Whitney Webb on the Globalist Overlords Meeting in Davos "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From Dr. Mercola:

Story at-a-glance

  • Investigative journalist Whitney Webb reveals the inner workings of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the driving force behind The Great Reset
  • Beneath WEFs benevolent surface, it becomes clear that corporatism and, more aptly, fascism, are its modus operandi
  • WEFs Board of Trustees is packed with powerful and prominent representatives from government and multinational corporations like BlackRock, Salesforce and Nestl
  • WEF supports the merging of man and machine, or transhumanism, and its Fourth Industrial Revolution aims to use wearable and implantable technology to surveil your thoughts and launch a digital dictatorship
  • Once implemented, a digital dictator ship will be almost impossible to escape from; one way to stop it is to not comply or utilize these technologies
Curious about the inner workings of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the driving force behind The Great Reset? Set aside 30 minutes to watch investigative journalist Whitney Webb speak with MintPress News in the video above.1 Every year in January, WEF holds its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The 2023 theme was "cooperation in a fragmented world," with WEF noting, "The world today is at a critical inflection point. The sheer number of ongoing crises calls for bold collective action."2 Their actions, however, while carefully...

Bored at Work? Heres What Your Brain Is Trying to Tell You "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

That we spend much, if not most, of our lives working is, in itself, not necessarily a bad thing unless, that is, were bored doing it. In the Big Think video above, London Business School Professor of Organizational Behavior Dan Cable cites Gallup polls showing that about 70 percent of people are not engaged in what they do all day long, and about eighteen percent of people are repulsed. This may sound normal enough, but Cable calls these perceptions of work as a thing that we have to get through on the way to the weekend a humanistic sickness: a bad condition for people, of course, but also for the organizations who get lackluster performance.

Cable traces the civilizational roots of this at-work boredom back to the decades after the Industrial Revolution. In the mid-nineteenth century, a shoe-shopper would go to the local cobbler. Each of the people in the store would watch the customer walk in, and then theyd make a shoe for that customer. But toward the end of the century, we got this different idea, as a species, where we should not sell two pairs of shoes each day, but two million.

Essential Japanese Cinema: A Journey Through 50 of Japans Beautiful, Often Bizarre Films "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In 2018, Hirokazu Kore-edas Shoplifters won the Palme dOr at Cannes. The award itself came as less of a surprise than did the fact that Shoplifters was the first of Kore-edas films to win it, given how long hed been the most widely acclaimed Japanese filmmaker alive. And though it had been more than twenty years since the Palme last went to a Japanese movie Shomei Imamuras The Eel, in 1997 Japan had long since established itself at Cannes as the Asian country to beat. Imamuras The Ballad of Narayama had won the Palme in 1983, Akira Kurosawas Kagemusha in 1980, and Teinosuke Kinugasas Gate of Hell in 1954, when Western cinephiles were only just starting to appreciate Japanese cinema.

Why has that appreciation proven so enduring? This is one question investigated by The Essential Japanese Cinema, a video essay from The Cinema Cartography. Narrator Luiza Liz Bond emphasized the heightened aesthetic sensibility of Japanese filmmakers, on display in the tender observation of Ozus Tokyo Story, the poetic rhapsody of Kurosawas Dreams, the harrowing feminine gaze of Videophobia. But one can find examples just as rich and even more various in lesser-known films from Japan such as Shji Terayamas engag experimental drama Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets, Kaiz Hayashis oneiric silent-film pastiche To Sleep as to Dream, and Gakury Ishiis subtly psychedelic and science-fictional coming-of-age tale August in the Water.

She Wants Her Daughter to Make Her Wedding Cake Even Though Her Partner Is Refusing. Is She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

As we all know, things get extremely complicated when it comes to planning a wedding.

There are so many details to work out that it can drive a wedge between couples and it can get ugly.

And a woman asked the readers on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page if shes wrong for wanting her daughter to make the cake for her upcoming wedding.

Read on to see whats going on here.

AITA for wanting my daughter to make my wedding cake although my future husband is refusing?

I (F-36) have a daughter (F-16) who loves baking, and shes incredibly good at it. Its her passion since she was 3 and I encourage her to follow it and discover more ways to become better at it. I even enrolled her in few classes in academy to learn more.

