obese. But on current trends that is expected to rise to more than 4 billion people (51%) in 12 years' time, according to research by the World Obesity Federation. Obesity among children and young people is on course to increase faster than among adults. By 2035 it is expected to be at least double the rate seen in 2020, according to the federation's latest annual World Obesity Atlas report. It is expected to rise by 100% among boys under 18, leaving 208 million affected, but go up even more sharply by 125% among girls the same age, which would see 175 million of them affected. The federation is an alliance of health, scientific, research and campaign groups, and works closely on obesity with various global agencies. It wants governments to use tax systems; restrictions on the marketing of foods that are high in fat, salt or sugar; front-of-pack labels; and provision of healthy food in schools to address rising obesity. The federation's report also highlights that many of the world's poorest countries are facing the sharpest increases in obesity yet are the least well prepared to confront the disease. Nine of the 10 countries set to experience the biggest rises in coming years are low- or middle-income nations in Africa and Asia.

Lockheed Martin Got $106 From the Average Taxpayer, While Renewables Got Just $6 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The average U.S. taxpayer in 2022 spent over four times as much on Pentagon contractors than on primary and secondary education, according to the annual Tax Day analysis published in recent days by the Institute for Policy Studies' National Priorities Project. NPP found that, on average, American taxpayers contributed $1,087 to Pentagon contractors, compared with $270 for K-12 education. The top military contractor Lockheed Martin received $106 from the average taxpayer, while just $6 went to funding renewable energy. According to the analysis, the average 2022 U.S. taxpayer: Paid $74 for nuclear weapons, and just $43 for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Spent $70 on deportations and border control, versus just $19 for refugee assistance; Contributed $20 for federal prisons, and just $11 for anti-homelessness programs; and Gave $298 to the top five military contractors, and just $19 for mental health and substance abuse. "The main message? Our government is continuing to invest too much in the military, and in militarized law enforcement, and not nearly enough on prevention, people, and our communities," NPP said. NPP's analysis comes just over a month after the White House released President Joe Biden's $1.6 trillion budget request for fiscal year 2024. More than half of that amount$886 billion would go to the military.

Will China's Push for Multipolar World End US Global Domination? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

China is taking an increasingly assertive role in world affairs, helping to broker a restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, offering a 12-point peace plan for Ukraine, and strengthening its relationships with European and Latin American powers. Last week, China continued its diplomatic outreach by offering to hold talks between Israel and Palestine. "What China is after, if we view it from China's perspective, is what was also said: true multilateralism. And what that means, or true multipolarity, another term that they use, and that means they don't want a U.S.-led world, they want a multipolar world," [said Jeffrey Sachs at Columbia University]. "And while the United States sometimes talks about a rule-based order, the fact of the matter is that ... the grand strategists of the U.S. state see our grand strategy in the United States as being dominance. Well, China doesn't want the United States to be the preeminent power. It wants to live alongside the United States. But what's very important and interesting to understand, and we've seen it clearly in the dynamics involving the Ukraine war, most of the world also does not want the U.S. as the global preeminent power. Most of the world wants a multipolar world, and is, therefore, not lined up behind the United States' sanctions on Russia and so forth. In fact, the United States is withdrawing ... our politicians are withdrawing from the world financial and monetary scene and opening up the space for a completely different kind of international finance."

Researchers Use Algae to Power a Computer for Months "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

<p style= "text-align: justify; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0 0 11pt 0;"> <strong>Researchers have discovered how to use cyanobacteriacommonly called blue-green algaeto continuously power a microprocessor for a span of more than six months. The system, which uses inexpensive and largely recyclable materials, contains a type of non-toxic photosynthetic algae called Synechocystis</strong>, <a href= "https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news/scientists-create-reliable-biological-photovoltaic-cell-using-algae" target="_blank">per a statement</a>. The research was published in the journal <a href= "https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2022/EE/D2EE00233G" target="_blank"><em>Energy & Environmental Science. "We were impressed by how consistently the system worked over a long period of timewe thought it might stop after a few weeks but it just kept going," says Paolo Bombelli, a researcher from the University of Cambridge's Department of Biochemistry and lead author of the paper. The scientists created an enclosure out of aluminum and clear plastic and put the bacteria inside it. The device, which is about the size of a AA battery, was placed on a windowsill in Bombelli's home during Covid-19 lockdown in 2021 and remained there from February to August. The bacteria powered an Arm Cortex M0+ processora microprocessor widely used in the network of appliances connected to the internet, also called the Internet of Things (IoT). The cyanobacteria produced energy even without light, perhaps because they process some of their food in the dark, which generates an electrical current. Several billion IoT devices already exist, and that number is expected to rise to one trillion by 2035. Powering all those devices would require 109,000 tons of lithium, which is three times more than what the world produced in 2017.</p> <p style= "text-align: justify; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0 0 11pt 0;"> <strong>Note:</strong> Explore a treasure trove of concise summaries of incredibly <a href= "https://www.wanttoknow.info/inspirationalnewsarticles" target= "_blank">inspiring news articles</a> which will inspire you to make a difference.</p>

Seal's mystery ability to tolerate toxic metal could aid medical research, say scientists "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

One of the world's most isolated aquatic mammals, Arctocephalus philippii, can tolerate high levels of cadmium, as well as other metallic pollutants, without suffering ill effects. A. philippii is the second smallest species of fur seal and lives only on the Juan Fernndez archipelago and one or two nearby islands in the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of miles off the coast of Chile. By the 19th century, the species had disappeared and was believed to be extinct until, in the 1960s, a small colony was found in a cave on the island. Since then, the Juan Fernndez seal, which has become a protected species, has slowly recovered and has a population of around 80,000. "We collected samples of their faeces and found they contained extremely high levels of cadmium and other elements such as mercury," said Constanza Toro-Valdivieso of Cambridge University's conservation research institute. "The discovery was very surprising," she said. "Cadmium is poisonous to mammals but somehow these seals were processing it and passing it through their digestive systems and seem to be suffering little harm in the process." High levels were found not only in its faeces but in the bones of seals that had died of natural causes. The researchers also found high levels of silicon in their bones, which may be offsetting the impact of cadmium, they suggest. "The discovery that these animals appear to tolerate high levels of cadmium in their bodies has important medical implications," said Toro-Valdivieso. "These animals have a lot to tell us."

Botanist Stefano Mancuso: 'You can anaesthetise all plants. This is extremely fascinating' "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Stefano Mancuso is a pioneer in the plant neurobiology movement, which seeks to understand "how plants perceive their circumstances and respond to environmental input in an integrated fashion". Mancuso teaches at the University of Florence, his alma mater, where he runs the International Laboratory of Plant Neurobiology. He has written five bestselling books on plants. "Communication means you are able to emit a message and there is something able to receive it, and in this sense plants are great communicators. If you are unable to move, if you are rooted, it's of paramount importance for you to communicate a lot," [said Mancuso]. "Plants are obliged to communicate a lot, and they use different systems. The most important is through volatiles, or chemicals that are emitted in the atmosphere and received by other plants. It's an extremely sophisticated form of communication, a kind of vocabulary. Every single molecule means something, and they mix very different molecules to send a specific message. My approach to studying consciousness in plants ... started by seeing if they were sensitive to anaesthetics and found that you can anaesthetise all plants by using the same anaesthetics that work in humans. This is extremely fascinating. We were thinking that consciousness was something related to the brain, but I think that both consciousness and intelligence are more embodied, relating to the entire body."

Psychologist's death due to AstraZeneca Covid vaccine reaction "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The death of a psychologist after his Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab was due to "unintended complications of the vaccine", an inquest has ruled. Stephen Wright, an NHS employee in south-east London, died 10 days after his first dose in January 2021, senior coroner Andrew Harris found. Dr Wright, 32, suffered a blood clot to the brain after receiving the vaccine. His wife Charlotte has been trying to get the "natural causes" wording on her husband's death certificate changed. She is pursuing legal action against the pharmaceutical company. At London Inner South Coroner's Court, Mr Harris described it as a "very unusual and deeply tragic case". Dr Wright suffered from a combination of a brainstem infarction, bleed on the brain and "vaccine-induced thrombosis", the inquest heard. His condition rapidly worsened, but the nature of the bleed meant he was unfit for surgery. After the inquest, Mrs Wright ... said: "It was made clear that Stephen was [previously] fit and healthy and that his death was by vaccination of AstraZeneca. For us, it allows us to be able to continue our litigation against AstraZeneca. This is the written proof." Speaking about the coroner's ruling, mother-of-two Charlotte Wright said: "It provides relief but it doesn't provide closure. I think we're only going to get that when we have an answer from AstraZeneca and the government." From May 2021, the AZ jab was no longer offered to adults under 40 after it became clear the vaccine carried [a] risk of blood clots which could be fatal.

Note: Dr. Wright's death is one of many tragedies related to the COVID-19 vaccine, as revealed in a powerful documentary that follows the lives of people significantly harmed by the vaccine, yet were discredited and abandoned by the medical system and our media systems. A recent analysis report estimates that in 2022 alone, out of 148 million people, the mass COVID-19 inoculations injured 26.6 million, disabled 1.36 million, and caused 300,000 excess deaths, with an estimated economic cost of nearly $150 billion. Clearview AI scraped 30 billion images from Facebook and other social media sites and gave them to cops: it puts everyone into a 'perpetual police line-up' "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A controversial facial recognition database, used by police departments across the nation, was built in part with 30 billion photos the company scraped from Facebook and other social media users without their permission. The company, Clearview AI, boasts of its potential for identifying rioters at the January 6 attack on the Capitol, saving children being abused or exploited, and helping exonerate people wrongfully accused of crimes. But critics point to privacy violations and wrongful arrests fueled by faulty identifications made by facial recognition, including cases in Detroit and New Orleans, as cause for concern over the technology. Once a photo has been scraped by Clearview AI, biometric face prints are made and cross-referenced in the database, tying the individuals to their social media profiles and other identifying information forever and people in the photos have little recourse to try to remove themselves. CNN reported Clearview AI last year claimed the company's clients include "more than 3,100 US agencies, including the FBI and Department of Homeland Security." BBC reported Miami Police acknowledged they use the technology for all kinds of crimes, from shoplifting to murder. The risk of being included in what is functionally a "perpetual police line-up" applies to everyone, including people who think they have nothing to hide, [said] Matthew Guariglia, a senior policy analyst for the international non-profit digital rights group Electronic Frontier Fund.

Georgia National Guard Will Use Phone Location Tracking to Recruit High School Children "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Georgia Army National Guard plans to combine two deeply controversial practices military recruiting at schools and location-based phone surveillance to persuade teens to enlist, according to contract documents reviewed by The Intercept. The federal contract materials outline plans by the Georgia Army National Guard to geofence 67 different public high schools throughout the state, targeting phones found within a one-mile boundary of their campuses with recruiting advertisements "with the intent of generating qualified leads of potential applicants for enlistment while also raising awareness of the Georgia Army National Guard." Geofencing refers generally to the practice of drawing a virtual border around a real-world area. The ad campaign will make use of a variety of surveillance advertising techniques, including capturing the unique device IDs of student phones, tracking pixels, and IP address tracking. It will also plaster recruiting solicitations across Instagram, Snapchat, streaming television, and music apps. The campaign plans not only call for broadcasting recruitment ads to kids at school, but also for pro-Guard ads to follow these students around as they continue using the internet and other apps, a practice known as retargeting. While the state's plan specifies targeting only high school juniors and seniors ages 17 and above, demographic ad targeting is known to be error prone, and experts told The Intercept it's possible the recruiting messages could reach the phones of younger children.

Johns Hopkins study shows lockdowns only reduced COVID-19 death rate by .2% "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Lockdowns during the first COVID-19 wave in the spring of 2020 only reduced COVID-19 mortality by .2% in the U.S. and Europe, according to a Johns Hopkins University meta-analysis of several studies. "While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted," the researchers wrote. "In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument." The researchers Johns Hopkins University economics professor Steve Hanke, Lund University economics professor Lars Jonung, and special advisor at Copenhagen's Center for Political Studies Jonas Herby analyzed the effects of lockdown measures such as school shutdowns, business closures, and mask mandates on COVID-19 deaths. "We find little to no evidence that mandated lockdowns in Europe and the United States had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality rates," the researchers wrote. The researchers also examined shelter-in-place orders, finding that they reduced COVID-19 mortality by 2.9%. Studies that looked at only shelter-in-place orders found they reduced COVID-19 mortality by 5.1%, but studies that looked at shelter-in-place orders along with other lockdown measures found that shelter-in-place orders actually increased COVID-19 mortality by 2.8%. The researchers concluded that limiting gatherings may have actually increased COVID-19 mortality.

Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19, according to a new analysis by researchers at Johns Hopkins University. The lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by about 0.2%, said the broad review of multiple scientific studies. "We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality," the researchers wrote. But the research paper said lockdowns did have "devastating effects" on the economy and contributed to numerous social ills. "They have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy," the report said. "Such a standard benefit-cost calculation leads to a strong conclusion: lockdowns should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument," the paper concluded. Early on, many states and 186 countries imposed bans on work, socialization, in-person schooling, travel and other restrictions to limit the spread of the disease, citing recommendations by top health care experts. Researchers at the Imperial College London, for example, predicted that such steps could reduce death rates by up to 98%. That never happened, according to the new study by researchers Steve Hanke, Jonas Herby, and Lars Jonung at Johns Hopkins.

Possible links between Covid shots and tinnitus emerge "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Thousands of people say they've developed tinnitus after they were vaccinated against Covid. Shaowen Bao, an associate professor in the physiology department of the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona, Tucson, believes that ongoing inflammation, especially in the brain or spinal cord, may be to blame. Bao, a longtime tinnitus sufferer and a representative of the American Tinnitus Association's scientific advisory board, has studied tinnitus for more than a decade. A Facebook group of people who developed tinnitus after getting a Covid vaccine convinced Bao to look into the possible link. One man told Bao that he couldn't hear the car radio over the noise in his head while driving. Along with ringing in their ears, participants reported a range of other symptoms, including headaches, dizziness, vertigo, ear pain, anxiety and depression. Significantly more people first developed tinnitus after the first dose of the vaccine, compared with the second. This suggests "that the vaccine is interacting with pre-existing risk factors for tinnitus. If you have the risk factor, you will probably get it from the first dose," Bao said. As of Sunday, at least 16,183 people had filed complaints with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that they'd developed tinnitus, or ringing in their ears, after receiving a Covid vaccine. [Vaccine expert Dr. Gregory] Poland, who was stricken with tinnitus after he received his Covid vaccines two years ago, suggested that the CDC remains "unconcerned" about these reports of tinnitus.