I met my fiance (M-41) 2 and a half years ago. Were getting married soon. And for the wedding cake I had an idea whichs to have my daughter bake the cake and decorate it for us. My daughter agreed and was so excited to do it.

My fiance glanced at me when he heard about it then when we were alone he snapped and said I cant believe youre being serious about this I told him why not, its not like were having a huge formal wedding with many guests. Just a small party with our family and loved ones.

He said this was a f**king joke and that he will not let a child bake our wedding cake while there are tons of professional bakers out there who can make a much more decent looking/tasting one. I said I didnt understand the problem because I thought he loved her baking. He responded I do love what she bakes but lets just stick to the muffins and brownies.

I told him he was being unreaso...

Tragic Pigeon Flamingo Is Cautionary Tale About Domestic Birds "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The Wild Bird Fund recently found a domestic king pigeon that had been dyed pink and released into the wild. The poor guy was named Flamingo, and his story is an important reminder not to dye birds (or any animal) and the danger of releasing domestic creatures into the wild.

The rescue group believes Flamingo was rinsed with hair dye to turn him pink, prompting some to suggest he was used as a prop for a gender reveal party. Despite the teams best efforts, Flamingo died, likely from inhaling toxic fumes. The strong ingredients in hair dye make it especially hazardous for birds with highly sensitive respiratory systems, and while preening, its possible the poor pigeon also ingested the toxins.

Netflix Accidentally Published Hidden Guidelines to End Password-Sharing "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The streaming giant Netflix recently posted guidelines for a trial in Chile to end password-sharing, but accidentally went live on its FAQ page, visible to other countries, including the U.S. So, what happened, and what is in store for all Netflix consumers?

Netflix featured image Netflix Accidentally Published Hidden Guidelines to End Password Sharing

Netflix currently allows sharing between individuals living in the same household, but it has been looking at ways to police non-account holders who use a friend or family members login. One way is to monitor device location and prompt users to log in whenever using Netflix on a device away from their home Wi-Fi connection.

The popular streaming service once Tweeted that love was sharing a password, contradicting the rules they accidentally published. For a brief time yesterday, a help center article containing information that is only applicable to Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru went live in other countries. We have since updated it, it said in a statement.

Katie Shulmans Delicate Dance With Fiber "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Though its origins are somewhat disputed, a popular maxim holds that writing about music is like dancing about architecture which is a sideswipe at music criticism, specifically, but might also be more broadly interpreted to mean that certain expressive media cannot be effectively used to convey a sense of others. In this spirit, it might be argued that it is very difficult to knit about dance, but fiber artist Katie Shulman would likely disagree.

I have a structured process, and I like to use materials like elastic bra strapping that behaves with its own will, Shulman told Hyperallergic during a studio visit, and because I am making such specific decisions, theres an intermediary period that is pretty intuitive. Im pushing and pulling and making connections based on weight and tension.

Travel Down to the Tallest Underground Cave Waterfall in a High-Speed Glass Elevator "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Travel Down to the Tallest Underground Cave Waterfall in a High-Speed Glass Elevator

The tall and cavernous Ruby Falls in Tennessee

Nature can be generous and bless a community with two wonders in the same place. Ruby Falls near Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall in the U.S. It's located inside the scenic Lookout Mountain, making this one of the top destinations for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike.

Ruby Falls is 1,120 feet below the surface and is surrounded by smaller caves and myriad stalactites and stalagmites. To reach a prime viewing spot, a glass-front elevator was built. It travels down 260 feet, and the large glass interior doors allow guests to see the rockface whether they are coming or going. A one-way trip down this high-speed elevator takes half a minute, traveling at a speed of 600 ft/min.

So, how was Ruby Falls discovered? It was by accident; in the early 20th century, the construction of the neighboring railroad led to the closure of the Lookout Mountain Cave. In 1928, local cave explorer Leo Lambert put together a team of excavators and set to build an elevator from the surface that would lower visitors into the cave. During the process, a team member drilled into an 18-inch opening that led to a previously unknown cave. Marveled by the sight, Lambert named the waterfall and cave after his wife, Ruby.

During construction, the team removed an estimated five million pounds of stone from the shaft, which were later used to build the historic Ruby Falls Castle and Lookout Mountain Tower that greet visitors at the surface level. The original car sling, as Lambert envisioned it, welcomed visitors for over 90 years until it went through its biggest upgrade to date in January 2023.

Ruby Falls offers a series of tours, which range from a slow and gentle walk to an exciting lantern-lit adventure around the falls. Given the intricacies of the location, all tours are guided. As for the mountain that houses Ruby Falls, it rises 2,000 feet above sea level and offers majestic views of the Cumberland Plateau and the Tennessee River.

Ruby Falls is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall in the U.S.

Better Mining Efficiency of ZIL with ASICs and Old Low-VRAM GPUs on Ezil.me "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The Ezil.me mining pool has introduced a new beta feature targeted at miners using ASIC miners such as iPollo or older GPUs with less video memory onboard that would allow them to make more profit when dual-mining Zilliqa (ZIL). These devices do not allow to cache a DAG file for ZIL in advance to avoid creating a new file for every ZIL round. So, ASICs and old GPUs could not fully participate in the ZIL round which is only 1.5 minutes long because the creation of a DAG file had been consuming most of the time that they should normally be mining ZIL during this short window. The new beta feature is new dedicated ports for these miners for dual-mining ETC/ZIL and ETHW/ZIL.

These new server ports allow for more time before the actual start of the ZIL mining round, so when the mining starts the hardware has already generated the DAG for Zilliqa and can start mining on time during the whole mining round. Your equipment will be receiving a specific job that activates DAG file generation prior to the actual ZIL round, so you wont be missing a second of the round due to DAG file creation. It seems that preliminary testing shows a significant income increase for ASICS such as iPollo miners or GPUs with less video memory, so if you have such you might want to give it a try. There is no need to use these ports on GPUs with large size of video memory that can pre-cache the DAG for Zilliqa just fine.

When a Massachusetts couple was asked to clear out a storage unit, they never could have guessed what they'd find inside. Kristen, a young mother of two who works part-time at a tanning salon, was asked a favor by her boss in December. Aside from the tanning salon, he also owns a storage unit rental company and needed to clear out a unit left behind by a renter. Kristen and her boyfriend Fridrik agreed to clean it out on the condition that they could keep what they found. They'd been told by Kristen's boss that some cameras were inside, but nothing prepared them for what they saw when they opened up the unit.

Inside the unit was a veritable museum of photography. It was filled with approximately 2,000 vintage cameras and lenses. For Kristen, who studied film photography in high school and loved it, the discovery has been overwhelming but illuminating. Not only has her apartment been overtaken with camera equipment, but she's also invested a lot of time in organizing the collection and learning about the cameras.

The vast majority of the collection is Miranda and Minolta, she shared. Theres also a good amount of FEDs, Voigtlander, Zorkis, Zenits, Fujicas, Yashicas, Pentaxs, Prakticas, Mamiya Sekors, Exaktas, Olympuss, Exas, Petris, Konicas, and some TLRs and other brands I cant think of at the moment.

Jack Dorseys Block Announces Mining Development Kit For Novel Bitcoin Mining Use Cases "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The development kit is envisioned as having multiple components that would enable increase the accessibility and openness of bitcoin mining hardware.

Jack Dorseys Block has posted a new blog that details the Mining Development Kit, a new project that would seemingly replicate the Lightning Development Kit and Bitcoin Development Kit projects, providing developers access to bitcoin mining projects focused on integrating bitcoin mining into various novel use cases.

The blog also describes how the company has started developing their own bitcoin mining semiconductor chips, saying that These purpose-built application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) are the leading way bitcoin is mined today and will serve as the foundation for a full suite of bitcoin mining products intended to increase the pace of innovation in bitcoin mining.

Block then says it is considering building the MDK, and they are seeking further feedback from the community. The MDK as Block currently envisions it would have four components:

  1. A powerful, reliable, industrial-grade bitcoin mining hashboard.
  2. A custom controller board designed to work with the hashboard.
  3. Open-source firmware, a software API and a web front-end, that would allow developers to modify the key performance parameters of the hashboard.
  4. And extensive reference materials and support documentation to facilitate easy customization of the hashboard.

The intention behind the MDK is to provide developers with a suite of tools to help unlock creativity and innovation in bitcoin mining hardware, describes the blog. With the MDK, we see a significant opportunity to increase the accessibility and openness of bitcoin mining hardware, in order to accelerate innovation in the field.