As Drug Crisis Mounted, Sacklers Gave Millions to Group That Advises on Opioids "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

For the past decade, the White House and Congress have relied on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, a renowned advisory group, to help shape the federal response to the opioid crisis, whether by convening expert panels or delivering policy recommendations and reports. Yet officials with the National Academies have kept quiet about one thing: their decision to accept roughly $19 million in donations from members of the Sackler family, the owners of Purdue Pharma, the maker of the drug OxyContin that is notorious for fueling the opioid epidemic. The opioid crisis has led to hundreds of thousands of overdose deaths, spawned lawsuits and forced other institutions to publicly distance themselves from Sackler money or to acknowledge potential conflicts of interest from ties to Purdue Pharma. The National Academies has largely avoided such scrutiny as it continues to advise the government on painkillers. Institutions that more publicly examined their use of Sackler donations include Tufts University, which released a review of possible conflicts of interest related to pain research education funded by Purdue Pharma. Concerns noted in the report included a senior Purdue executive's delivering lectures to students each semester. The World Health Organization in 2019 retracted two guidance documents on opioid policy after lawmakers aired concerns about ties to opioid makers, including a Purdue subsidiary, among report authors and funders.

TikTok: Chinese "Trojan Horse" is Run By State Department Officials "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A MintPress News investigation has found dozens of ex-U.S. State Department officials working in key positions at TikTok. Many more individuals with backgrounds in the FBI, CIA and other departments of the national security state also hold influential posts at the social media giant, affecting the content that over one billion users see. The influx of State Department officials into TikTok's upper ranks is a consequence of "Project Texas," an initiative the company began in 2020 in the hopes of avoiding being banned altogether in the United States. During his time in office, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo led the charge to shut the platform down, frequently labeling it a "spying app" and a "propaganda tool for the Chinese Communist Party." It was widely reported that the U.S. government had forced the sale of TikTok to Walmart and then Microsoft. But in late 2020, as Project Texas began, those deals mysteriously fell through, and the rhetoric about the dangers of TikTok from officials evaporated. Project Texas is a $1.5 billion security operation to move the company's data to Austin. In doing so, it announced that it was partnering with tech giant Oracle, a corporation that, as MintPress has reported on, is the CIA in all but name. Evidently, Project Texas also secretly included hiring all manner of U.S. national security state personnel to oversee the company's operations and not just from the State Department. Virtually every branch of the national security state is present at TikTok.

Dr. Peter Gtzsche is a well known Danish physician with four decades of research experience, publishing 97 papers in the "big five" (BMJ, Lancet, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, and New England Journal of Medicine) and 19 Cochrane reviews. He is a co-founder of the Cochrane Collaboration. Gtzsche, along with ... Maryanne Demasi, PhD, have published a new paper titled "Serious harms of the COVID-19 Vaccines: A Systematic Review." It's been a task for academics to look into this phenomenon given the fact that vaccine manufacturers and drug regulators never allowed independent researchers to examine the raw trial data, forcing transparency advocates to sue the FDA for access to the documents. The adenovirus vector vaccines increased the risk of venous thrombosis and thrombocytopenia. (Authorities have responded by suspending the use of AstraZeneca's vaccine across many European countries, and in the US, regulators have advised restricted use of Janssen's vaccine). The mRNA-based vaccines increased the risk of myocarditis, with a mortality of about 1-2 per 200 cases. It was more common in younger males. We found evidence of serious neurological harms, including Bell's Palsy, Guillain-Barr syndrome, myasthenic disorder and stroke, which are likely due to an autoimmune reaction from mRNA and adenoviral vector vaccines. Severe harms, i.e. those that prevent daily activities, were underreported in the randomized trials.

Reassessing Technology for Time-Warp Space Travel "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A 17-year-old boy ... received the Air Force's highest science award in the 1960s. This young man had the audacity and guts to build and test a new and unusual rocket. The boy's name was David Adair, and the engine he built was a nuclear-fusion electromagnetic containment engine. This rocket was tested successfully and had an eventful landing in that land beyond lands that doesn't exist, the famous Area 51. This vehicle had the capability of achieving light speed and, according to the builder, was capable of exceeding light speed with capabilities to propel an interstellar ship to the stars. Where did David Adair, now head of Intersect Inc. in Atlanta, get the design for this engine? As he tells it, directly from NASA. The organization evidently had 18 engine designs, and guess what? Only two were solid- or liquid-propelled rocket engines. This was in the 1960s. I wonder what happened to the rest of those engine types in the past 30 years. I also wonder what type of engines have been and are being tested at the old Rocketdyne facility in the Santa Susana Mountains above Simi Valley. One might ask if the massive class-action lawsuit against Rocketdyne, which alleges contamination of the nuclear type, has any relationship to the engines that were developed and continue to be developed today. If we look at some of these modern concepts and then consider the possibility of extraterrestrial visitation, it doesn't seem quite so impossible.

'Bees are sentient': inside the stunning brains of nature's hardest workers "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

When Stephen Buchmann finds a wayward bee on a window inside his Tucson, Arizona, home, he goes to great lengths to capture and release it unharmed. This March, Buchmann released a book that unpacks just how varied and powerful a bee's mind really is. The book, What a Bee Knows: Exploring the Thoughts, Memories and Personalities of Bees, draws from his own research and dozens of other studies to paint a remarkable picture of bee behavior and psychology. It argues that bees can demonstrate sophisticated emotions resembling optimism, frustration, playfulness and fear, traits more commonly associated with mammals. Experiments have shown bees can experience PTSD-like symptoms, recognize different human faces, process long-term memories while sleeping, and maybe even dream. Approximately one-third of the American diet, including many fruits, vegetables and nuts, relies on bees for pollination. In the past, bee research has focused on their role in crop pollination, but the work being pioneered by Buchmann and his contemporaries could force an ethical reckoning with how the animals are treated. Can large-scale agriculture and scientific research continue without causing bees to suffer, and is the dominant western culture even capable of accepting that the tiniest of creatures have feelings, too? Buchmann hopes an ethical shift will happen as details about the emotional lives of invertebrates especially bees are shared with the public.

Magnetic Crystals, Guides for Animals, Found in Humans "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

An intriguing claim that human brain cells possess crystals of a highly magnetic mineral known as magnetite was described today by Dr. Joseph Kirschvink, a professor at the California Institute of Technology. The 38-year-old geobiologist said he believed that magnetite crystals enabled animals from bees to whales to navigate by using the earth's magnetic field. He said he doubted that they supported any sensory capability in humans, although he suspected that they might account for the possible influence of strong electromagnetic fields on human health. That magnetite, one of the hardest metals on earth, is synthesized by the human brain "is sure to astound most scientists," Dr. Kirschvink said, but what it is doing there is a "total mystery." It might be a vestige from evolution and serve no purpose, he said. Or it could play a role in biology, explaining why electromagnetic fields have been associated with brain cancer and leukemia and why certain odd blips, called spin echoes, show up on magnetic resonance images of the brain. Each human brain on average contains seven billion particles of magnetite, weighing a total of one-millionth of an ounce. Magnetite interacts over a million times more strongly with external magnetic fields than any other biological material, Dr. Kirschvink said, including the iron in red blood cells. If only one cell in a million contains magnetite, he said, magnetic fields could exert an effect on the tissue.

Mushrooms communicate with each other using up to 50 'words', scientist claims "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Mathematical analysis of the electrical signals fungi seemingly send to one another has identified patterns that bear a striking structural similarity to human speech. Previous research has suggested that fungi conduct electrical impulses through long, underground filamentous structures called hyphae similar to how nerve cells transmit information in humans. It has even shown that the firing rate of these impulses increases when the hyphae of wood-digesting fungi come into contact with wooden blocks, raising the possibility that fungi use this electrical "language" to share information about food or injury with distant parts of themselves, or with hyphae-connected partners such as trees. Prof Andrew Adamatzky at the University of the West of England's unconventional computing laboratory in Bristol analysed the patterns of electrical spikes generated by four species of fungi enoki, split gill, ghost and caterpillar fungi. The research, published in Royal Society Open Science, found that these spikes often clustered into trains of activity, resembling vocabularies of up to 50 words, and that the distribution of these "fungal word lengths" closely matched those of human languages. The most likely reasons for these waves of electrical activity are to maintain the fungi's integrity analogous to wolves howling to maintain the integrity of the pack or to report newly discovered sources of attractants and repellants to other parts of their mycelia, Adamtzky suggested.

Once Shocking, U.S. Spying on Its Allies Draws a Global Shrug "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The last time a trove of leaked documents exposed U.S. spying operations around the world, the reaction from allied governments was swift and severe. In Berlin, thousands of people protested in the streets, the C.I.A. station chief was expelled, and the German chancellor told the American president that "spying on friends is not acceptable." In Paris, the American ambassador was summoned for a dressing-down. That was a decade ago, after an enormous leak of classified documents detailing American surveillance programs by ... Edward Snowden. The latest leak of classified documents that appeared online this year, the motive behind which remains unknown, has again illustrated the broad reach of U.S. spy agencies, including into the capitals of friendly countries such as Egypt, South Korea, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. Though the documents mainly focus on the war in Ukraine, they include C.I.A. intelligence briefs describing conversations and plans at senior levels of government in those countries, in several cases attributed to "signals intelligence," or electronic eavesdropping. Unlike in 2013, however, U.S. allies appear to be mostly shrugging off the latest examples of apparent spying. So far, the only evident political fallout from the latest leaks has occurred in South Korea, where one classified U.S. document described a debate among senior national security officials about whether to send artillery shells abroad that might wind up in Ukraine, potentially angering Russia.

Revealed: the terrorist hired by the CIA to catch Carlos the Jackal "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The story of Bruno Brguet, one the most enigmatic figures of the shadowy battle between western security services and international violent extremists during the so-called "golden age of terrorism" in the 1970s and 1980s, has been given a new twist. A new book has revealed that in his later years Brguet served not only the infamous Illich Ramrez Snchez, better known as Carlos the Jackal, but the US government too. Brguet's spying for the CIA earned him tens of thousands of dollars, and contributed to the capture of his erstwhile boss by French secret services in 1994. The news that the CIA was prepared to hire as an agent a man like Brguet, who had been twice convicted by Israel and France for his terrorist activities and is believed to have bombed a pro-democracy radio station in Munich funded by the US government, underlines the moral and ethical questions facing intelligence services when it comes to recruiting such individuals. If anyone in the CIA balked at employing Brguet as an agent, there is no record of their concerns. For the next four years, Brguet appears to have supplied information to the CIA, possibly indirectly contributing key elements to the French intelligence operation that successfully grabbed Carlos from a clinic in Khartoum in 1994. Breguet's final mystery remains unresolved however. In 1995, the veteran extremist turned CIA agent disappeared definitively after boarding a ferry from a Greece to Italy. Was he murdered? Or did he commence a new life under a false identity?

Congress Suddenly Wants to Know If US Taxpayers Were Helping El Chapo "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

After flying under the radar for years, the case of Genaro Garca Luna is finally raising alarms in Congress, with one of the Senate's top Republicans demanding answers about how Mexico's highest-ranking cop was able to partner with DEA and FBI, "at the time that he funneled roughly 103,000 pounds of cocaine into the United States" for the Sinaloa Cartel. Garca Luna became the most senior Mexican law enforcement official ever convicted of narco-corruption when a Brooklyn federal jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict on a five-count indictment that charged him with taking massive bribes to enable cartel drug smuggling, kidnappings, and murders while he was in office from 2001 to 2012. Garca Luna's position involved close collaboration with U.S. anti-narcotics agencies that operate in Mexico, and it gave him discretion over the spending of hundreds of millions in American tax dollars delivered as security aid. That money was supposed to go toward fighting the cartels, but his trial showed he was leaking sensitive intelligence, protecting drug shipments, and disrupting efforts to capture ... cartel leaders. On Feb. 22, a day after the guilty verdict, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a letter to the heads of the DEA and FBI asking what the agencies knew about Garca Luna and when, and demanding evidence ... that could shed new light on the relationship. In short, Grassley wants to know if American tax dollars were being sent to Mexico while the DEA and FBI were tolerating Garca Luna's corruption.

The Man Who Knew Exactly What the F.B.I. Was Doing to Martin Luther King Jr. "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

We have long known about the F.B.I. director J. Edgar Hoover's animus toward the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hoover built an extensive apparatus of surveillance and disruption designed to destroy King. It's time to ... recognize the power structure that supported the F.B.I.'s campaign. Many Americans starting with the president thought movement activists like King posed threats to the established order and needed to be watched and controlled. Members of the press could have exposed the bureau's campaign. And many government officials who could have stopped, curtailed or exposed the F.B.I.'s attack on King instead enabled or encouraged it. F.B.I. records declassified in the past several years and documents from the Johnson archives released in 2022 force us to reconsider the nature of Johnson's involvement in the F.B.I.'s campaign against King. White House documents ... suggest that Johnson, from the beginning of his presidency in 1963 to King's assassination in 1968, was apprised almost weekly by Hoover himself on the F.B.I.'s surveillance of King. Johnson did nothing to stop or rein in the F.B.I., even after at least one top administration official expressed concern. In addition to the president and the media, other officials at the F.B.I. ... worked to ruin King. Scores of ranking officials and agents at the F.B.I., dozens of elected officials and several informants embedded in King's inner circles knew what was going on, and none, as far as the public records indicate, blew a whistle on the campaign.

Stacks (STX) Surges 10% Due To Bitcoin Network Congestion "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

While the Bitcoin and crypto markets are deep in the red, one altcoin stands out today, posting a double-digit price increase: Stacks (STX). Along with the Lightning Network, the project is considered the most promising layer-2 technology for Bitcoin at the moment and is currently benefiting from the network congestion dilemma.

There are currently over 425,000 unconfirmed transactions in the meme pool. Before being added to the Bitcoin blockchain, transactions are sent to the networks meme pool, where they wait to be selected by a Bitcoin miner and inserted into the next Bitcoin block. At medium priority, a transaction currently costs an average of $19.04.

The Case For Stacks

The congestion is causing a heated debate: While one side calls it a DDoS attack on Bitcoin, the opposing side is calling the reason for the high fees, Bitcoin ordinals and BRC 20 tokens, a revolution. But no matter which side one takes, one thing becomes obvious. Layer-2 technologies are absolutely necessary and could emerge as a big winner.

However, if the BTC price alone is to be the leading indicator, the current dilemma surrounding BRC20 tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain is not really doing the network any good. Binance hasnt really done the market any favors either with the multiple withdrawal halts.