The post ends with a promise of future updates in the coming weeks and months, and a call to action for feedback that can be directed to mining@block.xyz.

In the Victorian era, big game hunting saw a meteoric rise in popularity, coinciding with Britains colonization of numerous regions in the so-called Scramble for Africa and the advent of more accurate firearms that galvanized a fashion for amassing exotic trophies. Sometimes intended for museums, specimens were often bound for private collections, and creatures that roamed the vast African continent were considered particularly attractive prizes.

Judges Consider Grayscales Arguments In Bitcoin ETF Hearing Against SEC "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

DC Circuit judges hammered the SECs lawyers as they defended their decision to not approve Grayscales move toward a spot bitcoin ETF.

Grayscale Investments LLC participated in oral arguments on Tuesday in the United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit in relation to its attempts to get its popular Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) converted to a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). In these oral arguments, the three presiding judges seemingly sided with Grayscale in their positioning.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has repeatedly denied previous attempts at the introduction of a spot bitcoin ETF. This has led to Grayscale suing the SEC, alleging that the decisions have been arbitrary and inconsistent with the Commission's decision to approve Bitcoin futures ETFs.

In todays arguments, presiding judges Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan and Judge Neomi Rao continually prodded the SEC Senior Counsel Emily Parise about the SECs differentiation between a futures ETF and a spot bitcoin ETF.

[The prices] move together 99.9% of the time. So where's the gap, in the Commission's view? asked Judge Rao.

The SEC response was that correlation does not equal causation, with its lawyers explaining that the key empirical question is whether fraud and manipulation in the spot markets affect futures in the same way so that they can rely on the surveillance of the future markets. Without that missing empirical piece, the SEC counsel said, the agency can't be sure it can rely on CME future surveillance to approve a spot ETF.

Questioning led to the pontification that the SEC had not provided sufficient evidence to explain their decision making, with Judge Rao telling Parise, The SEC has not offered any explanation that the petitioners are wrong.

The full record of the questioning can be listened to here.

Scientists Reveal a Hidden Corridor in Great Pyramid of Giza Not Seen for Thousands of Years

Hidden Corridor in Great Pyramid of Giza Revealed

(Photo: Nina via Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 3.0)

The Egyptian Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Despite being 4,500 years old, the magnificent structure never ceases to amaze us. Scientists have recently discovered a hidden corridor in the pyramid, a passage that has not been seen by humans in thousands of years. The released news of a deep stone passagewayannounced in both Nature Communications and by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquitiessuggests more may be discovered using advanced technology.

There are many passages inside the pyramid, but the recently discovered one was by scientists from Scan Pyramids in 2016. They used a non-invasive imaging technology called muography. A muon is a sub-atomic particle that moves at almost the speed of light and can be produced and used to penetrate stone. Where the particle did not fully get absorbed indicated an empty space just behind the northern face of the pyramid. On the outside of the pyramid, a stone chevron structure is nearby. The team followed up with radar and ultrasound.

Eventually, an endoscope (a thin, tube-like scope often used in medicine) 0.24 inches thick was inserted through the stones of the external chevron design. The camera sent back a live feed of a stone corridor with a vaulted ceiling that has lain unseen for thousands of years...

Tentacle Earplugs Make It Look Like an Octopus Is Wiggling From Your Head "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Tentacle Earplugs Make It Look Like an Octopus Is Wiggling From Your Head

Tentacle Earbuds by Genki Hirano

Earplugs are typically functional tools rather than fashion accessories. But thanks to Japanese designer Genki Hirano, they are both. The glass artist crafted limited edition tentacle earplugs that, when placed inside the ear, make it look like a sea creature is crawling out. The effect is as surreal as it is whimsical.

Although these pieces were meant to be limited edition items for a design festival, Hirano was requested to make a line of tentacle earplugs for toymaker Ikimon due to their outstanding popularity. However, they still retain a sheen that makes it look as though they were crafted from handblown glass.

Each set of earplugs comes with three different-sized buds so that it offers a more comfortable fit inside the ear. Hirano even made other versions of the tentacle earbud in colors like white and yellow as well as models inspired by other sea creatures including a squid tentacle.

You can purchase these earbuds at a gashapon, or toy vending machine, for 400 yen at various locations in Japan.

My Royal Quiet Deluxe "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Matthew Zapruders Royal Quiet Deluxe typewriter and a typewritten draft of a 2018 poem. Photographs courtesy of Zapruder.

When I was in my twenties, my grandparents finally moved out of the house my mother had grown up in. In the attic where we used to sleep as kids, and where my grandfather would come in at bedtime and sing Goodnight, Irene to me and my younger brother and sister as we lay in a row in our little cots, I had found my mothers typewriter, a Royal Quiet Deluxe, perfectly preserved from her high school days. My grandfather was the sort of person who would make sure it was in pristine working order, and when I opened the case, the keys gleamed. It didnt even need a new ribbon. It made a satisfying, well-oiled clack.

I lugged it to the house I was living in on School Street, in Northampton, Massachusetts. I had moved from California back to the same weird little valley where I had gone to college, to go to graduate school for poetry. Thankfully I did not yet know that a manual typewriter was a writerly clich. For a while, the typewriter just sat there in the corner of my room.

I was still toiling away, writing a lot of poems the way I used to: choose a subject, and try to write something about it. Use a computer. Those poems always felt labored and ponderous. No matter what I said, the thoughts in them were never new. Nothing was being added by my writing. I had already figured it out, and mostly it was banal and obvious. Death is sad. The city, if you have not been informed, is lonely at night. In it, other people are mysteriously uninterested in me, which is sad and lonely for me, and for them, whether or not they know it.

Occasionally I would try to let things go completely, and exert as little control as possible over the language. Those poems were a mess, and I would stare at them afterward with bored incomprehension.

My bedroom on the second floor of that house on School Street tilted alarmingly. A row of poorly sealed windows looked out onto the street and oth...

Through Incisive Paintings, Toni Hamel Highlights Futile and Inadequate Responses to Global Issues "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ikebana VII (The Arrangement) (2023), oil on canvas, 18 x 18 inches. All images Toni Hamel, shared with permission

It may be human to err, but Toni Hamels characters take mistakes and futility to irrational conclusions. The artist (previously) is known for her keen wit and observations of contemporary life, which she translates into oil paintings that place folly at the center: a woman paints red stripes onto a tulips petals, a man gestures toward a celestial Amazon logo, and a team numbers clouds suspended in the sky.

Many of Hamels works comment on inadequate responses to major issues like the climate crisis and social inequities, and she often paints scenes with figures undertaking unhelpful and unrelated actions to remedy the problem. Her Activist paintings, for example, depict a melting arctic and figures attempting to stop the loss of life and landscape through words alone. Laced with humor and satire, Hamel considers her work a form of protest and a reflection of my general preoccupations as an artist.

Currently living and working in Kingston, Ontario, Hamel will have many of the pieces shown here at CK Contemporary in San Francisco in the coming weeks. You can find an archive of her works on her site and Instagram.

Charming Chalk Characters Come Alive by Cleverly Interacting With the Environment

Chalk Art by David Zinn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase, My Modern Met may earn an affiliate commission. Please read our disclosure for more info.

If you're ever walking through Ann Arbor, Michigan, keep an eye on the groundyou may just find something delightfully unexpected. Artist David Zinn uses his creative talents to add charming chalk drawings to sidewalks, staircases, and other niche corners of the city. Each of these cartoonish characters playfully interacts with the environment in such a way that will bring a smile to your face.

Zinn's art is easy to spot for its distinct style. He renders a range of animal and mythological characters including foxes, dragons, dogs, and creatures straight from his imagination. Despite their stylized appearance, many of these illustrations appear to have three-dimensional depth, which Zinn achieves through the use of perspective and shading. In this way, these artworks look as though they are standing or placed underneath the surface rather than drawn on top.

Some of the clever places that Zinn places his original creations include a crack in the sidewalk where a green weed becomes the body of a verdant doglike creature. Another piece of chalk art imagines a wooden staircase acting as a couch for a sleepy squirrel. Because each of these pieces is made using chalk, they are, by nature, ephemeral and will wash away with the elements. This vulnerability, however, makes the artwork a precious find; you know that Zinn made a special effort to bring life to a small part of the city, even if its lifespan is only for a couple of days.