But in the long run, higher fees are needed for the BTC network to replace the falling block reward. Co-inventor of Stacks, Muneeb Ali, therefore wrote today on Twitter that high fees are not an attack on Bitcoin, as they will be the norm when Bitcoin grows to a billion people. Rather, Ali says they are a wake-up call to developers to improve and grow Bitcoin L2s.

Shiba Inu Price Crash Persists Despite Trillions Of SHIB Tokens Being Bought Up "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Shiba Inu [SHIB] is facing a significant price drop despite trillions of the meme coins being purchased. However, this amount of purchase cant seem to stop its price crash. What could be causing this downward trend, and will it continue in the coming months?

Despite the large number of Shiba Inu tokens purchased, the cryptocurrency market remains highly speculative, and prices can be affected by a multitude of factors.

Could it be that investors are losing faith in Shiba Inus long-term potential, or is this simply a temporary setback in a highly volatile market?

As the Shiba Inu price continues to decline, many investors are left wondering whether they should hold on or cut their losses.

Shiba Inu Token Volume Surges But Price Continues To Decline

A recent report from cryptocurrency intelligence agency, IntoTheBlock, indicates that large buyers purchased over 10.25 trillion SHIB tokens in the past week, exceeding sales by 250 billion SHIB.

Despite this volume surge, the price of SHIB has continued its downward trend for the third week in a row.

Interestingly, the week saw a spike in bullish sentiment, as large buyers seemed to dominate the market. However, this paradoxically did not translate to a rise in the tokens value.

Although SHIB demonstrated growth from Monday to Wednesday, this trend was short-lived, and the tokens value fell during the next three days.

This trend is in line with the recent bearish trend of the cryptocurrency market, which has been characterized by significant volatility and price declines.

Shiba Inus value on CoinGecko currently stands at a mere $0.00000899, having undergone a 4.2% slump in the past 24 hours and an 10.6% decline over the past seven days, leaving investors in a state of uncertainty about its future trajectory.

Incense can truly transform the vibe of a room. Whether you use it for aromatherapy, meditation, or simply because you love the smell, incense can elevate a regular space into a relaxing environment. But did you know that incense can also add to the aesthetic of the place it is burning in? While there are plenty of incense holders and burners in the market, there's a particular design that looks like its straight out of a folk tale.

The Dragon Waterfall Incense Burner takes the smoke emanating from the incense cone and, instead of letting it evaporate into the room, transforms it into a waterfall that comes out of a dragon's mouth. The mythical creature seems to be posed around the teardrop-shaped burner, as if guarding it. The consistency of the smoke allows it to fall from one pit into the other throughout the vessel, creating a steady flow.

The charm of this incense burner was shared in a video posted to Reddit, where it earned over 54,000 upvotes. Seconds after the cone is placed atop the incense holder, the smoke starts to pour out of the dragon, creating a hypnotic scene. If watching it unfold on a screen is enthralling, imagine adding the intense aromas of incense to that vision. It's sure to encourage a sense of calm and help you unwind at the end of the day.

To ensure this incense burner works as depicted in the video, it's important to take into account the external factors needed. The effect of the smoke flow won't run in a drafty room or one with a fan on; on the other hand, a room with very s...

Mozart in Motion "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Young Mozart performing for Louis Franois de Bourbon in Paris in 1766. Gustave Boulanger, public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Opening nights of new operas may be the most fraught of all. So many things have to go right. The paint must have dried on the backdrops, the sopranos throat must be clear of infections and the tenor of overly distracting fits of pique. The orchestral players must be confident that their strings or reeds will behave themselves. Enough copies of the score must have gone out, and everyone needs to know which big aria has been cut at the last minute. Large amounts of money hinge on the airy stuff that musical performance comprises. An eerie tension awaits anyone without enough to dobut everyone generally has far too much to do. No one can control how the audience will react, though sometimes in the eighteenth-century sections would be paid to get their reactions right. Mozarts era often left it unclear who was meant to be in charge of this broadly purposeful chaos; the role of the conductor had, for one thing, not yet attained its later clarity. As the first notes got closer, an entire social world was readying itself to be funneled into drama and music.

In the autumn of 1787 an impresario called Pasquale Bondini may or may not have felt in control of such a night. He ran the resident opera company at the recently built Nostitz theater in Prague whose success earlier in the year with a staging of Le nozze di Figaro quickly led him and his codirector to commission a new Mozart opera. It seems to have been Mozart who gravitated toward the figure of Don Juan and the old Spanish folk tales about his lascivious career that had already inspired literary and operatic versions across the century. Prague had adored Mozarts rampantly expansive, vertiginously original opera about the rebellious valet Figaro, so it must have struck him as a good place to hit with an even more drastic reinterpretation of his worlds cultural possibiliti...

Bitcoin To Drop Further? Whales Show Signs Of Dumping "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

On-chain data shows the Bitcoin exchange whale ratio has spiked recently, something that could lead to further downside in the assets value.

Bitcoin Exchange Whale Ratio Has Sharply Surged Recently

As pointed out by an analyst in a CryptoQuant post, the exchange whale ratio is currently at its highest level since September 2019. The exchange whale ratio is an indicator that measures the ratio between the sum of the top 10 inflows to exchanges and the total exchange inflows.

An exchange inflow is any movement of Bitcoin towards the wallets of centralized exchanges from addresses outside such platforms (like self-custodial wallets).

The top 10 inflows here refer to the 10 largest inflow transactions going towards these platforms. Generally, these largest transfers are coming from the whales, so the exchange whale ratio can tell us how the inflow activity of the whales currently compares with that of the entire market (the total inflows).

When this indicator has a high value, it means these humongous holders are making up a large part of the total inflows currently. As one of the main reasons why investors move their coins to exchanges is for selling-related purposes, this kind of trend can be a sign that whales are selling right now.

On the other hand, low values of the metric imply this cohort isnt making too many inflows relative to the rest of the market. Such a trend can be either neutral or bullish for the cryptocurrencys price, depending on some other market conditions.

Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin exchange whale ratio over the last few years:

Bitcoin Exchange Whale Ratio

As displayed in the above graph, the Bitcoin exchange whale ratio has observed a pretty large spike recently. This suggests that whales are making up a rather large part of the total exchange inflows currently.

The metric has crossed the value of 0.8 in this spike, implying that more than 80% of the inflows are coming from these humongous investors right now. This level of ratio hasnt been seen in the market since way back in 2019.

This previous spike of similar scale occurred as the price was winding down from the...

Litecoin (LTC) Price Falls After Bulls Fail To Maintain Momentum "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Litecoin is shedding its gains in the market today as the bears take control of its price. At press time, its trading volume is down by over 15%, with a price decrease of 2.80% in the last 24 hours. Such a decline comes after major crypto assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum took a blow and entered bearish territory.

After its decline from $101.85 to $90.44 on April 19, 2023, the bears mounted more pressure pushing its price down to $81.11.

What Next For Litecoin?

LTC is in a downtrend today, forming a bearish engulfing pattern on the daily charts as it descends to lower lows.

It has dropped below its 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) and is trading below its 200-day SMA, with bearish sentiment in the short and long term.

Related Reading: Shiba Inu: Whales Accumulate Yet Price Drops Whats Going On?

Also, its Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 34.74 and rapidly descending to the oversold region of 30. It implies that the bears are in control as more traders take short positions in the market. And the decreased trading activity is aiding the current price drop.

LTCs Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is below its signal line and displays a negative value. This is a bearish sentiment for the asset.

LTC Support And Resistance Levels

LTC has dropped below $83.30, leading to speculations of further price decline. The bears at the $88.26 resistance level have resisted a potential break to the upside for the asset. Other critical resistance levels are $90.99, approximately the psychological resistance of $100, and $100.20.

LTC will likely rest on the $80.87 support in the coming days and might decline further to the next support of $78.85. The indicators are all bearish and point to a decline. However, LTC can rally again if the $80.87 support becomes a price pivot for an uptrend.

Litecoin Halving Boost Hope For A Future Rally In 2023

Litecoin is a cryptocurrency from the original Bitcoin protocol. Litecoin halving is similar to that of Bitcoin which is an event where miners rewards are reduced significantly as a price control measure to increase scarcity and boost its value.

Since its creation, LTC has held two halving events in 2015 and 2019. The block rewards were reduced from 50 LTC to 25 LTC in 2015 and 25 LTC to 12.5 LTC in 2019.

Amidst his signature verdant backdrops, Kehinde Wiley (previously) situates his subjects in the center of the composition, chins tilted up with regal gazes, enveloped in the grandeur of colorful patterns. The artist is known for monumental portraits in oil that reframe European painting traditions, especially referencing court portraiture in which royal or noble familiesalmost exclusively whitewere portrayed in extravagant dress symbolizing wealth and power. Wiley flips the narrative by positioning historically marginalized Black and Brown figures front and center.

Wileys latest body of work titled HAVANA, on view now at Sean Kelly in New York, continues the artists interest in the cultures and traditions of the African diaspora. He draws on two separate visits to Cuba, first in 2015 and again in 2022, exploring the carnivalesque phenomenon in Western culture, which manifests in numerous colorful, celebratory events around the world, such as Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Was This Couple Wrong For Wanting To Trade Vacation Money For Babysitting Hours? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Vacations are awesome, especially when you can take them with family you love. Theyre also expensive, and these days, more and more people find themselves more than a little bit strapped.

OPs family is scheduling a resort vacation thats going to work out to around $2k per person, and though most of the family can afford it (if barely), his younger sister called asking for the money to cover her portion.

My (32m) family is planning a vacation for this summer. Both my parents, my older brother and my SIL, my younger sister Camila (22f) and my husband, my 2 kids (10f and 8m) and I are all planing to go.

We are planning to stay in a resort for 2 weeks. This will obviously be a bit expensive (at least 2k USD per person and that is an enormous amount of money in my currency). Camila is in her last semester of university and will start a full time job on August. Right now shes not working and lives with my parents (not passing judgment on her for being unemployed because my brother and I went through the same at her age).

Camila called me last week to ask if we could pay for her ticket and accomodation (my parents would pay for food and activities).

OP and his husband discussed it and agreed they could pay her way IF she would be willing to do some (very minimal) babysitting for them over the next couple of months.

Basically, they could not afford the extra $2k if they still had to pay for a babysitter.

My husband and I can comfortably afford our family, but adding Camila would put financial pressure on us. I told her that I would discuss it with my husband and then I would call her.

So my husband and I agreed that we would be willing to pay for her if she would babysit our children on certain occasions. Of course, not every day and without notice, but at least twice a week for...

ChatGPT Creators Latest Project: World Coin Launches Crypto Wallet "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT, attracted attention from the crypto industry in 2021 by reviving a token founded in 2013, World Coin. The project has been progressing slowly, but today will launch a new tool designed for the AI Age.

Per a press release shared with Bitcoinist, the team behind World Coin launched a new crypto wallet called World App, a financial and identity manager. Previously in a testing phase running on Polygon, the crypto wallet is now open to the public and free to download.

ChatGPT, Not The Only Tool That Will Change The World?

With a simplified interface, the wallet will natively support the World Coin and Ethereum ecosystems. The app has been designed to remove the friction from onboarding new users to crypto.

In that sense, the app was created to fulfill three core objectives: provide people with a decentralized alternative to manage their data and identity, access finance, and increase crypto adoption.

According to the release, World App was intentionally designed to protect peoples privacy. The crypto wallet will provide users with access to rewards for learning about crypto and even World Coin Grants to help the project evolve into a toolkit to empower individuals in the Age of AI, built on top of the largest network of real humans.

The World App is available in over 80 countries. During its beta phase, the World App onboarded over 1.5 million users with 500,000 active monthly users and 60,000 transactions. Tiago Sada, Head of Product at Tools for Humanity, told Bitcoinist the following regarding their newest product:

The intentionally simple design of World App aims to accelerate adoption of decentralized financial and identity systems. World App manages to abstract away a lot of complexity while preserving critical properties like self-custody and privacy. It is uniquely enabled by World IDs Proof of Personhood to offer features such as gasless transactions, learn to earn courses, and 24/7 chat support to increase accessibility.

Moral Injury Confronting the U.S. Militarys Greatest Strategic Problem "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Theres an interesting historical anecdote that comes from the 1787 Philadelphia Convention that resulted in the Constitution for the United States. The story involves Benjamin Franklins contemplations upon the sun engraved in the back of the chair (pictured above) used by George Washington as he presided over the Convention. Franklin stated that he: often and often in the course of the Session, and the vicissitudes of my hopes and fears as to its issue, looked at that behind the President without being able to tell whether it was rising or setting: But now at length I have the happiness to know that it is a rising and not a setting Sun.
It is interesting to note Franklins reflections on what the sun might have portended at that time for the fledgling United States. While Franklins interpretation of the engraved suns symbolism might have been correct in 1787, I do not harbor the same enthusiasm in 2023. If I am being honest, I must state that the sun seems to be setting. With each passing minute, the light of the republic seems to fade, leaving darkness to fill the void. [1] One of the greatest examples of this encroaching darkness is the current moral state of our military. I want to write about a topic that I think is of the utmost importance right now for our Armed Forces and the country. It's an issue that continues to cause untold woe within our military. By extension, it's causing the same impacts on our whole country. This issue is known as moral injury. Before I go further, it may be useful for readers to understand some of what I have previously stated in terms of my thoughts on those who have participated without resistance in the covid-19 operation. I have explained here extensively why I believe the Department of Defenses role has been so nefarious. Additionally, here is a reference that provides a quick summary as to why so many people (myself included) mention that the covid-19 injection mandate was based on fraud and that therefore the implementation of the mandate was unlawful. Binance To Activate Bitcoin Lightning Network Withdrawals "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

After suspending Bitcoin withdrawals multiple times in the past 24 hours, the worlds largest crypto exchange announced plans to create a lasting solution.

The firm now plans to include the Bitcoin lightning network for BTC transactions. The only downside is that the alternative comes with a higher fee. But the exchange revealed plans to cushion it.

Binance Plans To Enable BTC Lightning Network Withdrawals

According to a recent report, the exchange is working toward enabling Bitcoin lightning network withdrawals. This move will help clear all backlogs on BTC transactions over the past few days.

Notably, Binance suspended Bitcoin transactions twice within the past 24 hours. On May 7, the exchange halted BTC transactions, stating that network congestion was the reason for its action. It later reported the resumption of the transactions.

Later the firm announced the temporary suspension of Bitcoin transactions again today, May 8. According to its statement, theres a high backlog of pending  BTC transactions. So, it plans to clear up the backlog by introducing the Bitcoin lightning network withdrawals with higher transaction fees.