If youd like to learn how to draw like Zinn, he has a book called Chalk Art Handbook that contains all of his tricks and secrets. Its now available through Bookshop. To purchase more from Zinn, be sure to check out his ...

Cheerleading Squads Music Is Cut Off During Routine So Supportive Crowd Steps in To Help

Music Cuts Out at Cheerleading Competition

Photo: Screenshot from YouTube

Cheerleaders spend months perfecting their choreography, but anything can happen during a performance. The Cheer Athletic Panthers were in the middle of their routine at the NCA All-Star Cheer Competition in Dallas, Texas, when their music suddenly cut out. But rather than succumbing to the pressure, the whole team stayed focused on what they needed to do. Fortunately, the supportive crowd carried them through the remaining minute by chanting along.

The entire scene was captured in a TikTok video that has now accumulated over two million views. After the Panthers were nearly halfway through their routine, the music suddenly cut out, and the crowd was quick to jump in. One, three, five, seven, was repeated to help the athletes time the rest of their performance. Some people in the comments mentioned that it was a long time for the music to disappear, and even if that's the case, the Panthers pushed through the unexpected curveball in stride.

Moments like thiswhere the audience steps in to support mishapsare a common occurrence in the cheer sport, which depends a lot on the cheer community. We may be biased but #NCAnationals has the best sportsmanship in the game, NCA Cheer wrote on its official Instagram.

Watch the video below. It's safe to say that the Cheer Athletic Panthers stunned with both their skills and resilience.

A Mysterious Presence in the Forest Grapples with Change in Guldiess Stop-Motion Animation MITOSIS "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In his latest stop-motion animation, Alexander Unger, who works as Guldies (previously), presents an idiosyncratic tale set in a nighttime forest. MITOSIS follows the transformation of a pine cone into an anthropomorphized log, which in turn morphs into timber, crates, and an idyllic cabin in the woods. Yet an eccentric presence lurks amongst the trees that, frustrated by the changes, confronts their new neighbor and inadvertently prompt the entire cycle to begin again.

MITOSIS takes inspiration from the biological process by which a cell produces two identical nuclei in preparation for cell division. It took Unger one year to complete the work, which incorporates 4,425 individual photos. Find more of Guldiess work on Instagram and YouTube.

Creationist thinks evo-devo refutes evolution "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

I love it when creationists decide to attack evolution by way of developmental biology. Yes, come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly. Our home is our terrible weakness, Im sure youll be able to frolic and thrive in our little domainheh heh heh

This fellow, David W. Swift, whose knowledge of development is maybe an inch deep and obtained entirely from information taken from basic textbooks, followed up by a conscious misreading of a few scientific papers with an eye to extracting only bits and pieces that support his conclusion, has decided that embryology is evidence against evolution.

It is quite well known that at a relatively early stage the embryos of a wide range of vertebrates look similar a so-called phylotypic stage and this is generally regarded as evidence of common ancestry.

What is not well known is that before this stage the early embryonic development of vertebrates is very diverse right from the earliest stages which clearly refutes their common ancestry.

Hes partly right. It is well known that there are embryonic similarites between vertebrates, and of course thats evidence for common ancestry. There is a lot of evidence for common ancestry, and that is one small piece of it.

Hes wrong when he says that it is not well known that early development is more diverse. Any developmental biology textbook that discusses comparative embryology is going to tell you that. We developmental biologists ALL know that. Its been a hot button topic of discussion for at least 50 years, probably longer. Mr Swift perused a select bunch of papers and just skipped over any that brought the topic up, so he could pretend he was the perceptive creationist who noticed, for the first time, a weakness in evolutionary theory? Such arrogance. Its especially annoying because he says nothing novel that he couldnt have found prominently discussed in the scientific literature.

Also, the known evidence that early development is a complex process with diverse patterns of execution in different organism does not refute common ancestry. The creationists seem unable to get into their heads that a short-sighted process driven by chance as a core mechanism, running over millions and billions of years, is going to generate complexity and diversity by its very nature. Observing that something is complex and diverse is evidence that an evolutionary process created it, rather than an engineer.

That doesnt stop him from expanding that claim into a whole tedious paper, published in the Discovery Institutes fake journal, Bio-Complexity...

HI Action Alert HB 521 House Vote 3/7 Support Raw Milk Sales "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Tell House Members to Vote YES on HB 521

Support Sales of Raw Milk and Raw Milk Products

House Bill 521 (HB 521), legislation legalizing raw milk sales in Hawaii, will be voted on the House floor Tuesday, March 7th.

HB 521 legalizes the sale of raw milk and raw milk products direct to consumers provided that the farm from which the raw milk or raw milk product originated shall own or house no more than ten milk-bearing cows. Producers must be in compliance with rules issued by the state board of health, including a requirement that the label on the raw milk or raw milk products have a warning statement. Producers must also obtain a permit before beginning operations.

HB 521 also allows sales of raw goat milk for pet consumption. Producers must be in compliance with rules issued by the state department of health, including a requirement that a label have the statement: Contains pathogens that may be unsafe for human consumption.

Hawaii is an outlier, one of only five states that doesnt allow any sale or distribution of raw milk. Its time for the legislature to change that.

ACTION TO TAKE

Call your state representative and ask him or her to vote YES on HB 521.

Contact info for House members:

https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/legislature/legislators.aspx?chamber=H

Find your state legislators by tapping your location on the map:

https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/fyl/

TALKING POINTS

1. Tell the committee members your story on how raw milk has benefited your health or the health of your family.

2. Raw milk has a good track record for safety. According to at least one study, the number of illnesses attributed to raw milk consumption in the U.S. has declined as demand for the product has increased.

3. There is not a single Grade A dairy producing milk in the state. Passage of HB 521 can revive Hawaiis dairy industry.

4. Passage of HB 521 would enable family farmers to make a better living. Raw milk in other states is often the product that first draws the consumer to set foot on the farm, leading to sales of other foods such as meat, poultry, eggs and produce.

5. HB 521 supports consumer choice. The consumption of all raw milk products is legal in Hawaii; Hawaiians should not have to be part of an illegal transaction to exercise their legal right.

WAPF will send out further alerts on HB 521 as events warrant.

Full Moon in Virgo ~ Precision "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From ColleenMarieHealing: The Moon is reaching its point of crescendo during this Pisces season in its opposite sign, Virgo. These two couldnt be more different, but the one thing that truly brings them together is the concept of healing. When Pisces energy dominates, we tend to be blissed out on our connection with the cosmos 24/7. We feel the Oneness of the Universe and the ocean of unconditional love so deeply that we would forget to, well, do anything practical at all. Not setting boundaries, not paying attention to the details, just in a la-la land of love. If were feeling this way lately - a little distracted, reflective, and a little confused - thats right on time. It is Pisces season, after all. And dont worry - smack-dab in the middle of it comes our Full Moon in Virgo, bringing us right back down to earth. The Virgo side of this axis is all about precision. Virgo can conceive of perfection, of things being just-so, in a way no other sign can. Virgo, an earth sign ruled by Mercury, thrives on tangible, measurable, efficient outcomes. It can be a little cut-throat and critical, but thats also its superpower - because we all need a healthy dose of reality sometimes. Now what does all of this have to do with healing? True healing requires a both/and approach. Its not the aptly named toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing of Pisces. Nor is it the strict dietary and medicinal interventions of Virgo. In fact, it is neither, and both. Because we need to address the Soul AND the body, in order for our healing to be effective. While Pisces positivity can indeed be toxic, it also can be life-affirming, loving, and deeply spiritual for the Soul. And Virgos health directives can be critical, but our bodies do require routine and honest assessments of habits and health. One is only bypassing when it isnt acknowledging the other. And the beauty of astrology is that the Full Moon each month doesnt let us get away with that! We may also be experiencing some lucky breakthroughs at this time, with Jupiter, Venus, and Chiron togethe...

Its not enough just to have a good idea, youve also got to put that good idea into practice (or, ideally, get someone else to do it).

We say this because theres a rather fabulous corner of Reddit called good taste but awful execution which is full, as the name suggests, of very good intentions well, mostly good intentions which went hilariously, catastrophically wrong.

And these are 17 of the very best, beginning with a proper cracker.

The knife you want on you when SHTF "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Granted most have an EDC knife, be it a pocketknife, fixed blade, sheathed folder, belt clip folder or something else. Personally, I carry a Benchmade clip point belt clip folder but that is not the blade I would want on me when SHTF. My choice would be a Buck 110 folder sheathed.

What is your choice?