Increasing Demands In The Bitcoin Network

The growing hype around the BRC-20 tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain surged demands on the network. Galaxy Research said BRC-20 tokens contributed 50% of the total Bitcoin transactions on May 2. Subsequently, BTC fees hit a new multi-year high.

Binance explained that thered been an increase in the BTC network gas fees recently. However, its fee didnt account for such a surge. Hence, the exchange would readjust its operational charges to include the sudden fee surge.

Further, the exchange stated that it would monitor on-chain activity to initiate timely adjustments once needed. The team is already making moves to enable BTC Lightning Network withdrawals for the present situation.

Notably, Binance witnessed more outflows due to the spike in BTC network demands. According to CryptoQuant, Binance recorded over 162,000 BTC outflow...

The Lion of Chaeronea "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Aureus of the Roman emperor Aurelian, minted at Antioch between November 270 CE and March 272 CE. On the obverse, the laureate bust of Aurelian himself; on the reverse, the laureate bust of Septimius Vaballathus, son of Zenobia of Palmyra. At the time this coin was minted, Palmyra had broken away from Rome and established an empire, with Vaballathus nominally its ruler under the title Augustus (though in fact it was Zenobia who ruled). Aurelian initially accepted this arrangement, being busy fighting usurpers in Gaul, but within months of the minting of this coin, he would forcibly reconquer the erstwhile Palmyrene Empire and take Zenobia and Vaballathus captive. What subsequently became of them is unknown. Photo credit: Classical Numismatic Group, Inc. http://www.cngcoins.com

The Bird is the Word: Why Larry is the Next Meme Coin Set to Fly "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The world of cryptocurrency is constantly evolving, and the latest craze to take the market by storm is the rise of meme coins. These coins are based on popular memes or internet culture, and they have gained a massive following in recent months.

Few have been as popular as Pepe, the popular frog king of the memes. However, another one of the newest meme coins to hit the market is Larry named after the famous Twitter bird. And lets be real: birds can fly high when they get their wings.

Learn about the next meme coin with wings: $LARRY

Larry crypto is a unique meme token that embodies the spirit of the beloved Twitter bird. This new cryptocurrency has been designed to revolutionize the way we think about money and entertainment. It is a community-driven project that values humor, rebellion, and the power of social media. Larry is the ultimate meme guardian, keeping a watchful eye on the cryptocurrency space, waiting for the perfect moment to spread its wings and take flight, the website reads.

Like other booming meme tokens, Larry boasts a 0% tax policy. Birds dont pay taxes, and neither does Larry. This is a refreshing change from other cryptocurrencies that often have high fees and transaction costs. Additionally, Larry will undergo thorough third-party audits, ensuring that the smart contract is secure and unruggable.

Another aspect of Larry that sets it apart from other meme coins is its liquidity. The coins liquidity is locked for 44 years, providing investors with peace of mind that their investment is secure for the long term. Furthermore, 52.9% of the token supply is in the pre-sale to provide liquidity, and 32.9% is provided in liquidity to the DEX. Additionally, 6.9% of the supply is held in a multi-sig wallet for future centralized exchange listings, bridges, liquidity pools, etc.

Larry is easily accessible, with 4.2% of the...

Woman Asks If Telling Her Co-Worker A Work Event Is As Important As Their Daughters Recital. Was She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

People needing to ensure they have a good work-life balance has been a hot topic of conversation as of late. Americans, it seems, have a terrible take/handle on it in particular.

OP does not, however. They developed a very specific skillset that has allowed them to not only have options and a great salary, but the opportunity to negotiate contracts that allow them to work the when and where they want, as well.

She does her work and then goes home, and doesnt think about it again until the following morning.

I(29F) started working at a new company 8 months ago.

I was head hunted specifically for the role I have, which gave me enough power to negotiate my contract like I wanted. One of the things I managed to get was a clause that prohibited my employer from contacting me outside work hours.

If it is a true emergency, then they can send me an email. Otherwise they cant even send me a text.

Furthermore, I have a separate work phone that I shut down at 5 on the dot, then turn on at 9am.

Another thing is that I dont work OT. I am very efficient, so my work is done by 3pm, 5pm if we have an emergency. I also take my whole lunch break outside the office, and my coffee breaks away from my desk.

I am not planning to climb the corporate ladder. All I want is a job that pays enough to live a comfortable middle class life. I invested in a bit of a niche/rare skillset, and it paid me back with a 6 figure salary and being very sought after.

All I have to do is to maintain my skillset and keep up with the times, and I will be golden. I have had offers from all around my state, and a few more.

Her co-workers are more social during the day and so often work later than she does, or someti...

Behold Shakespeares First Folio, the First Published Collection of Shakespeares Plays, Published 400 Year Ago (1623) "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Summers lease may have all too short a date, but every year, its time enough for dozens, nay, hundreds of free Shakespeare productions to pop up in the parks and parking lots.

We owe these pleasures in part to the First Folio, a fat collection of Shakespeares plays, compiled in 1623, seven years after his death.

As Elizabeth James, senior librarian at the National Art Library in London, and Harriet Reed, contemporary performance curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum point out in the show-and-tell above, 18 previously-unpublished plays would have sunk into oblivion had they not been truffled up and preserved here by John Heminge and Henry Condell, listed in the Folio as among the Principall Actors of his work.

Take Virtual Tours of Every Star Trek Enterprise Bridge: A New Interactive Web Portal Created by The Roddenberry Archive "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Its a rare young Star Trek fan indeed who doesnt fantasize about sitting on the bridge of the starship Enterprise. That has gone for every generation of fan, every Star Trek series, and every Enterprise, whose bridges you can see in the new video above from the Roddenberry Archive. It begins, naturally, with the original Star Trek, the show with which creator Gene Roddenberry started it all and for which art director Matt Jefferies designed a bridge that would become a model not just for all subsequent Enterprises, but real-life command centers as well. As the narrator says, Jefferies bridge made such an impression that engineers from NASA, the U.S. Navy, and private industry have studied it as a model for an advanced, efficient control room.

That narrator happens to be John de Lancie, whom viewers of Star Trek: The Next Generation and subsequent series will know as the all-powerful extra-dimensional being Q. Hes not the only familiar performer to participate in this retrospective project: in the video above appears a certain William Shatner, who as James Tiberius Kirk occupied the captains chair of the very first Enterprise.

Kansas Becomes 1st State to Pass Law Defining Gender as a Persons Sex at Birth "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Alice Giordano,
Kansas has become the first state to adopt a definition of gender with the passage of legislation that keeps men, no matter what gender they identify as, out of womens bathrooms, locker rooms, and other intimate spaces. It also separates inmates and restricts participation in sports according to ones sex at birth. The move came late in the afternoon of April 27, when the state Legislature voted to override Kansas Gov. Laura Kellys veto of S.B. 180, which became known as the Womens Bill of Rights. Under it, a female is defined as an individual whose biological reproductive system is developed to produce ova. A male is defined as an individual whose biological reproductive system is developed to fertilize the ova of a female. It also defines gender words calling for woman and girl to be used to refer to human females and man and boy to refer to human males. It defines mother as a parent of the female sex and father as a parent of the male sex. The override comes a little more than a week after Kelly vetoed the bill on April 20, after it was passed by a two-to-one margin between Republicans and Democrats in both the House and Senate. Kelly said she vetoed the legislation because she was concerned it would open the state up to costly discrimination lawsuits, cause a loss of federal funding, and hurt the Sunflower States economy. The bill garnered support from a range of groups, including one staunchly pro-choice womens rights group. Victory! wrote the Womens Liberation Front (WOLF) on Twitter, upon news of the veto override. The national womens rights organization, which helped craft the legislation, wrote on its website, This bill takes procedural steps to write into law common sense definitions that ensure the meaning of words like woman and mother arent corrupted by unelected bureaucrats inten...

Is It Right To Comment On The Reasons For Someones Divorce? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Divorce, like marriage, is a very personal topic. The reasons for it are often only understood by the two people involved, and honestly, Im not sure anyone really loves talking about it if theyre not initiating the conversation.

OP has let his sister move in during her divorce, which she says came as a result of a mismatch of s*x drive in her marriage. She was the one who wanted more intimacy and eventually pushed her husband away with her in his mind constant need for it.

My sister has been staying with my husband and I (men in our late 20s) for the last week and some change. She and her husband have initiated the divorce process and she said she doesnt want to stay alone right now, which I completely understand. It would be very hard to go from living with a partner to a completely silent house.

I opened our home to her before I found out why her marriage didnt work out. Now that the two of us have had multiple conversations about it, Im a little uncomfortable.

There was no infidelity. There was no big scandal. What she told me is that her husband wasnt having s*x with her enough.

OP has grown uncomfortable listening to her talk as he doesnt agree with her take on that being the only/best form of intimacy and believes he would be more understanding or find other ways to stay close with his husband if such a thing happened in his own marriage.

The things she has been saying have floored me. She says without s*x, the two of them were basically just like roommates. She said she had been pushing for him to get a hormone imbalance test done because while they were still having s*x, it wasnt enough.

She said he had begun resisting even normal touches from her because from his perspective, all she thought about was s*x which apparently isnt true...

Texas Committee Passes Bill to Create 100% Reserve Gold and Silver-Backed Transactional Currencies "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

BY MICHAEL MAHARREY, On May 2, a Texas House committee passed a bill to create 100% reserve gold and silver-backed transactional currencies. Enactment of this legislation would create an option for people to conduct business in sound money, set the stage to undermine the Federal Reserves monopoly on money, and possibly create a viable alternative to a central bank digital currency (CBDC). Rep. Mark Dorazio (R) introduced HB4903 on March 10 and it has since garnered a bipartisan coalition of 42 cosponsors. The legislation would require the state comptroller to establish and provide for the issuance of gold and silver specie and also establish digital currencies that are 100% backed by gold and silver, and 100% redeemable in cash, gold, or silver. Specie is defined as a precious metal stamped into coins of uniform shape, size, design, content, and purity, suitable for or customarily used as currency, as a medium of exchange, or as the medium for purchase, sale, storage, transfer, or delivery of precious metals in retail or wholesale transactions. In establishing gold and silver specie, the comptroller would be required to authorize the Texas Bullion Depository as issuer and ensure that the holder of the specie may use the specie as legal tender in payment of debt and readily transfer the specie to another person. The comptroller would also be required to create a mechanism to use 100% backed gold and silver digital currencies in everyday transactions.
In establishing the digital currency under Subsection (a)(2), the comptroller shall provide a means to ensure that a person who holds the digital currency may: 1. Use the digital currency as legal tender in payment of debt; and 2. By electronic means readily transfer or...

Nikkis Weekly Tarot Reading: May 8-14, 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The cards pictured are from the Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck.

The High Priestess and Three of Disks

Our first card this week is the High Priestess. She comes second in the Major Arcana cards, also known as the Fools Journey. And though the journey has just started, she is already calling us to stop and pause because she knows the importance of rest and reflection.

The Priestess gives us clues on how to care for ourselves during this time. We are encouraged to tap into our intuition and spiritual abilities to see through the fog and find the answers we need.

She asks us to call upon our angels, ancestors, and messengers, as they are always supporting us. She wants us to use our gifts to draw out the light surrounding the dark.

If you create moments of stillness, the energy of the Priestess will be able to enter your world. She will give you insights into the wisdom of your future. She will send you messages of peace.

To channel this energy, spend time in meditation or reflection. Take out a journal and write in stream-of-consciousness, tap into your creativity through something artistic, move your body intuitively, set intentions before you sleep, and record your dreams.

Allow the High Priestess to support you this week. She reminds us of the importance of disconnecting from the world around us and connecting to our spirit. From that space, we can access so much intelligence, power, and healing.

With the High Priestess, we are looking within, and with the Three of Disks, we are looking toward the future. We are thinking about what we want to manifest and what we can make happen.

The Three of Disks is all about concentrated and deliberate effort. It is about focus and the ability to work hard for what we want. It gives us the power to be aware of our desires and not swerve from our path.

Currently, we may be feeling scattered and pulled in different directions. But this week we will narrow in on what we want. We will let go of those voices that leave us feeling doubtful and confused.

Inspiration will be our friend as we start to create a clearer picture of what the future will look like. This card usually indicates a high level of professional ambition. So use this time to focus on your career and make concrete goals for the rest of 2023.

If your career is an area that holds insecurity for you, use the energy of the Three of Disk to push through that this week. You will need to work on those feelings in order to manifest the abundance that is waiting for you.

This card also points to the support of our community to get the work done. So dont be afraid to lean on others or ask for a hand to get things accomplished. People want to help! And we are always more powerful when we work together.

Let the motivating and focused energy of the Three...

8 Red Flags Of An Avoidantly Attached Partner "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Being in a healthy, happy, and fulfilling relationship requires work from both partners. Unfortunately, when one of the two partners has an avoidant attachment, it can lead to the relationship becoming one-sided.

When you are in a one-sided relationship, it can be frustrating, to say the least. Deep down, you may wonder what you are doing wrong. You see, we all have our attachment styles. There are healthy attachment styles and there are avoidant or insecure attachment styles. Those who have healthy attachments can more easily open up and connect with their partner. While those with insecure attachments may be more clingy. Avoidant attachments, however, can lead the person with the unhealthy attachment to always keep their guard up.

Here are some signs that your partner has an avoidant attachment style.

1. They avoid commitment.

Those who are avoidantly attached tend to avoid commitments. Instead, they may keep you close enough to satisfy you, but they will always leave you wanting more. Whenever you bring up the topic of commitment, they will likely push back.

2. They are stuck in the past.

Another sign of someone who is avoidantly attached is that they are never really in the present. No matter how long youve been around them, they may seem hung up on their ex. Even if they dont admit it, when you look at their socials, likely, they are still following their ex, or in contact with them.

3. When things are going well, they sabotage.

You may notice that whenever things are going well in the relationship, your partner finds a reason to fight. They may find fault with you for no good reason, or just simply be agitated for no reason at all. This is an attempt to self-sabotage, which is typical of people with avoidant attachments.

4. They keep their emotions hidden.

Those with an avoidant attachment style will keep their emotions buried. Even when you know they are dealing with something major, they will keep it buried. No matter how hard you pry, they will say they are fine.

5. They downplay the relationship.

Whenever someone brings up your relationship if your partner is quick to downplay it, Oh, its nothing, we are just seeing where things go, this is a bad sign. Especially if they keep the relationship hidden or refuse to label it.

6. They are hot/cold.

7 Episodes of Bluey That Have Been Banned Or Censored And Why "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Bluey is quite possibly one of the most popular kids shows in the world and for good reason, it shares a lovely message about family and also teaches good moral lessons. However, even in spite of this, not all Bluey episodes made the cut.

In fact, some were actually eliminated by American censors such as Disney, even though they were aired in Australia, where the show is based. It may sound odd for a childrens show to be censored, especially by Disney, nonetheless. With that said, there have been instances where Bluey was banned or censored. Here are 7 of those and why.

1. Fruit Bat

In the fruit bat, Blue plays with penguins in the bathroom. However, because Bluey slid around the room in the wet bathroom, it was feared that children may mock the behavior and end up harming themselves on accident.

2. Markets

Markets were censored because in the episode, the girls who are seeking out money end up finding a Unicorn. When Bluey finds out that only one of them can ride the unicorn and becomes disappointed. Later, the Unicorn poops on the grass, leaving the kids to run off screaming. Disney refused to air the episode.

3. Dad Baby

Dad Baby was actually banned because, in the episode, the topic is childbirth. In one episode, Blueys dad simulates child birth. So, the episode was banned.

4. Army

While the army was not banned or censored, it was altered. In the episode, Jack is depicted as a child with ADHD. In the original episode, Jack begins to notice this and says, Theres something wrong with me. This was changed to, Theres something going on with me.

5. Flat pack.

This episode goes pretty deep and even touched on the afterlife. However, because of a possible racial slur against Aborigines, the episode was censored.

6. Perfect

In perfect, Bandit has a flashback of playing with a boomerang with Bluey. In the original version, they have a conversation about Bandit being neutered. By the time it reached the US, the theme had been changed to Bandit having his teeth removed.

7. Born Yesterday

In this episode, Bingo and Bluey teach Bandit how to swing. However, one of the girls causes him to get hit in the nether regions, and he screams out My groin! In the U.S. version, this part is omitted.

Why A Mother Would Cut A Child Out Of Her Life "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The bond between a mother and child is often considered one of the most fundamental and nurturing relationships. However, in certain circumstances, there are instances where a mother chooses to sever ties with her child. This decision is emotionally complex and raises many questions. In this article, we will explore some of the possible reasons why a mother may make the difficult choice to cut her child out of her life.

Abuse and Neglect:

One possible reason for a mother to distance herself from her child is a history of abuse or neglect. It is unfortunate that some individuals may lack the capacity to provide the care and love essential for a healthy parent-child relationship. Factors such as unresolved personal trauma, addiction, mental health issues, or an inability to meet the childs needs may contribute to this decision.

Mental Health Challenges:

Mental health problems can significantly impact a persons ability to maintain healthy relationships. If a mother struggles with conditions such as severe depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, or substance abuse, she may find it overwhelming to navigate the responsibilities and emotional demands of motherhood. In some cases, the mother may choose to distance herself from the child due to feeling inadequate or fearing she may harm them.

Personal Struggles and Circumstances:

A mothers decision to cut ties with her child may also arise from personal struggles and adverse life circumstances. Financial difficulties, unstable housing, or challenging life events such as the loss of a partner, a divorce, or the need to prioritize her own well-being can lead a mother to make the painful decision to step away. These situations may create immense stress and prevent the mother from being able to provide a stable and nurturing environment for the child.

Complex Family Dynamics:

Family dynamics can be incredibly complex, and conflicts or tensions within the broader family unit may contribute to a mothers choice to distance herself from her child. Deep-rooted disputes, strained relationships with other family members, or a lack of support from relatives can exert significant pressure on a mother, making it difficult for her to maintain a healthy connection with her child.

Unresolved Emotional Baggage:

Sometimes, a mothers decision to cut ties with her child may stem from unresolved emotional baggage. Past traumas, unresolved conflicts, or deep-seated resentments within the relationship may create an insurmountable barrier. The mother might feel that it is in both her and the childs best interest to create distance, seeking healing and closure separately.

The decision of a mother to cut her child out of her life is an emotionally complex and deeply personal one. While it may be difficult to understand and accept, various factors can contribute to this heartbreaking choice...

Mushrooms Can Be Used In Ways Most People Never Realized, Including Building Construction "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

People seem to be pretty divided on if they like mushrooms solely based on how they taste, but theres no denying that those fungi can be used in ways that a lot of folks dont realize, including acting as a substitute for all kinds of materials. And one company that is leading the charge in this field is Ecovative Design.

The New York-based company has been around since 2007 and the folks there are determined to make the planet a better place by using mycelium, basically a network of fungal threads, as an alternative to all kinds of harmful materials.

The company produces over one million pounds each year of its mushroom-based product that can be used as an alternative to Styrofoam.

The Caste Bias of Tech Platforms "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

When a close relative came of marriageable age, his parents enrolled him on a matrimonial phone application to arrange a suitable match (read: same caste), using technology to follow an ancient Indian tradition of arranged marriages to maintain endogamy. Indian society has experienced a plethora of different kinds of matchmakers from marriage bureaus set up by certain castes, to neighborhood aunties who match families before matching the partners.

In India, matrimonial mobile applications are tailored to appeal to certain communities, regions, religions, educational qualifications, incomes, and castes. In many instances, the bride and groom would often see each other on the wedding day. Family compatibility can become more important than partner compatibility.

Chronicles of an American Abyss "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

There subsists an idealized conception of suburban middle America that is utterly familiar: a blanched-white picket fence circumscribes a neatly manicured lawn. Children, usually three, play house. The father, donned in his weekend Gingham, customizes his sports car (it is often cherry-red and surely American a Chevy or Ford). The mother watches her husband and children from a kitchen window, toiling at baked goods with a smile from lips as red as the hood of her husbands car. These are the perennial images made popular by films, television shows, and politicians who harken back to a bygone America. These pastoral images are anchored in the time period before and after the Great Depression (1929-1939), fitted with narratives including first kisses, first drives, and picnics. This is precisely the American ideal that Carriage Trades excellent group show, Model Home (New York), After Wisconsin Death Trip disputes.

The exhibition is an evolving archive of American calamity over the last 150 years. It surveys images and narratives of localized crises in various locations,...

Alfredo Arregun, Painter of Myth and Memory, Dies at 88 "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

With brooding blues and radiant reds, Alfredo Arregun fused the tools of classical oil painting with Mexican folk traditions, compressing fine art and ancient craft into stretched canvases that often stood taller than he did. For those of us who knew him, the news of his death on April 24 came as a jolt, as something that didnt quite register, even though Arregun was 88 and had cancer. A flame we thought was indistinguishable had gone out.

For 60 years he painted with few pauses, channeling explosive energy into methodically composed canvases that sampled motifs from the jungles of his Mexican childhood and the lush landscapes of his adult life in the Pacific Northwest. His signature glow-in-the-dark aesthetic is thanks to the buildup of thousands of small brush strokes in dazzling, painstaking patterns.

As his health worsened, he suffered a fall that seemed to break his spirit. All of a sudden I lost my inspiration to paint, he wrote in a message to friends on Facebook. Three weeks later, he was gone.

When asked why humans should care about light pollution, Stephen Loring, co-curator of the new exhibition Lights Out: Recovering Our Night Sky at the Smithsonians National Museum of Natural History, quoted Dune author Frank Herbert. He wrote ecology is an awareness of consequences, Loring told Hyperallergic.

Technological advances in lighting and the worldwide expansion of the electrical grid have made artificial lighting ever more available, Loring continued. But as we light up our world, it is becoming apparent that it also creates serious impediments to the life cycles of diverse fauna including birds, insects, and sea life.

Two Strange Military Incidents Decades Apart but Related "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Image result for UFO CRash Retireval conventions

After talking with a former US Air Force coastal anti-aircraft battery officer who served during Vietnam and making note of a strange incident in 2012 I put the two together for an explanation. I attended 3 of the 5 scheduled UFO Crash Retrieval Conferences in Las Vegas. Each time I was surprised at the number of retired and reserve intelligence officers who took interest in the convention. One officer told me of an incident in 1967 where his anti-aircraft battery located on the Florida coast had picked up a Bogey on their radar. At the time he claimed they had the most powerful targeting radar available. During this period tensions were high as the Vietnam War was in full swing, SAC (Strategic Air Command) was on alert, and with Cuba, China, and the Soviet Union on the move advanced warning systems were alerted everywhere.

Incoming threat

As they tracked the incoming UFO confidence was high that it was not civilian or conventional. Just as the radar guided anti-aircraft artillery was about to fire the coast battery installation was hit by a powerful burst of energy that completely knocked out their targeting radar. They were electronically blinded by an unidentified aerial vessel that had been approaching the US coastline. At the time they were at a loss to explain who had done this, where they came from, and what kind of instrumentality was involved.

The Russians have been known to ram US Naval Warships on routine patrol. They have been known to make aggressive moves on US military aircraft such as fighter jets. The Russians also regularly infringe upon US air space with their TU-95 long range bomber requiring interception by US fighters.

Beethovens Ode to Joy Brought to Life in a Spanish Flashmob of 100 Musicians "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A touchingly human reminder of our capacity for ecstasy and transcendence.

Imagine what life would be like if lived, in May Sartons lovely phrase, with joy instead of will. That is what Beethoven imagined, and invited humanity to imagine, two centuries ago in the choral finale of his ninth and final symphony, known as Ode to Joy an epochal hymn of the possible, half a lifetime in the making.

In the spring of 2012, the Spanish city of Sabadell set out to celebrate the 130th anniversary of its founding with a most unusual, electrifying, and touchingly human rendition of Beethovens masterpiece, performed by a flashmob of 100 musicians from the Valls Symphony Orchestra, the Lieder, Amics de lpera and Coral Belles Arts choirs. Watching the townspeople children with kites, elders with walkers, couples holding hands gather to savor the unbidden music in a succession of confusion, delight, and ecstasy is the stuff of goosebumps: living proof that music so readily transports us from the present to the past, or from what is actual to what is possible.

Couple with the remarkable story of the making of Ode to Joy, then revisit the neurophysiology of enchantment and how music casts its spell on us.

The $2 bill was first released in the late 19th century but was so odd and rare that they never really took off, and production ceased in the 1920s.

In 1976, the Department of the Treasury revived the bill but put a vignette inspired by a John Trumbull painting on the back.

But is the $2 bill your grandparents gave you for your 8th grade graduation worth anything more than, well, $2?

This landmark agreement between Mexico and the Biden administration has dealt a major blow to thousands of migrants who have been waiting for their chance to enter the US. Under the deal, Mexico has agreed to take in 30,000 migrants a month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The US, on the other hand, will continue to allow 30,000 migrants a month from these countries through the humanitarian parole program. The end of the Title 42 policy could result in as many as 13,000 migrants crossing the border into the US daily. Stay tuned to Next News for more breaking news on the US-Mexico border crisis.

LUNC Continues Downward Trend Despite Testnet Upgrade "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Recently, the Terra Classic ecosystem has been in the spotlight due to its developmental efforts, with the testnet upgrade to expectations, this recent improvement hasnt translated into the price of the Terra Luna Classic token (LUNC).

Since the start of February, the price of Terra Luna Classic has been on a downward trend. And it can be said that the projects recent growth hasnt done much to halt this decline.

LUNC Price Falls By 15% In Single Week

Over the past seven days, the Terra Luna Classic market has experienced a drastic price decline, losing more than 15% of its value. This bearish period was preceded by a week in which the price of LUNC was relatively stable, moving in a horizontal direction.

However, a broader look at the market shows that Terra Luna Classic has been on a downward trend in the past few months. Since the beginning of February, the token has recorded a price fall of nearly 53%.

According to data from CoinGecko, LUNC is currently valued at $0.00009549. In the past 24 hours, the value of this cryptocurrency has dropped by about 5%, falling beneath the crucial $0.0001 level in that time.

LUNC

The last time Terra Luna Classic made it below this price point can be traced back to August 2022 the aftermath of the Terra ecosystem collapse. With the $0.0001 level failing to hold, the token would hope to find rest at its next support level of $0.00009275, even though the current sentiment is strongly bearish.

Thrifting can lead to some seriously impressive finds. For the luckiest buyers, selecting second-hand can mean landing a treasure that might not look like much but is worth hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars. This was the case for a man named Justin Miller. In February 2023, the 33-year-old paid $50 for a vintage chair he found on Facebook Marketplace. Confident about his knack for spotting special items, he figured there was something about the chairbut the actual value of the piece could be higher than anyone expected.

Miller, who has years of experience as a design producer for TV shows, spends hours every day perusing Facebook Marketplace. One day, he saw a listing for a grand wingbacked chair. Figuring it could be worth some money due to its unique appearance, he did some research. According to the viral Tiktok in which he recounted the experience, a quick Google search revealed that it was a Frits Henningsen chair and similar pieces had sold for thousands of dollars.

The chair had been listed by a woman tasked with selling the unwanted items of a Beverly Hills couple in exchange for a part of the profits. While she initially set out to do a yard sale, a passerby informed her that sales of the kind weren't allowed in the neighborhood. Prioritizing getting rid of everything quickly over making big bucks, she listed the objects on Facebook Marketplace with a same-day pick-up.

Miller did ponder about disclosing the value of the chair with the seller, as he didn't want to feel like he was taking advantage of someone. However, the woman was completely aware of the chair's value. This chair's worth a lotjust so you know, she told him.

Since his apartment is too small for the chair, he took...

Depressed individuals often experience changes in appetite and sleep patterns, which can exacerbate their symptoms and hinder daily functioning. Moreover, they may frequently use specific words in conversations and writing that underscore their negative thinking patterns.

Seeking help from a mental health professional is vital for individuals struggling with depression. Treatment options such as medication and therapy can lead to significant improvements in mood, energy levels, and overall quality of life. Furthermore, a strong support network of family and friends can be immensely beneficial in managing depressive symptoms. Its crucial to remember that depression is treatable, and with the right support, recovery is achievable.

Here are seven words that people with depression commonly use, along with ways to support someone dealing with these issues:

  1. Always Depressed individuals often feel trapped in negative situations, using words like always to describe them as unchangeable. Encourage them to recognize opportunities for change and improvement.
  2. Never Similar to always, those with depression may use never when describing negative experiences they believe will persist. Help them understand that change is possible and promote a more positive outlook.
  3. Nothing People with depression might feel hopeless about their future and use nothing to express their e...

Heres the Secret, Non-Toxic Trick to Evicting Mice from Your Kitchen "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Having a mouse in the house can be an unpleasant experience. Not only do these rodents pose a potential health risk, but they can also cause damage to your property. While there are many ways to get rid of mice, its crucial to consider non-toxic alternatives, especially if you have children or pets. In this article, we will discuss some safe and effective solutions for keeping mice away from your home, as well as exploring the habits of mice, why they are attracted to our homes, and some unique characteristics of these creatures.

The Habits of Mice:

Mice are small mammals that are known for their remarkable adaptability. They can survive in a wide range of environments, including human dwellings. These nocturnal creatures have a keen sense of smell and are constantly searching for food. Mice are also skilled climbers and jumpers, which enables them to access various parts of a building.

Mice are attracted to our homes for several reasons. First, they seek shelter and warmth, particularly during colder months. Second, our homes provide a constant source of food, as we often store food in pantries or leave crumbs behind. Finally, our homes offer plenty of hiding spots for mice, such as wall cavities and cluttered areas.

Mice have some unique qualities that make them particularly adept at infiltrating our homes. For example, they have flexible skeletons that allow them to squeeze through small gaps and holes. Moreover, they have an impressive reproductive rate, which means that a small mouse problem can quickly escalate if not addressed promptly.

Non-toxic Solutions to Keep Mice Away:

  1. Peppermint Oil

Mice are repelled by the strong smell of peppermint oil. To use this natural remedy, add a few drops of peppermint oil to a cotton ball and wipe it on the baseboards in your kitchen, pantry, or any other area where mice might be present. This will create a barrier that deters mice from entering these spaces.

To enhance the effectiveness of this method, place additional peppermint oil-soaked cotton balls in the corners of cabinets, shelves, or other areas where food is stored. Replace the cotton balls every few weeks to maintain their potency. Using peppermint oil is not only a safe and effective way to keep mice away but also leaves your home smelling fresh and clean.

Note of Caution:

Peppermint oil, while generally safe for humans, can be toxic to cats when ingested or absorbed through the skin in large amounts. Cats are more sensitive to the compounds found in essential oils, including peppermint oil, due to their unique liver metabolism. Their liver lacks certain enzymes that are necessary for breaking down and eliminating these compounds from their bodies. As a result, toxic substances can build up in a cats system, leading to potential health issues.

Ingestion of peppermint oil can cause gastrointestinal up...

Classic-Inspired Ceramic Vessels Are Decorated With 360 Degrees of Stories "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Classic-Inspired Ceramic Vessels Are Decorated With 360 Degrees of Stories

Terracotta Blues Ceramics by Clara Holt

For centuries, pottery has not only served as functional tools but also as works of art. Artist Clara Holt collaborates with Chiara Zoppei to continue this tradition. Together, they create Terracotta Blues. This striking series of blue and red ceramic pieces recall ancient aesthetics from Greece and Italy. Etched into these beautiful vases are dreamy narratives inspired by myths, making them a vision to behold.

In this project, Zoppeiwho works as a ceramist in Milanproduced a series of terracotta ceramics based on classical forms. These vases were then passed onto Holt, who embellished their surface with her illustrations. To do this, she employed the sgraffito technique, where a layer of slip (a mixture of clay, pigment, and water) is applied over the surface of the pot. Then, she used a sharp tool to scratch and carve the design, which slowly revealed the natural color of the clay vessel below. This resulted in the striking combination of blue slip and natural terracotta red.

As for what Holt etches into the vases, there are many identifiable figures such as mermaids and winged humans, as well as numerous animals. In Terracotta Blues, there is no clear and recognizable subject, no precise story, Holt explains to My Modern Met. They are dreamlike scenes, imaginary characters that leave room for interpretation. For example, in one vase there is a mermaid hypnotized by a jellyfish; in another, a warrior mermaid armed with a sword and shield against two giant octopuses This freedom allows viewers to immerse themselves in these 360 artworks and find the motifs that speak to them.

Scroll down to see more art from the Terracotta Blues series, and follow Holt's Instagram to keep updated on her latest projects.

The Lion of Chaeronea "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Planning a summer journey to Palermo, Sicily. I had thought I might go to Portugal, or perhaps Scotland, but after a dozen years absence the siren song of la mia bella Italia was too strong to resist. Itll be a good base from which to explore the ruins at Eryx and Segesta, and if Im feeling particularly bold, I might even take a side jaunt to Malta. In the meantime, Im brushing up on my Italian. (I realize the Italian Im practicing is actually Tuscan, and the Sicilian dialect is quite different, but one must walk before one can run.)

I have to confess, sometimes I wish I could just chuck everything and wander aimlessly around the Mediterranean. I feel at home there in a way that I really dont in the States. Ah, well. A man can always dream.

Lyrical Illustrations Celebrate the Diversity of Wildlife and the Joy of Observation "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Lyrical Illustrations Celebrate the Diversity of Wildlife and the Joy of Observation

Watercolor Illustrations by Vitor Velez

Before photography, it was up to artists to document plants and animals in scientific illustrations. Poland-based artist Vitor Velez draws inspiration from this age-old practice in his series of mixed-media illustrations. Using a combination of colored pencils, pens, and watercolors, he captures a breadth of wildlife.

From foxes to whales, these drawings cover a variety of species. Velez traces his love for nature to his childhood, where he honed his skills by copying illustrations from encyclopedias. Now, he makes his own notes that border the colorful portraits of animals both large and small. His artistic handwriting flies across the page, sometimes merging with the drawings in an aesthetic that is all his own.

In addition to rendering the full body of these animals, Velez also makes smaller illustrations of the details, like eyes and pawprints, which demonstrate his keen observation.

I draw parallels between my art and scientific illustration with regard to the level of attention to the level of detail and singular characteristics of each animal I paint, but I also pursue a personal interpretation beyond a mere realistic representation, Velez tells My Modern Met. Through my journey, I have learned that every single creature holds its own distinct beauty, and I find myself falling in love with every single one I spend time observing and sketching.

You can learn how to purchase original art and keep up to date with Velez's newest projects by following his Instagram.

This article was originally written in 2014.
The Internet is filled with revelations of how the global elite want to depopulate humanity by 90%. Landmarks such as the Georgia Guidestones are top of the evidence list for proof of this agenda. There is an emerging body of evidence that the Georgia Guidestones are a correct representation of this idea.

Where ever you find a bold new initiative related to the plans of the global elite, you will find documentation arising from various think tank organizations in support of these goals. With regard to the coming forced subjugation of the American population to the stack and pack megacities, two important papers, the 3D: Infrastructure for Californias Future and the National Academy of Public Administrations Memos to National Leaders: Partnerships as Fiscal Policy, jump to the front of the line in espousing the megacities concept. On August 27, 2014, I exposed the megacities concept in revealing something called the America 2050 plan. The enslavement of America and one has taken center stage and it is called America 2050. Lido DAO Records Biggest Network Transaction In 2 Years Santiment "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

DeFi staking protocol Lido DAO (LDO) has just experienced its largest network transaction in two years, according to a report by Santiment.

The popular on-chain analytics firm states that on May 5, $135 million worth of LDO tokens were transferred from one self-custody wallet to another.

According to Santiment, 70 million LDO tokens were moved in this transaction, marking the networks biggest coin transfer since June 2021 and its eighth-largest transfer of all time.

Lido

Lido DAO is the most prominent liquid staking platform allowing users to effortlessly participate in staking on several PoS networks, including Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Polkadot (DOT), Solana (SOL), and Kusama (KSM).

That said, the LDO whale transaction that occurred earlier today may have drawn much attention to the network; however, this is yet to elicit any positive price effect on the token.

According to data by Coingecko, LDO is currently trading at $1.85, recording a 0.34% decline in the last 24 hours and an 11.7% cumulative loss in the past week. Additionally, the tokens daily trading volume is down by 47.26% to a value of $31.95 million.

However, this current bearish form does not taint what has been a remarkable year for the Lido protocol.

Woman Wonders Whether Its OK To Lie About What Youre Feeding Someone If Its Good For Them "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Go ahead and buckle up, folks, because this one is a doozy.

Youve heard of those cookbooks that help moms hide vegetables in their kids food, right? As a mom, youve probably been tempted to try a few of the recipes, if you havent aleady.

What if you felt the need to use them on your adult partner instead?

Thats the situation that OP found herself in, as her boyfriend refused to eat vegetables pretty much ever.

I (28f) have been with my boyfriend (36f) for a year and we moved in together about 4 months ago.

One of the first things I noticed about my boyfriend was that he never really ate vegetables. He would sometimes eat them if we were out at a restaurant and they came as part of his meal. But he never ate them when I cooked for him.

Originally I thought that maybe my cooking was the problem so I asked him if he enjoyed my food and he told me he loves my cooking. On nights I didnt cook for him, he ate exclusively frozen foods and never ate the vegetables in those either.

He has health problems and vitamin deficiencies that she believed were the result, so after a while, she began to sneak veggies into his food. He ate it, never complained, and his health even began to improve.

Even after he told her of the improvements to his health, she kept her mouth shut about what she believed was the reason.

Naturally, he has some health issues. Vitamin deficiencies etc. he had phrased it to me as if he was somehow just genetically unlucky. I believed it for a while bc idk how that stuff works but eventually it became clear to me its because he voluntarily eats a vegetable like once a month.

6 months ago I started hiding vegetables in my cooking. If I was making pasta Id put the vegetables in Id usually put in for myself, then take half out an...

9 Warning Signs Someone May Be A High-Functioning Alcoholic: The Impact of Alcoholism and Liver Damage "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Over the years, alcohol addiction has yet again manifested herself as wicked of a muse as shes always been. Alarmingly, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), nearly 14.1 million adults in the United States suffer from alcohol use disorder (AUD). A few pints a week may seem harmless at first, but before you know it, youre hooked. Chronic alcohol consumption can lead to severe liver damage, including fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, fibrosis, and cirrhosis, significantly impacting ones health.

Slowly but surely, you say goodbye to the days when you used to drink just for the sake of it. You start to say hello to the dark times when you drink because youre in desperate need of an escape.

Before you down that eighth tequila shot of the night, think of the millions of individuals from all around the world who have fallen victim to alcoholism. Most of them have never looked back, and they have ended up facing fatal consequences. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that approximately 3 million deaths occur each year due to harmful alcohol use.

Here are nine of the most common signs someone could be a high-functioning alcoholic (or HFA) and the physical repercussions, especially on the liver:

  1. You become nervous, uneasy, or ill-tempered if you dont get your daily alcohol fix.

This one is particularly telling. When an HFA is compelled to forgo drinking entirely, his or her entire body undergoes severe adverse reactions. Alcohol dependence can lead to withdrawal symptoms, such as tachycardia, anxiety, excessive sweating, nervousness, and even seizures, which could further strain the liver.

  1. You prefer drinking over eating.

Choosing booze over a delicious stack of bacon burgers may seem unfathomable to a sober person, but to an alcoholic, it sounds like a really good compromise. In fact, most if not all HFAs use every mealtime as an excuse to break out the good liquor. This habit can result in malnutrition, making it harder for the liver to heal from alcohol-induced damage.

  1. You are not satisfied with just one or two drinks.

If youre an HFA, you will most likely have trouble stopping once you start drinking. You will almost always finish other peoples drinks. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to inflammation and fat accumulation in the liver, eventually causing cirrhosis, liver failure, or liver cancer.

  1. You wake up without feeling really hungover, even after a multitude of shots.

Now, this may sound like some sort of superpower, but it really isnt. A healthy persons liver can process roughly one drink per hour. Thats usually how long alcohol stays in ones...

If We Can Ignore Polarization, Bitcoin Will Fix Bipartisan Authoritarianism "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

This is an opinion editorial by Mickey Koss, a West Point graduate with a degree in economics. He spent four years in the infantry before transitioning to the Finance Corps.

Whether its the Patriot Act, COVID-19 measures or the proposed RESTRICT Act, it seems that the only thing U.S. politicians can agree on is that taking away freedoms is essential. Its for your own safety, you see. And we cant forget about security, too. Who wouldnt want to be safe and secure?

The unilateral agreement around these measures has made the phrase bipartisan a warning sign in my eyes and I am increasingly concerned about the direction were moving.

Bread, Circuses And Conflict

I was criticized on NOSTR recently for covering environmentalist Bitcoiners, the justification being that the environmentalist movement is a net negative for society. While I understand where this individual who criticized me is coming from, I think there are some deeper concerns at hand hidden behind their comments.

After some reflection, I came to a realization: People are not really concerned with the environmentalist movement. In fact, people are not really concerned about politics at all. Most political disagreements are surface-level proxy wars for a much deeper argument: the argument over control.

Who is going to have control? What are they going to use it for? How is this going to affect my life?

As governments expand at increasing rates, the fear over who has control grows along with it. I think this is the root of the polarization were seeing today. The real concern is about central planners and central planning. Everything else is a distraction. I think thats the real psyop.

Bitcoin Defunds Central Planners

As more and more people adopt bitcoin as their savings vehicle, we can begin to grow the parallel economy and take the exorbitant privilege of money printing out of the hands of those who would seek to abuse it.

In doing so, we can slowly but surely defund the central planners that so many are fearful of. In doing so, we can reduce the level of control that keeps us up at night. In doing so, we can reduce the amount of political polarization that is seemingly tearing the country apart.

I think that too many are fighting the wrong fight and missing the forest for the trees. If Bitcoin is truly incorruptible, then why do you care who chooses to support i...

Crypto Firms Plans To Leave The US Speak Imminent Doom, Says Tim Draper "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The United States is gradually becoming too hot for crypto firms to operate due to unclear and stringent regulatory approaches. For instance, a recent development that sparked an outcry was the proposal to impose a 30% excise tax on crypto-mining facilities.

US President Joe Bidens budget proposal presented a phased-in tax on the electricity used by crypto mining firms. This tax and the Securities and Exchange Commissions enforcement actions may push many top crypto firms and startups to consider offshore operations. As such, Tim Draper foresees a massive departure from the US that might crash its economy.

US Unclear Regulatory Environment Is Leading To Massive Crypto Exodus

In a Twitter post, the founder of DFJvc, Draper mentioned that Silicon Valley startups are relocating operations to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

He further stated that Gemini and Coinbase are moving out of the US due to the regulatory pressure on their operations. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong hinted at the same outcome in an April conference organized by the Innovative Finance industry body.

While speaking, Armstrong stated that the Bahamas-based FTX exchange that crashed in 2022 shows the need for clear crypto regulations. As such, the industry needs clear regulations in the US and UK, or more firms will establish operations in offshore havens.

New York Is Losing Blockchain Development Leadership

Draper also pointed out that countries like Singapore, Dubai, and London gradually overtake New York in blockchain development. A report by Global Media Insight on March 29, 2023, pitched the UAE as the most digital-friendly country in the world.

Sex Swing Used as Cat Condo "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Spouses Josh and Natasha Taylor are reportedly in a losing battle for control of their sex swing a purchase made to spice up their intimacy that has gradually become a habitat for their cat Danzig, aggravated sources confirmed.

Its annoying. I set up the swing for Nat on our eighth anniversary, and within ten minutes it was covered in cat fur. Its tough to get in the mood when you spend most of the time for foreplay lint rolling the hell out of the swing, said Mr. Taylor. We ended up using it a couple times that week. It was fun I guess, but it was pretty distracting with Ziggy staring, talking to us, and trying to jump onto the seat every five seconds. I think he thinks its a game, but I wish hed use that fucking cat tree we got him.

The couple reports mounting pressure to reclaim the swing for themselves before the cat makes it a permanent home.

Its kind of taken the spontaneity out of using it, but Josh says we should show dominance and mark the swing as our territory, said Mrs. Taylor while attempting to remove some accumulated hair and dander from the INTIMIX 600 with a special pet hair vacuum. Its really sweet that he even bought it we saw a couple playing with one when we were watching Love Island and I off-handedly said it looked fun. I didnt even think he was listening.

I think Zig likes it more than I do, though, Taylor went on. It kind of hurts my back and our two usual positions work fine for me, to be honest.

Sex and intimacy expert Ayo Diallo noted that products couples purchase to aid in romance regularly become the possessions of their household pets.

Bringing toys and accessories into the bedroom can be great, but its really just a way to get couples talking about what they like more than its about repeated use, Diallo said. My partner and I got one of those wedge pillows we used it a few times, but these days our chihuahua climbs up it to get on the couch. Now if Im going to do doggy, I just stretch first.

At press time, the Taylors announced plans to repurpose a riding crop they purchased on Valentines Day 2018 into a wand toy.

Every Interpol Album Ranked "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Interpol is one of the great bands to emerge from the rock scene of New York in the early 2000s, when your hair was beautiful and greasy and you were sure that doing shitty coke in bathrooms would never, ever get boring. Led by vocalist/guitarist/human vocoder Paul Banks, the band has produced seven albums in an effort to shake off the Joy Division comparisons, so lets get into it.

7. The Other Side of Make-Believe (2022)

Its always easy to take a shot at a band for their most recent album, and Interpol made it even easier for us with The Other Side of Make-Believe. The title is a good indicator of the groups gradually loosening grip on wordplay, while the songs are just as tired as youd expect 20 years after their debut. The album was initially written via email due to COVID, but all that makes us want to do is listen to the Postal Service instead.

Play it again: Something Changed
Skip it: Into the Night (It is crazy how long this song goes on without doing something interesting)

6. Interpol (2010)

When a band delivers a self-titled album deep into their recording career, its rarely a good sign. For Interpol, their fourth album Interpol marked both their last album with original bassist Carlos D (Dengler, if youre nasty) and the bands initial wave of consistently good albums. Guys, if youre going to open with a song titled Success, maybe make sure its actually good.

Play it again: Barricade
Skip it: Summer Well

The Best Warped Tour Lineups That Will Give You Heat Stroke Just Thinking About Them "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

For many self-identified weirdos, Warped Tour was the perfect yearly gathering. It combined the best of alternative music and culture for a fun day in the sun. That is if you prepared yourself adequately, which few of us did and we are probably all going to have skin cancer because of it. Here are the top 10 Warped Tour lineups. Feel free to enjoy them from the comfort of your air-conditioned home where a bottle of water hopefully costs less than eight dollars.

10. 1996

This was the second year of Warped Tour and the first one we remember. Since we were blacked out during the entirety of the first one, we did not prepare ourselves for the harsh conditions of a punk show in the Summer. Like last year, we did the mini shots we snuck in by the port-a-potties first. Next, we checked out Dance Hall Crashers and Blink 182. The rest is a blur but we do know that were the reason that the following years festival had a medical tent.

Best Band: CIV (still underrated)
Worst Band: Red 5 (who the fuck is Red 5?)

9. 2017

By 2017, we had learned how to adequately prepare for Warped Tour. At this point in time, musically, the festival had entered its third and final phase. The lineup was mostly a few legacy acts plus whatever is trendy in alternative music. This year had the best overall lineup of this era. Come on, metalcore isnt that bad when its live. At least until the clean vocals kick in.

Best Band: GWAR
Worst Band: American Authors

Opinion: Pop Songs Existed in the 80s So Nu-Metal Bands Could Perfect Them in the Late 90s "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Many regard the 1980s as the golden age of pop music. Many popular songs of the decade laid the foundation for the mindless, cash-grabbing, soulless radio hits that record companies force on the masses, to be played ad nauseam in grocery stores and dentist office waiting rooms forever. But there is one silver lining at the end of the shit-tunnel of pop song garbage, and its wearing tripp pants and Invader Zim arm stockings.

Im talking about Nu-Metal, of course.

When I hear Smooth Criminal by that Michael Jackson dude, it conjures up images of a decade of neon lights, Miami Vice, and big, big hair. But I say to hell with that. I want to conjure up the image of manufactured angst, frosted tips, and failing miserably at skateboarding that only Alien Ant Farms cover can bring me.

Maybe Im being a tad bit harsh towards 80s pop music. There definitely are many artists and bands that had mega-popular songs from the decade that are genuinely good. Like George Michael. I mean that song Faith is pretty damn good. But lets be honest, it doesnt even come close to how Mr. Durst and Co. absolutely crushed that song. They just did it better. And they added a bunch of cool swear words too.

their cover of Blue Monday. And how could anyone Fears Shout? I honestly cannot think of another genre that spun covering songs into an art form quite like Nu-Metal did in the later part of the 1990s into the 2000s. Miss me completely with all that phony pop stuff, Ill take the phony Nu-Metal versions instead.

Five Finger Death Punch Fan Spends Entire Paycheck on Airbrush Stenciled Pocketknives Again "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

CHIPLEY, Fla. Diehard Five Finger Death Punch fan Aaron Stummerer recently squandered all of his weekly earnings on shoddily-made knives with tacky, patriotic designs airbrushed on the handles, spendthrift sources confirmed.

I work hard at my part-time job as the guy at the driving range who drives the golf ball collector cart around. So whose business is it but mine if I wanna spend all my money on an assisted action folding knives with bald eagles riding Harleys stenciled on them, explained Stummerer. I dont care that my utilities are overdue, or that the hospital is threatening to take Nana off life support if I dont make an insurance payment soon. Who needs insurance when youve got literally thousands of badass-looking knives to protect yourself?

Amos Whitley, owner of the gas station mini mart where Stummerer regularly clears out the entire inventory, has thus far been supportive of his purchasing choices.

That yutz has almost single handedly kept my entire business afloat. How do you think a rural gas station pays the bills without selling bullshit to short-dicked goons like him? stated Whitley while restocking the stations display of Zippo lighters with God Dont Make No Trash written on them. Now I just bulk buy cases of those knives and a couple times a week I put some new designs on the counter. Although personally, I dont see much difference between the grim reaper firing a machine gun and the grim reaper throwing a hand grenade, but still, those are two of our best sellers.

Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory gave his perspective on Stummerers compulsion.

I like to think we set an example for how our fans should live. Thats why whenever were on tour, I make sure we stop at every single truckstop we pass to buy all of their ashtrays shaped like nude women, explained Bathory, who does not smoke. 5FDP is not just a band, its a way of lifeand that way is obviously the one that includes a lot of day-glo butterfly knives that also have nude women airbrushed on them.

At press time, Stummerer was once again rehearsing his excuse for why there would be no rent money this month.

Bitcoin Struggles To Break $30,000 Resistance Level: Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The cryptocurrency market has been trading sideways in recent weeks, with the leading token, Bitcoin, following a similar pattern. Despite numerous attempts in April, Bitcoin has struggled to break the $31,000 mark. The price is blocked by its daily Kijun at around $29,100 and by its psychological resistance at $30,000.

A correction to around $25,000 could be preferred to prepare for an extended bull run as long as this zone blocks prices. This would correspond to a retest of the same resistance level at the beginning of the year and can be confirmed as the support level.

Bitcoin struggling to surpass its resitance level: source@tradingview

In the event of a break through the $31,000 mark, then Bitcoin could continue to climb towards $33,500. This would provide the next resistance level ahead of a potential ascent to $40,000. However, if the bears persist below $25.000, Bitcoin risks breaking the price spread, which could cause the price to fall below the $18,000 mark.

Bullish Sentiment Based On External Factors

Bitcoin is in good stead and could make a major bull run due to the following factors. First, the banking crisis is plaguing the United States and other parts of the world. Secondly, there is the decoupling between BTC and traditional markets. Finally, we can mention the brake on interest rates the US Federal Reserve promised.

The Silicon Valley Bank bankruptcy in early March is still wreaking havoc on the industry, with many Americans scared of placing their money in the Bank. Bitcoins recent price surge has coincided with this, showing its flexibility as digital gold.

Coinbase Might Soon Offer Banking-Like Services, Claims Ripple Board Member "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The second-largest crypto exchange, Coinbase, is still progressing despite the US Securities and Exchange Commissions enforcement action against it.

As such, a Ripple board member and an angel investor at PartyDAO, Asheesh Birla, predict it might offer crypto-enabled banking services.

Coinbase Is Transitioning From Crypto Exchange

In a Twitter thread, Birla recounted Coinbases mission, vision, and value proposition in the crypto industry, concluding that it might offer banking-like services backed by crypto.

According to the angel investor, the second largest exchange aims at building the crypto economy. This financial system will be accessible, efficient, transparent, powered by crypto, and fair to all users.

Birla further revealed that Coinbases 2023 quarter-one report showed that more of the exchanges revenues came from deposits through interest income, custodial fees, and blockchain rewards. These revenue streams were classified under subscription and services.

Based on the quarterly report, Birla pointed out USDC deposits interest at $199 million, representing 18% of all Coinbase revenue.

Also, the exchanges revenue gradually moves from consumer transactions to institutional consumers with high margins. Institutional trading revenue spiked by 67% from its 2022 Q4 amount.

The Ripple board member also noted that Coinbase now benefits from banking-like revenues not entirely dependent on the crypto market.

Banking Crisis Might Push Alternative Services

While concluding his post, Birla wondered if the time has come for consumers and institutions to turn to alternative services.

Notably, the recent banking crisis that led to the crash of Silvergate, Silicon Valley, and Signature Bank has reduced peoples trust in the traditional financial system.

Birla cited a recent Bloomberg Opinion piece by Matt Levine titled; Nobody Trusts Banks Now, asking if the timing is right for everyone to move on to alternatives.

In the piece, Levine described banking operations strategies in two ways. First, banks borrow short to lend long. Secondly, they borrow long to lend long. In the first strategy, banks use customers deposits subject to fast withdrawals to buy bonds and fund loans.

Ukraine "Blasphemes" Hindu Goddess Kali, Sparking Indian Backlash "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Ukraines Ministry of Defense caused a stir among Indian netizens after tweeting a photo portraying the Indian goddess Kali morphed over a blast fume on April 30th, deeming it Hinduphobic and disrespectful.

The official Twitter account of Ukraines Ministry of Defense posted the image showing Kali superimposed over the fumes. The picture depicted the Hindu goddess of war and destruction posing awkwardly with her tongue sticking out and having a Marilyn Monroe-like upskirt moment, with a wreath of skulls around her neck.

The image, posted with the caption Work of art, was created by Ukrainian artist Maksym Palenko, whose artworks won many prestigious awards, including the Shevchenko National Prize, Ukraines most significant honor.

The tweet garnered strong, adverse reactions from many Indian netizens, who saw the photo as blasphemous and disrespectful to Hinduism. They were angry about the caricature-like depiction of Kali, who was considered to be an important figure in the religion. The blast fume also resembled the goddesss blue skin, fueling the fire.

Iran in Turmoil: Islamic Cleric Assassinated in Brazen Daylight Attack "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

As the protests against the Islamic Republic in Iran enter their eighth month after the death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022 under police custody, many in the country are shocked to learn about the assassination of a senior cleric in a bank on April 26.

Ayatollah Abbas Ali Soleimani was assassinated inside a bank in Babolsar in Irans Mazandaran province, just north of Irans capital, Tehran.

Irans state television initially reported that a man overpowered a guard and shot the cleric. State media also reported an account from an eyewitness, saying that the assassin grabbed a guard's gun and opened fire, killing Soleimani while injuring three others.

However, surveillance camera footage later shared by Iranian media showed the gunman walking around holding a gun inside the bank with Soleimani sitting down. After a few minutes, the suspect shot Soleimani with his rifle.

A window behind Soleimani was shattered, and his turban fell off after he was shot. One of the bystanders, wearing a blue uniform, was seen shocked and staring at the assailant. He approached the assailant, while another bystander in a green uniform went out of the counter and approached him. The footage showed the two trying to grab and contain the assailant before it ended.

Cardano Whales Accumulating Why Is ADA Bearish? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Despite a massive Cardano whale accumulation, ADA, its native currency, remains bearish, prompting questions about the strength of the underlying fundamentals and whether the leg up of Q1 2023 is over.

ADAs volatility has been dropping in recent weeks despite a slew of positive developments, mainly from on-chain data.

As an illustration, the coin is down roughly 20% from April peaks and retesting a local support zone of around $0.38.

Whales Doubling Down, Activity Rising In Cardano

Still, even in these market conditions, there are signs that ADA whales are accumulating in the ecosystem. Although the reason for the swarm is unclear, according to IntoTheBlock, large transactions worth over $100,000 have been made over the past 24 hours, worth around $10 billion. The bulk sale of this size stands at $20 billion in the past week.

Moreover, data also shows that large holders control 35% of ADAs total supply. These entities act as a proxy to institutional players and whale activities, showing how they may be investing and positioning.

While it is unclear what knowledge the Cardano whales have, their activities suggest that they are buying the dip. This is considering that ADA is still down around 87% from 2021 peaks.

Besides whales buying in bulk, Cardanos ecosystem is showing promising signs, with the blockchain remaining one of the most highly developed and used.

According to Santiment, 2.15 billion transactions were processed on Cardano. Typically, active networks, in both development and use, point to quality and confidence. The more there are projects and addresses, the higher the odds of the platforms coin finding support.

The spike in activity over the past few months, even with the general market lull, could be due to various non-fungible token (NFT) and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects launching. Djed, an algorithmic stablecoin, is already live on the mainnet. DeFi and NFT projects look to take advantage of Cardanos EUTXO model. This system mirrors how Bitcoin functions but adds a layer of smart contracting, just like Ethereum.

Vitalik Buterin And Ethereum Foundation Selling ETH Will Prices Fall? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Ethereum supporters are confident that prices will break the $2,000 level. However, recent moves by its founder, Vitalik Buterin, and the Ethereum Foundation, the team managing the smart contracting platform, raises concerns, especially from coin holders and traders, on whether the coin has what it needs to break above key resistance levels.

ETH Transfer Raises Concerns Among Investors

On May 5, a tracker, LookOnChain, noticed that Vitalik.eth, the domain associated with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, transferred 200 ETH, which is worth about $400,000 at current valuation, to Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange.

Shortly after that, the Ethereum Foundation also made a much larger transfer, moving 15,000 ETH, worth about $30 million, to the same platform.

This has raised concerns among holders, who are worried that the dumping of such a large amount of ETH could further pressure prices.

Its worth noting that ETH is currently down 13% from its April highs, and sliding.

Coin holders, including those of ETH, typically send tokens from time to time. Even so, any transfer to a centralized exchange is interpreted as bearish. Vitalik Buterin might need funds to cover operating costs or even invest in projects. At this time, it is not known why he sells.

In the past, Buterin has sold ETH in batches without causing a significant price drop.

What Inventions Might Not Seem Important Now But Will Have A Big Impact In The Future? People Share Their Thoughts. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

There are some inventions that we know are going to be huge as soon as we hear about them the air fryer comes to mind and others that honestly end up taking us by surprise.

Even though these ideas might have flown under the radar, people really think were going to see a big impact from them down the road.

Drip irrigation systems.

Low-pressure solar-powered drip irrigation systems.

Drip irrigation delivers water through a piping network to drip emitters that release the water directly at the base of the crops, avoiding water losses due to evaporation, runoff, and infiltration.

Drip can reduce water consumption by 20-60% compared to conventional flood irrigation, and has been shown to increase yields by 20-50% for certain crops. Because irrigation accounts for over 70% of freshwater use in most regions of the world, large-scale adoption of drip irrigation would reduce the consumption of freshwater and be an asset for locations around the world experiencing water shortages and groundwater depletion.

Upcoming Ethereum Upgrade To Reduce Fees Details "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The second largest crypto blockchain Ethereum is preparing for a new upgrade that will reduce transaction fees on the network. The upgrade tagged Dencun will also introduce more use cases for Ethereum.

Notably, Ethereum Foundation made the announcement of Dencun upgrade just three weeks after the Shapella upgrade.

With the upcoming Dencun upgrade, Ethereum network users can now transact with lower fees.

Introducing Dencun Upgrade What You Need To Know

The upcoming Dencun upgrade will feature Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). These are proposals that aim to bring changes to the network. The Ethereum community usually reviews the proposals to accept or reject them.

If the community accepts the EIPs, they become a part of the Ethereum network codes. The Dencun upgrades have four proposals, including EIP-1153, EIP-6475, EIP-4844, and EIP-6748.

The first proposal is EIP-4844 or Proto-Danksharding or The Surge. The Surge aims to bring in data blobs for Layer 2 solutions to post transaction and proof data instead of CALLDATA.

The blobs offer lower gas costs since theyre never stored on the blockchain permanently. The blob aims to lower the transaction fee on Ethereum.

Other Dencun Proposals Bring Diverse Changes

The second important proposal for review is the EIP-6780. This proposal is to deactivate the SELFDESTRUCT opcode but still preserve its functionality. EIP-6780 proposal will allow the creation and erasure of contracts in a single transaction but not delete the contract code or storage.

The third proposal is EIP-1153 which will bring two new opcodes, TSTORE and TLOAD, to the network. The developers aim to provide transient storage that will be cleared once a transaction ends. This will add more use cases, from re-entry locks to single-transaction ERC20 approvals.

The fourth proposal is EIP-6475: SSZ Optionals. This change supports EIP-4844 since it defines one of its SSZ elements in the transaction format. The aim is to facilitate forward...

When you mix in wool suits, drinking, and lots of dancing, some of us Colonists were working up a bit of a sweat. Thankfully, the venue had a balcony, with huge doors.

I kept going over and opening them, as some folks were inside, some were outside, and there was a nice breeze but I had to keep going over, because they were shut whenever I looked back.

Finally, after the 5th or 6th time, this guy followed me, and demanded I keep the doors shut because it was cold inside. I didnt know who he was, so he must have been a +1 of someone on my wifes side, so I was mighty confused when he said, and I quote Who the hell do you think you are keeping these doors open, and the temperature so low inside.

Im the guy who bought you dinner.

I watched him go over to my now cousin-in-law and grab his coat and almost pull her out the front door.

I thought one of my Groomsmen was going to burst he laughed so hard.

Quiet but effective.

I used to work for a super c**ty manager when I...

Polygon Bears Gain Ground As MATIC Continues To Retreat "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Polygon (MATIC) is slightly shedding its gains today as the bears aim to seize control of its price. Despite the price fluctuations, its trading volume is up by 16%, indicating growing interest from traders.

Polygon has dropped below the $1 mark since April 23. However, it trades within the $0.9 and $1 price range.

Whats Next For MATIC?

MATIC is in a sideways trend today, forming a red candle on the price chart. The recent price volatility might reflect the activities in the general crypto market, where the top coins are slightly gaining.

MATIC has dropped below its 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), with bearish sentiment in the short and long term. Also, its Relative Strength Index (RSI) is 40.24 in the neutral zone.

However, the indicator is moving downwards and might descend into the oversold region of 30 if the bears prevail.

MATICs Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is slightly above the signal line and shows convergence. Also, it has a negative value, a bearish signal for the asset. The technical indicators suggest that MATIC might experience further price decline before the bulls rally again.

Polygon (MATIC) Sinks Again, Bear Show More Skin In The Game

MATIC is trading close to the $0.9451 support level, and the bears at the $1.0064 resistant level have kept its price down.

If the current market conditions persist, a descent to the next support level of $0.9231 is possible. However, MATIC is currently in a sideways trend reflecting traders hesitation in the market. It will likely fall to the $0.9451 resistance before the bulls rally again.

Securitize Launches On Polygon Despite Price Drop

A trading firm, Securitize,  launched a feeder fund on the Polygon blockchain. Investors can use these funds to collect secure loans and access liquidity on the platform. Also, this funding is in collaboration with Hamilton Lane (Nasdaq: HLNE) which is exclusive to the polygon blockchain.

The Brain Myth: Your Intellect and Thoughts Originate in Your Heart, Not Your Brain "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? The things that come out of the mouth come from the heart. Words of Jesus Christ recorded in the Bible.

by Brian Shilhavy

Those of us who have been educated in Western Culture today have been taught to believe that the center of a persons consciousness and thoughts is our brain.

Like a computer that contains a microprocessor that allows the computer to accomplish all of its various tasks, the idea that a human being also works like a computer with a brain that functions like a microprocessor, is something that almost all people raised in Western Culture assume is a fact.

But it is not a fact. It is a belief system.

And as a belief system, would it surprise you to learn that this is a fairly modern belief, and that historically it has not been the brain that has been considered the driving force in humans that allows them to think and reason, but that historically it has been the heart that is attributed to human consciousness, including our mind, speech, and thoughts?

When we look at the ancient literature written in non-Western cultures, the idea that the brain controls human thought and consciousness is mostly absent.

The largest collection of writings of antiquity that exist to us today is contained in the Bible, a collection of 66 unique writings spanning over thousands of years.

Most of the Bible was written in Hebrew and Greek, and the most common translations of the Bible found today are English translations.

I have an electronic Bible I use every day (e-Sword), and in this program I currently have about 16 different English translations of the Bible.

I searched every English translation I have for the word brain, and all of them turned up a negative result with ZERO instances of the English word brain used to translate any of the words in the original languages.

If one does a search for the word heart, however, it will return a result of almost 1000 matches where words in the original languages were translated into English as heart.

ABC News' "Editorial Judgment" Equals Censorship for RFK Jr "IndyWatch Feed Health"

90CE409A-AA01-498A-A419-18DAD87A3AF5ABC News' Linsey Davis interviews Presidential Candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. and admits that ABC cherry picked content. Every candidate should have his or her voice heard, regardless of topic. Anne Dachel transcribed the interview below. As ever, we cover candidates, we do not endorse them.

###

We should note that during our conversation, Kennedy 0D075334-10F8-4DA7-8655-7B3BFA7B925E made false claims about the COVID19 vaccines. Data shows that the COVID19 vaccines prevented millions of hospitalizations and death from the disease.

He also made misleading claims about the relationship between vaccination and autism. Research shows that vaccines and the ingredients used for the vaccines do not cause autism, including multiple studies involving more than a million children and major medical associations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the advocacy group Autism Speaks.

Weve used our editorial judgment in not including extended portions of that exchange in our interview.

We thank Mr. Ke...

They Assumed He Was Watching Their Kids Even Though They Never Asked "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Theres quite a debate going on right now when it comes to how people with kids should behave in a society where there are a growing number of people who do not want kids of their own.

I think its fair to say, though, that no one should be expected to watch children not their own especially without at least asking first.

OP is a single person who was at a family-friendly cookout with friends and co-workers. The age range was large and some people brought their children.

It was an indoor-outdoor situation with a backyard that was not fenced but backed up to a wooded area instead.

I(27m) was at a backyard cookout with some friends and coworkers. So the ages were late 20s to early 40s. It was a family friendly event so people brought their kids. They were playing in the yard while most of the adults hung out on the backyard deck. And like always, the parents saw other adults in the area and decided to just walk away and go inside.

I dont know why this is a thing a lot of parents tend to do. Parents, why do you just walk away at outings and expect other people to watch your kids? I dont get it. I could see if it is your immediate family but even then I would warn someone that I was not going to be watching for the safety of my kids.

Also want to note that the backyard is NOT fenced off. She brought that up a lot and I just retorted with even more reason to stay with your kids. The backyard was one of those open ones that opens into the forest.

No one was really watching the kids as they played outside not even when it got darker and a bit cooler and most of the adults migrated indoors.

It was near the end of t...

How to Save Your Life and Those You Love When Hospitalized "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this interview, Laura Bartlett and Greta Crawford detail how you can protect yourself from one of the top contributors to premature death, namely conventional hospital care. The key here is to understand what the dangers are and take proactive measures to guard yourself and your family from them.

Nearly 10 years ago, I interviewed Dr. Andrew Saul, author of Hospitals and Health: Your Orthomolecular Guide to a Shorter, Safer Hospital Stay, in which he details how to minimize your risk of being a victim of a medical error.

First and foremost, Saul recommended making sure you have a patient advocate, someone who can speak on your behalf if youre incapacitated and make sure youre receiving the correct medication and treatment. During COVID, however, family or friends were not allowed into the hospital, and patients were routinely bullied into treatments they did not want or consent to.

The good news is, Bartlett and Crawford have developed a legal document that, when served to the hospital in the proper way, can ensure that your medical wishes are honored. By eliminating any confusion about your consent (or denial of consent), this document can literally save your life.

Why ProtocolKills.com Was Created

Bartlett and Crawford have founded an organization to address the lethal and, in many cases, forced treatments patients receive when theyre hospitalized for COVID-19, but the same strategy can be used to protect yourself against other medical hazards as well. Crawford explains:

I created a website called ProtocolKills.com. This came after I was in the hospital with COVID. In the process of going to the hospital, I was denied informed consent and was completely unaware of some of the things they were doing to me. I was given five rounds of remdesivir, which nearly took my life, and I did not even know that I was being poisoned at the time ...

During that time in the hospital, I went from thinking I was going to go home after I got oxygen to actually feeling like that I was going to die. I was almost certain I was going to die after being given just the first dose of remdesivir ...

[And then there was] the constant push for the vaccine in the hospital, the harassment for not getting vaxxed, and the fact that I was given medication without my knowledge at all, which led me to start the website to not only inform people about what was going on, but [as] a platform to allow other victims who were not as fortunate as me.

Many of them, the majority of them, did not make it out alive. So, it's a platform for them to share their story...

How Americans Prevented the COVID Jab Mandate "IndyWatch Feed Health"

March 23, 2023, Barbara Loe Fisher, cofounder and president of the charitable National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) and NVIC co-founder Kathi Williams and I unveiled a public Truth and Freedom monument outside the Mercola office in Cape Coral, Florida.

Its a majestic bronze and marble monument dedicated to the many casualties of one-size-fits-all mandatory vaccination laws. It also celebrates civil liberties and human rights, the first of which is the right to autonomy and protection of bodily integrity.

If you don't have that right, if you cannot exercise that right, you can't exercise an informed consent to medical risk-taking, which includes vaccine risk-taking, Fisher says.

As she points out, there are lots of monuments in Washington, D.C., dedicated to prominent figures and wars. But there are no monuments to those who lost their lives because of mandatory vaccination policies and laws that include sanctions for noncompliance. For casualties of one-size-fits all vaccine policies, the risks of vaccination have turned out to be 100%, and weve certainly seen that during the last three years.

Fisher has been warning that the mandatory vaccination system is flawed since 1982. Since then, its only gotten more corrupt,...

The Use of EMF Filters for Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Editor's Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published September 9, 2018.

In this interview, Magda Havas, Ph.D., discusses the benefits of electromagnetic field (EMF) filters. These devices are particularly important for those who are electrosensitive.

Most people just don't want to believe EMFs are problematic because electricity and electric, wireless devices are so incredibly convenient and provide us with many logistical benefits. Most public health authorities also insist EMFs are safe. I was initially a skeptic myself, as was Havas.

I intellectually acknowledged there might be cause for concern, but I thought I could simply sidestep any danger by living a healthy lifestyle. Then, about a year and a half ago, I attended a presentation by Havas and Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, which served as a powerful catalyst for changing my views to the point I started taking aggressive steps to remediate and lower my exposure to EMFs.

Delving Into the Research

Havas is an associate professor at Trent University in Canada. Initially, her research focus was acid rain and metal pollution. In 1990, while teaching a course called "Pollution Ecology," she decided to include electrosmog as well.

"I had heard that children who live near power lines have an increased risk of developing leukemia," Havas says. "I thought this would be a different type of pollutant that I could introduce into the class. I update my lectures every year because the world of chemical toxicology changes so dramatically.

I began to look at the literature and found that it was really confusing. There were a lot of studies showing that, yes, children who live near power lines have a greater risk of developing various types of cancers I felt it wasn't time for me yet to enter this field because that wasn't my area of expertise. My area of expertise was chemical toxicology.

One day, my husband was visiting his brother in Wales. They were walking the dog late at night near a nuclear power plant. They went under some high-voltage transmission lines. My brother-in-law was a chemical mechanical engineer. He whipped out a fluorescent tube from under his coat and held it up under the power line. It lit up.

My husband came back and told me about this, because he knew I was interested but had put it on hold. That evening I unscrewed one of the tubes from our kitchen, under the cabinets. I did the same thing near a high-voltage transmission line, and it lit up. That sort of intrigued me. I didn't understand the physics of it. I do now, but it took me a while.
